IRCTC Varanasi Tour Itinerary Package

Day 1 : Delhi – Varanasi

Upon arriving in Delhi, our tour representative will guide you to board a train heading towards the holy city of Varanasi. This will be a trip of almost 12 hours which will be an overnight journey.

Day 2 : Varanasi

Once you arrive in Varanasi our tour representative will guide you towards your allotted hotel. After completing your check-in procedure you will have some free time to relax and spend some leisurely time. In the evening you will be made to attend the world famous and extremely pious Ganga Aarti on Ganga ghat followed by a pooja ritual. Later on after the completion of your puja rituals, you will be made to head back to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3 : Varanasi Sightseeing

Your morning will commence at an early hour when you will be taken for a Ganga snan accompanied with a Pind Daan puja ritual. Post breakfast you will be taken on a mesmerizing temple tour of the city which will include: Kashi Vishwanath Mandir – one of the prime jyotirlinga and a holy pilgrimage site for Shaivites from across the globe; Vishalakshi Temple – dedicated to an aspect of Goddess Parvati, this is also regarded one of the most important shakti peeth in India; Annapurna Devi Mandir – one of the most sacred temple in Varanasi, which is dedicated to the goddess of nourishment; Birla mandir; Sankat Mochan Mandir; Tulsi Manas Mandir – the place where Goswami Tulsidas had the idea for ram Charitra Manas and Durga Mandir. Post darshan you will be made to head back to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 4 : Varanasi – Ayodhya

You will be checked out early in the morning from your hotel in Varanasi and will be transferred to Ayodhya. After covering a road journey of 6 hours you will be checked in to your hotel in Ayodhya where you will be spending the night. After relaxing for a while you will be taken on a half day sightseeing tour of this city. You will be taken to the following places: Ram Janmabhoomi; Dashrath mahal; Kanak mahal; Hanuman Garhi Temple; Karsevapur and Rama Pattabhishekam. The entire landscape of Ayodhya is dotted with places of importance to Lord Ram.

Day 5 : Ayodhya – Allahabad – Delhi

Early in the morning, you will be made to head onwards towards Allahabad which is a 5 hours of road journey. Once you arrive in Allahabad you will be made to immediately check in to your allotted hotel here and head on out for a city sightseeing tour. You will be taken to the following tourist attractions: Triveni sangam snan – the convergence point of rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati; Hanuman Garhi and Patalpuri mandir. By the afternoon you will be taken to: Anand Bhawan, Swaraj Bhawan and Khusro Bagh. Later in the evening, you will be taken to civil lines and cathedral church. Finally, you will be made to head on back to your hotel where you will gather your luggage and head on for the railway station, where you will be made to board the train heading towards Delhi. This journey of 12 hours will be an overnight journey.

Day 6 : Delhi Departure

Your journey will come to an end upon your arrival in Delhi from where you will be made to board the train or flight heading on towards your desired destination.

If you've read ancient Indian history, you will be aware of these places due to their significance and magnificence. Finally, we return to Allahabad and go straight to bed!

From Chitrakut, we begin our journey back to Varanasi post a delicious breakfast. We check-in at the hotel and leave for an adventurous Ganga boat ride. We allow you to take a little detour and explore the city on your own before escorting you to the religious temples. Some of them being Durga Temple, Tulsi Manas Temple, Sankat Mochan Temple, Bharat Mata temple and Sarnath (a village were Gautama Buddha first taught the Dharma). We end the day at the hotel with a lip-smacking dinner.

IRCTC launches tour package to holy cities of Varanasi, Ayodhya and Prayag

Indian Railways is planning an air tour from Kochi to Varanasi. The tour package includes Varanasi, Ayodhya and Prayag. The domestic air package with Ayodhya Darshan has been announced for four nights / five days. The tour package, which starts on December 2, costs Rs 28,755.

Kochi-Varanasi The first day's journey starts from Kochi to Varanasi. Check into the hotel in the afternoon. In the evening, you can spend the night in Varanasi by participating in the Ganga Aarti. Day 2: Varanasi City Tour After breakfast, go to Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Annapurna Temple. After lunch you can visit Sarnath and spend another night in Varanasi. The very next day, you can leave for Allahabad. Travelers arriving at the hotel in the morning can be a part of the Allahabad Tour which includes exploring the Allahabad Fort and the Patalpuri Temple. That day you will be put up at Allahabad.

Day 4: Allahabad-Ayodhya-Varanasi The next morning, head out to Ayodhya to visit the major attractions of Ayodhya, including Ram Janmabhoomi, Laxman Ghat, Kala Ram Temple and Kanak Bhavan Temple. The journey ends on the fourth day at Varanasi only. On the fifth day, after breakfast, check out of your hotel in Varanasi and return to Kochi.

The spectacular event must be viewed from the Dasawamedh Ghat, where beautiful rituals unfold themselves in front of your eyes. Tour of the oldest temple : Kashi Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Siva, is one of the most popular and sacred Hindu Temples in the city. It stands on the western bank of the river Ganges. There are altogether 12 Jyotirlingas (Holiest Shiva Temples) in the globe and the sacred Kashi Vishwanath Temple is one of them. Varanasi was once known as Kashi hence the name of the temple itself was inherited from there. Several visitors pay their tribute to Lord Shiva throughout the year and the place is often known to be extremely crowded. Go to a Bhang Shop: Bhang is a legal preparation of edible cannabis which is available in government shops in several legalized areas, such as Varanasi. While technically illegal on a state level, the government realised the religious importance and significance of this ancient preparation, and as such made it available so no one may be persecuted for their religious beliefs. Be careful though, bhang is not to be taken lightly and will floor you if you’ve never partaken before. In fact, the religious texts of Hinduism widely suggest that one should get salvation by bathing in River Ganges to purify all sins accumulated in current or previous births. Taking a dip or bathing in the holy waters of the Ganges is one of the major things to do in Varanasi. The river’s personification is Ganga, the elder sister of Goddess Parvati, wife of Lord Shiva. It is said that Ganga came to earth for giving salvation to 60000 ancestors. She came to earth as a human, but her falling force is said to be so enormous that Lord Shiva had to hold her in his matted hair, and he was the one who ultimately released her in the form of a river. The river, associated with Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh is therefore revered by Hindus. Varanasi has 84 Ghats, and their steps lead to the River Ganges. The Ghats can be accessed easily and used for dipping or taking bath in Ganga. To complement this, travellers are recommended to opt for boat rides, which will help you gain insight into the culture and historical significance of the mystical river.
