There is a free form swimming pool and a massage centre available for some great relaxation. A clinic with a resident nurse available to guests. The camp has a fleet of 4x4 vehicles with driver guides. Our local naturalist is available to give guests free lectures and local Maasai dancers also entertain clients in the evening. For a small charge, Maasai Morans are available to take clients on game walks allowing them to walk freely enjoying the openness and beauty of the park. Only from Kilima Safari Camp can one enjoy the special experience of moonlit bush dinners. This excursion involves a night game drive and a barbecue dinner in the Amboseli plains.

It takes 278km (4 hours) drive from Nairobi via Namanga.  The park is  big  covering  3000  square km area in Kenya and across the borders of Tanzania. You can  either be in the park by road or  air  transport which takes about  240km  driving  Nairobi -arusha road through Meshanani gate and 228Km on Nairobi -mombasa road  and 45 minutes to fly from Nairobi to close airstrip amboseli .    . The camp is convenient and affordable to guests visiting the park   with its breathtaking views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and surrounding areas.

Kilima safari camp  Amboseli consists of  72 beautiful  and comfortable tents   built in African traditional  style   with modern comfort.  Rooms well decorated and furnished with privacy and tranquility.   Each room has its own private en -suite facilities like flushing toilets ,  Mosquito nets , air conditioning , Flat screen TV’s ,  hair driers  , hot/cold running showers/bathtubs etc . Rooms have verandas, sitting areas  and  private balconies with a cozy atmosphere , you relax while overlooking the beautiful  view of  mount Kilimanjaro  ,the park and animals visiting the park  . Kilima Safari Camp Amboseli is a 4-star luxurious lodge located in the area of Amboseli National Park, next to the Kimana Gate Park entrance. The camp is set out on a 420-acre site with a spectacular view of Mount Kilimanjaro. Kilima Safari Camp lies 250 km South of Nairobi (four hour drive) and is a 20-minute drive from the Amboseli Airstrip .

The Kimana area of Amboseli is famous for its large elephant population and guests can enjoy great game viewing from their tents which face the Animal water pools all public areas and guest rooms are set towards Mount Kilimanjaro.

Amboseli, meaning “salty dust” in maa, the language of the Maasai, is a place of stark contrast. The park provides the classic Hollywood image of Africa. Set in rolling savannah scenery the park is dwarfed by the presence of the pink-tinged, snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Kibo is special. This lovely gem nestled in the Amboseli National Park caters for the traveller who wants to enjoy nature in all its fullness. Their are tents as well as lodge rooms which give you a sense that you are in the wild-and still with all the proper necessities one needs e.g. hot water, mosquito nets and every tent has a veranda outside that faces Africa’s highest mountain. Was referred to the place by their Facebook page that has adequate information and I have to admit, my time there was nothing but lovely. I enjoyed the food too as well as their highly refreshing swimming pool.

“Great place to stay”

I’ve been here twice now and for good reason. The tents are roomy, well appointed, and clean. The grounds offer a few places to stretch the legs and a pool. The food is excellent and varied, and it tends to be a little busier than other camps, which I enjoy as it keeps the atmosphere lively while never feeling crowded. We happened to be there over Christmas and the festive dinners and vibe were great! Lots of fun.

How to get there.

  There are several routes to Kibo Safari Camp:

Emali Route (a 4-hour drive from Nairobi):

• Proceed on MOMBASA ROAD A109 to EMALI TOWN
• From EMALI TOWN turn right on to C102 going towards OLOITOKTOK.
• Continue for 114km on C102 to KIMANA TOWN ( please note:   passing through the Eremito gate incurs park entry fees).
• After KIMANA TOWN turn right on to C103 going to KIMANA GATE, AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK.
• Continue on C103 for 22km.
• Once at KWS KIMANA GATE turn left and drive for 1.5 km. KIBO is on the left-hand side.

Via Namanga (not advisable):

This is a 4 1/2 hour drive from Nairobi, approximately 278 kms.

It’s a 45 minutes flight from Wilson Airport landing at Amboseli Airstrip at Amboseli National Park.

Dine in the open restaurant tent overlooking the main waterhole.

Enjoy cereals, fresh fruit, and pastries along with a hot breakfast in the morning. For lunch we offer the option of a packed lunch on safari or a cooked 3-course lunch back at the camp, depending on your plans for the day. In the evening, our chef will prepare a delicious 4-course meal that can be accompanied by a selection of fine wines or a drink from the fully stocked bar.

The highly trained chefs will cater to any dietary restrictions.

Our kitchen uses locally sourced fruit and vegetables, and we grow as much seasonal items as possible in our on-site shamba (garden).

Daily fresh baked bread and pastries are enjoyed and who can resist freshly popped corn by the campfire under the stars to complete the evening!

I visited this beautiful property in the wilderness just outside the gates of Amboseli. It’s a myth that one needs to stay inside the park. I would stay at this property any day. You face Mt. Kilimanjaro and usually have elephants visit you every evening. The service is fantastic and when on safari one needs to get the full experience which is what this camp does for you. Very comfortable with excellent food. Yes! Very very highly recommended.

The name ‘Amboseli’ comes from a Maasai word meaning ‘salty dust’ and the park is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephant up close.

Located in southern Kenya near Tanzania border, the Amboseli is a 5-hour drive from both Nairobi and Mombasa. Daily flights from Nairobi, Mombasa, and Maasai Mara arrive at the paved, modern airport strip in the middle of the park.

Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Sie haben uns auf Wunsch gar einen Zimmerwechsel ermöglicht, damit wir den Ausblick auf den Kilimandscharo noch besser geniessen konnten. Am Abend gab es ein Lagerfeuer, was wir sehr genossen haben. Die Zimmer (Zelte) sind gemütlich eingerichtet und wir fühlten uns sehr wohl. Die Lage in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Nationalpark was sehr gut, auch wenn man hier nicht direkt im Park schläft. Das Essen war gut.

Die Hotelanlage ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber wird vom Personal liebevoll gepflegt. Die Lage ist ausgezeichnet und nur ca. 2 Autominuten vom Hauptgate zum Park entfernt. Die Zelte bieten viel Privatsphäre und einen tollen Blick auf den Kilimanjaro. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet und es gab jeden Tag eine andere Auswahl an leckeren Speisen, lokal wie international. Das Personal ist sehr herzlich und aufmerksam! Speziellen Dank an Dan, der uns jeden Abend persönlich bediente und die zwei Barkeeper, die uns nach den staubigen Game Drives die Dawas zubereiteten. Peter hat uns 2 Tage den Park gezeigt und uns viel über die Tierwelt im Amboseli erzählt - auch an ihn geht ein spezieller Dank! Und natürlich auch an James und seine Kollegin, die jederzeit für uns an der Réception zur verfügung standen. Asante sana!

Schöne und ruhige Gesamtlage des Camps, schöne, zweckmäßig eingerichtete Unterkunft (allerdings ohne Klimaanlage, was in heißen Monaten des Jahres zum Problem werden dürfte), außerordentlich freundliches, achtsames und kompetentes Personal. Bes. hervorzuheben: Chef Mr. Edward und Waiter Dennis Maren. Chef Edward sogte für geschmacklich hervorragende und ansprechend präsentierte Verpflegung.

Klasse Zelte und ein sehr aufmerksames, und hilfreiches Team. Die gesamte Anlage ist ein echter Hingucker. Direkt vorm Gate gelegen. Jederzeit wieder.
