I don't want to book with Ticketmaster now since I don't know what time will work after customs, checking into the hotel, getting a Oyster pass, etc. I see that the day of tickets can be purchased from the Ticket Office, next to the Jewel Tower by Abingdon Green.

Anyone get any advice on this? I would have tried for an earlier inbound flight if I knew 11 months ago that I would need to tour Parliament the day I arrived.

You'll be there a week and there's only 1 opportunity to tour Parliament?

I think you should be able to make the 4:30 tour after an 11:00 arrival, but others may know better.

I enjoyed my tour when I was there. It was a highlight......

I took the last tour on a Friday with a small group and loved it. Yes, by the end the staff were closing up shop but we were able to find out the all important question of what was contained in the House of Lords cupboard/closet!

I'd figure on not getting out of Heathrow until noon, than an hour to London then checking in to hotel. I'd say anywhere from 4-4:30 would give you a chance to get to Parliament Square in time. Enjoy-it was my favorite part of my London trip. You'll be amazed at how tiny iQueen Victoria's throne is and how small the House of Commons feels. Best part was standing in the back benches(but don't sit on the green cushions!

Apart from in summer, when it's daily, the tours are only on Saturdays, so Saturday 7th May is the poster's only option.

You can however queue up to go into the public gallery of the House of Commons when it is in session, and usually that's open until late in the evening. The door staff can accurately predict how long you'd need to stand in line, and if it's too long then don't bother. It's not the same as a tour, but at least you'll get inside, and it's free.

Have you actually tried to book those tickets yet? I've been looking for tours in May and none of my dates are available. I looked at Ticketmaster for May 7th and got the following:

"Tickets are currently not available online for one of the following reasons. Please check back for availability.

Tickets may not be on sale yet

Tickets may not be available at this time. More tickets may become available later

Tickets may not be available online just hours before an event occurs

On rare occasions, tickets may only be available at Ticket Centres or the box office"

I'm a little confused as the Houses of Parliament site actually talks about overseas visitors being able to book online. If anyone figures this out, please let me know.

I always pick up tickets at the venue itself.

Thanks for opening this post I didn't know it was possible and have now booked for 09.15 july 10! :)

(go to ticketmaster, click on the date and then you can select a time)

Happy to report the bug on the Ticketmaster website appears to have been fixed (not sure how you did it a few days back, OrangeTigger73). International delivery options are now available, so all is well.

I dont think I did anything special it just worked fine for me :)
