Why We Recommend Undercover Tourist For Disney Deals

If you’ve read even a small fraction of our content, you probably have noticed that we mention Undercover Tourist frequently as a place to get discount Disney World tickets ,  discount Disney World hotels , and discount Disneyland tickets .

First, it’s natural to worry about the legitimacy of any discounted Disney product. No one wants to spend hundreds, even thousands, of dollars and find out they got ripped off. So, there are plenty of searches done online for things like “Is Undercover Tourist legit?”

undercover-tourist-main-street.jpg

Yes—Undercover Tourist is legitimate. They are an authorized seller of Walt Disney World tickets (and hotel rooms) , and they sell them at decent discounts. The goal of this post is to talk a little more about Undercover Tourist to help you understand why we recommend them so much.

Always Compare Prices

We also want to remind you that you should always compare prices across legitimate theme park ticket sellers. You also don’t want to fall in the trap of thinking prices are the same throughout the year. If you can be flexible, some months are cheaper than others at Walt Disney World .

Undercover Tourist Sells Disney Tickets At Reduced (“Wholesale”) Price

Undercover Tourist is most popular as an authorized seller of Walt Disney World tickets. They’ve also added Disneyland tickets to their offerings. They sell these tickets at a discounted price. In short, the reason we recommend them is because they offer great (often the best) discounts and have good service and a great reputation.

As a quick example, we personally saved $126 one trip by buying our tickets through Undercover Tourist . They’re able to sell at a discounted rate because the tickets are what are known as “wholesale,” meaning Undercover Tourist has purchased a bunch of them from Disney at a low rate, and now they're passing some of that discount onto you.

Wholesale Tickets Aren’t Any Different Than Gate Tickets!

If you’re worried that wholesale tickets are different than tickets you’d get through Disney online or at the gate, worry no more! When it comes to how you use them, benefits you get, and restrictions on when they can be used, the rules are the same as any other Disney ticket. Once you purchase the ticket and link it to your My Disney Experience account, no one gives any attention to how you acquired them.

Wholesale Tickets Can Be Bridged

Ticket bridging is when you upgrade a discounted Disney ticket to an annual pass. You’re credited the gate price of the ticket when you do this, so you’ve essentially saved on your annual pass. Disney Tourist Blog has a great post on ticket bridging . We bridged to get our Disney World annual pass .

The Savings Are Pretty Good

As we discuss in our post on discount Disney World tickets , these discounts are usually around 8% to 10%, and a family of four on a five-day trip can expect to save around $150 buying tickets through Undercover Tourist. For example, we saved $126 or 8.4% buying tickets through Undercover Tourist.

Disney tickets are one of the hardest items to save on when it comes to planning a trip. But Undercover Tourist’s Disney World ticket prices are a decent discount on this expensive part of your trip.

undercover tourist hotel

The savings are best when Disney raises ticket prices, as wholesale sellers like Undercover Tourist are able to sell some of their old supply at the prices they were previously offering.

Finally, Undercover Tourist sometimes has tickets for special events, like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party , though discounts on these are rare.

Undercover Tourist Often Has Great Hotel Prices

When it comes to booking hotels, Undercover Tourist is really no different than any other third-party site like Expedia or Hotels.com. Our limited, anecdotal experience is that Undercover Tourist often has prices that beat these sites. (You’ll also always want to consider renting DVC points if you're considering a deluxe stay.)

In any case, it’s definitely worth checking out when booking your Disney hotel. We once booked an Art of Animation stay through them and saved $50 vs. Disney’s prices when other sites weren’t even able to offer us Little Mermaid rooms.

What’s more, Undercover Tourist often beats Disney’s own deals. Here’s a 2024 example where a room at Pop Century was deeper discounted on Undercover Tourist than during a seasonal Disney offer:

undercover tourist hotel

$973.36 on Undercover Tourist…

undercover tourist hotel

…vs $1038.57 on Disney

That $65 savings isn't huge, but what’s notable is that these savings were available while Disney had a room offer going on! No site is always going to beat another on price, and certainly no site will always beat another on the mix of price and inventory. But if you're not at least checking Undercover Tourist before booking your Disney World hotel, you're potentially missing out on big savings.

(FWIW, Undercover Tourist also markets car rentals, but we’ve never used them for that.)

Undercover Tourist Purchases Easily Connect to Your Disney Account

Note: The details (i.e. screenshots) of this section may not match the specifics of the website designs today, but the overall process of linking has remained mostly unchanged.

If you’re a master Disney planner, you know how important it is to link your tickets and your hotel room to your Disney account well in advance of your stay .

Happily, Undercover Tourist makes it easy to link these items to your account. First, you need a ticket number. If you buy and ship physical tickets, the ticket number is on the back of the ticket. If you purchase an E-Ticket, you'll get a "Reservation #" that can be found by clicking a link they email you or through your Undercover Tourist account:

ticket number.JPG

When you navigate over to your My Disney Experience "My Reservations and Tickets" page, you'll have the option to "Link Tickets."

undercover tourist hotel

Then just enter the reservation number (or the ticket number from a physical ticket)...

undercover tourist hotel

And choose who to link the ticket (or tickets) to...

specify person.JPG

And congrats, you're done!

Linking hotel rooms is even easier. When we made our last reservation with Undercover Tourist, we received an email with a reservation number...

...which we just went ahead and entered into the Disney website's "Link a Resort..." page.

While we cover this a little more below, you might notice one difference between a third-party room reservation and one made through Disney:

undercover tourist hotel

When you compare the Polynesian reservation we made (through Disney online), to our Art of Animation reservation through Undercover Tourist, you'll notice cancellations to third-party bookings have to be made by calling Disney. We can't see why this would be a problem, though.

Once our tickets and hotel reservation were linked to our account, we had no problem checking in online or accessing our tickets.

Undercover Tourist Has a Proven Track Record (Including With Us)

The #1 reason we recommend Undercover Tourist is simply that we actually use them (as we mentioned twice in this post already). Prior to becoming annual passholders, we exclusively used Undercover Tourist once we’d learned about them. We bought Disney tickets and Universal tickets, and we always got great deals on real tickets. Overall they were always a great way to save money on our family vacation.

Beyond us, we have friends, family, and readers who have used them, and countless sites also swear by them. Again, we’re not saying you should buy tickets or hotel rooms from them no matter what. You always want to get the best price you can for a legitimate product. We're just here to clarify that Undercover Tourist is totally legitimate, easy to use, and offers good discounts.

The Downsides To Using Undercover Tourist

Yes, there are some downsides to using Undercover Tourist. While we don’t think they are a big deal, we do think they're worth pointing out so you can evaluate for yourself whether Undercover Tourist is right for you.

No Access To Packages / Disney Offers

This isn't a downside, per se. You should always book the deal that makes the most sense for you, whether its a package through Disney, a room through Undercover Tourist, or a room through some other site.

No free dining when you book through a third party. But you can still eat. (Sorry if that's confusing.)

No free dining when you book through a third party. But you can still eat. (Sorry if that's confusing.)

But, for example, if you’re interested in a Disney dining plan , you wouldn’t be able to get a free dining promo on a room booked through Undercover Tourist (or any other third party). You wouldn’t have even been able to add dining plans to these rooms. If there’s a discount on a package (room + ticket) through Disney and you book the room through some other third party, you won’t be able to get the “package” discount just by buying tickets through Disney.

Processing Times

It can take up to 24 hours for park ticket orders to be processed. When we made a $2000 order with six tickets (three Walt Disney World, three Universal Studios), we were delayed a bit more when they required us to call and confirm our order. Personally I think this was a good thing for them to do, as it was a big, relatively complex order.

Hotel Deposit Policy

This is probably the most significant difference between booking through Undercover Tourist (or any third-party site) and booking through Disney directly. If you book a hotel room through Disney directly, you only have to pay a deposit up front. You pay the balance of your room when you arrive.

If you book a Disney hotel room through Undercover Tourist or any other third-party site (like Expedia), you’ll often have to pay the entire balance up front. For some people, especially people who like to make speculative bookings early on in planning, this can be a real nuisance.

Conclusions

This post has been a little longer than intended, but with good reason. We want to make sure you're as comfortable as possible with the advice we give. What this boils down to is a mix of a few things. Yes, they are a legitimate agency that offers great discounts. No, we aren't an affiliate of Undercover Tourist. And, indeed, we use them for a lot of our bookings because they're discounted and very convenient.

Undercover Tourist Review [Discounted Tickets, Hotels, and Car Rentals]

What is Undercover Tourist?

Paper tickets vs. e-tickets, refundable tickets, travel insurance, undercover tourist crowd calendar, the frog guarantee and frog family promise, price comparisons, earning points on tickets, final thoughts.

We may be compensated when you click on product links, such as credit cards, from one or more of our advertising partners. Terms apply to the offers below. See our Advertising Policy for more about our partners, how we make money, and our rating methodology. Opinions and recommendations are ours alone.

Undercover Tourist is a popular website for purchasing theme park tickets at a discount. If you’ve planned a trip to Walt Disney World , Universal Studios, or SeaWorld, you’ve probably come across Undercover Tourist. But did you also know you can use this website to book hotels and rental cars, too?

In this post, we’ll go over what you need to know to use Undercover Tourist to find the best prices on amusement park tickets, hotels, and rental cars. Plus, we’ll go over some of the popular features of the site like the Crowd Calendar.

Undercover Tourist is a website that that’s been around since 2000 and is known for offering discounted tickets to theme parks across the U.S. The site is an authorized seller of tickets for all the major theme parks you know and love:

  • Walt Disney World Resort in Florida
  • Disneyland in California
  • Universal Orlando Resort
  • Universal Studios Hollywood
  • SeaWorld Orlando
  • SeaWorld San Diego
  • LEGOLAND Florida Resort
  • LEGOLAND California Resort

Undercover Tourist also has discounted tickets to non-theme park attractions like Ripley’s Believe It or Not, ski resorts, zoos, movie theaters, and lots more! Plus, it acts as an online travel agency for hotels and car rentals.

While Undercover Tourist offers a ton of ticket, hotel, and car options, the site is limited in the number of destinations it covers. You’ll only find options in the following cities:

  • Breckenridge, CO
  • Chicago, IL
  • Los Angeles, CA
  • New York City, NY
  • Orlando, FL
  • Park City, Utah
  • San Antonio, Texas
  • San Diego, CA
  • San Francisco, CA
  • Washington, D.C.

Options in Seattle, London, and Paris are coming soon.

Bottom Line: Undercover Tourist is a resource for discounted tickets to theme parks and other attractions in select cities across the U.S. It’s best known for offering discounted tickets to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios theme parks.  The site also acts as an online travel agency for hotel reservations and car rentals in these select cities.

Discount Tickets

Let’s review the steps to using Undercover Tourist to purchase discounted tickets.

You can start your search for discounted tickets from many different places on the home page. Click on Discount Tickets in the top menu bar, click on a logo underneath the menu bar, or click on any of the featured tickets in the middle of your screen to start your search.

Finding discounted tickets on Undercover Tourist

After choosing your destination, you’ll be able to see lots of information about your chosen theme park, including maps, hotels, tips, and more. Scroll down a bit to find the availability calendar and ticket options.

Disney tickets through Undercover Tourist

The tickets you buy through Undercover Tourist are exactly the same as if you purchased them directly from the park, except you’ll probably save some money.

After choosing the type and number of tickets you need, you’ll be able to see your final price and choose your travel dates. The price you see is what you’ll pay — taxes are included and shipping is free!

Price of tickets on Undercover Tourist

Hot Tip: Are you on a tight budget? Check out our full guide to using visiting Disney World for cheap using points and miles.

You may be inclined to have your tickets emailed to you, but there are some risks. E-tickets are non-refundable, and you’ll need to stop at Will Call at the gate to pick up your physical tickets. For Disney tickets, if you have a MagicBand, you can add the e-tickets to your account and proceed directly to the gate, but they’ll still be non-refundable.

Instead, it may be a better idea to have the physical tickets mailed to you. This option is also free and the tickets will be eligible for a refund. Plus, you’ll be able to go straight to the gate at the park which can be a huge timesaver.

Paper vs emailed tickets from Undercover Tourist

Many tickets sold on Undercover Tourist are refundable within 90 days of purchase. To get a refundable ticket, you’ll need to have tickets mailed to you vs. opting for email delivery. Refundable tickets will be clearly marked. Be sure to confirm the return policy for your specific tickets before completing your purchase.

If you need to return tickets that you purchased, you’ll be charged a 5% fee to cover the return.

Hot Tip: E-tickets are non-refundable. To get a ticket that is eligible for a refund, you’ll need to select the Mailed To Your Door  option.

Before finalizing your purchase, you’ll be prompted to add travel insurance. Before choosing whether or not to add insurance to your purchase, you’ll want to learn about all of your options.

Undercover Tourist offers insurance through Allianz Global Assistance , a popular travel insurance company. However, the policy offered by Undercover Tourist covers lots of areas that may already be covered through your credit card including trip cancellation and interruption , lost or delayed baggage, and travel accident insurance, so it may not be needed.

If you purchase tickets that are eligible for a refund, insurance is probably not necessary. If you’re also booking a hotel or rental car, take a minute to determine if you have a credit card with rental car insurance  before purchasing a separate policy.

The Undercover Tourist Crowd Calendar is a popular feature on the site that helps you identify the least and most crowded times to visit a specific park.

To access the Crowd Calendar, just click on Crowd Calendar in the top menu bar of the website.

How to find the Crowd Calendar on Undercover Tourist

You’ll be able to look at specifics for a handful of the most popular destinations:

  • Discovery Cove
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • Magic Kingdom Park
  • Universal’s Islands of Adventure
  • Universal Studios Florida
  • Universal’s Volcano Bay

Undercover Tourist Crowd Calendar

Hot Tip: The Undercover Tourist Crowd Calendar is a color-coded chart that helps you predict which parks will be more or less crowded on a specific day.

Undercover Tourist mobile app

If you’re headed to Orlando, be sure to download the Undercover Tourist Orlando Planning App, free for iOS . This handy app will take the stress out of trying to navigate the parks on your own with features like an interactive map, up-to-date park information, park plans, and estimated wait times.

The app covers Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld Orlando.

The Frog Guarantee and Frog Family Promise are not price guarantees, rather they’re guarantees of quality and customer service.

The Frog Guarantee

When purchasing amusement park tickets through Undercover Tourist you’ll always receive:

  • Authentic tickets from an authorized seller
  • Free standard shipping
  • No hidden fees
  • 90-day refund/return policy (not applicable to e-tickets)
  • RFID enabled and Genie+ eligible Disney tickets
  • Next-day pickup or delivery availability

So, let’s answer the question you really want to know, “Can Undercover Tourist save me money?”

To do this, we priced out some ticket options for 1 adult on Undercover Tourist and compared those to what we could get directly from the park’s website.

In every single example we priced out, Undercover Tourist was the cheapest option! If you’re looking for discounted tickets to Walt Disney World and other popular theme parks, you’ll probably save money by using Undercover Tourist.

Hot Tip: You can NOT use Disney gift cards to pay for tickets through Undercover Tourist. So, if you’ve been collecting gift cards from stores with high points bonuses (like grocery stores ), you’ll need to purchase your tickets directly through the park.

Purchasing tickets to an amusement park can be expensive. So, of course, you’ll want to make sure you’re earning as many points as possible on your purchase.

Amusement park tickets usually code as “entertainment,” so if you’re purchasing them directly, you’ll want to use a credit card that offers bonus categories on entertainment purchases . The Citi Premier ® Card earns 2 points per dollar spent on entertainment purchases, including tickets to amusement parks.

However, purchases from Undercover Tourist code as “travel” which opens up the door to earn points on a variety of different credit cards. These credit cards all earn bonus points on the travel category, which will include amusement park tickets purchased from Undercover Tourist.

Earn 3x points on travel purchases with these credit cards:

  • Ink Business Preferred ® Credit Card
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve ®
  • Citi Premier card

Earn 2x points on travel purchases with these credit cards:

  • Chase Sapphire Preferred ® card
  • Capital One ® Venture ® Rewards card

Hot Tip: If you have an American Express card, check to see if Amex Offers has any current money-back offers from Undercover Tourist.

While Undercover Tourist is known as the place to buy theme park tickets, the site also acts as an online travel agency for booking hotels.

To get started, click on Hotels in the top menu bar. Then select your destination from the drop-down box and enter the number of travelers and your travel dates.

Your search results will be displayed in a format similar to other hotel booking websites that you may be familiar with (like Expedia , Priceline , Hotels.com , etc). Filtering options will be available on the left side of your screen and sorting options are located on the upper right-hand side, above the results.

Undercover Tourist Hotels filtering and sorting

Unlike with tickets on Undercover Tourist, the prices you see initially don’t include tax. You’ll have to click through to the payment page to see the full price with taxes and fees included.

Cancellation policies will vary by the hotel but will be clearly displayed once you add an item to your cart.

Undercover Tourist Hotel cancellation policy

Hot Tip: If you’re traveling to Florida to enjoy the theme parks, check out these places to stay in Orlando for your Disney vacation!

Let’s take a look at a couple of examples to see if booking a hotel through Undercover Tourist can save you money. For both of these examples, we priced out a week-long stay for 2 adults and 1 child. Prices include taxes and fees and are for the hotel stay only (tickets are not included).

The results are typical of most price comparisons we do — they aren’t consistent! Undercover Tourist had the best price for the first option, but Trivago came out with the best price in the second example. The bottom line is that you can definitely save money by using Undercover Tourist for your hotel stay, but not always.

The car rental search functionality on the Undercover Tourist website is pretty limited. You’ll only be able to search for car rentals at Orlando International Airport (MCO) from only 5 car rental companies — Alamo, Avis , Budget , Enterprise , and National .

Undercover Tourist Car Rental

We did a couple of searches to find out if booking your Orlando car rental through Undercover Tourist could save you money. We searched for the cheapest price for a week-long rental on 2 different dates.

In both of these examples, Undercover Tourist came out as the second most expensive option. Interestingly, Momondo  had the lowest price and Priceline had the highest price in both examples.

Undercover Tourist may be a great place to purchase theme park tickets, but it’s not a great option when you’re searching for a rental car.

Undercover Tourist is a popular website for purchasing theme park tickets on the cheap. It also acts as an online travel agency for hotels and car rentals, but only in select cities.

It’s a great site to use to save some money on theme park tickets, but the savings on hotels and cars aren’t as consistent.

Before you head to Disney, check out some of our helpful guides including re-opening plans , packing lists , and even how to visit virtually .

The information regarding the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card was independently collected by Upgraded Points and not provided nor reviewed by the issuer.

On this page you’ll find every known “room only” hotel discount at Disney’s resorts at Walt Disney World . We list Disney hotel promotions and codes that can save you a bundle, as well as other strategies that can help you get the best room rates at Disney World resort hotels .

Disney World resort discounts must be thought of as a “clearance sale” — if you want the discount, you have to be willing to take what’s left over! It’s important to be flexible with both dates and hotels, and to be persistent in calling back periodically to see if anything has opened up.

All of the discounted Disney World hotel rates listed below are subject to availability and are per night, usually for double occupancy, unless otherwise noted. An extra charge may apply for additional adults in the room. Kids under 18 years of age are free of charge on a “room only” reservation.

Historical Information on Discounts for Walt Disney World Resorts

  • Room Upgrades

Club Level – Is It Worth the Money?

Disney vacation club.

Disney has multiple “seasons” each year. Value Season is the least expensive and least crowded time, followed by Fall Season, Regular Season, Summer Season, Peak Season and Holiday Season . The various national holidays and the Walt Disney World Marathon weekend in January also have their own mini-seasons of 3-10 days, which will usually be somewhat more expensive than the surrounding dates. So the most basic way to save money on Disney’s resort hotels is simply to book in the off-season. There will typically be larger room discounts with more availability in the off seasons as well, which increases the savings considerably.

  • Our   2024 Disney World room rates pages also include the dates of the various rate seasons.

Each night of your stay will be priced separately, and you will be charged the applicable rate for that night. So for example, if the last date of Value Season is December 18 and you check in on that date, only that one night will be at the Value Season rates. December 19 and later will be charged at the higher Holiday Season rates. Plus, if some nights of your stay are weekend nights or part of a pre-designated holiday period, you’ll be charged the higher rate for those.

Long-time MouseSavers favorite Undercover Tourist also offers hotel bookings at Walt Disney World Resorts! Their base rates typically reflect the existing Disney discounts, plus they offer an additional discount on at least some resorts and room types. The biggest discounts seem to be on the Deluxe resorts, as you’d expect, but we’ve seen some discounted rates for Value and Moderate resorts as well.

Compared to other self-service travel websites like Expedia or Orbitz, Undercover Tourist has good prices year-round with no messing around with special codes, as well as friendly customer service with live human beings. They offer the same generous cancellation and change policies as Disney with no extra fees. Most importantly, unlike other self-service travel web sites, they understand Disney. They make it easy to get your booking linked to your MyDisneyExperience account so you can start booking things like park reservations and  dining reservations right away.

Keep in mind that this is a do-it-yourself option for folks who have done their own research and just want to book a room (and optionally tickets and/or a car rental). If you want to book a Disney vacation package or a Disney Dining Plan , or you would like a higher level of service, with a personal Disney Specialist who will talk to you and guide you through the whole process (with no fee), we recommend booking with an  Authorized Disney Vacation Planner .

Undercover Tourist is a great company that we have recommended for years for  Disney World and other Orlando attraction tickets as well as car rentals ; they’re well worth considering for hotels as well. Read more about why we love Undercover Tourist .

  • Visit Undercover Tourist to book stays at official Disney resorts!

Hotwire has a program called “Hot Rate” hotels and Priceline has a similar program called “Express Deals.” They offer extra-low rates (most of the time), but they don’t tell you the name of the hotel in advance. They just tell you the general area the hotel is in, and some (but not necessarily all) of the hotel’s amenities. From time to time, official Disney resorts will show up as a Hotwire Hot Rate or Priceline Express Deal hotel , usually for fairly short term reservations (we’ve seen them appear primarily for bookings less than 60 days out).

You have to actually commit to the booking to find out which hotel you booked. There are no refunds and no changes , so there’s a bit of risk involved. You’ll definitely get a booking at a hotel in the area, but there’s a small chance you’ll end up at a non-Disney hotel, so keep that in mind. They sometimes throw in hotels at only a few dollars off their normal rate, so don’t book just because it’s listed as a “Hot Rate” or “Express Deal” hotel. Always compare against the regular price of the hotel you think it is, including all taxes and fees!

There is no way to be absolutely sure that the hot rate hotel you’re booking is a Disney hotel, but if a Hotwire  Hot Rate or Priceline Express Deal hotel meets the following criteria, chances are quite high that it’s a Disney hotel:

  • Located in the “Bonnet Creek” area or “Disney Springs” area
  • 3 star or higher. (You will typically see 3 for Value, 3 or 3.5 for Moderate, 4-5 for Deluxe)
  • Has no “resort fee .”  The Disney-owned resorts are almost the last holdouts in the area with no resort fee. You may need to go all the way to the checkout screen to look for extra fees, because the amenities list doesn’t show this as a specific feature of the hotel. Sometimes it will be on the “details” screen for the hotel. That said, there are a few small hotels technically located in these areas that list their properties on either Hotwire or Priceline without resort fees, so this is not a completely perfect indicator.

The Disney hotels will also usually have the features listed below. Sometimes not all of a hotel’s amenities are listed in order to disguise the hotel’s identity, but the ones below usually are, as they are important to disclose in advance. These are not a definite indication of a Disney hotel, but if you don’t see matches on these, it’s most likely not a Disney hotel:

  • Free internet
  • No parking fee

To look for official Disney hotels in the Hotwire Hot Rate program, follow these steps:

  • Open Hotwire in a new browser tab.
  • Search for your dates and number of guests, and location “Orlando, FL”.
  • Select the “Hot Rate Hotels” tab if it’s not already active.
  • Use the filter drop downs near the top of the list to limit the search to  Area: “Walt Disney World – Bonnet Creek” and “Disney Springs” and 3, 4 or 5 star.
  • Take a quick look at the full details of each hotel and check for anything that suggests that it might be another hotel. Reconfirm that it’s in the Bonnet Creek or Disney Springs area and has no resort fee. Look for free parking as a listed amenity.
  • Disney Deluxe and Deluxe Villa hotels typically show as 4+ star hotels, Moderates as 3 or 3.5 star hotels and Values as 3 star hotels. If a bed type is listed, Disney Value resorts have Double & King beds, and Moderate and Deluxe resorts have Queen & King beds.
  • Note that Hotwire’s Hot Rates may not always be a massive bargain, and Hotwire tends to add a bunch of fees at the end, so check the final checkout price against other options for booking Disney hotels. If the savings is only a few dollars, probably you’re better off using another discount strategy where you can choose the exact hotel you want and being sure of getting an official Disney hotel.

To look for official Disney hotels in the Priceline Express Deals program, follow these steps:

  • Open Priceline in a new browser tab.
  • Make sure the “Express Deals” checkbox is checked on the left side of the page.
  • Use the filter checkboxes on the left to select Neighborhoods: “Walt Disney World – Bonnet Creek” and “Walt Disney World – Disney Springs” and 3+ Star.
  • Take a quick look at the full description of each hotel and check for anything that suggests that it might be another hotel.
  • Priceline sometimes lists hotels in Express Deals with only a few dollars off, and they add taxes and fees at the end, so check the final checkout price against other options for booking Disney hotels. If the savings is only a few dollars, probably you’re better off using another discount strategy where you can choose the exact hotel you want and being sure of getting an official Disney hotel.

For room-only bookings, using a discount code at an online travel agency might  provide a better price on a Disney resort room, but you need to be very careful . It’s definitely more work than using a full-service travel agent , but if you’re comfortable doing your own research, the savings can be worth it. Be sure to read the caveats in this section carefully, and compare the final bottom-line price for several different options before booking. Do not rely on the price shown on the hotel page or on the search comparisons page, or on the price shown on online comparison sites. The online travel agencies like Expedia and Orbitz are very cagey about tossing in additional fees on the final checkout screen, charging extra for cancellations when the hotel doesn’t charge for them and so forth.

Unlike a full-service Disney Specialist travel agent , online travel agencies don’t offer any significant service — this is a strictly do-it-yourself option. With online agencies, changes and cancellations may be a hassle and may incur extra fees. Be sure to read ALL the small print as you make your reservation (which may require you to select a link that says “terms and conditions,” “rules and restrictions” or something similar) so that you are clear on any extra fees. On the rare occasions when online agencies screw something up, it can be difficult to get the problem fixed, because you don’t have a single point of contact, as you would with a regular travel agent, and their customer service may be difficult to reach and may be handled from a call center on the other side of the world if you do actually reach someone.

Online travel agencies sometimes offer add-on tickets that may sound like a good deal but usually aren’t the best choice. Be sure to check their bottom line ticket prices, including any taxes and fees, and their terms and conditions, against Undercover Tourist .

To add your room reservation to MyDisneyExperience you’ll need to get the correct Disney confirmation number from that agency so that you can link your reservation to your online Disney account. Some agencies put a confirmation code that will work in their email confirmation that they send after you book. For others, you need to call or use their chat system to get the number you need, and sometimes that results in a frustrating interaction with someone who doesn’t know anything about Disney or their policies. If you get a clueless customer service rep, our advice is always to politely say you need to go, hang up (or end the chat), and start again. Repeat until you get someone who knows how to get you some help.

The online travel agencies we tend to check include Expedia ,  Travelocity , Orbitz , CheapTickets and Priceline . They usually offer Disney World hotel rooms at the same price you can get through Disney directly, including any current “room-only” discount promotion. Since they purchase large blocks of rooms at a discount, they will sometimes have discount rooms available when Disney is sold-out for that room or category. We have also occasionally seen a special discount at one or the other of them for last-minute bookings, after any Disney discount for that time frame had already ended.

Be sure to compare the rates; all of these companies are reputable, so book with whichever one has the best rates (being careful to check the terms and conditions for cancellation fees or other caveats). Note that all of these agencies offer “room only” bookings. You cannot book Disney’s vacation packages through them. If you want a vacation package including tickets and perhaps a dining plan, check our list of current package offers .

Disney sometimes sends out postcards and emails that offer deeply discounted Walt Disney World resort rates to the recipients. We can’t publish those discounts, because Disney uses a PIN (Personal Identification Number) system so that only the recipient can use the code. (When you call in with your PIN, they match your name and address to it. You can’t share the PIN with anyone else.)

How do you get on the lists for these special PIN-coded postcards and emails? No one knows exactly, and we have done a lot of research on it over the last 10+ years. It appears that Disney’s marketing department uses a variety of lists at different times. A specific geographical area might be targeted, or specific age groups, people with specific ages of children, etc.

If you want to have the best possible chance of getting a PIN-coded offer by mail or email, it’s definitely a good idea to request information from Disney whenever you get a chance, in order to get on its mailing lists. You might want to watch a FREE vacation planning video or request a brochure from Disney. They may get names from DisneyStore.com , subscribers to Disney publications and Disney Visa cardholders. In short, sign up for anything Disney (especially Disney World related) you can, and keep your fingers crossed!

“Bounceback” offers are offers made by Disney ONLY to guests who are either currently staying at one of the official Walt Disney World resorts or have recently checked out. The idea is to encourage you to “bounce back” to Disney World by planning your next vacation right now. These offers are not always available and could end at any time.

When a bounceback offer is available, you may be able to book a discounted room-only stay on selected dates at a Walt Disney World resort. Not all dates are offered, and not all resorts and room types will be included. Most of the time the bounceback offer is a room discount, but sometimes they’ve been known to offer Free Dining or other package offers.

To qualify, the reservation for your next vacation must be made between when you check in and 7 days after you check out , and there are no exceptions made . You must call the number provided (usually on a flyer in your room) and pay a one-night deposit for a room-only booking or $200 deposit for a package booking.

If you booked your current trip with a travel agent, definitely ask for your agent to be listed as the agent of record on the new booking (assuming you like your current agent). Once the booking is complete, Disney will hand off the booking to that agent for further assistance, and she will get the normal commission for the trip.

If you don’t get a bounceback offer on a flyer in your room, the resort TV channel may be showing this offer, or you may receive an email from Disney during your stay. You can also try asking the front desk and/or Housekeeping for a flyer. Even if you can’t find a flyer, you can dial x8844 from your room phone and ask if there are any current offers. You can also call (407) 934-7639 from your mobile phone, but keep in mind you must actually have checked into a Disney-owned hotel to be eligible to book a bounceback offer.

  • Sometimes there is a second room-only offer when the primary bounceback offer is a package offer (requiring getting tickets, room, and possibly dining at the same time). Be sure to ask, if they offer you a package discount and you’re primarily interested in a room and not a package.

UK/Ireland Resident Disney Resort Hotel Discounts

The Disney specialist travel agency we recommend, Small World Vacations , gladly works with clients around the globe. They have many clients from the UK and Ireland. Unfortunately they cannot book UK-specific offers, but sometimes the American offers are a better deal.

The best and easiest way to book any Walt Disney World holiday offers that are specific to UK visitors is to go online to the UK Walt Disney Travel Company website .

You can also check the UK Visitors page for current room-only offers that are specific to the UK.

Canadian Resident Disney World Hotel Discounts

Canadian residents can book the US offers listed above. The Disney specialist travel agency we recommend, Small World Vacations , gladly works with clients around the globe. They have many clients from Canada.

In addition, you can visit Walt Disney World’s Canadian website  and select the Special Offers tab to see any current deals specific to Canadians, but most of the time the offers are the same as those distributed in the US. Sometimes the Canadian offer will have a different discount code, but otherwise it will be identical to the US offer. If we learn of any specials for Canadians only, they are listed below.

AAA and CAA Disney Resort Hotel Discounts

There are, as of now, no AAA/CAA discounts available for stays at the official Disney World resorts.

Disney World Hotel Discounts for Military and Veterans

Military salute discounts, shades of green.

Military Salute Discounts for stays January 1 – December 20, 2024

Military discounts of up to 30% off Value Resorts, up to 35% off Moderate Resorts and Fort Wilderness Cabins, and up to 40% off Deluxe Resorts are available for stays 1/1/24 – 12/20/24.

The Military Salute room discount is available for a limited number of rooms and works on a sliding scale. That means that as rooms fill up for a certain date, resort or room type, the discount will be adjusted to an increasingly smaller discount, or may not be available at all.

Offer excludes Little Mermaid (i.e. Standard) rooms at Art of Animation Resort, Pop Century Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Villas at Grand Floridian, Cabins at Copper Creek Villas, Polynesian Bungalows, campsites, and 3-bedroom villas and suites in Moderate and Deluxe Resorts.

This offer can be booked as a room only reservation. If you wish, one of the Dining Plans (Quick Service or Standard) can be added, which will then change your booking to a package and therefore subject to the package rules . Park tickets cannot be added to special military packages because this offer is tied in with a specially priced ticket offer for military personnel and their families.

Offer valid for active or retired members of the US military, including the National Guard, Reservists, the US Coast Guard, the US Space Force with a valid military ID card. It also includes the Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service (PHS) and the Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Dept of Defense (CIA, FBI, Secret Service) and Coalition Forces are not included .

Military ID required at check-in.

Book by 12/10/24.

Thanks to Small World Vacations & Military Disney Tips for info.

  • To reserve a room with the Military Salute discount running 1/1/24 – 12/20/24 , call the Disney Reservations Center at (407) 939-7830 or contact a travel agent who specializes in Disney travel, and request this special offer.

Active duty and retired military, eligible disabled veterans , as well as honorably discharged veterans (during limited times of year) can stay at the Shades of Green (SOG) resort. Though not operated by Disney, this is a beautiful deluxe resort on Disney property, right across the street from Disney’s Polynesian Resort.

Read more about the amenities at SOG Resort and any current special offers.

To assist you in planning future trips for which rates or discounts have not yet been released, check out the list of past release dates for “rack” (full price) room rates , as well as a chart of release dates for the deepest discounts (including discount codes, Annual Passholder rates and Florida resident rates).

Room Upgrades at Disney Hotels

Free upgrades are rare at the Disney resorts. They do happen occasionally, however, if higher-category rooms are available. This is entirely at the whim of the person checking you in. If you are traveling during an off-peak time of year, when there is more likelihood of rooms being open, you can always ask the Cast Member at the front desk if there is any chance of a free upgrade. Of course it helps to be friendly, polite and enthusiastic — and don’t forget to mention any special occasions you will be celebrating during your stay, such as a honeymoon, birthday or anniversary.

If you’re willing to pay a little extra at the time you check into the hotel, it may be worthwhile to ask how much it would cost to upgrade. For instance:

  • MouseSavers.com reader Valerie O. reports that she asked how much it would cost to upgrade to concierge level. She was offered a rate that was $50 a night more than the extremely discounted rate she was already paying. If she had booked a concierge level room at that hotel in advance, even with a discount, it would have cost at least $150 more per night.
  • MouseSavers.com founder Mary Waring once asked about a paid upgrade to concierge level. There were no concierge rooms available, but the front desk very kindly upgraded her from a standard room to a view room without charge!
  • For a stay in May 2006, MouseSavers.com founder Mary Waring wanted to book a concierge level room at the Polynesian with an Annual Pass rate, but none were available. She kept trying for months, but could not get a concierge room at the discounted rate. So she booked the next price level down (Magic Kingdom View), which was available with the discount. At check-in she asked if there was any chance she could pay for an upgrade to concierge. The answer was yes — and they even had a Water View Concierge room with a view of the Castle available. She retained her discounted rate and only paid the standard price difference between the two room types.

There are no guarantees you’ll be offered a free or discounted upgrade. If a specific view or room type is very important to you, book it in advance.

In our opinion, there is really no way to justify Club Level (aka Concierge Level) in terms of “getting your money’s worth.”

By staying on Club Level, you have access to a lounge that serves continental breakfast, followed by light snacks more or less all day. During the day it’s usually something like goldfish crackers, potato chips and cookies, plus cold drinks; in the evening they have hot appetizers and wine for a couple of hours; in the later evening there are mini-desserts and liqueurs.

This is all very nice, but other than breakfast, it’s not intended to replace meals. (And many people will want to eat a hot breakfast or two somewhere along the line, which is not provided in the lounge.)

The Club Level rooms are not a big upgrade on rooms elsewhere at the hotel. They aren’t bigger or better decorated, nor do they necessarily have the best views. Sometimes they have a “premium” location (most centrally located, highest floor, etc.) — but don’t count on this.

Club Level guests have access to concierge staff in the lounge who can make dining reservations, etc. Regular guests can have the “Lobby Concierge” do the same thing. You might have to wait in a short line in the lobby; if you are a Club Level guest there’s usually no line in the lounge.

MouseSavers.com founder Mary Waring went to Walt Disney World in May 2006 (Regular season) and stayed at the Polynesian. She wanted a great view and wanted to “live it up” a bit. She upgraded to a Club Level room with a view of the Castle. At that time she paid about $150 per night (including tax) more than a non-Club Level room with the same view. The price difference in 2018 was more like $240 per night, including tax.

Here’s what she found out:

  • Their room was not bigger or better decorated than rooms elsewhere in the resort.
  • Their room was centrally located, but not necessarily more convenient to the Great Ceremonial House (lobby).
  • They had access to continental breakfast and snacks in the lounge. They prefer hot breakfasts, so they ate continental breakfast only once. On average they took advantage of the lounge about once per day, for a light snack.
  • They had access to the concierge staff, who would have made reservations for they. Since they had made reservations before their arrival, they never used this service.

We feel the Club Level room is not worth the extra cost. In fact, a family of four that was purchasing a vacation package could add the Dining Plan for around the same amount per night, and that would give them a table service meal, a counter service meal and two snacks per person per day. That would be a MUCH better value!

If you want to be pampered and feel like you’re “special” (and money is no object), Club Level is very pleasant. However, we don’t feel the slightly better room location, slightly better services and minimal food and drink provided are usually worth the substantial extra cost.

Disney Vacation Club (DVC) is a timeshare program operated by Disney at Walt Disney World.

Renting Disney Vacation Club (DVC) points is a little-known way to stay in a deluxe-level Disney resort for much less.

When reviewing Undercover Tourist I want to be upfront that sometimes you will save money and other times you may not. They offer great prices but at times the deals may only save you a couple pennies.

The best way to use Undercover Tourist is to compare it to the destination website you are visiting. I do this for every trip we take and go with whoever is offering the best prices for our travel dates.

Whether you are looking for Walt Disney World tickets, Universal tickets, or other major theme parks, our review of Undercover Tourist will help you find the best ticket prices and help plan your vacation.

What is Undercover Tourist?

Undercover Tourist is a ticket resale organization that offers deals and discounts on theme park tickets, hotels, and car rentals.

Here are some, but not all, of the ticket deals: Disney Parks, LEGOLAND parks, Universal Orlando parks, SeaWorld Orlando, Universal Studios Hollywood, and Disneyland park. They also offer attraction tickets to popular family destinations, like New York City , as well as ski resorts.

Most are a bit apprehensive about the legitimacy of Undercover Tourist or any Disney ticket reseller. Undercover Tourist is a third party seller but they are authorized sellers making this a safe and secure way to purchase your theme park tickets.

We have used them for different visits to Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando resort. It is a safe and easy process to purchase tickets and at times can save you money on your Orlando vacation.

Is Undercover Tourist Legit?

Undercover Tourist is a website that offers “authentic attraction tickets at a discounted price, as well as planning tips” for families planning Orlando vacations.

It is completely “legit” and safe. We have purchased our vacations through Undercover Tourist and have never had an issue.

We used them for our most recent vacation to Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood , and have used them for Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando numerous times. I also love using the Undercover Tourist crowd calendar to check the expected crowd levels on our visit.

january through august 2024 undercover tourist crowd calendar

As an affiliate partner with Undercover Tourist I make a small commission from sales if you click and purchase through my links. With that being said I always recommend comparing prices. Specials and deals change throughout the year and you may find a better deal directly through the website or through a travel agent. Always shop around.

Review of Undercover Tourist

Below is an example of the process of booking with Undercover Tourist for a resort stay. Prices do not reflect prices for 2024 but I wanted to show how easy the user experience is.

I have always wanted to stay at Disney’s Art of Animation but the price never really worked for us. I used Undercover Tourist vacation and car rental bundle to make our stay a reality.

When you spend a certain amount of money on hotel or tickets you receive 50% off car rentals through Undercover Tourist. This can be a huge saving making it worth staying at a resort you may not have previously consider.

Art of Animation is a value resort that is themed to different Disney animated films. We decided to use the Undercover Tourist Disney savings to price out a few nights at Art of Animation. Read our Disney’s Art of Animation Review if you are thinking about staying there.

Undercover Tourist saved us $202.51 on our hotel room alone!!

I love that there are no hidden fees when you get to your cart. The price you see is the price you get!  When booking with them you also receive deep discounts on car rentals as an added bonus.

We rented the car through them and saved over $400 on our total booking!

undercover tourist hotel

Update: This was a great deal for our family and we had a blast at Art of Animation. I highly recommend running the numbers to see if Undercover Tourist can save you money on your next Walt Disney Vacation. Prices have fluctuated a lot and I always recommend checking the website(affiliate link) for the latest ticket and hotel offers.

Undercover Tourist Tickets

If you are looking to purchase discounted theme park tickets Undercover Tourist has you covered. We didn’t need tickets for this visit but family members that were meeting us did.

They purchased Universal Orlando tickets and saved $100 off the gate ticket price. The tickets were delivered by email and can be printed at home.

Undercover Tourist has discount attraction tickets for Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, SeaWorld, LEGOLAND Florida and Los Angeles and San Diego attractions.

Typically the more days you purchase the larger the discount. I do not suggest purchasing one day tickets from Undercover Tourist because they were more than purchasing directly from the theme parks website.

FAQ’s of Undercover Tourist

Can you connect undercover tourist tickets to your my disney experience account.

One of the things I was nervous about for purchasing our Disney World tickets is if they would be connected to our MagicBands and My Disney Experience account.

I wanted to make sure all my purchases were as seamless as if I booked through the Walt Disney World website.

As soon as our reservations were booked through Undercover Tourist, I was able to connect them to my plans.

I logged into My Disney Experience and added my reservation number that I received immediately.

Complimentary MagicBands have been discontinued beginning 2020 but guests can still order them and use them in the parks.

undercover tourist hotel

Do you receive on-site perks for Disney World if you book with Undercover Tourist?

Yes. Once you add your reservation to your My Disney Experience it is the same as if you booked through them.

Is Undercover Tourist cheaper then booking through the Disney World site?

Not always. I always recommend running your dates through Undercover Tourist and Disney World to see where you will get the best deal.

This is the same for Universal Orlando and the other attractions, theme parks, and hotel deals. Check the official website and then compare it to Undercover Tourist to be sure you have the best deal.

4 Reasons Undercover Tourist is Worth It

Can save money (always compare).

I think saving money is usually a big priority when traveling with a family. When planning your Disney budget or Universal budget tickets can be a huge portion.

With Undercover Tourist you can easily compare prices from the official website with their special pricing.

As you add tickets and accommodations to your cart it automatically shows you the amount you are saving. I compared this to the Disney website and the prices were accurate.

The amount of money you save can be used to go to a great restaurant or to purchase an extra day at the park. You can even take the money you save and start a travel savings account for your next family vacation.

Tip: Always check prices on Undercover Tourist and the Walt Disney World website (or the theme park you are visiting). There are times when the theme parks are offering a better deal. I always recommend shopping around.

Easy to Use

Using Undercover Tourist website is so easy. Everything is there for you and the FAQ’s page has straightforward answers to any of your questions.

I love that all of my concerns with linking my reservations were easy to solve. During the entire process, it was easy to book and compare prices.

Works with My Disney Experience

One of the best things about visiting Walt Disney World is the magic when you are there. It is like stepping into another world.

You forget your day to day life and fall into the fun and imagination that Walt Disney World offers.

The last thing you want to worry about is finding tickets and reservation. My Disney Experience App makes it so much easier. All reservations you make on Undercover Tourist are connected and your Magic Band is connected too.

You can also easily connect your tickets and hotels to any of the major theme park apps making it an easy option.

Undercover Tourist Offers Planning Perks

Undercover Tourist offers discounted tickets to all the major Orlando theme parks as well as other attractions in the Orlando area.

Often with different promotions like buy 2, get 2 free. The tickets are then delivered to your door or printed at home. They are not voucher tickets either.

The tickets you purchase from Undercover Tourist are real tickets and are ready to be used at all the Orlando theme parks.

If you have been reading my blog you know that I love the planning process. I like being prepared when I visit the theme parks.

Undercover Tourist has easy to follow planning guides for visiting the parks. The crowd calendar will help you pick what days you should visit each park depending on the expected crowd levels.

I always use this when planning our week and it works!!

Using Undercover Tourist for our Orlando theme park vacations was a good deal. It is easy to use and seamless to connect to my Disney account. I continue to use it to check the best price and help us stay on our travel budget for all our Orlando vacations.

Overall my review of Undercover Tourist is that it is a great option for theme park tickets and should be used when it will save you over booking through the park website. It is user friendly and safe making it worth checking out when planning your next trip.

Why We Love Undercover Tourist for Disney Deals

Trying to find deals at places like Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Universal Studios and Seaworld are super hard to find and when you do find savings from internet sites, you wonder if the site is legit and trustworthy.

There are so many scams around and the last thing you want to do is jeopardize your precious family vacation with fake tickets, Timeshare presentations attached, hidden fees or being sold something that wasn’t what you wanted.

This is why most people simply pay the full price from a Travel Agent or directly from the company (Disney, Seaworld, Universal Studios etc…) just to be sure they are getting what, they want but in so doing they are missing out on some great deals on ticket prices.

But what if there was a site that could actually give you a good deal on your hotel reservations, theme park tickets and more? And what if this site had a long track record of being a trusted name as a reputable discount ticket seller, offering you and your family members some great savings on your next vacation?

Well there’s good news because there is such a place…Undercover Tourist.

Check out what's in this post!

Undercover Tourist

is undercover tourist legit

This post includes affiliate links.

Undercover Tourist is one of the few places we know of where you can get good discounts on popular theme parks including attraction tickets, hotel rooms, and many other purchases for your family vacation.  There are many reasons you ought to look into their services as you start planing your upcoming trip.

Let’s look at the reasons why Undercover Tourist is the real deal in getting discount tickets.

undercover tourist hotel

1. Undercover Tourist is an Authorized Ticket Seller

Undercover Tourist is one of the very few authorized 3rd party sellers in the World for All major theme parks, including Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland, Universal Orlando, Universal Studios Hollywood and more.

What this means is they have a direct relationship with these brands, securing the authenticity of your purchase and being enabled to help clients immediately if there is a problem.

2. Undercover Tourist Has Been Around for Over 20 Years

Starting in 2000, Undercover Tourist set out to be a source for discounted tickets, insider planning trips as well as excellent customer service and they have done just that!

We can’t stress enough how important it is to be able to communicate with the people who you are working with for your travel purchase and Undercover Tourist excels in communication.

They have an 800 number which will always direct you to a live person during business hours. Each staff person is professional, detail oriented and committed to making sure everything goes smoothly for your purchases so your vacation is without issues.

3.  Undercover Tourist is Secure

There are many reasons to feel secure in your purchases form Undercover Tourist .

  • First, they are accredited with the Better Business Bureau and have been for 21 years.
  • Secondly, they are protected and Bonded with the State of Florida which protects all purchases up to $10,000.
  • Third, they give you a satisfaction guarantee that all steps possible will be taken for a pleasant experience.
  • Finally, it is comforting to know that in our day of people writing bad reviews for every small (and sometimes big) issue, Undercover Tourist overwhelmingly has wonderful customer reviews.  Comments range from how wonderful the savings was to how great the customer service was on a purchase that needed some help.

4. Undercover Tourist is Convenient

Undercover Tourist really makes everything pretty easy when you are booking your vacation. You can choose either E-tickets or have them mailed so you have them in your hand.

If you choose mailed tickets, they have next day delivery or pick-up options.   All shipping is always free.  There are no hidden fees including any tax.

You always have a 365-day refund or return policy which is wonderful for peace of mind. As we mentioned before, they always have prompt courteous phone operators available for questions and issues that may come up.

Here are some common questions people ask about Undercover Tourist .

1. How can Undercover Tourist sell tickets with a better deal than most others?

Undercover Tourist buys tickets in large volumes from their partners and then share the savings with their customers.  This “wholesale” approach is a win win for us and them as it allows them to make money and us to save money.

2. What are some of the places Undercover Tourist sells for?

Many, many, many, but since we are all about Walt Disney World, let’s start there.  You can get tickets for almost any Walt Disney World Resort, and all of the theme park reservations including, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot, as well as individual options like Park Hoppers, Water Park tickets, and 4-Park Magic which includes 4 Walt Disney World Theme Parks tickets, and more.  From time to time special event options will be available like Mickey’s Not So Scary halloween party and Disney After Hours.

If you are a Florida resident, they have Florida Resident Disney Water Park Tickets and Florida Resident Disney Theme Park Summer Magic Tickets.  So you can see, Undercover Tourist really has all the bases covered when it comes to Walt Disney World!  In addition to Disney World, They have tickets for Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort, The Seaworld Parks (Seaworld Orlando and Seaworld San Diego), Legoland Florida Resort, Disneyland, Busch Gardens, Sesame Place, Six Flags, Cedar Fair and more.  They really excels in the Orlando area, whether it’s Orlando theme parks, or other Orlando vacation locations.

Hollywood Tower of Terror

3. Does Undercover Tourist offer other discounts?

Yes, Car Rentals in the Orlando, Los Angeles and Long Beach locations and attractions like Kennedy Space Center, Madame Tussauds Orlando, Fun Spot, Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Hollywood and so much more.

4. Are the Disney tickets we receive, the exact same ones we would get directly from Disney?

Yes. They are the exact same RFID-enabled tickets that you would get if purchased directly from Disney. Disney E-tickets must be exchanged at guest services at the theme parks for physical tickets or attached to a MagicBand.

5. Isn’t it a hassle to buy The Walt Disney tickets from a 3rd party vendor like Undercover Tourist?

Great question! We thought it might be as well but again, Undercover Tourist makes it super easy to link the items you purchase to your Disney account. It’s a simple process of taking the ticket number which is located on your physical ticket or E-ticket, which ever one you get, and you link the number on your My Disney Experience “My Reservations and Tickets” page.  It’s seriously that simple.

tree of life at Disney's animal kingdom

5. Is there any down side to using Undercover Tourist?

Not really. One thing you should be aware of is when you purchase tickets straight from Disney, you can pay a deposit up front and then pay the balance of your bill when you arrive on your Disney Vacation. When you use Undercover Tourist (or any other third party site) you will need to purchase the entire balance when you book.

6. What are the cancellation/refund policies?

We thought it would be best to share the exact wording from the Undercover tourist site in regards to cancellation/refunds:

Our confidence in purchasing takes priority, which is why we offer a 365-day Return Policy for most tickets (see each individual ticket details for full information) and use common sense and fair practices when dealing with your cancellations & refunds. If you believe you are eligible for a refund, please contact us for further shipping instructions. Once tickets have been received and verified by Undercover Tourist, we will issue a refund back to the initial form of payment according to the terms below within 15 business days.

• If you require a refund, a fee of 5% of the total order amount will be charged to cover the delivery, handling and the processing fees associated with accepting your credit card and fulfilling the order. • Refer to the specific ticket return policies on the ticket page to see if they qualify for the 365-day Return Policy. • Expired tickets, or any ticket not currently sold on this site, are non-refundable. •  Walt Disney World ® Resort and  Disneyland®  Resort tickets are refundable 365 days from order date, unless otherwise noted. Tickets may not be expired, modified or activated by entering the park. Please see specific ticket details for full eligibility. • Many tours and activities require advanced notice for a cancelation or reservation change. Please see individual descriptions for details. • Some exclusions and restrictions may apply. Please see individual ticket descriptions for refund/return policies.

7. Does Undercover Tourist offer anything else I might like?

Yes! They have a great Crowd Calendar for many of the Orlando parks, as well as an Orlando planning app and park plans.  Visit  Undercovertourist.com  and you will find tons of fun and helpful stuff along with the savings.

I’ve booked my Disney accommodation in a package with a 10-day park hopper via disney.com

I’ve since seen a lot about undercover tourist, and it appears a lot of people purchase from there to save money.

I was going to cancel my package and switch to room-rate only until I saw several negative reviews from people receiving expired tickets etc which has me second-guessing them.

Can anyone give me insight if its actually reliable and legit to be buying tickets off this site?

Do you buy your tickets via Disney direct or through Undercover Tourist?

' class=

Used them many times myself, and NEVER had any problem with tickets from them.

I would only buy from Disney directly if tickets I needed were for 3 days or less as sometimes U.T. is more expensive on those short duration ones, but for long-stay tickets, U. T. usually has better prices.

Thanks Kat,

I've just found an older thread on here and everyone who answered said it was safe, so I'm feeling more confident to go ahead with it now.

I think the expired ticket complaints were for universal tickets, which we will be going for a day - might just buy those directly as we likely won't save much for a one day ticket.

We always use Undercover Tourist, the most recent time was May this year.

They are very good and the tickets always arrive within a few days. You can sometimes get good deals such as a 2 day Park to Park ticket for Universal and IOA with a free third day.

I only use Undercover Tourist or the Disney websites to purchase my tickets and yes UT is very reliable.

undercover tourist hotel

I just don't believe that Undercover Tourist supplied expired tickets, they are reputable.

As the others have said they are reliable. We've used them a few times and never had any problems.

"I saw several negative reviews from people receiving expired tickets etc "

These reviews can be (and are very likely IMO) fake.

UCT has an exemplary record - to be fair so do a few other 3rd party resellers. In all the years I've used this forum, that handful of decent resellers have rarely, if ever, had negative stories posted.

Thanks everyone, I agree Mchaggis, it sounds like they are most probably fake reviews. Which is unfortunate for UT. If I hadn't asked on here, I would have just stayed with my original tickets and paid the higher price.

I'll go ahead and buy all my tickets through UT from now on :)

' class=

Undercover Tourist is very safe and reliable. I don't believe they sold expired tickets. There is one reason to buy direct from Disney though. We bought tix through Disney for my parents who were visiting and lost them before we used them. I was able to go to the guest services booth outside the park, and they were reissued in a second. They said if we'd bought the tix through a 3rd party they wouldn't be able to reissue them.So you should probably save the money and buy from UT and just not lose them.

Just super nervous to buy...sounds too good to be true.

ordered 4 tickets to discovery cove…

ordered 4 tickets to discovery cove via undercover tourist totaling 1071.00 dollars. the plans changed and one person couldn't make it. i called to cancel just one ticket and they said id have to reorder the 3 tickets and prove to them before they'd cancel these tickets. i asked where this policy was displayed on their website and they said "its not, its just our policy" that's illegal. i told them ill pay the 5% and just cancel the whole order and order direct from discovery cove. they said ok, two weeks later still waiting for my money, 2 more days until Ill be disputing the charges and getting my whole return back. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deal with this lot at your peril!

Wish I hadn’t used these rip off thieving clowns! Ordered tickets which were promptly sent and then so promptly cancelled while they held on to my money! Id give them minus stars but best i can do is just the one and thats one star too many! Save yourself the aggro and hassle of dealing with second rate thieves like i have. Like many others, wish id read their reviews first, in essence, its a lesson learnt! DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE GUYS at your peril, id rather have paid more for my tickets than dealing with this total shower of poo! These see you next Tuesdays have effing ruined a trip I have been planning for 2 years!

Update… I actually got the ticket the day before the show so not 48 hrs it was less than 24 hrs..Ugghhh I wish I had read these reviews first!! I am so BS right now Honestly, I wouldn’t even put a star there but you have to put a star there. I am so upset with this company I can’t even begin to explain. I wish I had done some serious research before purchasing tickets. I spent $300 for tickets in December for a comedy show in April I have a wedding coming up that I wasn’t aware about so I tried to call to get a refund which I could not do through them so therefore I tried to see if I could get my tickets so I could sell them through an online website, but apparently you don’t get your tickets up until possibly two days before the day of the show so you expect me to get my tickets two days before the show and then someone to buy tickets within two days so I’m pretty much gonna be out $300 and they were not helpful at all. They just said keep checking your email. It could be two days before I am so upset. I am pretty much out $300. I will never ever use them again .

Don’t buy concert tickets from them…

Don’t buy concert tickets from them unless you want to wait nearly two months to receive them !! They take your money fast enough but unless you call them you aren’t aware you have to wait until the ACTUAL TICKET SELLER makes contact with you . And you can’t have your money back either . Will NOT be buying anything else from them and will recommend my friends to do the same . The first guy I spoke to there was offhand with me and was very quick to tell me these tickets aren’t refundable. Plus they had a discount voucher that was on the checkout total but amazingly disappeared when I pressed pay !! As far as I’m concerned they are a rip off site . I payed with PayPal so I’m poised to open a dispute if I don’t see my tickets as I’ve been told . DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE BE WARNED

Should have read the reviews here first. Not happy with this company. Bought 4 day tickets plus options to WDW for 4 adults cost $2,635.80 (US). Thought I was getting a good deal. Now find advised on the WDW official website for the same days as $2,198.16 (US). Undercover Tourist have advised bad luck and no difference refund. Cannot recommend them.

I would give negative stars if I could

I would give negative stars if I could. I purchased Universal Studios VIP tour tickets from them and then wanted to change the time of the tour. They told me they couldn't do it and to call Universal. I called Universal and they told me that only Undercover Tourist could do it. I called UT again and they had me pay for new tickets for the time I wanted and then refunded me for the original purchase... It's now 2 days before my trip and the new tickets won't scan with the Universal app but the old ones will. Zero. Effs. Given. by UT support. They are insisting that the new tickets are valid - went through the same back-and-forth between them and Universal - and they won't do anything about it. I asked what to do if I get to Universal and my tickets don't work... they said to call them. Fingers crossed that I actually get into the park/onto my tour! I will NEVER use Undercover Tourist again.

Recently bought a Black Friday deal for sea world San Diego. Called customer service a few times on the buy one get one free ticket and was duped into buying several sets to get free tickets. Turns out their deal was no better than one provided directly on Sea World website. With my dollars, hours of call time with three different representatives I will not use their site again.

Intentionally Obtuse Customer Service

Scam company with nonexistent customer service. If you get any response from them regarding an issue, it will be something like, “I’m sorry. We don’t understand your concern. Can you please explain it to us again for the 3rd time?” Screenshots, detailed step-by-step explanations, phone conversations… Nothing works. They basically will try to wear you down until you determine that it’s no longer worth your time. Avoid this company at all costs.

We had to wait for an hour at Busch Gardens for someone to know what to do with our voucher. I gave them 3 stars since this may not be their fault but these vouchers aren’t universally recognized. We also had to wait in a line at Aquatica to get a manager to print real tickets. I would say not really worth the lower price for the worry and stress that it won’t be accepted or recognized.

Smooth experience

Bought three Disneyland tickets and it was very smooth. At first I was skeptical after reading all the bad reviews, but decided to test my luck since they offer a few bucks off. I did encounter their "validation" progress, but it was super simple - just enter the pending amount they hold on your credit card. After this was complete, I received tickets within one minutes. The tickets were valid on Disney website.

Thanks for all your help

Thanks for all your help. My money has been refunded and back in my account today after we had to get a refund on our Universal Studios tickets. Fantastic communication and reassurance during a very tricky time. We are hoping to come back to Orlando next year🤞and won't hesitate to recommend and use Undercover Tourist for our park tickets. It's not how people treat you when things are good but how they treat you when things are bad that shows their true colours. You've all been wonderful at helping us on this difficult time. Thank you once again and stay safe 💜 🐸

Horrible. Processed my transaction without security clearance. I had decided to purchase elsewhere and never completed the purchase but an hour later I got an email confirming the purchase that I never completed. I called immediately and was told after some argument and them talking to their supervisor that the refund was approved. Then a week went by with no refund so I contacted them again. They said they had to put in the request again and this time it was denied. I told them it had already been approved and to go back and listen to the first call. They said they did and it was never approved (I 100% know it was) so I asked forna copy of the recording but of course they said they can't give that to me. Because they lied and it was approved. Regardless, allowing the charge to go through in the first place without security clearance is fraud!

Very Misleading, Won’t Change Dates

Tickets are cheaper, and they advertise “90 day ticket return” and that you can use them for 365 days. BUT if you don’t read the fine print, that’s only some tickets. I tried to change our Universal Hollywood tickets to one day earlier and they absolutely refused. Very misleading (even my email at the top says 90 day return)! Never will I use them again or recommend them again!

New York City pass direct from the website has a full refund - when you purchase from them there is NO REUFND. What a scam I'd highly suggest NOT purchasing anything from them and using directly with the company vrs a third party

Simple, genuine and 1-day Disney Tix!

It's midnight in the UK 8th October 2022. I've just booked two 1-day tickets for my kids for the 18th Oct. I couldn't find 1-day tickets anywhere else (the missus and I already have long-term tickets). Wanted to book in advance because reservations were only available for the 18th and 20th for the Park we wanted and we were concerned it would become unavailable like the other dates we are in the US. UT was an Absolute doddle. Booked the tickets - paid via PayPal - got the tickets emailed to me immediately. Spoke on Chat to Louise beforehand, who allayed any fears I had before booking and was swift in her replies and helpful. I used the 12 character reference on my e-tickets to immediately make the Park reservation on the Disney site and it all went through fine. Very happy and recommend.

Disneyland ok, last minute hotel drop cost us.

The Disneyland tickets were a good deal. But the hotel never reserved properly, leaving us scrambling for a hotel and paying almost $300 more because of their system. Instead of trying to fix the issue, they kept giving a run around of "that can happen, sorry to hear, sucks to be you" replies. I found another app (Klook) that I am trying next.

Do not recommend

Horrible checkout experience with the payment verification. Finally was able to book, but when we went to check in to our hotel we learned they had cancelled our reservation despite already charging us in full for it. Had to book the hotel out of pocket at less than ideal rates. Have not received any response back from them nor a refund. Do not recommend.

Fine until you need help

The problem with undercovertourist is their inability to help when there's a problem. I wanted to change the date of a Universal ticket. Universal customer service was like, "sure, no problem, we do that all the time" until they found out that we had purchased through a travel agent (Undercover Tourist), and then they said we needed to talk to the travel agent. So I called Undercover Tourist. That person was no help: He said he could issue us new tickets for the date we wanted, and then try to cancel the existing ones, but he wasn't sure if the cancellation would succeed. I'm like I need to know that before we buy the new tickets, and he was like, no, you need to buy first and find out in about 24 hours if you paid double. I asked to talk to a supervisor. He said someone would call me in a couple hours. Nobody did. If I had bought direct through Universal, they could have helped no problem.

SCAM AND NO REFUND

I PURCHASED SOME TICKETS AND THEN GOT A BETTER DEAL IN ANOTHER PAGE, HOWEVER I'M STUCK BECAUSE I CANNOT GET A FULL REFUND, AS PROMISED, ONLY 95%.... THAT IS A TOTAL SCAM! LOL THEY COULD GIVE ME 100% IF I PURCHASED ANOTHER THING FROM THEIR SITE.
