Welcome to EXO
EXO was born out of true passion for sharing the experience and thrill of off-roading. In 2011, we began our journey as just a group of friends who organized informal off-road runs and soon realized the demand for a more professional and organized experience.
After years of runs and trail experiences in the US, we held our first run in Baja Mexico in 2014. In addition to pre-running and planning, we invested time and resources building relationships with local Baja contacts, ensuring cooperation and assistance where needed. With over a decade of experience and well over half a million dirt-miles under our belts, you will not find a more experienced team than Expedition X Offroad.
We understand our adventures are bucket list experiences for our participants so we do not take this responsibility lightly. We focus on a true worry-free experience. All you need to do is show up and we handle the rest. Our goal is to provide a VIP experience to every participant, which we have become known for.
Our trail leaders excel at keeping the group moving, regardless of any mechanical issue you or any of the participants may experience. In the rare event our professional mechanics can’t address your issues on the trail, we have a chase truck and trailer (stocked with spare parts, a welder, and generator) shadowing the group to provide additional assistance if needed.
Finally, upon arrival to the hotel each day, our support crew ensures a swift check-in process by preparing all rooms in advance while providing a cold drink with a shot of tequila to celebrate our victories on the trail.
We’re confident EXO provides the best off road adventure experience in Baja, with unmatched Safety and Professionalism. Feel free to send us an email if you have any questions.

Adventure Mountain Off-Road Tours is NOW OPEN!
Located just 20 minutes north of Asheville at our NEW Adventure Mountain location in
Barnardsville, NC
- 369 Paint Fork Rd Barnardsville, NC 28709
Adventure Center of Asheville’s Adventure Mountain Off-Road Tours in Barnardsville, N.C ., is Asheville and Western North Carolina’s newest ultimate off-road driving experience. Drive or Ride our Guided Tours in 4-person Off-Road Vehicles (ORV) on 220 acres of scenic mountain trails climbing up 1,400 feet on Adventure Mountain. With an elevation of 4,200 feet at the peak, Adventure Mountain off-road trails travel through hardwood forests and extreme mountain terrain. Start with a training area to develop your off-road skills, then follow our guide on technical trails, rock and log obstacles, hill climbs, and spectacular views.
Our ORVs combine power and function to provide new or experienced drivers with a great adventure. Although they can go fast, our tours are not focused on speed but on learning and practicing the skills of managing challenges inherent in off-roading such as maneuvering around and over obstacles, climbing steep grades but also crawling down steep gradients, selecting the best course to traverse difficult spots successfully, and understanding capabilities of the ORV such as lateral stability, clearance, wheel locking and maneuvering capabilities.
Our training area will provide an opportunity to practice in an active, hands-on start. Once you’ve mastered your machine, it’s game on!! Our ORV course will include the best of our Adventure Mountain property: a 1,400-foot elevation change with the highest peak at 4,232 feet while enjoying panoramic views of the highest mountains in the Eastern United States (Blue Ridge Mountains, Balsam Mountains, Mount Mitchell, and the Great Smoky Mountains). Our 220 wooded acres have 7+ miles of ridgeline, lush valley, cliffside, creekside, and crossing trails.
Our experienced and knowledgeable guides will lead the way while communicating with our guests. Z1R Road Max Helmets are provided for each participant and are required for safety and comfort.
The 220 acre Adventure Mountain property has a vast history on this steep mountain of homesteading, farming, tree harvesting, and now protection and recovery. Although the off road tour is an adventure it is also an opportunity to see and learn the challenges and successes of farming and living off of the steep and rocky lands of the historic Appalachian Mountains of Western NC. You will visit the remains of the old homestead, learn how this farming community north of the “big city” of Asheville was settled and how the families struggled and survived in this steep and lush valley that is still home to generations of families and farmers. The most recent use of the mountain was timber harvesting. Our team of knowledgeable guides will share the importance of forest management and care following such stark impacts as clear cutting forests, invasive plant invasion and native plant elimination. They will share the efforts Adventure Mountain Resort is undertaking to not only protect and preserve this mountain but to remove invasive plants and weaker plant stands to replace with native and more vibrant and sustainable forest structures.
Adventure Center of Asheville’s Adventure Mountain Off-Road Tours is not at our in-town location!! It is a short scenic drive from downtown Asheville just outside of the small community of Barnardsville, NC, in the Paint Fork Road Valley. The drive is the perfect distance to be as close to Asheville as possible while allowing you to get out in the woods.

Every effort will be taken to minimize the cost of parts and services to return the ORV to its previous condition prior to the damage.

Frequently Asked Questions
Probably! Depending on the weather your clothes and shoes could get wet and muddy. The vehicles are open-air without heat or AC so be prepared for all elements.
You may also get into a muddy ORV that has just been on a tour.
Dress for the changing mountain weather and temperatures. We recommend you check the forecast for Barnardsville, N.C. for your tour day. It can be cool in the morning and late afternoon but warm mid-day. Layers are highly recommended unless it’s full summer or winter. The vehicles are open-air without heat or AC so be prepared for all elements.
Comfortable Closed Toe Shoes are Required. Shoes and Clothes may get dirty.
- We will provide snacks and water at certain breaks along the tour. You are welcome to bring your own water container but we ask that no “sticky” drinks be opened except when out of the vehicle as spills are likely and messy for you & the next Guests. Water with reusable water bottles is recommended.
- No single-use plastic is allowed on tours.
- Cell phones and/or cameras are welcome. There will be secure storage available but all items brought are “At Your Own Risk.” You will typically have opportunities to take pictures and videos inside and outside of your ORVs.
- Bring your own bandana or buff for your personal helmet liner.
- Bring a valid driver’s license for all drivers.
Hats- We will be wearing helmets so hats should be left in your vehicle.
Firearms/knives/sharp objects- No firearms, please. No knives unless secured where they will not puncture soft goods. Damage coverage does not cover damage from personal items (knives, pens, etc.) cutting/tearing seats. Please remove all those items from your pockets.
Valuables- Wallets, jewelry, and all valuables are best locked into your car, and keys are secured in our office. You can take them with you but if lost they are probably lost for good or our search will likely require a later time (based on our tour schedule) and a fee for the time vehicles and staff are occupied searching. Best to leave that all secure in your vehicle.
Trash/Food- No plastic & excessive trash/food. Please allow time to eat meals before arriving or prior to your trip. There are a few shared picnic tables if you would like to eat prior to or following your tour.
Single-use plastics
Our goal is to make it as fun, interesting, and exciting as possible while keeping safety as our top priority. Guests are allowed to drive. Training and practice areas are included at the start of the tour. The equipment we provide is top-of-the-line and exceeds any other tour we’ve experienced in the Southeast. This will improve your overall experience. Your guide is not just there to guide you but to teach and to help you make choices on the easiest and most challenging options when possible. Our tours are small and our property is pristine. You will experience obstacles, climbs, descents, and technical challenges.
There will be some “power areas” where you will accelerate but this tour is not meant to be a “fast” experience. This is an off-road experience with rugged terrain that may include steep climbs, uneven terrain, jolting bumps, trees, tree branches, water, mud, slippery areas, dust, and other objects that might become airborne or could hit or be hit by Guests or the ORV. You or another tour member might get stuck or have mechanical challenges that cause the group to focus on those issues which can alter any tour. There is always the limited possibility a vehicle can roll but speed and lack of training/supervision is the most common cause of rolling vehicles. This is part of off-roading and will be handled as quickly as possible but can change the tour experience.

This was the trip of a lifetime, and a terrific deal. I have an amazing experience during my holidays with Black Rhino Expeditions. I will definitely go on another tour on my next holiday.
Excellent – a great package the company offered, having me want to see more. Frank, our tour guide, was able to meet the many different needs of all the travelers. Looking forward to my next adventure with Black Rhino Expeditions.
What a wonderful time! This was our first time with the company, and certainly won’t be our last. Everything was in order from the time we arrived until we departed. Our guide was wonderful and went above and beyond to ensure we have a fantastic adventure.
I’ve attended 3 offroad trips with Frank. The trips have been awesome, full of adventure and beauty. More importantly, Frank is very knowledgeable in terms of leading a group, very well-prepared and just a great, kind person. Looking forward to more trips Frank…
I have been on several trips with Black Rhino Expeditions and their attention to details, quality and safety exceeded my expectations and cannot wait to go on another journey with them.
If I were to sum it up in one word, it would have to be “Spectacular”. Frank is exceptionally good at what he does, hence the smiles on our faces before, during and after each trip!!!
Frank – thank you so much for one of the best experience of our lives. My two kids and I had a great time on your expedition. That was my first time in Death Valley and it was an experience that I will always remember and I can’t wait to go back. I can’t wait for the next Adventure. And again, thank you so much for unforgettable trip through the desert.
I have been going on adventures with Black Rhino Expeditions since 2008 – every trip has been epic. Extremely well-planned and organized.

4x4 / Jeep Adventure Trips
If you're excited about motorcycle adventures in any of the regions on our website, the lowest cost way of having such a motorcycle trip is to do it self-guided!
One of the World's Most Expensive Hobbies (motorcycle riding) demands that we're careful with spending when possible, so by going "on your own" with one of our rental motorcycles, you'll be able to avoid the costs of having our guides and support staff with you.
In some regions, we offer pre-paid hotel packages with route notes or GPS to make the trip just a bit easier to carry out, but if you'd just like to rent a motorcycle and "go it alone," a self-guided tour might be just for you!
See All the Great Self-Guided Riding Trips We Offer Here!
Our Guided Group trips offer the ultimate in convenience for motorcycle travelers seeking a "turn key" solution for an amazing riding experience. Our bi-lingual guides make sure the tour route is enjoyed to the fullest extent, while a support truck driver carries all the luggage, necessary tools, parts, etc. to make the trip a safely realized success. Plus, as an added bonus to all of these amazing features, riders on guided trips typically end up making new riding friends from around the world over the course of these expeditions! Each of our trip pages will list if there is a guided tour available or contact us to learn more about your options.
Dual Sport Motorcycle Adventures
Whether you've been inspired by the motorcycle trip stories of Ewan McGregor & Charley Boorman riding BMW bikes around the world, or your own adventurous spirit brought you RIDE Adventures, rest assured: You're not alone in the quest for the next great dual sport trip!
Especially if you're the type of rider who constantly has the urge to break away and ride somewhere outside of a regular riding routine; the greatest off-pavement routes still remaining can be enjoyed through our rental motorcycles and/or Guided Group Tours. Not sure where the "best" place is for your next Dual Sport ride? Part of the service we provide is to offer unbiased advice, based on your wishes for an incredible trip!
See the Many Great Dual Sport Motorcycle Options We Offer!
Pavement Trips
If your plans to "Ride the World" mean you'd prefer staying on the pavement than riding the dirt, then we have a great and growing list of options to help you complete your mission. Some of these tours may still include 1-5% non-paved surfaces such as driveways, hard-packed gravel roads, but they're still the types of trips that nearly every motorcycle rider can handle (be sure to check the trip description or inquire with us.) Some of the finest roads full of twisties and long, sweeping curves can be ridden thanks to the motorcycle rentals and guiding services we offer, so if you want to RIDE the best paved routes around the world, you've found the right service provider!
Check out our list of trips that focus on the greatest paved route options in each region.
Private Group
We welcome your Private Group to any of the locations shown on www.rideadv.com! Whereas all the tours with exact dates shown are essentially "open to the public," our Private Group Tours are customizable and can take place on the exact dates your group wishes. We'll need a bit of info on the front end to establish exactly what type of terrain, scenery, accommodations, and motorcycles you'll want to be riding, and from that, RIDE Adventures will create the perfect motorcycle trip package.
So if your Private Group wants specific trip features, formats, or dates, then Contact Us about organizing your Private Group adventure! !
Whether you're on a motorcycle or in a 4x4 truck or Jeep, there are plenty of RIDE Adventures to enjoy! The option to rent one of our 4x4's not only makes it possible to explore the incredible regions shown on our website, but if you've got friends wanting to explore by motorcycle, they'll surely appreciate having you drive along with a support truck. Carrying their luggage and acting as a safety-back up in remote regions can prove extremely valuable to motorcycle riders. No matter what, adventure travelers can be assured that we've designed the best routes possible for exploring each region, and customization is even possible in most cases.
All your 4x4 adventure travel plans start by Contacting Us to check on availability , so don't wait to secure your dates.
We're All Over the World
Each location you see on the RIDE Adventures website has been well-researched and ridden by our Staff members long before we began offering these as trip packages. Although it can be difficult to decide between an adventure ride through Peru, Patagonia , Baja , Europe , or Asia for your next great trip, our combined expertise in these areas will help you choose the right option to "scratch that international adventure itch." If you're on a mission to RIDE the world piece by piece over time, we already have the rental motorcycles , 4x4 trucks , and other vehicles in these locations to make it possible.
As we continue to explore more of the world, keep checking back with us as new opportunities become available through RIDE Adventures!
CUSTOMER TESTIMONIALS
"Eric, I wanted to write a sincere thank you for our amazing experience with your two day training option right there in Bend Oregon on September 3rd and 4th. My brother Nick organized this trip. He owns his own KTM and rides often here in Western Colorado. His goal was to ride with us, his two brothers.
- Richard, we're glad if our Training Expedition in Oregon was a positive step forward in building your skillset for adventure riding, and look forward to seeing which bike you end up with : )
- David and Marina Belton enjoyed the variety of riding in Patagonia, from the tight, valley-lined roads to the wide open spaces on our "Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego & Ushuaia!" Self-Guided Motorcycle Trip Package. Come again, and thanks for sharing!
"W hat a fantastic trip. Lovely countries, great people, superb riding all facilitated by a very professional and friendly set up that you provided. Many thanks to all your support staff ahead of the adventure when all questions were responded to promptly and efficiently. I would not hesitate to recommend you to friends and will certainly use ride LLC again in the future.
-Eric Nijman from The Netherlands wrote these kind words on the heels of his Self-Guided, Truck Supported "Full Patagonia Adventure" motorcycle tour in early 2019. So glad you enjoyed, Eric, seems everyone who rides in Patagonia does : )
-Michael Potter and his wife, Helen must have enjoyed themselves, as so many of us do when riding and exploring the incredible land of Peru. They were part of our Guided Group "Machu Picchu Express" tour , and we look forward to riding with them again in the Andes, soon.
-Mark Stewart from Australia on the heels of a successful ride to Alaska with his friend Phil, and our Oregon-based motorcycle rentals . A pair of Africa Twin's, 2 experienced riders, the Pacific Northwest, British Columbia, Alberta, the Yukon, and all the moose, elk, bears, and other wildlife along the way, quite a journey a long time in the making. Just loved this picture as two voyagers were headed out of the shop that day. Come again, guys!
-Phill Whitford, thank you very much for your kind words about how your Self-Guided, Fly & DRIVE The Patagonia Experience trip package worked out! Come on back sometime and bring friends...we have motorcycles, too : )
" FYI, I got back to Uvalde Texas yesterday afternoon. It was a great trip, I would sum it up as successful. The hotels, restaurants, and bike you choose were the best. The route and scenery was unbelievable. The weather was a bigger obstacle than I expected as were some of the roads. Nothing really difficult but 2700 miles was a challenge. Did I tell you that I celebrated my 70th birthday during the ride? Also I met lots of interesting people. I’m headed to Colorado to ski in ten days. And then???
- Congratulations to Ed Carnes from Texas for celebrating his 70th year with a successful solo Self-Guided "Fly & RIDE Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego & Ushuaia" trip ! We sometimes wonder if some riders have read too much about the drama of Patagonia's conditions and are turned away as a result. Yes, winds and conditions can be tough sometimes, but Ed just showed us all how to do it: Be patient, keep at it, ride smart without showing off for your friends, and most careful, experienced dual sport riders can enjoy some of the world's best riding safely. This photo taken and recognized as the spot where RIDE Adventures was born by the simple thought " more people need to experience this ." Ed had a few clouds that day, but when that sun cracks and the waters turn bright blue ... oh what a site.
"Eric! We had a f___ing blast. We had a few WiFi-less days at the end or I would have written sooner. Yes- we hit a rabbit (or rather it hit us, pretty sure it was suicidal) in the road btw Perito Moreno and El Calafate. Shook us up for sure. As for mister rabbit- he exploded. The bike took it super well- he hit the crashbars which was lucky.sorry about any damage, looked purely cosmetic, but let me know! The bike itself was awesome- rey thinks the rear breaks might need to be replaced- it had enough brake pad to get us safely through the trip but the pads are pretty much toast by the end of our trip.
- Congratulations Kendra and Rey for your marriage and honeymoon, and for choosing to spend that time riding the Self-Guided Fly & RIDE The Patagonia Experience! You were the first Riders of the season to complete this route, so congrats on the safe finish. As for the rabbit, sounds like he was too "rascally" : )
"My partner and I didn’t speak a bit of Spanish but we chose to do the 7 day self guided tour. I loved Colombia and its fantastic views. The people were friendly and the cities were full of history. Our point of contact, Ricardo, was awesome. He was incredibly helpful and friendly. He went above and beyond what we expected. He will be very successful in this business and you can’t go wrong with him on your side. The bikes were new and in great shape, absolutely perfect for the terrain. We had some problems but nothing we couldn’t deal with and it didn’t slow us down. It was planned for more off-road for us. We had mud, rocks, rain and landslides to deal with. It made it a true adventure! I think you could ride the country for months and never ride the same road twice. WE WILL BE BACK!!!"
- Chris Coonshead and his buddy, David, seem to have discovered what Riders from around the world are talking about: Not only is Colombia perfectly safe to experience in person, but our Self-Guided "Fly & RIDE The Essential Colombia Adventure Ride" package makes it easy to have an experience like the one they had! Come on back, guys, the bikes and fun people of Colombia will be waiting : )

Pardon the simplification, but the United States is big. And one of the best ways to explore our vast landscape, which includes deserts and rainforests and everything in between, is behind the wheel of a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV). The latest models from companies like Polaris are capable machines that can not only get you deep into the backcountry but do it in style, with features such as built-in GPS and entertainment systems, True On-Demand All Wheel drive, and even air conditioning. And driving into the backcountry is just the beginning. Load your Polaris with gear and you can “Think Outside” the routes and use these machines to access some of the best hiking, camping, fishing, and even mountain-biking destinations in the lower 48. Here are 15 of the best off-road trails and routes in the U.S., many of which are perfect for multisport adventures.
Aroostook County ATV Trails , Maine
Pull up northern Maine’s off-road trails on Polaris’s Ride Command navigation system and you might be a little overwhelmed by the options at hand. There are more than a thousand miles of marked ORV trails through Aroostook County, where some of the most rugged mountains in the Northeast tower. Fear not; plot your course and stick to it with the system’s real-time GPS (you can even keep track of others in the Group Ride feature). Consider using Katahdin Lodge as your base camp and you’ll have direct access to the heart of Aroostook’s trails, where backcountry lakes, waterfalls, and the occasional moose await. And bring your hiking boots—Maine’s backcountry is full of gems, including a rugged portion of the Appalachian Trail.
Delancy Loops OHV Trail, Florida
Northern Florida’s Ocala National Forest is wild, packed with endless mazes of sand pine, natural lakes, and rivers fed by crystal clear springs. The trail system here has a mix of ATV and OHV trails, including more than 200 miles set aside for smaller vehicles, like the Polaris Ranger , General , and RZR as well as some class 1 trails for ATVs less than 50 inches wide, like the Polaris 570 Trail , and enabling you to ride from lake to lake, spring to spring. Pack your snorkeling gear—the springs in northern Florida offer a unique diving experience.
Windrock Park, Tennessee
The RZR Pro XP is the most agile UTV on the market, with 22 inches of travel that adjusts on the fly thanks to the Dynamix Active Suspension. The machine is built for the most technical terrain on the planet. Terrain like what you’ll find at Windrock Park, a privately owned off-road system in eastern Tennessee with 300 miles of trails traversing some of the steepest, wettest, and rockiest mountains in the South. It’s a rainforest, so expect mud, rocks, and tight trails between towering hardwoods throughout the 73,000-acre playground.
Hatfield-McCoy Trail System , West Virginia
Imagine a paradise where several hundred miles of rowdy 4×4 trails connect a handful of small towns, inns, and restaurants, allowing you get wild on the trails during the day and civilized in town at night. This is the beauty of the Hatfield-McCoy Trails, 600 miles of marked paths through wild and wonderful West Virginia. The Polaris RZR Pro XP ‘s 22 inches of travel and auto-adjusting shocks will allow you to explore every nook and cranny with pro-level control. Or comfortably pack your entire family in a single UTV and enjoying this adventure together. You can do that in the Polaris Ranger Crew XP 1000 , which holds six people with plush seats and too many cupholders to count, all in a dust-free cab with climate control.
Little Sahara Dunes, Oklahoma
You might not expect to find a vast desert two hours north of Oklahoma City, but here it is: Little Sahara State Park, 1,600 acres of rolling sand dunes, some of which reach 75 feet high. The dunes offer a choose-your-own-adventure style of riding as you get creative across the sand. Explore the trails solo in a Polaris Scrambler XP 850 ATV or look to catch some air with a buddy in Polaris’s RZR Turbo S , which, thanks to its 168 HP and incredible 25” of travel, is built to tackle the most challenging terrain. Bring your RV or snag a campsite and turn it into a weekend affair.
Drummond Island, Michigan
Roll from tight trails in dense hardwood forest to open meadows with long-range views at Drummond Island , an expansive system of trails overlooking Lake Huron with 60 miles of ATV-specific paths and 40 miles of wider ORV-friendly routes. It’s perfect terrain for an ATV like Polaris’s iconic and versatile Sportsman 570 Trail —some loops will take you to the edge of the lake, and riders have the tendency to extend their adventures for miles more than they intended because of the beauty of the landscape. Or you could spend hours geeking out on the Steps at Marble Head, a series of rock shelves that lead to a view extending into Canada.
Roughrider OHV Trail, North Dakota
Going off-road doesn’t have to be uncomfortable. Polaris’s Ranger XP 1000 NorthStar is downright civilized, with bolstered seats, multiple cupholders, and the Pro Shield Cab System, which keeps the wild out and the air-conditioning in. It’s the perfect vehicle for Roughrider , a former rail line that’s been converted into an OHV trail following the Missouri River. Think of it as a 16.5-mile greenway for ATVs and UTVs that’s perfect for the family. The scenery is beautiful and the terrain is beginner-friendly. Pack a picnic and make a day of it.
General Sam’s Offroad Park, Texas
You could spend a week exploring the 60 miles of trails within General Sam’s Offroad Park, a 750-acre OHV playground an hour north of Houston. But if you have a Polaris RZR Pro XP , you’d be remiss not to spend at least a few hours in the Competition Area, a course designed to test your skill and your vehicle’s mettle with sand and mud obstacles that are guaranteed to make you smile. Feel free to let the RZR Pro XP out of its cage—the 2021 model was built stronger than ever, so you can be confident in the wildest of situations. Beyond the Competition Area, General Sam’s trails traverse pine forests, creek drainages, swamps, rock walls, and epic ruts.
Bulldog Canyon, Arizona
Drive into the backcountry; camp. Wake up and drive deeper into the backcountry; camp. Repeat until you’ve exhausted the 34,000 acres of the Bulldog Canyon OHV Area, where 20 miles of marked trails cruise through the Sonoran Desert and the Goldfield Mountains, just an hour from Phoenix. The terrain is straightforward and suitable for beginners and families, but the scenery is off the charts. Primitive campsites along the trail make Bulldog Canyon an ideal multi-day destination for off-roaders looking to take their time and explore the nonmotorized trails within the canyon on foot.
Broken Arrow Trail, Arizona
Consider Sedona’s Broken Arrow Trail a hike in your side-by-side. The scenery is impeccable as you drive through the high desert of the Coconino National Forest, with views of red-rock canyons and towering buttes. The eight-mile out-and-back is wide enough for a jeep but can get technical at times as you climb sections of firm rock. Fortunately, it’s nothing the Polaris General XP 1000 can’t handle, with its 100-horsepower engine, 13.5 inches of ground clearance, and 30-inch tires that offer gecko-like traction.
Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area, California
Winds, time, and an ancient lake formed the Imperial Sand Dunes, a 40-mile-long system of sand mountains in southeastern California, 200 miles from Los Angeles. It’s one of the largest collections of inland dunes in the country, and temps often hit triple digits in the summer. Most of the off-road action happens around a palatial, 300-foot-tall dune called Oldsmobile Hill. It’s a social scene where you’ll find ATVs and UTVs of all kinds racing across the sand—the perfect setting to reap the benefits of RZR Turbo S ‘s 25” of pure suspension travel, which allow you to approach whoops and wide-open terrain with comfort and confidence.
Ouray, Colorado
Polaris’s General XP 1000 —a beast of a machine with 100 horsepower and 13.5 inches of ground clearance—might be the perfect vehicle for exploring Ouray and its surrounding slice of the San Juan Mountains, where hundreds of miles of unimproved roads and trails extend from town, climbing the steep San Juan backcountry. The area is known as America’s Switzerland because of the towering peaks and picturesque meadows. It’s also an adventure playground with world-class fishing, rock climbing, hiking, and mountain biking in all directions. The General’s oversize storage bed, which can hold up to 600 pounds of gear, will come in handy when you’re preparing for days of adventure.
Baumgartner Trails, Idaho
Backcountry is on the menu in this system, which has more than 200 miles of ATV and motorcycle trails ascending and descending the Sawtooth National Forest along the South Fork of the Boise River. Many of the trails are limited to vehicles no wider than 48 inches, perfect for the Polaris Sportsman 570 , with its narrow footprint and True On-Demand all-wheel drive. Think technical singletrack with steep pitches, sheer drop-offs, narrow switchbacks, and lots of rock scrambling. Bring your camping and fishing gear—or set up at the Baumgartner Campground, which has a hot-springs-fed soaking pool.
Moab, which might be the most OHV-friendly town in the country, is surrounded by countless acres of off-road bliss, from mellow old mining roads to rock-crawling adventures. The slickrock is the draw here, offering waves of grippy rock seemingly built for off-road vehicles. Ride Poison Spider Mesa, a hybrid of dirt and rock, and you’ll see arches and petroglyphs. Add a hitch rack to your Polaris General and you can bring your mountain bikes with you to access some of Moab’s signature bike trails. Or load up your RZR , including cold drinks and lunch in the Polaris Northstar cooler , which has multiple tie-down points for easy securing, for an all-day adventure.
Paiute ATV Trail, Utah
The Paiute has more than 2,000 miles of routes traversing Fishlake National Forest and BLM land in south-central Utah. Don’t worry: with Polaris’s RIDE COMMAND GPS navigation system , you’ll always be headed in the right direction. The 7-inch, in-dash screen allows you to plan and create your route before you put tires to dirt. If you’re riding with others, you can keep track of everyone on the display in real time. It will come in handy on the Paiute, which centers around a 275-mile loop that passes through small towns, but accesses limitless side trails that extend deep into Utah’s backcountry. Expect anything from firm, packed roads to gnarly switchbacks on narrow trails.
Always moving, forever searching, never at rest. Our passion for the outdoors unites us, creating a bond that goes beyond the mechanical. Our off-road vehicles take you where others can’t – from the remote hunting stand covered in snow and brush to the race track in the desert sun and anywhere in between. Think Outside and find your own new adventure with Polaris.
