Hello everyone. I read different topics on this forum and didn't find why I have problems, that's why I really hope finding a solution here... - The previous owner (audi TT 2016 2.0L quattro petrol) bought so many options but not a CCS . - I changed my steering column with another Audi TT steering col. with the CSS (see attached pictures). - the first step: coding the module 16 with the option CCS (as written on topics), doesn't create any issue. It is recognized and I checked thanks to VCDS : all switches work. Starting my engine: everything works: ESP, start/stop, ...but not the CCS of course! - the second step : coding the module 1 with the option CCS (as written on topics) create issues : fault on the module 1 itself and another one the module 3 (brakes). Starting my engine: some failures like ESP, start/stop, and CCS .. I didn't read anything regarding a third step : coding something in order to have my CCS working... Do you have any idea ? And do you know why on the engine fault description: it is written " ACC variants (coding): CCS " and later on " ACC variants: ACC " ? Please find logs (engine, brakes and steering col.) : Address 01: Engine (J623-CHHC) Labels:. 06K-907-425-V1.clb Code: Part No SW: 8S0 906 259 HW: 06K 907 425 B Component: 2.0l R4 TFSI H13 0005 Revision: --H13--- CVN: 607677F8 Coding: 0A1D00324426010B3002 Shop #: WSC 06385 790 00016 ASAM Dataset: EV_ECM20TFS0208S0906259 001006 ROD: EV_ECM20TFS0208S0906259.rod VCID: 7AADFC7B2C5BF57B81B-802E VINID: 92296AAAA5A615704004824414086402FC 1 Fault Found: 17169 - Check Coding of ECUs on Powertrain Data Bus P1647 00 [167] - - MIL ON - Not Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear Freeze Frame: Fault Status: 00000001 Fault Priority: 2 Fault Frequency: 1 Mileage: 61477 km Date: 2022.05.26 Time: 12:14:05 Engine RPM: 0.00 /min Normed load value: 0.0 % Vehicle speed: 0 km/h Coolant temperature: 51 °C Intake air temperature: 27 °C Ambient air pressure: 1010 mbar Voltage terminal 30: 11.972 V Unlearning counter according OBD: 40 ACC variants (coding): CCS CCS Switch: CCS operating unit Cruise control switch actuation-Main switch: Not operated Cruise control switch actuation-Set: Not operated Cruise control switch actuation-Resume: Not operated Cruise control switch actuation-Status: OK Cruise control switch actuation-Accelerate: Not operated Cruise control switch actuation-DELAY: Not operated Cruise control switch actuation-Cancel: Not operated Cruise control switch actuation-Main switch hardware: operated Cruise control switch actuation-Coding: plausible Cruise control switch actuation-Limit function: not selected Cruise control switch actuation-Limit button: Not operated Cruise control switch actuation-Main switch CAN: operated Cruise control switch actuation-Large increment: Not operated Cruise control switch actuation-Control component verified: Yes ACC variants: ACC Engine: operating status: ES Address 03: ABS Brakes (J104) Labels: 5Q0-907-379-IPB-V1.clb Code: Part No SW: 8S0 907 379 D HW: 8S0 907 379 D Component: ESC H42 0522 Revision: 00000000 Serial number: 62825000000111 Coding: 32AA608D0A9A15B1409A0068C296830EA34C0650A8020043C170C5 Shop #: WSC 06385 790 00016 ASAM Dataset: EV_Brake1UDSContiMK100IPB 060016 ROD: EV_Brake1UDSContiMK100IPB_060.rod VCID: 42DD449B040B7DBB99B-8016 1 Fault Found: 8314 - Check Coding of ECUs on Powertrain Data Bus P1647 00 [008] - - [FCAN: Coding of ESP and TSK does not fit together] Intermittent - Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear Freeze Frame: Fault Status: 00000001 Fault Priority: 6 Fault Frequency: 4 Reset counter: 5 Mileage: 61477 km Date: 2022.05.26 Time: 12:11:15 Address 16: Steering wheel (J527) Labels:| 5Q0-953-549.clb Part No SW: 8S0 907 129 AL HW: 8S0 907 129 AL Component: Lenks. I am not sure if SwaP is used on this Model. But try this Coding for 03- ABS : 32AA608D0A9A15B1409A0068C296930EA34C0650A8020043C970C5 Also look for these measurement values in Engine, IDE07598 and IDE07599

You post picture of Engine Adaptation values, look at measurement values. Do you have wiring diagram , there is probably wire that need to be connected from steering switch to engine controller.

Top thread, don't think I would have tackled it without it. How can you tell if you need the control wire tho....? Bit late if I need it now, its all boxed back up haha.

Thank you very much. Very good guide. The steering wheel control module still got me. That clip just didn't want to unclip. It definitely unclips to the left. I would use a 1.5mm Alan key, push all the way in, push the Alan key to the right, so the end in the slot pushes to the left, against the clip and slowly pull back until you find the clip. The rear clip needs to be released first. I held this clip open while fiddling with the front clip. In the end I actually removed the circuit board from underneath; being very careful not to touch any of the circuitry, revealing and giving very easy access to the stubborn clip The back left clip of the circuit board is obscured by the lock housing. A little electrical screwdriver is enough to gently prize the clip off. Also, don't pull out the leatherette when removing the top cover. It is really fiddly to get it back in. In the end my GF's nimble fingers where required. LOL. I didn’t bother stopping the steering angle sensor moving. 10 yards down the road the ESP and steering wheel light went out. As far as programming goes, I had to enable 01-Engine. My car has the long coding version so it was bit-6 = 01 and then on module 16-steering wheel, short coding, 6[SUP]th[/SUP] bit from 1 (onboard computer, W/O CCS) to 4 (onboard computer, with CCS). As far as the road test went, I think the steering wheel module (1K0 953 349 F) must be thinking it is a 4-position CCS stalk, similar to a Golf as it does not function as expected. There is no speed display in the dash (I don’t know if an A3 has this the new TT does), but this might be the dash version, only the little yellow dial lights up on the dash. On the CCS stalk: On Forward (click 1) Engage Forward (click 2) Speed + Up Speed - Down Disengage Back (1) Resume Forward (click1) + Up HTH

MrLapou

I've just yesterday installed CC. MY2009 A3. Set speed dial with arrow and speed in digits comes up in the DIS then disappears when set, plus a green dial appears in the warning light area and stays on while CC activated/in use.

Installed cc on my 2008 a3 the other day but it's being coded Saturday, I forgot all about the extra wire in the box, is there any way I can ind out if I need it without taking it all apart again? Lol don't want to get to the garage to find out I need it lol

Ok had the cruise control coded but sadly it still doesn't work so I'm presuming it need to fit the wire, has anyone got any pics of where the control wire has to go? I presume it's steering wheel off again time?

Who coded it for you mate? You definitely have the wire but if you want to check, then you need to remove your wheel, airbag and lower cowling. Check the black connector on the back of steering ecu, Pin13, if there is a wire in there then you have it in place. I am guessing it has not been coded properly. When the engine module is coded you need to turn the ignition off for a least 30 seconds otherwise it will not be stored. Quick question, does your car have the trip computer?

A lad at midland vow, he's actually a memeron here as well, I saw him go onto the cruise control setting and change the code to the correct one and I believe he's done it before a swell, yeah I have the trip computer, where does the other end of the wire go. Thanks

jasonc

There are 2 different places that it has to be coded before it will work. From memory one location was fairly obvious (I think under steering module) and the other took a bit of tracking down - in the Engine module I think.

Hmmm sounds fun then lol

Thread bump, im in the process of doing this right now and have hit a bit of a niggle. My cars a prefaclift so i need the extra wire which is fine but how the hell do you get the blue connector block out? ive found it which was a pig but getting it out to beth the wire in seems impossible!

To get to the blue connector you need go from the engine bay. Take wipers off, then scuttle panel out, use wd40 and spray around joint with windscreen then carefully prise scuttle panel up with a screw driver, carefully work along and it will pop out. Take winscreen motor out. Next 3 bolts to take panel beneath out and move out of along loom. You will see blue connector in a plastic panel below. Slide locking strip to the right and unplug the three connectors. The blue connector can now be removed along with the plastic panel. Withdraw the red locking strip in the plug and you can install the repair wire in slot 4. make sure you get teh pin the right way round. Easy!!! now refitting is just reverse. To get easier access from the inside remove the driver side shelf under the steering colomn and take out the relay panel. You may have read about pushing the wire in from the back with pliers but that could **** it up. Hope that helps.

Did this a few days ago using the guide - seemed daunting but actually was easier than I thought. One addition you might want to do is before removing the steering wheel I made a mark on back of the wheel that lined up with the join of the upper and lower steering column cowls. This meant that if the slip ring moved (which it did) I had a reference point for lining up the steering wheel when refitting.

ACC Adaptive crouise control on MK3

  • Add to quote

J400uk

It was never offered on these sadly! Was something I always wanted too as my Mk7 Golf GTD had it fitted and it was excellent

The radar needed to make this possible has never been offered on the TT. It's possible that it may be offered on the revamped 2019 MK3 as the lack of it means that the TT gets a lower safety score due to it's lack of anti collision capability. If it is offered on the 2019 model, it's unlikely to be backwards compatible.

I saw that on my (my 2017) mk3 via VCDC in some ECUs there is the wording "ACC" selectable. For Ex, A3 radar isn't compatible with our ECU's? I saw that TT rs 2018 has the AAC. Do you know something?

Have never seen Adaptive Cruise Control offered on a TT, RS or not. There was talk of a retrofit being possible on the S3 but the list of parts and work required was economically unviable. I personally wouldn't want to rely on something like this unless it was properly calibrated. It would make sense for this option to make it into the facelift model as the old model has an advanced safety rating of 64% relying on old braking technology to get that. This is the reason the TT only has 4 stars. Cars with 5 stars like the A3 and competitors have scores in the mid 80s due to radar/camera based anti collision features. The same technology that it used to provide ACC.
