Routes CRUISING

Most of our cruising takes place within the Bodrum-Göcek route and we can of course stop by the Greek Dodecanese islands.

As a general guide, we start in the south in late spring/early summer, go north during the hot summer months and then return back to the south in fall for maximum comfort.

May until 15 June, from 15 September until the second week of November : Göcek

May until the end of June, September until the first week of November : Marmaris

Mid-June, July, August : Bodrum-Marmaris route including Gökova and Hisarönü

Turkey has a very strong service sector and Turkish marinas offer unmatched services. Bodrum has three world-class marinas as well as an international airport and a top private hospital.

Yalıkavak lies to the north of Bodrum Peninsula and was recently chosen as the Best SuperYacht Marina in the world by the British Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA). It offers top-end dining, shopping and night-life. As one may expect, it is very comfortable, safe for kids, allows one to socialize or entertain guests. We can make day trips as short as five minutes to reach nearby beaches.

Turgutreis is the second marina overlooking Kalimnos and is preferred by locals and it features a nice shopping mall.

Bodrum Marina , located at the town center is a legendary institution of Bodrum active twelve months.

Another local marina is Gökova Ören Marina which is located outside Bodrum within the Gökova bay.

Marmaris Netsel Marina is where M/Y Katerina is located. This marina is located in a naturally secluded area and offers very good technical services because Marmaris was previously a NATO base.

Göcek D-Marin in Göcek is more than a marina and feels like a semi-tropical resort. If a trip to a tropical island is too far for you, consider coming to Göcek and staying at D-Marin.

Bodrum - Gokova - Bodrum Blue Voyage

  • Cruise duration: 7 Nights - 8 Days
  • Embarkment: Bodrum Port
  • Disembarkment: Bodrum Port
  • Departure Days: Every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday

BLUE VOYAGE Day 1:

Boarding the boat in Bodrum, we enjoy a welcome drink. A short briefing from the captain ensures everyone is familiar with the boat and what we will do during the week to come. We settle in and have dinner aboard, in the harbor.

BLUE VOYAGE Day 2:

Our first cruise takes us to Orak Island, just south of Bodrum. Here, we swim, rest or have the opportunity to visit the ruins of Byzantine village. After lunch, we cruise to Cokertme Bay - a spectacular anchorage. Dinner and overnight in Cokertme.

After breakfast, we depart for Seven Islands, a cruise of just over one hour. In the afternoon, we cruise to our overnight anchorage on the eastern side of English Port. This spot is known locally as English Harbor, as British torpedo boats hid here during World War II. We spend much of our time here swimming, snorkeling and windsurfing.

BLUE VOYAGE Day 4:

Sailing to Sedir Island (Cleopatra island), the site of ancient Cedrae. For those who wish to explore the ruins ashore and take a swim at Cleopatra beach (the sand was reputedly brought here from Africa especially for Cleopatra), there is an option to do just this. Then our boat will sail to Karacasogut village for Dinner and an overnight stay in Karacasogut, a small village only 25 minutes from Marmaris. For those who wish to spend a night out in Marmaris, a minibus service departs from the town centre.

Morning swims will become part of your daily regime! We cruise mid-morning to Longoz Bay, a pine-forested lunch stop. The next stop will be Tuzla Bay. Dinner and overnight on board. You may take a walk through the shore by the pine forest in the night.

BLUE VOYAGE Day 6:

After cruising the to the northern side of the gulf, we stop for lunch and a swim at Kargili, a small bay set at the foot of a huge mountain. Continuing our journey in the afternoon, we arrive at our last stop for the day at Kisekbuku.

BLUE VOYAGE Day 7:

After breakfast, we sail thru Pabuc and Yaliciftlik with swimming stops in crystal clear waters. Tonight we enjoy a farewell dinner together at the Bodrum Port.

BLUE VOYAGE Day 8:

After having breakfast in Bodrum, you will leave the Gulet with best wishes to see you again and a pleasant journey homeward.

BLUE CRUISE

blue voyage bodrum

The "Blue Cruise"; exploring the beautiful unspoilt coastline of south-west Turkey by a traditional Turkish wooden yacht (gulet) is a magical experience.

The concept of the "Blue Cruise" is attributable to one of Turkey's most beloved literary figures Cevat ?akir KABAA?ALI. Cevat ?akir, known as the "Fisherman of Halicarnassus", was exiled to Bodrum in 1962 because of his political beliefs. He became enamored with his surroundings and, ever intellectually curious, began to investigate Bodrum's cultural history. He rented a sponge diver's boat called the "Yata?an" and set out on an adventure to rediscover the Aegean coasts of Turkey immortalized in Homer. Thus the "Blue Cruise" was born.

The experience of a Blue Voyage can be a time to rejuvenate the spirit while you discover and experience the nature. It can be a spiritual adventure as well as a worldly one.If you are a history lover, the Blue Voyage can take you to the wealth and power of bygone civilisations and ancient cultures. Visit the private beach of Cleopatra, eternal fires of mount Olympos, Myria Rock Tombs, archaeological remains of ancient civilisations on land and under the sea around Fethiye is a unique experience.

On a Blue Voyage, you can leave behind the world of routines imposed on you by modern life and responsibilities. Most of us live out our lives in large cities where the city lights dull the brightness of the stars. On a Blue Voyage, while you lay out on deck at night, you can see all the stars as you hear and feel the lapping of the water against your boat. In the rush of city life it is possible to loose perspective on the value of health, rest, and relaxation.

One a Blue Voyage, everything you hear, smell, taste, see, feel, and live can excite the mind and bring peace to the soul. If your voyage coincides with the full moon you will be astounded by the it`s size and magnificence lighting up the night sky. Slipping into the dark water for a night swim after a hot day can be a treat of it`s own. The peaceful quiet waters will cool you down for a restful and healthful night`s sleep. Snorkeling along the brilliant coastlines together with fish of many colours is another treat everyone can enjoy. After a week or two afloat in this scenic wonderland, everyone finds their own treasures and gifts and will have many opportunities to revel in our healthy and happy environment.

Bodrum: the most glamorous hangout in the Mediterranean

By Laura Fowler

Bodrum the most glamorous beach hangout in the Mediterranean

The afternoon sun slants low, hazy as a dream, and paints the water gold. Out in the stillness of the bay a group of girls and boys swim, heads slick as seals, their laughter skipping over the sea like a song. It is known as the Turquoise Coast but here, where the Aegean meets the Mediterranean , the colour of the sea is capricious as the shifting sky.

Bodrum the most glamorous beach hangout in the Mediterranean

The sea informs everything in Bodrum . This place only really makes sense from the water. Turkey’s jagged south-west does not lend itself to sweeping corniches, its evergreen peninsulas stretching out into the inky waters towards the Greek islands a couple of miles away. Its seafaring people lived around its edges, in disconnected fishing villages which, even now on Bodrum’s sleepier neighbours of Bozburun and Datça , are only accessible from the sea. Well-groomed Bodrum also keeps secrets: fragments of islands too small to name, hidden coves where you drop anchor to swim in lagoons or come ashore for lunch at beach restaurants.

Bodrum’s stars aligned almost 100 years ago when a writer – an aristocrat from Istanbul called Cevat Sakir Kabaa˘gaçli – was exiled here for three years. In a hut! On a beach! He fell in love, of course, and stayed for three decades. The local sponge divers showed him the underwater treasures. As the Fisherman of Halicarnassus, he wrote about Homer’s land of eternal blue with its submerged cities, its imprints of Greeks and Romans, of saints and apostles, of Antony and Cleopatra. His idea of the Blue Voyage brought all Istanbul society to Bodrum, to spend summers sailing gulets along the fragrant coast.

In the 1970s Bodrum emerged as the most glamorous spot in Turkey. And now, in pale-mineral Göltürkbükü bay, the waterside decks shine with oiled limbs lying cheek by jowl like a backgammon board. Hard to believe that a couple of years ago Europeans and Americans had all but stopped holidaying on the Turkish Riviera. It hasn’t taken long to recover. ‘People have short memories when the offering is this good,’ says Sahir Erozan, the owner of the hotel Maçakizi, surveying all the buzz and beauty with a fiendish grin.

It’s true. Bodrum was back with a bang in 2019, booming like never before, all aflutter with sleek openings which manicured great swathes of the peninsula into next-level hotels. Old favourites have been revived; Nicolas Sarkozy was among those holing up in the sexy and secluded Amanruya. The enlarged Yalikavak Marina is deep and glitzy enough to accommodate superyachts with Monets and Rothkos on board.

Among the newcomers is the Bodrum Edition, importing Ian Schrager’s trademark all-white minimalism and knock-out proportions, along with the star chef Diego Muñoz from Peru, soft sand on the beach where children splash about on paddleboards, and Balearic house music. Its bar, Discetto, has a giant pink disco ball.

Bodrum the most glamorous beach hangout in the Mediterranean

Across the water on the mainland, an altogether more grown-up crowd drink cocktails from copper cups at Kaplankaya’s Anhinga beach bar. Rising up from the shore into a scrub of pistachio and olive trees, Kaplankaya is not just a hotel , but an entire new town: a turbo- smart hideout on a wildly ambitious scale, with one modernist Six Senses hotel and destination spa , and three more hotels in the offing (Cheval Blanc is confirmed) plus a marina by Foster & Partners.

Kaplankaya’s creator, Burak Oymen, spent hot, happy summers here as a child in the 1980s, his parents part of that Turkish intelligentsia lured by the Fisherman’s tales. Like Bodrum, Burak grew up and made his fortune; and with it bought a stretch of empty land. ‘I wanted to recreate the Bodrum of my childhood,’ he says. Such is the power of nostalgia. It started simply, he and his girl Tereza living in a beach hut, not in exile but in love. If they wanted civilisation, they took their boat across the bay for lunch at Maçakizi, the trade winds in their sails.

Bodrum the most glamorous beach hangout in the Mediterranean

Maçakizi has encapsulated the spirit of Bodrum since it was opened in 1975 by Sahir Erozan’s mother. It is authentically Turkish yet completely international, pretty yet progressive, barefoot and sexy as hell. Whitewashed suites tumble down the hillside among oleander and palms; then deck after deck for eating and drinking and dancing, all the way to the sea. Sahir is invariably found in the thick of things, telling stories. He throws the kind of parties that get out of hand. ‘You know – you tell two girls, they tell 88 people.’ Guests waft around, brown skinned and beautiful with absurdly tiny waists. Kate Moss, so the story goes, checked out of nearby detox retreat LifeCo early and came straight to Maçakizi.

People dance here all hours of the day, ebbing and flowing with the rhythm of the tides. It looks artfully effortless, but don’t be fooled: this is a slick operation. Sahir spends his winters travelling the world for inspiration and rebuilding – last year adding a new beach club and state-of-the-art outdoor kitchen.

Bodrum the most glamorous beach hangout in the Mediterranean

‘Good, simple food like my mama used to make,’ insists Sahir, when the dishes arrive. His mother – whose picture is in every room – must be a sensation in the kitchen , because this is no down-home cooking; it is accomplished and worldly wise, joy after jewel-coloured joy. Chargrilled octopus, its fat tentacle curled into a question mark, suckers like trumpet keys, comes with lentil cream and coconut vinaigrette. There’s sunchoke and purslane, roasted aubergine and stuffed vine leaves, and heavenly salads with spice.

Forget your plans. Lunch lasts all afternoon. By the end of it I am three hours late and three too many sheets to the wind to drive wherever it was I was supposed to be going. What fool drives here, anyway? ‘The important thing is never to stop at stop signs,’ says Sahir. ‘Because if you do the person behind will crash into the back of you.’ Luckily, Sahir has a boat. Someone in Bodrum always has a boat.

Bodrum the most glamorous beach hangout in the Mediterranean

Like the sponge divers of Bodrum past, restaurant owner Çağlar Bozçağa still swims for his supper. Even this morning, with a broken leg, he slipped off the plaster cast to free-dive 25 metres down and pluck urchins from the sea bed as though it were an underwater larder. Whatever he does not slice open and eat raw for lunch on his boat, he serves in his restaurant, Orfoz. It is found on an unlikely side street of Bodrum City, where bergamot trees planted by the Fisherman of Halicarnassus shade the whitewashed buildings, next to a statue of the cross-dressing singer Zeki Müren. Beneath the bougainvillaea Caglar is clattering around on crutches, balancing plates of meze and pouring homemade wine from bottles scribbled with ‘Chardonnay’ and ‘Shiraz’ in marker pen.

It all looks unassuming, but what he serves is a bold adventure in seafood . Grouper soup is followed by morsels of house-smoked eel; oysters grilled with Parmesan; stone crab and sea snails and huge clams in their shells, sweetness in saltwater. The grand finale is testing: mantis-shrimp ceviche. Caglar is particularly delighted by these semi-opaque götügöz (ghosts), which he gleefully calls ‘eyes on arse’. People who lustily slurp down oysters should try raw mantis-shrimp ceviche. I manage a head or an arse, I can’t tell which; then sink a glass of biodynamic white in a rush. It is made in a tiny local vineyard called Neferiye. The hand-labelled bottles may hint at moonshine, but the wine is good, clean and sweet; as Caglar points out, ‘They’ve been making wine in Bodrum since 2000bc.’

Homegrown and home-cooked is not a trend here, but an eternal way of life. At the peninsula’s quiet tip, Gümüslük’s sheltered shore is lined with rustic restaurant tables set literally in the water (in-the-know Turks head for Mimoza, the best of them), so you can cool your toes while you eat what the fishing boats hauled in that morning. Hidden in the hills above, bohemian Limon is possibly the best sunset spot anywhere, a patched-together outdoor café with bright-painted sculptures among the mismatched vintage furniture, and festoon lighting strung tree to tree, serving seasonal dishes and mama’s legendary mint lemonade. Nearby, grass-rootsy Adali Kafe opened in summer 2018: blue views on a cool hillside, where the family pour local Vin Bodrum and grow their own tomatoes.

Bodrum the most glamorous beach hangout in the Mediterranean

Turks, like Italians, can talk about tomatoes for hours. In Bodrum the pink ones are the sweetest; seek them out in the market, where the sellers tease with scoops of stardust, offering them up to my lips to taste and leaving the scent in my hair and on my skin. People still shop like this here. Testing the firmness of fruit and swapping cookery tips. Around the periphery, old men sit in the shade beneath strings of dried chillies ( pictured above ), smoking like mad and drinking sweet black tea, and playing okey (rummikub with Turkish rules), the tiles rattling in their hands like pebbles in a jar.

Old and new swim together in Bodrum. As the muezzin calls at dawn, young things are swaying home, the night finally over. Out to sea, a gulet cuts across the water, its prow thrusting sharp as a sailfish. There’s a softness to the early-morning light that’s something close to nostalgia for this very moment, even as it happens. And it is easy to see how, despite all Bodrum’s newfound glossiness, you can fall in love with the simple life here. Just as long as there is good food to eat and good wine to drink, and someone has a boat.

8 Off-the-radar addresses

1. Havva Ana in the quiet village of Gökçebel is a true farm-to-fork breakfast spot. It pulls in urbanites from Ankara and Istanbul for hot börek (flaky pastry filled with vegetables), sweet cherry jam, fried eggs with peppers, and urns of red-tinted Turkish tea. The sheep, chickens and cow in the neighbouring field support the whole endeavour.

2. Akyarlar Bay’s pale turquoise water makes it one of the loveliest places to go for a morning swim. Its sandy beach is backed by whitewashed houses and a handful of seafood restaurants that line the harbour.

3. For underwater action, take a gulet out to Orak Island, which is great for both shallow and deep-sea divers, with an incredible vertical reef wall that descends nearly 80 metres.

4. Windsurfers make a beeline for Bitez beach; the calm bay keeps beginners busy in the morning and then the breeze picks up later in the day for the pros.

5. Monochrome-modern Vamos in Bitez village gets packed out at lunchtime for its burrata salads and pizzas in the mandarin- and lemon tree-filled garden. There’s a market somewhere on the peninsula every day.

6. The ones in Bodrum and Turgutreis are well known, but savvy shoppers head to Ortakent or Gündo˘gan for amazing cheeses, fresh honey and homemade soaps. The best leather bags and shoes are found at Tuskany in Bodrum town; the owner Shafak will negotiate a decent discount if you ask nicely.

7. Supper at beachside Ayana Mes still feels like a secret. Even in Bodrum’s crazy high summer the tables on the sand are taken up almost entirely by locals feasting on meze, grilled octopus, stuffed pumpkin flowers and a speciality of boiled cockerel.

8. And for a nightcap, Fenix in Yalikavak serves up citrussy cocktails. By Ashley Pearson

Where to stay

Mandarin Oriental Bodrum

MANDARIN ORIENTAL, BODRUM

Glamorous on the outside, with swathes of powdery sand and elegant restaurants, and spacious on the inside, with brave colour accents and giant bedrooms, this is a revved-up, starry beach base. But despite the grown-up good looks, families need not panic: all ages are welcome and children will love the buzzy kids’ club. The spa is also worth the trip – a little bit Japanese, a little bit Balinese – with bonsai trees and mini teapots of fresh ginger infusions, plus a lovely indoor pool and steam rooms. For all its grandeur, the space remains intimate, with staff injecting a lot of heart into everything they do. A winner for those seeking bold design along with detail-obsessed service.

Maxx Royal Kemer Resort

MAXX ROYAL KEMER, ANTALYA

Combining the giddy otherworldliness of a smart members’ club – marble architecture, cathedral-high lobby – with a distinct feeling of seclusion, this hotel faces out to the coastline but backs onto Beydağlari Coastal National Park’s craggy mountains and ruins including Termessos, pictured. Highlights range from the whimsical – a chocolatier station, a campervan bar – to the wonderfully over-the-top, with three beaches and bathrooms stocked with Bottega Veneta products. There’s a chilled-but-sceney vibe as well as an unmistakable sense of place, from the black tea with baklava and the disarmingly good rustic lahmacun flatbread to the sound of cicadas and scent of pine.

One of the Mediterranean’s most blissful little seaside hotels. It has a small but marvellous spa, a beach-rocking bar and the best restaurant in all Bodrum. In the pipeline for 2020: summer hotel residences, Maçakizi Lofts.

SIX SENSES KAPLANKAYA

Barcelona architects OAB originally created Kaplankaya’s centrepiece, which was launched as a Six Senses hotel with an epic spa last year. Low-slung and low-impact, it branches along the sweep of the landscape and, inside, opens up into a cathedral-like space. Sleek, warm wood suites and pool villas are arranged like a neighbourhood. On one of Kaplankaya’s seven beaches, Anhinga bar was designed by K-Studio, who did Scorpios in Mykonos ; the sea bream is fat and delicious and the drinks are stuffed with herbs from the garden.

The locals' guide to the Turkish Riviera

This story includes images of Bodrum and along the length of the Turkish coastline from Turquoise Coast , a travel book published by Assouline. Co-producers Irem Kinay and Nevbahar Koç let us in on their Turkish Riviera secrets...

Where is home?

Irem Kinay: I live in Rumelihisari, very close to Istanbul’s Bebek neighbourhood on the Bosphorus. For me being at home means having an escape in a city populated by 17 million people. I love being close to the water yet nestled among the trees. Bebek is also where I opened the first Assouline store.

Nevbahar Koç: My hometown is Istanbul, but we spend the summer on a boat, sailing along the south coast of Turkey.

Nevbahar Koç

What would your ideal day involve?

IK: Wake up early to the sounds of the birds around my home, then go for a walk along the Bosphorus. After a quick breakfast in a local café in Bebek, I’d take a boat to the old city and take in Istanbul with all its contrasts. I love getting lost in the bazaar, listening to the shopkeepers who always have the most interesting stories from all around the world. I would finish the day in Pera, on the terrace of Mikla restaurant, sipping a locally inspired cocktail overlooking the Golden Horn and the Topkapi Palace for a true synthesis of East and West.

Bodrum the most glamorous beach hangout in the Mediterranean

NK: My ideal day would be to wake up in one of the beautiful green bays of Göcek and enjoy the sun and sea with my family and friends. I like cruising around the coast and getting to experience all it has to offer. Whether it’s visiting a magical cave where you can enter with a dinghy or waterskiing in the late afternoon when the water is calm, there’s always something to keep you occupied. At night I like going to one of the local restaurants for fish and mezze.

What is the most unusual experience you’ve had?

IK: When you are anchored in a bay in Göcek – isolated in peace and quiet in pure wilderness – you can hail the pancake boat in the morning for fresh pancakes filled with cheese and herbs. Similarly, you can jump on the massage boat in the afternoon for a spa treatment just when you thought you were far away from any form of civilisation.

Are there any secret spots you like to go to?

IK: Orfoz restaurant is a great secret spot in Bodrum, behind the castle. It’s really the most extraordinary restaurant on the coast for fresh shellfish, all prepared by brothers Cağri and Cağlar and paired with a perfect local wine list. The original Orfoz was run by their parents in Bozburun, and I used to crave the food during the winter, but their sons’ restaurant in Bodrum is also a treasure.

NK: Bozburun Cave is still not known to many. It’s amazing.

Where do you go for the best view?

IK: There’s a small island in the Gulf of Hisaronu, across from the D Maris Bay hotel, which is a great spot to anchor and watch the sun go down. I have seen the most epic, magical sunsets here.

**NK:**The sunset over the ‘Seven Islands’, or Yediadalar, is like walking into another dimension.

Which are the most impressive historical monuments in the area?

NK: The carved rock tombs in Kekova. To swim around them is an incredible experience.

Where do you go to soak up the atmosphere of the coast?

IK: For me, Bodrum is the Maçakizi hotel in Türkbükü. The sea, the food, the music and the crowd all come together to create a unique atmosphere.

Your top places to eat?

NK: The Bozburun Yacht Club for its delicious fresh food – it’s like eating at home. Sit down at a table right by the sea and order the just-caught turbot.

Is there one place where you always order the same thing?

At Orfoz in Bodrum I get the fish soup to start, then pink tomato salad, oysters with Parmesan and oven-baked aubergine.

Irem Kinay

What is your favourite local dish?

NK: You can only get the famous blue crab in Dalyan, nowhere else.

IK: Gözleme (local pancakes) with herbs in Göcek.

Where are the best shopping areas?

IK: Bodrum bazaar on Tuesdays for textiles, herbs, wooden spoons, fresh fruit and local teas. And Yalikavak Marina for local designers.

NK: I love the shopping in Kaş – there’s a street with small artisan shops and antiques. The best items to buy are the authentic thin Turkish towels and robes. I’d recommend anyone to get a couple of them in different colours.

Do you have a favourite shop?

IK: Atelier by Sumru Sekeroğlu in Kaş.

Do you go to any food markets?

NK: If you catch the weekly local bazaar, you can buy directly from the villagers. If not, they come to your boat to sell food and crafts. In downtown Bodrum there’s an open bazaar where locals sell everything from herbs to fish and fabrics to wooden spoons and sponges…

Which local artisans have you discovered?

NK: There’s a lovely atelier in Kaş producing authentic clothing. Other artisans make natural soaps with herbal ingredients, or craft objects in wood and mother of pearl.

Do you dress differently when you’re on the coast?

NK: Light, soft fabrics and Riviera-chic designs are my favourite for sailing.

Blue voyage

The term Gulet commonly referred to as the wooden fishing boats sailed across the Aegean Sea. Today the usage of this wonderful Gulet has been changed by transforming it into a mini floating hotel. The Gulet cruising is abundant around the Southwestern coast of Turkey. The term Blue Voyage or Blue tour which is used in Turkey’s tourism industry, Turkey has invaded almost every nook & corner in the cruising field of Turkey, becoming a world-famous brand of Gulet cruising.

A little bit History of Gulets (Blue-voyage)

At the most primary stage of tourism, centralized around the Mediterranean, the private cruises were merely limited to wealthy yacht owners , who were fond of activities such as voyaging on sponge diving & fishing, in consideration to their creature comfort. After that, around since the late 1970’s wooden sailing boats, seemed to be handcrafted vessels also called Gulets then, have been commonly seen along the coast of Turkey, Greece, Croatia, & Italy.

After the arrival of the recreational cruising, exclusively prepared for passenger comfort, Blue Voyage Turkey, were equipped with massive versatility, beyond the superficial appearance of Gulet, rather traditional wooden boats from the past.

3.    Festive banquets on time; as you’re willing.

Eating, is a compulsory part, in any cruise service. Blue Voyage Turkey also, provides this facility, as best as it can, without leaving any shortage of your dishes, & also with an added value, in comparison to other cruise service providers.

The chefs, talented in preparing food items of different cultures, would be longing for, feeding you with a massive Turkish breakfast, a wholesome home-made lunch, a late eve dinner prepared on the barbeque & also afternoon tea & snacks, in addition to those.

Another virtue, visible in any member of Blue Voyage crew is the courtesy, & respectfulness towards the guests, no matter how busy they get with the endless toils in Blue Voyage. Most meals are consistently, served in Family style, on the big outdoor dining table of Gulet, with everyone supporting themselves from shared platters.

In fact, these banquet cultures is attributed to the meals of Gulet cruises, in order to promote unity & intercorrelation among racially &culturally, separated individuals, especially in cabin charter Gulets.

4.    Getting from place to place.

Each day, Gulet usually moves a few times, depending on your cruise itinerary. The sailor hops in the dinghy to untie the lines keeping the Gulet in exact place & simultaneously, the captain starts the engine. The anchor holding the front part of boat is raised then. This process may take a considerable time. For instance, in some spots, it is required 150m or more length of chain to be laid out to keep Gulet safe in position.

5.  Have a comfortable slumber under a murmuring, chilly breezes & twinkling stars.

The majority of the guests prefer sleeping on the deck during the hottest days of summer.

You are capable of falling asleep at ease, without any interruptions of pesky mosquitoes flying here & there throughout the night, & dawn, after covering yourself in insect repellant. In addition, you would intermittently, feel like the delicate winds, crossing the giant Mediterranean, tickling & smoothly hugging you.

If you spent a night at Blue Voyage Turkey, you would see the clusters of stars, lodging in the massive sky, stretching towards the infinity, glancing at you, erasing your isolation, until you fall asleep. The summer sky above the Mediterranean is utterly spectacular & obvious, as the influences of light pollution is negligible.

Thus, you can wake up in the elegant Mediterranean twilight, supplying a preamble for another day of joy, in the Blue Voyage.

6.   The massive variety of water sports & leisure time activities. You are provided whole range of water sport activities, available on board. Besides, you are also capable of entertaining yourself by;

  • Covering beautiful paradises of Turkish archipelago.
  • Shopping in unique villages & towns.
  • Visiting historic ruins.

7.  A reliable life assurance.

Blue Voyage Bodrum has been getting dignity for the best hospitality & client satisfaction for numerous decades & still it is the same. Reviews from our Guests

The Bedia Sultan is really beautiful – the woodwork, attention to detail and the comfortable spaces. We loved it and it was always the best yacht in the ports. Mel and her team are amazing – nothing was too Koch trouble and they forethought everything we needed, great service and lovely personalities. The food was amazing – really delicious and varied, all of it was good. Hasan is a perfectionist, cool-headed but easy to work with when we wanted to change our itinerary he gave us the best advice and accommodated is so we had the best experience. The coastline is magnificent, crystal clear waters and gorgeous scenery. We fell in love with everything in Turkey and had the most wonderful week.

It was a beautiful vacation !! Mr. Hakan from the agency had everything perfectly organized! We were taken from the airport in a luxury vehicle to the harbor where the beautiful yacht lay. From here we have the unusually pleasant and nice crew spoiled. Despite some allergies and food intolerances among us in the group, the cook has managed to make us all really happy. Very, very delicious! So we spent a carefree time with water skiing, snorkeling, boating or just let your mind wander ….. just wonderful! Thank you! We can not think of anything!

A beautiful, older, but well-maintained gulet in wooden construction. The service on board. The route through beautiful nature and small picturesque villages was particularly fascinating on the island of Simi. Steward Bilal, was a unique tip.

The whole experience in general has been very rewarding. The crew of the boat is very efficient and friendly, with a special congratulation to the cook who has made us enjoy Turkish cuisine and have been aware of all our preferences. We also thank the company and the crew for the quick management they did when we needed medical attention for one of our friends. In general everything has been very much to our liking.

We liked the Göcek-Bodrum tour very much. All the bays that Captain Yüksel could take us to were wonderful. I cannot finish by telling about the excellent meals Chef Ali has made on the boat. I would like to thank the entire crew and agency manager Erkan for their interest. Hope to see you for the next vacation. VERY LIKED

The crew was awesome! Our chef made the most delicious meals from fresh food that we selected ourselves. Interacting with Mehmet, the main crew member looking after me and my husband, was hands down the best part of our trip. Mehmet ensured we always had what we needed in a discreet way and was always a step ahead of us. The captain was incredibly kind and walked us through the maps of all of the places that we would be visiting. He also made multiple suggestions for anchorage at locations that we hadn’t planned on visiting, which was brilliant. The sailor on the boat was also incredibly kind and was constantly ensuring my husband and I had what we need.

This time it was really luxury! The Gulet – Dreamland – was well equipped, the cabins generous, the bathrooms really offer space and were cleaned daily on the finest and tidy. The chef is in a class of its own, the kitchen was very varied, there were several fish in excellent quality! The Kaptan is extremely friendly and accommodating and very competent. For us, it was an unforgettable week in the beautiful Turkish coastline.

Loved the boat and the itinerary. Beautiful Gulf of Gocova! I think we would have liked more discussion about the itinerary before we started as we would have liked to go to a few more restaurants in the evening. However the places the captain chose to anchor in were gorgeous. Thought the food could be better. Although we kept telling the chef not to provide so much we kept getting far too much food!

Scenery was stunning, the boat was comfortable, food was fabulous and the 3 crew were really great.

We had a wonderful trip! The experience was very positive from the beginning: Ender from the BlueTourTurkey agency was super quick and helpful, he answered all questions immediately and organized the trip in a very short time. Crew was also very attentive and even did more than work: Kapitaen Ismail shared his private wifi with us, Ahmed spoiled us with delicious and varied food, Oshahn even gave the child his own baseball cup. We had 3 people in our family who couldn’t swim and the crew looked after us perfectly by taking us from the yacht to the beach with dinghy every day. Thank you for a great trip and wonderful vacation!

Barış captain and his friend served very well The food was delicious, the service was perfect, the boat was great, they did their best.

We enjoyed our trip very much. The boat was beautiful and clean. The crew was wonderful — very accommodating. The food was very good — of course, we are all on diets now! The travel agents and agency were very efficient and organized — I give them very high marks. Everything they promised, they did. We all feel we got very good value for our money.

ALL ABOUT BLUE CRUISE AND GULETS

turkish gulet

The Blue Tour is the most ideal and distinctive vacation you can have in Turkey.

The goal of the Blue Tour is to take in the glory and unending beauty of the sunset. It is to take advantage of the fish, appetizers, and drinks in the calm, blue-dominated waters. It involves reading a book that you haven’t been able to finish in a while and becoming lost in it. It is to spend time alone with your significant other at dusk, travel through various distinctive bays, go swimming in clear, calm seas, and lie on the sand at the beach. Get away from the bustle and fatigue of the city and embark on an inner trip to discover how long it has been since you last felt free.

Consider taking a blue cruise around the most stunning coastlines of the Aegean and Mediterranean, in coves where green and blue embrace. A beautiful yacht where you can spend time alone with your loved ones, share days and nights, and have fun is another option for this trip.

How Did The Blue Cruise Begin?

In the Gulf of Gökova, the Blue Tour’s narrative opens. The Istiklal Court sentenced historian, translator, and author Cevat Sakir Kabaagacli (a fisherman from Halicarnassus) to kalebentlik in Bodrum for a 1925 piece that appeared in the magazine “Illustrated Week.” He would serve a three-year term. However, Cevat Sakir’s cellar days change from punishment to enjoyment. It was consequently agreed that he would be returned to Istanbul. After doing his time, Cevat Sakir relocates to Bodrum. He adopts the moniker “fisherman of Halicarnassus” after the ancient Turkish city of Bodrum and signs numerous works that are still in circulation today.

Cevat Sakir described his visits to the Gulf of Gokova, various periods of his life, and the people he met in his works. He thought it fitting to refer to this multi-day journey as the “Blue Cruise,” which he took with his companions in the Gulf of Gokova and which began in very unimpressive circumstances.

Summary Of A Day

On the boat, the day starts with a hearty breakfast in the relaxing morning chill. Typically, a hard pier comes after breakfast in the moored bay at night. They make an effort to get there before midday when the sea is calm. Everyone is free to do whatever they choose in the moored bay after lunch. Swim, dive, surf, and water ski for recreation. Everyone becomes more excited as dusk draws near, and it’s time to “sink the sun” with a drink and share some of the fish you’ve caught. You close your eyes under the millions of stars at midnight and organize your wishes at each star shift.

The Blue Cruise is too unique and complex to be explained in a few sentences. Hence, please stop by and stay with us!

Yacht Charter Turkey

Turkey’s proximity to both the Mediterranean Sea and the Aegean Sea makes it one of the ideal countries for blue tour routes. Turkey is one of the top vacation spots to think about because of this. Turkey is a popular destination with travelers seeking the sun, scenic beauty, and high standards of decency. The many tourist attractions in southwestern Turkey have become popular due to frequent flights to international airports. In the summer, numerous travelers visit areas like Bodrum, Marmaris, Fethiye, and Gocek. These locations are all included in the Blue Tour itinerary.

Turkey is one of the greatest international possibilities for your upcoming trip because of its vibrant and hospitable culture. With its tranquil, turquoise waters in the eastern Mediterranean, Turkey is the ideal spot for your next journey. The sixth-most popular tourist destination worldwide is Turkey. It has 16 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and this number is growing.

It is now clear why yacht routes are becoming more popular in the Turkish Sea. Turkey is the world’s top producer of contemporary superyachts and opulent gulets, boasting the most reputable shipyards. Various options include elegant motor yachts, elegant sailing yachts, and classic Turkish gulets.

The luxurious Blue Tour in Turkey offers a variety of tour alternatives to suit any traveler. You can explore a historic location, undiscovered bays, or an old settlement that has seen history. Your entire trip to Turkey would be an unforgettable journey, whatever you decide to do. Every time you go out, you have a brand new, pleasurable, and memorable experience.

Prepare to go on a blue tour in Turkey, where you won’t be able to discover your soul mate among the picturesque villages and distinctive ultra-luxurious decks. Turkey would wow you instead, from touring historical monuments to peacefully residing, taking part in water activities, and navigating the streets.

Blue Cruise Routes

Between Bodrum and Demre, the Aegean and Mediterranean bays make up the Blue Cruise’s middle portion of the route. Another option is to begin the tour in Istanbul and continue on to Antalya. The flavor of the Blue Trip is concealed, nevertheless, in mooring in nearby bays. Today’s “Blue Cruises” are typically made in 20- to 40-meter wooden gulet-style boats. Although it can sail because of the wind, motor power is frequently used after that.

The beginning of the Blue Journey trip is in Bodrum. Cruises to the Cyclades and the Twelve Islands are also scheduled via Kos Island, which is practically next door, despite the fact that it makes a good starting point for Blue cruises to both Gökova and Hisaronu bays.

While not particularly preferred, the northern path, known as Gulluk or Mandalya Bay, runs from Bodrum to Kusadasi. After anchoring historic cities like Didyma and Lassos, you may go on land excursions, which is helpful to individuals with a passion for archaeology.

The first place is Gökova, which is a little different but livelier thanks to its developing beaches and seaside resorts. Along with Gökova’s captivating natural beauty, there are the remains of the ancient city of Keramos, whose primary draw is Cleopatra’s Beach. According to rumors, he and his boyfriend Anthony imported sand from Egypt to this beach! This theme makes the region seem more exotic and intriguing.

Knidos, which is southwest of Gökova, was a significant city in antiquity. All tourists taking the Blue Cruise today will find it to be a great location. You can go swimming, snorkeling, and engaging in other water activities in the clear, blue waters at a number of private beaches and isolated caverns. If you enjoy fishing, you can locate a site quickly. In the evening, we’ll serve whatever we can catch and the BBQ our chef promised.

Your next stop is Datça, one of the three places in the world with the highest oxygen ratio without any industrialization. Datça is like a dream town where you may stroll about with its distinctive and clean environment, restaurants, bars, and craft shops. You can purchase mementos to take home, give to loved ones, or keep as a reminder of your unique blue cruise journey.

Beyond the Gulf of Hisaronu is Marmaris. Marmaris is home to the most prestigious hotels in addition to sailors in the Aegean. Iztuzu Beach is one of the few places on earth where you can view a sea turtle, or more specifically, a Caretta-Caretta. Small boats can be used to enjoy the river, and you can go to Dalyan to see the well-known Kaunos archaeological site. You travel through the Dalyan Canal to the sea, astounded by the splendor of the king’s tombs. Spas and pampering mud baths are further options.
