Forclaz Trek 100 Easyfit 50L Backpack Review
On a recent overnight in Wyoming’s Wind River Range, I tested the Forclaz Trek 100 Easyfit 50L Hiking Backpack by Decathlon which proved a lightweight and comfortable option.
The thought and care put into designing this pack to make it efficient in terms of both features and function is evident. Here are some of the features that stood out:
Easyfit Adjustability
I took the Decthalon Forclaz Trek 100 Easyfit 50L Hiking Backpack on a trip to Wyoming’s Wind River Range. I’m always wary when trying new packs out as they often pull and tug at my shoulders, but I was pleased with how the Forclaz sat on hips.
While carrying a heavy set-up with a full rack and rope, the pack comfortably distributed the load in the proper places.
The shoulder straps are adjustable and can be adjusted by sliding them on the aluminum plates on the back of the pack. The red straps on the side of the pack can be pulled while wearing the pack which made for easy adjustment on the trail.
Compartment Layout
The Forclaz Trek 100 Easyfit 50L Hiking Backpack boasts a thoughtful compartment design. There are five separate compartments in the pack not including the water pouch storage on the side which securely holds a liter bottle. I was most impressed with the center compartment which zips down from the top; this made packing and unpacking gear easy and effortless.
The compartment on the hip belt was the perfect size for snacks and can hold a phone or small or other small personal items for easy access. It’s also worth mentioning that the water bottle pouch on the side was made to last.
It is made with the same durable material as the rest of the pack and securely holds a Nalgene sized bottle (no need to worry about losing your bottle on those steeper, scrambly sections).
Overall Impression
Overall, I appreciated the simplicity of the pack and I truly felt the layout of the compartments made organizing gear a smooth and satisfying process. The Forclaz Trek 100 Easyfit 50L Hiking Backpack is a lightweight pack that is an ideal option for anyone looking for a comfortable pack for a weekend backpacking trip. The pack can be purchased here from Decathlon for an astoundingly reasonable price of $119.00 .
This pack is well worth the money. The Easyfit design feature allows the user to adjust the pack to fit securely, and allows for an enjoyable experience on the trail. This feature along with the compartment design and durable materials make the Forclaz Trek 100 a great addition to any backpacker’s arsenal of packs.

Decathlon Forclaz Trek 100 hiking boot review
The decathlon forclaz trek 100s are pocket-friendly, fuss-free walking boots for more casual use.
Advnture Verdict
A very pocket-friendly choice for casual or new-to-the-trails walkers, and a decent second option if you already own a more rugged and expensive technical boot that’s capable of hoofing at a higher level.
Great value for money
Waterproof enough to wear in rain
Decent grip
Not waterproof enough for prolonged bad weather use

First impressions
Decathlon’s hiking boots offer some of the best value for money around, and these no-nonsense boots are our top pick from their women’s walking boot range.
The Decathlon Forclaz Trek 100 has a built-in waterproof membrane that we found offered enough protection from steady rain on shorter hikes or dog walks, and the good-looking leather outer material punches above its price point when it comes to suppleness and comfort.
- The best hiking boots to buy right now
- The best women's walking boots recommended
- Get geared up! What to wear hiking – top picks
A padded neck offers a nice sock-like fit around the ankles, and the soles offer good enough grip to see you through walks on flatter terrain in fair or foul weather.
The Forclaz Trek 100 isn’t the most breathable boot we tested, and your feet would definitely overheat on a blazing summer’s day, but for a smidge under £60/$90, they offer great value for money for cooler weather adventures.
• RRP: $90 (US) / £60 (UK) • Weight (per boot): 502g /1lb 1.7oz • Materials: Leather and PU upper; Polyester lining; Thermoplastic Polyurethane sole • Colours: Brown • Compatibility: A great first walking boot for day hikes and country bimbles
In the field
We tested the Forclaz Trek 100 from spring to autumn on trails and more relaxed path walking in the UK and Europe. It’s definitely not the most breathable boot we tested, and your feet would overheat on a blazing summer’s day, but it can certainly contend with more expensive casual boots in cooler weather.
We reckon that on walks under the 10-mile mark the Forclaz is comfortable, bouncy despite its heftier weight, and rainproof enough that you don’t need to worry if the heavens open. There’s a nice flex to the design, and the boots feel like they mold to your feet over time.
Grip is decent on well-made paths, but didn’t cut the mustard when we ventured onto slippy rock or tougher surfaces such as scree. We rated the cuffs on test, which are comfortable and really hug your ankles, with good laces that you can strap up tightly to two top hooks to offer good support.
For the lightweight pricetag, Decathlon’s Forclaz offers great value for money for cooler weather adventures – this a good casual boot to choose if you already own a more technical mountain-bound boot.

Golite Jam Light and tough.
Nigor Zero-G, the 'spititual successor' to the above Golite Jam. At 53L and 1.1kg and tough and versatile - it's a good package for a rigid pack. Used it for 5 years now for 8kg-12kg loads. Currently looking to replace it with a lighter pack (around 750g) in the 40-45L range (tempted by @FOX160 's Hyberg among others). The structure of your new 1.9kg 70L Decathlon reminds me of my old Berghaus C7 65+10L pack, which was similarly weighty. My experience is that if you use a larger pack you find more stuff to put inside it! If you want to stay with a framed pack with ventilated back, but would like to more than halve the weight, you might wish to consider this one from Osprey - 896g (Large) and 63L but more expensive of course. https://www.ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/equipment-c3/rucksacks-c19/levity-60-litre-rucksack-p8568

I've always been happy with Decathlon packs. My 3 season camping pack is still the 38L Forclaz UL. Well made packs. My winter pack was the 60L Symbium Access 60 + 10. and that was a great carry despite it being a weighty beast. Only after a few back problems I opted for a lighter pack to see me on my winter travels.
Quechua Forclaz Easyfit 50 Rucksack Review
The Forclaz might not be the coolest pack on the market, but it gets all the basics right: it’s comfortable, stable and packs in a lot of kit. The padding on the hip belt and shoulder straps is thick and soft, and the back system boasts a bed of foam which cushions the back against all the tinned sardines, water filters, and other trekking paraphernalia (though the foam can get a little sweaty on climbs). A front opening zip allows quick, holdall-style access to the main compartment, and the back length can be adjusted while you’re wearing the pack thanks to a couple of nifty straps connecting the hip belt and the shoulder straps. Within minutes of hauling it onto my back, the load felt comfortable, secure and manageable. The one question which goes begging is, how long will it last? Compared to other packs on test, the fabric feels thin and flimsy and the pocket zips look vulnerable. Still, for £65, few will be disappointed with the Forclaz.

Forclaz Trek 100 jacket review
- February 6, 2021
View this post on Instagram A post shared by Dan Jones (@wildcamping.lifeuk)
Reviewer: Dan Jones Instagram: wildcamping.lifeuk Product: Forclaz Trek 100
Looking for a Down jacket but don’t want to spend 100s on one. I’ve been testing out the Forclaz Trek 100 Down Jacket from Decathlon. A budget Down jacket coming in at just 49.99€.
Here are my thoughts 🤔
First of all, I’m totally buzzing that there is a down jacket on the market that doesn’t break the bank. At first, judging by the price it seems too good to be true right?
This is a solid jacket in terms of price, fit (no-frills, and I like its simplicity), and performance. It doesn’t feature the popular Pertex outer shell that the more expensive RAB Down jackets are made of but the nylon material of the Forclaz is water repellant and is surprisingly good at keeping you dry from moisture such as snow, light rain, and fog.
This RDS-certified down and feather jacket is promoted to keep you warm between +5° and -5°C. I’ve tested the jacket down to -3 with no issues at all. With a layering system, this jacket becomes a very warm jacket indeed.
Certain aspects of Forclaz Trek 100 jacket fall below average such as the cheap zips and some of the baffles hardly containing any down fill at all. The hood isn’t a snug fit so I found when the wind did pick up the hood had a tendency to get blown off my head.
Setting aside the cons which you would expect from a down jacket this cheap it still did the job. It kept me incredibly warm when it needed to.
WEIGHT OF THE FILLING: XS: 82 g S: 88 g M: 94 g L: 101 g XL: 108 g 2XL: 115 g 3XL: 124 g
The overall weight of the jacket I’ve been testing out (size Large) comes in at 290g which is pretty light considering its warmth value.
Up to yet, I haven’t had any durability issues with the jacket.
Is it ever going to compete with RAB? No, but Forclaz Trek 100 is not made to compete with top-end down jackets. It’s aimed at the budget market. But as budget Down jackets go, this is by far the best on the market. For a Down jacket under €50, it most definitely is one of my favorite winter jackets which I can just throw into my daysack.

Forget the teton sports scout - decathlon forclaz trek 100 70l backpack....
Hey Luke. I liked your video on the Forclaz backpack. I wanted to buy one, but they are sold out at the Walmart and the Decathlon web sites. I was wondering if you knew of any other outlets that may sell them. Funny thing... I tried Ebay. They don't have this exact model, but there was another Forclaz model for $60. I got all excited until I saw the shipping was over $90! I saw another pack there for about $90 and the shipping was almost $300!!! Craziness! Anyway, love your channel. New follower. Watched the snow camping video with Suzie and noticed you were still using this backpack. So I figured it's probably worth buying. - John

Backpacker gear 360 review.
For the most part, down performs like down no matter what garment it’s packaged into, and the non-hydrophobic, 800-fill variety in the Trek 100 works just as well as it would in a jacket four times as expensive. (Decathlon, a European retailer, keeps costs down through in-house designs and sheer volume.) When the temps dropped into the low 40s while our tester backpacked in Alaska’s Caines Head State Park, it was all the warmth he needed over a baselayer. The Trek 100 scrunches down (in its own pocket) to the size of a football. It also slips in well under the 10-ounce barrier, which is mind-boggling given that it costs only $80. Thanks to a burly, 15-denier nylon face fabric, this jacket would have scored higher in durability if it weren’t for a dinky main zipper. We found it hard to use, especially in the cold, and prone to separating. (We fixed it easily with a multitool, though.) Feathers stayed in and seams stayed tight over a year of use, and a DWR treatment knocked back light precipitation. Features-wise, the Trek 100 comes with a snug-fitting hood (with a single cinch in back) and a high collar, zippered hand pockets, and a hem cinch. Our only complaint about the fit is that the cuffs feel a bit too tight, especially if you’re wearing a watch.
Robin Mino First of all, I’m totally psyched that there is a down jacket that doesn’t break the bank. It kept me nice and toasty on multiple backpacking trips here in Colorado when temps went down into the low 40s. There is a very generous length to both the trunk and sleeves, which is a feature I absolutely love. I’m happy to report the jacket did not allow that “bottom-of-your-back breeze” when I was bending over or sitting. It was a huge bonus on some brisk mornings. This is a solid jacket in terms of price, fit (no frills, and I like its simplicity), and performance. I would totally buy this jacket, as it performed much better than my other down jackets.

Comfortable and large capacity, perfect for backpackers
I bought the bag not long ago, so far I am satisfied with it. Comfortable good design. I originally wanted a 40-liter bag, but I couldn't find a suitable option, so it became a 50-liter bag.
Satisfied with this purchase, the only negative point that I can point out would be the lack of straps at the base of the bag to attach a tent for example
There is no lock, it is not possible to put a padlock on it and the lock opens very easily
it is a good backpack for trekking and casually carrying things in this backpack
Returned yesterday from Bali where he trudged without ever disappointing for 2 weeks, my bag is perfect. Returned as tidy as it left thanks to compartments purchased separately, the suitcase-style opening is great. I recommend.
Good backpack.
comfortable and economical backpack, it does its job
Very good backpack!
excellent product, roomy and perfect to carry
Excellent value for money. The backpack has a nice shape, numerous pockets and compartments and is suitable both for trekking but also as travel luggage.
Left for 8 days by plane to go walking on the other side of the world, this bag is great. I put shoes jackets and several days of clothes in it It is comfortable and large
Comfortable, even if the shoulder straps are a little stiff and the lumbar strap tends to gradually widen as you walk
I bought it for a several-month trip to Asia, and it worked great. It has been through a lot with me and is still in very good condition. The backpack is comfortable to carry and holds a lot in it. I definitely recommend it ❤️
Large volume, easy to use
Additional Product Information
Product information +, composition.
Main fabric: 100.0% Polyester ; Lining: 100.0% Polyester ; Webbing: 100.0% Polypropylene ; Coating: 100.0% Polyurethane
How do i fill my bag for optimal comfort?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Put heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near your back. Pack your clothes around these items. You can place mats under the flap if there is no space inside; Keep a rainproof jacket and fleece close at hand. Keep a rainproof jacket and fleece close at hand. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. If carrying a hydration pack (water bladder), this should be placed in its special pocket along the back.
How to adjust your backpack height?
Set the bag for the height you think will be correct and then adjust it (see. InchHow do I adjust my backpack?Inch). With the belt on your pelvis, put the straps around the front part of your shoulders and the load adjuster straps (which are sometimes also height-adjustable) at an angle of around 45° (they should never be horizontal or vertical). When trying it on, if the back seems too short or too long, readjust and try again until you are satisfied.
How do i adjust my backpack?
First, loosen all straps (shoulder straps, belt, load adjuster straps). Put the backpack on. For backpacks with a capacity of 50 L or more, place the hip belt correctly (it should sit over the pelvis) and tighten it. With smaller size bags, place around waist. Tighten the shoulder straps. Finally, adjust the load adjuster straps as needed.
How is bag volume measured?
The volume of each backpack is measured using a standard method: we use small balls to fill the main compartment as well as each pocket. We then empty these balls into a graduated container, which gives the equivalent volume in litres, with a tolerance of a few percent. The weight indicated is that of our benchmark sample. There may be slight variations.
10-year guarantee
The guarantee covers any backpack faults, except those caused by normal wear and tear and improper use. This special 10-year warranty will only be granted upon presentation of the receipt and the product, if the product is covered by warranty, it will be repaired or exchanged, free of charge. This commercial guarantee does not exclude the legal guarantees applicable depending on the country and / or state.
Water compartment
The bag has an inner compartment to store a water bladder. This is sold separately from the backpack.
Protect your bag from the rain
The backpack is not waterproof. We recommend you kit yourself out with a rain cover, available separately, if you predict threatening weather conditions.
All the backpack buckles can be repaired and are available as spare parts if broken.
Product testing
Using lab and field tests, we check the bag's resistance to abrasion and tearing, its colour-fastness under UV light and washing, and its water resistance. Then, the weighted backpack is placed on a dummy that simulates ageing by replicating thousands of fast walking movements, to check the durability of assemblies. The components (fabrics, buckles, straps, foam, zips, etc.) are also tested separately so that we can guarantee these bags for 10 years.

The Forclaz Trek 100 Easyfit 50L Hiking Backpack boasts a thoughtful compartment design. There are five separate compartments in the pack not including the water pouch storage on the side which securely holds a liter bottle. I was most impressed with the center compartment which zips down from the top; this made packing and unpacking gear easy ...

Better to invest in a lighter, stronger pack. But for what I use it for: a long weekend once in a while or a 1 week/10 day hiking holiday during summer vacation it's perfectly fine. It's a budget backpack that goes great with their cheapest 2-person tent (it's pretty light without being an ultralight €700 tent and that for €30!), if you use ...

The Decathlon Forclaz Trek 100 has a built-in waterproof membrane that we found offered enough protection from steady rain on shorter hikes or dog walks, and the good-looking leather outer material punches above its price point when it comes to suppleness and comfort. The best hiking boots to buy right now.
FORCLAZ. Men's Trekking Backpack 50 L - MT100 EASYFIT. 4.6. 835 reviews. The easy-to-adjust 50 L bag offers simplicity and comfort without compromising on technical features, including a RAIN COVER. Perfect for setting off into the great outdoors for a few days. ID 8559690. Color.
Trail Blazer.
The Decathlon Forclaz MT100 (previously named Trek 100) Hooded Puffer Down Jacket is one of the best bang-for-your-buck down jackets in the market today because of its affordability, durability, packability, and warmth. This review covers my experience over one year of traveling with the jacket! PROS: Comfortable, stable, convenient storage and access, great price. CONS: Poor quality materials, little ventilation in back system. Comfort: 5/5. Stability: 4/5. Features: 3/5. Ventilation: 3/5. Best for: Long walks where comfort is the priority - along with price. Review from Country Walking magazine. The Forclaz might not be the coolest ...
The Jacket's Rebrand/Renaming. I noticed the Decathlon Forclaz Trek 100's rebrand/name change in mid-2023 when clicking its link in my YouTube Review. The jacket's webpage page no longer mentioned the Forclaz Trek 100; it now displayed the Forclaz MT100.However, the entire webpage and jacket's features seemed exactly the same - it looked like Decathlon simply changed the jacket's name ...

Looking for a Down jacket but don't want to spend 100s on one. I've been testing out the Forclaz Trek 100 Down Jacket from Decathlon. A budget Down jacket coming in at just 49.99€. BACKPACKER Gear 360 Review. For the most part, down performs like down no matter what garment it's packaged into, and the non-hydrophobic, 800-fill variety in the Trek 100 works just as well as it would in a jacket four times as expensive. (Decathlon, a European retailer, keeps costs down through in-house designs and sheer volume.)
