Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ Tour: Variety Picks the Best Moments, Key Songs, Iconic Outfits and More

Taylor Swift Eras tour

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is already one for the history books. As the first United States leg wrapped on Wednesday in Los Angeles, Variety staffers were in the crowd singing and dancing along as they had through much of the tour. From the first shows in Glendale, Ariz., to her six-show marathon end run in L.A., Variety has reported on the Eras Tour as it crisscrossed the country.

Swift takes audiences on a journey through her musical eras with a staggering 44-song setlist. The Eras Tour spans the singer-songwriter’s entire discography, from her self-titled debut album to the recently released “Midnights.”

Swift had surprises in store at each performance, including quick outfit changes and guest appearances from Ice Spice, Phoebe Bridgers, Taylor Lautner and more. Gracie Abrams, Haim, Gayle, Muna and Owenn were among the openers on the first U.S. run.

Up next, Swift is journeying to Paris in May of 2024 to kick off the Eras Tour’s U.K./European leg. The singer revealed back in July that Paramore would precede her on stage for the entire European run. The Eras Tour also isn’t saying farewell to the U.S. quite yet, as Swift announced 15 more shows in October and November 2024 in four North American cities: Miami, Indianapolis, New Orleans and Toronto.

In order to toast her first run, we’ve selected our best moments from Swift’s three-hour plus shows. From the complicated choreography to the surprise songs to the dedicated fans, the Eras Tour has redefined the scope of what a pop artist can deliver.

Check out Variety ‘s selection of best moments from the Eras Tour below.

The mash-up of “August” and “Illicit Affairs” — I don’t think anyone saw that coming, and it was exhilarating to scream: “Don’t call me kid/ Don’t call me baby!” — ES (3/17)

The best performance of the night was “Enchanted” from Swift’s “Speak Now” era. Clad in a shimmering princess gown, Swift served full fairy tale glamour while belting out some of her strongest vocals of the evening in the show-stopping number of love and longing. — KS (3/18)

“Betty” was the star of the superior “Folklore” section, with Swift’s lovely voice getting center stage, harmonizing beautifully with the other singers as the whole band sat on the steps and jammed out. — WE (5/26)

The rotating acoustic section of Swift’s setlist is always a highlight of the show, but I think I won the jackpot of surprise songs when she performed “King of My Heart” on piano during her fifth night in Los Angeles. — HK (8/8)

It has to be a tie between the surprise songs, “Dress” and “Exile” — “Dress” because she’s never performed it acoustic and the crowd went absolutely insane; “Exile” because she sang both her and Bon Iver’s verses. When she performed his, the audience took the liberty to sing her harmony and she adorably laughed at it. — EL (8/7)

Seeing “Enchanted” live was the highlight of my experience – both as a fan of all things princess-like and electric-guitar-powered ballads. Draped in a glistening ball gown, Swift looked like something out of a fairytale surrounded by the stage design’s lavender visuals. — TG (8/7)

My favorite song is “Fearless,” so it was special to raise our hand hearts while celebrating “Taylor’s Version.” But I saw the show with one of my closest friends, who is a lymphoma survivor, so getting to scream it out to “Bad Blood” – a song she’d joke about during chemo – was particularly memorable. — AJ (3/25)

On a night when Swift announced the re-release of “1989” and finally performed “New Romantics” as one of her surprise songs, it was still the poignant piano performance of “New Year’s Day” that hit hardest. Closing out the U.S. leg with lyrics like “Hold on to the memories, they will hold on to you” was perfect. — JM (8/9)

During the “Evermore” era, the witchy “Willow” dance was everything to me. — ES (3/17)

Swift has never been more badass than she is while executing sexy, powerful choreography for “Vigilante Shit” from her “Midnights” era, dancing on chairs with an entourage of ladies beside her. — KS (3/18)

I love orbs! So, imagine my surprise when all of the dancers were conjuring who-knows-what with some mystical orbs in “Willow.” — WE (5/26)

“Vigilante Shit” might be Swift’s edgiest choreography to date – and is easily the best dance moment of the show, with her and her dancers utilizing prop chairs and the rising stage. — HK (8/8)

She throws it back to old school Britney days with her “Vigilante Shit” routine. I love a chair moment. — EL (8/7)

I enjoyed the traditions Swift set for her performances of “Red” during the tour. She interacted with her background dancers, recruiting one of them to sing the definitive “EVER” in “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” and also handing off her iconic black hat to a young girl in the audience during “22.” — TG (8/7)

Swift and her dancers doing the “Bejeweled” TikTok dance is an iconic bit of fan service! But personally, I danced the heel off my cowboy boot at some point mid-“Shake It Off.”— AJ (3/25)

Working the chair for “Vigilante Shit.” The TikTok videos don’t do the live performance justice. — JM (8/9)

When she came out in her “Enchanted dress,” you could hear gasps reverberating throughout the stadium. — ES (3/17)

Swift’s purple tiered ballgown, which she only debuted after the release of “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version),” is the perfect complement to the era’s romantic, dreamy aesthetic. — KS (8/4)

Swift’s lavender faux-fur coat during the “Midnights” set looked very cozy. I could take a nap in it! — WE (5/26)

On the fifth night in Los Angeles, Swift premiered a new “Midnights” era bodysuit that was the best outfit of the night. But those same fans gave her a run for her money in the costume department. Special shoutout to @victoriabrowne’s husband’s personification of the “All Too Well” red scarf and the three folks nearby who dressed up as yogurt shop employees, a nod to Swift’s lyrics in “Invisible String.” — HK (8/8)

Her matching blazer and boots during “The Man” were a full vibe. — EL (8/7)

It was so hard to pick which outfit was my favorite, but I loved her in the wispy, lavender dress that she wears when we first see her standing on the roof of the moss-covered cabin for the “Folklore” era. — TG (8/7)

As a “Midnights” fan, it’s a tie between the Oscar de la Renta crystal t-shirt and faux fur coat for “Lavender Haze” and the midnight blue bodysuit and boots for “Midnight Rain” and “Vigilante Shit” because that beadwork is immaculate. — AJ (3/25)

On Night 6 in L.A., the winner was a three-way tie between a trio of new outfits worked into the show, each in the iconic “1989” blue shade: An “Enchanted” ballgown, a “Folklore” frock and a sparkly “1989” two-piece set. — JM (8/9)

Most Surprising Moment

I was not expecting the “Reputation” part of the set to hit as hard as it did. — ES (3/17)

Every night, Swift performs two “surprise songs,” which fans have eagerly made spreadsheets to break down and analyze. Perhaps the most unexpected choice of the bunch was “exile” from her “folklore” album, which she chose to sing solo (without duet partner Bon Iver) for the first time. — KS (8/7)

Ice Spice coming out to perform “Karma” at the very end of the night. You haven’t lived until you’ve seen her drop a casual “Facts” live. — WE (5/26)

During Swift’s “Evermore” set after her spoken section, the crowd in Los Angeles broke into an eight-minute standing ovation. My ears are still ringing. — HK (8/8)

Seeing her perform “Dress” shocked me, since it’s about Joe Alwyn. — EL (8/7)

We had the distinct pleasure of being at Swift’s first show with a guest artist during her surprise songs (yes, I know, it was only week 2 of the tour), but the crowd’s roar (and the scream I screamed) when Marcus Mumford appeared at the end of the catwalk to play “Cowboy Like Me” was positively wonderous. Swifties will know, but Swift recorded the “Evermore” track at the Mumford & Sons frontman’s studio in the U.K., so hearing them duet live was incredible. — AJ (3/25)

Best Crowd Moment

Inglewood, CA - August 07: Fans enjoy Taylor Swift's performance during The Eras Tour at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood Monday, Aug. 7, 2023. (Allen J. Schaben / Los Angeles Times via Getty Images)

It has to be everyone screaming “All Too Well” at the top of their lungs. The collective catharsis is still ringing in my ears. — ES (3/17)

During the Reputation Stadium Tour, one Swiftie created a chant during her song “Delicate,” shouting “1, 2, 3, let’s go, bitch” between the intro and the first verse. Now, the entire arena erupts during this section, with Swift herself counting the numbers on her fingers as fans shriek. — KS (3/18)

Swift had wonderful openers and watching a young girl near me scream every word of Phoebe Bridgers’ poison pen kiss-off “Motion Sickness” was a sight to behold. — WE (5/26)

Swift’s supporters are arguably one of the most enthusiastic – and kindest – fandoms around. It was wildly endearing to see dads bring their daughters to shows (proudly rocking their dad-Swiftie merch) or people swapping friendship bracelets with each other and with the security guards and crew at the venue. — HK (8/8)

Seeing the entire crowd of empowered women — and some men! — scream “Fuck the Patriarchy” during “All Too Well” made me cry. — EL (8/7)

I loved watching all of the young girls with sparkles in their eyes as they sang along to all of Swift’s songs with glitter-painted faces and brightly colored outfits that resembled the Eras. — TG (8/7)

The 10-minute standing ovation after “Champagne Problems,” which put all the previous standing Os to shame. — JM (8/9)

Best Standout Moment

The overall stage design was mesmerizing — I particularly loved the table-setting scene during “Tolerate It.” It struck me more as a piece of theater than a concert. — ES (3/17)

Swifties frequently refer to Swift’s performances of “Don’t Blame Me” as “church,” and seeing her sing it proves exactly why. Swift’s vocals soar as the music swells in the bridge, and smart lighting design that illuminates the entire stadium during her high notes creates a truly epic quality for the number. — KS (3/18)

The crowd hit the loudest roar during “Cruel Summer,” and the whole stadium singing at the same time showed Swift’s true power and the joy she brings to so many people. — WE (5/26)

The entire stadium screaming the bridge to “Cruel Summer.” I’m not sure if I will ever recover. — HK (8/8)

Nothing beats the fact that the countdown clock before the show begins blasts Lesley Gore’s 1963 anthem “You Don’t Own Me” at a time where Swift has finally gotten her music back. — EL (8/7)

In my experience, the standout moment of this tour didn’t happen inside the concert — but outside of it. When exiting, I was stunned by the number of people who were waiting outside the stadium without tickets, but just happy to be there hearing her sing. — TG (8/7)

I saw Swift in 2018 on the Reputation tour and I was impressed, but she really upped the ante with Eras. The idea of three-and-a-half hours of live performance is a true athletic feat and I couldn’t help but marvel at the idea she’s only 33 playing a show that would culminate most artists’ entire career! — AJ (3/25)

Phoebe Bridgers and Taylor Swift perform their duet "Nothing New" on the Eras Tour.

Taylor’s Eras Tour Set List Gets An Extra Song When Phoebe Bridgers Is The Opener

Wait, this is so major!

In case you thought 44 songs just wasn’t enough , Taylor Swift upped her Eras Tour set list to 45 songs, but only on a few specific dates. And those dates are the ones where Phoebe Bridgers is on the lineup as an opener. Bridgers finally made her Eras debut on May 5 at the Nashville concerts, and not only did she bring out some exciting surprise guests during her own set, she also returned to the stage during Swift’s set to perform their duet “Nothing New.”

Bridgers pulled out all the stops for her Eras Tour opening set list, which includes her own solo hits as well as beloved songs from her supergroup boygenius . Prior to her Eras debut on May 5, fans speculated about whether Bridgers would bring her fellow boygenius band members on stage at all, and thankfully, she did! Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus joined her to perform the hit boygenius single “Not Strong Enough,” as well as “I Know the End.” It’s unclear if Baker and Dacus will be able to join Bridgers for all her Eras dates (Bridgers is scheduled to open every show in May), but hopefully they’ll pop up again from time to time.

The boygenius segment was the icing on the cake of Bridgers’ opening set. Before that, she performed her solo hits like “Kyoto” and “Motion Sickness.” Check out the set list below:

It should be noted that Bridgers’ set list does fluctuate a bit. On her second night in Nashville, Bridgers added “DVD Menu” to the list , and replaced “Not Strong Enough” with “Cool About It.”

And the surprises didn’t stop there. Bridgers became the first Eras Tour opener to join Swift on stage during the main concert, where they performed their duet from Red (Taylor’s Version) , “Nothing New.” After they repeated the performance the next night, fans confirmed that Swift had added “Nothing New” to her set list for the dates when Bridgers was present.

So if you’re one of the lucky ticketholders who’s attending the Eras Tour before Bridgers’ final show as an opener on May 28, you can look forward to a very special extra song.

Taylor Swift's long-awaited Eras Tour has finally started and the singer is delivering on all fronts — from performance to vocals and, of course, fashion.

On opening weekend, Taylor Swift gave us plenty of whimsical, elegant, and nostalgic looks as we traveled with her through the eras of her career. She wore a handful of familiar styles, with slight tweaks to fit her current style, and gave us plenty of sparkle and shine. Throughout 15+ more stop stops (and counting), Taylor has given us even more memorable fashion moments.

If you are scouring the internet to find out where each look is from, fret not. Here's a look at all the looks Taylor Swift has from during her Eras Tour — from opening night in Glendale, Arizona, to some of her most recent shows in New Jersey and Chicago — and what you can expect to see her wear if you plan on attending one of the upcoming shows.

1. Lover era

Taylor Swift performs onstage for the opening night of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium on March 17...

The first era is  Lover , a time that signified growth, comfort, and basking in the glow of the daylight. Taylor starts the night off in a  custom Versace bodysuit , bright and bold. She pairs it with an equally shiny pair of  custom, studded Louboutin boots . Night one's bodysuit was a playful, iridescent purple color, and she opted for a slightly more elegant, gold-colored one for the second night of the Eras tour kickoff weekend.

The shoes are sparkly, but they aren't really the star of the show until she puts on a blazer, also studded, and also Versace, and performs "The Man." The shoes instantly grabbed the spotlight as she kicked her heels up and flashed the red bottoms. This is the first of several pairs of custom Louboutins that Taylor wears throughout the night – they're the  sole footwear provider for the tour , just like during the  Reputation  tour.

At her show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, the star debuted a new Versace bodysuit that sparkled even brighter than the original one she wore. There are brighter crystals, shining in purple, and extra details, like tassels down her thigh. She paired the new bodysuit with a pair of ombré bedazzled Versace heels, also in purple. Adorning her neck was the Versace Crystal Butterflies Chain Necklace to complete the look.

In a seamless transition to the era that sealed the deal for her as a stage performer and style icon, the  Fearless  era portion of the night brought back shimmery dresses made to move around. The boots stay on, but she trades out the sparkly bodysuit to dance in a storm in her best dress.

One of the big themes in her clothes throughout the night is fringe, which becomes an accessory to the singer as she moves around the stage and dances around singing her best hits. This  custom Roberto Cavalli dress  allows her to do just that, move around freely and shine bright.

On the second night of the tour, Taylor opted for fringe down the legs in  another Roberto Cavalli custom dress  embellished with Swarovski crystals. Again, the movements looked just as mesmerizing in this dress as the first night.

As the tour has continued, Taylor has debuted another equally stunning dress to embody the  Fearless era. The dress is similar to her custom Roberto Cavalli dress with fringe down her leg, but in silver.

3. Acoustic interlude

Taylor Swift performs onstage for the opening night of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium on March 17...

During the opening night, Taylor referenced her debut era playing her first-ever hit song, "Tim McGraw." This era falls into an acoustic set, where Taylor does one of her favorite things: She plays two surprise songs each night to give every fan a unique experience during the show they choose to attend.  The acoustic, slowed-down portion of the show gives the fans a breather, a time to connect with their favorite singer as she’s able to take a seat at the piano and chat with the crowd before she gives a surprise performance.

During this segment, she has so far worn a  Jessica Jones  dress with ruffles that hug her frame as she sits by the piano. The first night she wore a magenta-colored version of the dress. On night two, it was green. We first wondered if we'd see more colors as the tour continued and TSwift delivered. She’s also worn the stunning dress in a yellow shade as well.

4. evermore era

Taylor Swift performs onstage for the opening night of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium on March 17...

Next up is  evermore  era, for which Taylor wears a simple but bright mustard dress from  Etro , also custom. To perform the songs from this quaint but grand era, the stage is set with trees along a foggy backdrop. The tone of the show shifts here. This is where Taylor gets to sit at the piano and commandeer the crowd with her lyrics. There is no need for fringe and sparkles as the crowd sings along at the top of their lungs to "champagne problems" to accompany her.

5. Reputation era

Taylor Swift performs onstage for the opening night of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium on March 17...

During the  Reputation  tour, Taylor made a bold choice to abandon the pants and embrace the bodysuit. She brings that energy back to represent this era with one of the fiercest ones we've ever seen her in; an asymmetrical, show-stopping  black and red colored custom Roberto Cavalli one . As we've realized by now, nothing on this tour will be dull on the sparkle, and this number features sequins studded along the leg in that infamous snake pattern familiar to this era.

6. Speak Now era

Taylor Swift performs onstage for the opening night of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium on March 17...

To sing one singular song from the  Speak Now  era, the fan-favorite "Enchanted," Taylor emerges ready to impress. You can't help but be enchanted by the soft glow reflecting off the sparkles of the  Nicole + Felicia Couture bespoke gown  she's wearing. This is reminiscent of the Valentino gown she wore when she sang this song on the  Speak Now  tour but grander, and of course, with more bling.

On night two of the tour in Glendale, Arizona, Taylor switched up this look and gave the audience an equally shiny but slightly different look, opting for a  Zuhair Murad Couture custom gown  with a starburst design embellishment.

Taylor Swift performs onstage during Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium on March 18 2023 in Swift City...

This portion of the show is where she’s been able to switch it up the most. As the tour progressed, the star has given us plenty of glorious gowns to “ooh” and “aah” at. Another Zuhair Murad Couture custom gown was added to the  Speak Now era collection, with thousands of sequins sewn on in a starburst design.

Some nights, she graces the stage in an Elie Saab Fall 2020 Couture gown that is full of tulle and drama. Other nights, she opts for something a bit more simple, but elegant: an Ellie Saab Couture gown from Fall/Winter 2022, straight from the runway that has fabric flowers sewn down the bottom half of the dress. This dress’s train drags behind her as she walks down the catwalk of the massive stage softly and slowly, matching the tone of the song.

The next era is introduced in a spirited manner as Taylor revisits a popularly recreated look: the "Not A Lot Going On At The Moment" T-Shirt from the "22" music video. This look is paired with a Gladys Tamez hat that she gives to a lucky audience member during the performance.

On the second night of the tour, she opted to poke a bit of fun at herself with a T-shirt that read "Who's Taylor Swift Anyway? Ew" after lyrics from the song "22" instead.

As the North American tour reached its halfway point, she introduced another shirt that says, “We Are Never Getting Back Together, Like Ever.” The sequined shirts are all  custom by Ashish , who also made the original shirt in the “22” music video. Once the t-shirt is removed, a beautiful red-to-black ombrĂ© bodysuit is revealed, fittingly so for the  Red  era.

When it's time to sing her magnum opus, "All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor's Version)," a sparkly red overcoat is added atop the already striking bodysuit. She puts her best foot forward for a song that has a story as remarkable as her career, with a red guitar to match.

She also used this time, for the first half of the tour, to bring out her collaborator and tour opener  Phoebe Bridgers to sing their acoustic and emotional song “Nothing New.” On Bridgers’s last night on the Eras tour, Swift showed off a chain around her neck that held a small pendant. It was later revealed that the pendant was the  Give You The Moon Charm from Phoebe Bridgers’ Catbird collection. Her footwear for this portion of the show is a seemingly comfortable pair of  loafers from Louboutin .

8. folklore era

Taylor Swift performs onstage for the opening night of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium on March 17...

For the  folklore  portion, we see the singer in a beautiful, muted  purple Alberta Ferretti dress  full of ruffles and flares. It's "fairy in the woods meets cozy baking in a cottage," which are exactly the right vibes of this imaginative and rustic era.

During her performance of "august," Taylor uses body movements across the stage to express her frustration, and the lavender-toned dress added the perfect amount of drama and flair to the performance. As she moved, the  chiffon fabric  moved along with her seamlessly. On night two, she wore a similarly graceful  Alberta Ferretti dress , but in white. It had curtain drapes with delicate hanging threads, adding a  beautiful texture  to its movement.

Taylor loves to swiftly move around the stage in various Alberta Ferretti dresses during the most emotional portions of the  folklore  era. She’s shown us two more versions of custom dresses that were created for this portion of the show.

9. 1989 era

Taylor Swift performs onstage for the opening night of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium on March 17...

As the night progresses, we see more and more fringe. How else would we see the iconic "Shake It Off" movements except in another  Roberto Cavalli custom two-piece set  covered in chunky fringe with sequins in various shapes and sizes? This look is similar to what the singer wore on her  1989  tour.

On the first night of the tour, the co-ord set was  magenta . On the second night of the tour, she swapped it for the same set, except in bright green.

As the tour has continued, the pop queen has added an additional color to the 1989 co-ord repertoire. We’ve now seen the same Roberto Cavalli set in orange as well. How many colors will we see in total throughout the tour?

10. Midnights era

Taylor Swift performs onstage for the opening night of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium on March 17...

As we reach the present-day era,  Midnights , we get to the peak of extravagance and pomp. It's time to celebrate the eras past that have allowed Taylor to become the artist and performer she is today. The dress she chose to perform the culmination of her career is a custom  Oscar De La Renta  that's looser fitting but still heavy and studded in iridescent crystals. It's paired with a new set of custom Louboutins studded in black crystals. To add more drama, she has a fur coat on, also a custom piece from Oscar De La Renta. Everything about this look screams "Bejeweled," a song placed near the end of the setlist but a vibe that's exuded for the entirety of the night.

As this era progresses, she sheds layers. The dress is shed to reveal an  Oscar De La Renta custom bodysuit , an article of clothing she seems to be very comfortable performing in. This time, there's black detailing. It's soft but striking and just sexy enough to perform the Cell Block Tango-esque choreography to "Vigilante Sh*t" with chairs and all. She even added a garter to her thigh to give a bit of a sexy edge to complete the look.

To finish off the show, another layer is added with even more fringe and even more sparkle, if that's even possible. This multi-colored statement piece is fabulous, and it's a perfect way to physically represent just what the last three hours and 15 minutes were all about: Taylor celebrating and shining with the 70,000 other people in the room with her.

As Bridgers came on stage to perform "Nothing New," from Red (Taylor's Version ), she told Swift, " You are my hero." Swift told her, "Thank you for being the friend that you’ve been to me. This is really something we could’ve written in a note to each other: 'Thank you for being a friend that I will never ever stop confiding in and trusting. I love you with everything.' But yeah, this is the last time we’re gonna get to sing together on this tour."

The charm will be available to preorder just through this Sunday, June 4, so act fast if you want one!

Taylor Swift and Phoebe Bridgers on stage together

Some guy must have told Taylor Swift her aura’s moonstone.

The pop phenom gave friend and Eras Tour opening act Phoebe Bridgers a sparkling shoutout at MetLife Stadium this weekend, hitting the stage in bling from the star’s Catbird collection .

For Bridgers’ last night on the sold-out stadium tour , Swift teamed a sparkling red Ashish coat with the Phoebe Bridgers x Catbird Give You the Moon Charm ($398) and Swimming Pool Chain ($498) — a fashion tribute she pointed out to Bridgers on-stage before performing their duet, “Nothing New.”

The skeleton-loving singer first teamed up with Catbird in December, when she released the Kissing Skull Friend Charm Set ($490).

The charm style sold out in less than 24 hours and was soon followed by a full collection with the New York-based brand, which also made a $25,000 donation to the National Center for Transgender Equality in honor of their collaboration.

The moon charm Swift opted for is engraved with Bridgers’ lyric “I’d give you the moon” in her handwriting on the back. (Although perhaps the star was also thinking of her own “Bejeweled” lyric, “Some guy said my aura’s moonstone just cause he was high.”)

The dainty designs — including Swift’s selection — will only be available to shop for a few more days, according to the brand’s Instagram, so be sure to shop, well, swiftly to score the same style.

Although Bridgers’ and Swift’s song is called “Nothing New,” the Catbird bling was hardly the only new fashion at the East Rutherford tour stops.

The “Midnights” singer added to her already-extensive repertoire with pieces including a new burgundy Etro dress for the “Evermore” section of the night and a fresh, feathered Ellie Saab gown for the “Speak Now” portion.

Bridgers isn’t the only fellow songstress she’s shouted out with her recently added styles, either, as she paired her “Lover”-themed bodysuit with a Versace Crystal Butterflies Chain Necklace ($2,2500) from Dua Lipa’s co-designed collection .

Just call it “New Rules” for Eras Tour style.

Taylor Swift Brings Her “Eras Tour” to Gillette Stadium (w/ Phoebe Bridgers, Gayle) [Photos]

We were fortunate to be among the ~65,000 attendees at Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” show at Gillette Stadium (Foxborough, MA) with Phoebe Bridgers and Gayle.

With the entire stadium run completely sold out months in advance, Taylor Swift ’s Eras Tour is the hottest ticket this spring and summer! Swift’s first tour since her 2018 outing for Reputation , the long-overdue run spans her entire discography, highlighting each period of her career. The Eras Tour features several up-and-coming and well-established singer-songwriters, including Phoebe Bridgers, Gracie Abrams, Gayle, Paramore, HAIM , MUNA, beabadoobee, and others. We were fortunate to be among the ~65,000 attendees on Ms. Swift’s first night at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA, on Friday, May 19th.

The festivities began in earnest when the parking lots opened at 2:30 and hordes of Swifties, most sporting outfits tied to one or more of Swift’s eras, descended upon the stadium. It was a mixed demographic of families with kids, young adults, and middle-aged fans all united in their devotion to Taylor Swift. Parking lot sing-alongs, barbecues, and lots of posed photos and selfies filled the time until opening act Gayle hit the stage. The “ABCDEFU” singer opened her set with “everybody hates me” and “sleeping with my friends.” With little time for banter, she continued with “don’t call me pretty,” buoyed by the voices of multitudes of young fans singing along.  The Nashville-based singer-songwriter closed her set with a stadium-wide sing-along to the viral TikTok anthem “ABCDEFU.”

Up next, “sad girl” indie/folk pioneer Phoebe Bridgers emerged to Disturbed ’s “Down With The Sickness” to kick off an incredible set that would again become one great big crowd sing-along, beginning with her songs, “Motion Sickness” and “DVD Menu.” As it was a shorter slot for her performance, Bridgers was a bit more subdued on the banter side of things but still made time to jokingly dedicate her song “Kyoto” to all the dads in attendance, noting that if they were present here, the song’s lyrics probably didn’t apply to them. Next weekend marks the final dates for Bridgers on this run and for her Punisher tour cycle, so don’t expect to see her again soon outside of her upcoming gigs with supergroup  Boy Genius .

The mostly full stadium continued to sing and dance their way through her performance, getting the loudest they had all night as Bridgers, in the midst of her final song, “I Know the End,” got to the final section where she screams. The crowd was happy to help her out in a deafening display—a preview of what was to come during Swift’s set!

As the sun began to set and Lady Gaga ’s “Applause” rang out, it was nearly time for  Taylor Swift to perform. A clock appeared on the massive stage screen, slowly ticking down until it hit zero, and a backing track played out with elements of all of Taylor’s eras. Dancers emerged, each with a massive petal-like contraption strapped to their back, flapping as they formed into a huddle, from which Swift appeared at the center and launched into the chorus of “Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince.”

Clad in a stunning sequined bodysuit themed to her Lover era, Swift stood atop a platform that arose from the center of the stage, beaming at the crowd as they sang along to every single word. She continued into “Cruel Summer,” then pulled on a sparkly, sequined coat and headed to the back of the stage to perform “The Man,” during which she ascended an office set that echoed elements of the track’s famous music video.

The production on the Eras Tour is nothing short of mind-blowing. Numerous dancers, wardrobe changes, complex choreography,  props, pyrotechnics, a constantly changing stage and light-up floor, geolocated bracelets in the crowd that turned the stadium into an ever-changing sea of colors… it was too much to take in fully in one viewing! And the fans… I have never seen or heard such a loud and gleeful crowd before. The dancing, singing, and screaming along would carry through the night, but for as much energy as they put forth to Swift on this night, she seemed to return it tenfold—performing for nearly three and a half hours across all nine eras in her 45-song set.

The  Lover  era soon transitioned into the  Fearless era, with Swift sporting a dazzling dress to perform the title track from that record, followed by two other tracks, “You Belong With Me” and “Love Story,” with the crowd’s voices at times almost drowning out her own as she sang the chorus to the latter.

The transition to the Evermore era was marked by showers of sparks before pine trees raised up on the stage backline and Swift emerged in yet another stunning outfit to match the theme and kicked into the anthemic ““tis the damn season.” This tour is the first chance for the singer-songwriter to perform this album, along with Lover ,  Folklore , and  Midnights , i.e., half of her full-lengths, all of which had come out just before or during the time of Covid and the related touring uncertainty, something she highlighted to her fans during this block of songs.

At one point during “marjorie,” which is about Swift’s late grandmother, who was an opera singer, fans began to—unprompted—light up their cell phones until the entire stadium was a sea of lights. Evidently, this was the first time this had happened since Swift paused after the song to tell the crowd, “That was really stunning of you to do that, thank you!” She would pause again at her gorgeous, moss-covered piano for several minutes after “champagne problems,” tearing up visibly as the crowd continued to roar in adulation.

The eras continued to tick by. Highlights of the more pop-forward Reputation included songs “Look What You Made Me Do” and “Delicate,” the latter of which has revived a fan tradition of chanting “one, two, three, let’s go, b*tch!” in the buildup to the first verse. Swift reappeared in a massive ball gown for a brief homage to Speak Now , with the infectiously catchy “Enchanted,” before continuing into her Red era, which saw her bring Bridgers back out for a stunning performance of “Nothing New,” a ‘From the Vault’ track featured on Red (Taylor’s Version). Swift closed out the era with a massive rendition of “All Too Well (10-Minute Version).”

As the  Folklore era began, a cabin appeared from the stage, with Swift reclining on its thatch roof to perform “the 1” and descending beneath its roof as she continued into “betty.” It’s hard to pick a single defining moment from this era as, much like the record, the set really doesn’t have a single dull moment. The crowd’s voices were loudest for “cardigan,” which marked the end of this era. Swift once again disappeared, only to reappear to launch into the 1989   era with “Style.” The dazzling display continued as dancers came out on brilliantly lit, neon bicycles for “Blank Space,” later producing glowing golf clubs with which they pretended to destroy a glittering sports car.

The end of the  1989  era marked the most special moment of each night—one where Swift plays stripped-down acoustic/piano versions of two songs that will not be repeated on another night unless she makes a mistake. On this night, Swift chose to play “Should’ve Said No,” from her 2006 self-titled debut, and “Better Man (Taylor’s Version),” another ‘From The Vault’ track from Swift’s album Red (Taylor’s Version) . This culminated in a dive into the stage, which displayed a video of Swift “underwater,” swimming along the length of the catwalk to the back of the stage. She emerged for the final era of the night with “Lavender Haze,” “Antihero,” and more absolute bangers from her most recent record, Midnights .

The night closed with “Karma” and a cacophony of fireworks as fans began to make their way out of the stadium. It was truly an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience—and there’s still plenty of time to catch one of the remaining shows. Taylor Swift and her cohorts will be moving on to play New Jersey this coming weekend at MetLife Stadium before continuing ultimately to Sofi Stadium in Inglewood, CA, in August. If you can manage to snag tickets, it’s well worth it—when else will you get to hear all these eras of Swift in one show!? The remaining dates on the Eras run are listed below!

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Rehearsal Outfits Include All the Activewear I Want

She's preparing to hit the stage in under-$100 gems from Nike and Free People.

Halie LeSavage

On the promo circuit, Taylor Swift is deep in her gothic Tortured Poets Department fashion era. Behind the scenes, she's practicing for the next leg of her Eras Tour in the down-to-earth activewear my workout routine is missing.

Swift shared a YouTube short filled with clips from rehearsals for the next leg of her record-shattering tour on Thursday, April 25. In addition to glimpses at updated choreography and, potentially, new songs on the setlist, Swift showed a workout wardrobe packed with under-$100 finds. One clip shows her practicing in Nike sneakers and Free People joggers; in another, she twirls through her routine in a PopFlex skort set that's gone viral.

While I'm not on a grueling workout schedule like the world's biggest pop star, I can imagine these pieces becoming personal heroes for runs, walks, and yoga sessions. Ahead, I've broken down three outfits featured in the snippet of Swift's Eras Tour practice sessions. Leave the sleuthing for setlist updates to the other fans. Here, there are just IDs on activewear with thousands of five-star reviews (including Swift's, apparently).

Any Swiftie can tell you that their fearless leader loves Free People: She's consistently worn FP T-shirts, dresses, and sweaters in her street style over the years, including on trips to the studio to record The Tortured Poets Department . Now, we know she also prepares for the stage in her FP gear. One of the first clips in her rehearsal outfit montage show Swift in a casual pair of Free People joggers, layered with a tank top and a supportive sports bra. On her feet, she swaps her onstage custom Louboutins for a pair of Nike sneakers .

For those of us who aren't practicing for a three-and-a-half-hour performance, it's exactly the sort of low-key look that can work for yoga, breathwork, or a long walk. Forme's high-performance bra is also a cult-favorite, with more than 1,700 five-star reviews praising its failsafe support and comfortable-yet-strong fabric.

Good Karma Long Tank

In her first round of promo for "Fortnight," The Tortured Poets Department 's lead single, Swift shared a clip playing pickleball and wearing PopFlex's flouncy Pirouette skort . She brought the piece back with a matching, corseted sports bra for rehearsals in Thursday's video. The skort combines a coquette tiered skirt with flexible, breathable undershorts—and Swift's stamp of approval has caused orders to spike 600 percent, according to a rep for the brand. This is your sign to order your own set before they sell out.

For a segment of rehearsal that appeared to reference The Tortured Poets Department , Swift practiced in a PopFlex sports bra and coordinating skort.

For segments of rehearsal that appear to feature new choreography (fans haven't seen those canes and hats before!), Swift dresses in a crewneck sweatshirt of unknown provenance and a black skort. The second piece is once again from PopFlex, proving that even newly-minted billionaires appreciate an under-$100 find.

Swift also let her inner sneakerhead out with this last rehearsal outfit. She's wearing the Ganni x New Balance 1906R sneaker, a collaboration that debuted on the Copenhagen Fashion Week runway for the Spring 2024 season and quickly sold out. (Select sizes are still in stock at Farfetch.)

Taylor has not been on tour since her Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018. Since then, she has released four (yes, FOUR!) brand new albums and two re-recordings (as of this writing).

About Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Taylor Swift (@taylorswift)

Taylor’s new tour is called The Eras Tour , in which she plans to celebrate her entire career with her fans. She has described it as a “journey through all of her musical eras”. Not only will we get the chance to relive previous eras and live through the ones that never got the opportunity to have a tour due to the pandemic (Lover, folklore, and evermore), but we will also get to celebrate Midnights and her re-recordings.

And what about the incredible guests? For the US leg of the tour, she has lined up Paramore, HAIM, Phoebe Bridgers, Beabadooobee, Girl in Red, Muna, Gayle, Gracie Abrams, and Owenn.

Tomorrow will be the first day of the US leg of The Eras Tour and Swifties everywhere are getting ready for it. From exact replicas of her marching band costume from the Red tour to romantic Juliet dresses inspired by Love Story, to mirror balls and bejeweled corsets, Swifties are letting their creativity flow excitedly.

Concerts are awesome, but they’re not the most comfortable. They involve a lot of people, a lot of walking, and a lot of movement. Most of us just want to be able to move around and be as comfortable as possible. And costumes are fun, but they might not be the most practical. So, don’t expect this to be a list of costumes and how to create replicas. I’m taking inspiration from all the eras and creating Eras tour outfits based on them.

I’m also basing this on the location of my concert date: L.A. during the summer . I’m creating looks with this in mind. Take the weather into account when creating your own looks and make tweaks accordingly!

General Tips for What to Wear to a Concert:

Before we get to the actual looks, here are some general tips to take into account when you create your Eras tour outfits:

  • Be mindful of others . If you are wearing hats or headpieces of any kind or bringing posters, remember there will be people behind you. Don’t wear or bring anything that could potentially be too big to obstruct someone else’s view.
  • In most venues, ONLY clear bags are allowed, and there’s a size limit . Check if the venue you are going to is one and abide by their specifications.
  • Maybe this makes me old, but I think concert earplugs are essential. For your ear health and/or if you have sensory overstimulation concerns. Please, take care of yourself and get some.
  • Most venues are cashless . Again, check the website of your venue first and prepare accordingly.
  • As much as I love fashion, comfortable shoes should be a priority, no matter the costume. You want to be able to walk in case of an emergency.
  • Again, maybe my inner old person is showing here, but take a jacket with you . Even an overshirt is fine, but you need something to put on when you leave the venue. You’ll thank me later!
  • Have as much fun as you can but be mindful of others. We are all there for the same purpose: to see Taylor and celebrate her music, so be kind to everyone around you .

Now with that out of the way, let’s get to the outfits!

Oh, Debut Taylor . I still remember the very first time I heard her. I was on my family’s computer and found the Our Song music video. And I loved it. Taylor’s first album is less sweet than Fearless and Speak Now . She had a more aggressive sound under the country production.

The Eras Tour Fashion Guide: Debut Taylor black v-neck dress, silver cowboy boots

For my Debut Taylor look, I wore a black A-line dress . If you have been reading my posts for a while, you might remember this dress from my very first Taylor Swift post . The dress has a V-neck, like most of Taylor’s dresses during that era, and it kind of resembles the one she wears in the Our Song music video.

Debut Taylor was still Taylor, so she had a lot of glittery, shiny things all through that era. I wanted to emulate that with my shoes. That’s why I decided on my silver cowboy boots to accessorize.

Taylor Swift Debut Album Mood Board:

The Eras Tour Fashion Guide Debut Taylor Swift Moodboard

To create a look inspired by Debut Taylor, you will need two things: flowy dresses in dark colors and cowboy boots . If you decide this is the look for you, go for the color scheme above and make sure your cowboy boots won’t hurt your feet.

Eras Tour Outfit Inspired by Fearless (Taylor’s Version)

Fearless (Taylor’s Version) is when Taylor really hit it big. Love Story , You Belong With Me , and Fifteen all came from this album and it is the album that cemented her in the cultural zeitgeist forever.

When someone that is not a Taylor fan thinks of her, chances are this is the era they have in mind. Even more than 1989 .

The Eras Tour Fashion Guide: Fearless Taylor flannel pants, white crop top, black converse, wide frame glasses.

My Fearless Taylor outfit is the only one that is costume-y, and that’s only because it’s probably the comfiest costume, as it’s literally PJs. My inspiration for this look comes from the You Belong With Me music video.

For this look, I wore a pair of plaid pants and a white t-shirt with a small pigeon patch . Accessorizing was easy for this one since I already wear glasses and they have a thick frame . Finally, sneakers for this one are a must, in honor of the lyrics “she wears high heels/ I wear sneakers”, so I went with a pair of black high-top Converse . I made an “I Love You” note as a final detail.

Taylor Swift Fearless Mood Board:

The Eras Tour Fashion Guide Fearless Moodboard

If you want to do a Fearless-inspired look, I highly recommend this one, as it is easy to recreate. You can even DIY your own Junior Jewels t-shirt.

But if you want a more fairytale look, wear flowy midi skirts or dresses in off-white or white . Maybe add some ballet flats , to emulate her being barefoot a lot through this era, or you could always go with cowboy boots .

Eras Tour Outfit Inspired by Speak Now

Speak Now is a beautiful album infused with literary elements and tropes. Speak Now is the first Taylor album I physically owned, and it has some of my favorite songs ever, like Mine and The Story of Us .

The Eras Tour Fashion Guide: Speak Now Taylor, lilac wrap silk dress, beige espadrilles

For my Speak Now Taylor outfit, I decided to emulate the purple associated with the album. I wore a light purple silk wrap dress . This dress is very flowy and feminine . Again, Taylor spent a lot of time barefoot during this era, so I went with a pair of beige espadrilles to pay homage to this.

Taylor Swift Speak Now Mood Board:

The Eras Tour Fashion Guide Speak Now Moodboard

Speak Now Taylor is full-on feminine country magic. I went with this type of outfit as it is comfortable, but you can try a midi tulle dress or skirt in nude, pinky colors , or in shades of purple . Floral shirts, crochet detailing, and long sweaters are all perfect for this era.

Again, cowboy boots are still an option.

Eras Tour Outfit Inspired by Red (Taylor’s Version)

When I say that Red (Taylor’s Version) is a fan-favorite, I mean it. It was considered Taylor’s best album for years, that is until folklore came along.

But Red is not only loved by fans, it is cherished. The song All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version) is emblematic of Swifties and the power that music and fans can have.

The Eras Tour Fashion Guide: Red Taylor, black and white striped t-shirt, high-waisted black shorts, black sock booties, red sunglasses, red lipstick

For my Red Taylor-inspired look, I wore a black and white striped t-shirt with a pair of black high-waisted shorts . For shoes, I went with a pair of black sock booties . Finally, I had a pair of red sunglasses to accessorize and used red lipstick .

Taylor Swift Red Mood Board:

The Eras Tour Fashion Guide Red Moodboard

If you want to create a Red Taylor outfit for the Eras tour, I recommend it! I think it is the easiest album to do.

Red has three colors: black, white , and red . Clothing-wise, you have a lot of options with this one: think high-waisted items, striped shirts, white or dark grey t-shirts, Oxford shoes, black booties, retro-looking sunglasses, and, obviously, red lipstick .

You can even add a black hat ; just make sure it won’t obstruct someone’s view of the concert.

Eras Tour Outfit Inspired by 1989

1989 was the first pop album Taylor did, and she smashed it. In this album, she’s a lot more playful and sarcastic with her lyrics and her public persona ( Blank Space, Shake It Off, We Are Never Getting Back Together ), but she also includes beautiful, honest songs like Clean.

During this era, there were a lot of retro visuals and styles, and Taylor wore a lot of ’50s and ’60s-inspired items.

The Eras Tour Fashion Guide: 1989 Taylor, blue polka dot flowy dress, black sock booties, red lipstick

To create my 1989 Taylor look, I kept coming back to the blue dress she wears in the Out of the Woods video. It’s so iconic, it got a shout-out in the next era.

I started with a blue, polka dot dress . I figured that with this dress, I could channel the blue, flowy vibe from the video, and the polka dots would bring in the retro style of the era. Again, I used the same black booties from the last outfit and wore a red lip .

Taylor Swift 1989 Mood Board:

The Eras Tour Fashion Guide 1989 moodboard

If you’re going for a 1989-era outfit, I recommend the midi/long blue dress because it is so iconic and very comfortable to wear. But, if you want something more inspired by Taylor’s overall style, remember: 1989 is retro .

In the 1989 era, there were a lot of skater skirts, crop tops, glittery bomber jackets, and funky sunglasses . Fit and flare is the cut you’re looking for. You can also wear a black lace top or dress , to emulate her Blank Space video, or a funky pajama set to pay homage to We Are Never Getting Back Together. And, again, red lipstick is a must.

Eras Tour Outfit Inspired by reputation

And then, there was reputation . This album has a special place in my heart, as it was the first time I admitted to myself that I was a full-on Swiftie, and it was also a massive help because it came out during a very dark time in my life.

Taylor’s angrier songs were the ones I loved the most at that time, but now I’ve realized that reputation is actually an album about love , not anger.

The Eras Tour Fashion Guide: reputation Taylor, green velvet hoodie, black skirt, black suede over the knee boots, black tights

For my reputation Taylor look, I wore a black mini skirt with an oversized green velvet hoodie . I added the skirt because the hoodie was a bit shorter than I expected, and I didn’t want to flash anyone.

Then, I put on sheer black tights and over-the-knee black boots . Finally, I added glittery silver eyeshadow and burgundy lipstick to darken my makeup.

Taylor Swift reputation Mood Board:

The Eras Tour Fashion Guide reputation moodboard

To create a reputation Taylor outfit, your mind might go to black first. It’s a good instinct, especially if you opt for interesting fabrics like velvet , sequins , leather , and latex . But you can also add or wear jewel tones and a TON of rainbow sequins .

Reputation is about street-style , distressed items (think sweatshirts and tees), fishnet tights , over-the-knee boots and ankle booties, and oversized tees and sweatshirts as dresses. I will say that reputation is probably the most comfortable album to emulate for a concert.

Eras Tour Outfit Inspired by Lover

Oh, Lover . We’ve had a journey.

When Lover first came out, and my own posts won’t let me lie , I was not a fan of the pastel, colorful aesthetic. That’s just not where my own style was at that moment. I was very guarded, and my darker style reflected that.

But now, four years later, Lover is easily my favorite Taylor album by far.

The Eras Tour Fashion Guide: Lover Taylor, mesh pink midi dress, hearts pattern, pink slip dress, metallic pink cowboy boots, red lisptick

For my Lover Taylor look, I wanted to dive into the pink love side of things. For it, I wore a pink slip dress and, over it, a pink mesh midi dress . The mesh dress has a little black hearts print on it.

In the Me! music video, you can see the cowboy boots making a comeback, so I wore my pink metallic cowboy boots . This is the look I will be wearing when I go to the concert in L.A.

Taylor Swift Lover Mood Board:

phoebe bridgers eras tour outfit

Lover truly has its roots in previous albums. From reputation, Lover borrowed a lot of street-style items and interesting fabrics, like velvet and mesh. But it has a lot of ’60s-inspired items in it, too (like 1989) , and it gave a modern twist to the fairytales of her earlier albums.

All of this is done in bright colors and pastels, especially pink, blue, and lilac . Anything golden and sunshine related is a great Daylight homage.

Eras Tour Outfit Inspired by folklore/evermore

Now, we have reached Taylor’s alternative albums: folklore and evermore . While they are separate albums, they’re considered by Taylor as sister albums. For this, folklore and evermore are seen as one single era, fan-named as folkmore.

The Eras Tour Fashion Guide: folkmore Taylor, white cotton dress, off white cardigan, brown booties

For my folkmore Taylor look, I wanted to follow the last look she wears in cardigan’s music video and the first one she wears in the willow music video. I believe this is the best look to represent the era since it clearly connects both singles and albums together.

As a base, I wore a white cotton dress . I borrowed it from my mom. Then, I threw on a — you guessed it — long off-white cardigan . For shoes, I opted for a pair of brown lace-up booties , similar to the ones she wears in the album art for both folklore and evermore . Finally, I tried to tie up my hair in braids as best as I possibly could.

Taylor Swift folkmore Mood Board:

The Eras Tour Fashion Guide folkmore moodboard

If you want to create a look based around either or both of these albums, the easiest way would be to throw on an off-white or white cardigan and braid your hair .

These albums are all about simplicity in style . During this era, Taylor wore a lot of natural fabrics, like cotton , in neutral and warm tones . Fall-related items , like coats , booties , cardigans , and flannels are great for a folkmore look.

On the other hand, you can also go ultra-glam, like something silver and shiny ( mirrorball ), or with an old-money, fancy type of look with a green accent ( the last great American dynasty ).

Eras Tour Outfit Inspired by Midnights

And we have finally arrived at the last album. Midnights is Taylor’s latest, brand-new album. (There were two re-recordings in between evermore and Midnights. )

Here, she is playing even more with her sound. This album makes a lot of callbacks to previous albums, relationships, and parts of her history.

The Eras Tour Fashion Guide: Midnights Taylor, orange knit top, blue flowers pattern, orange high waisted wide-leg jeans, white sneakers

For my Midnights Taylor look, I debated a lot about what to do. But I landed on this look, inspired by two of the three music videos she has released for the album : Anti-Hero and Lavender Haze .

For my look, I wore an orange knit polo top with blue flowers as a pattern. Then, for bottoms, I chose a pair of high-waisted, wide-leg, orange jeans . Finally, for shoes, I just threw on a pair of white sneakers .

Taylor Swift Midnights Mood Board:

The Eras Tour Fashion Guide Midnights Moodboard

With Midnights , you have a ton of outfit inspiration from either the videos or the songs. Either way, the album has very ‘ 70s aesthetic style choices, both casual and glam.

For the casual side of the album, there are a lot of knit and crochet tops , especially polo and halter tops , wide-leg jeans, corduroy pants , and oversized t-shirts .

On the glam side, black and navy blue corsets , bejeweled items , star patterns , extreme cat-eye eyeliner , faux fur , and platforms .

Eras Tour Outfit Using Taylor Swift Official Merch

This one is just a bonus for those who want to style merch they already own. With merch, I always try to be as comfortable as possible, wearing just my mom jeans, a light layer, and a pair of sneakers with it.

If you have any of Taylor’s t-shirts or tank tops, that would be ideal since they’re the most comfortable option to wear during a concert. Try wearing them with your favorite and most comfortable bottoms, they could be jeans, a skirt, or even leggings. For shoes, boots or sneakers would probably be the best idea.

The Eras Tour Fashion Guide Styling Offcial Merch, Midnights Colo block sweatshirt, jade green skinny jeans, white sneakers

I only have sweaters and sweatshirts from Taylor’s merch since those are the items I gravitate to the most, so I wore my Midnights color-block sweatshirt with a pair of skinny jeans that are a beautiful jade color .

I wanted to wear these jeans because they have the same color as one of the alternative covers she released. For shoes, I just wore a pair of sneakers since they’re my go-to option for concerts.

I just wanted to say, I have been following this site off and on for the past twelve years. I first found it my sophomore year of college and fell in love with it. I recently had a friend get tickets for both of us to go to the concert and the first place I thought to go look for an outfit to wear was this website. I am so happy that this website still exists and is sharing all things fashion. I love it just as much today as I did when I first discovered College Fashion. Thank you!

Hi, Morgan!

I’m so glad you keep coming back here for inspiration and hope that you find what you’re looking for.

Have an amazing (and fashionable ;)) time at the concert!

Thank you so much for commenting and coming back to CF for so many years 😀

In love with your pink mesh dress! Where did you get it?

Hi, Sandy! Isn’t it the cutest? I bought it from a Mexican brand called DaWearhouse. Here’s the link to their website ( https://dawearhouse.mx/ ) I’m pretty sure they deliver to the US.

Hi, Serena! Thanks for your comment! i’m glad you liked it 🙂

“It Was Magic”: Sabrina Carpenter Talks Kicking Off Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour

By Christian Allaire

Sabrina Carpenter Talks Kicking Off Taylor Swifts Eras Tour

On Thursday night, Taylor Swift brought her record-breaking Eras tour to Mexico City—and the hits-filled show marked the start of a new opening act for singer Sabrina Carpenter. (Paramore, Phoebe Bridgers, and Beabadoobee have all opened for Swift, too.) “Night one felt unlike any crowd I’ve ever played to before,” says Carpenter. “It was magic.” With another show slated in CDMX this evening, Carpenter will continue to serve as Swift’s opening act through November, with dates in Argentina and Brazil. “It’s a great privilege,” says Carpenter. “Getting to tour with someone I love that greatly inspires me, and also has the kindest and most welcoming fan base ever—I feel so lucky to be part of such an indelible tour.”

Of course, prepping for such an experience was no easy feat. But luckily, for Carpenter, she’s already been in serious training mode for well over a year now. “I’ve been dreaming this up for a while, and thankfully I just got off a year-long tour of my own, so I felt like that helped me prepare,” says Carpenter. Even so, the Eras tour marks a whole new setlist and stage vibe for the singer, explaining that she wanted to devote all her effort to the performance. “I wanted to bring a lot of energy, since I’m 5 feet tall and there’s a lot of people,” jokes Carpenter. “So my band and I put a very fun show together.”

Carpenter also wanted to bring her fashion A-game to each concert, too. Working with the Ukrainian brand Frolov , Carpenter has committed to two custom looks for her Eras shows—a black and blue strapless mini dress, both with heart cut-outs at the bust. “I’m in my short skirt era—no surprise to anyone—but I felt especially attached to this custom Frolov look,” says Carpenter. “I wore it once before, [and] they were kind enough to make it for me in multiple colors. It really just shines on stage in a way I love.” The singer also loved their practical and wearable design. “They make such beautiful cutouts that feel sturdy and secure, so I don’t question moving in them,” says Carpenter.

As for what can we expect as the tour progresses? Perhaps the singer will debut some new fashions in the later dates—but for now, Carpenter is keeping things a secret. “You will have to wait and see,” teases Carpenter. “but I don’t play when it comes to my outfit, so...”

13 unpopular opinions about Taylor Swift's Eras Tour

  • The Eras Tour is without a doubt one of the best concert tours to ever exist.
  • But there are some things Swift could've done better, like include a song from her debut album.
  • Other things she got completely right, and fans are in the wrong for thinking otherwise.

Insider Today

With The Eras Tour, Taylor Swift has once again proven that she's a cut above the rest when it comes to her artistry and commitment to her craft.

Every weekend, she takes the stage around 8 p.m. local time in a new US city to perform songs from nine of her 10 albums, never once letting up until she takes her final bow more than three hours later.

I attended her concert at MetLife Stadium on May 28 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. It was easily the best show I've ever seen in my life.

I laughed. I screamed. I cried. I cried harder.

But after seeing the spectacle for myself — and taking in all the tweets and TikToks about it that the algorithms keep showing me — I've come to a few conclusions on the tour that differ from many of her other fans.

Here are 13 unpopular opinions I have about Swift's Eras Tour, from loving the inclusion of "The 1" to wishing she ended each night with a different era than the one she chose.

Replacing "Invisible String" with "The 1" was a god-tier decision.

phoebe bridgers eras tour outfit

On the fifth stop of the tour, Swift took "Invisible String" off the setlist and slotted the opening track to "Folklore" in its place.

It was a choice that many fans have since speculated was meant to hint at Swift's breakup from Joe Alwyn , which was reported a few days later.

If that's true, it's a mastermind move that signals Swift still wants her fans to find out about her life through her music first, instead of through news reports online. This motive stems all the way back to when she used to capitalize letters in her liner notes to give her audience clues as to who her songs were about.

So fans who think "The 1" shouldn't have made it onto the setlist are wrong for two reasons.

First, it completely overlooks the longstanding tradition of Swift signaling life updates to her fans through her music.

And second, there's just nothing like hearing those opening piano notes in a live setting for the first time. The "Folklore" section should have always begun with "The 1" and I will die on this hill.

(Also, Swift should absolutely release a studio version of the song that incorporates the note change on "take her home.")

Finishing with the "Midnights" era makes for an anticlimactic ending.

phoebe bridgers eras tour outfit

I understand the rationale of ending the night with an album called "Midnights" and sending your fans home with songs from your most recent project ringing in their ears.

But for a concert series called The Eras Tour, it's strange to base the finale on an era that hasn't ended and therefore hasn't had the time to build a sense of nostalgia or fully embed itself into listeners' lives.

Ending with an older era would ultimately be more rewarding for fans who've followed Swift's career for years and leave newer fans with a taste of an album they might've missed — especially as Swift continues rerecording her early work.

Instead, she should have ended on "Speak Now."

phoebe bridgers eras tour outfit

Picture this: It's the end of the night and Swift comes out in a ball gown. She begins "Enchanted," giving everyone in the audience the opportunity to scream back at her, "This night is sparkling, don't you let it go."

The song ends and Swift gets ready to sing the final track of the night, a song she's previously said on her last tour is a song "that for me, is always gonna be about you."

"Long Live" begins to play, fans start spinning around as confetti falls to the ground, and the last line Swift croons as the crowd goes wild is, "One day, we will be remembered."

This ending would've been the most appropriate option considering she utilized one of her Eras Tour shows to announce the upcoming release of "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)," her third rerecorded album and the first since starting the tour.

Instead, there's virtually no hype for the album within her setlist — all she sings is "Enchanted," and she doesn't even perform it in its entirety.

Swift's debut album also should've been represented on the setlist.

phoebe bridgers eras tour outfit

If Swift were to move "Speak Now" to the end, the spot vacated by "Enchanted" would be perfect for something from her self-titled first album.

"Enchanted" is currently wedged between the "Reputation" and "Red" eras — Swift easily could've bridged that gap with a "Picture to Burn" or "Should've Said No" moment. One of those angsty teen songs between those two eras would've been phenomenal.

Sure, moving "Speak Now" and adding "Taylor Swift" would mean she'd have to trim two other songs elsewhere, but there are easy cuts to make.

Personally, I'd be fine without "The Last Great American Dynasty" and "Bejeweled." We also don't need both "Tolerate It" and  "My Tears Ricochet," so axing one would free up time, too. (And I'm saying this as someone whose favorite Swift album is "Folklore." )

The "Red" section could be so much better if she swapped even one of the hits for a deeper cut.

phoebe bridgers eras tour outfit

Swift plays "22," "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," and "I Knew You Were Trouble" before launching into her 10-minute version of "All Too Well" (or "Nothing New" for the shows with Phoebe Bridgers.)

Individually, each one of the first three songs is a fun crowd-pleaser, but collectively, they don't fully represent the "Red" era to anyone who didn't solely consume the album through the radio in 2012.

Swapping even one of these out for another upbeat track like "State of Grace," "Holy Ground," or even the title track would strengthen the "Red" set exponentially.

Meanwhile, the 10-minute version of "All Too Well" is not a bathroom break and it's weird so many people see it as one.

phoebe bridgers eras tour outfit

This is literally Swift's magnum opus and some of you are skipping it?

The "Reputation" outfit is perfect and she shouldn't even attempt to find an alternative look for it.

phoebe bridgers eras tour outfit

I've seen fans on Twitter say that Swift must hate "Reputation" because it's the only era for which she has worn the exact same look every single night so far.

But if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The "Reputation" jumpsuit is the best look she wears the entire night, and Swift must know that because she even incorporates it into the video transition that plays on the screen as this segment of the show begins.

It's sexy, it's iconic, and it perfectly embodies the "Reputation" aesthetic — so much so that it outdoes every outfit she wore on the Reputation Stadium Tour by a mile.

In fact, the entire "Reputation" section is flawless. She chose exactly the right songs.

phoebe bridgers eras tour outfit

I am admittedly not a "Reputation" stan, but I did go to the Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018 and fully understand that it's an album made to be played in stadiums.

But when you have to distill that down to a few songs, I can't imagine a more perfect lineup than starting with "...Ready For It?" before diving into "Delicate" and "Don't Blame Me" and wrapping up with lead single "Look What You Made Me Do."

The energy at MetLife Stadium on May 28 was unmatched for every second of this era.

Meanwhile, some of Swift's other looks are, dare I say, ugly.

phoebe bridgers eras tour outfit

There's one dress she wears for "Enchanted" that looks like it's growing mushrooms on it, and another look for the "Fearless" era that has weird noodle-like strings at the end.

The yellow dress she wears for the acoustic set is also an unfortunate shade for her.

There should be a bit more time between the second opener and Swift's sets.

phoebe bridgers eras tour outfit

Once you're in the venue, there's not a whole lot of time to eat, drink, get merch, or even so much as go to the bathroom without missing out on an opening set.

When I attended, we arrived about an hour before the first opener and found out the merch lines would take more than an hour to get through, meaning we'd likely have to skip Owenn's set and even part of Phoebe Bridgers' in order to buy a sweatshirt and then food.

We opted to skip the merch and bought hot dogs and water before going right to our seats instead.

But even then there wasn't a ton of time to take photos or swap friendship bracelets.

In the time between Bridgers' and Swift's sets, we attempted to go to the bathroom, but the lines were so extremely long that we were still waiting a few minutes before Swift was expected to take the stage.

We ended up forgoing the preemptive bathroom break in favor of soaking in every second of Swift's set (and ultimately were fine for the entirety of the show). But spacing out the sets just a little more would help account for all the other things concertgoers want or need to do before planting themselves at their seats for three-plus hours.

But also absolutely none of the merch is worth waiting hours for.

phoebe bridgers eras tour outfit

None of the designs are all that great. There are way better fan-made options on Etsy.

The only good piece is the viral crewneck and even that one could've been better since the black text is barely legible against the navy.

Signs shouldn't be allowed in the audience.

phoebe bridgers eras tour outfit

Swift's set is carefully choreographed and she needs to keep it moving in order to hit every song before curfew.

She is not Harry Styles, who dedicates part of his set each night to interacting directly with fans and reading their signs aloud from the stage .

So instead, all that the signs are doing is blocking another fan's view.

Everyone in the audience likely paid hundreds of dollars to be there and deserves to not have the experience interrupted by someone holding up a giant piece of poster board in front of them, obstructing their visibility of the stage, Swift, and her dancers.

It's all good and fine to bring a sign to take photos with beforehand, but no one should be holding them up during the actual performance.

Ticket pricing is way too high even for face-value tickets, and Swift should've done more to prevent exorbitant resale prices.

phoebe bridgers eras tour outfit

When I saw Swift on her Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018, I paid $182.35 total for two seats in a 200-level section directly facing the stage.

That's roughly what you'll pay for two face-value tickets behind the stage at The Eras Tour. And that's about all you can get for that price.

Sure, inflation has skyrocketed in the past five years and Swift's celebrity has only risen since then, but my face-value floor ticket still set me back $535. That's an insane price to pay for any concert ticket, and I consider myself lucky. Many others have resorted to paying more than $1,000 to make it into a stadium on this tour.

In no way is the pricing entirely Swift's fault — $83 of my total payment went toward Ticketmaster fees — but she had more options to prevent scalping than fans might realize.

While Swift can't single-handedly stop bots from entering Ticketmaster queues and wasn't personally changing seats from standard to VIP in real-time during the presale, she does still have an extraordinary amount of power and could have prohibited ticket transferring before anything went on sale.

Earlier this year, The Cure announced terms they had set in place to minimize scalping and ensure fans secured tickets at their original price . This included making the tickets non-transferable to prevent them from being resold for profit, and using Ticketmaster's face-value exchange service so that any ticket holders that did need to resell couldn't charge more than they initially paid.

Tickets cannot be made non-transferable in New York or Illinois due to state laws, which would mean Swift's Chicago dates might've still faced awful resale prices, but the other 49 shows would've had better measures in place to prevent scalping.

These services weren't created this year, either. Ticketmaster has been allowing artists and event organizers to make tickets non-transferable since at least 2020 . Someone as huge as Swift absolutely could've set those rules in place late last year.

Matty Healy Joins Phoebe Bridgers During Her Opening Set at Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Nashville

The longtime friends teamed up for the stadium tour stop, as Healy played guitar during the entirety of Bridgers' set

phoebe bridgers eras tour outfit

Phoebe Bridgers had a special guest join her Saturday night at Taylor Swift 's Eras Tour!

During her opening set in Nashville, the Grammy nominee was joined by The 1975's Matty Healy — just days after The Sun reported that the musician, 34, was dating Swift, 33. Reps for both Swift and The 1975 did not immediately return requests for comment following the reports.

The team-up between Bridgers and Healy — whom she jokingly introduced to the crowd as "Mr. Matt Healy" — isn't anything new, as the pair have long been musical collaborators.

Bridgers was previously featured on The 1975's 2020 LP Notes on a Conditional Form , and also makes a cameo in their music video for Being Funny in a Foreign Language track " I'm In Love With You ."

The pair also shared the stage at the Ally Coalition benefit in December for a cover of Nico's "These Days" alongside Jack Antonoff and others.

Rocking Bridgers' go-to skeleton onesie, Healy was also joined on stage Saturday by her Boygenius bandmates Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker for a stacked opening set before Swift performed.

As for Healy and Swift, The 1975 vocalist was spotted at her Nashville date just a day before, having been snapped by concertgoers watching Swift perform at Nissan Stadium.

Never miss a story — sign up for PEOPLE's free daily newsletter to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from juicy celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.

Swift and Healy were rumored to have dated in 2014, though Healy previously denied that was the case. They have been friends for years and share a collaborator in Antonoff, who has worked with Swift extensively on her most recent projects and teamed up with The 1975 for 2022's Being Funny in a Foreign Language .

The dating rumors come weeks after PEOPLE confirmed Swift's breakup from actor Joe Alwyn after six years of dating, as sources claimed they split a few weeks beforehand. Swift has been on tour since mid-March.

Shortly after news broke of the split, a source close to the Grammy winner and the Conversations with Friends star told PEOPLE it was caused by "differences in their personalities."

Healy previously dated artist FKA twigs for close to three years , splitting in early 2022, as well as model Gabriella Brooks from 2015-2019. His band wrapped the Australian and Asian leg of their tour on Thursday in Manila and even welcomed Swift on stage for a show.

Swift made a surprise appearance at The 1975's first of two concerts at London's O2 Arena back in January, when she walked onstage during a break in the set to perform "Anti-Hero" and a cover of The 1975's "The City."

In September 2022, Healy initially dismissed talk of joining forces with Swift for her Midnights LP as "fake news," before admitting that he and his bandmates actually did work with the superstar on her latest album.

"We actually worked a bit on that but then the version of it never came out," Healy said in an interview with KROQ's Klein/Ally Show for Audacy's DTS Sound Space , adding that the collab was scrapped "for reasons that are not to be criticized."

"She's amazing," Healy added at the time.

One thing about Taylor Swift, she loves an Easter Egg . While the pop star typically leaves clues about her next moves within her music, lately the secret messages have been coming via her Eras Tour ‘fits . Though she has famously been sending Swifties notes via the T-shirts she wears on stage , recently, her jewelry has been making a statement.

Over the weekend, Swift called Phoebe Bridgers — who opened for the New Jersey leg of the Eras Tour — on stage to join her in performing their moody ballad “Nothing New” as part of her Red era setlist. Swift has a rotation of singers set to perform with her this season and to honor Bridgers’ final night on tour, she wore a sweet tribute to her fellow artist.

At Swift’s neck glimmered a moonstone pendant from Bridgers’ collaboration with New York-based jewelry store Catbird, which was released in February. The dainty orb ( $398 ) is set in 14k yellow gold with “I’d give you the moon” engraved on the back — a line from Bridgers’ “Moon Song” — in her handwriting.

The delicate adornment perfectly complemented Swift’s signature red lip and matching floor-length, sequined trench. Fans even caught the moment Swift showed Bridgers the necklace on video , where the latter instantly recognized her product.

The night before, Swift gave another nod to a different artist, also by way of accessories. Performing in a bejeweled onesie for her Lover Era, Swift wore a thick gold chain equipped with pastel-colored butterflies. The chunky necklace will look familiar to fashion girlies, as it’s actually from Dua Lipa’s new Versace collaboration , which dropped just last week.

Both designs are still available for purchase, though prices range largely, depending on the collection. Bridgers’ pendants are shoppable for $398-$198, while Lipa’s ornate Versace design is a cool $2.2k. Shoppers better hurry, though, as orders for the moonstone charm end June 1.
