How to Name Your Tour & Tour Name Ideas

tourism

  • September 28, 2022

When naming your tour, you want to make sure that it accurately represents what people can expect from the experience. You also want to choose a name that is clear and descriptive, something that will grab people’s attention and make them want to learn more.

In this blog post, we will discuss some tips for choosing a tour name, as well as how to write a “bold promise” and an effective call to action (CTA). Watch the video below for more examples and expanded explanations.

Naming your tours

Most tour operators overthink the naming of their tours, but there are a few things you can keep in mind that will help you choose the perfect one.

First, make sure that your tour name accurately reflects what prospective guests can expect from the tour. You don’t want to disappoint your guests by having a tour name that doesn’t match up with the actual tour.

Second, try to choose a tour name that is simple, clear and uses descriptive language. Don’t make prospective guests think hard to work out what the tour is about.

Finally, try to incorporate keywords into your tour names, for example, Asheville E-bike Tour.

Writing a bold promise

Now that you have some tips for choosing a tour name, let’s discuss how to write a bold promise. A bold promise is a short statement (one or two sentences) that highlights the main benefits or unique selling points of the tour.

It should be interesting and enticing, something that will make people want to learn more about your tour.

When writing a bold promise, you might like to apply our Bold Promise Framework as follows:

Enjoy <biggest desire> without <biggest pain> even if <biggest objection>.

Let’s apply the framework to Asheville E-bike Tours.

Experience Asheville’s vibrant arts scene and fresh mountain air without the hassle of traffic and parking even if it’s your first time on an e-bike.

Crafting an effective call to action

tour different names

Finally, let’s talk about how to create an effective call to action. A call to action is a statement that tells potential guests what you want them to do next. For example, if you want people to book a tour, your call to action might be “Book Now” or “Buy Tickets” or “Check Availability”.

Whatever you do, make sure that your call to action is instantly visible to your website visitors and easy to understand.

All of these three elements – your tour name, bold promise and call to action – should be “above the fold” on your website. This simply means that visitors shouldn’t have to scroll to see them.

That’s all for now! We hope this blog post has given you some helpful tips for choosing a tour name, writing a bold promise, and creating an effective call to action.

10 Creative Tour Name Ideas to Attract More Visitors

Angela Bolchinova

Table of Content

Destination vacation, hop-on, hop-off, mind the gap, green escapes, city sightseeing,  the landmark tour, the royal route, keep calm and travel on, wander rush, rhapsody travel or my big fat city tour, wrapping up on tour company names.

Choosing a unique tour company name is critical for every travel business. Whether it describes the route, service or experience you deliver, a good name is very likely to increase customer engagement and interest. You will need to find words that truly reflect your values in a memorable way.

In this article, we share some great tour name ideas to give you a framework for naming your own business. You will also find some useful tips to follow when making the final decision. ‘Steal like an artist’ and craft a tour name that will make your visitors go through the roof!

Deliberately misspelling is a great idea when it comes to tour names. You can build up a word that hints the nature of the experience. Adventour is a great example of a catchy name that is at the same time memorable and easy to reference. Whether you are offering breathtaking wildlife safaris or day escapes to the world’s most exotic places, it will suit ideally for your exciting tour.

Get-a-way is a similar made-up name. Short and simple, but still nicely delivering a clear message which is setting up certain expectations.

Another type of name that would ideally suit day trips and expeditions to relaxing beautiful places. Destination Vacation is a meaningful name that delivers a clear message describing the purpose of the tour. It is also an instance of SEO friendly travel name. To find more about the importance of SEO, have a read through our latest article on tourism marketing  and check your website performance with our free SEO Grader tool.

Tip: Using rhymes is a good approach when you are a bit stuck with choosing a tour name. Rhymes make even usual words sound more appealing and unique, so why not using them to create a cool tour name? Like Sky high or Ray day. Think about the best feature of your tour and rhyme it to craft something different.

Use tour names that have already gained popularity. Hop-on, Hop-off   is a good example of a common travel experience most people know about. It describes a bus tour that follows a circular route with fixed stops, allowing passengers to disembark and reboard at any stop. Fantastic choice of name for those of you who offer flexible bus tours for adventurous travelers!

Use local common phrases when organizing various city tours . They make reference to some unique cultural values reflecting the spirit and character of the city. Mind the gap is an expression every Londoner hears at least once a day. Find the distinctive notions in the area you operate and use them to describe your tour. Mind the gap is the perfect name for all types of day trips in London, especially if they include using the famous London underground.

Choose a relaxing tour company name that relates to the advantages of your tour. Green Escapes  is one of our favorites. It infers the nature of the journey while at the same time sets clear customer expectations. It highlights the best features of the trip and inspires people to imagine the relaxing expedition that the tour offers.

Comfort travel could be used in a similar context. If you can offer an exceptional travel experience, this tour name would definitely promote it nicely.

CALL TO ACTION

Choose a location-based  tour company name that is short and simple. City Sightseeing says it all. You can easily attract people specifically searching for this kind of experience. City Sightseeing Amsterdam  is one of the many examples. Whether you are going to offer convenient transport when exploring the city, or selection of places that will be visited, it will do the job. This name is quite broad and would allow adding or changing some of the relevant activities in the future.

The Landmark Tour delivers a very straightforward message. A tour named like that could take you to an enchanting garden, popular monument, or even fortress in the suburbs. Just like our previous suggestion, it targets a specific audience with clear expectations and travel goals. This tour combines all the special places that one would love to visit when traveling abroad or exploring the local.

A classy name that will be associated with a set of activities. This tour name hints exploring the cultural heritage of the specific region, in one way or another. It will attract people keen to visit everything from ancient castles and historic places to famous museums and houses. Ideal to engage all tourists interested in the fascinating stories from the past. Still engaging for the younger people who want to know more about the history and best-loved ancient monuments.

Are you trying to attract a younger audience or just want to be noticed by people spending most of their time online? Popular social terms are what you need for this purpose. Most of your customers are choosing their next travel destination or experience online. Social networks are where the actual research and planning happens.

If you want to capture this audience, create a name that contains a popular social media expression. Foodie map is a similar example that could refer to an exciting food and drinks tour.

Our final suggestion offers three different tour company names. We think one of the best approaches when choosing a tour name is creating something memorable and unique. A selection of words that sound exciting and challenging would definitely intrigue people. These names are unusual and have great potential to grow as an independent brand in the future. Give freedom to your imagination and it will pay off with an inspiring idea.

Extra Tip:  Make sure the name you choose is available as a domain name. You don’t want to end up with a great idea that cannot become something ‘bigger’.

Choosing what to call your tour or travel experience is one of the most important decisions you make for your business. To a certain extent, the name would determine further performance and success. Don’t underestimate the significance of words and the extent to which they affect customer interest. Take your time to craft an influential message locked in a few words. You will be surprised to find out how much your effort will do for the business!

Creative and Catchy Tour Guide Name Ideas

Alliteration attraction.

A catchy tour company name can be a game-changer. One trick? Alliteration. It’s like music to the ears, making your tour guide business name stick in people’s minds. Think “Traveling Turtles Tours” or “Bewitching Bus Trips.”

Local Landmarks Lingo

Want to add some local flavor to your tour guide names? Use local landmarks or cultural highlights. It instantly adds authenticity and gives a hint of what travelers might experience on your tours. For example, if you’re operating in Paris, how about “Eiffel Excursions”? Or for a New York-based tour, why not try “Statue Strolls”?

Adjective Adventures

Unique adjectives can make all the difference when brainstorming name ideas for your business. They help differentiate you from competitors and add personality to your brand. Consider something like “Vivacious Vegas Ventures” or “Majestic Mountain Meanders”.

Word Wizardry

Combining words in an original way can lead to memorable tour names that stand out from the crowd. Get creative with this one! How about “Excited Eagle Expeditions” for bird-watching trips or “Perfect Picnic Promenades” for foodie walking tours?

Here are some additional creative tour guide name ideas:

Culture Vulture Voyages

Scenic Serenity Sojourns

Epicurean Escapades

Roaming Rhino Rambles

Remember, when using a tour business name generator, it’s just a starting point! Take those suggestions and tweak them until they perfectly represent your unique travel experience.

Tips for creating the perfect tour guide business name:

Keep it simple: The easier it is to remember and pronounce, the better.

Make it relevant: Your name should give potential customers an idea of what they can expect from your tours.

Check availability: Before settling on a name, ensure it’s not already being used by another company.

So get those creative juices flowing and start brainstorming those catchy tour company names ! Whether based on alliteration, local landmarks, unique adjectives or word combinations – there’s no limit to what you can come up with!

Importance of Memorable and Easy-to-Spell Names

Imagine you’re a tourist, lost in the labyrinthine streets of an unfamiliar city. You’ve heard about this fantastic tour guide from a fellow traveler but all you remember is that their name was unique but… what was it? This scenario highlights the significance of having memorable and easy-to-spell names for tour guides.

Word-of-Mouth Referrals

Let’s be real, satisfied customers are your best marketers. They will rave about their experiences to friends, family, and anyone who’ll listen. But if your tour guide name is difficult to remember or spell, they might struggle to pass on the recommendation. A unique name that easily rolls off the tongue can make all the difference here. For instance:

“Journey Jester”

“Wanderlust Whisperer”

“Voyage Virtuoso”

These names not only stick in people’s minds but also spark curiosity about what makes these guides stand out.

Online Searchability

In today’s digital age, being easily searchable online is crucial for any business. If your tour guide name is simple and easy to spell, potential customers will find you with just a few keystrokes. Imagine typing ‘Voyage Virtuoso’ into Google – there’s no room for spelling errors there!

Avoid Confusion

You don’t want your company name to be mistaken for another business, do you? A distinctive company name helps set you apart from competitors and reduces confusion among potential clients. Let’s say there are two companies with similar names, ‘Tour Gurus’ and ‘Tour Gooroos’. The chances are high that customers might mix up these company names!

Brand Recall Value

Finally, a catchy and easy-to-spell name enhances brand recall value. It’s like planting a seed in your customer’s mind that grows over time with every mention of your unique name.

To sum it up: Memorable? Check! Easy-to-spell? Check! Unique? Double-check! That’s how vital having an unforgettable yet straightforward tour guide name is for word-of-mouth referrals, online searchability, avoiding confusion with similar businesses, and enhancing brand recall value.

Utilizing Humor and Wordplay in Names

Humorous names have a magnetic pull. They grab attention and make people chuckle, creating an instant connection. A catchy name with a dash of fun can be the perfect icebreaker. It’s like extending a friendly hand to potential customers, inviting them to join in on the joke.

Consider these examples:

“Wok This Way” for an Asian tour company

“Rome-ing Around”, a tour name generated by our tour business name generator, is ideal for a Rome-based travel guide service. This tour company name is one of our top tour business name ideas.

“Venice Day at a Time” for Venice tours

These names are memorable because they’re fun. They tell a simple story about the company while also making people smile.

Puns Create Approachability

Puns are not just for dad jokes. They’re powerful tools in naming your tour guide business too. A good name that cleverly uses puns can break down barriers and create an approachable image.

Think about it: When you hear or read a pun, your brain does a little double-take. That moment of surprise is delightful – it’s like finding hidden treasure in words! And that feeling of delight? That’s now associated with your brand.

Here are some great name ideas using puns:

“Sea-Esta” for beach tours

“Tour de Farce” for comedy-themed tours

“Peak-A-Boo” for mountain hiking tours

Stand Out with Wordplay

In the sea of ‘standard’ tour guide names, wordplay helps you stand out from the crowd. It shows creativity and thoughtfulness – qualities people appreciate when choosing their guides.

A great name doesn’t just describe what you do; it expresses how you see the world. And if you see it through word-shaped glasses, well, that’s something special!

Check out these unique tour guide names:

“Gnome More Boring Tours”

“Knight Life Castle Tours”

“Eiffel Over Touring Paris”

The Power of Laughter

Humor has positive effects on brand perception. A funny or witty name suggests that your company doesn’t take itself too seriously, which can be refreshing in today’s corporate-dominated world.

People love brands that seem human – those they can relate to on an emotional level rather than just as faceless entities providing services or products.

So next time you’re brainstorming tour guide name ideas, remember: humor is power! Don’t be afraid to let your funny side show because laughter could very well be the way into your customers’ hearts (and wallets).

Adventure-Themed Tour Company Names

Adventure is out there waiting for you to explore! And what better way to start than by choosing a dynamic, exciting name for your tour company?

Action-Packed Names

Action verbs pack a punch. They scream adventure and excitement. Consider names like “Rapid Rivers Rafting,” “Climb Peaks Tours,” or “Dive Deep Sea Expeditions.” These tour company name ideas not only describe the unique experiences offered but also appeal to thrill-seekers who are always ready for their next adventure.

Geographical Features

Geographical features can add an extra layer of intrigue to your tour company names . Think about where your tours take place and incorporate those elements into your company name. If you’re leading treks up rugged mountains, how about “Rocky Ridge Adventures”? Or if you’re guiding river rafting trips, try something like “Whitewater Wonders” or “River Rush Tours.”

Mountain Majesty Tours

Ocean Odyssey Travel Company

Canyon Quest Journeys

These names immediately transport potential customers to the location of their future adventures.

Unique Experiences

Highlighting the unique experiences offered by your travel company can be a great way to stand out from the crowd. Night safaris? Underwater tours? Make these exciting offerings part of your tour business’s identity.

For example:

Starlight Safari Explorations

Undersea Adventure Tours

Moonlit Jungle Journeys

Each of these tour business names promises a travel experience that goes beyond the ordinary.

Remember,It’s all about creating a sense of adventure and excitement while highlighting what makes your tours unique. Whether it’s action-packed activities, stunning geographical features, or one-of-a-kind experiences – let these elements shine in your chosen name.

So go ahead, explore the possibilities and embark on this journey towards finding that perfect adventure-themed tour company name!

Considerations for International Business Names

Choosing a name for your business is like choosing a name for your baby. It requires thought, creativity, and consideration of various factors. Especially when you’re targeting an international audience, the stakes are even higher.

Avoid Negative Connotations

Firstly, it’s crucial to avoid any words or phrases that might have negative connotations in other languages or cultures. You don’t want to offend potential customers before they’ve even had a chance to experience your offerings! For example:

The car model “Nova” by Chevrolet didn’t do well in Spanish-speaking countries because “No va” translates to “doesn’t go” in Spanish.

Pepsi’s slogan “Come alive with the Pepsi Generation” was interpreted as “Pepsi brings your ancestors back from the grave” in Chinese.

So, be sure to research thoroughly and use resources such as a business name generator to ensure cultural appropriateness.

Choose Universally Understood Words

Next up is selecting universally understood words or phrases. This will make it easier for customers across different regions to grasp what your business does. Think about company names like Apple, Amazon, or Uber – simple yet powerful names that resonate globally.

Easy Pronunciation

Another important factor is ensuring easy pronunciation across different languages. If people struggle to say your business name, they’re less likely to remember it or recommend it to others. One way around this could be using acronyms – IBM (International Business Machines) is an excellent example of this approach.

Check Name Availability

Lastly, always check if the chosen business name is already used internationally. You don’t want legal issues down the line because another company has already trademarked that name! Various online tools can help you with this task.

Securing a .com Domain and Trademarks

Importance of .com domains.

Imagine your tour guide business is like a house. Your domain name, particularly a .com domain, acts as your address on the internet. It’s how potential clients locate you online. Having a .com domain lends credibility to your business and boosts visibility among internet users.

Companies like Amazon have solidified their presence in the United States and globally by securing a .com domain. It’s not just about having an online presence; it’s about standing out from the crowd. So, before settling on one of your tour guide name ideas, check for domain availability.

Domain Availability: Several resources offer this service, allowing you to confirm if your preferred domain is up for grabs or already taken.

Domain Registration: If available, register it pronto! You don’t want to lose that perfect .com address for your LLC.

Registering Trademarks

Once you’ve secured your domain name, it’s time to think about protecting it – enter trademarks. A trademark shields your brand identity from being exploited by others in the same industry.

Here are some steps involved:

Trademark Search: Before filing an application, conduct a thorough search on the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s database.

Application Process: If there are no conflicts, proceed with filing an application with all necessary information.

Patience is Key: The approval process can take several months so sit tight!

Protecting your brand identity isn’t just good practice; it can save you from potential legal headaches down the line.

Potential Legal Issues

Infringing on someone else’s trademark rights isn’t just bad manners; it can land you in hot water legally speaking. Imagine having to rebrand because another company has claimed ownership over your tour guide name idea? Not cool!

So remember:

Check for domain availability before finalizing any names.

Register trademarks promptly after establishing a unique identity.

Securing a .com domain and registering trademarks may seem like tedious tasks but they’re vital steps towards crafting an unforgettable brand image online while safeguarding against potential legal issues down the road.

Final Thoughts on Naming Process

Alright, so we’ve been through a lot. We’ve brainstormed creative and catchy tour guide name ideas, discussed the power of memorable and easy-to-spell names, played around with humor and wordplay, explored adventure-themed names, considered international business name factors, and even talked about securing a .com domain and trademarks. Phew!

So what’s the bottom line? Your tour guide business name matters big time! It’s your first impression, your brand identity, and it can make or break your success.

Don’t be afraid to get creative. Use humor or wordplay if it fits your brand personality. Consider an adventure theme if you’re all about thrill-seeking experiences.

Keep in mind that your name should be easy to remember and spell. This will help potential customers find you online easily.

If you’re thinking globally (which is awesome by the way), consider how your chosen name translates into other languages.

And don’t forget about securing a .com domain for your business as well as checking for any trademark issues.

Now it’s over to you! Get out there and start brainstorming some killer tour guide names!

What should I consider when naming my tour guide business?

When naming your tour guide business, consider factors like memorability, ease of spelling, humor or wordplay (if it suits your brand), adventure themes (if relevant), international translation considerations (for global businesses), domain availability (.com is best), and trademark issues.

Is using humor in my tour guide business name a good idea?

Humor can be a great tool in creating a memorable business name but only if it fits with your brand personality. If you’re running serious historical tours for example, humor might not be appropriate.

How important is having an easy-to-spell tour guide business name?

It’s very important! Having an easy-to-spell name helps potential customers find you online more easily which could lead to more bookings for you!

Should I secure a .com domain for my tour guide business?

Definitely! Securing a .com domain adds credibility to your business. Plus it makes finding you online easier for customers.

How do I check for trademark issues with my chosen tour guide business name?

You can conduct an initial search through the U.S Patent & Trademark Office’s database to check if there are any registered trademarks similar to yours.

How to choose a catchy name for your new tour

Carla Vianna

There are a million and one things to check off when you’re just starting your tour business .

Coming up with tour names is one of them.

This action item may seem like a piece of cake until you realize how important a tour name can be.

Your tour titles can help make your company visible on Google and attract the right audience. If you have found yourself struggling to come up with a tour name that conveys the right message and stands out to your customers, you’re not alone.

The truth is that there’s no magic formula. Yet there are a few strategies that can help you create catchy tour titles that delight your guests. In this post, you’ll learn how to choose the right tour name for your new tours.

How do you name a tour?

Should I name my tour(s) the same as my company?

6 strategies for coming up with catchy tour names

1. hint at the nature of the experience, 2. deliver a clear message, 3. keep it seo-friendly, 4. make it rhyme, 5. consider the location, 6. think about your audience, how do you name a tour .

The main purpose behind a tour name is to tell your customers what kind of experience you can offer them. The challenge is to find the right words that can reflect that.

There are many ways to approach this. You can create a name based on the location of the tour or the kind of tour. You can try to make it rhyme or go for a play-on-words that fits the activity.

As your brainstorming ideas, consider the following questions:

  • Where does the tour take place?
  • What kind of tour are you offering?
  • What’s the main activity on this tour?
  • What makes this tour unique?
  • Who is this tour for?
  • What keywords do you want to rank for on Google?
  • What’s the competition like for my tour?

Next, you can make a list of the highlights of your tour. For example, if you’re a helicopter tour company in New York City, consider the most exciting moments of your flight.

Flying over the Empire State Building might be one of them. In this case, you can try to incorporate that highlight into your tour title. It may look something like “NYC Empire State Building Helicopter Tour.”

Before you settle on a name, it’s a good idea to check on your competition:

  • How many other companies are offering helicopter tours in NYC?
  • Are they all named the same way? If so, your tour company can easily get lost in the mix.

This is when you’ll need to get creative and find a name that stands out. A name that simply describes the location and activity may not be enough. When that’s the case, refer to one of the many helpful tips for coming up with catchy tour names below.

Should I name my tour(s) the same as my company?

Tour operators that focus on one specific tour type in one location will likely include both in their business names. For example, a boat tour in Portland, Maine, may very well be named “Portland, Maine Boat Tours.”

In this case, if the boat tour operator only offers one tour, it may be very similar to the name of the company.

Most of the time, though, your tour names will be different from your business name. Your tour names should be catchy enough to grab your customers’ attention — and clear enough to convey the right message.

Let’s say you’re a sightseeing tour provider, and you offer several different types of tours. Your company is called “Chicago Sightseeing Tours.” You have walking tours, bike tours, and boat tours.

You want people to understand the difference between each of your sightseeing tours. In this case, you wouldn’t name your tours the same name as your company. You’ll name each tour based on the unique activity and highlights in each.

What makes a “catchy” tour name? The objective is to make your customers stop scrolling and click on your tour listing. You want to catch their attention and reel them in with your creative use of words. We know this is easier said than done, which is why we’ve compiled these six strategies to help you.

A tour name should correctly represent the experience that’s taking place. A snorkeling tour, for instance, should convey that the experience happens in the water. Here are two examples:

  • Avery’s Underwater Adventure in Maui
  • Full-Day Snorkel and Sunset Tour in Maui

From a search engine perspective, it’s a good idea to include the activity in your tour name. This will make it easier for your website to rank for those keywords on Google. However, research your competition before doing so. There could be many similarly-named tours in your area.

If you run a challenging hiking tour, perhaps the name “A Stroll Through The Woods” isn’t the most accurate — or appealing — name.

Let’s say you’re a hiking guide in Colorado. You likely have several different tours available for different regions and mountains. Your tour name should reflect the type of hike you offer as well as its location. Here are two examples:

  • Pikes Peak Hiking Guide
  • Colorado Hiking Tour: Pikes Peak Summit

Both of these tour names suggest that this tour is a mountain hike. They also indicate which mountain in Colorado: Pikes Peak.

Keep in mind that you don’t have to convey the full message in your tour title. The duration of the hike, a list of things to bring, and meet-up time, for example, will be in your tour description . As for the title, the goal is to deliver the main message in the shortest amount of words possible.

Google ranks your website based on keywords present in your content. Keywords are words or phrases that describe your tours.

When someone searches for “walking tours in Paris,” the company “Free Tours by Foot” appears in the first 10 search results. Ranking on the first page of Google highly increases the chances that users will click on your link.

These customers are specifically searching for the experience you’re offering, and many of them are ready to hit “book.” This is why Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is so effective at driving direct bookings.

Consider the keywords you want your company to rank for when you’re naming your tours. This almost always includes your location. That way, you attract travelers looking for tours in your city or state. Next, think about what a guest might search for when interested in participating in the tours you’re offering.

Use these keywords to create a catchy title for your tours.

An easy way to make your tour name sound catchy is through rhyming. A tour name like Sky-High Zipline Tour rolls off the tongue. It also does a good job at catching adventurous travelers’ attention who might want to know how high “sky-high” actually is.

Think about where you operate. Is it known for anything in particular? Many places have common phrases that reference the unique cultural values or character of a city. New York, for example, has the “I love NYC” tagline. A helicopter tour company may use that tagline for a tour that flies over the city’s most iconic monuments: “I Love NYC Helicopter Tour.”

Earlier in this post, we asked you to think about your audience. Who are your tours for? Now think about how you can best appeal to these specific customers.

For example, a food tour company that’s promoting itself to millennial travelers may use a catchy and cool term like “foodie.”

  • Chicago Foodie Tour: Beyond the Deep Dish

Another example is using the term “like a local” to appeal to travelers looking for cultural experiences off the beaten tourist path.

  • Paris Culinary Tour: Shop, Cook, and Eat Like a Local
  • Paris Walking Tour: See Paris Like a Local

All three of these tour titles use language that appeals to a specific group of guests — which makes it that much easier to attract them.

Your tour names are a powerful aspect of your tour business. They can help you rank on Google, bring in the right customers, and set you apart from your competitors. With these strategies, you’ll be prepared to create catchy tour names that’ll increase your direct bookings.

Guide: How To Name Your Business

Why is your business name important.

Your business name is one of the single most important pieces to starting a business.

Because your business name has power.

It reflects your reputation, your mission, values, and represents what people (and customers) are searching for.

It impacts the way in which people remember, refer you, and perceive your business

When choosing your business name, there's a lot to think about in order to get it right - so it's important not to rush this process.

Let's take a look at everything you need to consider before deciding on a business name:

Tips To Consider When Naming Your Tour Company:

Simple is always better

This means a few different things. Your tour company name should always be:

  • Easy to spell
  • Easy to pronounce
  • Easy to remember

Consider avoiding long names as much as possible, as this will only lead your customers forgetting your name and feeling frustrated.

To test this point, try to think of any well-known reputable brand off the top of your head.

The first that come to mind for me are Alexa, Google, Nike, Apple - each unique in their own way (hence, easy to remember) , less than six characters and easy to spell.

Your Business Name Should Define What You Do

The name of your business should reflect a defining characteristic of what you do.

Before your customer goes to your website or speaks to you, the name of your business should spark some initial thoughts in their brain as to what you're all about.

For example, marketingexamples.com describes exactly what their company is about: providing great examples of marketing tactics.

Consider SEO When Naming Your Business

Bottom line: If you don't show up in google, you're going to make it that much more challenging for customers to find you.

There are several different aspects to think about when it comes to SEO & naming your tour company:

  • Try not to pick a business name that's crowded with other businesses
  • Consider naming your business based on highly searched keywords
  • Make sure the name of your business matches search intent and what people are looking for

Think about the emotions you want to evoke

Your business name has the power to evoke certain emotions and thoughts from your customer.

It has the ability to evoke a positive or a negative feeling. An inclusive or an exclusive feeling. A fearful or a loving feeling.

It's not to say that any of these feelings are wrong, but it's important to ensure that they are in line with your values and mission.

For example, the brand Death's Door makes me feel a bit risky and uncertain - but that's the point. They're selling Gin.

Try Not To Pick Something Too Limiting

Your business name should be fitting for the future and growth of your business , that way you don't have to confront a re-brand down the road.

If you choose something too narrow, it may be challenging to diversify your product and revenue streams down the road.

Here are some tips to avoid making this mistake:

  • Try not to name the business after a particular geographical area (this makes it hard to grow in other areas)
  • Try not to name the business after only one product you sell
  • Try not to name something based on a current trend

Brainstorming Names For Your Business

If you're in the brainstorming phase and trying to come up with a business name, there are a few key things to think about in order to get the juices flowing:

  • Write out a list of words that reflect your brand, personality, team etc. These should be the first things that come to your mind and you shouldn't have to think too hard about it.
  • Look at competition in the space and see if there's a common theme. Write down some key words or phrases that resonate with you and add them to the list.
  • Think about the emotion you want to evoke with your business name
  • Ask yourself: If I had to describe my business in one word, what would it be?

From there, you can create a shortlist based on the words that resonate best with you and follow the naming guidelines above.

Tips on naming your business

In addition to the requirements from the State, there are some general naming guidelines that may help you down the road as well.

We've put together a full guide here for naming your business here but will also cover the most critical pieces below:

Is your URL available? Social media handles?

Other general naming tips

Examples of Great Business Names

When choosing a business name, it's critical that you look at other examples of businesses not only in your space, but business names in other industries that have done particularly well.

Here are a few examples of great business names (+ how some of these businesses came up with their name):

Competitor Analysis Example

One great way to name your business is by looking at the competition and getting inspiration.

Gia Paddock, founder of Boutique Rye analyzed other businesses in the space and added her own personal spin to her business name:

A popular national brick & mortar women’s boutique that many may have heard of is called Francesca’s… How original, right? So we came up with Boutique Rye named after our son, Riley. We put "boutique" in front to be a little different.

The name "Boutique Rye" checks the boxes for naming a business:

  • Short and simple
  • Easy to spell and easy to remember
  • Clearly defines what the company does
  • Optimized for SEO (people searching for boutiques)
  • Unique and personal touch - tells a story.

Ask Other People

Sometimes, coming up with a name is as easy as asking other people, whether that be friends, family, people at a coffee shop, or in Spyq Sklar case, his own customer!

How we came up with the name Cat Sushi :

So, we put together a quick business plan and set aside some money that we were willing to risk. One of our loyal customers actually came up with the name. We still give them free cat food.

Read the full story ➡️ here

The name "Cat Sushi" checks all the boxes for naming a business:

  • Memorable and funny
  • Obvious that they sell treats for cats
  • Fun & unique story - their customer literally came up with the name of their business!

The Amazon Example

Formerly called "Cadabra", Jeff Bezos decided that the name was too obscure, hard to spell, and easy to misinterpret.

The name Amazon came from a simple dictionary search .

Jeff Bezos wanted something that started with an A, looked through a dictionary and came up with the word Amazon.

When he told his team, he didn't care for anyone else's input. He was set on it.

Here's how the word "Amazon" checks all the boxes (aside from being worth a trillion dollars):

  • Represents the largest river in the world, making it very memorable
  • The story and meaning of the word matches the vision of the company: To be the larger and better than any other business!
  • The name allows for future growth opportunity - they didn't name something specific to just "books," even though at the time, that's what it was.
  • Easy to spell, pronounce and recommend!

name your tour

What is it about a tour business name that makes it stick with you? Humour, fancy acronyms or play-on-words all have their place in the travel industry. Ever wonder how some companies land on their tour name?

When you are just starting a tour operator business , you have to come up with a name that stands out in people’s minds. A memorable tour name helps to curate brand recognition and bring more customers your way. And as people grow to be familiar with your tour brand , they’ll develop a positive association with it.

What’s in a tour business name?

A tour name can have a polarizing effect on people. It should define your tour business type, give guests an idea of what you offer and speak to your values, like if you offer ethical travel and tours .

With many different types of businesses in the tourism and travel industry, it’s vital to capture your audience’s attention with just a few words. In trying to figure out how to attract potential customers to your tour business, ask yourself the following questions:

  • What do you want your business to stand for?
  • How do you want your tour business to fit into the market
  • How do you want your tour business to work for you?

Tourpreneur addresses some common challenges when it comes to naming a tour business. You want to land on something that’s fun, memorable and sets your tour business apart. And ideally, you want your name to accurately represent the experiences you set out to provide.

Is there a secret sauce to choosing a name? Maybe a little bit.

Let’s take a look at how Google reads your website.

Google defines keywords as words or phrases that describe your product or service. They’re how search engines match websites with terms people are looking for.

When looking for keywords to use for a good tour name, aim to pick terms that will attract the right audience to your site. The best way to do this is to get specific.

It’s also a good idea to use your name your tour business after the area you’re located in. That way you capture audiences looking for activities or tours in your city or town. Remember, your goal is to attract people who are interested in an experience where you are located.

Google understands when words are related and searches for keywords on your site based on your link structure. So, it might be worthwhile to include a few common keywords that prospective guests use throughout your main web pages as well as in your tour name, if you can.

how to pick the right tour name

This is where Search Engine Optimization (SEO) comes in. And before your eyes glaze over, I hope to simplify how SEO impacts your tour business.

Choosing based on sentimental value or having to explain can be challenging for climbing search engine ranks.

  • Do you have a lot of competition for the name?
  • What are your unique selling propositions (USPs)?
  • How do you attract guests?
  • What demographic do you tend to attract?
  • Is the website name available?

SEO involves adding elements to your site so search engines (like Google) can find and rank you. And while quirky statements or deliberate misspellings aren’t always savvy for SEO, they can help you to stand out with the right tactics.

To better understand how customers find you , explore tools like Google Analytics and Google Search Console to see which keywords prospective customers are already using to find your tour business.

The basics of tour name SEO:

  • Identify what your customers are searching for
  • Learn how to create content that will match their query
  • Set your site up so Google can find and understand it

While SEO can be intimidating, understanding the basics can have a huge effect on your website traffic, and ultimately your bottom line. So what does this all have to do with naming your tour?

Well, with nearly 85% of travelers using their smartphones to book travel activities online, guests are likely using a search engine to find what they’re looking for. If you want modern travelers to book your tours and activities you have to be available online. Even more importantly, they have to be able to find you on the web and it all starts with a good tour name.

choosing a cycling tour name

How to find tour name ideas

Happen to find yourself in an emerging market or have little competition? Choose a straightforward name that has the activity and location right within the name. Potential guests are going to search for experiences by typing in the activity type in a specific location.

Imagine as a guest in a major city, that tours are offered by bike, boat or on foot. How will travelers narrow their search?

To help guests find you, be specific and simplify your name to detail the activity, location and tour type you offer. Descriptions help to provide a compelling reason to book with you if guests are looking for an easygoing pace on their tour.

The goal is to use as few words as possible to help future guests find your tour business. Simplicity can help your online presence. Make sure to include keywords for the type of tour you offer, your location, and any subcategory or distinct feature. Try using the template of both category and name:

Category :    Location & Keyword for Tour   Name: Distinguishing feature

For example: Category: Victoria by Bike Name: The Pedaler : Victoria Bike Tours

Aim to choose a short, easy-to-spell name with two to five words. But what if you offer multiple activities under one business umbrella? Is there a defining word that can work to allude to the types of activities you provide?

Still struggling to choose a tour name that works? Try this tour business name generator tool or this online name generator which conveniently lets you know whether the domain name is available, too.

Examples of clever tour names

  • Two Wheelin’ Bike Tours
  • Rapid Cycling Bikes
  • Pedaling about [City] Cycling Tours
  • [ City ] Bikes and Brews – Brewery tours by Bike
  • Spokes and Snacks — Scenic Bike Rides in the Pacific NorthWest

Pretend your name is Ronan and you live in Scotland where you operate Row Boat tours in Lochness Lake. Does the name Ronan’s Rowboat Tours sound both catchy and descriptive?

If you’re considering this tour name for the long term, is there the potential that you may want to scale in the future? And if so, what would happen if a person named Linsday wants to run this type of rowboat tours in another City. Does the name still make sense?

  • Scenic [ City ] Tours by Boat
  • Boat Tours [ City ]
  • Water Adventure Tours
  • Paddling [City] Tours
  • Taste of [City] Food Tours
  • [your name] [City] Smorgasbord
  • Gastronomy by [your name] [City]

Walking Tour

  • Walking in [City]
  • Wake up [City] Walking Tours
  • [City] by Foot Walking Tours
  • Pacing about Portland – if you enjoy alliteration

Instead, if you name your business something like “Cloggin’ about Chicago” most people know that clogs are shoes and can put the two together. Still, it might be a stretch. Ideally, you want to squeeze in the most basic version of what you offer in your name.

Better yet, name your tour company using layperson’s terms like Inner [City] Walking Tours. By naming your tour after the location and activity, you’ll answer the main questions guests will have. In your tour description, you’ll be able to further niche down what you offer.

how to choose a kayaking tour name

What happens if your tour name is already taken?

You may notice a lot of similarities when it comes to tour names. If you’re in a saturated market, it’s best to eerr on the side of caution. Try to make sure you’re not borrowing someone else’s name for the sake of simplicity.

For instance, if you run walking tours, there’s a good chance your competition will also have “walking tours” in their name. To avoid conflict, see if you can get more creative by adding in something instead like Frankly Fun Food Tours or [your name] Classic Culinary Adventures. You can be a bit cheeky but there are too many clever names available to be a copycat in a competitive industry.

To give you a first-hand account, Tourpreneuer tackled this topic in the podcast episode with Lauren McCabe sharing how she built up and chose the name for her food business.

For scalability, steer clear of using your own name. Unless you’re Rick Steeves’ — globally known tour guide, then it’s probably a good call to brand your tour company as Rick Steeves tours.

But, not all is lost if you find yourself with a name buddy. Your solution? Amp up your marketing efforts. Picture more video marketing, a heightened social media presence. Be ready to adapt and identify areas where your business shines. No need to get petty with another business, provided they’re not copy-catting your business name.

Final thoughts

Words are powerful and when it comes to first impressions, they can hold a lot of weight. Choosing a tour name is one element of creating a successful tour business. So, if you can land on a catchy tour name that aligns with your values and provides memorable experiences for guests, you’re well on your way to building your tour brand.

Consider how people find you and what they’re looking for in an experience. Then, aim to have your tour name be representative of the type of activity guests are searching for. Ideally, you want to take your time selecting your brand name because it’s likely to stick with you for as long as you’re in operation.

From here, add detailed descriptions to help your tours stand out to travelers. By choosing a tour name that represents the type of business you plan to run and describes what you offer, you make it that much easier for guests to book an experience with you as they search online for their next adventure.

Tips for naming your travel agency

Types of travel agency names, bottom line.

Picking the right name for your travel agency is an important first step in making your business vision a reality. Your agency name will show up everywhere — branding, invoices , contracts — so it should capture your specialty, personality, and plans to grow.

This article looks at different types of travel agencies and suggests hundreds of potential names in different categories to spark ideas. Read on for insights and inspiration as you name your company!

Naming your travel biz is about more than just a clever name. Your name sets the tone for your whole brand and shows how you help clients fulfill their travel dreams. As you brainstorm names, keep these tips in mind:

Show off what you do

What is rule #1 when naming a travel agency? Make sure your specialty is clear. Tour companies, cruise sellers, niche travel agents — your name should instantly tell people what you do. This helps attract great customers by setting expectations around your services.

When potential clients get what you offer, they can tell if you're a fit for their needs.

Share your personality

Your company name also captures the heart of your business. It hints at what makes you tick - your passions, perspectives, and what makes your approach unique.

Ask yourself: What values do I operate under? What travel principles guide me? You don't need to lay out detailed philosophies. But well-chosen words give a taste of your travel style to hook the right folks.

Be memorable

Being descriptive ties into showcasing your specialty. A name that tells people what you do sticks in their minds and spreads brand awareness by word-of-mouth.

But you also want something unique and fresh. Short, snappy names using rhymes, wordplay, or travel symbols make you pop.

Allow room to grow

While you probably start by specializing, ensure your name leaves room to expand someday. Many travel agents start a niche and then add more trips once they build a client base. Leave space to add cruise or family vacation planning down the road. See if your dream name limits you or offers flexibility.

Check availability & trademarks

This one's obvious but critical: search online to see if your desired name exists. Look nationwide for same-name travel businesses to avoid confusion between brands. Ideally, grab matching URLs, social handles, and trademarks to own your name fully. You can use a website like Namechk to quickly search if your name is available across various social media platforms.

Also, be mindful of any trademarks for existing names. If you plan on starting a travel agency in the US, be sure to browse through the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) search database . If you’re outside of the US, be sure to check with your local laws and regulations.

With so many kinds of travel companies, it's smart to pick a name tailored to your specialty. Every sector takes its own approach to descriptive, memorable titles.

As we break down popular niches, decide how to highlight your ideal travel specialty through naming. Here are the niches we will go through:

Tour operators

Travel advisors, specialty travel, luxury travel agencies, group tour agencies, online travel agencies, travel services firms, transportation logistics agencies, niche travel agencies.

Experts at leading guided adventures and tour operators handle all trip logistics — from 10 to 10,000 guests. Their names often emphasize exciting global places that highlight their destinations and options.

Creative names of the amazing spots they travel to clearly share their worldwide travel knowledge.

What makes a good travel agency name?

A good travel agency name should be memorable, unique and reflect the personality and expertise you bring as a travel agent. To find a name that's perfect for you, start by thinking about the vibe you want to create. For example, do you want your agency to be known for its luxurious, high-end travel experiences or its budget-friendly, accessible vacations? It's also a good idea to pick a travel agency name that isn't too specific. Instead of naming your tour company "Saturday Escapes," you could go for "Escape Expert" or “Mr. Getaway Guide” to give you flexibility around your offerings. Keeping the right adjectives in mind can help create the feeling you want travelers to have when they see your travel agency name. Remember, your agency name is a huge part of your brand identity, so make sure it represents your personality, resonates with your target clients and leaves a lasting impression.

Get to know your target audience

Take time to understand how potential clients speak about agencies similar to yours. Make sure the name you choose fits their language and that the content you’re putting out speaks to their needs.

See what your competitors are doing in order to stand out in the crowd. The name you come up with should be different, bold and unforgettable. Be sure to run a thorough search to make sure the name you want isn’t already taken.

Plan for the future

If you plan on going global, check that the name you choose has positive connotations in different languages. Mapping out marketing campaigns in advance can also help you decide if the name will stay relevant in the future.

Get feedback on your new name

Once you’ve chosen a name that you like, run it past potential clients or people in your industry to see what they think. Take note of their comments and reactions, and keep in mind any biases they may have.

Keep in mind that .com and .net are the most common top-level domains, so make sure that your chosen name is not already taken. With so many companies existing online, it can be hard to find an available domain for your new business. Identify the Key Features of the Tour

One of the first steps to choosing a catchy tour name is to identify the key features of your tour. What makes your tour unique and different from others? What are the main attractions, activities, and experiences that you offer? Brainstorm a list of words and phrases that describe these features and capture their essence. For example, some key features of a tour might be:

  • The destination : where are you taking your guests? Is it a popular or a hidden gem? Is it a city or a countryside? Is it a cultural or a natural site?
  • The transportation : how are you getting there? Is it by plane, train, bus, car, bike, boat, or something else? Is it comfortable and convenient or adventurous and exciting?ư
  • The duration : how long is your tour? Is it a day trip, a weekend getaway, a week-long vacation, or a longer journey?
  • The group size : how many people are on your tour? Is it a private or a group tour? Is it a small or a large group? Is it a family-friendly or an adults-only tour?
  • The theme: what is the main focus of your tour? Is it history, culture, art, food, wine, wildlife, adventure, wellness, or something else?

These are some examples of possible features that you can use to brainstorm tour name ideas. You can also use other sources of inspiration, such as customer reviews, competitor analysis, keywords research, and industry trends. The more words and phrases you have, the more options you will have to create a catchy tour name that reflects your unique value proposition.

Define the Target Audience

Another important step to choosing a catchy tour name is to define your target audience. Who are you trying to attract with your tour? What are their demographics, interests, preferences, and motivations? Knowing your target audience will help you create a tour name that resonates with them and appeals to their emotions. Some factors to consider when defining your target audience are:

  • Age : how old are your ideal customers? Are they young adults, families, retirees, or something else?
  • Income : how much money do your ideal customers have to spend on travel? Are they looking for budget-friendly or luxury options?
  • Lifestyle : what kind of lifestyle do your ideal customers lead? Are they adventurous, relaxed, active, or cultural?
  • Language: what language do your ideal customers speak? Do they understand English, or do they need translations?
  • Culture : what cultural nuances do your ideal customers have? Do they have any preferences, values, beliefs, or customs you need to know?

For example, if you target adventurous people, use words like “wild”, or “off the beaten path”. If target couples, use words like “dreamy”, “cozy”, “intimate”, or “love”. By defining your target audience, you can choose words and phrases that match their needs, and avoid any terms that might be offensive.

Use Wordplay and Clever Puns

One of the best ways to create a catchy tour name is to use wordplay and clever puns. This technique can make your tour name memorable, fun, and intriguing. • Be tasteful : avoid using wordplay or puns that might be offensive, inappropriate, or insensitive. Remember to consider your tar

Keep it Short and Simple

Another tip to create a catchy tour name is to keep it short and simple. A concise tour name is easier to remember, pronounce, and spell. It also helps you avoid cluttering your tour name with unnecessary words or details that might dilute your message.

A short and simple tour name can also convey a clear and strong value proposition to your target audience. Some examples of short and effective tour names are:

Here are some tips to keep your tour name short and simple:

  • Use one or two words : try to limit your tour name to one or two words. If you need more words, use a colon or a dash to separate them.
  • Use keywords : use relevant, descriptive, and appealing words to your target audience. Avoid jargon, acronyms, or generic terms that might be confusing or boring.
  • Use alliteration or rhyme : use words that start with the same sound or end with the same sound to create a catchy and memorable tour name. For example, Paris in Pink, Wild West, or Costa Rica.

Use Emotional and Descriptive Language

For example, consider the difference between these two tour names:

Paris Sightseeing Tour Romantic Paris: A Love Affair with the City of Lights

The first is bland and generic, while the second is emotional and descriptive. The second one evokes feelings of romance, passion, and adventure and describes Paris as the city of lights, a common and appealing nickname. The second one also creates a sense of curiosity and intrigue, as the customers may wonder what kind of love affair they will have with Paris. The second one is clearly more catchy and appealing than the first one.

Some tips for using emotional and descriptive language in your tour name are:

  • Use adjectives that describe your tour’s mood, atmosphere, or experience. For example, magical, thrilling, relaxing, etc.
  • Use nouns that describe your tour’s destination, attraction, or activity. For example, paradise, adventure, safari, etc.
  • Use verbs that describe the action or outcome of your tour. For example, explore, discover, enjoy, etc.
  • Use words that appeal to the senses, such as sight, sound, smell, taste, or touch. For example, colorful, fragrant, delicious, etc.
  • Use words that trigger positive emotions in your customers, such as happiness, excitement, joy, etc. Avoid words that are negative, boring, or overused in your niche. For example, cheap, basic, standard, etc.

Consider the Tone of the Tour

The final factor to consider when choosing a catchy tour name is the tone of the tour. The tone of the tour refers to the style, personality, and attitude of the tour, and how it matches the expectations and preferences of your target audience. The tone of the tour can be formal or informal, serious or playful, educational or entertaining, etc. The tone of the tour should reflect the content, purpose, and value of the tour, as well as your travel agency’s brand identity and voice.

For example, if your tour is a historical and cultural tour of Rome, you may want to choose a tour name that is formal, serious, and educational, such as:

Rome: The Eternal City Ancient Rome: A Journey Through Time The Glory of Rome: Art, Architecture, and History

How to Choose a Catchy Tour Name Image 6

These tour names convey a sense of respect, authority, and knowledge and appeal to customers interested in learning more about the history and culture of Rome.

Kiwi Adventure: Explore New Zealand’s, Natural Wonders New Zealand: The Land of Hobbits and Dragons The Ultimate New Zealand Bucket List Tour

These tour names convey a sense of excitement, humor, and adventure and appeal to customers looking for a fun and memorable experience in New Zealand.

Some tips for considering the tone of the tour in your tour name are:

  • Think about your target audience and what they are looking for in a tour. What kind of tone would appeal to them?
  • Think about what your tour offers and what makes it unique. What kind of tone would match your tour content and value proposition?
  • Think about what your travel agency stands for and how you want to communicate with your customers. What kind of tone would reflect your brand identity and voice?
  • Choose words that convey the tone you want to create. For example, use formal words for a formal tone, casual words for an informal tone, etc.
  • Avoid words that clash with the tone you want to create. For example, don’t use slang words for a serious tone, technical words for a playful tone, etc.

Your travel agency’s name should reflect the unique selling point of your brand. Whether it is low prices, customized services, or luxurious experiences, choose a name that accurately reflects your brand’s core values.

4. Reflect on Your Target Audience

When selecting a name, keep your target audience in mind. Your name should be relevant and appeal to the specific group of customers you are targeting.

5. Avoid Using Cliches

Stay away from cliches and overused travel-related terms. Instead, choose a name that is fresh and stands out from the crowd.

6. Ensure Availability

Before finalizing the name, make sure to check that it is available for domain registration and social media handles so that you secure your brand name across all online platforms.

How to Start a Travel Agency Business

Starting a travel agency can be both exciting and overwhelming. With different types of travel agencies to choose from such as leisure, business, and wholesale, it’s important to find one that you’re passionate about and that your target audience will enjoy. Here are tips for choosing your type of travel agency.

1. Choose Your Niche

By choosing a specific focus for your travel agency, you can help attract the right clientele and stand out from the competition.

One potential niche to consider is adventure travel. This could include activities such as hiking or kayaking and destinations like national parks or tropical rainforests. To cater to these types of travelers, you will need to build relationships with adventure travel suppliers and have a deep knowledge of the destinations and activities you offer.

Another niche could be luxury travel. This could include high-end resorts, private tours, and exclusive experiences. To cater to these types of travelers, you will need to establish relationships with luxury travel suppliers and have a keen understanding of the needs and desires of affluent travelers.

2. Develop a Business Plan

A well-crafted business plan is essential for securing funding for your travel agency. It should include projected revenue, expenses, and cash flow. A strong business plan also demonstrates that you have conducted market research and have a clear understanding of your target audience.

3. Consider Your Funding Options

There are several ways to fund your travel agency, including loans, grants, and investors. Banks and other lending institutions offer small business loans with favorable interest rates. Grant programs provide free money to small businesses, while investors can provide both funding and expertise to help with your agency’s growth.

4. Prepare Your Documents

To secure funding, you will need to provide documentation such as financial statements or a solid business plan. Make sure that you have all the necessary documents ready and presentable to increase your chances of approval.

5. Network and Market Your Travel Agency

To attract funding and build a successful travel agency, you must network and market your business. Attend industry events, join professional associations, and use social media to establish connections and build your reputation as a travel agent.

6. Choose Your Business Structure

When starting a new business, one of the most important decisions you will make is choosing the right business structure. Your business structure will determine how your business is taxed, how much personal liability you have, and how much control you have over your business.

Sole Proprietorship

Sole proprietorship is an incredibly straightforward option, where a single individual owns and operates the business. It’s easy to set up and requires minimal paperwork. However, the owner is personally liable for all debts and legal obligations of the business, which can be a significant risk.

Limited Liability Company (LLC)

LLCs are a popular choice for small business owners as they offer protection from personal liability while retaining the benefits of a partnership. It’s a separate legal entity from its owners and requires the proper paperwork, including articles of organization and operating agreement.

However, LLCs have flexible tax options, as they can choose to be taxed as a partnership or corporation.

Partnership

Partnerships involve two or more individuals sharing ownership and responsibility for the business. It typically requires a partnership agreement to define each partner’s role, liability, and profit-sharing. While it’s an effective way to share risk and resources, the partners are liable for each other’s actions, and personal assets can be at risk. It’s crucial to discuss all potential risks with a legal or tax professional before deciding.

Corporation

A corporation is a separate legal entity from its owners, with shareholders holding ownership and decision-making power. It requires more paperwork and formalities than other structures, but with limited liability and separate taxation, corporations offer significant advantages for larger businesses.

7. Consider Opening a Business Bank Account

As your new travel agency grows, consider opening a business bank account . While it might seem tempting to mingle your personal and business finances, it’s crucial to keep them separate for several reasons.

First, maintaining separate accounts helps you keep track of business expenses and income and provides a clear picture of your cash flow. Second, it simplifies bookkeeping and accounting, essential for monitoring how your business is performing. Finally, having a business account shows lenders and investors that you’re serious about your business and capable of managing your finances responsibly.

Launching Your Travel Agency

Launching a travel agency can be a challenging process, but with careful planning, attention to detail, and dedication to providing exceptional customer service, it can be a highly rewarding and successful business venture for those with a passion for adventure and a desire to help others explore the world.

As you start your journey, you’ll want to have the best resources at hand. This is why you should consider working with doola . How to Name Your Tour company

It’s hard to believe, but naming your business is probably one of the most important tasks you’ll ever undertake as an entrepreneur. The name of your business will represent everything that you and your team have worked on for months or years. It will also be the first thing people see when they visit your website and the first words on your company’s letterhead. Here I will give some pointers on how to choose a name for your tour company.

1.      Think about what you want the name to convey.

Your branding is a big part of your business, which is why it makes sense to think about it from the start. What message does the name have to convey about your business? If you are considering a name that is based on a word that you can’t really be sure what it means you should probably avoid it.

Convey something meaningful and positive related to your business such as core value of your business.

2.      Brainstorm some possible tour company names.

Don’t just jump straight into a name. You need to have some cool tour company name ideas in your pocket before you go any further. If you don’t have any ideas, then you can do a Google search to find some examples that you like. Once you have some initial ideas then you can make notes on them, and you can start coming up with some more ideas.

Here are some best possible tour company name ideas:

  • Voyages Performance
  • Dolly Getaway
  • Voyages Fearless
  • Vacation Titans
  • Vacation Seon
  • Signals Vacation
  • Voyages Lessons
  • Puzzle Vacations

  • Vacation Petal
  • Jingle Voyage
  • Destinations Natural
  • Vacations Cubs

3.      Pick a memorable name.

You’ll want to consider how easy it is for people to remember your tour company name. Having said that, it is always a good idea to choose a name that is easy to spell and pronounce. If your customers don’t know how to pronounce the name, they will be less likely to remember it. Won’t it be free marketing if your customers easily remember your business name and can suggest it to their friends and family members?

The companies you admire typically have names that are short, simple, easy to write and easy to remember — Apple, Tesla, Virgin.

4.      Choose a name that can grow with your business.

You want to choose a name that won’t be outdated in a few years. It should also be able to grow with your business. If you know that you will be offering more products and services in the future, your name should be able to expand and contract as your business does.

Picking too narrow of a name may cause you problems down the road. Imagine if Jeff Bezos had picked the name “OnlineBooks” instead of “Amazon.”

Your business name must be unique. If it is too similar to an existing business name, it could be hard for your customers to differentiate. It might also get you into legal troubles.

7.      Leave your name out of your business.

It isn’t practical to use your name as a business name. Your name is used for your personal identity. Use a different name for your business.

Your name doesn’t communicate anything about your business and won’t mean much to potential customers. This may even cause problems if you ever want to sell your business in future or even if you wish to expand.

8.      Be sure your tour company name is not too long.

If the name is too long it will be difficult for people to remember. Some people have trouble remembering the names of their friends. So, if it is too long it might not be easy to remember. Think about how your customers will see your tour name in the marketplace.

About Porter Robinson:

At age 18, the North Carolina-based producer and songwriter burst onto the scene with a complex, bombastic brand of electro-house. Following the major success of his 2014 debut album Worlds , Porter released the RIAA Gold single “Shelter” with Madeon in 2016, followed by a Shelter Live Tour spanning 43 dates and four continents. The following year, Porter began releasing music under a new alias, Virtual Self, which led to his first Grammy nomination for the BBC Radio 1 hit single “Ghost Voices.” In 2019, Porter put on the first Second Sky Festival, which sold out all 30,000 tickets for the two-day festival in a single day. In both 2020 and 2021, Porter Robinson hosted editions of his virtual festival Secret Sky, amassing over 6 million viewers combined, and which came to be regarded as the most sophisticated virtual festivals of its time. Later in 2021, following the release of sophomore album Nurture, Second Sky Festival made its return to the Bay Area, selling out 40,000 tickets in a single day. Immediately following, the Nurture Live North American Tour sold over 150,000 concert tickets and was the highest grossing electronic tour of 2021. In 2022, in partnership with Riot Games, Robinson released “Everything Goes On” surpassing 100 million global streams . Later that year was his debut of one of two exclusive full live band performances, first at Second Sky 2022 and again in 2023 at the Coachella Main Stage.

Fans theorize that Taylor Swift is changing her Eras Tour setlist to include songs from her new album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”

Swift shared a black-and-white video collage of her practicing for the upcoming leg of her tour and added her new single, “Fortnight,” in the background to YouTube Shorts on Thursday.

The Grammy winner, 34, included several snippets of her wearing different athleisure outfits while holding a microphone, singing and dancing on different parts of the stage.

The “Cruel Summer” songstress even featured a snap of her playing her acoustic guitar and sitting at her signature mossy piano.

However, some eagle-eyed fans noticed a few differences in some of the clips from what she’s done in her past shows –– such as her background dancers wearing black top hats and canes.

Swift also appeared to be leaning on a silver pole that seemed to have a white “TTPD” sign hanging on the side of it. Fans additionally pointed out her white guitar and matching microphone.

Swift will resume her tour in Paris in two weeks –– aka a fortnight –– on May 9.

Several fans flooded the comments pointing out the changes and wrote about how convinced they are she’ll be swapping some songs for “TTPD” hits.

Swift has not released the setlist for her upcoming shows and she did not share the setlist before she kicked off the tour in Arizona in March 2023.

The “Shake it Off” songstress previously sang 44 songs on every show and swapped out two songs each concert that were acoustic “surprise songs” not included in the same setlist.

After Paris, Swift will hit several European countries, including Sweden, Spain and Portugal, before wrapping up in London in August.

Fletcher on healing, her new album and being back on tour

NPR's Juana Summers speaks with Cari Fletcher, who goes by the stage name FLETCHER, about her newest album "In Search Of The Antidote" and what it's like to be back on tour.

(SOUNDBITE OF SONG, "TWO THINGS CAN BE TRUE" )

FLETCHER: (Singing) Did we take it too far? Maybe.

JUANA SUMMERS, HOST:

Last spring Carrie Fletcher realized something was wrong - like, more than just the stress of a worldwide concert tour, a deep fatigue that caused long-term concern for her singing voice as well.

FLETCHER: When I had to take the tour down and I saw, you know, applauses get quiet and social media get quiet and then all of the things, you're really forced to, like, look at yourself in the mirror and really decide and see what, you know, your worth is outside of all of those things. Like, there was a lot of silence.

SUMMERS: Turns out it was Lyme disease, and so Carrie, who goes by Fletcher onstage, found herself facing a major physical recovery and a lot of unprocessed mental health to work through. She went back to her hometown in New Jersey, and with all that downtime, she started writing a new album to be called "In Search Of The Antidote."

(SOUNDBITE OF SONG, "ANTIDOTE")

FLETCHER: (Singing) I get high. I get high. I get low. I get low. You're my dopamine state. You're my sanity dose. I get high.

SUMMERS: A year later, Fletcher is out on the road again, singing this new album to her loyal fans. We caught her earlier this week on a day off in Germany, and she was stoked about being back.

FLETCHER: To return back to a sold-out tour with all of these beautiful fans and, you know, like, scream-singing these songs back to me that - some of which I wrote from such a place of desperation but also a place of, like, hope and happiness and love and excitement for the future and - I pinch myself all the time when I get to a new country that I've never even been to before and they're singing word for word with me. It's like - it's insane that this is my job.

SUMMERS: Is there a favorite moment that you could share from the tour that you're on now that really just drives it home for you?

FLETCHER: People have been bringing crazy signs to the show. I have a song called "Becky's So Hot," and there's a point where I'm, like, grinding on a mic stand. And so the fans started doing this thing where they're like, can I be the human mic stand?

(SOUNDBITE OF SONG, "BECKY'S SO HOT")

FLETCHER: (Singing) Are you in love like we were? If I were you, I'd probably keep her - makes me want to hit her when I see her 'cause Becky's so hot in your vintage T-shirt.

There was a sign yesterday that said, truth or dare. And I saw it, and I picked dare. And then she folded the card over again, and it was like, I dare you to let me be your mic stand tonight. Somebody came to a concert dressed up as a microphone to the concert, and I was like, the commitment is real.

SUMMERS: I mean, this album - it's got rage and joy and lust and mess, which is something that you have certainly never shied away from mining, like in the lead single, "Eras Of Us," which I have heard is about running into your ex at Taylor Swift's Eras tour - true story?

FLETCHER: Yes. Truth or dare - that is the truth.

(SOUNDBITE OF SONG, "ERAS OF US")

FLETCHER: (Singing) It's nice to meet you.

Yeah. I had not seen my ex since the day that we had broken up, and we bumped into each other at the Taylor Swift concert. You know, to be at this show where both of us were, like, screaming these songs to an artist that has narrated so many of my breakups, so many of my romances - I just got hit with, you know, a wave of emotion of all of the eras of us, of her and I.

FLETCHER: (Singing) A story of love, stealing the air right from my lungs. Girl of my dreams, forever we're young. Remember it just the way it was, the eras of us.

And I think that's something I always really try to do with my music - is just to drop people into a really specific scene, into a really specific moment. And it's one of my favorite songs I've ever written. It just feels like a story.

SUMMERS: I wonder if you can tell us the story behind one of the songs on the album, "Doing Better," because that song's gotten stuck in my head - this idea of what better really is, why better feels worse.

FLETCHER: Yeah. Wow. I actually have a song on my last album - I have a song called "Better Version," and the lyric ends with, and now some other person's going to get the better version...

(SOUNDBITE OF SONG "BETTER VERSION")

FLETCHER: (Singing) Of me.

...Of me. Just in the last couple months, I was reflecting on, OK, well, what is the better version of me doing? And is she actually doing better? And I wrote a song called "Doing Better" that just really reflects on all the ways of, like, so many of the ways that my career had taken off...

(SOUNDBITE OF SONG, "DOING BETTER")

FLETCHER: (Singing) I'm doing better. I don't know if you remember when I told you in September that you wouldn't recognize me.

...Getting to do all these, like, incredible, incredible things and perform in all these places. And I felt awful.

FLETCHER: (Singing) I felt like I was flying. I felt the stars aligning. I always thought that if I ever got this high, I'd like it. I'm doing better. I've been looking for my center, but my tummy still hurts. Why does better feel worse?

We're kind of sold this narrative of, like, you know, we should have this amount of success by this amount of age and this type of relationship and this degree and this job. And this idea, this dream of better, you know, that we all have - it doesn't feel good. And it's actually, like, the deeper stuff, the stuff that, like, we don't put on display is, like, where so much of the antidote really is.

(SOUNDBITE OF FLETCHER SONG, "GIRL OF MY DREAMS")

SUMMERS: I don't want to get too messy here on public radio, but I do have to ask you about the ladies. I mean, your songs - people call them queer love anthems and queer anthems. And I'm curious how much you think about where your music fits within the sphere of queer pop music. Is that something that's, like, front of mind for you at all?

FLETCHER: When I first started writing, I was, like, really just embarking on my journey with my sexuality and just, you know, when I started talking about all of it for the first time and just falling in love with a girl for the first time. And I never really set out with a specific mission of, like, oh, I need the music to be categorized as this. It was just like, I just need to be free.

(SOUNDBITE OF SONG, "GIRL OF MY DREAMS")

FLETCHER: (Singing) I'm on heartbreak No. 4. Tequila doesn't hit no more. I got a new rebound. I'm falling for me now.

When I think about where my music fits in terms of, you know, the scope of music, it's just - it's meant to go to whoever needs to find it. And my queer journey has been so embraced by the community, and I couldn't ask for anything more. But it's also just - you know, it's also so deeply universal, like, this idea of, like, belonging and...

SUMMERS: Right.

FLETCHER: ...Experiencing love for the first time.

SUMMERS: I mean, that's one of the things that strikes me, right? Whether you are dating a woman or married to a man, there's something really beautiful and universal with the way that you describe these intense and heartfelt and, at times, overwhelming feelings when it comes to love and lust and relationships and all of the spectrum in between there. It's something that works for everybody.

FLETCHER: Oh, I love that. Thank you. Yeah. It's - for me, it's always just - I've never wanted to - anyone to feel, like, alienated from the music, from the emotions, from the feelings. Like, I felt alienated for so long as a kid, you know? I just felt so in my own world and lonely and so sad. And to just - to find that sense of home, like, in myself and in my own music...

(SOUNDBITE OF SONG, "PRETENDING")

FLETCHER: (Singing) I say goodnight as if my heart isn't wrenching.

And that's really what it is for me. It's just, like, the feelings are universal. We all navigate it. We all go through it, no matter how you identify, like, orientation-wise, gender, you know, sexuality. It's - we're human.

SUMMERS: Carrie Fletcher, thank you so much.

FLETCHER: Thank you so much. I appreciate you. This was a really sweet conversation.

SUMMERS: Fletcher's newest album, "In Search Of The Antidote," is out now.

FLETCHER: (Singing) We'll keep on pretending.

Was the travel worth it? Beyoncé and Taylor Swift's summer concerts drew fans from afar

To determine the most affordable Eras Tour stops, Islands.com researchers compared the cost of a two-night trip, including one cheap ticket on StubHub.com, two nights at a four-star hotel, six inexpensive meals, two five-mile taxi rides, and one domestic beer. However, researchers didn’t account for airline tickets or concert merchandise.

With safety at the top of travelers' minds, the researchers also factored in the city’s safety rating out of 100.

Emma Stone says she'd love to be called by her real name at this point

The two-time oscar winner revealed that friends and co-stars usually call her by a different name., by ariana brockington | today • published april 25, 2024 • updated on april 25, 2024 at 11:26 pm.

After years in the spotlight, Emma Stone is ready to reclaim her real name.

The actor, who won her second Oscar in March, recently revealed in an interview with  The Hollywood Reporter  that close friends and co-stars typically refer to her by a different name.

Stone spoke to the outlet in a joint interview with her “The Curse” co-star Nathan Fielder. Near the beginning of their sit-down, Fielder told THR that he planned to call Stone her actual name, which is Emily, during the chat.

“ Before we continue, I’d like to say something. Her name’s Emily, but she goes by Emma professionally,” he explained.  “So when there’s people that don’t know her, I end up saying Emma. But I’m going to just say Emily from here on.”

We're making it easier for you to find stories that matter with our new newsletter — The 4Front. Sign up here and get news that is important for you to your inbox.

Stone responded, “You can say Emma. You can say anything.”

She also explained why she goes by the stage name.

“When I get to know them, people that I work with do. It’s just because my name was taken (by another actor in the Screen Actors Guild),” she said.

But recently she decided that she wants to embrace her birth name.

“Then I freaked out a couple of years ago,” she continued. “For some reason, I was like, ‘I can’t do it anymore. Just call me Emily.’”

She added, “Nathan calls me Em, which is easier.”

The “Poor Things” star told the publication she wouldn’t correct a fan if they approached her and called her Emily.

“That would be so nice. I would like to be Emily,” she said.

Fielder said he would appease her by using both names in the interview.

As she mentioned, the “Easy A” actor has always been listed in the credits as Emma. But, her decision to change her name was made way before she started booking roles.

During an appearance on  “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”  in November 2018, Stone revealed that her stage name was inspired by her love for the Spice Girls and her favorite member, Emma Bunton, also known as “Baby Spice.”

“So growing up I was super blonde, and my real name is Emily, but I wanted to be called Emma because of Baby Spice and guess what, now I am,” she said, laughing.

As the audience clapped, she jokingly told host Jimmy Fallon, “So, that’s pretty messed up.”

But she quickly clarified that being a Spice Girls fan wasn’t the only reason that the world now knows her professionally as Emma.

“It wasn’t necessarily because of her,” she added. “But yes, in second grade, did I go up to the teacher on the first day and ask her to call me Emma? Yes, I did. And was it because of Emma Lee Bunton from the Spice Girls? Yes, it was.”

She has remained a massive fan of the British girl group over the years, she said, and has seen them in concert multiple times.

“I saw them in concert in the ‘90s. I saw them at O2 Arena in 2008, and they recently announced a new tour and I will be going to that somehow. I don’t think tickets are on sale yet, but I’m gonna figure it out,” she shared, referring at the time to the  reunion tour in 2019  (which included every member except Victoria Beckham).

Fallon and Stone then took a Buzzfeed “Which Spice Girl Are You?” quiz, which yielded an unexpected answer.

“I’m Posh Spice,” she exclaimed and threw her hands in the air when the results popped up.

Neil Young Stuns at 2024 Tour Launch, Unveils Lost ‘Cortez the Killer’ Verse

By Andy Greene

Andy Greene

In typical Neil Young fashion, virtually nothing was revealed about his 2024 U.S. tour before it kicked off Wednesday night at San Diego’s Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre, other than the fact he’d be backed by Crazy Horse , and that Micah Nelson would be taking over guitar duties from Nils Lofgren. Would he pull a Greendale and debut an entire rock opera nobody had ever heard? Would he focus the set around the three new studio albums he cut with Crazy Horse between 2019 and 2022? Might he repeat the concept of his 2023 solo tour by spotlighting obscure Eighties and Nineties album tracks and skipping most of his hits?

They jammed for six minutes before Young sang the opening lines, igniting the crowd into a frenzy, but the big moment came near the end, when he began singing completely unfamiliar words. As he teased earlier this month , it was the legendary lost segment of the song that failed to record during the 1975 Zuma sessions because the console briefly lost power. Young recently found the lyric manuscript, and worked out where they originally fit in the song.

“I floated on the water,” Young sang. “I ate that ocean wave/Two weeks after the slaughter/I was living in a cave/They came too late to get me/But there’s no one here to set me free/From this rocky grave/To that snowed-out ocean wave.”

It was a remarkable moment to witness. After 49 years and over 540 live performances, the world finally got to hear the song as Young originally wrote it.

Young was talking about “Scattered (Let’s Think About Livin’),” from 1996’s Broken Arrow, which was the newest song they played all evening. The rest of the set was music recorded when Briggs was alive, largely between 1969 and 1979, beginning with “Don’t Cry No Tears.” He followed it up with a triple shot of Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere : “Down by the River,” “The Losing End,” and the title track. And it was a particularly mesmerizing “Down by the River” that stretched out for 16 blissful minutes.

After the Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere mini-set, the quartet (Crazy Horse 4.0?) kicked into one of the greatest renditions of “Powderfinger” I’ve ever heard, thanks to improvisational guitar work prior to each verse by Young and Nelson. What came next was a 16-minute “Love and Only Love,” the band walking offstage, and then Young strapping on an harmonica rack for solo acoustic renditions of “Comes a Time,” “Heart of Gold,” and “Human Highway” that had the entire amphitheater singing along.

The band returned to wrap up the night with “Don’t Be Denied,” an autobiographical tale that carries a lot more emotional weight when Young sings it at age 78 as opposed to 28, and a thrashed-out “Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black).”

He might duplicate this exact set when the tour continues the following night at the same venue. He might not repeat a single song. He may even perform a complete classic album, which is something he started doing late last year. The joy of seeing Neil Young is that you never have any idea what’s going to happen once the lights dim.
