The 27-year-old, who’s known for crossing the line with his edgy material and no-holds-barred crowd work, will bring his singular brand of line-crossing comedy to venues all over the globe as part of his recently-announced ‘ProbleMATTic World Tour.’
Along the way, the “Bring The Funny” alum will stop into Syracuse, NY’s Funny Bone from June 30 through July 2, Waterloo, NY’s The Vine at Del Lago Resort and Casino on Aug. 1-3, Atlantic City, NJ’s Ovation Hall at Ocean Resort and Casino from Aug. 18-20 and Albany, NY’s Funny Bone from Dec. 18-20.

Rife can’t wait to hit the road either.

Matt Rife upcoming projects
Rife, who counts Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis as fans — as evidenced by his goofy, 2.5-minute tour announcement video — has quite a few irons in the fire.
Here are all of Rife’s TV and movie roles on the horizon courtesy of IMDb .
“Don’t Suck” stars Rife as an up-and-coming young comic with an unexpected past who hits the road with a veteran comedian who’s using the tour as a last chance at stardom. Stand up veterans Jamie Kennedy, Russell Peters, Carrot Top, Jimmy ‘JJ’ Walker and Jimmy Shubert round out the cast.
“The Private Eye” tells the story of Mort Madison (Rife), a private eye whose life is spiraling downward, when a beguiling, slightly familiar woman hires him for his most unusual case. Familiar faces in the cast include Eric Roberts and Erik Griffin.
“Trapped Inn” is a sci-fi thriller about an American cycling team trapped in a historic lodge during training camp high in remote European mountains. After team members mysteriously perish, two rival teammates clash as they fight for survival and try to find out what’s killing everyone on the team.
“Candy Flip” has no story to speak of at the moment; the film’s IMDb says the “plot (is being) kept under wrap.” Cole Carter, Danielle Loving and Jessica Belkin star.
“Karma’s a B—-“ follows Charley Stevens (Isabella Blake-Thomas) as she moves to her her recently deceased mother’s hometown. Upon arrival, she is plagued with strange nightmares that tease a horrific event, hinting at why her mother left town. Rife and Blake-Thomas are joined by Tony Todd in the ensemble.

Rising comedian Matt Rife has slated an ambitious 115-date world tour encompassing two years and three continents, it was announced on Monday (June 5).

Trending on billboard.
“We haven’t seen anything like this in 20 to 30 years,” says Levin, who was introduced to Rife by his manager, Christina Shams with Avesta Entertainment before signing with CAA in December.
“Every show that we’ve put up so far, we’ve sold out in presale in under 15 minutes,” Levin adds, noting that Rife’s videos on TikTok have more than 1 billion views combined. “It’s been a crazy ride and it couldn’t have happened to a better person.”
While the ProbleMATTic World Tour is spread out over a two-year period, the first 101 shows are packed into an 11-month run, starting with a July 20 date in Bend, Ore. and ending June 6, 2024, at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville — a North American sprint that also encompasses four Australia dates in January. That comes out to an average of a Rife comedy show every three days for nearly a year.
Following a three-month break, Rife will embark on the European leg of the tour starting with a Sept. 3 show at SEC Armadillo in Glasgow, U.K. followed by shows in Amsterdam, London, Paris and more before concluding the tour on Friday, Oct. 20 at Santeria Toscana 31 in Milan, Italy.

Rife as Onion Domes, Moscow’s Casinos Face Closing
By Steven Lee Myers
- Nov. 2, 2006
MOSCOW, Nov. 1 - Could there be a better symbol for the new Moscow -- seductive, indulgent, awash in got-quick riches -- than the casino?
There are more than 60 of them in the city now, neon palaces of capitalist glitter and risk that have become as ubiquitous as the onion domes of Russian Orthodoxy. One major street, Novy Arbat, has more than a passing resemblance to the Las Vegas Strip, and even a casino called the Mirage.
There is just one cloud on this rosy horizon: they are all to be closed, though perhaps not for a while.
Pressed by President Vladimir V. Putin, the only political authority that matters anymore, lawmakers are drafting a law that would banish casinos, slot-machine parlors and other gambling halls from Moscow, though they could be allowed to operate in a few other places.
Unless lawmakers buck Mr. Putin, which has yet to happen, the new law would do more to alter the cityscape of Moscow than any other since the collapse of the Soviet Union. The Soviet government banned gambling -- even playing cards in public -- until the end of the 1980s and, perhaps not coincidentally, the end of its history.
The first big casinos followed hard on the Soviet collapse, but they have proliferated since 2001, when an easing of licensing rules coincided with Russia's growing economic boom, creating a frenzy of easily disposed income. Industry officials here estimate that nearly $6 billion is spent on gambling each year in Russia.
Moscow now has more casinos than any other city except Las Vegas and Miami, according to the World Casino Directory, an online industry association. (St. Petersburg is sixth.) That does not include hundreds of small shops with slot machines.
"The new Russians -- I would say 80 percent are gamblers," a gambler who declined to give more than his first name and patronymic, Vadim Pavlovich, said as he moved from the poker table to the roulette wheel at a casino here called Jazz Town. He estimates casually that he had lost a million dollars over time, money earned, he said vaguely, from wholesale trading. "I have made enough to lose a million dollars," he said, fingering the chips in his hand.
The gambling boom, perhaps inevitably, has generated a populist backlash that seems to have spurred Mr. Putin to act. While Russia hardly has a prudish society -- with its abundance of strip clubs, semilegal prostitution and a robust pornography industry -- opposition to gambling has become increasingly vocal.
"The gambling industry is highly unethical," said Aleksandr Y. Lebedev, a billionaire businessman and Parliament member who has long advocated a crackdown. "It is legalized robbery."
Religious organizations, as well as the Public Chamber, a Kremlin-appointed advocacy council, publicly appealed this year for greater control, especially on slot machines. Two predominantly Muslim regions -- Chechnya and Dagestan -- have shut gambling parlors, while Tatarstan moved last month to restrict them to two special zones.
On the national level, the lower house of Parliament has dickered for years over less sweeping changes to laws regulating gambling, voting already this year on a bill that would have distanced casinos and gambling halls from places like schools.
Parliamentary leaders dropped that bill and put Mr. Putin's far stricter version on a fast track after he denounced gambling as a scourge in a public meeting with party leaders last month. A first vote on the legislation is scheduled for Nov. 17.
"Unfortunately, this concerns not just young people," Mr. Putin said last week about the effects of gambling on young people during a choreographed question-and-answer session with the public. "Unfortunately, pensioners also leave their last kopecks and pensions there. Specialists say that this gambling addiction is even stronger than addiction to alcohol. This is a serious problem, and it has to be dealt with like the spread of alcohol in the country."
Mr. Putin's proposal appears to have popular support. In a recent poll of Russians by the independent polling agency Vtsiom, 65 percent of respondents favored restricting all gambling to special zones, while only 18 percent were opposed.
The details of the law must still be put to paper, but Mr. Putin has said it would restrict all gambling to four specially designated zones -- evidently to be decided upon by his government later. The parliamentary speaker, Boris V. Gryzlov, emerged from the meeting with Mr. Putin last month vowing to allow casinos only in unpopulated areas. Vladimir V. Zhirinovsky, the nationalist party leader who was beside him, interjected, "Virgin forests!"
By all accounts, the legislation would banish gambling from Moscow and other major cities, though according to Itar-Tass, one version could create an exception for places more populated than the unspoiled forests mentioned by Mr. Zhirinovsky. Mr. Gryzlov said only that the zones would be spread across the country: one in the Far East, one in Siberia and two in European Russia.
In a concession to existing casinos, the law would not take effect immediately but be phased in by 2009 -- time enough, supporters like Mr. Lebedev said, for owners to recoup their investments and close or relocate to the new zones.
Already some cities or regions have lobbied for the designation and the tourism and tax revenue it could bring. They include Kaliningrad, the enclave between Poland and Lithuania, and Kalmykia, a Buddhist region on the northeast coast of the Caspian Sea governed by President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, who has already built a Chess City that recently was host to the world championship.
A small city on Moscow's southeastern outskirts, Ramenskoye, has also been cited as a potential location. A South African casino company, Sun International, has announced plans to build a large gambling and entertainment center there but said a final decision would depend on the legislation now being drafted.
Michael Boettcher, a Briton who arrived in 1992, has built a chain of seven casinos, including some of Moscow's most prominent, including Jazz Town and another called Shangri La. He said that he welcomed restrictions because of the proliferation of casinos that did not follow industry standards, but that Mr. Putin's proposal went too far. "Now, instead of coming with a reasonable approach," Mr. Boettcher said, "they came with a club."
He, like others, said that gambling was too deeply rooted in Russian culture to be banished again, as it was during Soviet rule. In "The Gambler," written to pay off gambling debt, Dostoyevsky suggested gambling was a compulsion somehow suited to the Russian soul. "In my view all Russians are like that, or inclined to be," one character says, scolding the protagonist. "If it's not roulette, it's something else like it."
Mikhail Chilkhodyants, who works in pharmaceuticals, prefers the slot machines. He meets friends at Jazz Town on occasion for an evening of entertainment. "It's already become part of our lives," he said. "Moscow without gambling will lose something."

Tour Itinerary
With the 1000-year history, Russia has had a rich portfolio of conflicts, battles, wars. On this Soviet tour, we'll talk about various wars that happened in Russia, focusing on WWII.
Mother Russia has undergone a lot in its long life. Since ancient times, Russian rulers have taken nearly all political power into their own hands. By the beginning of the 20th century, the Russian oppositional movement was deadly set for the total destruction of the ever-lasting tsarist regime. All of Russia got involved in the bloody revolution of 1917 in an effort to abolish the current state of the government and gain freedom for the ordinary people.
You will learn about the every-day life of the Soviet people during the bloody Second World War with the Nazis, including the legendary Battle for Moscow, the 900-day siege of Leningrad, the hardships that local citizens went through, the consequences of the war and the scars it left on the Soviet people, as well as why the Cold War happened and what was the fundamental reason.
Our mission on the Soviet Russia tour is to find out
- - How much this 1917 revolution cost the people;
- - Whether they actually got the freedom they wanted and was it worth it;
- - What happened over the next 74 years;
- - Who were the main political communist leaders of the Soviet Union;
- - Were Russians happy and satisfied with the Soviet Union?
Our tour itinerary will lie in most Soviet areas of Moscow, which are quite spread throughout the city, as very few of them are left. You can choose how much you are ready to live this Soviet life on a 5, 7 or 10-hour tour. Depending on the duration of the tour, you will see part or all of the places below:
If you want to extend the tour, you are welcome to do so by paying $20/extra hour in cash on the tour.
Time stands still in Red Square. The Red Square is the heart of Moscow (and whole Russia). Saint Basil's Cathedral will make your mouth drop. If it is from May-October, have a cocktail on the outside terrace and simply people watch! The massive square offers so much to enjoy.
Lenin's Mausoleum
The burial place of one of the most influential communist leaders in the world.
Revolution Square Metro Station
Rub the Soviet dog's nose for good luck and admire the 76 bronze sculptures, devoted to the passionate, strong-willed and patriotic Soviet people.
Poklonnaya Hill
The highest point in Moscow, where Napoleon waited for keys of the city.
All-Russian Exhibition Center (VVC)
With its giant arch, amazing fountain, and huge pavilions of different Soviet Republics.
Victory Park Metro Station
The deepest undeground station in Moscow and one of the deepest in the world.
Victory Park
For an open-air museum as big as 135 ha (1 350 000 square meters), Victory park sure doens't lack diversity. The park is dedicated to the Russian victory in WWII, and was laid out in 1995 in commemoration of 50-year anniversary of victory.
Stalin had planned for its construction already in 1941, being sure of victory from the very start of the war.
Greeting Hill
The highest points in Moscow (172 meters), where Napoleon waited for keys of Moscow in vain.
Triumphal Arch
Stunning monument consisting of 12 cast-iron columns, each 12 meters high, and weighing 16 tons. Built to mark Russia's victory over Napoleon in 1812.
Museum of the Great Patriotic War
In the city that is as much about wars as it is about victories, there is one essential stopover - the Museum of the Great Patriotic War (that's what WWII is called in Russia). Must-do for those wishing to understand Russia's past and look at the whole war from the different perspective - Russian.
The museum is not for the faint-hearted. Here you can see films about the partisan experience, the scenes that will haunt you forever (no subtitles, but they are not necessary).
Museum of Contemporary History (from outside only)
We'll have a glance at Russian life of the XX century in the Museum of Contemporary History , which houses bits of everything from Russian history of XXth century: from English club to a storage of Stalin's presents.
Memorial to the Holocaust,
devastating and breath-taking!
Unleash your inner spy. Highly recommended Bunker-42 , Cold War Museum , explore the place where Khrushchev lived during the Cuban Crisis. Go down 18 floors to a gigantic bunker under Moscow that was designed to withstand a nuclear attack. Watch a short film about the severity of the Cold War. If you lived through the Cold War, you will hardly believe it is possible that you are in Bunker 42!
Wander through Sparrow Hills and climb up to the highest observation deck of Moscow with stunning views of all seven Stalin’s skyscrapers, including Moscow State University . After that, experience the excitement of taking a river cruise on the Moscow river and catch the views of the Kremlin and Soviet times.

Russia: Moscow, St Petersburg, ??
I'm starting to prepare for a solo trip to Russia for the fall this year or next spring. I will have to go back to Paris. If I build my air ticket right, I can open-jaw Moscow & St Petersburg, with Paris as a stop-over, for not much more $ than the return ticket to just Paris (AF). The order these two cities will be done will depend on the season (start with St P in the fall, Moscow in the spring). I can schedule in 7 nights at minimum (3 in Moscow, 4 in St P), but can consider as long as 3 weeks. There seems to be plenty of decent budget accommodations in both cities. If I spend the min. time, then I will likely take the new train service between the two cities. What if I wanted to spend more time: What extra things should I do or visit if I schedule more time in Moscow and/or St Petersburg? More importantly: what can I include between the two cities? All suggestions are welcome! Thanks! PS - I have the Thomas Cook Traveller Guide to Moscow & St Petersburg (4th ed) on order.
Diane, I haven't been back to Russia since the early 1990s, but on my two trips there back in the day, the common stop overs in the region were cities of the "Golden Ring" surrounding Moscow. As part of student tour groups, I've toured the cities of Vladimir, Suzdal and Novgorod en route from Moscow to St. Petersburg. (Novgorod, or Velikii "Great" Novgorod in particular can be reached between the two giant Russian cities. Search guidebooks or online to see if their sites interest you, but be sure to not confuse "Great" Novgorod with Nizhnii Novgorod, known during the communist era as "Gorky"). I have co-workers who have traveled to Yaroslavl and Rostov and they spoke highly of these cities, too.
I would recommend at least 4 nights in Moscow. I had a tip from another traveler who said "Moscow is a huge city not used to tourists. Plan on seeing one major sight a day, and anything else is gravy." At first I did not really believe this, but after visiting, it is true. The distances are massive and even if you make good use of the metro, there is still often a hike to wherever you are going. It is a fabulous city, however. PM me if you would like more information, we were there in 2008.
In St. Petersburg take a few walking tours from Peter's walking tours - got to places that we would never have found with out them.
Here is a tentative tour itinerary for a four days' stay in St. Petersburg and three days' stay in Moscow: St. Petersburg – Day 1 – a panoramic city tour with visits to Peter-and-Paul fortress, St. Isaac's cathedral and the Church-on-Spilt Blood (approx. 6 hrs.) Day 2 – a trip to Catherine's palace in Pushkin (Tsarskoye Selo) and the palace of Paul the First in Pavlovsk (approx. 6 hrs.) Day 3 – a day at the Hermitage – a tour of the museum and the two Gold Rooms (approx. 5 hrs.) Day 4 – a trip to Peterhof to visit the Grand Palace, the fountain park, upon return downtown – excursions at Usupov palace and/or the Russian museum (7-8 hrs.) Two more summer palaces of the Russian Tsars are located in the towns of Gatchina and Oranienbaum, about 1.5 hrs. drive from the center of St. Petersburg. Moscow – Day 1 – a panoramic city tour with a visit to Novodevichy convent (approx. 6 hrs.) Day 2 – a tour of the Kremlin with the Diamond Fund and the Armory, the Red Square and Kitai-gorod tour (approx. 6 hrs.) Day 3 – Pushkin Art Gallery and Tretiakov Art Gallery (approx. 5 hrs.) A few days can be spent visiting the ancient Russian towns of the Golden Ring. Novgorod can be visited either on the way from one city to the other, or on a day trip from St. Petersburg.
I was in Petersburg for 2 days (way too short). We found it pretty difficult because almost no one spoke English and we spoke no Russian. Many (if not most) taxi drivers neither speak English nor read the Latin alphabet. At the Hermitage, even some of the ticket sellers didn't speak English. Almost none of the exhibits were labeled in English. Unless you speak and read Russian, I would imagine it would be near impossible to visit anywhere outside of Moscow and Petersburg. Do spend the time to learn to read Cyrillic - at least you will be able to read the names.
Yes, I found having the hotel front desk write little notes for me in Cyrillic very helpful. They would write "Two Metro 10 Ticket booklets please" and other things down for me. It was invaluable.
Thank you so much everyone!! As I now have looked a bit more into this idea of combining Russia with Air France tickets to Paris, I am getting sold on it. I think that I have a handle on the visa situation and can deal directly with the office in Ottawa for it. I hadn't given any thought to learning the Cyrillic alphabet, so I appreciate the encouragement to do so, especially if the phonetic word can make a bit of sense. I have been in situations before of dealing with important language barriers, so every little bit helps! I spent 10 weeks traveling solo in Iran, but learning to read anything in Farsi beyond the numbers was not helpful in that case. It looks like I'll be able to add enough time to both cities and more, so 2-3 weeks will be likeliest. I will post again when more specific questions come up. I will probably not find out until June or July, as to when I will need to schedule the next trip to France (to include Russia).
