No need to worry! All of our tours operate rain or shine. 🌦️ However, the safety of our guests is our top priority. If the weather is determined to be dangerous, we will contact guests as soon as possible to inform them of any changes or cancellations. We only have 3 people in our group. Can we ride in a vehicle with just our group?

Absolutely! When booking the 2-Hour UTV Raptor Tour, each vehicle is reserved for every 6 guests. However, if you have a smaller group, like your party of three, you will have your own vehicle. This way, you can enjoy the tour with just your group. 🚜🏞️

Do we stop at any locations during the tour to get out or take photos?

Yes, indeed! During our tours, there are several scenic stops where you can get out, stretch your legs, and take some beautiful photos. 📸 🏞️ However, we ask that you please be safe during the activity, especially if you're driving or using both hands.

What should we wear for the UTV Tour?

For the UTV tour, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activities. Closed-toe shoes are required for safety reasons. 🚜👟 Please be aware that the tour can get a bit dusty or muddy depending on the weather, so it's a good idea to wear something you don't mind getting a little dirty.

We did the 2 hour UTV Raptor tour and it was one of the best things we did on our Oahu vacation. Driving our own Raptor was so much fun and the views we drove by were absolutely spectacular. Our guides Matthew and Vaughan heightened our experience with great stories and history about the ranch and filming locations. This is a MUST VISIT when you come to Oahu, just make sure you book the tours at least a couple weeks in advance as they fill up quickly!

Did the UTV tour with our kids and we had a great time. The guides were super friendly and made it a lot of fun. Lots of great facts about the land, Hawaiian culture, and of course all the movies. The took some funny pictures for us as well. You definitely get dusty and a bit dirty but it is well worth it. There are bathrooms and some food onsite. Highly recommended!

You must check in 15 minutes before the start of your tour. For example, if your tour starts at 9:00 am you must be at the park at 8:45 am ready to start. No refunds will be issued for those who miss the tour or are late.

All participants must sign this waiver before participation.

• Drivers are responsible for damages or injuries, so please drive safely.
• All drivers must be over 18 years old with a valid driver’s license to drive.
• Anyone under 18 without a license can ride as a passenger but must have an adult-paid driver with them.
• Our ATVs are two-seaters, so you will share your ATV with another person. 
• If you have an odd number in your group or want to have an ATV to yourself, you will need to pay the ATV single supplement fee when booking. If you don’t pay this supplement at booking, you will be charged at check-in. 
• At check-in, each driver will be charged a refundable $100 damage deposit on their credit card, returned at the end of the tour.

Requirements

• 18 years old to drive with a driver's license, 6 years old to ride as a passenger. Every passenger must be with an adult driver. (You cannot sign up for this tour as a passenger only.)
• Maximum Weight: 275 lbs. You will be weighed at check-in. If you are over the weight limit you will not be allowed to participate and no refunds will be issued.
• Maximum Height: ~ 6’4″. Those over this height may be cramped and uncomfortable.

• Securable, close-toed shoes are required. Athletic shoes are recommended. (We do offer a limited number of water shoes to purchase)
• No participant on the ATV tour is permitted to use any other gear (helmet, harness, trolley, etc.) besides that which is provided by Coral Crater.
• We do not recommend participation with pre-existing injuries, back, neck, or heart issues. Please consult your doctor if you are unsure whether this activity is suitable for you.
• If you are pregnant congratulations but, unfortunately, you cannot participate in this tour.
• This is an outdoor adventure activity and operates in all weather conditions.
• Tour durations are averages and vary due to group size and individual speeds.
• If you choose to opt out of this activity at check-in or during the activity, you are not eligible for a refund.

Frequently asked questions, do i get a refund if i crash an atv.

No. Most definitely not. If you drive responsibly, you will not crash an ATV. If you drive recklessly, you will be removed from the tour. If you crash before your guide can remove you from the tour, you will be responsible for all damage to the vehicle and will not be refunded the cost of your tour.

What’s the difference between the 2-Seater ATVs and the Stand-Up ATVs?

The 2-Seater ATVs are four-wheel vehicles that drive like cars and are what you probably think of when you think about ATVs. The EzRaider Stand-Up ATVs are more like heavy-duty motorized scooters. They are e-vehicles made for one person to operate and are constructed to military-grade specifications. 

Do I tip my guide?

As with any tour or service, it is customary to tip your guides if you are pleased with your service. Typically, 10-15% gratuity is adequate. Guides accept cash, Venmo, PayPal or Cash App for gratuity. Coral Crater does not accept tips on behalf of guides.

What is your cancellation policy?

Bookings canceled with 24 or more hours notice are refunded in full. Any reservation canceled with less than 24 hours notice will not be refunded.

Do you have lockers to store stuff?

Yes, we do! All lockers are digital, so no need to carry keys during your activity. The largest locker can fit a large suitcase. Locker payments are taken by credit card only at the kiosk, but if you only have cash, you can rent a locker at the gift shop and the staff will open it for you. Rates start at $5 for two hours use of the small lockers.

How safe are the activities at Coral Crater?

Our courses surpass the Association for Challenge Course (ACCT) standards and pre-use inspections on both the safety equipment and course occur daily. Extensive training for our guides is provided by Synergo, a Professional Vendor Member (PVM) of the ACCT. Synergo also completes our periodic course inspections. As with all activities, there are inherent risks associated with Zipline , the Adventure Tower , and off-road ATVs .

What a fun experience this was!! My new wife and I came to Kauai for our honeymoon and knew this was something we wanted to do, but Jordan and Ian made it so much better then we expected. The birth of Paiʻea was preceded by omens foretelling the birth of a rebel and killer of chiefs. To protect his rule, the King of Hawaii dispatched warriors to kill the child. But the people of Kohala spirited the newborn away and hid him at ʻĀwini, in the heart of the mighty canyons of Kohala. Safely hidden away in ʻĀwini, Paiʻea would survive to fulfill the prophecies and become the warrior king,  Kamehameha the Great .

Inspired by this tale of escape,  Kauholo  — composed and performed by Kohala’s Grammy Award Winning artist John Keawe — celebrates the ingenuity and perseverance of the future king’s rescuers as they raced across Kohala, at times just steps away from their pursuers. Hope and sanctuary awaited them, if they can make it to ʻĀwini.

The Rugged Backcountry of North Kohala , with its impenetrable forests and precipitous valleys, has served as a refuge and battleground for centuries. Powerful chiefs battling to control the island would time and again find themselves stymied by the treacherous terrain as they sought to defeat rebels who had escaped to the deep canyons. Before achieving what no other had achieved before him – conquering and uniting all the islands – even Kamehameha The Great sought protection here. To this day, these forests provide, for a select few, escape from the daily “battles” of life. A chance to regroup, recuperate, and reemerge…ready to battle anew.

• Guests are required to wear secure close-toed shoes like sneakers or hiking boots, and be sure to wear clothes that you do not mind getting dirty since the trails can be quite dusty, and during the rainy season, muddy as well.
• You will want to bring a change of clothes with you since your clothing may get dusty or muddy depending on the season. Guests who are using a rental vehicle will definitely want to change since the dust and dirt could stain the vehicle's upholstery.
• ATV and off-road tours are one of the most popular activities on the Maui, and are often sold out weeks ahead. Be sure to book in advance to secure your reservation.
• Bring a bottle of water with you since you will be out on open trails for the duration of the tour, and water is not guaranteed while out on an ATV trail.

Be prepared to get dusty and dirty, but overall this was our favorite event on Maui!!

My husband and I had a great time! The views from the top of the mountain trails were spectacular. Our guides were very helpful and made sure we had a fun and safe ride. We ended up being 2 hours early for our reservatio ... more n and Maui Mountain were able to fit us in with the earlier tour. They were so nice and this was a highlight of out trip. My advice to anyone planning to ride is be prepared to get dirty and covered in red dirt, but it’s worth it. Also follow the instructions on how to get back to the main road when your ride is finished. We took a wrong turn and ended up lost for a bit on a one lane road. Had to back our way out.

Visited Kipu Ranch and did the 3-hour tour with my husband and 11-year-old daughter. We had a blast and very much enjoyed the stories told by our guide, Justin, whenever we stopped along the tour. I would recommend this to anyone, very safe and fun if you follow directions. The banana bread as a snack was homemade and amazing!!

Troy and Giggles were our guides and did an excellent job of showing the group how to drive the UTVs properly over the terrain. They shared some Hawaiian history and pointed out famous movie scenes that were filmed on the ranch, we were also treated to some great views of the island that you wouldn't otherwise see!

What a way to check out the private ranch where a couple of movies were shot. Our tour guides were very informative and funny. The test drive session they gave made us comfortable with the ATVs, which were well maintained and took on the most rugged surfaces with ease. The locations were beautiful!

We LOVED our waterfall tour with Kipu Ranch! Our tour guides were amazing! Loved the stories about the ranch, the movies made there, and the history of the island. Tons of drive time and great trails. Our six person atv was perfect for our family of five! We did this on the last day of our trip and it was the perfect way to finish the trip!
