Discover Wales 5-Day Small-Group Tour from London

A super small group of 8 of us thoroughly enjoyed our time together in Wales, with 5 'oldies' and 3 young people who gelled well both with each other and with us 'oldies'. Graham (and Kate) were excellent guides, although I did wonder at times if there would have been more chat with us if Graham wasn't teaching Kate the details of the tour at the same time... It made it a bit difficult at times to break into their conversation with a question we may have had about a point of interest. Graham went out of his way to fulfil special requests where possible and his experience shone out. In the cool and rainy weather, accommodation with a night meal option would have been great at each hotel.

Britain & Ireland Discovery (Classic, 22 Days)

We just returned from our trip around the British Isles and we loved it but to give credit to Greg who made the tour extra special. I cannot imagine a tour guide as good as Greg. From his use of music to set the mood and the veritable treasure trove of facts. I really enjoyed our stops in the pubs. And for someone with physical issues I really appreciated the luggage delivered to our hotel rooms. At the start and end of the day Greg addressed all the tour group if any questions arose.Then when several members of the tour started coughing he was Jonny on the spot with sprays and disinfectants. The tour could have been improved by skipping Inverness as it had our least favorite room and while my wife and I think most meals lacked flavour the kitchen at the hotel took the cake for poorest food. Also the floor in our room and the dining hall could have used a good vacuum. I must give a shout out to Lee our driver who was the epitome of smooth!

Today, we will head to a fantastic local Butterfly Centre, home to hundreds of species. They will flutter around, watch our for one landing on your head! After this we take a short trip to Wales and the town of Abergavenny - just a stone’s throw away from your hotel. Here, we’ll enjoy a traditional Welsh cream tea and visit Abergavenny’s vibrant market, where you can pick up souvenirs, check out the stalls and soak up the town’s relaxed atmosphere.

Day 5 - Until Next Time

Your base for the duration of the holiday will be a converted chapel whose owners have more than 50 years of experience providing high-quality, accessible accommodation and are renowned for the warmth with which they welcome every guest. With a beautiful garden that boasts panoramic views of the Wye Valley, this is a truly special hotel that makes for a fantastic place to relax and unwind at the end of the day.
