Carnival Vista

About Carnival Vista

Carnival Vista debuted in May 2016 as the first of Carnival Cruise Line's innovative Vista Class series with lots of fun and exciting new features. The 133,500-ton, 3,954-guest ship is also its largest to-date, designed to highlight the connection of passengers with the special seagoing experience with added outdoor spaces and al fresco dining venues so you can enjoy the fresh sea breezes. The floating resort is ideal for families, groups of friends and cruisers of all ages with an abundance of amenities and activities, including almost 30 dining and drinking venues. Chill-out at the many bars, including one where you can taste craft beers at the onboard brewery.

Whether you're looking for a fun retreat at the new Family Harbor staterooms or you prefer the privacy of the new Havana Cabanas, you will feel right at home in spacious accommodations. Leisurely pleasures also abound. Indulge in a host of rejuvenating treatments massages, at the two-deck spa, relax in the thermal suite with four steam chambers and keep up with your exercise routines at a fitness center and at the jogging track. A hair and beauty salon offers a variety of services.

Stretch out on a Balinese-style lounge at an area that is a retreat that is exclusive for adults while also enjoying bar service and the glorious vistas. Melt your cares away at the peaceful whirlpools and get a massage in a private hut. While you are indulging in some "me" time, excitement and fun are provided to children with age-specific youth activities .

Several exciting features made their debut on Carnival Vista, such as the first IMAX Theatre at sea and an open-air aerial attraction designed for thrill-seekers which lets them ride recumbent-like bikes and circle around the 800-foot track 150 feet above the sea. The water park features Carnival Cruise Line's first raft-riding water tube slide — at 455-feet-long — you will have an exhilarating time. You can also relax at the three pools and head to the huge sports area for some family fun time at a ropes course, mini-golf and more.

Enticing culinary delights are offered on Carnival Vista. Savor delicious international cuisine at the two main dining rooms, both with an extensive menu that changes daily. The casual Lido buffet features a variety of food to please everyone's palate and Carnival's first seafood shack — a New England-inspired eatery — serves such classics as lobster rolls, crab cakes and clam chowder. Enticing culinary options also include delicious Asian dishes, sushi, Mexican cuisine and a classic steakhouse. Grab a hand-crafted burger with all the toppings and fresh-cut fries at the poolside burger joint.

Choose from a variety of spacious accommodations, including suites, balconies, interior staterooms and oceanviews. "Family Zone" with Family Harbor Staterooms & Suites were introduced on Carnival Vista and can accommodate up to five guests. Retreat to your own oasis at the new Havana Cabana Suites, with a rain shower in the bathroom and private outdoor patio where you can sink into comfy lounge chairs and enjoy the sea breeze from a hammock. Designed with a relaxing ambiance, spa staterooms and suites offer guests easy spa access and other amenities.

Entertainment on Carnival Vista, including the first at sea IMAX Theatre, shows Hollywood blockbusters on a three-deck-high screen. A huge multiplex offers a theater with special effects that will leave you awe-struck. The comedians will keep you laughing at the comedy club. Go dancing and join in the fun at deck parties. Unforgettable nights include a magical experience under the stars with spectacular lighting effects and the excitement at the bustling casino. Enjoy new vistas on this fun-filled ship.

Carnival Vista sails to the Caribbean and the Bahamas.

The iconic red and white checkered tablecloth in your neighborhood Italian trattoria means you’re in for a certain kind of dining experience. We went looking for someone to help us grill up the best burgers at sea, and we found just the guy. Pizzeria Del Capitano

Pizzeria Del Capitano

On Carnival ships, the captain tends to be kind of a big deal — almost a celebrity. On a few select ships, they’ve even got their own pizza kitchen. The best part? Pizzeria del Capitano is open to everyone, 24 hours a day! And since our captains tend to be Italian, you know the quality of the ingredients truly pass muster. (Sorry, nautical pun.) Hand-tossed dough, made from imported Italian flour, plus fresh mozzarella form a solid base, and a choice of toppings put the finishing touches on this piping hot, fresh-from-the-oven mealtime — or anytime — classic.

Sun, sea… salad? Yep! Leave the pizza and burgers for the kids — or maybe just for later — because we’ve got an all-grown-up chopped salad station right inside Serenity. Fresh Creations is free and it’s there when you need it most: on sea days, those lazy afternoons of lounging around and enjoying all the good stuff your ship has to offer. There’s plenty of good here, starting with nearly a dozen varieties of greens (really!), tons of protein and veggie options… only to be topped by dressings creamy, vinaigretty… and in some cases freshly made right there.

Dr. Seuss Bookville

Dr. Seuss Bookville

Let’s use our imaginations — just think what would happen if we took a normal library and put it through one of Dr. Seuss’s wacky contraptions… set to maximum fun, of course. It would probably come out looking much like Dr. Seuss Bookville, which as you can imagine, is exclusively aboard Carnival! The room is all decked out in bright colors, fun and whimsical furniture and even has some of your all-time favorite Dr. Seuss characters on the walls. But let’s not forget that this space is all about the books — the shelves are filled to the brim for hours of fun reading.

Redfrog Pub & Brewery

Redfrog Pub & Brewery

You can enjoy a pint served with Caribbean atmosphere at RedFrog Pubs across the Carnival fleet. But at one location — RedFrog Pub & Brewery aboard Carnival Vista — there’s a real working brewery, right there inside the pub! Beer connoisseurs can be found delighting their palates with complex and delicious pints of craft-brew exclusives made just feet away by our onboard brewmaster, like ThirstyFrog Port Hoppin’ IPA, ThirstyFrog Caribbean Wheat, FriskyFrog Java Stout and ThirstyFrog American Pale Ale. Plus, our brewmaster is always dreaming up unique, small-batch seasonal brews. Of course, you’ll also find great craft cocktails at the full bar — after all, one of RedFrog’s founding principles is that good rum can be served up neat in a tasting flight… or mixed with refreshing tropical flavors. So fly on in for the great drinks, but stay for the atmosphere: live music, delicious bites and pub games make this brewery a welcoming, fun-for-all chill spot.

Serenity

The Serenity Adult-Only Retreat is a world of complete peace, sea breezes and swaying hammocks. On Carnival Vista, we're taking the chill to new highs with even more options for stretching out and getting comfy. And now, you can get a light bite with a chopped salad station right here. Serenity’s the place to do the stuff that’s hard to do in everyday life — reconnect with your partner, finish that book, or do absolutely, blissfully, nothing at all.

Circle C

What does the “C” in Circle “C” stand for? Well, “chill,” “connect” and “cool,” just to name a few. It’s where young teens ages 12 to 14 go to hang out, meet new friends, and enjoy some pretty awesome activities like dance parties, games, outdoor movies and more, in the special Circle “C” area or around the ship. It’s all supervised by friendly and fun-loving counselors who want your young teens to have the best vacation ever.

BlueIguana Tequila Bar is the onboard spot to chill and enjoy a slushy tequila drink or an ice-cold Mexican cerveza. The menu offers up Mexican favorites, including several brands of tequila and a slew of Mexican brews. There’s a lineup of frozen concoctions, cocktails and margaritas served by the glass or by the pitcher, and even a special Mexican beer cocktail (yes, really). Where can you find this little slice of Mexican paradise? Next to the pool, of course. So stay cool and take in the bar’s vacation vibe while you kick back on your cruise – that’s what official bar mascot Blue the Iguana would tell you.

Thermal Suite

Thermal Suite

To be the king or queen of the thermostat — doesn't it feel great? While bending the elements to your will, finding that perfect temperature for relaxation is awesome… even better is not needing to. Carnival's Cloud 9 Spa thermal suites are dedicated relaxation zones with a variety of available environments, each carefully developed by our master climate artists. Whether you prefer to lounge in the dry heat of the Laconium or Tepidarium, or like a little soothing moisture in the air (in which case try the Oriental or Aroma steambaths), prepare to experience temperature nirvana.

Sometimes you just need to get away… from all that vacation. We know — sitting at home, it’s hard to imagine that, but trust us — it’s really, really nice to have a place to unwind from the day’s excitement. Escape to a world designed, from the ground up, for relaxation. Cloud 9 Spa staff are masters (or, maybe more like artists) trained in the craft of simply helping you chill. What’s their secret? Massages, facials, body wraps, thermal suites and more — plus, on certain ships, the amazing Thalassotherapy Pool — these are the tools of the trade. And the trade is ultimate relaxation. Fitness Center

Fitness Center

We have some bad news for you — your ship has a gym. In other words, there’s no excuse for leaving your fitness routine back on land. That’s great news, however, for your body, which will definitely benefit from all the extra energy that vacationing pumps directly into you. And let’s not forget the extra time you’ll have, since you won’t be waking up and spending most of the day at the office or anything like that. If those were some of your go-to excuses, we’re sorry, but we all know this is important.

Sauna

Deck: 14-Spa

A trip to the salon is an opportunity to relax, to chat with others, to focus on yourself. It’s about more than just getting your hair or nails done… but it’s definitely about getting your hair or nails done! Even though you’re on vacation, you won’t have to settle for anything less than the salon style you’re used to back on land. And these good looks go beyond the usual — we even offer services like teeth whitening… great for taking those ‘I’m on vacation and I’m looking great!’ smiles to the next level.

Carnival Vista cruise ship

Carnival Vista deck plan review at CruiseMapper provides newest cruise deck plans (2024-2025-2026 valid floor layouts of the vessel) extracted from the officially issued by Carnival Cruise Line deckplan pdf (printable version).

Each of the Carnival Vista cruise ship deck plans are conveniently combined with a legend (showing cabin codes) and detailed review of all the deck's venues and passenger-accessible indoor and outdoor areas. A separate link provides an extensive information on Carnival Vista staterooms (cabins and suites), including photos, cabin plans and amenities by room type and category.

Carnival Vista (2016-built, first refurbishemnt in 2019, last refurbished in 2024 January) is one of the newest Carnival cruise ships - together with the fleetmates (sisterships) Carnival Horizon (2018) and Carnival Panorama (2019). Vista-Class (Fincantieri-built) sisterships are also the former Costa Cruises ' liners  Venezia (2019) and Firenze (2020).

Carnival Vista cruise ship deck plan shows a total of 1965 staterooms for 3934 passengers (max capacity is 4716) served by 1450 crew-staff. The boat has 14 passenger-accessible decks (13 with cabins), 25 lounges and bars, 10 restaurants/food bars, 3 swimming pools, 6 outdoor Jacuzzis (4 cantilevered), 16 elevators.

Carnival Vista decks with passenger cabins have a total of 72 Suites, 880 Balconies, 293 Oceanviews, 678 Inside cabins, Self Service Laundromats (passenger use launderettes). Laundry facilities are at extra-charge – $3,25 (per washer or dryer load) and $1,5 per box (detergent/water softener, dispensed from the vending machine in the room). Launderettes (open between 6:30 am – 12 midnight) are located on all cabin decks. Each laundry room is equipped with 2-3 washers, 2-3 dryers, 1 ironing board/iron. All laundry machines are coinless (can be operated using S&S cards only). While the ship is in port, washing machines are closed (only dryers and irons can be used). Valet laundry service is handled through the cabin steward. Prices are per item – wash-and-press ($2 – $7,50) and dry-cleaning ($3 – $10,50).

With the 3x Vista-class liners (Vista/2016, Horizon/2018, Panorama/2019) were introduced the fleet-firsts "IMAX Theater at Sea" (87-seats cinema/part of Carnival Multiplex), "SkyRide" (outdoor/aerial bicycle ride/suspended 2-track bike course), Havana Staterooms (cabin complex with a swimming pool, sundeck, lounge, lanai balconies).

The Vista cruise ship has all the popular Fun Ship 2.0 features as dining and entertainment options, but also many new ones, like:

  • the first at sea IMAX Theater (with 2 screens) – at extra charge
  • the first at sea roller coaster (SkyRide)
  • high-powered outdoor activities, including an outdoor gym (SkyFitness)
  • Carnival Multiplex entertainment
  • new dining options and bars (more casual dining choices)
  • new cabin types
  • new “luxury resort” complex (Havana)
  • new kids- and family-themed places
  • Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse / Smokehouse / Brewhouse is an open-air complimentary restaurant for a variety of BBQ favorites (with shipboard-smoked meats) and house-made craft beers. The menu features pork butt, blue ribbon chicken, sliced smoked beef, Guy Fieri's traditional sides, and gourmet burgers, a variety of BBQ sauces, hot sauce bar. Signature menu items are named Mac Daddy Mac'n Cheese, Old Skool Potato Salad, Scratch-Made Slaw, Collard Greens with Smoked Turkey, Molasses Baked Beans with Bacon and Burnt Ends. The new complimentary eatery is via a partnership with celebrity chef Guy Fieri. The other Fun Ship with a brewery is Carnival Horizon.

33 Important Carnival Vista Tips – Know before you go

After our recent Carnival Vista cruise we have put together a list of 33 Carnival Vista tips and bits of information you will want to know before taking your first cruise on this Carnival ship.

Here you will find some of the best Carnival cruise tips. While some of these tips apply to all Carnival ships, this article is about the Carnival Vista cruise ship in particular.

Carnival Vista Tips

1. spiked milkshakes.

It’s true! Spiked milkshakes are available on the Carnival Vista cruise ship in the Java Blue Café. While Carnival calls it the “Shake Spot”, it is in the café located on deck 5.

See the Carnival Cruise Line spiked milkshakes menu here .

2. Shorter coffee lines

The Ocean Plaza Bar which is right beside the Java Blue Café has the exact same coffee menu as the Java Blue often with shorter lines.

This is a Carnival Vista cruise tip that many people don’t know, especially early on in the cruise. Before getting in a long line, check the line for the Ocean Plaza Bar.

3. Select specialty restaurants offer free lunch

Both the Cucina del Capitano (Italian restaurant) and Ji Ji Asian Kitchen are specialty restaurants that you have to pay to eat dinner at but lunch is served there limited hours for no additional cost. It is a different menu however.

You will see it listed on the Carnival Hub App as “pasta bar” and “Mongolian Wok”, both these are located upstairs from the Lido Marketplace buffet restaurant. There is an internal staircase in the buffet.

Carnival Vista Tips - staircase leads to specialty restaurants offering free lunch

4. Limited outlets in the staterooms

We had an interior stateroom on deck 8. There was only 1 electrical outlet and that was located on the desk.

Add both a cruise approved power bar (non-surge protected) as well as a portable charger to your cruise packing list.

cruise ship approved power strip

I like to have my phone by the bed as I use it for an alarm. I used my portable charger at night on my bedside table to charge my cell phone through the night.

Portable charger a one of the cruise essentials available on Amazon

5. Edible straws

The Carnival fleet has gone to edible candy straws in an effort to reduce waste and be more environmentally friendly. I think this is a smart decision.

While I think these straws are much better than paper straws, I do find that they can get slimy to touch.

Some people love them while others hate them. One way around this is to bring your own reusable straw . I would suggest one that comes with a cleaning brush and case.

6. Ice cream and ice cream sandwiches at the candy store

The Cherry on Top candy store also serves up hard ice cream and made to order ice cream sandwiches . These do have a minimal charge.

This is a nice alternative to the free soft serve yogurt you can find near the lido marketplace buffet restaurant.

The Cherry on Top can also be accessed from outside on deck 5. There is some great seating outside where you can sit and enjoy your frozen treat.

Cherry on top candy store and ice cream bar outside seating

7. Daily puzzle sheets are available at Java Blue Cafe

Stop by the Java Blue Café each morning to grab a free crossword and sudoku puzzle sheet . This is a nice relaxing way to start your mornings.

Crossword puzzle and sudoku puzzle sheets at the Java Blue Cafe

8. Spa day passes are available

Spa day and weekly passes are available for the relaxation areas of the Cloud 9 Spa.

The relaxation areas include a thalassotherapy pool, tile loungers, sauna, showers and chilled towels. Spa day passes don’t include any spa treatments.

On embarkation day head to the Cloud 9 spa forward on deck 12. You just need to put your name on a day pass list. At this point you don’t need to choose a day or pay. On the day you decide to use the day pass, just go to the spa and tell them you had your name down for a day pass.

Passes are limited and can sell out, this is why it is a good idea to sign up on the first day.

9. Debarkation luggage tags are not delivered to your room

On all the cruises I had been on previously, the debarkation luggage tags were delivered to your stateroom on the second to last night. On this Carnival Vista cruise (and then our subsequent Carnival Radiance cruise), luggage tags were not delivered.

You picked up your own luggage tags . The debarkation luggage tags are all numbered. For those who check their luggage (have the crew members carry your luggage off the ship), debarkation is done in order of these numbered luggage tags (with a few exceptions).

Therefore, if you want to get off early but don’t want to carry off your own luggage, you will need a lower numbered tag. Be sure to listen to the debarkation talk for the location and time the tags are first available.

10. No conditioner

Carnival cruise ships do NOT have conditioner in the stateroom bathrooms. The showers do have shampoo and shower gel dispensers but not conditioner.

More Carnival Vista tips and bits of information to know before you go.

11. Games at the back of the Red Frog Pub and Brewery

The back of the Red Frog pub on deck 5 is a little hidden gem. You’ll find foosball tables and shuffle board tables that you can play for free. There is also an electronic dart board. This is a fun little area.

You can access it from inside the pub or from the outside of deck 5.

Games at the back of the Red Frog pub on Carnival Vista

12. Red Frog Pub brewery tours

Speaking of the Red Frog Pub and Brewery. They also offer brewery tours and beer flight tasting for the craft beer lovers. Both have an additional cost.

Check your Fun Times or the Carnival Hub app for the brewery tour dates and times if this is of interest to you.

13. Bring glow sticks

Carnival cruise deck parties are a popular evening entertainment option and one of the reasons they are known as the fun ships.

A great way to add a little extra fun is to bring glow sticks for the 80’s Rock n’ Glow deck party. They take up very little space in your luggage but adds a lot to the great experience.

14. Pack a white outfit

Another themed party night is the White Hot Night Party hosted by the cruise director. Passengers are encouraged to wear white.

Wearing white is optional and you can still attend even if you aren’t wearing a white outfit. But if you and your family members have a white outfit then bring that along on your upcoming cruise vacation.

15. Skybox bar has video poker

The Skybox Sports Bar on deck 4 has a video poker table (Texas hold’em). You must be 18+ to play. The Carnival Fun Times and hub app will have scheduled “Hold’em players meet” at several times a day.

Skybox sports bar video poker table

16. Don’t wait until you are starving to eat

I found the food lines for the casual dining options quite long. This included the Lido Marketplace (buffet), Guy’s Burger Joint, BlueIguana Cantina, and the Carnival Deli.

The long lines were definitely my least favorite thing about this Carnival cruise ship. I’m not sure if this is a short staffing issue after covid or if it is the norm.

While it doesn’t discourage me from cruising on this ship again, I would suggest not waiting until you are starving to decide to eat.

17. Check in for dining on the app

For breakfast in the main dining room or if you have “Your Time Dining” you can check in on the Carnival Hub app to save some time waiting in line.

Your dining time is selected when first booking your cruise. You can choose early dining, late dining or Your Time dining. Your Time dining allows you to eat in the main dining room between 5:30pm and 9:00pm.

Before heading down to the Horizons Restaurant, check in on the app. They will notify you when your table is ready through the app, then hold your table for 10 minutes. Turn on notifications from the Hub App.

Carnival main dining room check in on the app

18. Pool deck chairs fill up fast

The lido deck is the hub of activity regardless which ship in Carnival’s fleet you are sailing on. The deck chairs around the pool and the upper decks fill up quite fast, especially on sea days.

I found that with the Guy’s Burger Joint and Blue Iguana Cantina by the pool area, this left limited space for lounge chairs. If you are hoping to get a lounge chair near the pool, especially in the shade, you will want to get there early.

Reserving lounge chairs however are not allowed and just poor cruise etiquette. I’m not suggesting go first thing in the morning and reserve a seat with a towel. I’m just suggesting that if you want a pool side seat, plan to get there and enjoy your spot early.

19. Outside of deck 5 is a hidden gem

This is another area that I felt was a bit of a hidden gem because it was always so quiet was the outside of deck 5.

There are so many great little seating areas along this outer deck. Many of the food venues have outside seating here, plus there is a great section called The Lanai with padded lounge chairs.

Grab a coffee or tea from Java Blue Café (also deck 5) then head outside to enjoy it.

Coffee and puzzle sheet outside on deck 5 of Carnival Vista

The outside of deck 5 is also the only access to Guy’s Pig and Anchor restaurant. This is easily missed if you aren’t looking for it.

20. Try the Serenity Deck hot tubs

There are only a few hot tubs on Carnival Vista. Unfortunately, there are no hot tubs by the main pool. There are two hot tubs at the back by the Tides Pool and then one on the Serenity deck.

Carnival calls them whirlpools, which is a better term since none of them are very hot.

The hot tubs by the Tides pool were always very busy, but check out the Serenity deck. The whirlpool there was often less crowded, and no kids. The Serenity deck area is for adults aged 21+.

I do wish that there were more hot tubs like on the Carnival Dream.

21. Bring closed-toe shoes

If you are planning on trying the Skyride or the ropes course you must have closed-toe shoes. They were strict with this rule.

Carnival Vista sky ride

22. Ride the Skyride early

Another Carnival Vista tip is to ride the Skyride early on in your cruise. This activity is weather dependent. Don’t put it off until you last day only to find out it is closed because of winds.

23. The buffet has a menu

This is a great Carnival Vista tip. If you are unsure where you are going to eat and wondering what the Lido Marketplace buffet has to offer, look for the menu.

At the start of the buffet line there is a menu showing what is being served in the buffet. This a great feature. It eliminates standing in line then walking through the whole buffet only to realize you’d rather eat elsewhere.

More than once I had people ask me what I was looking at when I was reading the menu. It’s easy to miss if you aren’t looking for it.

24. Dive in Movie popcorn

Dive-In movies are the movies that are shown on the big screen above the pool. There is popcorn available which is a nice touch.

However, before sending your kids off to grab a bag, know that this is one of the things that costs extra on a Carnival cruise . On our cruise it was $4 per bag. It is free to watch the movie.

Carnival Cruise Dive In Movie popcorn bag

25. Each bar has it’s own menu

Part of the fun of a cruise is trying different cocktails. On Carnival ships, each bar has it’s own menu. Do a little bar hop and see what different drinks are offered.

Here is a list of what I think are the best Carnival cruise drinks . Several of them can be offered in a non-alcoholic version.

26. Bring magnetic hooks

Magnetic hooks are a great way stateroom organization hack . Use them to hang your cruise lanyard, hat, cover-ups and more.

I found that the room seemed a little humid and that damp clothing didn’t dry well. Magnetic hooks definitely helped with this. Rather than hanging your wet bathing suit and damp cover-up together on the bathroom shower clothesline, you could spread them out around the cabin. I found that this helped dry them a little faster.

Magnetic hooks used in a cruise stateroom to hang a cover-up and lanyard

27. Alchemy Bar has mocktails

The Alchemy bar serves has Lyre’s non-alcoholic mixes to create some unique mocktails. This is a great addition to the Alchemy bar menu.

A couple mocktails you might want to try are:

The Perfect Storm , which is strawberry puree, fresh lime, rosemary and Lyre’s Dry London instead of vodka.

Cucumber sunrise , this is made with watermelon nectar, cucumber, lime juice, a splash of orange juice, and Lyre’s Agave Blanco instead of vodka.

28. Dr. Seuss themed flume

On a couple of the mornings there was a Dr. Seuss Green Eggs & Ham breakfast available in one of the main dining rooms. This does have an additional cost but is a really fun and memorable activity for kids.

Even if you don’t participate in the breakfast, be sure to take your kids to check out the big flume in the Carnival Vista atrium. It will be Dr. Seuss themed. It is a fun little touch that will put a smile on your kids’ faces, and big kids like me :).

Dr Seuss themed flume in the Carnival Vista atrium

29. Chocolate melting cake

If this is your first Carnival cruise, a must try dessert is the chocolate melting cake offered nightly in the main dining room. The good news is there is no extra cost, it is included in your cruise fare.

Carnival cruise line's chocolate melting cake

30. Avoid guest services on the last day

This is actually a cruise tip for all cruise lines. Do your best to avoid guest services on the last day, the lines are usually painfully long.

Sometimes this is unavoidable but if you are planning on putting some cash on your onboard account or have a question about transfers go to guest services prior to the last day or early in the morning.

31. Don’t miss the towel animal extravaganza

I am not sure if this is always on a set day, but for us it was on the second to last day. The crew members work hard to create a unique experience by transforming towels into different animals.

Check the pool deck in the morning for the towel animal invasion.

Towel animals on all the lounge chairs on a Carnival Cruise

32. Consider the Havana area

If you are looking to splurge on your Carnival Vista cruise, consider the Havana area. Those staying in Havana cabins have exclusive access to the beautiful Havana pool area.

The Havana pool area also has a hot tub and plenty of comfortable seating. Being an exclusive area, means it is much less busy and quieter than the main pool area.

Havana stateroom guests are issued wristbands so that the crew members can easily identify who should be in that area. On our cruise this was heavily monitored.

There are different types of Havana staterooms ranging from interior Havana rooms (no window) to Havana Cabanas (which look amazing).

Carnival Vista Havana pool area

33. BlueIguana Cantina serves breakfast

This is another tip for a first-time cruiser with Carnival. Check out the breakfast burritos from the Blue Iguana Cantina located on the pool deck. They are made to order and delicious.

I hope these 33 Carnival Vista tips have helped you plan and get excited about your upcoming cruise. To help ensure you have everything you need for your cruise check out the 55 cruise essentials .

C arnival Cruise Line has revamped its Carnival Glory cruise ship with new features before it heads to its new home at Port Canaveral.

The 110,000-gross-ton ship is taking on three- and four-night Bahamas sailings from the port, joining three other Carnival ships. Built in 2003, the ship has a 2,980-guest passenger capacity based on double occupancy.

It recently came out of a 21-day dry dock at the Navantia shipyard in Cadiz, Spain, receiving some enhancements found on other Carnival ships.

Changes include a new casino layout, including a nonsmoking area, and a Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge that pays deference to military veterans and active-duty service members, taking over the SkyBox Sports Bar. Also added were a Dreams Photography Studio and upgrades within the spa.

When it debuted more than 20 years ago, Sally Ride, the first American woman in space, was named its godmother. Its space-themed pedigree extends to enhancements added to the youth area Camp Ocean, which now has a large video wall for its Space Cruisers program. Its curriculum was developed in partnership with Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Also updated is the video arcade and redubbed The Warehouse.

The refurb also removed the aft-pool Sky Dome, while the ship received routine hotel maintenance, cosmetic enhancements, ADA compliant updates in public areas and select staterooms including the addition of Ambulatory Accessible staterooms.

Stateroom balconies were also redone with new windows and doors and every stateroom had new LED lighting and bathroom nightlights added.

The ship sailed out of Barcelona on Thursday for a 14-night transatlantic voyage to Port Canaveral.

Its first sailing from Florida will be May 2. It joins Carnival Freedom, Carnival Vista and Carnival’s Mardi Gras calling the Orlando-area port home.

Leaving is Carnival Liberty, which is moving to New Orleans.

Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story said Carnival Glory received an updated hull paint scheme during the 2024 dry dock. It had its hull paint scheme updated in 2021.

Florence in California: Carnival launches new Italian-style cruise ship

carnival cruise lines vista

Carnival Cruise Line is bringing a touch of Italy to Southern California.

The line launched Carnival Firenze, inspired by its namesake city, this week. The vessel sailed its maiden voyage from its Long Beach homeport on Thursday.

“We carry more guests than any other cruise line from California, and now this ship is giving us the opportunity to offer more fun to more people sailing from Long Beach,” Christine Duffy, the line’s president, said in a news release . “The recipe combining this ship’s beautiful Italian theming with the familiarity of our friendly team’s hospitality is, in a word, perfecto!”

The ship is the second in the Carnival Fun Italian Style concept after sister ship Carnival Venezia joined the fleet last summer. Both were originally part of Costa Cruises – also owned by parent company Carnival Corp. – before being rehomed.

Where will Carnival Firenze sail?

The roughly 5,000-guest ship will offer Baja Mexico and Mexican Riviera cruises ranging from three to seven days. Stops include destinations like Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and Catalina Island.

What can guests expect on board?

Built in 2020, Firenze was refurbished earlier this year to add Carnival-specific touches. Those include staple venues like the Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse and JavaBlue Cafe.

But the line leans into the ship’s Italian motif. The ship’s atrium was designed with Florence’s Piazza del Duomo in mind and the Lido deck takes influence from the Italian Riviera. There’s even a replica of Michelangelo’s David on board that was previously on Carnival Pride (the real sculpture is located in Florence’s Accademia Gallery).

The theme extends to the food and drink options, with eateries like Italian specialty restaurant Il Viaggio, Mexican-Italian fusion venue Tomodoro and La Strada Grill, serving Italian street food. Frizzante specializes in bubbly drinks, and passengers can sip craft cocktails and Italian coffee at Amari.

Other features include the WaterWorks water park and Serenity Adult-Only Retreat.

How much does Carnival Firenze cost?

Prices vary based on sailing date and other factors, but a five-day Mexican Riviera cruise departing on May 30 currently starts at $409 per person based on double occupancy, according to Carnival’s website . The fare includes much of the food on the ship, drinks like regular coffee and iced tea and more.

Carnival Firenze Arrives in Long Beach Ahead of Inaugural Cruise

  • April 24, 2024

Carnival Firenze

Carnival Cruise Line’s new Carnival Firenze has arrived in California ahead of its inaugural cruise. After a month-long repositioning voyage that started in Spain, the 2021-built vessel docked in Long Beach for the first time on April 23, 2024.

Sailing around South America, the Carnival Firenze also made technical stops in the Canary Islands, Argentina, and Chile before arriving in California. The ship is fresh off its conversion from Costa to Carnival at Navantia (pictured).

The Vista-Class ship is now scheduled to set sail on its maiden voyage from the port on April 25, 2024. On that day, the Carnival Firenze kicks off a program of three- to seven-night cruises to the Mexican Riviera, California and Baja Mexico.

Ports of call include Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta, in addition to Catalina Island.

For its maiden voyage, the Firenze is scheduled to offer a seven-night cruise to the Mexican Riviera. The itinerary features three full days at sea, as well as visits to Mazatlán, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas.

Previously operated by Costa Cruises, the Carnival Firenze joins Carnival Cruise Line’s new Carnival Fun Italian Style concep.

The product combines the company’s traditional venues, service, and experiences with an Italian vibe and atmosphere.

With a design inspired by the Italian city of Florence, the 4,232-guest ship offers themed public areas and staterooms. One of the main dining rooms is named after Michelangelo, the Renaissance sculptor and painter that was born in the city.

The Carnival Firenze also offers signature venues of the Carnival Cruise Line fleet, including an Italian-themed version of Guy’s Burger Joint, a European-themed Limelight Lounge and a complete Hero’s Tribute Bar.

Also unique to the vessel and its sister ship Carnival Venezia is a customized livery, which combines Costa’s funnel with Carnival’s new hull design. As a nod to the ship’s roots, however, the red stripe on the hull was painted yellow.
