“[Simonetti’s] electronic score proved to be the perfect counterpoint to the rock songs, often oozing with menace and certainly adding to the fear factor… And, as usual with Simonetti, it makes for a great listen outside the film.” – Horror Cult Films
“Simonetti acting as a solo composer here rather than as part of Goblin replicates this in his pulsating electronic score… It’s got a sense of stalking malevolence about it right up there with the film itself and is horror music personified.” – Ave Noctum
…a fascinating snapshot of a composer in transition, moving from a band setting to a solo career , expanding his range and creating some of the most stirring music of his career. We treasure Demons for withstanding the test of time, but the real gem here is Simonetti.” – Popshifter
“Argento’s eye for filmmaking was still razor-sharp in those days; combined with the like-father-like-son style of Bava and a nightmarish synth score from Goblin’s Claudio Simonetti the film had all the necessary elements to satisfy horror fans. And truly, it’s a blast from start to finish with little time wasted.” – Dread Central
This soundtrack perfectly captures the growing tension created by the film as the main characters are transformed into demons, leading the way with the electro-metal of Killing, the percussively cruel Demon, and the now classic cult hit Demon. 30 years later, the music still shines with timeless quality thanks to the eclectic talent of composer Claudio Simonetti.” – Rustblade

Orange Goblin are a heavy metal band hailing from London, England who formed in 1995. They are hailed as one of the most critically acclaimed and respected stoner rock bands in the world, who have released eight albums since their debut in 1997.
The band came together in 1995 under the name Our Haunted Kingdom, and unlike many other bands who formed under a different name to the one they got famous with, Our Haunted Kingdom actually saw some serious success. By the year after they formed they had been noticed by Rise Above Records, who released their track “The Aquatic Fanatic” as a split single with Doom Metal legends Electric Wizard. The band decided to change their name to Orange Goblin when the label became interested in signing them properly, and soon afterwards they had their song “Saruman’s Wish” added to the second volume of Rise Above’s series of compilation albums “Dark Passages”.
After the release of “Saruman’s Wish”, the band were formally signed to Rise Above and were almost immediately sent out on their first proper tours of Europe, playing as many clubs and festivals as would have them. By 1997 they were a well-oiled rocking machine and the time was right to record their debut album, “Frequencies From Planet Ten” was released in October, and the record immediately marked them out as home-grown heroes with masses of potential. It also marked them out as growing out of their stoner rock pigeonhole surprisingly quickly, something that was made all the more apparent by 1999’s follow up “Time Travelling Blues.
Their first two records had seen them combining their stoner rock sound with influences ranging from psychedelia, space-rock, jazz, doom metal and hard rock, and “Time Travelling Blues” seemed to suffer from a lack of focus as a result. By 2002, they had bid their stoner days farewell with the blistering hard rock of their fourth album “Coup De Grace” and settled into their place as one of the elder statesmen of British Rock. Ever since then, they have been one of the most consistently excellent live acts in British metal, and have released a steady stream of ace records alongside them, they stand alone as a thrillingly unique and challenging band in a sea of bland, manufactured metal, and they come highly recommended.
Live reviews
Previously under the name Our Haunted Kingdom, and now under Orange Goblin, the London based heavy metal band has been performing and touring for quite some time now. There have been a few member changes, but the current band consists of Ben Ward on vocals, Joe Hoare on guitar, Martyn Millard on bass and Chris Turner on drums.
Watching their live set, you get an inexplicable energy from the moment the show starts. The band takes to the stage, and immediately starts to play their first song, which is met with a raucous cheer from the audience. With the first strum of the guitar the lights behind them flash, and you can see smoke rising from behind them. Before Ben starts any vocals, he yells to the audience to get crazy, raises his arms up, grabs his mike, stands on the speakers and starts belting out the first song. The whole rest of the show, they maintain the same amount of energy, and if anything, the energy only increases as the crowd gets more and more pumped up from the intensity of the face-melting sounds of the guitar. You leave slightly deaf, but with the satisfaction that you rocked out as hard as you possibly could.

This was my first time to see Orange Goblin live and I was not disappointed. The lead singer, Ben Ward, is a monster of a man with a voice and presence to match. My personal favourites 'Stand For Something' and 'The Fog' were mixed with other great songs that I will certainly check out (I'm afraid I don't know the names of them yet). Closed with 'Red Tide Rising', a fan favourite, we were left wanting more and hopefully won't have to wait another 18 years before they visit Reading again.
A really enjoyable gig at a venue that reminded me of the old 'JB's @ Junction 10' in Walsall.
We were Goblin Virgins before last night!! They certainly didn't disappoint.
Those Goblins ROCK HARD.
A fantastic gig with great energy throughout.
We'll certainly go to see them again.
Cheers Guys.
First time seeing them and it was absolutely amazing, just awesome I can't recommend them enough. Just a quality band that you should check out if you get a chance.

Life Of Pi sails on 2023/2024 UK Tour!
By Yasmin Elkilany First Published 18 January 2023, Last Updated 21 April 2023
Lolita Chakrabarti’s dazzling Olivier Award-winning stage adaption of Yann Martel’s best-selling novel Life of Pi , which finished its run in the West End on 15 January and stars an extraordinary life-size puppeteered Bengal tiger, begins its first ever tour of the UK at the Sheffield’s Lyceum theatre in August 2023, where it will run from 29 August to 16 September 2023.
Lolita Chakrabarti said : ‘It is incredible to begin this tour at Sheffield Theatres, where Life of Pi began its journey, and to start the tour across the country from this great city. It has been an extraordinary year in the West End and the success of the play has been both a privilege and a delight – from all the amazing awards to the standing ovations we get every night. It is testament to Yann Martel’s beautiful and moving story. I am so grateful for his trust and generosity in sharing it with me and allowing our amazing creative team to tell his story our way.’

Life of Pi first opened to critical acclaim at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield in 2019. The show won five Olivier Awards in April 2022; as well as Best New Play, and Best Actor for Hiran Abeysekera (the original Pi); in an historic first for the Olivier Awards – the seven performers who puppeteer the Tiger ‘Richard Parker’ were collectively awarded Best Actor in a Supporting Role. The production also picked up awards for set ( Tim Hatley, Nick Barnes and Finn Caldwell ), and lighting design ( Tim Lutkin and Andrzej Goulding ).
Based on one of the best-loved works of fiction – winner of the Man Booker Prize, selling over fifteen million copies worldwide – Life of Pi is a breath-taking theatrical adaptation of an epic journey of endurance and hope. After a cargo ship sinks in the middle of the vast Pacific Ocean, there are five survivors stranded on a single lifeboat – a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan, a sixteen year-old boy and a 450-pound Royal Bengal tiger. Time is against them, nature is harsh, who will survive?
