After trying a few other local bus companies, we tried Victory Travel I have travelled with Victory tours on many occasions now and have never had a complaint with their service They are tops in driver safety, coach cleanliness, coach comfort and hospitality It is quite nice to sit back and enjoy my retirement years of travel with the security of knowing that Victory travel is at the wheel

Lily and Carlos do a sensational job curating the one of a kind vacations. I have been working with them for the past 7 years. Their knowledge and first hand experience is priceless.

Was referred to Victory Travel through family and am SO happy we did. Lily is THE BEST. She planned our entire Europe honeymoon itinerary (3 countries, 7 cities) for 2 weeks. Booked us the best flights, world class hotels, and private transportation and kept us in up-to-date on all COVID traveling requirements. Not only was she professional but she was a friend and knew so much about everywhere we went. Her recommendations were top notch and I can't wait to use her again for our next trip. What a gem. Words can not describe how wonderful our experience planning and booking our destination wedding with Lily was. Out of this world. She handled everything (flights, transfers, ferries and accommodations) our entire group. Lily also navigated many people through multiple airline schedule changes and re-bookings with ease. She even followed up with the wedding coordinator and management staff to ensure our honeymoon at the Secrets was magical.

Where do I start...I have known Lily Varona for now 10 years.  She first assisted me with a trip to Cancun, Mexico in 2009.  After a wonderful booking experience, I decided to use her travel expertise to book all my future trips.  Throughout the years, she has helped me book multiple trips, but without doubt her assistance in coordinating my destination wedding in Playa del Carmen, Mexico was beyond my expectations.    Lily took pride in working with us to make our destination wedding magical.  For starters, she made multiple suggestions as to which resorts had the best perks and would give us more for our money.  She advised us on the various wedding packages that were available and was transparent about the pros and cons of booking at each resort.  After much deliberation, my husband and I selected the Occidental at Xcaret Destination Resort as our wedding venue.  Lily communicated directly with the resort's booking department and got us the best group rate possible. She also connected with our wedding coordinator and made sure everything I wanted was honored.  Three months prior to the wedding, she traveled to Playa del Carmen specifically to tour the property and took beautiful pictures of the resort for us.  Since my husband and I couldn't travel to Mexico prior to the wedding, Lily was kind enough to do our meal tasting and we couldn't have been happier with her meal suggestions.  She took pictures of the meal presentations, which assisted us in making our final selection.    Lily also met with our event coordinator at the Xcaret Park where we had our religious ceremony.  She toured the Chapel of Guadalupe and walked the park noting some of the setbacks we may encounter the day of the wedding.  For instance, she noticed that our guests would have to walk some distance to the chapel from the main entrance of the park and suggested that we provide water.  She also secured a room for me to get ready prior to the ceremony.  My event coordinator never mentioned that I had access to the bride room had it not been for Lily's intervention.  I am beyond grateful for this request because I was able to change into my wedding gown in an air conditioning room with water and a restroom.    Aside from assisting us with the resort coordination, Lily also helped us coordinate airfare, land transportation, and resort stays for our 50 guests.  She orchestrated everything to PERFECTION!!  She flew guests in from Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Florida.  When our guests arrived to Mexico, they were greeted with a Welcome sign that included our picture.  She meticulously coordinated every detail to make our guests feel welcome and safe.  Lily was extremely patient and released a tremendous amount of stress off our shoulders by assisting our guests with their travel needs.  She accommodated to their special requests and responded their questions promptly.   Lily went far and beyond to make our special day MAGICAL!! When she traveled to Mexico prior to our wedding date, she secretly made special arrangements that would later be a wonderful surprise for us.  She personally selected the best suite in the entire resort which had a spectacular ocean view! Upon our arrival, we had a bottle of Champagne and a cheese/meat platter awaiting in our room.  On our wedding night, we had chocolate filled strawberries and another bottle of Champagne.  We even got a special gift from the resort with extra goodies.  I can honestly go on and on about how spectacular and smoothly everything went the day of our wedding.  Lily is phenomenal!!   Lily, we honestly thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our wedding day the BEST day of our lives.  Thanks to you, I was an immensely happy bride and my childhood fantasy became a reality.  We love you very much!  You not only provided us with your travel service, but poured your heart into our wedding planning as it was your own. Thanks to my good friend Barbara Hull who referred us to Carlos and Lily who owns this travel agency for 37 years! I gave them a week to booked a trip to Spain with my friend Mila. Carlos go beyond the call of duty to make sure that we get the best deal on plane tickets and hotels. He even put together a perfect itinerary. He worked out all travel arrangements and tours between Barcelona and Madrid including shuttle service to and from airport to hotels. He had lots of knowledge on each city we were traveling to! I highly recommend Victory Plaza Travel for any travel needs. 5+ Star Service you can rely on!

I can't say enough good things about Lily Varona, co-owner of Victory Plaza Travel! My sister and I recently took a 3-week trip abroad and Lily created a customized tour based on our expansive wish list of places we wanted to visit and things we wanted to see in London, northern England's Lake District, Paris and Amsterdam. Our wish list kept growing and changing, so I can't imagine we were the easiest of clients, but she was always patient about the adjustments to our itinerary. She tended to all the details, booking our transportation (planes, trains, and rental car), hotels, private car transfers, and day excursions, all at a reasonable price. This was the trip of a lifetime and I'll be forever grateful to Lily for making it happen!

In planning for a 3 week trip abroad, agent Lily Varona, helped book a tailor-made tour including London and the Lake District, Paris and Giverny, and Amsterdam, together with all transfers, convenient hotels, day excursions, and trains, planes and rental car reservations. Every part of the trip went smoothly and well within budget. Lily was patient with adding new details to my wish list on the itinerary. I am most grateful for her expertise in making this trip a memory of a lifetime. I most strongly recommend Lily and the Victory Plaza Travel and Tours Agency.

Lily takes care to cover every detail of the trip. In every airport there was someone to pick us up and be sure we were well taken care of. The vacation was well organized, informative and fun. Every hotel was located in a convenient part of the city. Her thoroughness made the vacation memorable.

NEGATIVE STARS - I just found out that this travel agency received my refund 2 weeks ago and have yet to give me my money back. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!! I sent them an email and NO RESPONSE.

If I can rate this travel agency a negative stars...I WOULD. They handled my brother's destination wedding and their communication skills are as bad as a newborn baby. The professional etiquette of returning phone calls and/or emails is 24 hours. Try a 4 days to even a week! I understand you can get busy but acknowledge a person by letting them know you got their message but you will get back to them. I was able to get a refund from the airlines and confirmed with the airlines that a check was issued. The owner stated he didn't know when he would get the money credited back. ARE YOU SERIOUS?!? He said 10 days....10 days from when?! He didn't know. DON'T EVERY TELL A CUSTOMER I DON'T KNOW. Figure it out and get back to me. Will I ever go back to them or refer any business?!? HELL NO!! Btw, the airlines sent the refund on 05/17, its 06/02 and I still haven't received my refund back. He states he doesn't know when he'll get it on their company card. I'll post an update when this refund finally gets to my hands.....

I really DO NOT understand the reviews that people have given this agency. Lily and Carlos have always given me the best service and always the best deal on all my trips. They have been in this business for more than 25 years and I really doubt they would have survived that long if they didn't give the best business to their customers.

WonderWorks: Myrtle Beach

This once top-secret laboratory was located in the Bermuda Triangle. An experiment gone awry lifted the laboratory, carrying it to Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach where it landed upside down. Luckily, all of the exhibits remained intact and available for guests to explore.

Luray Caverns

Alex Garland’s provocative “ Civil War ” didn’t only ignite the discourse . The film also inspired audiences to go to the cinemas this weekend where it surpassed expectations and earned $25.7 million in ticket sales in North America, according to studio estimates Sunday.

It’s the biggest R-rated opening of the year to date and a record for A24, the studio behind films like “Everything Everywhere All At Once” and “The Iron Claw.” “Civil War” also unseated “ Godzilla x Kong ” from its perch atop the box office. The titan movie from Warner Bros. had held the No. 1 spot for the past two weekends .

“Civil War,” starring Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura and Cailee Spaeny as front-line journalists in the near future covering a devastating conflict in the U.S. and trying to make their way to Washington, D.C. The story, written by Garland, who is also the mind behind “Ex Machina” and “Annihilation,” imagines a U.S. in which California and Texas have united against a president who has disbanded the FBI and given himself a third term.

Though entirely fictional, “Civil War” has been inspiring debates since the first trailer that have extended beyond the musings of film critics and traditional reviews. This weekend, The New York Times ran two opinion pieces related to the movie, one by Stephen Marche and another by Michelle Goldberg . There were also pieces on CNN and Politico.

Going into the weekend, projections pegged the film to debut in the $15 to $24 million range. The studio said “Civil War” overperformed in markets “from LA to El Paso.” The data analytics company EntTelligence reported that the film has attracted over 1.7 million patrons this weekend and that the top three markets were Los Angeles, New York and Dallas.

“The title alone is enough to spark a conversation in a year where the political discourse is top of mind,” said Paul Dergarabedian, the senior media analyst for Comscore. “And they couldn’t have picked a better date. This movie is perfectly timed in a month that is very quiet.”

The film opened on 3,838 screens in the U.S. and Canada, including IMAX. It’s the most expensive movie that the studio has ever made, with a production budget of $50 million, which does not account for millions spent on marketing and promotion.

IMAX showings of “Civil War,” which was playing on 400 of the large format screens, accounted for $4.2 million, or 16.5% of the domestic total.

Reviews have been largely positive. It’s currently at 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 77% audience score. Its CinemaScore was a B-, which has sometimes indicated that word of mouth might not be strong going forward. But that might not be the case with “Civil War,” which doesn’t have a tremendous amount of competition over the next few weeks until “The Fall Guy” opens on May 3.

“You have to take all the metrics together, including the competitive landscape,” Dergarabedian said.

But it is a notable win for the studio, which doesn’t always open films nationwide out of the gates. Before “Civil War,” A24’s biggest debut was the Ari Aster horror “Hereditary,” which opened to $13.6 million in 2018.

“This isn’t destined to be a $200 million global blockbuster. But it’s a very high-profile win for A24,” Dergarabedian said. “They’re a studio that pushes the envelope. They’re a brand associated with a certain level of quality and filmmaking expertise, pushing boundaries and taking risks. It’s well-earned over the years.”

Second place went to “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,” which earned $15.5 million in its third weekend to bring its running domestic total to nearly $158 million. Another “Empire” movie, Sony’s “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” took third place in its fourth weekend with $5.8 million. It’s now at $160 million worldwide.

Rounding out the top five was Universal and DreamWorks’ “Kung Fu Panda 4,” in fourth with $5.5 million in weekend six, and “Dune: Part Two” with $4.3 million in its seventh weekend. “Dune 2” has now earned $272 million domestically.

This weekend also saw the box office year-to-date comparisons take a big hit. Last year, “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” brought in over $92 million in its second weekend in theaters. On the same weekend in 2023, the top 10 accounted for over $142 million, compared to this year’s $68.4 million. The year to date is back down to 16% after seeing some recovery with the success of “Dune: Part Two.”

“The box office has been a seesaw,” Dergarabedian said. “But we all knew this was going to be a rough month for comps because of ‘Mario.’”

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Comscore. Final domestic figures will be released Monday.
