On June 29, 1999, Iowa-based heavy metal band Slipknot released their critically acclaimed self-titled debut album.

Twenty-five short years later, they’re one of the biggest groups in the world.

However, the heavy octet never forgot where they came from.

To celebrate their humble beginnings, the band is embarking on their 25th Anniversary ‘Here Comes The Pain Tour’ this summer.

From August through September, Corey Taylor and co. will perform at arenas, domes, amphitheaters and festivals all over North America with special guests Knocked Loose , Orbit Culture and Vended joining them on select dates.

New York fans are in luck, too.

Slipknot is scheduled to drop into Madison Square Garden on Monday, Aug. 12.

As for what to expect, the “Duality” group plans on keeping things intimate.

“We’re gonna make it more personal on the anniversary, but how remains to be seen,” Slipknot vocalist and drummer Shawn Crahan shared in a press release. “Just get ready to have your face kicked in. Because we just do what we do, spread that maggot culture — that disease. And you’ve been infected.”

“Maggots” that can’t wait to get infected their hands on tickets are in luck.

At the time of publication, tickets for all of Slipknot’s upcoming North American concerts and festival dates can be scooped up as soon as today.

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, May 3, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

‘Challengers’: Zendaya, JFK Jr., and the Viral ‘I Told Ya’ T-Shirt

Is the “I Told Ya” shirt worn in the film—and now by the stars on the press tour—an emotional Easter egg? A nod to JFK Jr.? A savvy marketing tactic? The answer is: Yes.

Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers is a lot deeper than the “Zendaya-has-a-sexy-threesome” marketing would have had us believe. At its core, it’s a dark portrait of a woman grasping for a taste of her lost love (not a man, but tennis) by engaging in a frenetic, tactical game of back-and-forth (not tennis, but sex).

After I saw a screening of Challengers , I left contemplating the film’s nuanced take on power and obsession—and, bizarrely, my mind kept drifting back to one specific T-shirt. The deceptively simple T-shirt—marl gray with I TOLD YA sprawled across the chest—appears three times on two different characters in Challengers . It has since been replicated on multiple occasions throughout the film's press tour, and today, Loewe has announced an entire “I TOLD YA” collection inspired by the shirt.

What does it mean? Why is this shirt so significant? Could it perhaps hold the key to the film's complex dynamics? These are the questions keeping me up at night, so, I bring you something absolutely no one asked for: the ultimate deep dive into the I TOLD YA shirt from Challengers. I give you fair warning—this is a complicated, multi-layered sartorial journey and you might not like where we end up.

First, a brief overview of the film: Tashi Duncan (Zendaya) is a tennis prodigy. Art (Mike Faist) and Patrick (Josh O’Connor) are doubles partners and they are both obsessed with her. After an almost-threesome in which Tashi makes the boys kiss her and each other, a dynamic unfolds in which Tashi plays with her boy toys, telling them how they can win her heart—it usually involves them being really good at hitting a ball. While dating Patrick, Tashi suffers a horrific knee injury and her career is cut short. Later, she couples up with Art and, simultaneously, becomes his coach. Everything comes to a head at a Challenger tournament where the two men battle it out one last time—Tashi still pulling the strings, still metaphorically whacking the ball from off the courts.

Now, onto the shirt. First, we must examine the shirt itself: gray, boxy, sporty, with the three words I TOLD YA printed in three rows in big, black, bold letters. It’s a shirt that has something to say, and says it, loudly and proudly. What do these words imply? Aggression, self-assuredness, a raging ego. In short, everything that makes Tashi a not-so-likable person and a really excellent tennis player. “I told you” implies being right—and a little cocky about it. As in, “I told you so.” As in, “I told you, I am not just your wife, I am your coach and you will do as I say.” Or something like that. I am also intrigued by the use of “ya” rather than “you”—how flippant! How nonchalant! How powerful! From a purely aesthetic perspective, I am also drawn to the three separate lines of text, the word “told” sandwiched between “I” and “ya”—this might be a stretch, but it’s giving threesome.

In the film, the oversized shirt first appears on Tashi during her Stanford days. She wears it during a scene in which she has lunch with Art, who attempts one of his few real power plays in the film. He tells her Patrick, whom Tashi is at this point dating, is no good. Tashi is having none of it. She storms off, the bold letters on shirt offering a final, wordless warning to a deflated Art: “I told you, I’m the one pulling the strings here.”

The shirt’s next appearance is in Tashi’s dorm room when Patrick visits Stanford. The pair start to make out, only to have an angry, pointless row about her tennis career. Patrick grabs his stuff as he storms off, wearing the same “I TOLD YA” T-shirt—which was clearly his all along.

The shirt next appears in a scene when Art is trying to help Tashi rehabilitate her knee. Patrick, gone from their lives and playing on the pro tour, wears it as he watches them from the stands. It’s a ballsy move from Patrick, who, in wearing the shirt, references his old relationship with Tashi. It’s a visual reminder of the power he still holds over both of the players on the court below. Patrick, we realize, is also capable of bold, aggressive moves.

He wears the shirt yet again when he bumps into Tashi at the Challenger tournament, many years later. Now, Tashi is the wife and coach of Art—but Art has lost his zest for tennis and, in turn, she has lost her zest for him. When Patrick turns up in the bold, egotistical shirt from their shared past, it’s an even more bitter echo of the passion Tashi has lost. Now that Art has lost his drive, she might only be able to find it in (or perhaps with the help of) Patrick—a brash man who pulls off the I TOLD YA shirt with ease. And, without giving any spoilers, that’s exactly what happens.

Looking at the shirt’s journey throughout the film, it’s a clear indicator of the power plays taking place between these three characters.

However, there are more layers to unpack.

As costume designer Jonathan Anderson explained in an interview with WWD , the shirt is an exact replica of a shirt worn by JFK Jr. in the ’80s. He wore it tucked into a pair of white shorts paired with a headband while playing with his dog in the park. He looked—well—just like a cocky tennis player. It’s easy to see why Anderson latched onto the look.

“When JFK Jr. was younger, in the ’80s and ’90s, there was kind of an effortlessness to his wardrobe—like he could wear anything, and sex appeal would always be there,” said Anderson, explaining that JFK Jr. became a key inspiration for Patrick’s character.

In another interview, Anderson revealed that the shirt was his favorite look in the entire film, thanks to its layered meaning. “I wanted this t-shirt to kind of reappear twice,” said Anderson to British Vogue . “And as simple as it is it was nice to kind of like to have this little thing that was like my own little thing on top of the character.”

His “own little thing on top of the character” has since become a pretty big (and expensive) thing. O'Connor , Zendaya , and Anderson (Mike Faist still isn’t allowed to tell anyone anything, apparently) have all sported a version of the shirt on the red carpet throughout the press tour. And so, the cynical conclusion to the I TOLD YA shirt saga is that while the shirt, yes, captures all of the beautiful, thorny nuance of the Challengers threesome, and, yes, it’s a perfect sporty ode to JFK Jr.’s chic outfit from the ’80s, it is also a way to sell expensive designer shirts.

Ryan Gosling Wears T-Shirt with Eva Mendes’ Book Title During UK Press Tour

The 'Barbie' alum shared the sweet yet subtle tribute to his longtime partner

Ryan Gosling is supporting Eva Mendes in the cutest way possible!

As the Barbie star, 43, is currently promoting his next film The Fall Guy overseas with Emily Blunt , he’s keeping his partner, 50, near and dear to his heart.

On Monday, April 29, Hits Radio shared a video interview of the costars to the station’s YouTube account. 

In the clip, Gosling is seen wearing a T-shirt that reads, "Desi, Mami, and the Never-Ending Worries” — which happens to be the title of Mendes’ debut children’s book, out later this fall. 

" Desi, Mami and the Never-Ending Worries is a love letter to my kids and yours,” the Hitch actress told PEOPLE exclusively in February.

Gosling and Mendes, who have been together since 2011, are parents to two daughters : Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 8. 

“Learning how to train our brain to work for us and not against us is easier said than done! At my home and in Desi's, we try to deal with the never-ending worries and anxieties that we all have, so those negative thoughts don’t take over and dominate,” she continued.

The book hits shelves on Sept. 17 and will be available in both English and Spanish.

Mendes has previously explained why although she and Gosling have been together for more than a decade, they do not do red carpets together and are rarely seen side by side at other Hollywood events.

Last April, she shared a clip on Instagram of a scene from 2012's The Place Beyond the Pines — a film in which she and Gosling costarred. 

In her caption, she noted that the crime thriller was not their first time meeting. 

While responding to commenters, Mendes said she’s "only comfortable posting" images with Gosling that are already publicly available.

One user made mention of how they would love to see the pair at Barbie events, to which the actress responded, "What a cool comment, thank you. But we don't do those things together."

In early March, a source shared with PEOPLE their take on the couple’s longevity. 

“It truly seems they are surviving Hollywood as a couple, because of the way they‘ve handled being famous. They try their best to stay out of the spotlight," the insider said.

"For them, the most important job is their girls . Everything else comes second," the source continued. 

As far as major events, such as this year’s Academy Awards, which Mendes was not present for, the insider added: "Of course, Eva is proud and excited for Ryan . She still sees it as a job though."

The Fall Guy arrives in theaters on Friday, May 3.

Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson and Ryan Reynolds allegedly got into a fight while filming “Red Notice” after the wrestler continually arrived late to set.

TMZ reported Tuesday that Reynolds, 47, confronted Johnson, 51, about his tardiness during the production of the 2021 Netflix film because it affected their shooting schedule, which was already complicated due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We’re told the actors — who are “good” now — talked it out and there were no further issues between the two.

“There was no stomping off set … no loud argument that’s not true,” a source tells Page Six, adding that the their disagreement is “water under the bridge.”

“They’re professionals,” the insider adds, pointing out that the rift happened “at the height of COVID” when “tensions were high.”

Tardiness has allegedly been an issue for the WWE star on multiple sets.

A source told the Wrap that Johnson was “seven to eight” hours late each day while filming his forthcoming action-adventure comedy film, “Red One.”

The dad of three allegedly “missed several entire days of production, ballooning costs by at least $50 million according to three insiders who insisted on anonymity for fear of being fired,” per the Wrap.

“It was a f–king disaster,” a source told the outlet, adding that production crews were allegedly forced to film around the actor on days when he was a no-show. 

However, a spokesperson for Amazon MGM Studios denied the allegations of chronic tardiness.

“Dwayne Johnson and Seven Bucks have been incredible partners on ‘Red One’—a film that audiences of all ages are going to love this holiday season,” a spokesperson said in a statement.

“Our testing has been very strong — the reaction from CinemaCon speaks for itself — and we couldn’t have made it without Dwayne’s constant work and support. Any reporting that implies that we got to this point with him showing up seven-eight hours late to set is both ridiculous and false.”

The Wrap sources also accused Johnson of urinating in water bottles while on set to save time — and then making his assistants throw out the pee-filled containers.

Despite the source’s claims, two people close to production on “Red One” denied that the “Jumanji” star would have staffers do such a task.

“He would never ask another person to dispose of something like that,” one of the individuals told the outlet.

Johnson has previously admitted to urinating in water bottles .

“I usually stay pretty hydrated. I need to go to the bathroom a lot. Not a lot, but probably a couple of times during every workout I have to go to the bathroom,” he told Esquire in 2021. “So I break out the bottle.”

Page Six did not immediately hear back from Johnson’s rep.
