Las Vegas Vacations

Las Vegas, Nevada, is best known for its bright lights, star-studded shows, and world-class casinos. But no matter what sort of adventure you’re looking for, there are Las Vegas vacations that can fulfill your every wish. In fact, that is just what this sprawling desert metropolis is all about. Yes, you can allow the sights and sounds of the casino sweep you off your feet, but the next night you could spend at the spa, and the night after that, you can put on your dancing shoes. The only thing that you can’t do on vacations in Las Vegas is stay there forever. Or could you?

Major Attractions

Surely you have heard of the most famous street in America: The Strip. It features some of the most well-known places in the city, from classic casinos to the famous replica Eiffel Tower. Get your heart racing at the world's highest thrill rides—or in the casino—all located there. However, the more vintage, rock-and-roll atmosphere of downtown is also not to be missed. Try your luck at the legendary Golden Nugget casino, then stroll to the Neon Museum, where you’re sure to take some of your new favorite photos.

Did you know that the area around Las Vegas is filled with outdoor fun, too? Yes, journey away from the bright lights and you’ll find you can gaze up at lights of a different kind—the stars. The Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon are popular destinations to marvel at the power of Mother Nature. Now that is almost as awe-inspiring as our Las Vegas package deals.

Festivals and Events

While it’s true that any time is a good time to visit this happening town, there are some special events you might consider. You can book vacation packages in Vegas to coincide with monthly favorites such as the Art & Wine: A Perfect Pairing, held the second Wednesday of each month. Wines are paired with the featured works at the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art for a unique combination of art and imbibing. If you prefer beer, sample from among more than 150 brews from around the world at the Desert Hops Nevada & International Beer Festival in August. However you choose to let loose, Las Vegas is here with a festival and a smile.

Hotels in Las Vegas

Hotels and flights go together like pools and pina coladas, and you’ll have plenty of those in your future when you’ve booked a cheap vacation in Las Vegas. As one of the world’s leaders in hospitality, though, “Sin City” has a whole lot of options when it comes to where to stay. Look into these hotels to add on to your package.

  • Guests at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino practically never have to leave. This sprawling resort has 17 restaurants, a spa, and plenty of pools. When the sun sets, join in the electric energy at the nightclub, or take in a show at the David Copperfield Theatre. It’s all here.
  • The Bellagio ’s excellent reputation—and its five-star rating—are both well-earned. The hotel’s fountain shows may be its most famous attraction, but for guests lucky enough to have a room, the inside is even more impressive. Even the lobby ceiling is decorated with blown-glass flowers by the legendary artist, Dale Chihuly.
  • The Venetian Resort Hotel & Casino is the epitome of opulence, so if you are in search of the most elegant experience available, look no further. This five-star resort has two pools, 20 restaurants, and an on-site spa to cater to your every need. And no trip is complete without being transported to Venice, itself, as you cruise down the hotel’s canals in a gondola.
  • Excalibur Hotel Casino will have you living like royalty—it is even shaped like a castle. Both kids and those who are just kids at heart will love the arcade, while adults can entertain themselves at the casino. Take a dip in the outdoor hot tub or just relax by the poolside bar. In Las Vegas, your day is yours alone.

Whether you want to come for the gaming, the nightlife, or just a little bit of everything, we’ve got the perfect vacation package in Las Vegas, NV for you. Many cities try to claim they have something for everyone, but in this city of dreams, it is true. And Travelocity will get you there, with the best deals and the easiest booking this side of the Hoover Dam.

Live Free Music Concerts

The concerts held at the Fremont Street Experience are among the best things to do in Las Vegas in June because you don’t have to pay for them! Fremont is one of the few areas in Las Vegas where you can see free live music concerts outside.

You do not need to purchase a ticket or obtain any special pass to witness the rotating roster of talented musicians and singers appearing on Fremont Street throughout different nights of the week. All you have to do is be there at the right place and time, which is nightly between 6:00 PM and 2:00 AM.

Fremont Street has three stages where various nightly bands perform. But the true highlight of the music concerts is the massive Viva Vision digital display screen at the renowned pedestrian mall on Fremont Street. The screen is 90 feet wide, 1,375 feet long, and 90 feet above the ground.

High Roller Observation Wheel

The High Roller Observation Wheel is one of the primary exterior attractions at the LINQ Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. Guests enter a 360-degree luxurious glass cabin equipped with video and audio technology.

As the observation wheel rotates, the cabin rises higher and higher off the ground. The cabin takes about 15 minutes to rise to the top of the wheel, approximately 550 feet above the ground.

June is a month of clear skies and beautiful weather. The High Roller offers you the chance to see a higher 360-degree view of Las Vegas during a gorgeous afternoon from up to 550 feet in the air.

Many people say riding the High Roller at nighttime is better because you can see all the vibrant neon lights on the buildings and signage. However, an afternoon ride in June offers a picturesque view of the mountains, canyons, desert terrain, and city buildings.

Beatles LOVE Las Vegas review, las vegas in june

Cirque du Soleil Shows

Undoubtedly, going to see a Cirque du Soleil show is by far one of the best things to do in Las Vegas any time of the year.

June is a month filled with excitement and energy. Nothing demonstrates that more than Cirque du Soleil shows because they are a stunning display of athleticism, courage, and entertainment.

Each Cirque du Soleil is guaranteed to showcase death-defying stunts, impressive acrobatics, intense music, original characters, interesting costumes, and unique storylines.

Cirque du Soleil currently operates six shows in Las Vegas, including Mad Apple, Ka, O, Mystere, Michael Jackson ONE, and The Beatles LOVE . They are a mixture of musical tributes, drama, adventure, action, and more.

Mad Apple is a tribute to the wild nightlife of New York City, while Michael Jackson ONE and the Beatles LOVE are creative tributes to the legendary pop singer and British rock band. As for Ka, O, and Mystere, they are 100% original and highly entertaining.

You can find more information and discount opportunities for attending Cirque du Soleil shows from Vegaslens .

Vegas on a budget: 5 things to do for free, finding value at costco travel, members tell all: costco member hotel reviews, more about las vegas.

Las Vegas is a world of imagination. Just close your eyes and think about anything, and the odds are in your favor that you'll find it in Las Vegas. I mean, in only four miles of real estate, you can see relics from all parts of the world, like ancient Egypt, modern-day Venice, the streets of Paris, and the New York skyline. If that seems too kitschy, don't worry, there are plenty of elaborate resorts with non-stop gaming and over-the-top entertainment waiting to greet you. Where else in the world does a wonderland like this exist? Nowhere. But. Vegas.

The atmosphere of Las Vegas is something that you almost have to experience to understand fully. It's the ringing of chimes as a guest just hit the jackpot, the thumping bass from the club, the smell of unique and eclectic delicacies waiting to be tasted, and it's people-watching like nothing you've seen before. It's a never-ending source of irony and improbability where you can turn a chip and a chair into a million dollars.

For each visitor, Las Vegas is going to present a unique experience. It's like an equation where you + more = more of you: more chances to explore your personality, more opportunities to experiment with new ideas, and more thrills to discover around every corner. It's that reason alone that the sentiment "what happens here, stays here" is shared by so many visitors.

Before You Go

  • To make it easier to replace your passport if it’s lost or stolen, in addition to your passport, take a photocopy of your passport information page (keeping it separate from your actual passport).
  • Carry only a limited amount of cash, just enough for gratuities and incidental purchases. Major credit cards are widely accepted and can be replaced if lost or stolen.
  • Always lock your hotel room door (including patio and balcony door on any level of the building) and use the peephole before opening the door.
  • Store your valuables (such as cash, credit cards and airline tickets) in the hotel’s in-room safe or front desk safety deposit box.
  • If you must carry valuables on your person, do so in a pouch or money belt concealed under your clothing. Purses and backpacks can be easy targets for thieves.
  • For complete and current safety and security information, including travelers' tips, public announcements, travel advisories and more, please visit the website of the U.S. Department of State at www.travel.state.gov.
  • December through February: 60° to 66° (Winter)
  • March through May: 72° to 90° (Spring)
  • June through August: 102° to 104° (Summer)
  • September through November: 96° to 70° (Autumn)

The Vegas climate's bark is worse than its bite. Sure, summer highs hover around 100°F, but with no humidity and ever-present air-conditioning, you'll be comfortable as long as you have water on hand. Even the warmer months (June-September) are entirely bearable if you hydrate. Luckily, with 300 days of sunshine a year, the chances of a rain-out are slim. On the other hand, nights can be chilly between late fall and early spring, so bring a sweater or windbreaker for your evening strolls beneath the neon-bathed skies. Las Vegas doesn't have a high or low season by the standard definition, but you'll find it the least crowded between November and January. Hotels are at their fullest July through October. Specific events—New Year's Eve, spring break, major conventions, sporting events—draw big crowds, so plan accordingly.

Once you pass the famous "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign along Las Vegas Boulevard South, it won't be too long until you're cruising the Strip. Sin City's notorious artery acts as the epicenter of any Vegas getaway. Here, you'll find Las Vegas' most iconic landmarks , including the  Bellagio Fountains , the Eiffel Tower at Paris, Las Vegas , the pyramid and sphinx belonging to The Luxor , and  The Venetian's Grand Canal .

The "Strip" technically runs from Mandalay Bay on the south end (home to an aquarium and a human-made beach) to the STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod casino on the north end, where you'll find the tallest free-standing observation tower in the country (this is where you'll go for the perfect Vegas photo).

Visit the Sphere Visit the Sphere

When construction on the MSG Sphere first began in 2019, the addition of yet another "world's largest" was met with a shrug. Las Vegas' skyline was already crammed with record-breaking, jaw-dropping attractions. Did the city really need one more? But when the Sphere's exterior LED screen switched on for the first time in 2023, suddenly this golf ball-shaped music and entertainment arena was all anyone could talk about. People crowded onto resort parking lot rooftops to watch as the largest spherical building on the planet transformed into a giant blinking eye, a swirling snow globe or a Space Age metallic orb.

At 366 feet tall, the Sphere is massive – taller than the Statue of Liberty. And the entire exterior of the building is cloaked in 1.2 million LED lights, which has the effect of transforming the Sphere into an almost lifelike replica of whatever images the screen projects. Visitors describe the Sphere as futuristic and otherworldly; like a piece of alien tech transported from another galaxy.

Bellagio Casino and Fountains Bellagio Casino and Fountains free

This Strip staple offers plenty of ways to lay your money on the line, from table games and slot machines to a race and sports book. This is also the choice casino among many high rollers due to its high-stakes tables. What's more, this casino hosts the World Poker Tour, among other tournaments. But there's more to the Bellagio than the casino floor.

Even those who don't gamble praise the Bellagio for its upscale atmosphere and variety of amenities and attractions. Anyone who's seen a movie set in Vegas will recognize the Bellagio's massive fountains: Every 15 to 30 minutes, those walking past the exterior of the Bellagio are treated to a complimentary light and water show with the fountain's jets shooting water into the air during intricately choreographed "dances" set to music.

Las Vegas knows how to go big – especially when it comes to entertainment . So, it should come as no surprise that a performance company like Cirque du Soleil thrives here. Translating to "Circus of the Sun," Cirque du Soleil is known for its incredible acrobatic feats, which are performed with an unrivaled level of artistry. There are six different Cirque shows in Las Vegas, all of which are performed at different casinos along the Strip .

Fremont Street used to be dominated by classic, but less-frequented casinos that seemed past their prime, such as the Golden Nugget and the Pioneer Club. Today, this section of downtown Las Vegas is once again ready to compete with the Strip for visitors' attention.

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area

Located about 17 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip , the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area offers travelers a respite from downtown Las Vegas' unnatural neon landscape. Though you can opt to follow the 13-mile scenic car route through the desert, make the most of your visit by stretching your legs along the numerous hiking and biking trails that dot the one-way route. No matter how you choose to explore the 195,819-acre area, you'll find yourself surrounded by the beautiful Mojave Desert and its signature red hills.

According to previous Red Rock Canyon visitors, a trip here is well worth leaving the casino floor behind. Recent travelers recommended getting out of your car to explore, but suggest you plan hikes or biking excursions during the cooler mornings rather than the sweltering afternoons. Reviewers also say the road is well-maintained and appreciate the abundance of restrooms along the way. Travelers also suggest stopping by the visitor center to peruse the informative exhibits.

New York-New York and the Big Apple Coaster New York-New York and the Big Apple Coaster free

You won't have any trouble finding New York-New York: Its faux-Manhattan skyline – complete with scale models of famous Big Apple attractions like the Statue of Liberty , the Empire State Building and the Brooklyn Bridge – occupies almost a full block of the Strip . Sitting across the street from the MGM Grand , New York-New York recreates the Gotham experience in true Vegas fashion, boasting a New York-style pizzeria, several casual pubs and a variety of souvenir and specialty shops.

If you’re visiting Las Vegas with kids , you’ll find a variety of family-friendly attractions here, including Hershey's Chocolate World, which offers more than 800 kinds of Hershey's chocolates and candies, and features a nearly 800-pound Statue of Liberty sculpture composed almost entirely of chocolate. In addition to an arcade, the property is also famous for its Big Apple Coaster. Traveling at speeds up to 67 mph, the roller coaster weaves through the faux Manhattan skyline, offering riders excellent views of the southern Strip – if they can keep their eyes open. Tickets start at $25 per person for one ride. Note: Riders must be at least 54 inches tall to ride. The coaster welcomes riders from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. until midnight Friday through Sunday.

Paris, Las Vegas and the Eiffel Tower Experience Paris, Las Vegas and the Eiffel Tower Experience free

Though it may not be quite as timeless as the actual City of Lights , Sin City's (rather kitschy) take on Paris is one of the Strip's most popular occupants. The property offers a whirlwind tour of the French capital's most iconic sights: You'll find a replica of the Arc de Triomphe, architecture reminiscent of the Paris Opera and the Louvre, and the pièce de résistance – a 46-story, half-size replica of the Eiffel Tower. Tickets to the tower's observation deck cost $25 for adults and $19 for kids ages 4 to 12. Similar to the real tower in Paris, the Las Vegas Eiffel Tower stages a free recurring light show every 30 minutes from sunset to midnight daily. For a unique view of the tower, reserve a lounge chair by the property’s pool, which is located on the rooftop directly under the Eiffel Tower replica.

As far as the casino goes, you'll find slots, table games, horse racing and Keno – with which travelers were more than satisfied. Paris, Las Vegas boasts several French-themed restaurants,  bars and shops, plus a variety of shows, not to mention the swanky Chateau Nightclub and Rooftop.

Hoover Dam Hoover Dam

Sitting about 35 miles southeast of Las Vegas, the Hoover Dam spans the Colorado River and the Black Canyon (which separates Nevada and Arizona). The immense concrete structure – which confines Lake Mead, the largest reservoir in the United States by volume – has helped provide power to Nevada, Arizona and California since 1935. These days, in addition to keeping the lights on, the Hoover Dam welcomes more than 7 million visitors each year as one of America's most recognized landmarks. Some of its most noteworthy sights are as follows:

Visitor Center:  You can learn more about the Hoover Dam with a stop at the Visitor Center, which is open every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and costs $10 to explore. The facility's Exhibit Gallery features various audio, visual and interactive exhibits, such as a generator model you can walk through, while the theater shows a 10-minute film about the dam. Don't forget to head to the top-floor observation area to snap some memorable pictures of the massive structure, Lake Mead and the Colorado River, as most visitors recommend doing.

Like many of Sin City's attractions, Area15 is hard to describe. Marketed on its website as an "immersive entertainment district," the 200,000-square-foot warehouse features a psychedelic smorgasbord of unique experiences, including cinematic immersions, interactive art exhibits, virtual reality arcades, zip lines, axe-throwing and several one-of-a-kind bars and restaurants.

Area15 has earned comparisons to Burning Man and "Alice in Wonderland," thanks to the art installations that tower outside and the mind-bending exhibits inside. Two of the most popular attractions are the immersive art experience, Meow Wolf's Omega Mart, and the rum-fueled immersive Cirque show "Lost Spirits Distillery."

Home to the High Roller observation wheel, the LINQ Promenade is an open-air shopping, dining and entertainment district. Located between The LINQ Hotel and Casino and Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, the 1,200-foot-long promenade is anchored by the 550-foot High Roller, the largest observation wheel in North America and one of the top things to do in Las Vegas with kids . Recent travelers found the 360-degrees of the Strip , the city and the desert worth the trip. During the day, tickets cost $25 for adults and $10 for kids ages 4 to 12; in the evening (7 p.m. to midnight), tickets cost $35.50 for adults and $19 for kids. For another adrenaline rush, there’s Fly LINQ, the only zip line on the Las Vegas Strip . Riders launch from a 12-story tower and reach speeds up to 35 mph. The zip line is open from 2 to 10 p.m. daily. Tickets start at $35.

The shopping includes national retailers like Harley Davidson and the unusual like I Love Sugar, a 14,000-square-foot, two-story candy shop. The massive Ferris wheel features 28 handcrafted pods made out of Italian glass that can hold up to 40 people each. A trip around the observation wheel takes about 30 minutes, and recent travelers say it's a great place to snap photos of the nearby casinos and attractions. This is also one of the top things to do in Las Vegas with kids .

Adults ages 21 and older can opt for a ride within the Happy Half Hour pod, an upgraded experience that includes a complimentary open bar during your trip around the wheel. Recent visitors said the High Roller was worth the trip to see the views, either day or night; others were especially pleased that the pods are air conditioned. The Neon Museum The Neon Museum

Once the sun goes down, Las Vegas shines brightly with hundreds of thousands of colorful bulbs flashing for your attention. Neon is nothing new in America's Playground: Hotels , bars and casinos have been luring customers with bright signs for decades. If you have an interest in learning more about the city’s iconic signs and Las Vegas history in general, consider a visit to The Neon Museum. Located on Las Vegas Boulevard just north of the Mob Museum and about a mile north of Fremont Street , the Neon Museum offers guided tours of what's known as the "Neon Boneyard." The boneyard can be found behind the museum's visitor center, which occupies the lobby of the former La Concha Motel.

The nearly 2.25-acre outdoor exhibit is home to more than 250 pieces of old Vegas signage all laid out for admiration on the desert floor. You can take a self-guided tour during the day, or sign up for a guided tour at night. The 45-minute boneyard walk-throughs are led by museum interpreters, who provide details on signs from such iconic landmarks as Caesars Palace , the Golden Nugget and Stardust.

Back in the day, not even Vegas' neon lights could distract Americans from Sin City's darker side; today, The Mob Museum sheds light on the city's pervasiveness in the 20th-century gangster era. Circa Resort & Casino Circa Resort & Casino free

When Circa Resort & Casino held its grand opening in 2020, it was the first new casino to open in downtown Las Vegas in more than 40 years. The chic, 35-story-tall addition to this old Las Vegas neighborhood has all the modern features of a 21st-century casino, including a high-tech parking garage named the Garage Mahal and a three-story-tall sportsbook (the world's largest). But the adults-only casino also has a distinctly vintage Vegas vibe, too. Circa's interior features midcentury lighting and accents, globe chandeliers and the iconic "Vegas Vickie," a giant neon cowgirl that hovers over the casino lobby.

The most talked-about attraction among recent visitors at Circa, however, is Stadium Swim, a mashup of a concert stadium and a swimming pool amphitheater. Guests can lounge in one of six pools while they catch a sports game or concert on the 40-foot screen above. The pool is heated and remains open year-round, which makes it a popular lounge spot on desert spring days.

The Downtown Container Park's premise is an interesting one: An open-air dining and shopping plaza made entirely from repurposed shipping containers. SlotZilla Zipline SlotZilla Zipline

Part of the Fremont Street Experience , SlotZilla is modeled after a giant slot machine, complete with Las Vegas icons like oversized dice and a martini glass. At 11 stories tall, SlotZilla is billed as the world’s largest slot machine and as a zip line offers riders two options: On the lower line, Zip-Zilla, participants ride in a seated position, zipping along at 77 feet in the air. The line travels about halfway through the Fremont Street Experience. The higher zip line, known as Super-Hero Zoom, rises 114 feet high. Patrons ride “superhero-style” (with their bodies parallel to the ground) to the other end of the street and are dropped off at the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino. Guests should allot one hour for the entire experience, even though the rides are 30 seconds and one minute, respectively. In addition to a weight check and harness fitting, you’ll have to go through a brief safety training.

Recent travelers found the higher “Super-Hero Zoom” zip line thrilling and enjoyed the views from up above, especially at night. However, there were mixed reviews about the check-in process, and some warned that you’ll have to climb a lot of steps to get to the top of the launching platform.

Springs Preserve Springs Preserve

If you're looking for a kid-friendly activity away from the Strip , or just need a breath of fresh air, consider a visit to the Springs Preserve and Origen Museum. There's something of interest for almost everyone at this 180-acre cultural institution, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The preserve is located at the original water source for the valley, and is commonly known as the "birthplace of Las Vegas." It's a place meant to commemorate Las Vegas' history and boasts museums, galleries, a botanical garden, a butterfly habitat and an interpretive trail system. Meanwhile, the Origen Museum features more than 75 permanent exhibits, an indoor theater and a traveling exhibit space.

Recent visitors raved about the family-friendly atmosphere here, but even those without kids in tow love the history and the botanical garden. Reviewers called the grounds “peaceful” and said Springs Preserve provides a fun day away from the Strip.

Mandalay Bay Casino, Aquarium and Beach Mandalay Bay Casino, Aquarium and Beach free

Sure, this towering gold building at the southern end of the Strip boasts all the slots, poker and game tables you want in a Sin City venue, not to mention a variety of restaurants and nightlife venues. (Plus, it's home to the House of Blues Music Hall and plays host to "Michael Jackson ONE," Cirque du Soleil 's tribute to the 80s pop icon.) But Mandalay Bay doesn't exude the same level of kitsch found at other casinos along Las Vegas Boulevard – a major selling point for more laid-back travelers. In fact, this is the place you go if you're looking for an escape, according to reviewers.

One of the major highlights of Mandalay Bay is its 11-acre “aquatic playground,” which features a human-made beach, a lazy river and a wave pool that creates an oceanside atmosphere in the middle of the Nevada desert. You can kick off your shoes and work on your tan in one of the rentable cabanas or gazebos; those looking to avoid bikini tan lines can ditch the top at the Moorea Beach Club. Note that unless you're a guest at the Mandalay Bay or the Delano Las Vegas, you will have to rent a cabana to access the pool and beach areas – prices vary by day and occupancy levels.

Luxor Casino Luxor Casino free

As you make your way down the Strip , you can't miss the 30-story pyramid that is home to the Luxor Hotel & Casino. You can try your luck at more than 1,100 slot, video poker and multi-game machines, or play one of dozens of table games on the 120,000-square-foot floor. There's also a large sportsbook area, with plasma TVs and individual seats with monitors. If you're a high roller, there's a private section for you, too, with a comfortable lounge and cocktail bar.

In addition to the gaming floor, the casino also offers a variety of nightly entertainment options and attractions like the Blue Man Group, as well as several museum exhibits, such as one devoted to Titanic artifacts. For many travelers, “Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition” was a highlight of their visit to Luxor. In addition to featuring more than 250 artifacts recovered from the ship, the exhibition displays recreated rooms, including the ornate Grand Staircase. What's more, Luxor touts one of the largest pool decks in Vegas, offering 125,650 square feet of space. As with other hotels on the Strip, Luxor also offers a variety of nightlife venues and restaurants.

MGM Grand Casino MGM Grand Casino free

It only makes sense that a city devoted to entertainment would feature a casino hotel devoted to the entertainment industry. The casino – which sits mid-Strip across from New York-New York at the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue – hosts a variety of performances ranging from big-name concerts to sporting events to Cirque du Soleil 's "KÀ." It is also the partner to the nearby T-Mobile Arena, which hosts large-scale events, such as the iHeartRadio Music Festival.

The MGM Grand is also home to several top-notch restaurants and nightlife venues, such as Hakkasan nightclub, where celebrity DJs regularly spin hits into the wee hours. During the day, you can stop by Wet Republic Ultra Pool, where you can dance, swim or relax in party cabanas. Several shops can be found here as well, but you'll likely spend most of your time (and your money) on the casino floor, which houses poker tables, slot machines and a race and sports book. Keep in mind: The property spans more than 6 acres, so you’ll likely be doing a lot of walking during your visit (comfortable shoes are a must). Travelers were impressed by the size of the MGM Grand Casino, but said the nightlife options are the real star of the property.

The Adventuredome at Circus Circus The Adventuredome at Circus Circus

In a city that boasts every type of attraction imaginable, it’s no surprise to find an indoor amusement park. Located on the Strip , the 5-acre Adventuredome at Circus Circus Hotel and Casino offers rides and entertainment for all ages. There are 25 rides and attractions, including roller coasters, an 18-hole miniature golf course, a carousel, a video game arcade and a rock clubbing wall, all housed under a large glass dome. The complex also includes free clown shows, virtual reality rooms and the FX Theater, which screens family-friendly films in 4D.

Recent visitors appreciated the climate-controlled indoor environment, but warn that the Adventuredome is better suited to younger children (ages 12 and younger) than adults due to the nature of its rides and attractions. (It's considered one of the top things to do in Las Vegas with kids .) Reviewers complained about the price of the admission passes: All-day tickets for those 48 inches and taller are $60; for those shorter than 48 inches, all-day tickets cost $30.

9. See a Theatrical Performance

Although you can usually count on at least a few musicals and other theatrical performances in Las Vegas each month, there aren't too many scheduled for June 2024.

Cirque du Soleil

  • O  | A young boy goes on an adventure that sends him to a magical realm.
  • Michael Jackson ONE  | acrobatics, dance, and visuals that reflect Michael Jackson's showmanship
  • The Beatles LOVE  | a Grammy award-winning psychedelic acrobatic journey through the 60s set to Beatles music
  • Mad Apple  | Acrobats, dancers, comedians, magicians, and others give you a snapshot of night in New York
  • Ka  | Rotating stages, aerial performances, and acrobatics around the story of royal twins separated at youth trying to reunite

Tickets to the Cirque du Soleil shows  can be found here.*

Variety Acts/Shows

  • Absinthe  | This adults-only show is a mix of cabaret, humor, and acrobatics, all taking place on a circular stage
  • Awakening  | A myth-like love story with fantasy creatures, many types of dance, haute-couture costumes, 3D sound, and more
  • Blue Man Group  | Instrumental music, art, and comedy, all performed by wordless blue-faced neon-lit men
  • iLuminate  | Amazing choreography performed by dancers wearing LED suits while lighting effects dance across the room
  • V: The Ultimate Variety Show  | High-energy stunts and performances with comedy, magic, and spectacle

For even more ideas, check this list of theatrical shows in Las Vegas to see what else is happening this June

*Our post here tells you how to  save money on tickets  to Cirque du Soleil  O  but it actually applies to any of the shows.

TIP: Some of these shows are included for free with at least one Las Vegas tourist pass !

10. Take a Bus Tour

See a lot in a shorter amount of time from the comfort of an air-conditioned bus.

Hop-on-hop-off bus tours allow you to get on and off the bus whenever you want to see more of any of the sites along the route.

Big Bus Tours is the main bus tour company in Las Vegas and the only company that provides live commentary during the tour.

There are other types of bus tours available, like night bus tours, and themed tours like a Pawn Stars Bus Tour and a Mob Bus Tour.

Read about the many choices from our post on Las Vegas bus tours .

11. Experience the Sphere

The recently opened $1.2 billion MSG Sphere is the world's largest spherical structure.

Concerts, sporting events, films, and award shows will take place at the venue, which has enough room for up to 25,000 people!

What's impressive at first glance are the millions of LEDs covering the outside of the building.

Inside, it's just as impressive, with a stunning and even changing backdrop to the performers on the stage.

The immersive Darren Aronofsky film,  Postcard from Earth , is shown on a screen that's the size of four football fields.

Note that visitors to the Sphere have discussed the steepness of the seating but have said that those afraid of heights will soon feel comfortable.

Visit the  Sphere  website for a list of shows and more information.

12. Attend the First Friday Festival

On June 7, Las Vegas will be celebrating its First Friday Festival.

This event focuses on the work of local artists such as painters, photographers, jewelers, and more.

This festival will take place in the Downtown Arts District on 1st Street.

There will be more than 80 venues and 50 outdoor artists providing fun activities and attractions.

The best part about this activity is that it's entirely free! All you have to do is show up and have fun. This is a great way to see the artistic vision of Las Vegas artists.

Check in with the First Friday Foundation to find out whether or not plans have changed before heading out.

13. Go on Las Vegas PRIDE OUTside Hike

Each month there is a family-friendly hike on the Cathedral Rock trail.

See flowers and trees, a waterfall, and views of the avalanche chute.

Events take place on June 9 at 10:00 am.

Fine more information here .

14. Play the World Series of Poker

The World Series of Poker is considered the world's "longest-running, largest, richest, and most prestigious gaming event in the world."

Events take place at the Horseshoe and Paris Hotel and Casino between May 28 and July 17, 2024.

Find more information here .

15. Celebrate Juneteenth

Las Vegas has one of the largest Juneteenth Festivals in the state.

Dates and information haven't been released for 2024 yet, but in the past the Expo at World Market Center has come alive in celebration with arts, music, culture, and dance.

Check here for updates .

16. Experience a Magic Show

In addition to all the theatrical shows taking place this month, most of the resident Las Vegas magicians will also be performing in May.

If you're interested in seeing something unexpected or beyond belief, consider going to one of these shows!

Click here for  Magic Show tickets  to the following magicians.

  • David Copperfield
  • Penn & Teller
  • Chris Angel
  • Masters of Magic Show

Our post on  31 Shows You Can See in Las Vegas  might be interesting to scan through as well.

17. P lay at the Pinball Hall of Fame

It costs nothing to enter this pinball machine museum which is 10,000 square feet of restored pinball machines. Do bring quarters if you plan on playing the machines.

You can enjoy your pinball, even more, knowing that proceeds from gameplay and the candy machines are donated to the Salvation Army.

The Pinball Hall of Fame is open from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm every day. Needless to say, this is an ideal place to bring the kids.

It is also a fun place to pass the evening! To find more nightlife suggestions, see our post on things to do at night in Las Vegas .

June in Las Vegas: Weather, What to Pack, and What to See

June is the perfect time of the year to travel to Las Vegas because it is before the summer vacation crowds and the uncomfortable, extreme heat of mid-summer. The temperatures are not ridiculous yet, but they do call for plenty of water and plenty of shade.

This month, room rates start dipping to more affordable levels for the expensive properties, and the cheap hotels practically give away vacations as the temps start to rise in the desert, though it's a dry heat.

Las Vegas Weather in June

The weather is perfect for working on your summer color with a few hours at a swimming pool. Golf tee times should be scheduled for early or late. Take morning or evening walks if the temperatures are to hit the triple digits during the day. You will get some 100-degree days, but June still will also have some really nice days in the high 80s. There's also a very low chance of rain as Las Vegas only gets an average of .12 inches of precipitation.

  • Average high: 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37.7 degrees Celsius)
  • Average low: 69 degrees Fahrenheit (20.5 degrees Celsius)

What to Pack

Because the temperatures in Las Vegas range greatly from day to night, you'll want to bring a mix of clothing. In the afternoon when the heat and sun are the harshest, wear breezy clothing like dresses or cotton shirts and shorts. It's important to lather on lots of sunscreen as well. However, in the evening, the temperatures tend to drop so you may be more comfortable in jeans. Good walking shoes are important for exploring the Strip, and if you're planning on hitting the night clubs or fancy casinos, then you'll need a nicer outfit or dress to get past the bouncers.

June Events in Las Vegas

There's always something happening in Vegas, whether you want to see a show, go to a live concert, or just check out the sights.

  • Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con : This annual conference brings together all your favorite sci-fi characters and superheroes.
  • Lady Gaga : The queen of pop will be hosting a residency from June 1 to 15, 2019, at the Park Theater at Park MGM.
  • Ka by Cirque du Soleil : This 90-minute show features acrobats, aerial artists, and choreographed martial arts. It's held the whole month of June 2019 within the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino.

June Travel Tips

  • June is pool season, so you're likely to be outside all day. It's very important to stay hydrated and drink plenty of fluids while basking in the Las Vegas sun—that means drinking just as much water as you do alcohol.
  • If you want to escape the city, there are plenty of outdoors attractions ideal for June trips. Take a ride over to Lake Mead and rent a boat for the afternoon. You can also go  rock crawling  or  cool off with the sharks  at the aquarium.
  • Dining alfresco is one of the best things to do in June—especially at restaurants that have a view of the Las Vegas Strip at night . Outdoor meals at The Park Las Vegas are good, as the giant mist machines will keep you cool. If your budget can handle it, have dinner out on the patio at Costa Di Mare at the Wynn.

Manage your data

You can choose how your personal data is used. Vendors want your permission to do the following:

TCF vendors

Store and/or access information on a device

Cookies, device or similar online identifiers (e.g. login-based identifiers, randomly assigned identifiers, network based identifiers) together with other information (e.g. browser type and information, language, screen size, supported technologies etc.) can be stored or read on your device to recognise it each time it connects to an app or to a website, for one or several of the purposes presented here.

Use limited data to select advertising

Advertising presented to you on this service can be based on limited data, such as the website or app you are using, your non-precise location, your device type or which content you are (or have been) interacting with (for example, to limit the number of times an ad is presented to you).

Create profiles for personalised advertising

Information about your activity on this service (such as forms you submit, content you look at) can be stored and combined with other information about you (for example, information from your previous activity on this service and other websites or apps) or similar users. This is then used to build or improve a profile about you (that might include possible interests and personal aspects). Your profile can be used (also later) to present advertising that appears more relevant based on your possible interests by this and other entities.

Use profiles to select personalised advertising

Advertising presented to you on this service can be based on your advertising profiles, which can reflect your activity on this service or other websites or apps (like the forms you submit, content you look at), possible interests and personal aspects.

Create profiles to personalise content

Information about your activity on this service (for instance, forms you submit, non-advertising content you look at) can be stored and combined with other information about you (such as your previous activity on this service or other websites or apps) or similar users. This is then used to build or improve a profile about you (which might for example include possible interests and personal aspects). Your profile can be used (also later) to present content that appears more relevant based on your possible interests, such as by adapting the order in which content is shown to you, so that it is even easier for you to find content that matches your interests.

This can for example be used to adapt the order in which content is shown to you, so that it is even easier for you to find (non-advertising) content that matches your interests.

Measure advertising performance

Information regarding which advertising is presented to you and how you interact with it can be used to determine how well an advert has worked for you or other users and whether the goals of the advertising were reached. For instance, whether you saw an ad, whether you clicked on it, whether it led you to buy a product or visit a website, etc. This is very helpful to understand the relevance of advertising campaigns.

Measure content performance

Information regarding which content is presented to you and how you interact with it can be used to determine whether the (non-advertising) content e.g. reached its intended audience and matched your interests. For instance, whether you read an article, watch a video, listen to a podcast or look at a product description, how long you spent on this service and the web pages you visit etc. This is very helpful to understand the relevance of (non-advertising) content that is shown to you.

Understand audiences through statistics or combinations of data from different sources

Reports can be generated based on the combination of data sets (like user profiles, statistics, market research, analytics data) regarding your interactions and those of other users with advertising or (non-advertising) content to identify common characteristics (for instance, to determine which target audiences are more receptive to an ad campaign or to certain contents).

Develop and improve services

Information about your activity on this service, such as your interaction with ads or content, can be very helpful to improve products and services and to build new products and services based on user interactions, the type of audience, etc. This specific purpose does not include the development or improvement of user profiles and identifiers.

Use limited data to select content

Content presented to you on this service can be based on limited data, such as the website or app you are using, your non-precise location, your device type, or which content you are (or have been) interacting with (for example, to limit the number of times a video or an article is presented to you).

Ensure security, prevent and detect fraud, and fix errors

Your data can be used to monitor for and prevent unusual and possibly fraudulent activity (for example, regarding advertising, ad clicks by bots), and ensure systems and processes work properly and securely. It can also be used to correct any problems you, the publisher or the advertiser may encounter in the delivery of content and ads and in your interaction with them.

Deliver and present advertising and content

Certain information (like an IP address or device capabilities) is used to ensure the technical compatibility of the content or advertising, and to facilitate the transmission of the content or ad to your device.

Match and combine data from other data sources

Information about your activity on this service may be matched and combined with other information relating to you and originating from various sources (for instance your activity on a separate online service, your use of a loyalty card in-store, or your answers to a survey), in support of the purposes explained in this notice.

Identify devices based on information transmitted automatically

Your device might be distinguished from other devices based on information it automatically sends when accessing the Internet (for instance, the IP address of your Internet connection or the type of browser you are using) in support of the purposes exposed in this notice.

Use precise geolocation data

With your acceptance, your precise location (within a radius of less than 500 metres) may be used in support of the purposes explained in this notice.

Is Vegas Crowded in June? (What You Need To Know)

Fans of Las Vegas will insist that any month is the best to visit. However, some months are more popular for visiting. And you might want to know if June is one of them and if it’s crowded.

Vegas is crowded in June. Spring is one of the more popular times to visit Las Vegas, and those crowds carry over into June before the full summer heat hits. In addition, several events in Las Vegas in June attract many visitors, plus June is the start of summer vacation for families.

In this article, I will answer your questions about Vegas in June, including why Vegas is crowded in June, what to expect in terms of weather, the significant events happening during June in Vegas, and some quick tips on visiting Vegas with kids in June.

Why Vegas Is Crowded in June

Vegas is crowded in June because late spring and early summer in Las Vegas has beautiful weather with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures that visitors find enjoyable.

The spring crowd, especially people visiting during the Memorial Day weekend, naturally carry over into early and mid-June before the heat gets more intense in July and August .

Besides the comfortable weather in June, people flock to Vegas for a couple of exciting events happening in town, plus it’s a great way to celebrate the kick-off of the summer season.

I’ll explore these reasons for the crowd in June in more detail below:

June Weather in Las Vegas

June Weather in Las Vegas

The Vegas weather in June is perfect if you like warm weather! However, as Vegas residents are fond of saying, it’s a “dry heat.” This means that Las Vegas has a very low humidity level, unlike some other warm destinations that may be overly humid due to their proximity to water.

So, despite temperatures well into the 100s, you’re unlikely to feel suffocated as you might in other vacation spots.

In fact, according to Weather U.S , June might be one of the best all-around months for weather in Las Vegas:

  • The average high in June in Las Vegas is 93.4 Fahrenheit, while the average low is 71.4.
  • June is the least humid month of the year in Las Vegas, with a humidity level of 15%.
  • June is the least rainy month of the year in Las Vegas, with 1.4 days of rain.
  • June boasts the longest days of the year in Las Vegas, with 14.5+ hours of daylight.

For those who research the best months for weather in Las Vegas , there’s no doubt that June would be a top choice.

Remember, it’s still going to be hot! I recommend keeping yourself hydrated, wearing light clothing, and selecting a hotel with a great pool .

Best June Events in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is known for hosting some of the world’s most famous and well-attended events, ranging from global business conferences to magic shows and everything in between. Significant Vegas events in June include the World Series of Poker and Restaurant Week.

World Series of Poker (WSOP)

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) takes place in Las Vegas during the month of June.

One of the largest annual events in Las Vegas is the World Series of Poker (WSOP). This massive series of tournaments has occurred every year since the 1970s and draws enormous crowds to the city from May to July.

In 2023, the WSOP will occur at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas Hotels and Casino. These sister properties are next to each other, and you can even travel between them via monorail.

You might not know that WSOP registration is open to anyone – it’s not just for the pros! Participants must be 21 years or older and pay the buy-in for the specific tournament they’re interested in. Buy-in amounts range from hundreds to thousands of dollars.

Las Vegas Restaurant Week

Las Vegas Restaurant Week happens in June

Foodies will be excited to know that not only does Las Vegas have excellent restaurants, but the city also hosts a fantastic restaurant week each year in June. Restaurant weeks are popular in cities everywhere, but timing your trip to Las Vegas during restaurant week could give you some great options for dining out at a great price.

In addition, Las Vegas Restaurant Week supports a worthy cause. The event is organized by Three Square Food Bank, a nonprofit dedicated to hunger relief. As such, a portion of proceeds from each meal sold during Restaurant Week goes to Three Square Food Bank’s efforts in battling hunger in Las Vegas and the surrounding area.

Restaurant Week in Las Vegas is traditionally held each June. More information about this much-anticipated annual event can be found on the Las Vegas Restaurant Week website . The exact dates will be posted as June gets closer.

Las Vegas With Kids in June

Shark Reef: Las Vegas With Kids in June

While June is popular in Las Vegas for several reasons, for families with kids, it’s simply convenient as it’s the month that kicks off summer vacation.

Las Vegas might not be the first destination that comes to mind for a family-friendly trip. However, you might be surprised that many parents have found Las Vegas in June to be the perfect family getaway .

There is a never-ending list of what to do in Las Vegas with kids , but here are my top recommendations:

  • Shark Reef Aquarium: Since kids are fascinated by sharks, they’ll be excited about the various species on view here (and especially wowed by the Komodo Dragon exhibit).
  • Discovery Children’s Museum: This downtown museum features a 70-foot climbing tower that kids can use to access the museum’s interactive exhibits.
  • Cirque Du Soleil: As one of the most famous Las Vegas live performances, Cirque Du Soleil is visually stunning for any age group (it’s also considered family-friendly). Check out my guide to find the best Cirque du Soleil shows in Vegas .
  • Tournament of Kings: This famous show comes complete with jousting and a medieval feast that will keep your little knights and princesses engaged.

You can visit Vegas.com for great prices on both Cirque Du Soleil and Tournament of Kings .

Because June is a popular month in Las Vegas, the city will be crowded. With ideal weather, significant events, and summer vacation, June is one of the top months to visit Las Vegas. So, if you visit Vegas in June, you won’t have the city to yourself. However, you’ll undoubtedly have plenty of great activities to choose from!

Top 5 airlines flying to las vegas.

On my way home I had a layover. The flight from ATL to CLT was amended 5x while I was waiting. I could have driven home sooner. Overall from Dallas, Tx to Charlotte, NC I started my trip at 4:30pm, I didn’t get home until past midnight. I know things happen, but 5x to make me run back and forth in an airport from different terminals is excessive. I also upgraded to comfort + , I didn’t feel it was worth it. There was no benefit

They did a fine job. Can't wait to use Delta in the future.

There was a loud squeaky sound the whole time we were flying.

Had a broken tray in business class. Crew just shrugged it off.

Seat back monitors and outlets were dead and not working.

Everything was great except for the seat. The backrest would not stay in the upright position.

I usually have a positive experience with Delta. Complimentary upgrades are always nice!

Flight delayed about 2 hrs so it made it a VERY late night

It was a crowded flight. They did the best they could.

Due to one crew member not showing up to work, our flight was significantly delayed causing us to miss our connecting flight in Houston to Mississippi causing us to be delayed by more than 6 hours and missing our event all together. Very disappointing. All because ONE crew member called in sick. United did grant us a $15 meal voucher, which was a small but appreciated concession that I wasn’t able to use because I ordered my lunch and paid for it before applying the concession, and the staff said it was too late to use it. Ugh! We also had a TWO delay coming back from Mississippi, but that was on American Airlines and it was due to weather, so not their fault. Anyway, not at all impressed with United’s handling of our flight and the HUGE disappointment of missing our important family event for our 90 year old mother. All that money and all that stress and emotions for nothing. Having to wait the hour to bring an employee from LAX seemed like something that should not have happened. Why don’t you have a local back-up? Santa Ana is not a little airport in a rural area.

Flight delayed from Cape Town to Washington then got diverted to miami and in miami we had to fend for ourselves , im still trying to get to Shreveport now

delay several times and wait extra long to board. no entertainment service because there are problem for some rows. always encounter some delays for the last flight of the day.

I just wrote a text which was supposed to be for the flight from Denver to spokane not Frankfurt to Denver.

On time every leg of the journey and exceptional staff at counter, gate, and on board. I haven’t travelled in US for a long time and was genuinely surprised how pleasant this was.

The delays (5 hrs) were a comedy of errors, and the multiple safety issues encountered were very concerning.

flight delays, staff only communicating when pushed, food service lasting a grand total of 7 minutes, stuck in seat from 45mins into flight until landing

Crew was great and did their best to make us comfortable and captain came out at the beginning to announce why the flight was delayed, weather situation up ahead, and kept us updated throughout the flight.

they made me check my carryon. There was space in the overhead bins.

Nice flight, nice crew but no cookie or napkin with my seltzer.

This flight is frequently delayed. The connections seemingly are more frequently delayed. I’ve missed connections as a result twice on the same route to charlotte then Charleston. Final destination arrival has been the next day, twice in a row. No pilots, no crew. Too many excuses. Unfortunately, my days with American are over.

Entertainment was okay not because anything was wrong but it is a short flight so having no wifi is annoying but understandable. Crew was outstanding as usual

Those seats were way too narrow. I had the middle seat, one person was a very skinny person and we still couldn’t avoid touching each other anytime one of us moved. The other person was larger and we were basically sitting in each others lap the entire flight. There was zero entertainment. The flight was long enough to justify tvs, but no. Gotta sit there in your infant seat and twiddle your thumbs.

The Flight attendant had an attitude and didn't allow anyone any time to prepare for landing despite being absent throughout the entire trip

Flight boarded without pilots. Sat on plane for 3 hrs. after over an hour late boarding. Plane never took off. Had to deplane near midnight. Line for rebooking was 3 hours + long. I had to leave.

The flight was great but board was a nightmare. The gate was changed 4 times during the layover period

The experience was great and much better than the flight going out. of course I was in first class but the service was excellent

Cold air blew constantly on my legs almost making me numb.

Missed the flight because of them and up geting a rental car

Delayd flight out of atl as always miss my conection in dfw no flight untill next day

Kayak does not know that spirit airlines charged me $70 to fly. But the bag check-in was $89 each way. This is false advertising to lure people. Spirit airlines sends bunch of emails after flight purchases to buy wifi, better seats, priority boarding, secure reserved seats. This is false advertising. Up front pricing. I would of flown jet blue or Alaska airlines.

Every interaction the airline seems to want to find a different way to extract more money from you. The second leg of our journey they wouldn't let us board the plane without taking another $99 for a bag we asked about at the ticket counter and boarded with on the first leg of our journey. Horrible airline, poor culture. Not flying Spirit again.

Didn’t make the connecting flight due to a delay on our first flight.

I felt scam to have to pay $50 additional for my carry on luggage which was free for my other airline.

No basic services such as water, snacks. Internet very expensive. Seats were very small, hard and uncomfortable. Alaskan Airlines, my outbound flight to Boise from Orlando, offered beverage service, a snack, and reasonable priced internet, for the same price as my return trip on Spirit. It had more comfortable seating also.

Awful experience. Both flights were delayed several times with weather but also crew members being the official cause. The vouchers are unusable and insufficient ($50 voucher to fly the same crappy airline is a joke for putting me on a red-eye that landed at 3:00 am). The aircrafts were old and uncomfortable (have a real pocket on the seat, for crying out loud!).

The staff at the counter were very rude and unprofessional

Lower price not worth it. Delayed missed connection. Would have taken 24 hours to get to Atlanta. No takes your vouchers making them useless. Never again.

Horrible. Delay after delay. People yelling and making obseen gestures!

Overall good for being my first time flying with spirit

I purchased a carry on bag online…was supposed to cost $72 but after a whole slew of bs charges, the total was over $175.00. Because of these hidden charges, I will not even consider flying Frontier ever again. It’s just not worth the hassle. I’m scratching this company off my list forever.

Flight was OK. Seats were good no cell phone charges on the plane no TVs or entertainment.

There were 3 leg for the trip and each leg was delayed by 90 minutes or more. The boarding process takes forever with people waiting on the jetway even though most folks do not have carry-on. The whole process is poorly managed.

Flight cancelled and was told by a rude gate agent that they don’t accommodate on other airlines. Had to wait 5 hours for a connecting flight that had a 7 hour layover. Would not allow bags to be checked early so we couldn’t go through security .Had to rent a car for the afternoon to store bags and get a meal. Also incurred a hotel fee. No apology or reason given for the cancellation- just rudeness.

They cancelled the flight then did nothing to help us rebook. It was awful - I won’t fly with them again

The process of buying the ticket and navigating all the hidden charges that Frontier throws at you was a terrible experience. The actual airport experience and flying was fine.

The truck that was refueling the plane drove away with the hose still connected to the plane and ripped part of the plane off with it

Not have to pay for every single item to take a flight. Seating and delays sucked.

Flight was cancelled and I had to spend the night in the airport lugging my suitcase around

If you don’t check in 24 hours in advance, they will charge you $110 to check your bag instead of the $30. I did not get an email with this information and did not check in. In addition, my flight home was cancelled at layover and I had to spend the night in the airport, and then have another layover at another airport before making it home. Will not fly frontier again.

What to Pack for Vegas (Printable Packing List Included)

Woohoo! You’ve booked your tickets and now you just need to decide what to pack for Vegas ! When deciding what to wear in Las Vegas, know that in Vegas… anything goes! You will see people dressed to the nines, alongside others wearing tracksuits & sneaker.

Deciding on your clothes for Vegas will depend on what your trip to Vegas is all about. Are you going for a bachelorette weekend, to see shows, hit the spa, lounge by the pool, indulge at buffets… or all of the above?

Time of year will also hugely affect what to wear to Vegas. What to wear in Vegas in January differs dramatically compared to what to wear in Vegas in July. Being in the desert means temperatures in Las Vegas really fluctuate throughout the year. See the seasonal variations I’ve given at the end of the post for temperature charts on what weather you can expect, winter Vegas outfits and Vegas summer outfits.

My Vegas packing list will help your organise your outfits to wear in Vegas, pack your bag and get ready for your exciting trip to Sin City! You can download a PDF Vegas packing checklist to print out at the bottom of this post.

What You'll Find in This Post

How to Dress in Vegas (Dress Codes)

You might be surprised to learn that most of the casinos floors have NO dress code. If you’re just mooching about the casinos in the day you don’t need to worry about what you’re wearing. Even shorts & flip flops or track pants & sneakers are OK. By night you might want to put a little more effort in and dress the part but you won’t be turned away if you don’t. Casinos want you to gamble, no matter what you’re wearing.

Hotels ask you to wear pool cover ups or robes from the room to the pool. You also won’t be allowed to take the pool towel to your room so it makes sense to bring along a pool cover up or two.

Las Vegas night clubs do have a dress code. It’s stricter for men than it is for women. Men should wear “business casual” attire – jeans or pants, collared shirt and dress shoes. Women can wear any form of party or cocktail dresses, jumpsuits or even nice shorts with heels.

Fine dining restaurants, like Joël Robuchon at MGM , do have a formal dress code. Men need to wear suits and women need to wear elegant cocktail dresses.

What to Wear in Vegas (Women)

Many women struggle with what to wear to Las Vegas. It can be hard deciding what to pack for Las Vegas but if you lay out some ideas in your head or even physically on your bed before you go you’ll have no trouble. Las Vegas is pretty casual by day so you can wander around in what you’d wear for a trip to the mall or shopping with friends. What to wear for Vegas at night can go from extremely casual just hanging out on the casino floor in jeans & flats to ultra-glam cocktail attire.  It depends somewhat on your trip.

  • A mom going with her family will need shorts, jeans and tops for day & night. Don’t forget there are lots of fun things to do in Las Vegas with kids .
  • For a romantic weekend away with the hubby, pack great outfits for dinner, some easy day wear for activities and some sexy sleepwear. 😉
  • If you’re going for a bachelorette party weekend, bring heels and plenty of dress options for evening. Through in some comfortable clothes for daytime sightseeing and pool wear and you’re set.

What to Wear in Vegas (Men)

What do guys wear in Vegas? When deciding what to wear in Vegas for men, again, you need to pack for the activities that you’re planning. Men can’t go wrong with shorts & jeans teamed with tees & short sleeved shirts for day. Business casual is what men should wear in Vegas in the evening. A long-sleeved shirt, pants and dress shoes. If you’re doing any fine dining at restaurants with dress codes you’ll also need a suit and tie.

Vegas Outfits Ideas

I’ve put together a few ideas on clothes to wear in Vegas in the above graphic. You can find the links to all the clothes in the graphic listed in the packing list for Vegas below. I like to pack light so all the Vegas clothes I’ve selected mix & match with one another. This is just to give you an example of what Vegas wear looks like. It’s not a definitive list although if you wanted to pack really light this is all you’d need. For more outfit options through in a couple of more casual and evening tops, another pair of jeans or pants and a little black dress that you can dress up or down. Voila! You’re done.

Vegas Day Outfits

Want to know what to wear in Vegas during the day? Really anything goes. Your day outfits for Vegas depending on what you’re doing. Most likely you’ll be wandering The Strip, popping in and out of casinos, maybe doing a spot of shopping or riding roller coasters. Vegas day wear is pretty casual and fun. You’ll see shorts, t-shirts & sneakers or sandals wandering up and down The Strip in summer. There’s no other choice when it’s 115 degrees out! What to wear during the day in Vegas outside the hot summer months, you’ll find jeans the staple along with t-shirts or nice tops paired with sneakers or ballet flats. Just aim for what you’d wear on a trip to the mall or to meet friends for lunch at home.

What to Wear to Vegas Shows

If you’re wondering what to wear to a Las Vegas show, stop! You can pretty much wear whatever you want. Daytime shoes are super casual. Wear t-shirts with shorts or jeans. No swimwear obviously. Flip flops or sneakers are fine. By night, you can wear whatever you like to a show. Dress up if you’re going out for a nice dinner beforehand or to a club or the casino afterwards. If you’re just catching a show after a busy day shopping or sightseeing, you can wear jeans, shorts or even activewear. Really, no one really cares what to wear to Las Vegas shows!

What to Wear in Las Vegas Clubs

As mentioned above in the dress code section, Las Vegas attire for clubs is business casual for men. Collared shirts, slacks and dress shoes are pretty much the usual. You won’t see many men being admitted in sneakers & tees unless they’re high rollers. For women, a cocktail dress or party dress is the best choice of dresses to wear in Vegas. Think about what you’d wear to a New Year’s Eve party and that’s what people wear in Vegas on a night out clubbing.

Las Vegas Packing List

Here’s a list of what to bring to Las Vegas based on my suggestions above. Obviously you can omit the fancier clothes if you’re not planning on doing any fine dining or nightclubs. This list of what to pack for a trip to Las Vegas is good for a long weekend trip and will cover you for 3-4 days easily. If you’re planning a longer trip just add another couple of tops and bottoms to your list. Easy! You’ll find a printable version of this Vegas vacation checklist further down in this post.

  • Dress shoes for men
  • 2-3 swimsuits (depending on season)

  • Beach tote to take down to the pool – A folding one like this is fantastic for travel and can be folded up to store in your luggage
  • Dry bag for your swimsuit – Using a wet & dry bag like this means you can swim before your flight out and not worry about a wet swimsuit in your luggage!

  • After shave (travel size)
  • Any medication you might need

Other Things to Bring to Vegas

There are a few things to pack for Vegas that you might not think! From the amount of times I’ve been, I know what to bring to Vegas. Some stuff is just more expensive or difficult to find in the casinos and shops on The Strip. On my list of what to take to Vegas are some items for the harder partier, to prevent sore feet and hangovers, of course. Pick and choose from these things to take to Vegas depending on what you think you’d need.

  • Curling iron (travel size) or hair straightener (travel size)
  • Waterproof iPhone case – Take photos, update social media or use your phone in the pool.
  • Selfie stick – A must have on your list of things to bring to Las Vegas for Strip-side selfies.
  • Hangover supplies – Vegas necessities! Pack a small Ziploc bag with everything you need on hand to battle a hangover like painkillers , rehydration sachets or  hangover supplements.
  • Gel cushions for wearing heels – Vegas essentials for ladies on a big night out dancing!
  • Folding ballet flats for your purse – So you can escape your high heels if you have to!
  • Condoms – Because what happens it Vegas might not actually stay in Vegas 😉
  • E-cigars or cigarettes
  • Kindle – Loaded with books for reading on the plane and by the pool.
  • Phone, iPad and laptop – Whatever you think you’ll need for your trip!
  • All chargers for your electronics

Seasonal Variations When Packing for Las Vegas

The packing list I’ve included above is for the warmer months. For the winter & fall months, there are a few other items I would suggest.

  • What to wear in Las Vegas in January – January is the coldest month in Las Vegas. Many of the hotels shut their pools over winter as they are not heated or only open the hot tub in daylight hours. You’ll only need one bathing suit. Bring along an extra pair of jeans, an extra cardigan or sweater and a winter jacket. Merino layers are great for travel  and provide warmth without weight. Packable down jackets like this are good for warmth without bulk. Don’t bring a jacket or coat that you cannot wash as walking through smokey casinos can make your clothes smell. Forget the sandals and bring ankle boots & socks.
  • What to wear in Vegas in February – Pack as you would for January. You’ll still get a lot of sunshine in Las Vegas in winter so don’t forget the sunglasses.
  • What to wear in Vegas in March – March is a little warmer but I’d still recommend packing a jacket. It’s often very sunny in Vegas and might look warmer than you think it is. Once you step into the shade it can still be quite cold. You probably don’t need a down jacket but a lighter winter jacket would still be a good idea.
  • What to wear in Vegas in April – It’s April so pack your sandals again! The weather in April in Vegas is lovely in the daytime. I’d recommend packing a few warmer items just in case of temperature dips and a nice jacket to wear on cooler evenings.
  • What to pack for Vegas in May – Pack for lovely warm weather as listed in the packing list above. May is a perfect month to visit Vegas. Not too hot and not too cold.
  • What to wear in Vegas in June – You can ditch the jeans unless you plan on travelling in them or wearing them inside at night.
  • What to wear in Las Vegas in July – Forgo the jeans altogether and replace with denim shorts or a summer dress.  A maxi dress like this is perfect.
  • What to pack for Vegas in August – Pack the same as you would in July. It’s super hot in Vegas!
  • What to wear in vegas in September – The main packing list is perfect for September in Las Vegas.
  • What to wear in Vegas in October – Stick to the main packing list. October is a great month to visit Las Vegas.
  • What to wear in Vegas in November – Pack as you would for March.
  • What to wear in Vegas in December – Pack as your would for January.

What Not to Wear in Vegas

Now you know what to wear out in Vegas, here are just a couple of things that you should not add to your list of things to take to Las Vegas:

  • Jorts for men
  • This t-shirt! – It stopped being funny years ago!
  • Short + tight + shiny dresses – Keep it classy and pick a dress that is only one or two of the three!

How to Pack for Las Vegas

I love to pack light and travel carry on only so when you’re packing for Vegas I would recommend doing the same.

  • Carry on sized suitcase – This one comes highly recommended!
  • Packing cubes – My biggest tip for how to pack for Vegas is to use packing cubes to organise your luggage. Put your tops in one, your bottoms in another. Keep a small cube just for underwear and another for swimwear.  Read my complete guide to packing cubes here including a video on how to use them!
  • Ziploc bags – These are great for organising all your little bits and pieces like cellphone chargers, medication and makeup
  • Toiletry bag – A bag for your toiletries is useful. These hanging ones are great for travel . Or use a gallon-sized Ziploc bag .
  • Wet & dry bag – As mentioned above, this is a great addition to your packing list for Las Vegas. It means you can spend your last day by the pool and not worry about having a wet bathing suit in your luggage.
