Dodge TRX LTR Long Travel Kit

When RAM Trucks reached out to us to build them a TRX for the SEMA show in 2021, they had one requirement: build the most badass, race-inspired TRX in the world. One of the biggest advantages RW had was that RAM Trucks provided all of the CAD data for the TRX platform. These trucks are very advanced vehicles, and it's nearly impossible to build a product as good as ours without CAD data for the truck. Not scans, not parts of it—the entire truck, the same files RAM uses to produce the truck.

We started with the front suspension. Our "LTR'' line of components (long-travel race) are the premier components in our lineup. Every detail that you'd see in our trophy truck, you'll find crammed into the wheel wells of your TRX. 4130 TIG-welded, high-clearance lower control arms, billet/sheet metal uniball uprights, 4130 plate or billet race-grade upper control arms, a weld-on shock tower, and huge King shocks with every option. You'll also come to notice a few features you don't see everywhere else. A fully adjustable, splined 300M front sway bar, from-scratch improved geometry, and proper suspension proportions designed around the 40-inch tire.

While most companies are providing longer arms and fabricated components, very few of them are designed from scratch with all of the vehicle dynamics in mind. While almost anyone can make these trucks go through the bumps smoothly off-road, a very small number of them have good street manners. With our vast understanding of vehicle dynamics, like roll center, kingpin inclination, scrub radius, anti-dive, springs rates, wheel rate, and shock tuning, our trucks handle like sports cars on the road, period. Tight, nimble, agile, and reliable, while these trucks are monsters in the desert. You will not find a truck that drives better on the roads at any speed than an RW-equipped truck.

FACTORY-INSTALLED BILSTEIN ® SHOCKS

The Bilstein® Black Hawk® e2 Shock System is designed to evenly distribute all 702 horses to the ground and equally suppress opposing forces from uneven terrain.

BILSTEIN® ALGORITHM

A proprietary control algorithm is designed around the extreme performance needs of an off-road truck. It monitors vehicle sensors and continuously adapts to speed, throttle position, braking, torque, steering angle and more. This provides optimal body control on road and off.

DUAL-VALVE TECHNOLOGY

Dual-valve technology allows the shock system to infinitely adjust both compression and rebound forces at each shock absorber. Depending on terrain and driver input, the system will tailor the signal being sent to each of the eight valves on the 2024 Ram 1500 TRX with extraordinary precision.

HIGH-PRESSURE STAINLESS STEEL BRAIDED HOSES

Each hose is shielded by a braided stainless steel outer layer and sealed using a metal-to-metal process. This allows them to withstand temperatures up to 275°F, accommodate pressures over 5,800 psi and helps protect against abrasion and corrosion.

REMOTE RESERVOIRS

Each shock is fueled by a pressurized nitrogen gas charge in an independent remote reservoir. This frees up room in the shock absorber for piston rod travel, allowing for extreme suspension articulation.

ZONECONTROL® JOUNCE CUTOFF

As the shock absorbers approach full compression, a secondary piston engages to prevent bottoming out. This hydraulic cushion technology is tuned specifically for the 2024 Ram 1500 TRX.

4WD Long Travel 2017 Ram Rebel

This Ram Rebel is a unique build that has the DNA of the original prototype Ram Rebel TRX. It all started when Ram trucks approached us to build the suspension for the TRX prototype truck. Shortly after one of our customers came to us with a 4WD 2017 Ram Rebel wanting a similar build. We started by installing the same front suspension as the TRX prototype and an upgraded version of the rear suspension. Advanced Fiberglass took on the body work. They developed replica TRX fiberglass bedsides, hood, and fenders allowing for proper tire clearance throughout the suspension cycle. The last detail was engine performance. The Ram received a whipple supercharger to complete the entire Ram Rebel TRX prototype replica package!

The Dirt King Ram 1500   Front Long Travel Kit   allows for 13.5” of travel and accommodates for 37” tires. The axles, steering, upper arms, and lower control arms are 3” wider per side. This increases the overall track width and stability of the vehicle. The kit also retains the factory sway bar to reduce body roll without compromising its off-road handling.

The Dirt King   Rear Long Travel   is a beefed-up version of the factory suspension to withstand the abuse seen off-roading. The links feature free spinning bushings to allow for more articulation compared to the factory links. The kit consists of fabricated upper links, fabricated lower links, fabricated track bar, extended sway bar end links, limit straps, and all necessary mounting hardware.

View interior and exterior images of the new Ram 1500 RHO, which is a successor of sorts to the outgoing V-8-powered TRX.

The Ram RHO essentially replaces the 702-hp V-8-powered TRX , as the new truck mainly just has a new engine as well as bits from the refreshed Ram 1500 lineup .

Every RHO has a Hurricane twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six that makes 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque.

Ram claims the RHO will hit 60 mph in 4.6 seconds, complete the quarter-mile in 13.1 ticks at 105 mph, and reach a top speed of 118 mph.

Along with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic, the RHO's Hurricane engine breathes through an exclusive dual-exhaust system with huge five-inch tips.

The RHO's long-travel suspension helps provide up to 11.8 inches of ground clearance and meets the road through a set of 35-inch off-road tires.

The RHO adopts the Ram 1500's restyled front-end design, with its flow-through RAM logo now sitting higher on the grille.

Inside, the RHO has a digital gauge cluster and a 12.0- or 14.5-inch Uconnect5 touchscreen; a 10.3-inch touchscreen for the front passenger is also available.

The fanciest interior can be had with the RHO Equipment package that adds massaging front seats, heated and ventilated rear seats, and a head-up display.

Among the RHO's new tech features are a hands-free highway drive mode, dual wireless phone charging, and a system to help with backing up to hitch a trailer.

The 2025 Ram 1500 RHO is now available to order, with a $71,990 starting price and an on-sale date sometime in the third quarter of this year.

2025 Ram 1500 RHO coming with TRX suspension, turbo-6 power

Ram is making headlines with new electric and plug-in hybrid pickups , but the brand hasn't forgotten its sport trucks. On Thursday, Ram provided more details on its forthcoming 2025 Ram 1500 RHO pickup , the in-market successor to the Ram TRX if not quite the spiritual successor. It joins the brand's other sport trucks, the Ram 1500 Warlock and Rebel, and the Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel and Power Wagon.

All Ram 1500 variants benefit from a mid-cycle update for the current-generation model, and that includes the switch from available V-8 power to the newer Hurricane twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-6. The RHO model gets the HO (high-output) version of the turbo-6 making 540 hp and 521 lb-ft of torque. The four-wheel-drive system works full time and includes a 2-speed transfer case that enables a crawl ratio of 2.64:1. Ram quotes a 0-60 mph time of 4.6 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 13.1 seconds, and a top speed of 118 mph, the last likely limited by the speed rating of the 325/65R18 Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT off-road tires. Those numbers are a far cry from the 702 hp of the Ram 1500 TRX from its supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, but the RHO carries over the TRX's other capabilities.

That includes the TRX's suspension with its rear coil springs, five-link rear suspension, Bilstein Blackhawk E-squared remote-reservoir adaptive shocks, and long-travel forged aluminum control arms. It also has the same 13 inches of front- and 14 inches of rear-wheel travel. However, Ram notes that the RHO weighs 150 pounds less than the TRX and 180 pounds less up front, so company engineers retuned the dampers and suspension for the difference in weight and better overall weight balance.

At the rear, the RHO uses a Dana 60 solid axle and an electronic rear locker. The RHO's Goodyears are 35-inch tires, and beadlock-capable wheels are available as an option. The tires contribute to 11.8 inches of ground clearance, 2.0 inches more than other Ram 1500s. Ram says the RHO won't fit 37-inch tires with full steering angle, but it has 32 inches of water fording capability. It can also tow up to 8,380 pounds and carry a maximum payload of 1,520 pounds.

The RHO also features the wider body from the TRX. It's about eight inches wider than other Ram 1500s, at 88 inches wide, to accommodate a 6.0-inch wider track and the wider tires.

Still, Ram insists that the RHO doesn't take the place of the TRX. A company spokesman said if and when a TRX ever returns it will have an appropriate engine. In other words, a new TRX would have crazy power like the last one.

The RHO comes only with the crew cab and 5-foot-7 bed. The truck's design includes LED headlights topped by a dark brow that extends the width of the vehicle, a unique grille texture, a flow-through grille-mounted RAM logo, tow hooks front and rear, and a new front bumper that's common with the Ram Rebel but has unique end caps due to the RHO's extra width. The RamBox storage system is not available with the wider body. Two-tone paint is standard, and the hood has a functional scoop that filters out water and debris from reaching the engine. RHO customers have the choice of full-length rock rails or powder-coated aluminum running boards.

Ram provides nine drive modes for the RHO. Chosen via buttons on the dashboard, they consist of Sport, Baja, Tow, Snow, Auto, Custom, Mud/Sand, Rock, and Valet modes. A Launch Control button is located in the same area.

2025 Ram 1500 RHO

Inside, the RHO comes standard with leather- and suede-upholstered 12-way power-adjustable front seats with memory, heating and cooling, a massage function, and gray or red accents. Three screens are available, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.0- or 14.5-inch center touchscreens in a portrait format, and a 10.3-inch passenger screen. The IP and center screen show performance and off-road information. The RHO also offers an optional 10.0-inch head-up display. A multi-function switch bank is found on the dash, and the center console has dual wireless charging pads and an RHO badge with a rhinoceros graphic and the truck's VIN.

Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, active lane control, adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alerts. Ram also offers a driver-attention monitor, a surround-view camera system, traffic sign recognition, and intersection collision warnings.

The Ram 1500 RHO is priced from $71,990, including a $1,995 destination fee, and buyers can place their orders starting today. Deliveries will begin in the third quarter of this year.

Long Travel Kit

 Description

The Dirt King long travel kit was developed to drastically improve the vehicles off-road handling without compromising its day to day driving characteristics. This suspension system allows for 13.5” of travel and accepts up to a 37” tire. The kit is compatible with 2WD models and 4WD models along with the purchase of extended axle shafts. Our upper and lower arms are designed with 1” stainless steel uniballs for the outer pivots instead of ball joints for strength and increased articulation. This kit is the first of its kind, it’s a complete bolt on application with no cutting or welding to the frame on 4WD models. The suspension system was originally developed for Ram Trucks new concept vehicle, the Ram Rebel TRX which was released in mid-2016. After its amazing performance we decided to put the kit in production and make it available to the public!

4WD Models To achieve the full amount of travel on 4WD models the inner CV’s must be machined for more articulation. We offer several services for machining CV’s and complete axle assembly.  Click here   to view the services we offer and additional information on CV machining.

2WD Models The 2WD frames are identical to the 4WD frames with the exception of the coil bucket location. On the 2WD models the coil buckets must be replaced with our shock towers (DK-541908-ST) in order to fit the proper size shocks. Our shock towers come preassembled with instructions making the installation as easy as possible.

Shocks This suspension system must be installed with shocks built to our specifications. Within the “specs” tab we provided the PDF showing how they need to be built. The shocks are also available for purchase through Dirt King Fabrication and include proprietary internal valving for optimal performance.

Wheel Travel When shopping long travel kits many consumers tend to focus just on travel numbers. This is the reason many companies claim inaccurate numbers or don’t disclose the amount of work involved to achieve these numbers. Our goal is to build a suspension system with the highest amount of wheel travel without requiring major modifications to the vehicle or compromising its overall drivability.

Tire Info When using 37” tires with this kit modifications to the wheel well will need to be made. For more information refer to our installation instructions.

Shipping & Delivery Dirt King ships their products within the United States and Internationally. Most products ship via UPS or USPS. Orders that exceed $500 require a signature confirmation. On bulk orders contact Dirt King for a freight quote. The customer is responsible for import taxes and fees on international shipments.

Damaged or Missing Parts In an instance where you receive a damaged package a claim must be made with Dirt King. The claim can be submitted by sending an email to [email protected] containing photos of the damaged packages and damaged products. The email must also include your order number as well. Do not discard any of the original packaging or try installing the products.

While every precaution is taken there could be a case where you are missing parts. If this happens please send an email to [email protected] with your order number, list of missing parts, photo of the package or packages, and a photo of the quality control tag located on the back of the box.

If the shipping carrier losses your package please contact Dirt King. A claim will be filled with the shipping carrier. Unfortunately, we do not have much control over this situation and must wait for the carrier to process the claim.

Freight Shipping The customer must contact Dirt King to arrange for freight shipping. Dirt King will palletize the order and the customer can deal directly with the freight carrier if preferred. The shipment can be delivered to a home or business. The customer must be present for the delivery to inspect and sign for the package. Before signing confirm that you received all items listed on the packing slip and nothing is damaged. If you receive damaged parts or are missing parts leave a note on the bill of landing and sign it. Make sure the driver is aware of the situation and signs your copy of the bill of landing with the noted damages or missing parts. Once you have taken possession of the package file a claim with Dirt King by sending an email to [email protected]. Please include your order number, copy of your bill of landing, and photos of the damaged items or list of missing parts. Do not discard any of the original packaging or try installing the products. Dirt King will do everything possible to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

• Returns are only accepted within 30 days.
• Product must have been purchased from us and not a dealer.
• A 3% processing fee is deducted from all refunds.
• On shipped orders   a 7% restocking fee and a  3% processing fee is deducted from all refunds.
• Products such as bumpers, hitches, and bed cages that have optional powder coat added are subject to a 7% restocking fee and a 3% processing fee. If the order is canceled before the product is powder coated then the 7% restocking fee can be waived.
• On shipped orders we are not responsible for return shipping or refunding the original shipping amount.
• Parts must be returned in the original package and condition as they were sent.
• No returns on items that have been damaged or installed.

Pre-runner inspired bed setup!

Post pictures of your TRX pre-runner inspired bed setup ! Please list details of what gear you went with. Also if you have ideas for me I would appreciate it... I would like to have a functional pre-runner bed set up where I can carry: - 2 spare tires (both in the bed) - Jack ( 3 ton Pro Eagle ) - Fuel ( 5 gallon VP Racing ) - 4 Recovery boards ( ARB tred pro ) - Shovel ( Krazy Beaver ) So far I put Line-X in the bed and installed Putco Molly Panels and... that's it (picture below). I can slap the shovel on the molly panels anywhere, not sure where best to try and fit the recovery boards after I install one of the tire carrier/rack options below, trying not to turn this into a full blown overlanding rig to keep the pre-runner look. Tire carrier/rack options: Option 1: SVC Offroad V1 Bypass Rack - I think this is the perfect solution, even has hardware to mount larger through the bed shocks for up to 17" of wheel travel, BUT it's made for the Gen 2 Ford Raptor, I wonder if it fits the TRX or if they will come out with a TRX version - Any thoughts? Update: I called SVC Offroad today and they told me it is not compatible with the TRX since it is made for the Gen 2 Raptor with leaf springs and our truck has better coil overs. Option 2: Raptor Magnum Chase Rack Option 3: ADD Universal Tire Carrier Option 4: 454 Motorsports removable bed cages - My personal front runner. Any options I'm missing? OR... maybe I'll just drive it to the mall and get a latte. Post pictures of your TRX pre-runner inspired bed setup !

Ok. Learned a little bit the other day. This TRX has a pretty craptastic weight ratio for a modern truck. For those who are looking to build or commission a “prerunner” bed storage system: HAVE THE TIRE RACKS BEWTEEN THE TAILGATE AND THE WHEEL HUMP. So get that 200# behind the rear axle as much as possible. It will leverage weight off the front… (hey every bit helps) and also will make the truck a little more stable when it gets light.

Yes, they are stupid expensive, each panel sold separately, the side panels are only held in place by a rubber piece on each of the four screws that is screwed into the side of the bed. The rubber piece is squeezed/expanded into the holes as you tighten in the screws, so I am not sure how much weight they are really gonna hold, I think they advertise 200 lbs per panel, I doubt that is @ full send though. I’m actually considering that option, but there is a problem. If I got that route I would have to linex my bed first. The built right design uses a rivet which fits into the existing rail mounts, but you have to drill out the holes wider. I’m fine with the drilling but I just wanna enjoy the blue bed a bit longer. I wouldn’t want to have the hassle of linex over the rivets. Also I’m a little bit weight conscious and while the rivet option is for sure very sturdy and robust the putco is 1/10 in aluminum instead of the 1/8 in steel. Both are powder coated. I like the full reach along the bed wall of the putco more than the sectionals of the built right.

It looks like there is an expansion plug design that is press fit in the existing small holes, but the large holes look like there is maybe a rubber boot that holds the panel in place with a squeeze bracket on the other side. Can you show a close up of what it looks like fully secured and explain what it is that you think might make it not hold up on full send? I plan to use these not just for mounting, but as securing points for loose gear in the back. Over engineering is always good with stuff like that. Click to expand...

2025 Ram 1500 RHO: Lighter in weight, price and power vs TRX

It's also less expensive and more powerful than a raptor.

As Stellantis phases out its line of Hemi V8s, both garden- and hellish-feline-variety, Ram is losing its completely outrageous TRX . But that doesn't mean it's done with intense off-road machines. While it lacks the outright power of the TRX, the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO delivers on virtually everything else. Plus, it gets a couple of big benefits over its big-bore forebear.

The biggest difference for the RHO is that it adopts the high-output version of the Hurricane twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six from the main Ram 1500 and Jeep Wagoneer lines. It's mostly unchanged, but it does breathe through a high-flow filter that pulls air from the functional hood scoop, and it has a valved exhaust to choose between quiet and loud options. It makes the same 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque as those other trucks , and that's obviously much less than the TRX's 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet. But you know what's less powerful than the Hurricane? The standard F-150 Raptor , which has 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. Not only that, but the RHO is still darn quick. It gets to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds, only 0.1 behind the TRX, and it finishes the quarter-mile in 13.1 seconds.

There's another benefit to switching to the Hurricane: weight. The RHO weighs 150 pounds less than the TRX, and all of that savings is over the front of the truck. There's a good chance that the RHO is going to feel more eager on turn-in than the old V8 brute. It also likely helped with improving towing and payload capacity. Towing increases from 8,100 pounds in the TRX to 8,380 in the RHO, and payload from 1,310 to 1,520. And those numbers again trump the standard Raptor.

The reduced weight does mean that Ram has had to do some retuning of the suspension, but beyond that, the hardware is the same as on the TRX. That includes the adaptive, remote-reservoir Bilstein shocks, forged front control arms, upgraded bumpstops, and loads of suspension travel. Specifically, it has 13 inches of travel up front, and 14 at the rear. It also sits on 35-inch tires. Ram engineers said that 37-inch tires will technically fit, but if you're looking to use all that suspension travel, you'll run into issues with rubbing without additional modification.

There are small changes inside and out as far as styling and features, too. The RHO gets updated LED lighting and a new grille and bumper, plus new badges and stickers denoting the RHO trim and the Hurricane engine. The interior gets similar updates to the regular Ram, with one of the most noteworthy additions being the option of a passenger-side infotainment screen as well as the new full-color HUD. Multifunction switches are included for adding auxiliary lights, and there are new RHO badges throughout. It also picks up the option of hands-free highway driving assist like the regular Rams. Customers have the choice of Nappa leather or suede upholstery and can add carbon fiber trim and red upholstery accents.

The real kicker to the RHO package, though, is the price. It starts at $71,990,  well below the TRX's six-figure price. But importantly, it's also significantly less than the F-150 Raptor , which starts at $80,325. The RHO might not have the engine of the TRX, but it has basically everything else, and all for a lot less. It seems like Ram has a real winner here.

2025 Ram 1500 RHO: Embracing Change With Power And Affordability

R am introduces the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO, a wide-body off-road truck that retains the TRX’s ruggedness but opts for a 540-hp twin-turbo straight-six engine, offering a more affordable starting price of $71,990. Despite the departure from its V-8 predecessor, the RHO inherits key components from the outgoing Ram TRX, including its robust features, long-travel suspension, and bold wide-body design.

Additionally, the RHO incorporates elements from the redesigned Ram 1500 lineup, featuring a revamped front end, upgraded interior, and various new features. The RHO’s engine, a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six dubbed the “Hurricane,” generates 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque.

While this marks a reduction from the TRX’s power output, the six-cylinder setup offers benefits such as a lighter weight, improved front axle balance, and enhanced fuel efficiency. Expected to achieve 15 mpg city and 21 highway, the RHO offers a more economical alternative to the TRX’s fuel consumption.

Despite the shift in powertrain, the RHO maintains impressive performance capabilities, boasting a 0-60 mph time of 4.6 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 13.1 seconds at 105 mph. Its off-road prowess is underscored by features such as a fortified frame, adaptive Bilstein dampers, and chunky 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires.

Inside, the RHO benefits from technological advancements seen across the 2025 Ram 1500 lineup, including a standard 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and an available 14.5-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5 software. Additional features such as a 360-degree camera system, a digital rearview mirror, and massaging front seats further enhance the driving experience.

While the acronym “RHO” remains ambiguous in its meaning, clues suggest it may stand for “rhino,” aligning with the project’s internal codename and the presence of a rhinoceros image on the center console badge.

Priced at $71,990, the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO offers a more accessible option compared to its predecessor, the TRX, making it an enticing choice for off-road enthusiasts. Available for order now, the RHO is expected to arrive at dealerships in the third quarter of the year, with pricing for optional packages yet to be released.
