I’ll also review some additional Pinemeadow golf clubs to buy individually.

  • Alternatives to the PGX set

So, if you’re still wondering, “Is Pinemeadow a good golf brand?” this article will put your question to rest.

Overview of the Pinemeadow Golf Clubs

What’s included in the set, pinemeadow golf clubs rating, who is it best for handicap range, the verdict, why you should trust us, how we reviewed these products, things to consider when buying pinemeadow golf clubs, design and construction, performance, forgiveness, one length irons, the 460cc driver, pinemeadow pgx wedge review, the callaway strata, are they good for beginners, do any pros use pinemeadow clubs, final thoughts.

Before diving into the club set, knowing a little about the company and who makes Pinemeadow golf clubs is important.

Pinemeadow Golf was established in 1985 by Guy Mount III. It aims to deliver high-quality golf clubs at low prices for golfers worldwide. From beginner-friendly clubs to more professional-level clubs, Pinemeadow has something for every golfer.

The PGX set of clubs by Pinemeadow is one of the cheapest sets available. What puts the Pinemeadow clubs a class apart is that although the prices are low, the company ensures that quality is not compromised. They’re forgiving, deliver great performance, and are perfect for beginners.

However, Pinemeadow isn’t the only company making affordable yet highly functional golf clubs. If the brand name is not what you’re after, check out this article for some of the best off-brand golf clubs available.

Note:  Do not confuse off-brand clubs with knock-off brands.

Pinemeadow PGX Golf Clubs Review

pinemeadow golf pgx

  • Budget-friendly
  • Sleek, stylish designs
  • Customization options available
  • Forgiving clubs
  • The performance and build of golf clubs are better than other comparable clone golf clubs in the market.
  • Performance cannot be compared to high-end golf manufacturers.
  • The build quality of golf clubs is subpar compared to premium golf cubs.
  • 460cc Driver
  • 5 irons + Pitching Wedge

The set does lack a few clubs. No sand wedge or putter is included in the set, so you’ll have to buy these separately. You could try the Pinemeadow putter  or one of the best putters .

There is also no golf bag, so if you’ve got an old one at home already, you’re good to go. Otherwise, you’ll have to purchase a golf bag to carry these clubs.

Here are some of the best golf bags for your money .

Here’s my rating of the PGX clubs.

The Pinemeadow PGX clubs are specifically designed for golfers with a higher handicap range, such as beginner golfers . The clubs are forgiving, so any mistakes you make during your swing or strike will get some help. But you’ll still get decent yardage and height.

Yes, they’re not the most seamless clubs, and I probably wouldn’t rate them too high on the feel scale. But for beginners, they more than do the job. Someone starting golf is likely not looking to spend thousands of dollars on their first set of clubs. So this makes these PGX golf clubs a good budget-friendly option  to start the game.

Golf likes deep pockets, but it’s better to start small, develop your interest and effort, and work on your swing. Opt for premium golf clubs once you understand what to do in your golf swing.

For golfers with a handicap range of 17 or higher  who are looking to upgrade from their old and worn-out set, the PGX clubs are a safe investment. These clubs will make the process much easier for golfers with slower swing speeds.

My PGX golf club review is that these are a solid set of clubs, falling into the low-budget category . For a bargain price, you get 9 great quality clubs  that are durable and have a minimalistic yet stylish look.

The clubs are forgiving, offer good performance, and will help you improve your golf game , making them the perfect set for beginners.

Pinemeadow golf clubs are not designed for the low percentile of good golfers. They are designed for the golfer unwilling to purchase high-end clubs.

Pinemeadow PGX golf clubs will provide comparable features at a very affordable price range. Icing on the cake, these golf clubs perform better than other clone golf clubs on the market, and they are also great-looking golf sets in a golf bag.

With all that being said, something worth keeping in mind is that these are not the most reliable golf sets. They are great for kickstarting your career but are not sustainable over longer periods .

Our team  spends thousands of hours trying out and researching golf equipment to help you take your game to the next level. Here’s our product review process .

We can bring these reviews to you through the small commissions we earn if you buy through the links below.

Golfspan only shares equipment and brands we trust.

I’ve been golfing and reviewing golf equipment for half a decade. I researched and evaluated the Pinemeadow golf clubs. Then, an editor reviewed and fact-checked the list.

The information you get in this article is up-to-date because we conduct regular content audits to update and revise our reviews to ensure you receive the latest information.

Consider these points before buying the Pinemeadow golf clubs:

  • Your Skill Level: If you’re a good, experienced golfer, I recommend you not opt for these golf clubs. If you’re someone who has recently taken up the sport, take a look at Pinemeadow PGX golf clubs.
  • Your Budget: It’s no joke that better equipment in golf will produce better results, but you need to spend more for better equipment. If you’re looking for a balance of quality and budget, Pinemeadow can be worth consideration.
  • Your Requirement: If you plan on being a casual golfer, then go ahead and buy a good-looking golf set that can keep you afloat on the golf course. If you plan on improving your game and progress in the sport, go for more reliable and premium golf clubs.

PGX Golf Club Review

pinemeadow golf clubs review pgx set

I did some digging and discovered that the company offers different golf sets and produces all clubs ranging from drivers to putters.

Other than that, when you go to their website, you can fill out a survey about your game  and your body dimensions, which helps them decide the right set of golf clubs for you.

Now, let’s dive into my complete research on the Pinemeadow golf clubs.

The PGX set is  highly affordable , so you can’t expect it to look fancy like the high-end models.

The overall design of these clubs is decent, and they’re made of stainless steel. As a beginner, you have nothing to worry about. They don’t look ugly, but neither do they look fancy.

Performance-wise, these clubs are ideal for beginners. They’re made with forgiveness and decent distance in mind, and they deliver exactly that.

I particularly appreciated the range of irons and their cavity back design, making these clubs much more forgiving and performing better with each shot .

At the same time, the wood and hybrid have a low profile design, making them launch the ball higher and further.

So you’ve got forgiveness, precision, extra distance, and height, all within this set – perfect for building your confidence levels if you’re just starting the game.

When it comes to durability, I must commend Pinemeadow PGX. Compared to their clubs from half a decade ago, which would scuff easily, the more recent clubs are much more durable and long-lasting.

You still cannot compare them to the durability of higher-end clubs from Callaway or Titleist. But that’s because those clubs use top-quality materials and are much more expensive.

Although, given the price point, I don’t think you could find a set of clubs with better durability at this price . These clubs are built to last, so if you’re looking to buy a reliable new set of clubs or simply replace your older ones, these are a safe bet.

Finding a better deal than this set would be close to impossible. Even the mid-tier irons start from $500, while this is a set of 9 PGX clubs for less than half that price.

One of the most common reasons why new golfers prefer this set is because of the price tag. It won’t hurt your bank, and you’ll also be ready to golf.

Read More: Best Clone Golf Club

Every golfer wants more distance. While working on your swing can make a significant difference, your golf club plays just as important a role (if not more).

The Pinemeadow golf clubs are designed to give you good yardage while being forgiving.  Just so you know, you’ll find tons of clubs with better yardage than these PGX ones, but even with these, you won’t complain as a beginner.

I was hitting a driver at a 160-yard par-3 when I started golf. Now I play an 8 or 9 iron at the same distance. The point is beginners don’t need to focus on maximizing their distance. They need to get the basics right and stay on the fairway.

While these PGX clubs can fall short in providing the extra yardage, they don’t fall short regarding forgiveness.

Pinemeadow knows that beginner golfers make multiple mistakes, and since these clubs are designed specifically for them, they do a great job at forgiveness .

If you’re new to golf, you’re better off with more forgiving clubs than clubs that increase distance. Golf is rarely about how much distance you cover and more about staying on the fairway as a beginner.

Club Specifics of the PGX Golf Set

Let’s have a look at each club of this set.

pinemeadow golf clubs review

The PineMeadow set contains 5 one length irons and a pitching wedge. The one-length irons give golfers a much more standardized and simplified introduction to the irons.

The same length irons are about the length of a 7 iron. If you’re a little taller or prefer to play with irons of different lengths, this may require some attention. But if you’re just starting off, these are a great option.

I’d even compare them to the one-length irons offered by Cobra that are just as good, except they come with a much heftier price tag.

pinemeadow golf club review

Realistically, beginner golfers aren’t hitting bomb drives. Their focus should be staying in the fairway and covering a decent distance for their approach shot.  The PGX driver does a great job in that.

Beginners usually struggle with ugly slices off the tee, but the offset anti-slice technology  of the PGX driver allows you to minimize the slice.

Design-wise, the driver looks acceptable for the course. Again, it’s not pretty like TSi drivers , but it’s good enough for beginners. The entire kit costs less than half the price of a TSi driver, so I can’t complain.

I’d like to go out on a limb and say that the performance of this driver reminds me of Callaways famous Big Bertha.

The slight drawback that I found in the driver was that it made a louder sound than most other drivers, but that’s something I’m willing to overlook for the price I’m paying for it.

pinemeadow golf club review pgx

One great thing that the PGX set offers is a hybrid club. Hybrids are great for beginners to get used to the feeling of a long iron without experiencing the dreadfulness of them.

The PGX hybrid is a nice introductory club with a low-profile design that makes it more forgiving.

Pinemeadow Golf PGX Wedge, Right Hand, Steel, Regular, 56-Degree

If you buy the Pinemeadow PGX set, you’ll probably need an extra wedge. Fortunately, Pinemeadow has one of the cheapest wedges on the market.

I think these wedges are ideal for beginners since they’re easy to hit and don’t create a big mess on the course, either.

They should give good control yet a decent amount of spin.

Regarding the feel of the wedges, they’re not going to feel like the Vokey SM9 , but they’re decent, and that’s what a beginner golfer should look for.

Alternative to the Pinemeadow PGX Golf Clubs

Although the PGX clubs are a solid buy and an absolute steal at their price point, they do have a few minor drawbacks.

If you’re looking for a complete set of golf clubs that are high quality and beginner-friendly, here is our alternative:

Callaway Golf Men's Strata Complete 12 Piece Package Set (Right Hand, Steel), Blue

The Callaway Strata golf set consists of every essential club you can need, from the 6-9 irons to the sand wedge, the driver, the hybrid, and the putter.

The Strata is one of the most popular golf club sets for beginners.

  • Reasonably priced
  • Beginner friendly
  • Complete set of clubs, including a putter
  • Hybrid is beginner-friendly
  • A lot of forgiveness
  • Club heads may feel heavy
  • Not for experienced golfers

Rating: 4.6/5

You can read our complete review of Callaway Strata here .

The Pinemeadow PGX golf clubs are designed specifically for beginners and golfers with a high handicap. This is because these clubs are designed to give maximum forgiveness and high performance with each swing, so the frequent mistakes made by beginners can easily be compensated for.

Pinemeadow clubs are designed to keep beginners or golfers with a budget in mind. Professional-level golfers usually require higher-end clubs designed specifically keeping the more minute details in mind. This is why these clubs aren’t as common among pro golfers. But if you’re just starting off your golfing journey, Pinemeadow clubs are the best deal you’ll get in the market.

That’s the end of my Pinemeadows golf clubs review. If you’re still wondering, ‘are Pinemeadow golf clubs good?’ Yes, they are. But I’d recommend them only for beginners .

Is Pinemeadow a good golf brand? It’s a decent brand with a focus on manufacturing affordable golf sets for beginners.

The Pinemeadow PGX golf club set is a great option for beginners, especially if you’re on a budget. For a bargain price, you get 9 durable golf clubs that will help you work on your posture, swing, and confidence level as you make your way up the golfing ladder.

While these are great for beginners, if you’re a mid or low-handicapper, I’d recommend opting for more advanced-level golf clubs  that will help you work more on the minute details of your game instead.

PGX offset driver review

PGX Offset Golf Driver Review: is it any Good?

Table of Content

Who Should Use this Golf Club?

Viable alternatives, our verdict.

Whilst The PGX Offset Driver (with anti-slice technology) from Pinemeadow has been on the market for a number of years now it still generates great interest from golfers who are keen to find out more about this budget level golf driver.

CHECK CURRENT PRICE

If you read the reviews from golf players who have actually purchased the club you will quickly realize that there is a lot going for the PGX and golfers are reaching out to us wanting to know more and just how well this golf driver performs on the fairway.

Is the club best suited to golf beginners? or is there more appeal to the serious golfer from the Pinemeadow brand?

Pinemeadow PGX Offset Driver (Men's, Right Hand, Graphite, Regular)

We are of the opinion that the PGX driver is more than just a cheap driver. There we have said it.

You could be forgiven if your first thought when you saw the cheap price tag is that there is no way I’m going to use this club.

But there is definitely something about this club that appeals not just to golfing newbies but also golfers who play to a decent handicap and wanting a viable alternative to add to their golf bag.

One of the reasons why the price is so low is because Pinemeadow is an independent golf manufacturer that specializes in quality golf clubs that are both affordable and built to high standards.

Since the introduction of the PGX Offset Driver to the golfing market, this particular club has gone from strength to strength and is one of the best selling budget drivers out there so we thought we conduct our own dedicated review of the club and see if it lives up to the hype.

If you are new to golf then this club is absolutely ideal for you.

Why not start your new golfing experience with a club that you trust and enjoy without breaking the bank?

It makes perfect sense to try out the Pinemeadow PGX Offset Driver down your local driving range and we think you will like some really cool features like the big 460cc clubhead, anti-slice technology and great design.

Pinemeadow PGX Offset Driver (Men's, Right Hand, Graphite, Regular)

On top of this, there is a big sweet spot and low CG (center of gravity) on the clubhead that will instantly appeal to slicers and hookers of the golf ball.

The offset design of the club is designed to help you hit the ball straighter.

Features & Performance

pinemeadow tour 700 ti driver

But the real reason is the features and performance off the tee that set this driver apart from its rivals .

You can literally go through the whole spec of this club and find it difficult to criticize any of the materials used. Let’s go through the clubhead, shaft and grip of the PGX Driver in more detail…

Let’s make one point clear. This clubhead is not made from expensive titanium that you see on premier drivers from brands like TaylorMade, Ping and Callaway – does it matter?

Well, that depends if you prefer to swing with a heavy-headed club and are prepared to sacrifice around 15 yards of total driving yards off the tee for a trade-off of around a $450 saving on your golfing budget.

Sounds good right?

Pinemeadow PGX Offset Driver (Men's, Right Hand, Graphite, Regular)

The PGX Offset Driver has an alloy clubhead which is a common material used in cheaper golf clubs.

Alloy is heavier than titanium and although the PGX Offset Driver is not too heavy you can definitely notice when you swing the club that it is very top-heavy and biased towards the clubhead.

If your budget can stretch a little further and you prefer a lighter driver then check out our TaylorMade RBZ Black Driver review.

It is around $50 more but is more lightweight and forgiving than the PGX .

That being said, for most golfers swinging a 200g driver is not an issue and when you connect the clubhead on to the golf ball, the energy release and weight transference are noticeable.

We were very impressed with the low center of gravity this club outputs – a big thumbs up to the engineers and design team at Pinemeadow!

Also, the clubhead is offset – this means the golf face is set back further which is suppose to help you hit the ball straighter and correct slicing of the ball.

If you have a persistent problem with not hitting the ball straight when teeing off then you should seriously consider using this club down at the driving range.

The loft angle of the PGX Driver is 10.5 degrees, standard for a driver.

Clubhead performance: Overall, the clubhead rates highly and fits very well into the shaft of the club. Despite being a little top-heavy, the head connects with the golf ball well and there is a good sound to the club on impact with the ball.

The offset shape helps to hit the ball straighter and the design of the clubhead is very modern.

It looks like a $300 driver, not a budget model. Finally, there is a stylish cover to help protect the club from damage.

To counterbalance the heavy clubhead, Pinemeadow has introduced a graphite shaft on there #1 selling budget driver.

Graphite shafts are lightweight and perfectly suited to golfers who need a bigger tolerance on their golf swing and allow for more forgiveness when driving the ball.

Included on their PGX driver is the Superfly White Graphite shaft that weighs just 78g.

Pinemeadow PGX Offset Driver (Men's, Right Hand, Graphite, Regular)

If you are interested in the flex rating of the shaft, then as standard the club is shipped with a normal flex.

This is sensible because the club is designed to benefit the average Joe golfer or a beginner who doesn’t know or care about flex ratings.

With a mid-high launch angle, a shaft is a good option for seniors or ladies too as the flex certainly helps for golfers with a slower swing.

Slower swing players should also take a serious look at the golf balls they are using. Our top-rated balls for senior players detail our best balls for swing speeds under 75MPH.

Shaft performance: The Superfly White Graphite shaft is by no means the worst on the market. It’s much better than a steel equivalent and the normal flex rating helps to drive the shaft quicker through the air.

It fits seamlessly into the clubhead and has a nice look about it.

All in all, a decent component when you consider the whole club costs less than $75 .

Not really much to say about the grip.

It’s cheap and cheerful but does the job perfectly well.

Some online comments mention that the rubber is very thin so be aware that you could be replacing the grip sooner than later on this club.

Normally, a grip would last around 30-50 rounds of 18 hole golf but on this club, you should estimate a grip replacement time of around 6 months or 30 rounds.

Grip performance: A standard Pinemeadow rubber grip with a core size of 0.58 and weighs just 54g. If you have bigger hands you might want to get a thicker grip but it’s nit-picking really.

pinemeadow tour 700 ti driver

Compare these ratings with your current club but remember this is a budget golf driver that out-peforms most in its class.

  • Official Name: Pinemeadow PGX Offset Golf Driver with anti-slice technology.
  • LH/RH: Available in both left hand / right hand (weirdly, left hand costs slightly more).
  • Clubhead: 460CC alloy offset clubhead with 10.5 loft angle and 4.8° torque.
  • Clubhead Cover: Yes, standard cover in black/green.
  • Club Length: 45 inches.
  • Shaft: Superfly White Graphite shaft, 78g weight.
  • Shaft Flex: regular only.
  • Grip: Black rubber 0.58 rated grip.

The positives far outweigh the negatives on the PGX .

Firstly, the very low price point makes this golf driver very affordable to both golfers on a budget and newcomers to this wonderful (but addictive) sport.

It’s truly hard to believe that you get so much for your money – a good quality 460CC head in matt black finish, a good quality shaft made from graphite, and a decent grip to complete the look.

Pinemeadow PGX Offset Driver (Men's, Right Hand, Graphite, Regular)

Golfers who have a recurring slice problem should look to the PGX offset golf driver as a possible solution.

The anti-slice tech pushes the clubface a little further back so you are “later on the drive”.

Finally, with the normal flex rating on the graphite shaft, this club would be beneficial to older players and those who have a swing of below 85MPH.

The club is forgiving and low CG helps to project the ball, flatter and further through the air.

Also, if you have suffered from minor hand, wrist or shoulder injuries then the forgiving shaft might be more be beneficial to you.

Question: Is this club just a cheap knockoff? Answer: Pinemeadow is a legit brand with a very good reputation for making good quality golf clubs at low prices. Seriously, check out the online reviews from REAL buyers of this golf club.

Question: Is this club legal? Answer: Yes, all the technical specifications of the PGX driver pass PGA standards and you can use this club on your local golf course. If you are unsure then you can check with support staff @ Pinemeadow.

Question: Can I use this club on the grass? Answer: No, not really. The PGX Offset Golf Driver is designed to be used off the tee and not the turf. If you’re looking for a long iron replacement then hybrids are a good alternative.

Question: Is this club right for my height? Answer: As long as your not under 5 foot tall and over 6″6″ then this club which measures 45 inches should be the right length for you. As always, when your next at your local golf shop, ask the resident pro to give you a club size fitting. They are 100% worth it and you would be surprised at how much difference this makes in improving your golf swing.

Question: How far I can drive off the tee with this club? Answer: Some players claim that a 240-yard drive is possible.

This is a budget club so expect to knock off at least 15 yards from your total distance comparable to a premium golf driver costing around $400-$500.

It has solid features and a good reputation for being reliable in all types of weather conditions.

Question: I keep slicing my drives, does the PGX Offset Driver help to correct this? Answer: The anti-slice technology implemented into the club is designed to help keep the clubhead “square” on impact thus helping drives to become straighter and less prone to fly off at an angle.

pinemeadow tour 700 ti driver

We have already mentioned the RBZ Black Driver as a good driver.

But if the price is your over-riding criteria then a very good, cheap golf driver with good reviews is the Bullet Golf B52 Bomber 500cc driver.

It has a good, graphite shaft with uniflex rating and looks great in red/silver finish.

As you can probably tell on this PGX Offset Driver review we have nothing but praise for this golf club as long as place the product in its right category which is a high-performance budget golf driver .

It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles you would come to expect from the best drivers in the US right now.

For example, there is no adjustable loft setting or customizable weights for custom head setup but for newcomers and people who just want a simple driver that gets them up and down the fairway at good speed and distance then this club is a good choice.

It costs less than 10 premium drivers and you get real value for both your golf shots and in your wallet.

Another thing we want to mention is the super customer service from Pinemeadow.

They are very good at dealing with questions and are very responsive to customer ideas, order questions and feedback on their products.

Pinemeadow PGX Offset Driver (Men's, Right Hand, Graphite, Regular)

They have a full range of golf clubs available, from drivers to putters and everything in between, so be sure to visit Windtree golf soon and checkout another comprehensive review from our team.

Tim Langelier reviewed this product on 02/16/03 I recently purchased the Power Play System 3000 Ti 400cc and used it yesterday for the 1st time. I struggled at first but as I got use to it... WOW..and I mean WOW !! I hit (with witnesses) the following 5 tee shots; 360, 305, 315, 356, and 358.. The final hole was a 521 yrd Par 5 which I hit the driver and then an 8 iron from 163 pin high.. Unfortunately, I missed the eagle putt.... Highly recommended !!! Tim
roger jones reviewed this product on 01/08/03 tried the real thing.this is better.my nickname now is BING.(straight down the middle)
Hal Baker reviewed this product on 11/24/02 Just returned from a week in Myrtle Beach. The other 11 guys all had name brand drivers; C4, Nike, Taylor Made, etc. Though I am still a novice golfer(90-100), I drove as far as any of them. Less slices than last year. More straight and in the fairway. Tried other peoples drivers on occaision, and none hit farther for me. Other than the names, I found no advantage. If you can't hit it farther, straighter, or more accurately with another driver, I can't see why one would pay more for a nam
ROBERT NOLAN reviewed this product on 10/04/02 WOW,after purchasing over six different drivers, from hippos 400cc to cobras steel,i finally found a driver that consitantly hits the ball farther sweeter and delivers accuracy, I chose the 8.5 degree (as I get alot of loft I couldnt control)I can even put draw on this by a slight toe in at addressing.I am very happy,so happy I purchased a 3-wood system 3000, Im around a 43 to 47 per nine, last year a 49 to 52,IM 55yrs young and can handle the 400cc.well thats all,p.s. yesterday I shot a 39 and 3
Todd reviewed this product on 09/08/02 Got this club one month ago, it feels better than my brother-in-law's TM360Ti which I played for two months earlier this year. I hit it straighter than my other clubs though I occasionally hook it. Distances are typically around 280-300 yards (I'm at 4000 ft altitude).
