Datsik Dropped From His Label, Cancels All Remaining Tour Dates

' src=

Since the news broke of the multiple allegations of sexual assault and abuse by Firepower Records boss and Shambhala Music Festival veteran Datsik, the internet has been ablaze. Datsik, aka Troy Beetles, has been a notorious and often polarizing face in the EDM scene, with his wild on and off-stage antics talked about in many circles, while his tunes have consistently received worldwide acclaim.

But now, things have changed .

In the 24 hours since this news became public knowledge, the internet has taken up arms. Space Jesus, who himself faced allegations come up surrounding similar behavior, often in the same situations as Datsik, has removed himself from Datsik’s sprawling Ninja Nation Tour, alongside both Riot Ten and Carbin, all of whom cite the allegations against Beetles as their reasoning for removing themselves from the tour. Space Jesus has yet to publicly address the personal allegations against him.

{ EDIT: Since publication Space Jesus has since spoke out on this matter in a post pictured below}

Beyond those three, the EDM scene has clearly drawn a line in the sand, and that line is easy to follow. Sexual assault  is not cool in any capacity , and the scene is finally starting to follow suit. Even Datsik’s longtime friend and collaborator, and arguably the man responsible for his music career, Excision, stepped forward with a statement.

datsik tour 2023

Other artists have taken to social media to speak their respective pieces as well, appearing to pull little in the way of punches toward Beetles.

Yo bro, your deception isn't fooling anyone but yourself. Own up to your actions and accept the consequences. Have some fucking honor. — Krewella (@Krewella) March 15, 2018

https://twitter.com/Jauzofficial/status/974050797288747008

Over the last 24-hours, Datsik’s situation has continued to unfold, following his less-than-stellar “apology” posted late yesterday. This morning, Beetles made the following announcement:

The final blow came this afternoon, when Firepower Records, Datsik’s home label that he started, would be ceasing ties with Beetles effective immediately, putting sole operations in the hands of Sharra Duggan, his longtime business partner.

In less than 24 hours we have watched a prolific artist go from hero to zero, setting a precedent rarely seen in the EDM scene. Beetles has locked his Twitter account, and the lonely story post above is the last remaining shred of new life on his social media channels. Sexual assault has been a major issue swept under the rug in this scene for as long as any of us can remember. But with these allegations, and the swift responses by fans and management alike, we can see that it is finally being treated with the severity that these issues demand.

Whether there will be legal action against Beetles or any of the other accused remains to be seen, but we will update with any information going forward.

Important things happen in Pacific Northwest nightlife, and DMNW will send you alerts!

26 years old, with a voracious appetite for bass, dancing, all things art, and a flair for the dramatic, Jamie Gib grew up in the rave scene, having been introduced to electronic music in the late 90s as a small child from his cousin and he joined the rave scene in 2004, and never looked back, A DJ, Promoter, Go-Go Dancer, and writer, Jamie has made his mark on the Vancouver Island scene and beyond, having worked or attended 90% of the festivals on the Pacific North West and has no plans on stopping there. If there's dirty house, drum n bass or glitch hop to be heard, you can bet he's not far behind.

What Happened To Datsik? A Look Into the Downfall of the EDM Artist and Where He Is Today

May 28 2023, Updated 7:42 a.m. ET

With the insane amount of social media users in this day and age, news travels fast — especially bad news. " Cancel Culture " is at an all time high, and celebrities have the biggest targets on their backs. One wrong move and a person's career can be over with one tweet. A recent example of how social media can end someone's career starts with EDM artist Datsik .

Who Is Datsik?

Dubstep producer Datsik was born and raised in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada as Troy Beetles. According to Allmusic.com , Datsik saw Canadian DJ and producer Excision’s set at the Shambhala Electronic Music Festival in 2008, which inspired him to take his passion for production to the next level.

Datsik went on to produce “robostep” music, and in 2012, he started his own label called Firepower Records. Under his label, he helped emerging electronic artists release their own tracks.

Datsik was highly praised in the world of electronic music, and his EP “Darkstar” peaked on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums Chart in 2016. Along with his success on the charts, Datsik performed at multiple music festivals, including EDC Las Vegas in 2017.

So, what happened to Datsik?

In March of 2018, Datsik’s success came to a screeching halt when multiple women came out and accused him of sexually assaulting them.

Twitter user @_princesssjay posted three screenshots of what appeared to be a Facebook comment thread discussing first-hand accounts of Datsik sexually abusing women.

“He had sex with my friend, while she was so drunk she couldn’t recall her name, on the hood of a car,” one of the Facebook users wrote. “Then told her to hang on while he went back on the bus and then they left her there.”

A different user shared another disturbing account, writing, “I stopped being a fan of Datsik when I had to pick my best friend up, drunk as f--k with vomit on herself, without any panties (still don’t know if he took them or what), freezing in the middle of winter. She had no phone on her and told him this and he still left her.”

According to a 2018 Billboard article , Datsik was dropped by Deckstar and Circle Talent Agency following the sexual assault allegations made on social media. Datsik was on tour when this all went down, so he had no choice but to cancel the remaining dates on his Ninja Nation tour.

Is Datsik making a comeback?

Datsik released a Facebook video on Nov. 5, 2019 after a year and a half of silence.

“I apologize for my poor behavior and the reckless lifestyle that had a detrimental effect on my relationships. It is a lifestyle that I am no longer practicing and one that I have worked hard to overcome,” he said in the video.

“In the end, when I lost everything I loved, I also lost my self-esteem and hit rock bottom. It was then that I realized that a massive shift of focus was necessary in order to do right by everyone who has supported me, and for me to start the next chapter of my life," he said.

The video is just over seven minutes long, highlighting his battle with anxiety and depression. Many Twitter users are pointing out that he did not once acknowledge the sexual assault allegations made against him. “I’ve done a lot of brainstorming while I’ve been off the radar, and I have some awesome and exciting plans to share with you all soon,” Datsik mentioned towards the end of the video.

Datsik is finally releasing new music.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Datsik (@datsik)

In April of 2023, Datsik announced his return to music with the album "Afterlife".

"Stoked to finally drop this," he said on Instagram. "'Afterlife' marks a new chapter moving forward. Truly grateful for all of your ongoing support over the years, wouldn’t be able to do this without you all.. much more to come!"

He will also be performing the music in upcoming shows.

If you need support, The National Sexual Assault Hotline is available 24/7 at 1-800-656-4673. You will be connected with a trained staff member in your area. Or visit  RAINN.org  to chat online with a support specialist at any time.

Excision, gruesome by name and nature aka Jeff Abel is a dubstep producer and DJ hailing from British Columbia, Canada who has been dropping beats since 2004.

With influences stemming from the likes of English electronic band The Prodigy, Abel dropped out of university in 2005 to pursue his passion for production fascinated by the lack of electronic music in his homeland of Canada. Spending up to 12 hours a day perfecting his craft through online tutorials, Abel adopted the stage name Excision.

In 2005 Abel founded the bass record label Rottun Recordings addressing the apparent lack of an EDM scene in Canada. It was with his label where he would release early material in the form of the “Rottun 2007” mixtape featuring producers such as Noiz, Stenchman and Ultrablack. The following year Excision released his first official single “No Escape” and the same year Abel launched his annual “Shambhala” mixtape.

Releasing his debut EP “Boom EP” in 2009 saw Excision collaborate with fellow producers Flux Pavilion and Datsik featuring the tracks “Boom” and “Calypso” as he rapidly began making a name for himself on the scene. Subsequent EP releases would see him team up with the likes of The SubDivision, Liquid Stranger, Downlink and Bassnectar before embarking upon US tours and bringing forth his memorable stage shows.

In 2011 Excision released his debut full length “X-rated” featuring the tracks “The Underground”, “Execute” and “8 Bit Superhero. 2012 proved a busy year in the Excision camp as he launched dubstep and bass label Destroid Music alongside Downlink and KJ Sawka while also introducing his new range of 250,000 watt sound system at the Boomfest showcase in Colorado, US.

With the release of his second album “Codename X” in 2015, Excision had firmly secured his place as the forerunner in Canadian EDM as he helped inject life into the practically non-existent electronic dance scene in his home territory, influencing the likes of Downlink and Datsik, some of Canada’s finest electronic exports. Making his stamp with his trippy animated live visuals and playing to as many as 20,000 audience members, Excision creates an effervescent and electrifying atmosphere, captivating crowds across the globe.

Live reviews

I have seen Excision multiple time at the BlueStone and several other Venue's, but this show definitely proved that he's getting more and more well known. The amount of people PACKED in to the BlueStone seemed like a freaking fire hazard and well over the amount of people that the BlueStone has capacity for. Because of this, nobody could move!

If someone did move, they were tripping over and shoving their way through people which caused a lot of tension between the patrons. I LOVE seeing Excision and LOVE the BlueStone. In fact my fiancé and I are set to be married there in late 2016.

However because of this last experience with Ex at the BlueStone, I highly doubt I will see him there again. I hate to say this, but it was really that bad. Maybe VIP would have been better, but the experience and sound just isn't the same way up there on the balcony as it is, floor level.

I wish Excision would play at a larger venue not only for the occupancy, but so he could really crank up his watts! There's only so much that the BlueStone can handle and now with Excision being as popular as he is, the BlueStobe is just not a good place for him anymore.

Ticket prices are great there and that's a huge deal to not only the guests, but for the artists. I know Jeff wants to keep his shows affordable and he even said "no DJ should ever charge more than $35 a ticket"

If he were to play at a bigger venue like the LC, not only would ticket prices go up, but the security and staff can be total jerks.

I'd love to see him there, but the LC won't let you in if you have an Ecig or even a OPEN PACK of cigs. Its totally rediculous there. I had to hide a couple hundred dollars worth of ecig stuff behind a bush across the street before they would let me in to see BassNectar. I'm sure they would charge him an arm and a leg to play there, but he'd sell it out, people could actually walk around and past each other without starting a fight or argument. I'd pay more to see him if I knew the venue could crank him to his full potential and would stick with their occupancy code.

Excision. Jeff. Please come back to Columbus Ohio. We love you and will pay a higher fee for a better experience! Thanks =)

Even if you're not a fan of Excision's flavor of EDM, you owe it to yourself to see a fully set up Excision show: it's a great demonstration of how much presentation tech can be set up in a short time and a small place.

As usual, Excision put on a great show ...in spite of a not great venue. Seriously:

- you host winter time dance events and don't have a coat check? That's ok for Vegas or LA, not so much for any city on the Acela corridor

- if I'm at the rail, I shouldn't be nearly 20 feet from the DJ

- if I'm at the rail, my ears should be getting blown out ...bit that's a bit hard when the speaker arrays are mounted 40' straight up

- the claimed capacity is 3500 people, but the dance area is "considerably* smaller than that

- several other annoyances that makes this venue a no-go for further shows (makes me really appreciate how well Echostage is set up and operated)

Squanto was decent, though might have been a better opening act for January's Herobust show.

Sullivan King... He's ok, but feels like the EDM version of nu-metal. Any time I hear him, I can't help but think "had Korn started a decade or so later, they'd be indistinguishable from Sullivan King"

Sellecting more appropriate opening acts for Excision is probably not an easy task.

Jeff Abel, better known by his stage name Excision, is a Canadian dub step producer and DJ who is known for having one of the loudest shows on the circuit. A frequent collaborator with fellow Canadian artist Datsik, the pair have been making waves from their native homeland. Now climbing further and further up festival lineups, Excision knows how to turn a show into an experience.

Beginning with a bass heavy 'Crowd Control' supported by a mass of lights, the audience jump in unison and Abel approaches his decks and begins. His setlist is taken from his debut album and a whole selection of EPs as well as music by some of his favourite artists assured to make the crowd go wild.

When he drops 'First Of The Year' by Skrillex the whole tent goes insane and screams and cheers as the accomplished artist goes about mixing his music. He fades the track into 'Must Be The Feeling' and keeps the crowd dancing along with the bass-heavy dub. You can see why he is an artist on the rise, the live show is slick and effortless.

The doors opened at 8pm, which seemed a little late to get started especially on a week day. With the line rapping around the block, by the time everyone got in the first opener had already started. In my opinion he wasn't very good. I liked the second opener because he incorporated EDM style into his dubstep. The third played to heavy of debstep it didnt sound as good as it could have in my opinion. Excision was great, but the mosh pits hurt. Although they were necessary to move up in the crowd. I liked the paneled screen behind and covering his podium. But in the end this concert ended around 1am. Too late for a school night as most of the people there looked like high schoolers.

Absolutely SICK! Excision is one of my favorites, and I was so stoked when I heard he was coming to Buffalo. Made sure to get my ticket ASAP, because (just as I knew it would) this show sold out. The visuals were absolutely wild and off the hook, I couldn't get enough! He dropped some of my faves - ROBO KITTY!!! - and I jammed out all night. Can't wait to see him again!

SEE EXCISION. If you like dubstep. If you like rude bass. If you like amazing sound systems and loud dub, then go. I have seen Excision twice and he made me go crazy each time. He can throw down a show. He is a beast DJ. He always plays his best stuff which is bomb. You will not be disappointed. Be prepared to dance. Enjoy.

Excision was amazing! I first saw Excision at Identity festival and then i saw him at Electric Forest! but this was my first time seeing him with his new stage & it was fantastic! So if you like filthy dubstep and excellent visuals go see Excision as soon as possible ! And get tix fast, it sold out last night!

Excision was the best rave I've ever been to! The opening acts SUCKED in my honest opinion but when excision came on, I was so excited!!!! Was tempted to leave during figures act but I'm so glad I stayed!! It was an amazing experience! The bass was INSANE. Thanks for such a memorable night! (:

I can't find the words to describe the experience. It was amazing, mind-blowing, breath-taking! This was my first Dubstep show and was amazed. The moment that the curtain dropped and the bass hit me... Speachless! Felt all the bass rush through my body (even my pants were shaking.) Loved it!

Incredible light show, great music, great crowd!

I saw liquid stranger who plagued right before him and he was really good! I would go to a show where he headlines for sure.

After a morning of monitoring strong storms that have affected states from Texas to Florida, Masters officials announced the gates will open to the patrons at 9:30 a.m., and honorary starters Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Tom Watson will tee off at 10:10, followed by the first tee time in the 89-player field, Jake Knapp and Erik van Rooyen at 10:30.

Updated: Wednesday, April 10 10 a.m. ET: AUGUSTA, Ga. – The first round of the 88th Masters Tournament could be affected by inclement weather as dangerous conditions are predicted to arrive early Thursday.

There’s a 90% chance of showers and thunderstorms prior to 1 p.m., with wind gusts of 40-45 mph between 8 a.m. ET and noon. That would create potentially dangerous conditions and push back tee times, possibly bringing Friday into play for the conclusion of Round 1.

Last year’s Masters was also affected by weather, with second-round play pushed to Saturday and third-round play pushed to Sunday, when eventual winner Jon Rahm and co-runner-up Brooks Koepka played 30 holes.

Severe weather began slamming the southern United States on Tuesday night, continued into Wednesday and was expected to reach the Augusta area first thing Thursday.

According to the Masters Tournament weather update:

“A cold front is forecast to bring a band of rain and scattered thunderstorms through the region between 6 a.m.-1 p.m. ET Thursday. Heavy rainfall and occasional wind gusts of 40-45 mph are anticipated over this period. A lull in precipitation should occur behind the cold front between 1-4 p.m. ET before scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms drift back into the region for the late afternoon and evening hours.

“Windy conditions persist Friday under mostly sunny skies as a dry and stable airmass settles into the area. Mostly sunny skies can be expected through the weekend with west to southwesterly winds in the 7-15 mph range.”

  • Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a 90% chance of showers and thunderstorms prior to 1 p.m. ET. Partly cloudy with a 40% chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms after 4 p.m. Forecast rainfall: 1-1 1/2 inches. Wind gusts of 40-45 mph between 8 a.m.-noon. Low: 65F High: 77F Winds: S shifting SW 15-25; gusts 30-35 mph.
  • Friday: Mostly sunny and windy. Noticeably less humid. Low: 54F High: 72F Winds: W 15-20; gusts 30 mph.
  • Saturday: Mostly sunny and warm. Low: 49F High: 78F Winds: WNW turning W 7-15 mph.
  • Sunday: Mostly sunny and warm. Low: 53F High: 84F Winds: W turning SW 7-15 mph.

The Masters has dealt with its share of weather conditions in recent years. The final round of Tiger Woods’ iconic 2019 victory came hours earlier than scheduled to avoid impending storms. Last year’s leaders played 30 holes on Sunday as storms wiped out much of the third round.

This year’s Masters is largely devoid of rainy conditions, with Thursday as the lone exception. According to the official Augusta National weather forecast, there is an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday, with an expected rainfall of 1.00-1.50 inches.

“Isolated light showers are possible Tuesday and Wednesday before rain and thunderstorms arrive early Thursday and continue throughout the morning hours. A cold front is expected to pass through in the early afternoon, with diminishing precipitation chances for the remainder of Thursday. Thunderstorm wind gusts of 40-45 mph will be possible,” the official forecast stated.

Conditions are expected to clear up by Thursday afternoon and stay dry through the rest of the tournament. Here’s a day-by-day breakdown of the official Augusta National weather forecast:

  • Monday: Mostly sunny. Low: 48F High: 79F Winds: S 7-10 mph
  • Tuesday : Cloudy with a 25% chance of light showers. Low: 58F High: 77F Winds: SSE 5-10 mph
  • Wednesday : Cloudy with a 20% chance of light showers during the day and a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Low: 62F High: 80F Winds: S-SE 10-15, gusts up to 20 mph
  • Thursday : Mostly cloudy with an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Windy. Forecast rainfall: 1.00-1.50” Low: 65F High: 78F Winds: S shifting SW 15-20 gusts up to 30 mph

Taylor swift didn’t need lucrative side hustles to become a billionaire.

Taylor Swift officially landed on Forbes’ billionaires list on Tuesday, April 2. But what distinguishes the 34-year-old singer-songwriter from other wealthy artists is how she accumulated her billion-dollar fortune.

The Miss Americana star ranked No. 2,545 on Forbes’ World’s Billionaires List . According to Forbes , there are more billionaires than ever before (141 more than last year and 26 more than the 2021 record), with their collective worth reaching $14.2 trillion. Swift’s inclusion comes after Forbes declared the singer a billionaire in October 2023 and reported her net worth at $1.1 billion.

In a rare feat, Swift is the first musician to reach the milestone solely from songwriting and performing. Her fortune doesn’t largely derive from profitable side hustles (think: beauty brands, fashion lines, alcohol investments, etc.), which have been typical avenues for entertainers to become billionaires in recent years. This puts her in a unique category with artists like Bruce Springsteen, who earned $1 billion from on the road touring.

More than $500 million of Swift’s fortune is from music royalties and touring. She made an estimated $190 million after taxes from the first leg of the Eras tour and another $35 million from the first two weeks of screenings of the corresponding concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour , which became the highest-grossing concert movie in history.

Meanwhile, another $500 million of her earnings came from the increasing value of her music catalog. Her masters (Swift’s first six albums) were infamously purchased in 2019 by Scooter Braun and eventually sold to Shamrock Capital for $300 million in 2020.

“This is my worst case scenario. This is what happens when you sign a deal at fifteen to someone for whom the term ‘loyalty’ is clearly just a contractual concept,” Swift penned on Tumblr in 2019 when she learned that Braun had bought her masters. “Now Scooter has stripped me of my life’s work, that I wasn’t given an opportunity to buy. Essentially, my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it.”

At the time, Swift also parted ways with her long-time home, Big Machine Label Group, to join Universal Music Group’s Republic Records, a deal that would give the superstar complete ownership over songwriting and the recordings, ultimately boosting her earnings in the long run.

"I'm ecstatic to announce that my musical home will be Republic Records and Universal Music Group," Swift wrote on Instagram about the news. "Over the years, [UMG chief] Sir Lucian Grainge and [Republic chief] Monte Lipman have been such incredible partners. It's so thrilling to me that they, and the UMG team, will be my label family moving forward. It's also incredibly exciting to know that I'll own all of my master recordings that I make from now on."

Since switching labels, Swift has released four new albums, Lover, Folklore, Evermore and Midnights, and re-recorded Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Red (Taylor’s Version), Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) and 1989 (Taylor’s Version ). Swift’s the sole writer on over one-fourth of her top 50 Billboard chart hits, although she frequently shares writing credits with collaborators like Jack Antonoff and Max Martin, who also get a portion of a record sale.

On April 19, the pop star will release her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, which will also add to her massive earnings. Swift announced the new record during her Album of the Year win acceptance speech at the 2024 Grammy Awards in February.

While becoming a billionaire, the singer made a huge monetary impact on the NFL. Swift created a brand value equivalent of $331.5 million for the Chiefs and the league, according to data from Apex Marketing Group . That number comes from print, digital, radio, TV, highlights, and social media mentioning Swift from her first game on Sept. 24 to Jan. 22.

One of Swift’s many accomplishments from last year also includes being named Time Magazine’s 2023 Person of the Year. In her interview with journalist Sam Lansky, Swift told the magazine that “this is the proudest and happiest I’ve ever felt, and the most creatively fulfilled and free I’ve ever been.”

No. 1 Boston College will take on No. 3 Denver in the 2024 DI men's ice hockey national championship on Saturday at 6 p.m on ESPN2.

Top-seeded Boston College cruised through Michigan with a 4-0 shutout to advance to its first title game since 2012.

It took overtime for Denver to clinch its spot in the national title game. Tristan Broz sniped home the OT winner to send the Pios' to its second title game in three years.

These two times met in October as two of the top-three ranked teams in the nation. Denver escaped Conte Forum with an electric 4-3 win.

🏒 Boston College is back to the national championship game

Boston College celebrates in the Frozen Four

A dominant, 4-0, victory over Michigan sends Boston College through to its first title game since 2012.

The stars all shined in the win for the Eagles. Freshman Will Smith extended his national lead on points, with two goals for his 70th and 71st points of the season. Cutter Gauthier and Gabe Perreault also scored for BC to help them continue their run as the tournament's top seed.

Freshman goalie Jacob Fowler picked up his third shutout of the season, making a save on each of Michigan's 32 shots on net.

Freshman Gabe Perreault scores his 19th goal of the season on a brilliant wrap-around to give BC a 4-0 lead and inch closer to a trip to the national title.

This goal was Perreault's third point of the night after assisting on each of the first two goals of the game from Will Smith.

🏒 END 2: BC triples its lead

Boston College celebrates after a second period goal

Two quick 4-on-4 goals extend Boston College's lead over Michigan to 3-0.

Jacob Fowler has continued his postseason excellence in net this game, with 15 saves on 15 shots faced from Michigan.

The Wolverines have been active in this game, out-shooting Boston College 15-13, while also drawing three penalties. But costly mistakes have kept Brandon Naurato's club quiet through 40 minutes.

Cutter Gauthier's second period goal was his 38th of the season, the most in the NCAA since 2005-06.

Then, just 49 seconds later, Cutter Gauthier took advantage of a Michigan miscue and snapped one into the back of the net on a breakaway to make it a 3-0 game.

Both of these goals came at 4-on-4 after one player on each team was called for a tripping penalty.

Will Smith's early first period goal still stands as the only score at the end of 20 minutes.

Michigan was the better team for the majority of the period, but Jacob Fowler was brilliant in net for the Eagles, making nine saves on nine shots. Michigan's Jake Barczewski made five saves on six Boston College shots.

Tristan Broz's overtime laser sends Denver back to the national championship game for the first time since winning the title in 2022.

Matt Davis was excellent in net for the Pioneers, with 33 saves on 35 shots from BU. The Terriers had opportunity after opportunity, especially in the extra frame, but couldn't squeeze one past Davis in the last 64+ minutes of game action.

The overtime goal was the 40th point of the season for Broz, and his second goal so far this tournament. His winner takes Denver to Saturday night's national championship game, set for 6 p.m. ET on Saturday.

🏒 Overtime in St. Paul!

A high-event third period ends scoreless, with No. 2 BU tied with No. 3 Denver 1-1.

Denver will play the first 47 seconds of overtime on the power play after BU took a boarding penalty with just over one minute left in regulation. This will be the second Frozen Four game in a row to reach the extra frame, after Quinnipiac won the 2023 national championship game in overtime.

BU's Mathieu Caron absolutely robs Aidan Thompson late in the second period to keep the score even at one.

The Terriers opened the scoring in the first period, but the second 20 minutes was mostly headlined by Denver controlling play.

At the end of two periods, we are all tied at 1, with a trip to Saturday's national championship on the line.

Denver's Tristan Lemyre took advantage of a wide-open slot by beating BU goalie Mathieu Caron to even the score at one.

Thursday's goal was the second of the season for Tristan Lemyre, who was listed today as the 13th forward for Denver.

🏒 END 1: BU leads 1-0

Boston University celebrates after scoring the game's first goal

Luke Tuch's shorty stands as the only goal in the first period. Denver managed only three shots on goal in the first period — and all three were swallowed by BU's Mathieu Caron.

With 40 minutes left to play, Boston U leads 1-0.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).
