ASTINDO is the Indonesian Travel Agents Association, established on November 10, 1999, by twenty five Travel Agent leaders which also supported by the Minister of Culture and Tourism.

The establishment of ASTINDO was encouraged by the problems of ticketing business with Airlines, due to Indonesia currency devaluation in 1998, where Travel Agent needs to be accommodated under the Directorate General of Air Transportation.

Therefore the establishment of ASTINDO was declared in 1999 and inaugurated through the Minister of Transportation of The Republic Indonesia’s Decree (SK) No. KP 263 of 2000.

ASTINDO member consists of Travel Agents from all over Indonesia from small to big agents which is currently spread in 20 (twenty) provinces. The number of ASTINDO members is currently close to 900 members, including the Top 20 Travel Agent which controls nearly 70% of Outbound Tour and International Ticket sales of Indonesia.

ASTINDO’s Programs

ASTINDO Travel Fair (B to C) mostly for Outbound, held every early of the year by February March in Jakarta since 2011.

ASTINDO Travel Mart (B to B) for Inbound started 2018, sponsored by Indonesia Tourism Ministry.

ASTINDO Training Center, to provide every kind of training required by member.

LSP ATDA,  it’s a Professional Certification Body to control professionalism of Travel Agent human resources, licensed by Indonesia National Certification Authority.

ASTINDO Hub it’s a Platform to facilitating conventional Travel Agent to become Online Travel Agent (OTA).

We are an independent association namely Indonesia INBOUND Tour Operators Association being a shelter for businessmen or leaders of tours and travel agency whose activities to plan and carry out tourist trips from the country of origin of tourists to the territory of the Republic of Indonesia, in collaboration with Tour Wholesalers and / or Tour Operators abroad.

The Entrepreneurs of the INBOUND Tour Operators agreed to unite their intentions and determination in advancing Indonesian tourism through this association with the main goal is to make tourism as the main foreign exchange earner for Indonesia. The players (companies) who specialize and focus their main business on inbound tourism are commonly referred to as inbound tour operators in Indonesia.

The organizer of the INBOUND Tour Operators, in the form of companies, is an important tourism industry that is a source of foreign exchange income and is part of the national development system, so its development and activities cannot be separated from one another.

We accommodates various roles and or aspirations of like-minded members, who have the same passion and profession as INBOUND Indonesia tour operators, in order to increase professionalism, build member capacity, global competitiveness and be able to serve and or protect members proportionally and professionally.

The most important that we can provide input and consideration to the government for the advancement of Indonesian tourism, especially bringing in foreign tourists through members of the Association which are managed based on the principles of professionalism, transparency, democratic, honest, fair and accountability.

Best trip I have ever had, had the best time in a spectacular country and the best ceo I could ever ask for

Gede was an excellent tour guide, his knowledge of all the local sights was brilliant. Things that could be improved on the tour: The accommodation was always located by really busy roads and despite earplugs the noise was disturbing and you didn't get much sleep. When you have early morning checkouts this can be fatiguing. The ferry to Lombok was not the best experience, to have to sit on the floor for 4-5 hrs was not really acceptable. I think G Adventures should charge a bit more and offer the fast boat. Maybe some of the traditional village tours could be swapped for other activities, but I appreciate people that joined for the Lombok tour hadn't seen the Bali villages. Everything else was well organised and ran smoothly.

I couldn’t recommend this tour highly enough! I had the best time, our tour guide Ali was so amazing, he went above and beyond to make sure we were always comfortable, happy and looked after. He also went out of his way to take the best photos. The trip was seamless, from check ins, transport, restaurants, activities.. it made travelling solo for my first time easy having the whole tour planned out and so well organised. Met amazing people who were strangers at the start but friends in the end. The whole experience was one I wish hadn’t of come to an end.

I is the 8 days Bali Tour and it was truly amazing. I had the best time in Bali and met wonderful people in our group. We‘ve been really close and had so much fun together. We learned a lot about Bali and the people here. My Highlight was our Snorkel Trip an the Trip to Diamont Beach. Zio is a really good and funny Tourguide. We had a lot of fun and everything was very well organized so there was nothing we had to worry about.

I had a great time in Bali with wanderlands and we had the best tour leader Zio. My personal highlight was snorkeling with the mantas in Penida. I can highly recommend to do this tour :)

Tour guide was very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions we had throughout the tour. Felt very safe and guided during our stay in Canggu and Ubud. I do feel that if you are naturally a quieter member of the group, it was sometimes hard to be noticed or your needs met. Encouraged us to partake in activities that he felt as a group we would enjoy, which we all appreciated. However, did feel that the tour guides attitude changed once in Gili T. I understand it is a more relaxed and holiday vibe island.

Overall the trip was good, however a few things I think could be improved was the unethical dolphin spotting boat trip - the boats were chasing the dolphins and almost hit them it made me upset and others on the boat agreed and asked to go back. The surfing was a great experience however the group wasn’t aware if we swallow the sea water or it goes up your nose it can make you very poorly, around 5/6 people were sent to the clinic after the surfing. Next time, a warning of this may be appreciated. The tour guide was very good at handling with the medical emergencies and everyone eventually felt better.

Great experience! Guide was inclusive and supportive.

Great trip. Small group well planned itinerary. Little tiring long hot days. Wish the guides could speak better English and little more articulate. Couldn’t hear as we are senior citizens. Guides need to be more clean and should take care personal hygiene. Stinky breath and body odor was a bit too much.
