  • About Spain Crossword

Introduction: Spain Travel Guide

It's impossible to visit Spain without submerging yourself in its lengthy, multicultural history . In the years between the early Iberian and Celtic tribes and today's modern democracy , Spain has passed through the hands of Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Carthaginians, Moors and Christians. Steeped in history and antiquity, Roman ruins effortlessly rub shoulders with sumptuous Islamic palaces , turreted medieval castles and jaw-dropping Gothic cathedrals- all of them left behind like cultural footprints in the Spanish sand.

Needless to say, Spain is much more than the common travel brochure clichés of Andalucía-born flamenco and bullfighting . While its regions are extraordinarily different on many levels, Spain as a whole boasts a multi-faceted cultural scene unlike any other. The splendor and incredible preservation of Spain's architecture is only one demonstration of Spain's heritage of artistic excellence, attention to detail, and creativity. In fact, the architecture gracing Spain's streets and squares have led to more UNESCO World Heritage Cities than in any other country!

It's no wonder that Spain bred geniuses like Diego de Velázquez, Francisco Goya, Pablo Picasso and Antoni Gaudí! Medieval religious pilgrimages, incredible museums , age old traditional music , delicious food and drink , competitive sports and historic theaters are also a huge presence on the cultural scene.

One facet of Spanish culture that has attracted tons of well-deserved acclaim from around the globe is Spain's festival calendar. From the religious sobriety of Semana Santa (Holy Week) to the pyrotechnic madness of Las Fallas , the clamoring of the Running of the Bulls, the gaudy costumes of Carnival and the annual tomato-flinging frenzy of La Tomatina , Spaniards have a one-of-a-kind talent for throwing an unforgettable party.

Even outside of festival time, you're guaranteed to notice that there is always something going on and people are always - and we mean always - on the move. Spaniards are welcoming, enthusiastic and social creatures, so it's only natural that the Spanish lifestyle boils down to being out and about in the streets, chatting over coffees, strolling arm-in-arm and making the most out of each day. For this very reason, the Spanish schedule seems so "off." Meal times are hours later and often last for much longer than in most countries; with dinner often lasting until well past midnight, Spain's nightlife scene doesn't kick into high gear until the wee hours of the morning and doesn't slow down until the sun comes up.

Have we grabbed your attention? Ready to learn more? It's impossible to know and understand this incredible country in one page- explore the rest of our Spain Guide to discover the history, the culture and the diverse beauty that is Spain.

Introduction: Travel Brochure in Spanish

Travel Brochure in Spanish

Creating a travel guide in Spanish is an activity which could be done in any level Spanish class. The guide I have demonstrated would most likely be used in a Spanish III or IV class since the future tense verbs would be used. However, this could be modified to use present or past tense in order for a beginner level class to do. Objective: The student will research different aspects of a Spanish speaking country such as culture, geography, landmarks, and historical sites. The student will use new and old vocabulary to create a travel brochure about their target country. After completing the travel guide, the student will compose five recommendations for someone traveling to the country (each five need to be in a different subject: (I, You, He/She, We, You Guys, They) and compose five sentences conjugating verbs to the future tense explaining what they will do when they visit the country (these also need to touch the five different subjects). By doing this Spanish Travel Guide, students will demonstrate the knowledge of using present and future tense verbs. The guide will also show that students are able to use research techniques to find information and present the information in a meaningful way. By researching a specific country, students will gain an appreciation for different cultures and history in another country. Materials: Construction paper, computer, printer, colored pencils and/or markers, glue, tape, and a pencil. If students desire to use a different material to make their brochure they can bring in other materials such as cardboard.

Step 1: Select a Country

Students will select one of the following twenty Spanish speaking countries that they would like to research. Ideally, each student will select a different country. 1. Spain  2. Guatemala 3. Honduras 4. El Salvador 5. Nicaragua 6. Costa Rica 7. Panama 8. Cuba 9. Dominican Republic 10. Puerto Rico 11. Mexico 12. Venezuela 13. Colombia 14. Ecuador 15. Peru 16. Bolivia 17. Uruguay 18. Paraguay 19. Chile 20. Argentina

Step 2: Research the Country

Research the Country

Students will need to research different aspects to add to their travel brochure. The guide must include: • At least two popular cultural events • At least two major historic places to visit • One must try dish cuisine • Recommended method of travel • Two major cities (one including the capital of the country) • An interesting cultural aspect or celebration

Step 3: Pictures

Pictures

After researching important information, students will need to draw or print pictures which depict their information.

Step 4: Layout & Design

Layout & Design

Students will decide their layout and design of the brochure. This includes choosing where to put what topics & how to integrate them in a way which will appeal to the reader.

Step 5: Place Pictures

Place Pictures

After designing a layout for the guide, students will now need to glue or tape their pictures to the guide in the spots they have designated. Students must be sure to leave enough room to add the information corresponding to the pictures.

Step 6: Add Information

Add Information

Students will now need to add their information to the guide explaining the significance of the photos.

Step 7: Future Tense Sentences

Future Tense Sentences

After writing the information about the pictures, students will need to write one sentence in the future tense about what they will do relating to the picture. There needs to be one sentence for each subject (I, You, He/She, We, They).

Step 8: Recommendations

Recommendations

One spot of the guide will be designated for students to create recommendations for someone preparing to travel to the target country. The recommendations will be done in the present tense and must include each subject (I, You, He/She, We, They).

Make Your Own Travel Brochure For Any Country

This exploration is for all ages, as the colored smilies show. You can make travel brochures about all sorts of places with your whole family together!

spain travel brochure project

These printable travel brochures are part of a geography exploration that is featured in several of the Layers of Learning units. The first time you are introduced is in People & Planet: Maps & Globes , the very first geography unit , but they are also used in many other geography units. Layers of Learning has hands-on experiments, explorations, and fun printables in every unit of this family-friendly curriculum. Learn more about Layers of Learning .

Travel brochures are a great way for kids to record information about beautiful places around the world.  With the internet, it’s really easy to find travel information, but it’s still more fun to search it out in a library book, and it’s even more fun still to go find a travel agency.  They have lots of free full-color brochures and cool insider information.  And when you make your own travel brochure, you’re sure to remember all those fun facts you learn as you put them in one place.

Step 1: Library Research

Before you begin exploring, read a book or two about the place you are learning about. Atlases or geography books containing all the countries of the world are a great starting place, and you can also search for books about the specific continent, country, state, province, region, or landmark you are focusing on from your library. Here are some suggestions for books we really like. The colored smilies above each book tell you what age level they’re recommended for.

As Amazon affiliates, the recommended books and products below kick back a tiny percentage of your purchase to us. It doesn’t affect your cost and it helps us run our website. We thank you!

Step 2: Travel Brochure

All you need to make this is the free printable travel brochure and any art supplies you want to use. You can print pictures from online, cut some out of brochures you got from a travel agency, or draw your own.

Travel Brochure

Kids can choose a place, find out all about it, and then create their own travel brochure describing what it’s like, the fun things to do there, and why they would choose it for a destination spot.  There are also blanks for drawing or cutting and gluing pictures of their vacation spot.

Step 3: Show What You Know

Everyone can show off and share their destinations and brochures with each other. You can even make a few copies of your work and distribute them to the members of your family.

Additional Layers

Additional Layers are extra activities you can do or tangents you can take off on. You will find them in the sidebars of each Layers of Learning unit . They are optional, so just choose what interests you.

Writer’s Workshop

If you want to get really creative you could even use it as a history activity.  (Imagine you were a European getting ready to travel to America for the first time during its colonization.  Maybe you’re a knight heading to the Holy Land for a crusade.  Perhaps you’d like to visit the Egyptian pyramids during their construction phase.)  Pick a time period and a place and you’ve got a history activity as well.

Additional Layer

Make a map of your destination to go along with your brochure. You can draw the map on the back side of the brochure so it is double-sided.

Video a travel commercial to accompany your brochure. Use it to convince others to travel to the destination on vacation. How convincing can you be?

The paper you made was awesome! I don’t really know what to do in the explaining part below the travel brochure to ____ ( picture ) then the lines. Would you please explain?

You just draw pictures of some place in the world and then write interesting things about it. The blank lines can be filled with anything you like. The purpose is to get your kids researching and excited about places around the world while practicing researching and writing skills.

Travel projects that inspire.

spain travel brochure project

Looking for new ways to have your students explore the Spanish-speaking world? Send them on a trip!

Projects are a great way to provide students with a real-life application of the vocabulary, phrases, and skills they are learning in your class. When it comes to learning about Spanish-speaking countries, pairing lessons on culture and history with vocabulary and structures surrounding traveling, leisure, and activities can make for some awesome creation and conversation. Over the past few years, various travel projects have sparked excitement and interest but the Travel Plan Project has always been my favorite and has yielded the most in-depth creations.

The Travel Plan Project invites students to choose a Spanish-speaking country that interests them and map out a whole trip to visit the destinations of their choice and outline the experiences that call to them. Students create an itinerary for several days of travel, write about their “why” for visiting this country in an overview of their trip, and demonstrate learned Spanish structures in writing about a key point of interest.

Fill them up with vocabulary that can be used to talk about activities and modes of transportation while on their trip. In my vocabulary sets, I like to include basic sentence structures or starters that will be used in the conversational portion of our presentation in my vocabulary sets so that students get extra practice with those when we play vocabulary games or they study on their own. In my classes, we take conversation time every day, asking students to fill in the blanks on sentences and respond to questions in communication with their peers.

Share some fun videos and read some stories or poems from Spanish-speaking countries. Spend some time exploring intriguing features and exciting places to visit. Create a mapping activity and invite students to engage in conversation as they label it with the names of key locations.

-¿Dónde se encuentra la Cascada de Tamul?

-La Cascada de Tamul está en México.

The Process

Give students chunks of the project to work on and take time to model and guide them through the steps in class. You can use one of the examples linked below or create your own to meet the needs and levels of your class and learning goals. Have students read, identify key words, and answer questions about meaning as you go through each stage.

Provide scaffolds for your students by giving them sentence structures. Students who need additional clarification or assistance will benefit from a fill in the blank form in order to create their paragraphs. You can help them go through the process of forming each sentence or place them in groups to support each other in creating a certain section of the project.

Giving students options on how they will present their creation is another simple way to modify projects and give individual students an opportunity to display their knowledge in a way that makes sense to them. Students can choose a platform or style that they feel strongly about and can take pride in ownership when they develop a strong project.

Conversation and Presentation

Projects that require individual, creative solutions such as this Travel Plan Project open doors for dynamic conversation and presentation between students. Give students set questions and, if needed, a sentence starter or fill in the blank structure for how to respond. You can group questions into sets of 3-5 based upon theme or section and work on each set for a few days or a week. Go over the questions and how to respond in class, give students time to write out their response, and then invite them to have practice conversations with their classmates. If students are hesitant to get started, try playing “musical conversations” and have them move around the room, stopping when the music stops to ask one or all of the questions to the classmate nearest to them.

When it’s time to present their projects, conversation questions can be used as part of your evaluation. Ask students several questions at random and evaluate their ability to respond appropriately based upon the rubric shared below or create your own! My students really enjoyed sharing their presentations at our “Travel Expo” where they were able to see each other’s work, ask questions, and vote for the trip they’d most like to take. This also gave me an opportunity to grade most projects during one class period as opposed to taking several class days to have each student or group present individually.

Make it Your Own!

You know your students best, and you know what will work best in your classroom. This Travel Plan Project can easily be modified to fit various Spanish levels or adjusted to cover specific conversational, writing, or presentational goals. You can adjust the number of days for the itinerary, the amount of activities for each day, and the length or style of the writing components. Planning a unit to cover a specific country? Have your students focus their travels there. Want to build in some extra projects surrounding the theme of travel and the Spanish-speaking world? Ask them to create a passport with information about themselves or build a simple poster to advertise their trip.

What kind of travel projects have you done in your classes or how might you modify this one to meet your students’ needs? Share with us in the comments or link an example of student work! We’d love to see how you develop this theme and it’s so valuable when we can grow together. However you adapt this project idea, put your students' problem-solving skills and creativity at the forefront, and you can’t go wrong. Happy traveling teachers!

Travel Brochure Examples For School Project

A travel brochure is a type of advertising piece that encourages people to visit a particular location. Brochures are often distributed by tourism boards, hotels, airlines and other travel-related businesses.

If you’re creating a travel brochure for a school project, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, think about your audience. Who are you trying to attract? Second, what is your tone of voice? Are you trying to be funny, serious or informative?

Once you have those things figured out, it’s time to start designing. Your brochure should include a map of the area you’re promoting, as well as photos and descriptions of the attractions. You can also include testimonials from people who have visited the area.

If you’re having trouble getting started, there are a few travel brochure examples to help you get inspired.

How do you make a good travel brochure for a school project?

Creating a good travel brochure for a school project is not as difficult as it may seem. With a little planning and some creative design work, you can create a brochure that will impress your teacher and classmates.

Your first step is to decide on a theme for your brochure. Do you want to focus on a particular country or region? Maybe you would like to highlight a specific type of travel, like adventure or eco-tourism. Once you have a theme in mind, you can start thinking about the content of your brochure.

Your brochure should include a brief introduction to your chosen destination, as well as some facts and figures about the area. You’ll also want to include a selection of photos or illustrations to help illustrate your points.

If you are focusing on a specific type of travel, be sure to highlight the unique attractions that make that type of travel so appealing. For example, if you’re creating a brochure about eco-tourism, you might want to include a section about the local flora and fauna, or the various hiking trails in the area.

Your final step is to design your brochure. This is where you can really let your creative juices flow! Be sure to use an attractive layout and choose fonts and colors that reflect the feel of your destination.

When you’re finished, you’ll have a beautiful and informative travel brochure that will make your classmates green with envy!

What do you write in a travel brochure?

When it comes to writing a travel brochure, there are a few key things to keep in mind. Tone of voice is important – you want to sound excited and enthusiastic about the destination, without sounding too sales-y. You should also focus on highlighting the best aspects of the destination, and make sure to include plenty of images to help illustrate your points.

When it comes to the content of your travel brochure, it’s important to cover all the basics. Introduce the destination, explain why it’s a great place to visit, and highlight some of the highlights that visitors can expect. You’ll also want to provide some practical information, such as travel tips, visa requirements, and climate information.

Ultimately, the goal of a travel brochure is to convince potential visitors to book a trip to your destination. By highlighting the best aspects of the destination and using an enthusiastic tone of voice, you can create a brochure that will convince people to visit your town or city.

How do you write a school brochure?

When it comes to writing a school brochure, there are a few key things to keep in mind:

1. Keep it Informative

The purpose of a school brochure is to provide potential students and their parents with information about your school. Make sure to include details about your curriculum, extracurricular activities, and campus life.

2. Use a Friendly Tone

The tone of your brochure should be friendly and inviting. You want potential students to feel excited about the prospect of attending your school.

3. Be Concise

You don’t want your brochure to be too long or it will lose its audience’s attention. Try to keep it to a few key points that will interest potential students.

4. Use Eye-Catching Graphics

A well-designed brochure will grab people’s attention and make them want to read more. Make sure to use eye-catching graphics and fonts to create a visually appealing document.

When it comes to writing a school brochure, these are the key things to keep in mind. By following these tips, you can create a brochure that will impress potential students and their parents.

How do you make a travel brochure for a school project online?

Making a travel brochure for a school project can seem daunting, but it’s easier than you think. With the right tools and a bit of creativity, you can produce a professional-looking brochure that will impress your classmates and teacher.

The first step is to gather information about your destination. This includes facts about the climate, culture, and history. You’ll also need to find images of the area to include in your brochure. If you don’t have any images, consider using stock photos or free clip art.

Once you have your information, it’s time to start designing your brochure. There are a number of software programs that you can use for this, such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, or Illustrator. If you’re not familiar with these programs, don’t worry – there are a number of online tutorials that can teach you how to use them.

The most important thing to remember when designing your brochure is to keep it simple. Use clean, easy-to-read fonts, and stick to a consistent layout throughout the brochure. Be sure to use headings and subheadings to break up the text, and use bullets and lists to make it easier to read.

When you’re finished, save your brochure as a PDF file. This will ensure that it looks the same on all devices. You can then upload it to your school’s website or shared drive, or print it out for presentation.

How do I design a brochure?

When it comes to brochure design, there are a few things you need to keep in mind in order to create an effective marketing piece. Below are some tips on how to design a brochure that will get your message across to your target audience.

1. Start with a well-designed layout

Your brochure layout should be well-organized and easy to read. Make sure to use a clear and consistent typeface throughout the piece, and choose a layout that is both visually appealing and easy to navigate.

2. Keep it simple

When it comes to brochure design, less is often more. Try to keep your text and images to a minimum, and focus on highlighting the most important information.

3. Use high-quality images

Images are an important part of brochure design, and it’s important to use high-quality images that will capture the attention of your audience.

4. Use eye-catching typography

Typeface can play a major role in the overall look and feel of your brochure. Choose a typeface that is both easy to read and visually appealing.

5. Make it relevant to your target audience

It’s important to design your brochure with your target audience in mind. Make sure to include information that is relevant and interesting to them, and that will appeal to their interests.

6. Use a clear and concise call to action

Your call to action should be clear and easy to understand. Make sure to include a call to action that tells your audience what you want them to do, and make it easy for them to follow through.

How can I write a brochure?

When it comes to brochures, there are a few things you need to know in order to create an effective and persuasive piece. In this article, we will discuss some tips on how to write a brochure that will get your audience’s attention and help you sell your product or service.

The most important thing to remember when creating a brochure is to keep it simple. Your audience is likely to be busy and won’t have time to read a long and winding document. Make sure your points are clear and easy to understand, and use bullet points to list your key points.

Another key element of a successful brochure is the use of images. Graphics and photos can help to break up the text and make the brochure more visually appealing. Make sure the images you choose are relevant to your topic and help to illustrate your points.

When it comes to the design of your brochure, keep in mind that less is more. Try to avoid using too many fonts or colours, as this can be confusing and distracting. Choose a simple and professional design that will make your brochure look polished and professional.

Finally, be sure to proofread your brochure carefully before printing. Typos and mistakes can be very distracting and can make your brochure look unprofessional.

By following these tips, you can create an effective and persuasive brochure that will help you sell your product or service.

What is the best travel brochure?

There is no definitive answer to this question, as the best travel brochure for one person might not be the best for another. However, there are a few things to keep in mind when looking for a travel brochure that is right for you.

One of the most important things to consider is the type of traveler you are. If you are looking for an adventure, a brochure that focuses on outdoor activities and ecotourism may be a good fit. If you are more interested in relaxation and luxury, a brochure that specializes in luxury resorts and spa treatments may be a better option.

Another factor to consider is the location or destinations you are interested in. If you are looking for a brochure that covers a specific region or country, make sure to research the options and find a brochure that is tailored to your interests.

Finally, consider the style and layout of the brochure. Some people prefer a more traditional, print-based brochure, while others prefer a digital format that can be easily accessed and viewed on a mobile device.

The best travel brochure for you will likely be one that is tailored to your specific interests and needs. Do your research, and ask around for recommendations to find the brochure that is right for you.
