Restaurant SIXTY

The food was okay and the service was pleasant however it was not as good or as memorable as the other restaurants that we dined at whilst visiting Moscow. The restaurant itself was beautiful and the view was still impressive despite it being a cloudy... day. It had a nice atmosphere but we were quite cold! It's not a place that I would return to in a hurry. More

This restaurant is NOT for couples on a romantic date. The music is too loud, the people watching is too distracting, the interiors are wowing, and the views command abandoning one's table in a rash to snap that one more perfect photo. The visit starts... with a lush lobby and a high speed lift that takes you up 62 floors in a swoosh. Ears still clogged, you are greeted by gorgeous welcome girls who escort you to your table in a huge hall cleverly divided into intimate cosy zones, all surrounded by floor to ceiling windows and a glass ceiling. Despite the sanctions imposed by Russia on foreign food imports, only 3 items were not available on the extensive menu: buffalo mozzarella, asparagus and foir gras. I am appalled by the reviewer who chose a burger from the menu. Seafood hot starters could be a meal in themselves: Wasabi grilled prawns, crab legs and other shell fish are superb in freshness, taste and presentation. Salads have fresh and crispy greens (where do they come from?) and delicate dressing. The mains include, just to name a few, all usual cuts of beef, rack of lamb, black cod, australian baramundi, halibut. The service was superb, one meal followed another seamlessly. The waitress had little English but menu contains English and we had no difficulties at all. The wine list has great choices served properly. People watching was fun. The restaurant had probably the highest concentration of gorgeous russian women under one roof, which proved a bit distracting to some of our party. Every half hour or so, the restaurant will turn up the music which is a sign that they are about to open the windows exposing the most spectacular views of Moscow. It's quite exciting and provides a welcome wave of fresh cool air. In conclusion, the food and service are superb, the atmosphere is fantastic, the views are spectacular - an absolute must in Moscow. Very good service and indeed having good food and atmosphere. The only thing I can criticize is the size of the raw oysters, just a bit disappointed. But overall, fantastic experience!

Don't go to Sixty. The reception was rude. When we got seated they said, we can only have the table for one and a half hours, the food is too expensive to be told that. Service is awful, we got served a little bit of... water in the beginning, and that was it. The waiter never came by and asked if we wanted more. Luckily I brought some water myself, so I survived my stay here. It was also not possible to book a table over the phone for lunch, which is weird. There was also a camera lady forcing us to take a picture. We said no, but she insisted on taking a photo and didn't tell us what she needed it for, we assumed it was for their Instagram. She even asked us to stand up and move more together while we just had received our food. We told her no, but she did not understand. After a while, she left, but she managed to take one picture of us while we were sitting down, and after lunch was over, she came back and asked if we wanted to buy a framed photo she had taken of us. We said no thanks. I'm happy I didn't go here in the evening because it would have completely ruined my evening. I don't recommend this place. More

There are a tables near the windows, but it's impossible to reserve these tables in advance. It's so strange, because if I book a table in advance I'd like to have a choice and garantee the table near the window with view to Moscow. Why... do I need a reservation at all? We booked a table and came to the restaraunt 30 min.later than the table was booked. Hostes said that our reservation was cancelled because of our late visit. They didn't call us and didn't ask us to confirm our visit. It's Moscow, a lot of traffic jams and it's impossible to be in time. And the last one- there is no table in non-smoking place. Many people smoke during the dinner and other guests have to smell this. The restaraunt should have tables for non-smoking people! There should be a choice! This restaraunt was much better when it was opened 2 years ago (I visited it in august 2011). Now it has become much worse! It seems like night club. not restaraunt. More

I went to this restaurant hoping for a nice Borsch with a good view of Moscow city, but was rather disappointed with the usher. Left me in the central area and there was no one who attended to me despite having been there for a... good 15 mins or so. I decided to leave the restaurant soon after. Food can be fantastic, view can be fantastic but bad service just drives your customer away! More

Crooked restaurant. Very bad. Forget it. Definitely. Noisy, impossible to have a conversation. Bad service. They even do not consider ladies, they are not served first... My dish was cold when served. At the end of your dinner they are asking you cash first for... paying the bill and then if you cannot pay with cash they are asking you for a black or gold credit card instead and if you cannot provide it they charge you 10% more... We've celebrated my wife's birthday there. I specifically mentioned this in the order and loudly declared this once more when we've arrived (it was Friday, 15.01.2016). No Birthday cake and/or song for us. I've specifically told the waiter once more before we've order the desert.... No result. Awful. Furthermore, we've being promised a discount on my premium (platinum) Mastercrad, but instead we've being over-charged for USD 50!!! Unfortunately we didn't keep the bill (check) - our mistake. And now we cannot even claim the fraud. Awful!!! More

My girlfriend and I decided to try out the "famous" sixty restaurants. Actually I could never complain about reatauranrs of the Ginza chain. Usually they would have friendly, more or less skilled and especially English speaking waiters. This general rule obviously does not apply on... Sixty. The restaurant itself is really beautiful, we liked the interior design, the view and just the overall setting. The waiters in there though are just worse than peasants. We had around 5 different waiters serving us, constantly switching and not knowing about what the other one is doing. Instead of sending an English speaking waiter to our table, we had someone not speaking a single word, just taking to my girlfriend in Russian, and not giving me the feeling of being involved in any way. There was not only a lack of language skills, but also a lack of any kind of education. This person was the worst waiter I have had for a while. I asked for extra wasabi when our sushi came and the wasabi arrived when the sushi was gone, the 2nd order of drinks arrived after we were done with dinner for a long time. He was not smiling, not charming, not good looking, not caring about his customers at all,b just overall the lowest performance of a waiter. I've been eating in a lot of high class restaurants all over the world and I am absolutely willing to pay a lot of money if I get a return on my investment. I feel myself capable to judge that sixty is just overrated and overpriced for what you get. The service is worth nothing at all. The food is just average with too high prices. The crowd visiting that place is almost as bad as the waiters. It is full of wannabe new rich thugs, who would not even be allowed to enter a restaurant in Paris the way they look and behave. So all in all I can only say it is a palace full of peasants More

Actually the dinner was fine. And we are normally good spenders. But: 1) the waiter tries to sell you the most expensive food and much much more than what you really can eat 2) we paid more than USD 240 per person and we asked... for a vodka after the bill and we had to pay again for it. 3) And, sincerely, Mr Novikov, is unacceptable to put a person who doesn’t speak english at the concierge. We had to use google translator to get a damned taxi after 30 minutes!!! I UNDERSTAND WHY IT WAS ALMOST EMPTY ON FRIDAY... More

Pre-booked a table by the window to enjoy the view from 60th floor. Upon arrival the staff impolitely denied having made such a reservation. Very bad start of the evening. This is disappointing, since the view is really the main attraction here. Food is decent,... service is medium, despite plenty plenty of staff, and hence a somewhat overpriced experience. One can see that a lot of attention is paid on presentation. Starters were nice, but portions are merely samples. Fish was overcooked, decently presented. The wine list is short and grossly overpriced, which is - unfortunately - not unusual in Moscow. Overall, Sixty was a somewhat disappointing experience! More

Worst restaurant ever!!! Service was terrible, no English spoken and food never arrived!!! They didn't care about us at all because they didn't understand. Moscow has better places!!!

The first we want to sorry about the “worst dinner”. We will immediately solve the problem with service and no English spoken waiters. Thank you for your review, we have to know all the problems to become better every day.

Bad and slow service, so so food, arrogant staffs. If you like a combination of these 3 qualities then step this way. To be considered only as a place to take photos and then leave immediately elsewhere. The staffs could not care less about quality... of services but are more than ready to check on the way you dress up for the occasion. My suggestion: order one drink, take photos and go elsewhere for real delicious dinner or lunch. Moscow has a lot more to offer than this place. More

Most of this has been said before on this site, but it's worth reiterating just how awful this place is. Yes, the view and the decor are great but the positives are far outweighed by the negatives. The door staff are spectacularly rude. It was... clear that even though we had a reservation they didn't think we were fabulous enough to eat there. Our waiter was totally inept. We waited 45 minutes for our drinks, our starters and mains all came together, and, after we sent out mains back because we wanted to eat our starters first, the same mains came back later on when we were ready for them, stone cold. They hadn't even bothered to reheat them. We sent them back again and complained to the manager. By way of an apology he brought us some free desserts - only we hadn't eaten our mains at that point. The whole evening was a total farce and not cheap either. This restaurant may not be extremely expensive by Moscow standards but for £100.00 a head the food simply isn't good enough and the service is unforgivable. AVOID! More

Nice location with perfect views to Moscow city and Moscow. What is bad you can not reserve by phone a table if want one to be close to windows. You have to reserve, visit them for deposit and then come again for dinner/lunch. The food... is average and Ginza has much simple locations with much more better food. So this is mainly a place to visit for views. More

5 restaurants with incredible views of Moscow

The restaurant Sixty is located on the 62nd floor of the Federation Tower, one of Moscow's tallest skyscrapers. At 225 meters above the ground, its height is no joke. You can almost touch the clouds during the day or count the stars and lights of the Moscow City skyscrapers at night.

When entering the restaurant, you immediately notice its huge panoramic windows and birch trees (which, unfortunately, are not real). And if you’re not ready to visit this restaurant for the sake of these windows alone then its talented French chef, Regis Trigel, should be more than enough to persuade you.

One guest named Alexander shared his impressions: "The point of the restaurant is the moment when the windows open, people get up from their seats to stand by the open windows and admire Moscow in the open air. In fact, from the usual procedure of airing the rooms, a whole show is made—that's great! It is said that this is the only place in all Moscow City where the upper parts of the windows are fully opened."

Keep in mind it is best to make a reservation in advance in order to get a table by the window.

White Rabbit

White Rabbit took 23d place in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. That’s already impressive enough, but its view also stands out. White Rabbit is located beneath a glass dome on the 16th floor of Smolenskiy Passage. In the evening, a stunning view of the city is guaranteed, but make sure to reserve well in advance to get a table near the window.

Vladimir Mukhin, White Rabbit’s chef, makes Russian cuisine in line with the latest trends and using local products. Guests are usually delighted with the Chef's Table—evenings when Mukhin and other chefs from the restaurant present special menus. If you want to taste unusual combinations like borsch with carp or ice cream made from traditional black bread, this place is for you.

3 Smolenskaya square, 16th floor

Karlsson astonishes visitors with unbelievable views of the Kremlin and Moscow's historical center. The restaurant is especially pleasant in the summer when the veranda is open. The restaurant’s brand chef, Carlo Grecu from Italy, prepares Mediterranean cuisine. Try the risotto with king crab and avocado mousse.

Ovchinnikovskaya Embankment, 20/1, BC "Central City Tower"

Buono restaurant is located on the 29th and 30th floors of the renovated Ukraina Hotel, the new Radisson Royal, which is located in one of Moscow’s seven famous skyscrapers. Most of the seats are lined along panoramic windows on a covered terrace, providing a breathtaking view of the city. Another thing that attracts guests' attention is the wooden pizza oven. As you might have already guessed, Buono’s chef, Christian Lorenzini, specializes in classic Italian cuisine. Try the scallops with fresh spinach, green asparagus, morels and truffle sauce.

You might also want to visit one more restaurant in the same building—the rather more brutal Mercedes Bar, situated on the 31st floor. In Mercedes Bar, Christian Lorenzini prepares dishes based on the top hits of modern European cuisine.

Seventh Heaven Restaurant

This restaurant is located around 330 meters above ground in the Ostankino TV Tower. It was opened in 1967 but closed for reconstruction following a fire in 2000. It finally reopened in 2016.

The restaurant complex covers three floors. In order to get there, you need to buy a ticket to the observation point. Then choose where to eat: in a bistro, cafe or restaurant. The tables stand on a platform that rotates in 40-minute intervals, showing you Moscow from a bird’s-eye view. The different dining options vary in terms of menu, price and interior decoration. Chef Andrey Gurko is guaranteed to complement the views with equally impressive gastronomic adventures.

MOM AND DAD ALERT: This coffee shop has changing tables!!! My husband and I visit local coffee shops pretty much every week. As a mom of an infant and a full time student I can say that it is very frustrating when I have to pack up my stuff and take the baby to the car just for a diaper change. This is the only cafe I've visited in town that has one. In addition to that awesome feature, the lunch sandwiches are delicious. The atmosphere is clean, comfortable, and not too loud (for those interested in a study friendly cafe). This will be my go to cafe from here on out!

The hubby and I LOVE coffee and made a list of local coffee houses we wanted to check out while in Springfield. Travellers did not disappoint. Hubby had the dark roast and I had the medium roast. The barista was super sweet and was able to accommodate my love for steamed almond milk in my coffee. Cute little shop with plenty of seating which appeared to be a great spot for studying or working. Great cup of coffee and a fantastic assortment of teas as well. Definitely check out Travellers if your in town.

Super great coffee shop to study at or just hang out! I've tried something different every time that I've come in and have not been disappointed! They have a great selection of teas if you're an aficionado like myself. Love the open windows with great places to sit and get lost!

Really neat place with friendly staff. We had dinner here whilst in the area. Vegan options are available. Husband had the ... turkey dinner and I opted for the mystic river wrap minus the cheese and horseradish and we both really enjoyed them. Food wasfresh and hot and our waitress was awesome. Books line all of the walls and each person gets to take three books home! Reallyawesome idea and nice to see something new. Restaurant was very clean and had some items (T-shirt?s, mugs, cards) to purchase atthe front area. They also have books for sale downstairs if interested. I had troubles booking the hotel until I called the hotel and got their email. From there my experience is great. The hotel is clean, room is spacious. The lobby bar is good, I had several meals in there. The staffs are friendly and very helpful. The hotel locates in a great spot - on top of Medelevskaya station, next to a bank (for exchanging money), and there is shops, supermarkets within 2 mins walking. Next time I'm in Moscow, I think I will stay here again.

Clean and comfortable stay, quick check in, free parking and a bed organized for our kid - all was good. The room was not new though maintained well and repaired where needed. The pillow was not comfortable for me, but my partner did not complain and the kid slept well, too. In the morning we saw bottles, boxes after pizza at the room door next to our, but we did not hear noise at night - I suppose the soundproof is good.

Just an average restaurant. Nothing special, just the views. A lemonades and cocktails were spectacular while bistroganoff came out room temperature and super salty. Pizza, fish, and buratta were okay. We had a ten year old kid with us and you should of see her... disappointed face when she ordered two ice cream 🍨 balls. The server brought her two tiny little drops of ice cream. Seriously, they were really 1/3 of the size of a regular ice cream scoop🤷🏽‍♀️. More

Came to birds late night for drinks & dinner! Fantastic atmosphere, really good service and also good food. We had a blast, thank you!

It's ridiculous for this type of restaurant/club that they don't accept credit card! The service is tipically Russian (bad) - waiters force you to order more and drink more and more. On the other hand, the atmosphere is good.

My boyfriend and I celebrated my birthday there. Well, the story started with the fact that my partner who does not speak Russian fluently could not book a table by calling them since NO ONE! at the reception spoke English/French/German or any other language. His... requests to speak slowly and clearly so he could try to converse in that little Russian he could were ignored, and the lady on the line was laughing instead of providing help in this very embarrassing situation. Later on, after waiting for 10 minutes for someone who reportedly could handle his inquiry he had to hang up as nobody picked up the phone. So in the end he had to open Google Translate and simply read his speech out. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ The place itself claims to be posh and fancy with gold decorations, feathers and pink lights everywhere. I personally found it cheap and tasteless, but okay, tastes differ. The music (let's be fair, pretty nasty pop music) was too loud, so we could barely speak at the table. Plus I had a strong impression that most of their customers had come there just to post on the Gram that they can afford a dinner in the neighborhood. The quality of the food however - at this price at least - was disputable. The seafood was really great, as well as sushi. Salads and mains were fairly very average. Whenever we asked the waiter for advice, he would always advertise the most expensive item in this or that section of the menu, that was pretty obvious. By the way, beware of the lady in a white gown selling flowers in the restaurant. You know, the one who puts men to shame when they refuse to buy a bouquet for their girlfriend or spouse at an indecent price. Can you imagine that in any Michelin place? Neither can I. Finally, the waiter who wasn't particularly nice or helpful mentioned "Please pay attention that the service fee is not included". Excuse me? Since when are we forced in this country to leave a tip? I know it might function differently in other places, but definitely not in Russia. Of course we knew that we could leave a tip if we wanted to express appreciation to the waiter or the chef, but after he had literally said this, and in this intrusive manner, we totally changed our mind and didn't leave tips at all as a matter of principle. Believe me, we normally do. But that was not the case. Oh sorry, I forgot about the bouncers at the entrance who asked me to open my very tiny purse despite it could obviously fit in a phone and a few cards. They checked the inside and asked me what was in the 10*5cm box. These were blotting papers actually, girls will understand. Discriminating and uppity behaviour !! So we were not informed about any dress code at the time of reservation!! Thankfully we were dressed for the club .. but at the entrance were questioned for the reservation which they finally got after so much perusal .... Then we were told our footwear was not in the appropriate dress code .. so rather than refusing us entry ( which would be a lost customer ) they did us a " favour "and seated us at some corner not even inside the club ! We were naive enough to believe the footwear excuse till we saw some 2/3 people enter in sneakers and similar footwear . I would strongly urge tourists to stay away as this club only happy with locals I guess .. and we certainly got a racist vibe .. NOT recommended for tourists !! More

I wanted to check-out Birds during my Moscow visit last weekend but it was simply IMPOSSIBLE to make a reservation due to the incompetence of the customer service staff. I called a week in advance to make a reservation for Saturday evening for a dinner... for 5 people. The following issues occurred: - NO English speaking customer service. It’s not possible to get someone on the phone who speaks English in order to make a reservation. The girl I had on the phone wanted to connect me to an English speaking agent but that agent hang up each time the connection was established and I started talking in English. I called around 6-7 times during two days and it was the same scenario every time. - Then I let my Russian speaking colleague call and she left my number and was promised that a manager who speaks English would call me in order to make the reservation but guess what, I never received a call from anyone! - After a few days my colleague called again and tried to reserve the table for me. She was told that you have to leave a pre-deposit of 1000 RUB per person in oder to get a table with a nice view next to the window. Without a pre-deposit they cannot promise you a table. But as a foreigner you cannot make any pre-deposit as you need a Russian bank card for that. My colleague was promised to receive a call from a customer service staff who can make deposits for foreigners but of course nobody ever called! At the end of the day we went to Sixty instead which is located on the 62nd floor of the Federation Tower. It’s not the highest restaurant and club in the world but at least it’s possible to get a table and in Sixty you get an AMAZING view over Moscow! I suggest Birds improves the competence, reliability and friendliness of it’s customer service and makes sure that it’s staff speaks English and foreign customers get a chance to make a reservation. Birds is a restaurant club that you should absolutely visit when you are in Moscow especially if you have something to celebrate like your birthday. It is a fun place with a sort of a show going on whilst you are dining, ladies dressed as... birds with gorgeous feathers walk around the restaurant. There is a singer, a guitarist and a very good host who directs all of that. The food is very nice and fresh, the sea orchins and prawn carpaccio were excellent. The service was very attentive and professional. Too good to be true? It is quite expensive in the sense that there is a minimum spend per head of 20,000 roubles and you have to pay a deposit when you reserve your table. Later on in the evening, people start dancing around their tables and a mini dance floor is created. The concept is new, the bar is full of nice ladies having a drink... It is also apparently the highest restaurant club in the world situated on the 84th floor of the OKO tower so the view is staggering. More

The bar is on the 84th floor of a skyscraper and 354 m high. You must go with reservation. On the lobby floor, at the entrance to the club there are many luxury vehicles and bodyguars. There are ladies in topmodel beauty. The smoking room... is absolutely perfect. The food and entertainment is very nice. Prices are expensive and credit cards are not used. You should pay everything in cash. You must see such an environment once. More

Nice classy place, amazing atmosphere, food and drinks are good, but over priced, live music is playing all the time, you need to book it in advance, the stuff doesn't speak English unfortunately
