In that case, just be aware: the Zodiac-style watercraft is driven speedily through significant waves for quite a distance, and passengers, particularly near the front, are slammed up and down quite a bit. I didn't mind this at all, in fact I enjoyed it, until one particularly swift, heavy slam-down jarred my neck and it felt a lot like whiplash. It hurt for a few days, and I worried the damage might be longer-lasting. It doesn't seem to be, although I still feel it from time to time. (Pro tip: Sit near the back if you want to be sure this doesn't happen to you. You won't have as good a view, but you'll be safer.) In other news, the caves are gorgeous and the crystal clear water is a spectacular blue-green. There are two stops for swimming (snorkeling if you have your own gear)--though the water was pretty cool, and there didn't seem to be any of the advertised "googles" available, LOL. We four didn't go in, though others did, and I somewhat envied them. Our van driver was friendly, didn't speak much English, but was happy to take the extra time to share a tuna fish lunch with us at the little beachside restaurant on our return from the boat ride. We were picked up at our cruise dock in Cagliari promptly, and returned there well in time to get back on board. It was just us four in the van, which was nice. Since there weren't any tours quite like this offered by our ship, we were very happy to find this one, and at a fraction of the cost of the (much shorter) ship tours. Read more Written June 22, 2023

Led by UK-national, Daniel Torres, and several Azorean guides, this Road Scholar package lasted 11 days and was geared toward an "older" crowd (60+). Beginning on Terceira, highlights included a stay in a charming boutique hotel in the UNESCO Heritage City of Angra do Heroismo, within walking distance of scenic gardens, a protected bay, and the hiking trails on Monte Brazil. Nearly all meals were included and were of good quality and variety, with special appeal to seafood lovers. Our daily schedule typically included a short (never more than 45 minutes) bus ride to a hiking trail at a caldera or seaside cliffs, hiking for 2-4 hours with guides and commentary on earpieces, and a late lunch either back at the hotel or as a picnic. Afternoons usually included leisure time with suggestions for local museums or other attractions. Trails were easy to moderately challenging and did not involve changes in elevation over about 1000 feet. On the downside, our group was larger than we anticipated (23), but we often split into smaller subgroups (e.g., for the hikes), and our bus had a large capacity so we could spread out, with our backpacks and gear not in our laps. Also, with so many congenial fellow travelers, there was always someone new to get to know at meals! Our leader, Daniel, was outstandingly caring and accommodated everyone's varying needs regarding diet and physical ability. The volcanoes, thermal pools, calderas, cow-dotted hillsides, stone walls, and quaint villages provided something new every day. Weather can be variable, so our itinerary was flexible, and we were very fortunate to have clear days on which to take in the higher elevation sights. Wildlife is limited, because these are quite isolated islands. However, there are some endemic bird species to watch for, and one can see lizards and even bats during the daytime. If you are very lucky, you could spot a whale from shore. The not-to-miss spot, in my opinion, whether you stay on the premises or not, is the Terra Nostra Garden Hotel's thermal pool and botanical garden. The pool is huge and naturally heated to 100 degrees. The garden has 31 acres of winding paths, grottoes, streams, forests, cycads, fern trees, and just about any plant you can imagine. Eden indeed! Starting from April 1st it will be carried out with the motor ship Ausonia, with a meeting place at the Marina di Stintino tourist port. LANDING TAX The payment of a Municipal Landing Tax on the Island of Asinara is required. This payment is made directly on site. From 1 October to 31 May: € 2.50 From 1 June to 30 September: € 5.00 Duration: 1 hour

The excursion continues to discover the Park. The next stop is on the narrowest point of the island, Cala di mackerel inside, where you can admire the outcropping rocks called "the dwarfs", a place where various species of aquatic and marine birds nest. Once in the central part of the island, another stop is made in Campo Perdu, a former prison branch. Here there is a riding school where you will have the opportunity to see horses, goats, white and gray donkeys up close. There will be the opportunity to visit the Marine Turtle Recovery Center of the Park. You will arrive at Cala Reale, a former quarantine maritime station, which was operational from the late 1800s to the early 1940s. The last stop on the concrete road is the small village of Cala d'Oliva: a prison converted into an Environmental Education Center. The excursion finally includes the arrival at Cala Sabina beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, where you can swim and snorkel. The return to the Fornelli dock is scheduled around 5.00 pm to embark at 5.00 pm - 5.15 pm. Expected arrival in Stintino at approximately 5:45 pm.

Our adventure with the Nuraghi Tour begins in Orosei.  We start on board our 4×4 vehicles and explore the beautiful central-eastern coast of Sardinia to discover its thousand-year-old history, but also to focus on its food and wine culture.

We cross the Orosei countryside to reach the unspoilt wetlands of the “Su Barone, characterised by a lush pine forest that frames the extensive sandy shore, interrupted only to the south by the limestone cliffs of the Gulf of Orosei and marked by the wonderful emerald colour of the sea.

The wetlands are extremely rich in biodiversity and are therefore protected by numerous international conventions. Here you can observe the rich marshland avifauna consisting of white and grey herons, little egrets, skilful cormorants, moorhens and numerous migratory species such as pink flamingos or the noisy black-winged stilts. The enchanting atmosphere of this corner of paradise takes on a very romantic, almost nostalgic air when we come across traditional fishponds or groups of local fishermen harvesting clams.

After a short break to observe and learn more about the area, we set off towards the “Nuraghe Gulunie di Osalla”, one of the best preserved in the Orosei area and the only one with similar views of the sea in the Gulf of Orosei. From its strategic position there is a breathtaking view, encompassing the coast to the north as far as the mouth of the Cedrino river and to the south as far as the little jewel of Osala di Dorgali beach.

Enchanted by such beauty, we reach a farm in the Orosei countryside. Its winery is a precious guardian of local wine traditions, whose owner will have the pleasure of accompanying us on a walk through the rows of vines.

Among the rows of vines, we will have the opportunity to experience first-hand his passion for the cultivation of the Cannonau grape, creator of the homonymous and famous oenological excellence of Sardinia.

The tasting of a good glass of red, white or rosé wine is a must, accompanied by their home-made products such as bread, oil and honey. The many anecdotes linked to the rural tradition and a lot of fun will conclude this beautiful day we spent together. To round off the day even better, you can also buy various local delicacies such as wine, oil and honey produced on the farm.

My husband and I had a wonderful time touring the west coast of Sardegna. The scenery was absolutely magical. The level of riding was on the high end of medium difficulty. We could not have completed the 320 kms in 6 days without the e-bikes. The gps app was fantastic. We were leary about going self-guided prior to the tour, but the gps app made it very easy to navigate. The accommodations were a bit volatile, some nice, some not so nice. First, one of the agritourismos charged us 40 euro per person for a very mediocre meal. Unfortunately, we had to eat there as there were no other options. Additionally, they had a mean little dog that unprovoked, nipped my husband (Sa Perda Mercada). Secondly, in Gonessa at B&B Domus de Janas, there was hardly a breakfast and it wasn't easy getting access to the accommodation, i.e no service. Of the other accommodations, Villa Canu and Hotel Le Torri were nice because they had pools, Muma Hostel was acceptable, agritourismo Terranieddas was in a beautiful setting and they served a wonderful meal for 30 euro which they let us split, i.e. 15 euro per person, the Marin hotel was just ok, but they had extremely friendly and helpful employees and the best breakfast of the trip. Additionally, I didn't find the man that ran the orientation (and also led the guided tour) very friendly or helpful to those not on the guided tour. Finally, it would improve the tour for the non-guided participants if the gps routes had more information regarding stops for drinks and food along the way. In summary, we thoroughly enjoyed the trip, met some nice people along the way and we would definitely, highly recommend this trip to others. We only offer criticisms to help better the Dolcevita experience for future participants.

Best experience in our lives! We had a very great time in this tour. In the beginnig i was a littlebit afraid but the driver is gorgeous! They drive you to the Lekuresi castle with a breathtaking panoramas, after that they drive you to the Borsh beach which is beautiful and one of the best part is the tour is the private place where you can swim for one hour. The sea is very beatiful and there are big waves which is very funny. After that they drive you to the Porto Palermo castle. After that there is a lunch with a wide selections like salads, seafoods, feta, wine, coffe, raki etc. with a wonderful look over the sea. Read more

Fun tour with family and kids Would recommend taking this tour to everyone. The staff was friendly and professional. They took us to several beautiful places around Saranda including a fortress with spectacular views of the bay, a beach and a spectacular lagoon and river, the Blue Eye.We were a group of 18 people including 8 kids and we were starving at the middle of the tour. Besides that everything was perfect and memorable.

What a great day… We read the reviews on TA and couldn’t quite believe that it could be so fantastic. But it was actually better. We were 6 people – 4 adults and two teenagers (age 16) and we had the best day. The guide was friendly and had really good knowledge of the history of Albania. We learned a lot today! The lunch was fantastic. We also had a great driver. Altought he didn’t speak english, so could we communicate in a good way!!

We really recomend this trip!! Thank you for a really great day. The highlight of this vacation!

We begin our Moscow tour beneath the city, exploring the underground palace of the Moscow Metro. From the Square of Revolution station, famous for its huge statues of soviet people (an armed soldier, a farmer with a rooster, a warrior, and more), we’ll move onto some of the most significant stations, where impressive mosaics, columns, and chandeliers will boggle your eyes! Moreover, these stations reveal a big part of soviet reality — the walls depict plenty of Propaganda , with party leaders looking down from images on the walls. Your local guide will share personal stories of his/her family from USSR times, giving you insight into Russia’s complicated past and present. Then we’re coming back up to street level, where we’ll take a break and refuel with some Russian fast food: traditional pancakes, called bliny. And then, stomachs satiated, we are ready to move forward! We’ll take the eco-friendly electric trolleybus, with a route along the Moscow Garden Ring. Used mainly by Russian babushkas(grannies) during the day, the trolleybus hits peak hours in the mornings and evenings, when many locals use it going to and from their days. Our first stop will be the Aviator’s House, one of Stalin’s Seven Sisters, followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — and you’ll hear the legends of what has gone on inside the walls. Throughout your Moscow tour, you’ll learn curious facts from soviet history while seeing how Russia exists now, 25 years after the USSR.

This tour exceeded our expectations. Nikolai (Nick), our tour guide, was very knowledgeable, thorough, and has a great personality. He didn't take shortcuts and really covered everything that was on the agenda in great detail. We saw beautiful metro stations and learned the history behind them, including many of the murals and designs.
