With a mobile wallet, you can leave your bulky, disorganized wallet at home and make purchases with your smartphone.  Paying with our phone is FREE, touchless, secure and socially distant.

Unfamiliar with mobile wallet?

Here are the basics...  A mobile wallet is pretty much exactly what it sounds like: a “wallet” that lives on your mobile device instead of in your back pocket or handbag.  Why use it? Because it provides a convenient way to pay for goods and services with your smartphone, smartwatch or another compatible device, like a tablet.  Add your Journey Credit Union VISA Debit Card to pay safely and reduce fraud.  Mobile wallet is generally harder to steal or copy than physical cards and cash.  You can add your debit card to your smartphone app. 

It's compatible with Samsung Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Fit Bit Pay services.

How to set up your digital wallet..

Please follow the instructions below for help in setting up a digital wallet on your type of phone. If you need assistance setting up your digital wallet, call JCU during regular business hours at 515-243-8735.

Open the Wallet app on your device and follow the steps to add your JCU Visa Debit Card to  Apple Pay . (Can also be added from your iTunes account.) Most members will receive a passcode to complete their registration.  You also may receive a mailed letter confirming your card setup.

Using Apple Pay.

• Look for the Pay Wave ® or the Apple Pay symbol at the checkout stand. Hold your phone near the contactless reader.
• Place your finger on the Touch ID TM to authorize your payment.
• Keep your phone by the reader until it vibrates and beeps. This indicates that your payment was accepted.

Google Pay.

If your phone doesn't come with  Google Pay  preloaded, download the app from Google Play. If you already have a card in your Google account, you can add it by confirming a few details, or you can add a new card as simply as snapping a picture. Most members will receive a passcode to complete their registration. Using Google Pay.

• Look for the Pay Wave ® or the Google Pay symbol at the checkout stand. Hold your phone near the contactless reader.
• If prompted, choose "Credit" regardless of your type of card.
• You also might need to enter a PIN depending on what card you are using.

Need to find a branch or ATM closest to you? With Find Near Me, Journey Bank will discover your location and provide you with addresses and phone numbers on the fly. Available features include: Accounts - Check your latest account balance and search recent transactions by date, amount, or check number. Bill Pay - Pay new bills, edit bills scheduled to be paid, and review previously paid bills from your iPhone. Transfers - Easily transfer cash between your accounts. Locations - Find nearby branches and ATMs using the iPhone's built-in GPS. Additionally, you can search by zip code or address.

Doesn’t work anymore.

I got a new phone and the app no longer works which is a pretty big inconvenience seeing as it takes 10 minutes to sign on on the web page.

Great People in Local Banks, Lousy Banking App

First of all, let me say that this is a review of the app, not the bank. I wish that everyone could have access to the in-person help that First Columbia Bank provides. However, I do not recommend downloading their mobile app. 1. My most recent gripe is that the app doesn’t give adequate instructions about depositing a check. I recently deposited a check which was declined in the because I didn’t write enough information on the back of the check for them to accept the mobile deposit. While the app does give instructions about depositing checks, the instructions are abnormal compared with the several other banking apps I use for depositing checks. A visual example of how they want checks signed would help. 2. The app doesn’t allow for additional principal payment toward a loan. 3. The app requires a password change every six months but they don’t integrate with Apple’s password management system. Furthermore, their website version restricts pasting into the “new password” field which makes it difficult to update the bank password in a password management system. The bank also does not accept Apple’s suggested passwords.

Modern feel and great mobile deposit

As a longtime user of first columbia bank app I can say that this app has come a long way. Back in the old days it was pretty buggy and just meh. But now it feels very modern and responsive. The sign in with Face ID works great and the mobile check deposit is super easy. For a small town bank they have really produced a great app.
