Looking for a personal driver to guide you through beautiful Sri Lanka? Look no further and book Priyantha! Even during the challenging times of the fuel crisis, Priyantha made sure we didn’t had to miss a single destination. We drove in a comfortable and clean van and always felt save in the Sri Lankan traffic. On top of that, Priyantha is an excellent guide and fun travel (tour) buddy! Thank you Priyantha for the great time! We wish you all the best!
Priyantha was our driver for two weeks in April/May of this year when we visited Sri Lanka on honeymoon. He was excellent, the whole booking process was very smooth, he was always on time and the journeys were comfortable. He also made great suggestions for additional stops where there was something to see or do along the way and went out of his way to help us with organisation - e.g booking a safari. It was the ideal way to explore Sri Lanka - we would very much recommend Tour Buddy.
Our driver was Gayan and he was very professional. Took us whenever we wanted and offer plenty of suggestions for extra activities. Our trip was rushed so we didn't get to have any lunch stops. Otherwise was an excellent trip recommend to everyone coming to Sri Lanka.

We have just returned from ten days in Sri Lanka and had the best driver / guide Priyantha from Tour Buddy…what a great guy he is,always looking out for us ,very careful driver and knows the must see sights..helped in the markets so we didn’t get overcharged.a true gentleman.Car was in great condition, always spotless….Can’t wait to return.
In mid-March 2022, we (a couple of 73 year old) travelled for 15 days with Priyantha as our driver. We had only the best experiences with him as a driver and his organisation on this trip. Priyantha was always on time, in a good mood, very knowledgeable, accommodated every request for changes to the route and always gave us good advice. The car was always clean. We cannot imagine that the trip would have been so smooth with another driver.

Wonder Of Asia
Wild Safari in Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is one of the most amazing destinations in Asia for wildlife national parks. This beautiful island is famous for many things, and one of the most important ones is wild elephants and elephant safaris in our national parks. Minneriya National Park, Kaudulla National Park, Udawalawe National Park, and Wasgamua National Park are famous for wild elephants. Yala national park is the most famous in the world because of the Sri Lankan leopard, bear and other beautiful birds. But we recommend Wilpattu National Park also. As it is another place you can witness Sri Lankan leopards and bears, Kumana National Park is particularly good for bird watching. And Bundala is also a bird- watching national park in the southern part of Sri Lanka, which is near to Yala national park. We arrange safari jeeps, entrance tickets, hotels with meals and evening camping sites inside the national park for your holidays. Please contact us for more information as we do have attractive prices and seasonal offers for you.
Kandy Esala Perehera
Every year from mid-July to mid-August (depending on the full moon day of the month), a ten-day cultural and ritual celebration of Lord Buddha’s relic will happen in Kandy Dalada Maligawa, also known as the "Tooth Relic Temple of Buddha". This has been a continuous cultural ceremony for many centuries now, and it is the kind of amazing experience that each and every traveler needs to experience when they are in Sri Lanka for vacation. Colorful elephants parade, drummers, traditional dancers, fireworks, and many other cultural events are planned for the evening, which will begin at 7 p.m. and last until at least mid-night. To witness this, you need to have an advance booking for seating arrangements. We do have the best places for you and we will look after all the hotels, meals, transport and ticket services for you. Please contact us for more information.

Things to do, budget-friendly, solo travel experience.
I was alone in Sri Lanka and felt safe. People really like to talk and offer their hospitality to travelers. But if you don't like to be squeezed or hanged on public transportation then traveling between cities is quite challenging.
Wear a ring and say you're married. Even if you say you have a boyfriend, guys are going to insist. Be careful with CouchSurfing. They think it's tinder, so unfortunately I had bad experiences. Be careful. When I was in Mirissa, a touristic beach place, I went out to a bar. Some girls were drunk, completely, and local guys were there trying to take advantage. Thanks to some friends we walked two of them to their hostels. So if you travel solo, try to avoid a man thought apps (like CouchSurfing). Try to find someone to travel Apart from very insistent men, it's a safe place ( well they will try to make you paid like European prices, but apart from that, it's nice)
I felt safe travelling alone, people are extremely friendly. However, I was sexually harassed while just walking at daytime at the beach. Also, stuff was stolen from me. I wouldn't recommend walking alone at secluded beaches.
I felt perfectly safe solo traveling Sri Lanka for 3 weeks. The people of Sri Lanka are the nicest and most friendly people I ever met. This small country has so much to offer and it's very affordable. Mountains, hiking, temples, history, great wildlife, amazing beaches, beautiful towns, and delicious food.
I traveled alone in Sri Lanka in April and I can only say good things. I spent most of my time on the coasts and in the mountains. I loved this country, its culture, and its food and felt very safe.
Group travel experience
I felt absolutely safe, I spent part of the time with friends, and part traveling alone, my friends wouldn't let me travel if they didn't think I would be safe. I used drivers/cars arranged by my friends or hotels, taxis, Uber and tuk-tuks, both during the day and in the evening, I also went to restaurants in the evening.
Sri Lanka was the first country I visited alone. I stayed in the south of the island and used public transportation as much as possible, as it was very cheap. The people there are the friendliest I have ever met. I felt very safe throughout the whole trip. When travelling between cities, it was difficult to get there by public transport, so I had to ask someone from the hotel I was staying at to give me a ride to the next place (agree on the price in advance).
I love Sri Lanka where lots of wonderful people, beautiful nature and the most important they have magnificent beaches. Having seafood dinner and watching sunsets in front of the beach is the most enjoyable time for me.
I traveled alone to Sri Lanka and I loved it, I never felt unsafe. I traveled by train, it was very cheap and super friendly. I booked accommodation one day ahead during my whole trip and did all the tours I could, in the time I had.
I had no problems traveling solo through Sri Lanka as a lone woman. People were so nice, and the place seemed so raw and untouched. I can't describe how beautiful this country was. It was also very cheap there. I advise avoiding Colombo and Negombo.

9 Best Halal Restaurants in Colombo
Table of Contents
Sri Lanka’s bustling capital, Colombo, boasts a diverse array of cultures and flavors, and its vibrant Halal restaurant scene is a testament. The city offers a variety of Halal dining options, whether you’re looking for traditional Sri Lankan food, Indian curries, or Middle Eastern cuisine.
Marine Grill:
This restaurant offers a spacious, inviting atmosphere that is ideal for families. The star of the menu is their juicy and flavorful burgers, but they also have a variety of options to please everyone. While the service can sometimes be slow, it’s always friendly. Marine Grill is an excellent option for a relaxed and affordable meal with delicious food and a comfortable atmosphere. The price range is typically between Rs 1,500 and Rs 3,500. Recommended dishes include Peri Peri Chicken, Chicken Crispy Submarine, Chicken Shawarma, Juicy Lucy Burger, and Beef Cheese Cake.
Address: No. 25, Station Avenue, Marine Dr – Timing : 11:30 AM to 11:00 PM – Contact: +94 112 364 727.
Ibrahim’s Eating House:
It’s this awesome place in Maradana that serves delicious halal Sri Lankan food. They’re famous for their Kidu rice, which is basically a giant banana leaf filled with all this tasty stuff – fluffy rice, super flavorful curries, fresh veggies, and sometimes even meat. It’s like a party in your mouth!
The place itself is pretty casual, and it gets packed at lunch because everyone knows how delicious it is. But the staff is super chill and friendly, and the prices won’t hurt your wallet. Plus, they have this cool upstairs area with AC if you want to escape the heat (although it might not always be open).
Seriously, Ibrahim Eating House is perfect for a quick lunch break, grabbing some food to take, or just chilling out with the family.
Address: Ven Baddegama Wimalawansa Mawatha – Timing : 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 PM – Contact: +94 112 696 930
Fazly’s Halal Refreshments:
For those seeking a quick and satisfying halal meal with a kid’s menu on the go, Fazly’s Halal Refreshment is the most convenient stop. Fazly’s Halal Refreshment serves all sorts of delicious food, from burgers and fries to shawarma (like a meat wrap). It’s more of a casual, family-friendly spot, so don’t expect fancy decorations.
Their chicken shawarma seems to be a crowd-pleaser, and I hear their cordon bleu burger with white sauce is amazing too! Just a heads up, they only take cash, and parking can be tricky during the day. But hey, if you’re looking for a quick and tasty halal bite, Fazly’s is worth checking out!
With its convenient location and affordable prices, Fazly’s Halal Refreshments is another popular choice.
Address: 1 Vellons Passage, Colombo 02 – Timing : 3:30 AM to 1:30 AM – Contact: +94 112 304 504
Eastern Wok:
The menu at Eastern Wok is one of the most impressive in the city for anyone looking for a culinary gem that brings together the essence of Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine. Their extensive menu features Middle Eastern specialities and halal Chinese dishes. Also available are soups, noodles, and rice dishes. The cost of dinner is reasonable, around $40.
Hot butter prawns are crisp and flavour at the top of the list. Mixed, chopped suey rice is also an excellent choice with meat and vegetables. Skip the sweet, spicy cuttlefish kottu, though. With its modern decor and open kitchen concept, Eastern Wok offers an exceptional dining experience that appeals to locals and visitors.
The staff are friendly, and the service is fast. The place itself is small but has a pleasant atmosphere. Overall, I’d recommend checking it out!
Address: 38 Walukarama Rd – Timing : 11:00 AM to 11:00 p.m – Contact: +94 77 703 9329
Arabian Knights:
For those craving Halal Arab food in Colombo, Arabian Knights might be your new favourite. They offer everything from hummus with green chile to Arabic shawarma, mezze platters, sizzling grilled meats, and fragrant rice dishes. Food gets high marks for flavour, and first-timers rave about the attentive staff who help you navigate the menu. The atmosphere is quiet, relaxing, and perfect for a romantic meal. The warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with traditional decor and live entertainment, creates a truly immersive dining experience. A meal here costs around 5,000 rupees or more, making it one of Colombo’s most expensive halal food restaurants.
Address: 17 Charlemont Rd, Colombo – Timing : 11:30 AM to 11:00 PM – Contact: +94 77 751 1911
Elite Indian Restaurant:
If you’re looking for a casual Indian dining experience with a variety of choices, Elite might be worth a try. Their menu boasts an impressive selection of Tandoori delicacies, rich curries, and freshly baked naan breads. Restaurants with elegant decor and attentive service create memorable dining experiences. While customer reviews suggest positive aspects like convenience and value, there might be some room for improvement in in hygiene and food quality.
Address: 124 Bauddhaloka Mawatha – Timing : 09:00 AM to 11:00 PM – Contact: +94 112 552 882
Thejan Hotel & Restaurant:
This renowned hotel offers Sri Lankan and Middle Eastern cuisines in the heart of Colombo. Their extensive menu features biryanis, kottu roti, and mouthwatering grilled dishes. With a cozy ambience and attentive service, this restaurant is a popular choice among locals and visitors alike.
Address: 201 Galle Rd., Colombo – Timing : 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM – Contact: +94 76 928 7931
It is an Indian restaurant in Colombo. Their menu features authentic dishes, including succulent kebabs, flavorful curries, and freshly baked flatbreads. The food was fantastic, especially the butter naan, kadai mutton, and chicken kurma. The staff were super friendly, and the prices were fair. Just a heads up, the milkshakes weren’t the most delicious, but they could replace them with something else.
Overall, the delicious food and friendly service made up for the not-so-great chairs. Kandoori is yummy Pakistani and Indian Halal food in Sri Lanka! Two people spend around RS 4000 on a starter and a soft drink.
Acropol Restaurant:
So, you’re hungry and looking for a Turkish and Greek halal restaurant in Colombo? There are a number of great restaurants around town, but Acropol Restaurant might be the right place to eat if you want delicious Greek food in a cozy setting that feels like a Mediterranean vacation. The menu includes classic dishes like hummus, souvlaki, and moussaka, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Customers especially love shawarma and butter prawns.
Diners also praise the staff. They are friendly and attentive, always happy to help you choose the most appropriate dish. Just be aware that parking can be tricky, so you might have to find street parking. Prices are reasonable, with a typical meal costing around 1,500–2,000 rupees ($8–$11 USD).
Considering its pricing and tasty offerings, Acropol Restaurant sounds like a great choice for a Greek meal in Colombo.
Address: 01 Schofield Pl, Colombo – Timing : 11:30 AM to 12:00 AM – Contact: + 94 77 457 7577
