This is such a bad app it's hard to say…

This is such a bad app it's hard to tell! I don't know who is responsible and who came up with such an "upgrade" to a previously very solid flight check app, but this person or persons do not deserve to be paid! This app is completely useless!!! It serves absolutely no purpose! Since I myself work a lot in the field of tourism, I used to use it daily, now I NEVER use it! I just can't believe that despite all these bad reviews, they still haven't done anything to at least bring it up to the level of the previous generation of the app. Terrible!

Completely useless!

Completely useless.! It logged me out a week ago and I can’t get back in. The emails with the log in code do not arrive and now I have lost my history for good it seems. They had an update last year and has not worked properly since.

I'd give this app a 0 if it were an option...Had to enter my trip manually since the app didn't find my airline confirmation code. Then the system changed my dates from 4-8 (April 8) to 8-4 (August 4) even though its example showed the American configuration. Tried to contact Checkmytrip but there was no way to do so.Then on day of departure, it got no gate or departure information. Got no notification that my flight was delayed. Trust the Airline websites, NOT this app.

Date of experience : April 07, 2023

Useless, a waste of time.

As others have noted, flights must be manually loaded leg by leg, the app has no clue when I’ve already checked in, and just redirects back to the airline(s) to start again. Chat “assistant” is useless and there is no way to contact a human.

Date of experience : November 28, 2023

The ‘new’ app is badly designed

The ‘new’ app is badly designed, can only have been tested by no one or incompetent persons, does not work. Revert to old app that worked perfectly well or I go to another provider. Basic functionality has ceased, making the app useless. The bot is a waste of time. If an external provider delivered this product, they should have a warranty/ refund claim against them!

Date of experience : March 24, 2023

In my opinion it's not worth using!

In my opinion it's not worth using! In my opinion this adds nothing extra to the travel process. Does nothing more than summarise the flight details. The airlines own website does that anyway! I found it much easier to go direct to the airline website where richer content is available - changes/seat reservations/add-ons can be made - but can not be done through this website - It is just a flight viewer. This just seems an additional complexity to me.

Absolute rubbish

Absolute rubbish. It used to be good until about a year ago and now you can’t add trips it doesn’t recognise anything it’s just absolute rubbish Also it lost all my history.

Date of experience : December 31, 2023

Needlessly stressful and frustrating

have removed their main web page and now only can use the app. The app is basically non-functional, cannot add flights booked by any method it has told me. They have hidden details to contact any human for help. I wouldn't book again with them as it's frustrating and needlessly stressful.

Date of experience : March 29, 2023

This app is misleading and UNRELIABLE!

This app is misleading and just not reliable. It does not recognise Airport codes from SWISS International Airlines at all. For London Airports it automatically indicates LCY which is London City Airport. Like this I have missed several flights going to the wrong airport. It also mixes up flight times and arrival times occasionally. DO NOT USE THIS APP!!! I am surprised that airline booking system like Amadeus publishes such a bad product! STAY AWAY! other apps are much better going into more details and giving much more service.

Date of experience : February 21, 2018

I have tried repeatedly to add a trip…

I have tried repeatedly to add a trip and the app gets it wrong each and every time. It does not recognise booking references nor flight reservations. There is no way of overriding incorrect information. Re-entering the correct data yields the same incorrect outcome. I have therefore abandoned the app (which was brilliant beforehand) and use the travel operators apps instead. I have zero confidence in Check My Trip anymore. What an unmitigated disaster!

Date of experience : March 18, 2023

Ruined an excellent app with this update

I agree with the previous comments. The new version of the app is useless - no seat numbers, seat maps, aircraft types or even the ability to easily add a new booking without fighting with the chat robot. The version does not even update bookings. I had a BA flight cancelled 2 weeks ago for August and had to rebook. As of 5 minutes ago the CheckMyTrip app still shows the cancelled flight as confirmed. They have ruined what was an excellent app.

Date of experience : March 10, 2023

DO NOT USE!

My flights departing London Luton show on checkmytrip.com as departing London City. Completely unacceptable. I'm so glad I noticed this before arriving at the wrong airport, others have not been so lucky. Will never use this website again. It is also now overrun with adverts.

Date of experience : March 25, 2018

Incorrect flight delay information

Usually a great app. However, my return flight ANU-LGW displays Changes and now shows my flight departing 23 hours late. This would be welcome information if it was correct, however, having checked every other source and even phoned the airline, my flight leaves on time If I rely on the app information I will miss my flight! Therefore, as I can not rely on this app anymore it is irrelevant.

Reply from CheckMyTrip

Hello! Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry for the unpleasant experience.

Not so great app after changes

This used to be my favorite app, but after change its total disaster. Its not updating data, has flights in random order, some flights just disappear, no 24 hrs format anymore.

Date of experience : July 09, 2023

Hello, Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We are working on improving the experience in our next releases. The CheckMyTrip team

New version of CheckMy Trip does not work

The app asked to update the version. I did. The new version is a total waste, doesn't work. Absolutely useless. Can't even add, future trips using Add trip button, when I click the button it goes to the chat menu. No basic testing has been done on the app. Better if you withdraw the app and re-install the previous version, which was working

Unfit for purpose

Installed app. Was asked to put in booking reference. It wasn't accepted, despite being correct. Digital assistant provided no assistance. Deleted account and uninstalled app. Waste of time, unfortunately. A travel app that can't do travel.

RIP Checkmytrip app

RIP Checkmytrip app How to spoil a perfect app. This tool was my favorite Travel organiser Now its dead ! On March 1 - all was forced to accept a upgrade to “a new app”. Since then NOTHING works anymore. All future bookings, all former flights - all “gone” The new version, can only be seen as “an insult” or bad joke ! It does no longer show seating, changes etc And it’s a fight getting the correct PNR’s accepted (including SAS) If you find an alternative, please let me know asap. I feel lost !

Date of experience : May 28, 2023

Disappointed

I used to rely on this app every time I had a trip and it worked well. Now it won't even add my flights....I forwarded the reservation email, I gave the PNR number, I even added the flights manually. I keep getting emails stating that the trip was added, but nothing. Had to download another similar app to be able to check my res on my phone. Very disappointed.....

Date of experience : May 25, 2023

This app is garbage

This app is garbage. We've used TRIPMASTER in the past and it was flawless. This app can only post our flight details and nothing more. In an effort to start from scratch I deleted the trip, went to post it again and it can't find the past trip or find the current one, saying I should "try later". All emails sent to them that are supposed to populate details in the app get kicked back too as "Oops, something went wrong, try later" There is literally no way to contact them either.

Does anybody use it?

I downloaded it for our next vaccation, what is real weird it shows BKK - AMM as cancelled, if I check it on CheckMyTrip on my computer everything is fine, if I check it on the Royal Jordanian app and on their homepage everything is fine.

Nobody here uses it?

check my trip app

1. Get a 2nd opinion - use the my flights app (only available on iOS) or use their web page. My flights can usually show more information.

2. If it still shows a cancelled sector in a few days, call your local RJ office when convenient to double check what is going on.

Note that a number of airlines are busy filing their summer schedules at the moment and as a result there are a number of changes going through the global booking systems.

I use check my trip for my bookings with BA.

Check my trip is an Amadeus app which some travel companies (inc BA) use for their bookings - it has limitations when airlines are shuffling their schedules but definitely serves a purpose.

Websites sometimes take time for being updated correctly, I would give them a call.

myflights also use the amadeus system .... so this app is a good choice for android users

I have been using Check My Trip but, despite being owned by Amadeus, it is full of bugs. Specifcally:

It can get the departure airport wrong - how could it do that?

Seat allocations are often out of date.

Type of aircraft is often out of date.

Sad that it is so poor.

And ... The myflights app was discontinued in December 2017.

' class=

I use it sparingly. I use tripcase. If I have more than 2 reservations on it , it deletes one of them

Excellent 2/3 of the time... update, downgraded to 1 star.

Update.... Still not working as it should. Sent in an email for round trip Air and another email for hotel at the destination and the same hotel upon return to the originating point. Why does it show as 3 separate trips? I now have one trip showing for the hotel outbound, another trip for the round trip air and yet another trip for the return hotel. I only use CheckMyTrip because my travel company uses it but would like to use it exclusively. Until it is fixed, I’ll continue uses Kayak which works all the time. Works great on 2 out of 3 trips I have tried to input. For some reason it won't accept one of the trips on United although another trip that was accepted was United as well. This has the makings of a great app. It has all the pertinent information I need concerning my schedules and I really want to like it but unless it can consistently prove accurate. This is the message I get when trying to input one trip: "8104 - We are unable to find this confirmation number. Please validate your entry and try again or contact us for further information. (8104 [1929])" If this worked, I would easily give it 5 stars. I could be that good. Others had the same problem. Please fix!

No customer service

I have a simple question for these folks - how do I set the monetary denomination for activities? Right now it’s showing in euros, even for trips and activities entirely within the US. I’d like to set it to dollars. The bigger problem is that there is absolutely no way to reach anyone at this company. There is nowhere to put a question, there is no email address, no form to fill out on CheckMyTrip or the website, simply no door to knock on to get any kind of response from anyone within this company. So that’s not so great. A company that completely locks itself out from its users is, in my experience, not going to create a satisfactory user experience. And I have to do all the monetary calculations by hand it to convert from euros to dollars. Dumb. Other than that, I haven’t had any trouble with it. I have been able to get my trips to show in CheckMyTrip just fine.

Check My Trip

Check My Trip is a great place to store my trip schedules. I’m traveling around the world and in Eurasia right now. I have set up a home base in Siem Reap, Cambodia. So many of my trips start from there. It’s really inexpensive there and a lot of people speak English. I have about 10 trips a year and it was very easy to get mixed up with some trips on Orbitz, some on Priceline, and some just booked directly with the assorted Airlines. Now its all conveniently located in one app. Check My Trip, and it’s so easy. Just email you information from each sight and Check My Trip does all of the rest of the organizing for me. Love it! Now from a very well organized World Traveler. Best Regards, Curt Harmon

Pretty cool

I really enjoy using CheckMyTrip. For the most part, it’s user friendly, helps you keep up with your travel necessities. CheckMyTrip is perfect for people who are always on the go and have a hard time remembering what time the flight leaves, did they book a car or hotel for the trip? Etc. One downfall is when you forward your email confirmation to them to add to your itinerary, it doesn’t always go through. I usually buy my flights through 3rd party venders so I can get a cheap fight and they emails aren’t always the best. So forwarding them to Check My Trip, gets a little challenging. Luckily there’s an option to add it in manually, but doing so won’t give you the awesome updates on your flight like ex: “flight 305 is delayed by 1 hour”. Also, I’m so sick and tired of Ads. They are anywhere and everywhere (including CheckMyTrip).

By Cool Person :)

I downloaded CheckMyTrip because the travel agency (Great Value Vacations booked through Groupon) I used suggested I do this in order to track my upcoming trip to Rome. Not only was confirming my vacation extremely easy, looking for and booking activities through CheckMyTrip was amazing! You can get literally everything done in one place. From booking transportation to and from the airport to your hotel, to finding whole city walking tours, CheckMyTrip helps you get it done. I’m sure there are many other deals to find if you look somewhere else, but for first time travelers, I would highly recommend CheckMyTrip for ease, convenience, and a peace of mind.

Doesn't work - displays wrong flight information

I forwarded my flight confirmation, and CheckMyTrip initially displayed the flight information correctly. The next time I opened my trip in CheckMyTrip , CheckMyTrip had the wrong date and time for the first leg of my flight - off by almost two months. I closed CheckMyTrip then opened it a few hours later. The flight information was still wrong, just a different wrong. Now CheckMyTrip showed the first leg of my flight as being about 9 hours earlier than it actually is scheduled and the second leg of the flight about 13 hours earlier than it is actually scheduled for - both legs of the flight are wrong, and the flight times overlap by several hours. Yes, i double checked my reservation with the airline on line, and my flights are at the times I originally scheduled. The problem is with CheckMyTrip , and it makes CheckMyTrip useless.

I wouldn't have gotten on my flight if it weren't for this app

I bought last minute tickets from a weird intermediary website because they were a fourth of the price as other airlines. Problem was, their number didn't work and it kept changing as I was trying to contact them. Super sketch. Bottom line, they didn't send me my boarding passes until after my flight. I was not paid to write this review or anything. But if you run into a problem like this download this app so you can actually get your boarding passes before the plane takes off, and never but plane tickets from sites like Opodo or Edreams.

Check my trip review

I really liked using check my trip. I just emailed to them the itineraries of several flights I had within a great trip we had planned (before Covid-19 interrupted them). CheckMyTrip put all of the flight details in one handy place where I could easily pull them up and I had to, indeed, to keep track of which ones were being cancelled at any point. It was much easier than using the individual airlines’ sites in several cases in fact. This is an app I will definitely use again in the future.

Doesn’t Accept Trip Info via App or Email

We booked a trip w/ Great Value Vacations & they informed us that all changes & travel alerts would be made via this app so we need to use CheckMyTrip . However, CheckMyTrip does NOT recognize the reservation number & when we’ve tried sending our itinerary via email (per their instructions), we receive a response stating our information can not be added. There is no customer service number or information re: adding our trip manually. We’re taking a multi-flight vacation in 2 countries so accuracy re: our trip details is imperative. We’ve contacted Great Value Vacations & they were absolutely no help. Have tried several times to send trip information to this app along with a request for assistance but only receive a “canned” reply. I’d say their customer service is poor but there is no service.

By Fungjones

Started using involuntarily. Love it.

I had been using another travel/reservations tracking app for awhile, when my primary travel company, Overseas Adventure Travel, started using this app. It became very inconvenient to have both so I switched. I have found this app to work perfectly nearly every time (only Volaris Airlines, a Mexican carrier wouldn’t work) and the apps ability to import all sorts of formats is amazing. It even understands to insert elements of the same trip, but added later, into the right place. Works with hotels and rental cars, too. All you need and free (at least, the version I use).

Real time updates

I was amazed to see how quickly the changes/updates to my flight were uploaded. I made an update through the airline & a couple of minutes later I checked the “check my trip” app and saw the updates. I was a little hesitant at first and wondered how reliable CheckMyTrip is because I had issues in the beginning. However, it turns out that the issue was traced back to the travel agency. I’m grateful for CheckMyTrip because now the travel agency & airline are on the same page.

By Andy & Raven

Check My Trip is an essential travel tool

I’ve always relied on Check My Trip as a reminder and timely updates. Now more than ever it’s necessary to keep up with reroutes, cancellations and time changes for my flights. Check My Trip updated my flights and alerted me to the many, many flight changes sometimes days before the airlines or my travel agent did. Whether you have 1 or many trips in the future It is a must have friendly tool.

By LuciaMonteiro

Very helpful

It is a great app to organize and remind you about travel arrangements. It keeps your trips in a chronological order and sends you notifications about changes: time, gates and help you with local information and airport transportation. Very easy to include a new trip just forwarding the confirmation by e-mail. I have been using for a long time, for my own business and holiday travel but I also included travel from close members of my family, so I won’t forget. Awesome.

By Bumihills

Loved it. Not so happy now. grrr

Has been working great for 4 trips. Did hit a snag when I arranged an airport to hotel transfer that didn’t show up. That took a while to get a refund. But the big problem is trip five. The info posted is incorrect. It can’t be deleted. When I tried to correct one of the connecting flights, I was able to but the wrong information also remained. Another connecting flight is also wrong and when I tried to correct it, the correction didn’t appear. The whole thing now looks like a mess. If you go to app support...you simply get general information and how to download CheckMyTrip . Can’t contact anyone to fix the problem.

By bechpasu

Saved my trip

I had booked flights in March for August travel. Downloaded CheckMyTrip on Tuesday and CheckMyTrip told me that 3 out of my 4 flights were canceled or changed. I never got a notification from airline or Chase portal. Without CheckMyTrip I would have had quite a nasty surprise come August. Thanks to this app I’m able to fight the changes or reschedule with enough to me before the flights.

I would like to see a few more things: ability to add or interface with Air b&b or VRBO, at the moment you can’t even really enter them. Ability to edit entries that are forwarded by email. Ability to enter details about gates, cars, seats either in the main entry or a notes section for important information. So far it’s nice for keeping track of planes, trains and hotels, but flexibility is lacking. At this point my calendar has more flexibility than CheckMyTrip for what I want to do. It’s a great idea it just needs more development.

By MelanieIntheknow

Timely updates

A few days ago, I had a delayed and eventually cancelled flight - CheckMyTrip provided accurate and up to date info on what was happening with my flight status. I had updates on CheckMyTrip before the gate agents and the specific airlines mobile app had the info. I was sharing updates with other passengers and they all quickly downloaded CheckMyTrip.

By Clickish

A useful organizer

I’ve been using this to help organize my business travel and find it very useful. Adding to the itinerary via email is very straightforward, though the server that supports this seems to have trouble interpreting some of my travel notifications and these have to be done manually. Folks with heightened information privacy concerns probably should be wary: how CheckMyTrip and the supporting server protect (or distribute) personal information isn’t clear.

By Kaghiina

Have used it for my own flights and that of friends coming to visit me. Although it hasn’t always worked for adding hotels, the ability to manually enter the information circumvents this problem. Extremely helpful in keeping me organized and on time across varying airports and countries. The alerts of time and gate changes are invaluable!

By Mmr-food

Really helpful

I get updates about changes to flights in a timely manner —something the airlines aren’t so good at. I don’t have to check myself which is wonderful. I just used the calendar sync. Love it! An upcoming trip has 15 flights over 3+ weeks and with one click all that is in my calendar. What a time saver! Not to mention less error prone.

By 33Elle331313

Cat liver 900   1 year ago

I have used this successfully for several years. They did an “update” and now none of my upcoming trips are on the app. Fortunately I’m at home and was looking at it so I could book some local travel on one of the trips. How can I ever trust this app again? I would always have to carry back up copies of my travel details, which negates the point of the app. Disappointed and looking for a travel app that’s reliable.

Best Flight Status Application

The most Accurate Flight Status Application which identifies immediately any changes happens to any Flight after setting the Booking Number of the Flight.

Worst Downgrade ever

I do not know what the development team was thinking about when they did the last upgrade to the App. Lots of details were removed from the trip like eticket number, flight class, …. Very bad interface with much harder experience, I do not know if you ever heared about UX. A fundamental law of software evolution is to “Keep the user familiarity” The chat pot is the worst ever, and Ut is not “just use a chat pot” anyhow if it is not needed here Migration of old data was horrible and lots of past trips lost At the end of the day, the only good thing about this update is that it is a very good example of the worst practices you can do when you evolve a software and I use it when teaching “software maintenance and evolution” course to my students in the university

3 travel apps you need before your next flight to keep you out of long TSA lines

Travel can be stressful, especially when airports are involved.

Flights get delayed, or, worse still, canceled.

Ever-growing security lines sometimes snake through the airport, putting you in jeopardy of missing your flight.

Start the day smarter. Get all the news you need in your inbox each morning.

Last-minute changes can happen and derail months of planning, potentially starting off your trip on a bad note.

Programs like TSA PreCheck and Global Entry can help travelers, but there are also ways that tech can help you prepare for your journey and stay aware of the curveballs that might come your way.

Here are three apps to download before your next trip.

Watch the video above to learn which three apps you need before your next trip.

Airline app

Download your airline’s app!

It keeps all of your travel information in one, easy-to-access place.

Turn on notifications to get immediate alerts when it's time to check in so you'll know if there are any delays or gate changes.

Once you have a boarding pass, save even more time by adding it to the digital wallet on your smartphone.

MyTSA

The lines at airport security can be very unpredictable. Sometimes there is no wait, other times, the line extends into the check-in area.

The Transportation Security Agency’s (TSA) app, MyTSA, tries to make the wait a little more predictable and helps you determine what to expect, especially if you’re traveling from one of the busiest airports in the US.

The app provides a real-time look at your selected airport's wait time, any FAA delays, and which TSA PreCheck lanes are open.

The app also uses historical data to help you plan ahead. So, even if your flight is three days away, the app can show you what you’re likely to encounter that day based on previous experiences.

It’s also a useful resource if you’re unsure about what you can or can’t pack in your carry-on and checked luggage.

Mobile Passport Control

If you’re traveling abroad, the Mobile Passport Control app makes your return through U.S. customs much faster.

The app is a digital version of the Customs and Border Patrol Declaration Form that anyone entering the U.S. is required to fill out.

You can save up to 12 profiles in the app, and only one form is needed per family, per residence.

The app doesn't work at every airport, so check  the CBP website to see where you can use it.

Man shocked by $143,000 phone bill from overseas trip

A Florida man got the shock of his life by looking at his cellphone bill after a trip to Europe.

(Gray News) - When it comes to your phone plan, it helps to read the fine print. A Florida man learned that the hard way after he incurred a fortune in roaming charges during a trip to Europe.

Rene Remund told WFTS he was charged $143,269 for using 9.5 gigabytes of roaming data during a three-week trip to Switzerland.

He said he’s been a T-Mobile customer for more than 30 years and said he had been assured beforehand at a T-Mobile store that he would be “covered” while overseas.

At first, Remund said his eyes deceived him, as he thought the bill was for $143.

He said he got in touch with a representative, who assured him the bill was correct. At that point, he turned to legal help.

T-Mobile ended up crediting him for the account.

The Federal Communications Commission encourages people to know the details of their cellular plan coverage before they go on international trips, including whether your mobile phone will work there, what the roaming rates are and how to track your usage.

T-Mobile similarly encouraged its customers to check the details of their plans before setting out, as some older plans don’t include international roaming.

“If you’re not on a Go5G, Magenta, ONE Plan, Essentials, or a Simple Choice plan and you’ll be traveling outside the U.S., you can add World Class International Roaming to each line,” T-Mobile said on its webpage devoted to explaining its international roaming services . Customers can do this by managing their plan .

Other options include blocking international data and having a prepaid plan while overseas.
