There are no tour arrangements booked on Day 1 of the itinerary and you are free to arrive at any time on this day. Customers make their own way to the hostel on their arrival into London.  Customers must make their own way to the tour meeting point on Day 2 of the package to meet their group leader and tour group.

Once booked, you will be send pre-arrival tour information. 

The Europe Group adventure uses rail as the key mode of transport throughout the itinerary.

Return Eurostar trains from London are used, and all high-speed trains are used throughout Europe including one night train in comfortable couchette compartments.

3 NIGHTS AMSTERDAM

Experience Amsterdam’s liberal nightlife by visiting the famous Red Light District and spending a night on an included pub crawl. Visit some of Amsterdam’s many museums and art galleries: the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank House. Relax and stroll through the city’s coffee shops, pretty markets and riverside bars. Take in the sights of the canals and beautiful homes by bike and discover Europe’s biggest historic centre.

3 NIGHTS BERLIN

Marvel at the impressive views of Berlin’s bustling city from the classic Berlin landmark– Alexanderplatz TV tower. Experience the contrast between the old and new in this unique city; see the famous Check Point Charlie, climb the dome of the renovated Reichstag and discover the nightlife of Schoneberg and Kreuzberg. Visit East Side gallery and see a section of the Berlin Wall with beautifully painted murals. Take an afternoon to chill at Badeschiff for poolside relaxation, paddleboarding, street food and beers.

2 NIGHTS PRAGUE

Known for its architecture and history, Prague will feel like a fairytale as you take a walking tour in Czech Republic. See the spectacular views from Prague Castle and get inspired by the unusual curvy design of the Dancing House. During sunset, cruise on the Vltava and take in the beauty of the Prague night. Prague is also known for its world-famous beers — don’t forget to try all the Czech Pilsner beers in the old town pub.

3 NIGHTS BUDAPEST

After a jam- packed week of travelling, get a chance to soak your muscles in Szechenyi Baths– one of the best and largest spa baths in Europe. In Budapest, the Hungarian capital and bohemian city, you will be amazed by the plethora of artists, quirky markets, and architecture. Experience the nightlife by going on a unique ruin pub crawl. Wander the streets of the Jewish quarter and see murals on every corner, bike the banks of the beautiful Danube, visit the notable Hungarian Parliament and hire a buggy to get away to the tranquil Margaret Island.

1 NIGHT VIENNA

Soak up the culture of Vienna with an afternoon of paddleboarding by the Danube. A city renowned for its music, you can immerse yourself at a classical concert. Continue to observe the rich history and culture by walking around the beautiful gardens of Schonbrunn Palace. Spend the afternoon exploring the Naschmarkt, a luxurious, famous and vast market with food and history from all over the world. Don’t forget to eat real Apple Strudel and Weiner Schnitzel! Relax with afternoon tea in one of Vienna’s civilised cafes and spend the night at some of Europe’s best bars and nightclubs.

3 NIGHTS VENICE

Take an iconic Gondola Ride through the intricate network of canals in the city of Canals. Visit the vibrant islands of Murano and Burano, known for their brightly colored fisherman’s houses and glass blowing. Ride a Vaporetto down the grand canal taking in the medieval city while enjoying real Italian gelato. Stroll through the St. Marks Square– the main square in Venice and observe the incredible architecture and history.

2 NIGHTS ROME

In Rome you’ll be transported into the Ancient World by visiting the most impressive buildings of the Roman Empire, the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Get the chance to visit the world’s smallest country– Vatican City. Spend the rest of your time wandering around the incredible sights that the city has to offer which includes St. Peter’s Basilica and of course delicious Italian coffee, ice-cream and pizza.

2 NIGHTS FLORENCE

Florence is home to many iconic sights, architecture and masterpieces of Renaissance art. Experience all of this by heading to Pisa to marvel at the Leaning Tower and exploring the famous Duomo. Take in the world class art by visiting the Uffizi and Accademia Galleries and see Michelangelo’s statue. Explore the many churches while strolling through the city making sure to continue to enjoy the Italian food and the many icecream flavors.

3 NIGHTS NICE

This city is full of beauty which you will see by taking a day trip by boat in the clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Get the chance to scuba dive and swim and after speed through the gorgeous coastline filled with many beautiful homes. When we get back we will head to the old town for an exciting pub crawl. Take a day trip to Manoco, one the of wealthiest places on in the world. Bask in the sunshine and then witness a beautiful sunset from the Promenade des Anglais.

3 NIGHTS BARCELONA

Chill out the first day in Barcelona on the beach then explore the city’s nightlife. The next day will be full of Barcelona’s gorgeous architecture by visiting Sagrada Familia as well as art with a visit to Gaudi’s inspiring masterpiece Park Guell. End day with a pub crawl around Las Ramblas. Continue to witness incredible artwork in the Gothic Quarter at the Picasso Museum. You’ll have time to explore even more of Barcelona so make sure to enjoy delicious local tapas.

3 NIGHTS PARIS

Finish your trip in the City of Lights with many world famous sights. Start in Montmartre and get a beautiful view at Sacre Coeur followed by drinks near the Moulin Rouge and watch a cabaret act. Next, visit the iconic Louvre museum and see incredible art including the Mona Lisa and then experience the hip nightlife of Marais. Watch the sunset of your trip at the Montparnasse Tower and see the Eiffel Tower sparkle. A perfectly magical ending to the Ultimate European Adventure!

You’ll be travelling with a group of 18-30-somethings from all over the world, and a tour guide available whilst on tour. Group sizes do vary. You can expect a group of between 10 and 20 people. You will have the opportunity to meet many more travellers on the journey through various social activities and nights out. 

Most customers are first time travellers, but we also welcome people who have travelled extensively before. We have a higher number of females than males join us on our Europe group tour and and we have more single travellers join us than couples or groups.

If your ideal experience is to travel and make memories, whilst enjoying the social aspects of travelling in a group than this tour is for you!

We use handpicked and well regarded hostel accommodation on this Europe Group Adventure. All properties are centrally located and within easy reach of public transport.  We select properties based on their facilities and sociable aspects. All accommodation is shared- dorm style accommodation.

The Great Adventure

I had an amazing experience on the 14 day tour. After Covid lockdowns, my daughter and I were eager to travel overseas and see places we haven’t been to. Everything on the tour was so well organised and the tour guides Enmanuelle, Phillipe and Oksana were very informative and knowledgeable. They all did an exceptional job. All the hotels we stayed at were very clean, spacious and had a big variety for breakfast. The only suggestion would be to have the option for travellers to return to hotels earlier. Days started early and involved lots of walking and the free time should be an option to return to hotel. A note to travellers would be to be cautious In Amsterdam of dodgy uber drivers asking you to cancel trips and to pay in cash. Also in shops if you don’t see the price for an item don’t tap your card for purchases because you will be in for a big shock when you check your account balance.

Best of Central Europe

This tour had everything I was looking for! Great Eastern European food, great local beer, and a variety of things to do for any type of interest. The hikes were fantastic, and the transportation between stops was well organized. This tour offers a good balance of free time and time with the group, which allows you to come together at the end of the day over dinner to discuss your day.

Overall the trip was excellent. The guides fantastic and knowledgable. Accommodation ok.

Rome to Berlin: Piazzas, Prague & the Past

Great diversity of countries and cities but WAY too fast paced. One night in Slovenia and Poland was ridiculous and with travel time some days we spent less than 15 hours in the city. The guide was a but inexperienced so we didn't have a good description of some of the cities. Great way to make friends and see cities! Would recommend going end of August or later as it was still very hot going through the cities!!

An amazing trip. Sarah Rose was the best tour guide we have ever had. Her knowledge of the history of the UK and Ireland was outstanding. We were looked after from the time we met before starting the trip until after we left then bus at the end. The extra activities were a highlight of the trip and Sarah was the bubbly personality that brought the 40 holiday makers together. A special mention to our bus driver Tomek who was on hand all hours to make sure we were at our destinations on time. Always friendly and willing to help if needed. Europe travel faqs, do i need a covid-19 vaccine to join an intrepid trip.

Trips from 1 January 2023 onwards

From 1 January 2023, Intrepid will no longer require travelers to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (excluding all Polar trips and select adventure cruises).

However, we continue to strongly recommend that all Intrepid travelers and leaders get vaccinated to protect themselves and others.

Specific proof of testing or vaccination may still be required by your destination or airline. Please ensure you check travel and entry requirements carefully.

Do you need a visa to travel to Europe?

Whether or not you need a visa to travel to European countries largely depends on the nationality on your passport and whether the country you're traveling to is part of the Schengen Agreement.

This agreement sees 26 European countries offer visa-free travel to nationals from 60 other countries including Australia, the United States, Canada, Japan, and the United Kingdom. 

To determine whether the country you're traveling to requires a visa, head to the   Schengen Visa's information website.  

What is the internet access like in Europe?

You can easily access the internet in most countries in Europe, generally in capital cities and other major towns. Internet access may be limited in regional locations such as national parks or remote villages in some countries. 

Can I use my cell phone in Europe?

You shouldn't have a problem using your cell phone while traveling throughout Europe, however, your international data roaming will need to be activated in order to connect to the internet or send messages (unless you connect to the local wi-fi). 

What are the toilets like in Europe?

Modern, flushable toilets are the standard in the majority of European countries. 

Can I drink the water in Europe?

Tap water in most European countries is considered safe to drink unless it is otherwise marked. 

When should I book a tour in Europe?

There is no 'best time' to travel around Europe as most countries offer plenty to do in every season of the year.

T he most popular time to travel to countries like Greece, Italy, and Croatia is during the summer months (June, July, and August) so you can make the most of each country's respective beaches and warm weather.

C ountries such as Iceland, Norway, and Sweden are known for their snowy landscapes and northern lights sightings during Winter (December, January, and February).

How much does a Europe tour cost?

A tour in Europe can vary depending on the countries you want to visit, the style of tour, and how long you want to go for but you can expect to pay anywhere between USD$1,000 to USD$5,000, with most tours around USD$2,500. 

Is tipping common in Europe?

Tipping isn't as prevalent in Europe as it is in some other countries and definitely isn't expected, but if you like the quality of service you've been given at hotels, restaurants etc then a tip is always appreciated. 

Are credit cards widely accepted in Europe?

While credit cards are accepted in all European countries (especially in capital cities and other larger cities), smaller cafes or local run businesses may not have EFTPOS machines so it's always best to carry around a little cash to cover these expenses. 

What is ATM access like in Europe?

You should have no problem finding ATMs in most European cities. 

What currency will I need on a Europe tour?

The official currency of Europe is the Euro (€), however, only 19 of the 28 countries in the European Union use this. Countries that still use their own currency include Norway, Switzerland, Belarus, Croatia, Denmark, and Sweden. 

Is Europe safe for LGBTQIA+ travelers?

Europe is considered a reasonably safe continent for LGBTQIA+ travelers with plenty of countries openly accepting, welcoming, and embracing the community.

This is evident in large capital cities such as Paris, Berlin, Madrid, and Vienna.

Some countries still hold traditional religious beliefs such as Belarus and Poland so a degree of caution should be taken when travelling around cities and remote regions in those countries.

Will I need a socket adapter for Europe?

If you plan on traveling to multiple countries throughout Europe then purchasing an all-in-one, worldwide adapter is the safest way to go.

I f you don't want to do that, your safest bet is to buy an adapter that uses C or E/F-type plugs as most European countries recognize this. 

Do I need to purchase travel insurance before traveling?

Absolutely. All passengers traveling with Intrepid are required to purchase travel insurance before the start of their trip. Your travel insurance details will be recorded by your leader on the first day of the trip. Due to the varying nature, availability and cost of health care around the world, travel insurance is very much an essential and necessary part of every journey.

1. Go Sailing in Greece

The ancient and historical civilization of Greece is home to some of the world’s most beautiful islands. These islands, also known as the Cyclades, are a group of islands in the Aegean Sea which form a circle the sacred island of Delos and are now one of the most popular tourist destinations for holidaymakers searching for perfect weather, clear-blue waters, white-sand beaches, amazing food, and historic architecture. Unfortunately, the cost of rail travel has increased substantially, making the cost of individual tickets an unfeasible option for the budget traveler. Luckily, however, there is still a way for rail travel to be viable for all – Eurail and Interrail.

3. Surf in the south of France

5. Truffle Hunting in Istria, Croatia

One of the most culturally diverse regions in Europe, the I stria peninsula of southern Croatia has been ruled and inhabited over the centuries by ancient Venetians, Italians, Austrians, and Germans, all of which contribute to the distinctly rich flavors, textures, and personalities found in this small corner of Mediterranean Europe.

7. See Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain

8. Ski in the French Alps

If you’re looking for a true example of a European winter activity, this is it. There is nothing more European than gliding through snowy slopes on a set of skis, stopping for a cappuccino and a cognac in the winter sun, before doing it all over again! The French Alps are the top destination in Europe, albeit, sometimes the most expensive as well. With more than 2000km of high-quality pistes for all levels and abilities, you can choose between the more party focused resorts, such as Val d’Isere and Tignes, or the more expensive and more upmarket resorts of Chamonix. There’s no need to buy your expensive gear as it can all be rented quite affordable and there are always ski schools to get you started if it’s your first time.

9. Drink real beer at Oktoberfest, Munich, Germany

Officially the world’s largest funfair, Oktoberfest is a 16-day folk festival held annually in Munich, Bavarian Germany, with more than 6 million international attendees annually. Nowadays, Oktoberfest is best known for the huge quantities of beer consumed throughout the event (and before…and after!), but there are loads of other attractions and things to keep you entertained in between beverages – amusement rides; traditional side stalls, and games, plus loads of traditional food. So if you’re more into your food than your beer, then you can still have an awesome time eating your way through German delicacies like Hendl (roast chicken), Schweinebraten (roast pork), Schweinshaxe (grilled ham hock), Steckerlfisch (grilled fish on a stick), Würstl (sausages) along with Brezen (pretzel), Knödel (potato or bread dumplings), Käsespätzle (cheese noodles), Reiberdatschi (potato pancakes), Sauerkraut or Rotkohl/Blaukraut (red cabbage) along with such Bavarian delicacies as Obatzda (a spiced cheese-butter spread) and Weisswurst (a white sausage). German food is known for being quite heavy, so bring elasticated trousers!

10. See Norway’s biggest fjord

Everyone who has ever heard anything about Norway knows that the country is synonymous with great fjords, narrow inlets in the coast where saltwater flows inland surrounded by great walls of rock and cliffs. The greatest fjord of them all, the Sognefjord, is 204 km long and 1038 km deep, giving it the title, ‘King of Fjords!’ Of course, there are many other fjords too, like Geirangerfjord with its magnificent waterfalls and cliffs. When you’re all fjord’s out, check out the country’s other attractions like North Cape, Old Bryggen Wharf in Bergen, and the Snow Hotel in Kirkenes. Norway is a very expensive country, but as always, there are plenty of free things to do if you know where to find them, like the changing of the royal guard, the parks of Oslo, great beaches, and even free ice skating in winter!

1. The most wanted thing to do for me in Europe is to see the northern lights in Norway. The sky amazes me, how vast and mysterious it is and just watching the lights dance in the sky would be pure bliss.

2. Why will I pick Europe for my next dream destination? The list of the countries to see in Europe just goes on and on. Nature, cuisine, culture, people are just one of the reasons to visit Europe. I have always wanted to see this beauty, and I already have picked it. I have applied for a residence permit in Norway as an Au Pair, it will be my starting point to do what you do, and see what you see in every place you step on.

You both inspire so much that anyone can do it, go out and go to places you have never been. So I will go out and see the world!

I would love to ski on the French Alps. One, because my boyfriend promised to teach me how to (in exchange for my surfing lessons. Hehe!). Two, a year of studying French in college made me crave to experience the culture of France. It’s been years since I last used the romantic language, and i think my français have become a little rusty. So, i think it may be a good time to practice it there..

European countries has been deemed to have a very romantic atmosphere, probably due to the art, culture, and nature that they have. I have always wanted to experience that. There are so many things to do! It’s a dream destination for adventurers, nature lovers, art afficionados, food lovers, honeymooners, soul searchers, etc. There’s always something for everyone!

Europe.. hmmmnn where all the castles ignites the princes and princesses in us, where the once upon a time and happily endings are..or should I say there’s such a thing called forever..ehe.. in Europe…It’s what actually goes into my mind when speaking of such beautiful place.

Its where half of my bucket list are, which I started writing eversince I became a member of two monkeys travel. And the first thing on my list is to see the northern lights of Norway, because it’s like near to Gods place, where the real magic is.

I love trekking, mountain climbing and just sitting on top of the mountain or rocks watching the sunsets and sunrises. Just being in the nature. So yes I’ll be so happy frolicking Norway when He’s time allows.

Its rare that some blog will give away a voucher for a trip in Europe, and for that, thank you! It ignites the little dream of each traveller to hear this.

Choosing one from the list is hard, as Europe is known for it all but the best one for me would be, travelling by Eurail and Interail. Why? Because places listed above are known for tourists and for sure, they’re gonna be a lot of people that wants to have fun, eat and party. As for me? I would rather go on the train and here’s why. First, to meet people who love to spend quiet time while savoring the magnificent view of Europe and those who only been first time to travelling. Second, the adrenaline it gives you for not being sure where the train will stop next and what time. third is practicality because train is the cheapest way to travel and last, this is how Europe started.

I’ve always dream of seeing myself in a train, a book on my hand and eyes all hungry, these are what Europe will bring me.

Europe has been my ultimate travel dream destination and I want to travel each country by Train. The diverse culture of Europe makes it very interesting. From La tomatina festival in Buñol, Spain to Czech Republic’s Folk dance week or could be Munich, Germany’s Ski Resorts to Norway’s Aurora Borealis. I want to explore each country and immersed myself to the local customs and traditions and one way to make that happen is when I travel by train.

I’m flying to Rome, Italy on August 31,2015 to celebrate my Birthday. Rome has been one of my Dream Place to visit. I wanted to roam around the magnificent Colosseum, eat some gelato, or grab some pizza near Pantheon. This is going to amazing. I can’t wait to see rome and say Belissima Roma.

One of my living principles in life is this – “i don’t wanna vanish in this planet without see the majestic creations of God, without appreciating different ways of life, without emerging myself into array of wondrous places” This would just be actualized if I TRAVEL. Travel makes us grow, socially and spiritually. Travel is an education for it exposes us to different realities.

1. Most wanted things to do in Europe. Scandinavian countries are know for their unlimited places to see. I would pick Norway. why? Because there is no way other than Norway, lol. kidding aside, I think, for a person who hears about Europe, they would automatically mention the places in Central Europe like France, Italy, Spain, Germany. For me, yes, they’re also my dream destinations but it is really a blessing for me if I go to Norway to see Fjord and experience the vivacity of the country. I have heard about Oslo’s beauty but as i person who is eccentric and adventurous, the once in a lifetime opportunity to be in Norway and experience the countryside would be really really awesome.

2. Why me? i think it’s a given that all of us would answer “Travel is my passion”. For me it’s the same, yeah, travel is my passion but fulfilling this journey in Norway would definitely help me know myself more. Being away from my comfort zone is my soul’s craving. Have you ever heard about the Movie “eat pray love”? yep, this is a self- actualization. I would wanna visit this scandinavian country for me to grow as a person. second is, if Norway wants to extend its message to more people that it is a great decision to visit the place, then I can help. I would be posting reviews and experiences from that journey and it to my friends and families. i am a nature lover, i would just take photos and memories with me. And I also have Norwegian friends who i could visit there. who know, I might write a good poem or essay while I am in the Beautiful Norway. Thanks so much 🙂

I also want to visit where Julius Caesar died, I did a role play of Julius Ceasar way back on my secondary school from then I started to search more about him aside from reading stories, I also want to visit where he dies (My ultimate dream and I fell in love with his story for the first time).

2. Why ill you pick Europe as your next dream destination. -Europe is my Ultimate dream, there are a lot of reasons as to why I fell with that continent. Because of my love I started to learn the different language in the Europe country like French, Spanish, German and more. It is just magical from books, pictures and stories. It will be always my dream. I know I could make my dream come true. Nothing is impossible.

I’d la-la-love to go sailing in Greece! I’ve always read Mythological Stories and those seas have been amazing! I love the legit wide, blue water and all the wonder it holds! Surfing in France would also be a great adventure! I’d love to get stoked getting to know the waters of Europe!

Europe has definitely been my dream destination for the longest time! I’ve always been curious about experiencing their culture and visiting the places that has made a mark in their history! It definitely would be life-changing and would be an experience I know I’ll be sharing over and over again!

Explore Rome…. Aside from its a city of Pope, each masterpieces will be more appreciated and fully understand by a Catholic believer like me.. I always dream of this and waiting for it to come true!!

Great list! I’d just say that surfing is more popular, cheaper and just as great in Portugal than France! Peniche and the south coast of Portugal are amazing spots to surf and there are so many cool backpackers just travelling to Lagos to surf 🙂 1, 2, 8, 9 and 10 are on my bucket list! I have some of the best experiences of my life with u30x, and now a passion for travel. Also, their alumni community and groups are awesome too!

Traveling with U30X has been life changing for me. I've made lifelong friends with both travelers and staff. I can't come up with enough good things to say about the company, the people, and the experiences I've had!

Just returned from my second trip with Under30Experiences. My first trip was to the Costa Rica rainforest. My most recent trip was to Iceland. Both trips were such an amazing experience. I loved learning about Iceland and its origins. I enjoy the small groups and I made some great new friends! Recommend them for anyone wanting to travel alone or with a couple of friends.

I was so scared to travel abroad alone and then I came across their website and they made international travel so easy! And the people I’ve met on the trips are some amazing individuals! I’ve done 6 of their trips and plan on continuing to do even more!!

My Hike the Inca Trail trip was beyond amazing, and I couldn't have asked for anything more from a trip. Our leaders made us all feel instantly comfortable, and the group was fantastic. The trip was well planned and the hike was unforgettable. Memories to last a lifetime.
