2023 Halloween TV and Streaming Schedule: The Complete List of Specials, Movies and More

By: Author Adam Mortensen

Categories Entertainment , Premiere Dates , Television

The following is a complete list and schedule of all 2023 Halloween TV and streaming offerings including TV specials, Halloween episodes, TV series, horror films, and more. This schedule includes both original movies and TV series as well as Halloween-themed programming blocks like Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween and AMC Fear Fest 2023. The latter are listed in italics to keep the list easy to read for those not interested in them (also, I know much of Freeform’s schedule is not exactly what many would call “Halloween-themed” but I have included everything on their official schedule to be complete). Premieres of originals are in bold to make them stand out but additional episodes of series are listed in plain text. This post will be updated throughout September and October as more premiere dates are announced.

Note: For your TV and streaming listings needs, we also offer monthly roundups of all show and movie premieres as well as daily TV schedules .

Halloween 2023 TV guide: where to watch your favorite spooky movies and shows

Where to find all of the best horror movies and shows to get into the Halloween spirit.

Kathy Najimy, Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker star in Hocus Pocus 2

Disney Plus

Paramount plus.

Halloween season is upon us and this year there’s no end to the supply of horror and family-friendly Halloween programming to help get you in the spirit. The chilling challenge comes in trying to figure out where to find it all.

Shudder leads the charge with its 61 Days of Halloween celebration. But don’t worry, just because it started in September doesn’t mean the fun is over in October. On the contrary, they’re just getting started with even more original series and the best new horror movies from around the film festival circuit.

Streaming services like Hulu and Netflix have their own curated Halloween collections while networks like Freeform and AMC get into the game with movie marathons and special programming.

And then there’s a whole host of new movies and TV shows coming out in October.

Read on to learn more about all of the Halloween.

AMC Fear Fest Shocked by Shudder

This year, AMC is switching things up by launching Fear Fest Shocked by Shudder. Shudder is your home for Halloween movies all year round, but things get even spookier in October as the horror streaming service offers up new original programming during the month, while AMC is the home of Halloween classics all month long. AMC is also home to The Walking Dead and Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire .

In addition to the Shudder library, there are also several new original shows and movies making their debut on the platform. Many of these new movies, like the Edgar Allan Poe tale Raven’s Hollow , are fresh off the festival circuit and making their streaming debut.

Freeform's 31 Nights of Halloween

Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween is the only place you’ll find Halloween classics like Hocus Pocus , Maleficent and Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas on network television outside of Disney Plus.

This year’s daily lineup includes three Ghostbusters movies (the 1984 classic, the sequel and the 2016 remake) and the Hotel Transylvania franchise.

There are also a couple of movies making their Freeform debut in the lineup. Get Out , 2018’s Halloween, A Quiet Place, Happy Death Day and Happy Death Day 2U all are featured on the network throughout the month.

There are plenty of frightful and family-friendly Halloween options on Disney Plu s , including being the exclusive streaming home for Hocus Pocus 2 .

This year, Max kicks off its first spooky season under its new name with "House of Halloween." This curated section on the Max platform features movie collections that funnel into categories like Sweet Treat (think Coraline and Halloween Cookie Challenge ), Scary, But Not Scary Scary (like The Last of Us and True Blood ) and Haunt Your Dreams (with movies like Annabelle , The Nun and The Exorcist ).

Seaview Terrace is the 40,000-square-foot Rhode Island mansion famous for being featured on the TV show “Dark Shadows,” but the owners were shocked to find out that a recent visitor – a self-proclaimed warlock – had performed some sort of blasphemous ceremony in the house.

Ghost Nation TV Show on Travel Channel: canceled or renewed?

Get ready for Ghostober on Travel Channel with the return of Ghost Nation . The series will return with brand new episodes in October, and a Halloween reunion special has Kindred Spirits’ Amy Bruni and Adam Berry reuniting with Ghost Nation’s Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves, and Dave Tango for a special investigation.

Travel Channel revealed more about the return of Ghost Nation in a press release.

Paranormal sightings are on the rise and we need these guys now more than ever. Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango, the paranormal investigators responsible for igniting the ghost hunting phenomenon, are back this Ghostober with all new episodes of the hit Travel Channel series, Ghost Nation , premiering on Saturday, October 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT . Each one-hour episode spotlights locations with bigger, edgier mysteries, the danger is more in focus and the mission and what’s at stake are always in the forefront for the team. Not only will the team be helping terrified homeowners, they’re also investigating a deadly, abandoned glass factory, a demonic tattoo parlor and a mansion with a secret room sealed shut for a century, all to help people and their businesses survive. And they are joined by paranormal investigator Shari DeBenedetti to keep a close eye on the monitors, reviewing footage on the hunt for all things paranormal. Revelers can celebrate Halloween night with the ultimate series crossover, joining forces with old friends Amy Bruni and Adam Berry from Kindred Spirits . The ghost hunting teams reunite for the first time in nearly a decade (they starred together on SYFY’s Ghost Hunters ) to explore frightening activity inside an illustrious Newport, Rhode Island, mansion in Ghost Nation: Reunion in Hell , a special two-hour episode premiering Saturday, October 31 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. “We are ecstatic to get back to doing what we love, and we have some incredible cases to share,” said Hawes. “We were able to reconnect with our longtime friends Amy Bruni and Adam Berry. It seemed like time had stood still over the last 10 years as we rolled right into investigating and gathering some mind-blowing evidence and experiences.” “Working with Amy and Adam was an absolute blast and the investigation was phenomenal. It was really interesting meshing our techniques together and it yielded some amazing results,” said Gonsalves. “You’ll also be seeing some other familiar faces this season as well,” adds Tango. “I’m hoping the more people tune into Ghost Nation , the more they will see how accessible we are. We’re here to help everyone, and thankfully, having so many investigators in our network makes it possible for us to do that.” On all investigations, collecting evidence is just the beginning. With the help of their local contacts, the team embeds themselves in the community, conducting multi-day investigations in an effort to track down the true source of these hauntings and restore peace to the living. Under the United Paranormal Research Organization (UPRO) banner, it isn’t only Hawes, Gonsalves and Tango facing off against an unseen entity. Local paranormal groups, sometimes even the homeowners themselves, join the team as they employ new devices and techniques for confronting and questioning spirits. They’ll do whatever it takes to entice the ghost into telling its story and stop at nothing to get to the bottom of the paranormal phenomena. In the premiere episode, “Evil Ink,” Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves, Dave Tango and Shari DeBenedetti investigate the paranormal events plaguing the Zone13 Tattoo and Body Piercing shop in New Jersey. They head to the town of Deptford to investigate the tattoo shop where disturbing apparitions, disembodied voices and even physical encounters are threatening the business. After their own investigation, it seems that whatever noises the team are hearing are following them as they move. With all these strange happenings and fresh evidence, the UPRO team will determine if the shop is actually haunted by one of the property’s former owners, a woman named Bertha. “Ghost Nation: Reunion In Hell” – Premieres Saturday, October 31 at 8 p.m. ET/PT (Two-Hour Crossover Special With Amy Bruni and Adam Berry From “Kindred Spirits”) In this spine-tingling, two-hour Halloween special, “Ghost Nation” stars Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango are calling in their old paranormal pals, Amy Bruni and Adam Berry of “Kindred Spirits,” to reopen a case that has taken a sinister turn. I can’t wait. I wish they all were on weekly! I will enjoy every minute and I hope that Ghost Nation and Kindred Spirits would be renewed! Love, love , love the two shows!

I really love the show,, but I wish that they could go Places were it’s more scarier and more exciting

I love the show, the team etc, HOWEVER the over produced sound effects ruin the authenticity and you can’t always hear the activity by the effects that are not necessary.

So glad to see the guys back for another season. Hopefully many more to come

Absolutely I am a HUGE fan I even go back and watch older episodes when the season is over to get my fix, lol❤❤

Yes definitely, I have been waiting for them to be back. Love the show and the team.

So excited for the Halloween reunion!! being a long time Dark Shadow fan, Seaview Terrace will be a interesting investigation!!

halloween movies on tv

Looking for every single Halloween movie on TV this October? We’ve absolutely got you covered.

The pumpkin spice lattes are out, the leaves are beginning to fall, and October is around the corner. That means one thing: it’s Halloween time.

People tend to either love Halloween or hate it entirely, and those who love it have their own favorite aspects about it. While some love the silly, prankster side of the holiday or the mountains of candy, many love it for the celebration of all things horror-related that it has become.

You’ve probably already nailed down your nerdy Halloween costume choice by now, and now it’s time to look ahead to the month of October to mark down all of the Halloween movies on TV that you’ll be watching so that you’ll never have to wonder “what Halloween movies are on TV tonight?”. Instead, you’ve already done your homework (or, hell – bookmark this page, as we’ll update it regularly).

Whether you’re looking for the newest addition to the slate of Netflix Halloween movies, what horror movies are being shown on cable television, or where you can watch a marathon of some of your favorite horror TV shows, there are zombies, ghouls, and ghosts aplenty for your viewing pleasure in the month of October.

Between AMC FearFest, Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween (that’s right – 31 days, not 13 days , this year), Disney Channel’s Monstober, Syfy’s 31 Days of Halloween, and Turner Classic Movie’s October Horror lineup, there are plenty of opportunities to catch your favorite family horror movies on TV, as well as some of the top horror films of all-time.

Here’s all of the Halloween movies on TV tonight and the rest of October 2023, and as more networks release more of their detailed listings, we’ll be updating this post:

“Jack Osbourne’s Night of Terror” – Paranormal Investigation Series Returns to Travel Channel This Halloween

' src=

Halloween programming is about to take over the small screen as we barrel towards spooky season, and Travel Channel has begun to announce their Halloween 2023 lineup.

This October,  Jack Osbourne continues his journey into the paranormal and embarks on some of the most spine-tingling investigations of his career with a new season of “ Jack Osbourne’s Night of Terror .” Joining Osbourne this season is his famous family and some of his closest celebrity friends, who all have a desire to get a deeper understanding of what paranormal entities are lurking in the shadows of some of America’s most historic and haunted locations.

The season kicks off with an unexpected twist as Sharon Osbourne’s paranormal crash course turns into a medical emergency when “Jack Osbourne’s Night of Terror”  premieres Sunday, October 1 at 10/9c on Travel Channel .

In the season premiere,  Glen Tavern Inn airing Sunday, October 1 at 10/9c on Travel Channel , Jack is accompanied by his mother Sharon Osbourne to the Glen Tavern Inn, a century-old hotel in Santa Paula, California that has a colorful but tragic past. While Sharon enters the investigation unsure about whether or not she believes in ghosts, the more time she and Jack spend at the Inn, the more she is convinced something dark is lurking in the hotel’s historic suites. As the investigation’s energy grows things take a dramatic turn. Sharon lands in the crosshairs of one of the Inn’s most volatile entities, an angry and oppressive male spirit known for overtaking female guests – ending in a still unexplained medical mystery.

Over the course of the season Jack is joined by The Prince of Darkness himself,  Ozzy Osbourne  and sister Kelly as well as friends  Jenny McCarthy ,  Jason Mewes , and  Jamie Kennedy  for a series of all-night investigations that elicit terrifying, yet eye-opening paranormal findings. Ozzyappears in the season finale, alongside Sharon, to kick-off a 2-hour episode which will see Kelly and Jack visiting various haunted locales in an old town in Nevada.

From a seemingly friendly, yet very active haunting of an old museum in Illinois to an eerie medium session at a dilapidated estate that has an evil entity lurking in its basement, among other terrifying explorations, the new season of “Jack Osbourne’s Night of Terror” features incredibly compelling new evidence of the paranormal.

Here’s the full lineup for the new season…

Tinker Swiss Cottage

Premieres Sunday, October 8 at 10/9c

“I’m the Grim Reaper” – Sam Raimi Teams with ’10 Cloverfield Lane’ Writers on Gory, Funny Webtoon Adaptation

' src=

The Wattpad/Webtoons and Grave Weaver -created series “I’m the Grim Reaper” is nearing its 200th episode, and it’s also getting a new TV series adaptation with talented names behind it. Deadline reports that celebrated filmmaker Sam Raimi is teaming up with 10 Cloverfield Lane scribes Josh Campbell & Matt Stuecken on the new series.

The series follows “Scarlet, a young woman who wakes up in the ninth circle of hell with no idea how she got there. Satan offers to send Scarlet back to Earth if she’ll work as his reaper. But it doesn’t take long for Scarlet to realize that Satan’s offer is even worse than she feared.”

The story is said to fit perfectly into “Raimi’s wheelhouse, striking a deft balance between scares, gore and humor.”

Sam Raimi and Zainab Azizi will executive produce the series with Weaver, who’ll also team on the development process. Raimi may be most known for his Spider-Man and Evil Dead movies, but the filmmaker has been busy behind the scenes producing. More recently, Raimi produced this week’s action brawler Boy Kills World and last year’s 65 , with Don’t Move on the way.

The “I’m the Grim Reaper” webtoon launched in 2019, delving into the humor and horrors of reaping souls in Hell. That it’s on the cusp of airing its 200th episode means no shortage of story and mythology for Campbell and Stuecken to pull from.

Stay tuned for additional details on this new series as they arrive.
