With a legacy spanning over 75 years, Delsey is renowned for designing quality luggage based on the needs and desires of the discerning traveler. This commitment to excellence comes as no surprise from the company that pioneered the first ultrastrong, rigid-shell suitcase. From then on, Delsey has continued to innovate while unwaveringly upholding its high-quality standards.

Delsey offers diverse luggage and accessories that seamlessly blend practical functionality with the quintessential Parisian flair the brand is known and loved for. Perhaps the most iconic range is the Chatelet collection, but there are plenty of options for more understated luggage, such as the range we’re reviewing today — the Delsey Sky Max 2.0.

Delsey’s Sky Max 2.0 luggage has been designed for travelers looking to maximize their packing capability . This lightweight luggage range allows passengers to utilize their airline’s weight allowance for their belongings, not the casing they’re transported in.

Despite its feather-light structure, the Delsey Sky Max 2.0 packs a punch when it comes to durability with a tear-resistant exterior . Despite being priced at the lower end for Delsey, we’re confident this luggage range would withstand frequent travel pretty well.

Delsey Sky Max 2.0 Softside Luggage Review

We reviewed the carry-on version of the Delsey Sky Max 2.0 collection, and this case mostly lived up to our expectations. There’s no doubt that it’s a solid case, but the more minor details and accents were what let down this luggage. Check out our video review above to see for yourself.

Delsey Sky Max 2.0 Softside

Just by looking at this case, you can tell that it is well-crafted. The material is thick and luxurious, and the corner guards are an added bonus for protection. Although it has the look of a traditional softside suitcase, the indented material framing the exterior pockets and the iconic Delsey logo add a touch of class.

Delsey Sky Max close up

This collection is available in 3 beautiful colors and is finished with an elegant twill pattern that is dense and durable.

Despite its slimline appearance, the carry-on has an impressive 36-liter capacity for holding a long weekend’s worth of belongings. Measuring 21.7 x 15.7 x 7.9 inches , this case meets the carry-on size requirements for most U.S. domestic and international airlines.

Weighing just 5.5 pounds , the Delsey Sky Max 2.0 carry-on is incredibly lightweight.

Delsey Sky Max weight

There are 3 exterior pockets that provide easy access to your belongings. This includes 2 front pockets for your travel documents, toiletries, or tech . The bottom pocket is larger than the top and could hold a small laptop or tablet. Just be aware that these pockets don’t contain padding to protect your travel tech fully. There’s also a small discreet pocket for your passport, wallet, or purse on the side of the case.

Delsey Sky Max side pocket

This case can be rolled next to you using all 4 sets of wheels or be pulled behind you like a rollaboard on just 2. When pulling the case, the guard on the bottom will protect the base of the bag from scuffing on the floor.

Delsey Sky Max close up bottom guard

This case has a spacious main compartment with a top-opening lid that’s easy to access in smaller spaces. Although the interior lining looks the part, the material feels a little cheap. The compression straps can be clipped together to hold your clothes in place.

Delsey Sky Max interior compartment

There are 2 handy pockets in the lid of the case : 1 large pocket that’s great for keeping dress clothes neat and tidy and 1 smaller mesh pocket for toiletries, belts, makeup, etc.

Delsey Sky Max lid pocket

There’s also a zippered pocket in the main compartment for smaller items and a tiny pocket to safely store jewelry, chargers, or other small items.

Delsey Sky Max interior pocket

This softside carry-on is made from polyester and finished with an elegant twill pattern. We were impressed with the material’s durability, and even after using this case several times, it still looks as good as new.

Delsey Sky Max material

Although the polyester material is water-resistant , plan to use a waterproof suitcase cover should it be exposed to heavy rain for long durations.

The 360-degree spinner wheels aren’t recessed, so this does mean that they are more exposed and susceptible to damage.  We loved how smoothly and quietly the case rolls on all surfaces ; however, the slimline profile and wide wheels meant it didn’t maneuver amazingly well.

Delsey Sky Max wheels

The case has 3 exterior handles for easy carrying that are on the top, side, and bottom. This is particularly useful when lifting the case in and out of the overhead compartment on a plane or grabbing it quickly from the carousel. The top and side handles feel incredibly sturdy but are not the most comfortable handles we’ve come across.

Delsey Sky Max carry handles

The telescoping handle is adjustable to 3 heights using the button on the handle, so there should be a setting to roughly suit your height. It’s definitely not the smoothest or sturdiest telescopic handle out there, which is a bit disappointing for Delsey.

Delsey Sky Max telescopic handle

When not in use, the telescopic handle is stored on the case’s interior, and you can feel the bars beneath the interior lining of the main compartment.

An integrated TSA combination lock on the exterior of the side of the case locks the main compartment. I found the zipper pulls to be at an awkward angle to clip into the lock.

Alternatively, the zipper pulls interlace to use your own luggage lock.

Delsey Sky Max interlacing zipper pulls

The SECURITECH patented zips are 3 times stronger than traditional zips and can help prevent thieves from breaking into your luggage through the zips. The zippers are a little rigid and not particularly smooth-running, but you can tell they are pretty robust.

Customers receive a 3-year limited warranty when purchasing any version within the Delsey Sky Max 2.0 range. This provides peace of mind should you experience any manufacturing defects, and you can have your case replaced or repaired at a Delsey Service & Repair location .

If you’re looking for matching luggage, the Delsey Sky Max 2.0 collection also includes medium and large checked suitcases, which you can purchase individually or as a set.

Considering this luggage collection is at the lower end of the price range for Delsey, the Sky Max 2.0 carry-on is a well-constructed case that is sure to withstand the rigors of air travel. This luggage has been designed with functionality and practicality in mind, and sometimes, that’s all you need to transport your belongings safely from A to B.

The handles leave a lot to be desired, and the wheels struggle when taking corners sharply, but can that be forgiven in exchange for a solid exterior that is extremely lightweight? We think so, especially for the very reasonable price.

Travelers Club Sky+ Hardside Expandable Luggage Set Review

Thank you for dropping by to check out our Travelers Club Sky+ Hardside Expandable Luggage Set Review! In this article, we’ve tested this luggage set and offered some important guideline for you.

I use Amazon as my main platform to search on when looking for luggage bags to review. It’s the most popular shopping portal in the US by far so availing the items I reviewed in here will never an issue for my buyers.

In today’s review, we’re going to take a look into one luggage set that’s been rising in popularity the past few months – Travelers Club Sky+ Hardside Expandable Luggage Set with Spinner Wheels. What attracted me to this bag is the fact that it’s not overtly cheap yet it keeps on selling out. I want to know what’s causing this. Is the set really that good, or is there something more?

That’s what I am to find out. Now, if you are curious, too, then you should definitely read on further. You’ll never know, maybe this review will entice you to get the bag, or maybe even the opposite. Whatever the turn out will be, this article should help you pick out your next luggage bag.

In the next section, I am going to talk about its pros and cons. Let’s start.

sky travel bag reviews

Pros & Cons of Travelers Club Sky+ Hardside Expandable Luggage Set

Every time you are research an item online, you need to read several pros and cons before you finalize the sale. All bags have their pros and cons.

A con does not necessarily mean that the product is bad. Even the very best ones have cons. The key is to understand how much value you will put in the pros and cons.

3 Bags in One Purchase

This is a 3-piece set which means that you are, in essence, getting more than your money’s worth. If you buy the items included in the set separately, it will cost you more. The fact that there is a set that includes 3 different travel bags is a good deal, in my opinion.

If you want a different deal, you can opt for a 4-piece or 5-piece set with the same items. Needless to say, whatever your needs are, you can surely find them here.

Multi-Directional Wheels

The 20” carry-on luggage in this set has a spinner wheel setup. In my opinion, this is the more superior wheel setup because it makes moving it a lot easier. You won’t need to drag the bag when moving it. You can move it upright using this setup.

If you’ve been reading my reviews here, you must already know how much I love spinner wheels. That being a feature in this bag will never fail to get a mention.

15” Tote Bag Strappable To Luggage Trolleys

You can secure the 15” tote bag on top of any of your luggage bag. It has a strap that you can use to slide in the handle. It’s a thoughtful feature that many will appreciate. Even if you are not planning on using this feature, it’s a good additional feature to have. It’s not even obstructive so you sometimes won’t even notice that it’s there unless you’re actively looking for it.

Expansion allowance

With this 20” luggage bag being a hardside, I did not expect an expandable feature in here. That feature is mostly reserved for softside where fabrics can stretch easily.

This is a small bag which means every extra space would be a premium. In case you want to pack some extra items, just pop the extension of this luggage bag and your items will fit right in.

Quality Materials

They used an ABS hardsheel for this bag. While it’s not as light as some other materials that are popular in this segment, it is way stronger than most. You’d have to sacrifice some mobility though because the material they chose is heavier than usual.

No Built-in TSA Locking Mechanism

This set, while not expensive, isn’t considered cheap either. I would put this onto the mid to high range in terms of pricing. That being said, I expected some additional features like an integrated lock but unfortunately, it is missing.

Too Heavy For Its Size

The 20” luggage bag alone clocks in at a surprising 8 lbs. It’s way too heavy for its size. It would’ve been nice if this came in at a more reasonable 5 lbs. I’ve seen some bags in this segment come at 4 lbs so I was a bit surprised when I saw the net weight.

This has something to do with the material used for the hardshell. It is a lot sturdier than what I’m used to.

Quality Rating of Travelers Club Sky+ Hardside Expandable Luggage Set

One downside to owning a hardside bag is they are considerably heavier than softsides. That’s because hardshells are naturally heavier than fabrics. But during the last few decades, more and more manufacturers are coming out with light weight hardside bags that promises to deliver the same durability while being half as heavy.

That does not seem to be the case for this bag. This Travelers Club luggage bag reminds of older bags, heavy, tough, and durable. They do not claim to be scratch-resistant but they may very well do so because of how hard the outer shell is. It is heavier than what you would expect from this size, though. It weighs 8 lbs.

For many, this toughness equals quality. In simple terms, yes. This bag really is tough. If you don’t mind it being heavier than usual, then this bag is definitely a good buy. This is how luggage bags were made back in the day. Remember the 20-year old luggage your dad used to have? This bag reminds me of it, for better or for worse. 4 stars.

Size Rating

The carry-on luggage bag meets most carry-on size restrictions. I say “most” because there are some airlines, though very rare, that have smaller limitations than 21”.

One thing I don’t like about this bag is how heavy it is. The 20” carry-on comes in at a whopping 8 lbs. I have 35” bags that weigh less than this. Yes, I understand that this is a hardside carry-on but it is still too heavy, in my opinion.

As for the two bags that accompany this carry-on, I really can’t say much. They’re nice addition to this bag. I doubt that those are the main reason for your interest in this set though.

The 3 bags in this set are true to size. 4 stars.

Feature Rating

I actually expected to see some cool and innovative features from their bags because of the higher-than-average pricing but was surprised not to see any. Most of the features from this bag are standard – something you’d expect from bags that belong in the lower segment.

But I am not saying that these features are bad. I think a more fitting description is uninspired and boring. This is perfectly fine if you just want a bag that works. For me, personally, I want a bag with features that I find useful like built-in TSA locks and extra pockets. This bag has neither of these, unfortunately.

What I found good on this bag is their material choice. Nailing the durability of the hardshell is hard (no pun intended). If you make it too hard, you risk it being too heavy or brittle. If you make it too soft, then why even use a hardside, then? This Travelers Club luggage bag definitely feels premium in hand. They may have made the hardshell too hard, in my opinion. The should explain the 8 lbs net weight of the bag.

For 20” carry-on bags, limiting net weight is important because you want to be able to bring as many items as you possible could inside the plane. If the bag is heavy, then that’s considered a lost in the storage space, too. For this reason, I am inclined to give this bag an average 3-star rating.

Brand Rating

The name of the manufacturer is Travelers Club. It’s a relatively new company compared to other more popular brands like Samsonite and American Tourister. It was founded in 1986 in Southern California.

If you go to their page on Amazon, you will see that they have all kinds of travel bags. No wonder their page is filled with these ‘discount’ sets. If you need something for your family, their page is surely a good place to start your search.

Based on my tour of their page, I was able to verify that most of their items have 4.5 – 4.7 rating. This means that all of their items have good standing within the Amazon community. I consider 4.5 a good rating. 4.7 stars crosses the ‘great product’ territory for me. Seeing that they have plenty of products that is within this goldilocks spot impresses me greatly.

This particular luggage set has not garnered that many reviews unlike some of their products. But from my preliminary checkup, it looks to be on its way to be one of their bestsellers. At the time of this writing, this particular item has ~1,100 reviews with a 4.6-star rating.

Overall, I would rate this brand a cool 4 stars. But let me be clear, this isn’t a rating for this particular item. This is just a grade I give to the brand/manufacturer.

Final Verdict Travelers Club Sky+ Hardside Expandable Luggage Set

If I had to guess, the main selling point of this 3-piece luggage set is the apparent discount that you will get from getting 3 items instead of buying separately. At the time of this writing, this bag is priced at $130.86.

Take note that you are getting 3 items for this price so if you divide the price by 3, that comes at about ~$65. That’s not a good representative of the pricing, though. A more accurate allotment would probably put the bag at ~$90 and $40 for the two bags.

To be honest, I wouldn’t really consider this bag a discount. I’ve seen luggage bags cheaper than this. In fact, I’ve seen 3-piece set offered for $50 less, but I digress. Perhaps there’s something more to this bag that others do not have.

Upon my inspection, one thing that jumps out is the quality of the bag, especially the hard side material. I wouldn’t label the material as scratch-resistant but it’s definitely sturdier than your usual hardcases out there. Maybe that’s the main reason why this bag is more expensive than its direct competitors.

Another thing that I like is the expandable feature. Rarely would you see this feature in a hardcase bag. Most expandable bags are softsides, which is kind of self-explanatory. It’s nice to see this feature in this bag.

Overall, I really liked what I see from this bag. It would’ve been nice if they lower the price a little bit but I really can’t complain. You will definitely get your money’s worth if you buy this set. They offer 4 and 5-piece sets, too, in case you need more bags for your family.

Skyborne Smart Pack Plus review outside walking

Who should get this backpack?

This backpack is for anyone looking for a smart, well-rounded backpack with anti-theft features that they can take travelling. It has a minimalist and effective design; sleek and stylish without being overly flashy.

It’s great for anyone who can appreciate and make use of all the bag’s features, especially considering the price. The Smart Pack Plus also uses strong, waterproof materials.

This is overall the perfect bag for city life, business trips, and work commuting.

Who should not get this backpack?

This Skyborne backpack is probably not the best for those with an active lifestyle. It doesn’t have specific features to enhance your adventures and hiking trips.

So, if you need an adaptable backpack to accompany you through cities and mountains alike, you might want to consider other options as this one isn’t going to move well through hot days.

Skyborne Smart Pack Plus Backpack Review

At $387 or roughly £314, the Skyborne Smart Pack Plus is not the most affordable backpack on the market.

It’s a modular, all-in-one backpack with a 30L capacity, is carry-on approved, and with a combat-style aesthetic.

Skyborne smart pack plus handle

How well-made is the Smart Pack Plus Backpack?

Skyborne Smart Pack Plus outside reviewing

This backpack is the type that holds its shape no matter if it’s packed or unpacked so that there’s no real bulk even if you’ve packed it to the brim.

It’s great for packing purposes and maintaining the shape of the bag, but could be a minor drawback if you prefer your backpacks with a slim and compact silhouette.

The bag itself is pretty lightweight, though there’s no real flexibility to the structure.

Skyborne smart pack plus dopp kitt on the bag

This just means double-checking with your airline if you want to take it as a personal item for the seat in front of you—you won’t be able to shove the bag and make those extra inches. But it will fit fine as a carry-on, in over overhead locker.

In terms of style, the Smart Pack Plus reminds me of Herschel backpacks because of all the external clips. It’s just a bit more structured, which means it does make the content feel more protected from the outside world.

The look definitely boils down to personal preference. It’s super sleek and combat-style, but not everyone will enjoy this boxy look and some might find it outdated.

However, I find that the backpack grasps a lot of the older tech features while giving them a modern twist, which is fab.

As far as I can tell, the hardware is premium, especially how taper-tight the sealed aqua YKK zips are and how smooth they run.

How comfortable is the Smart Pack Plus Backpack?

Back of the Skybourne smart plus backpack outside

I wouldn’t say the padded mesh is overly premium for the price. I think you would expect some sort of memory foam, though this doesn’t take away from the comfort of the bag.

The padding runs into the straps and I can say it feels pretty comfortable overall.

Skyborne smart pack plus Straps

More on the straps: they’re thin and slightly curve to the chest area for even more comfort and adaptability. You can adjust them easily.

The airflow on the back of this bag runs horizontally, which works decently but I prefer it to run down the center for a more even and comfortable breathability.

I feel like this would also allow them to place the padded mesh in more beneficial positions to help with supporting your back.

For example, the gap on this backpack from the luggage slit exposes the middle of my spine. It would’ve been nice to have support on either side of my spine (I have seen brands do this and still have the luggage slit horizontally).

There’s also a sternum strap that can help distribute the load. It moves up and down smoothly, but it does feel tight on the chest area as there’s not enough material here—I wonder if they designed this with women and those with a chest in mind.

It’s a shame because it has a great dangle-stopper!

All in all, though, I have no major complaints about the comfort of this Skyborne backpack.

What makes the Smart Pack Plus a great backpack?

1. Detachable DOPP kit

skyborne smart plus pack dopp kit

The detachable DOPP kit is the main highlight of this backpack.

It runs around 8.5” in length and 7” in height when closed, and 18” when opened, and attaches to the bag with two Fidlock magnetic buckles and an optional aluminum G hook.

It opens via two small secure buttons and unfolds nicely.

skyborne smart plus pack dopp kit closed

This is where you can store all your liquid for faster TSA access, and you can immediately take it to the shower with you when travelling.

There’s also a netted pocket for your non-liquid accessories and knickknacks. It’s a bit rough in texture but is very strong and doesn’t rip easily.

2. Spacious compartments

skyborne smart plus pack inside the clam shell opening

The main compartment is very spacious and opens at a 90-degree angle for convenient packing and unpacking , but you have the option to make it top-loading should you prefer it.

I love this suitcase-style strap that holds and compresses everything in nicely, which isn’t something you get in a lot of backpacks!

There’s a shoe compartment in the bottom , which is great for keeping the rest of your things clean. However, the interior space is compromised when you do have a pair of shoes here.

This is where you’ll find a separate pocket to store your power bank and connect it to the charging port.

skyborne smart plus pack inside the shoe compartment

Not only is everything functional and well-thought-out, but the blue mesh pocket on the flap side of the bag also adds a nice pop of colour.

Also, when you need to find something from the top, it’s hard to see inside due to all the black, so the splash of blue does help with visibility.

3. Organisation features

skyborne smart plus pack key lash

Diving into the organisational features of this Skyborne bag, there is plenty to explore here.

skyborne smart plus pack buckles

There’s a side pocket hidden by the exterior material where you can tuck the zips into, and it contains a retractable key lash. The hardware is solid and premium, which works out well given the price.

The pocket itself runs 8” in length and height, and is perfect for storing small items you may need quick access to.

The water bottle compartment hides a smaller pocket that can fit my iPhone 13. You can’t really use this when you have a bottle in, but still a nice detail!

skyborne smart plus pack water bottle testing

I could fit my 500ml bottle comfortably, while the elastics hold it down in place. I also love the fact that you flatten the material into the side of the bag when not in use.

Not to mention a secret pocket where you can keep your cash or passport that’s hidden underneath the luggage slit at the back of this bag.

skyborne smart plus pack secret passport pocket

4. Unique Axis straps

skyborne smart plus pack Back straps

The Axis straps because of the ergonomic comfort and adjustable height.

More than that, there’s a hidden zipper slot where you can store your transit cards, Airpods, or other smaller items.

skyborne smart plus pack sternum straps outside tested

There are some excess straps here too where you can attach things like bike locks, lights, or even keys.

The overall look of the shoulder straps is sleek and simple, with a subtle branding that I think looks quite high-end.

5. Laptop compartment with combination lock

skyborne smart plus pack laptop compartmnet fleece material

The laptop compartment is amazing as it can fit up to a 22-inch laptop.

skyborne smart plus pack laptop compartment

Plus, it’s protected with a combination lock , which isn’t something you see much in a backpack.

skyborne smart plus pack combination lock

This is perfect for ensuring that your tech is doubly secured!

skyborne smart plus pack combination TSA lock

It’s super well-padded, while the material itself is soft and smooth so that it doesn’t scratch your electronics.

In front of the laptop sleeve are some more pockets to keep your accessories and gadgets organized. These work great for notebooks, hard drives, and chargers.

6. Waterproof charging port

Finally, the Smart Pack Plus comes with a waterproof charging port, which I love!

You’ll find this right below the TSA lock on the outside of the bag (which, speaking of, is a fantastic anti-theft feature).

The USB port has a flap that looks stylish, especially compared to bulky ports you find on the Siena or Matein bags.

(Admittedly, after a few minutes the flap ended up snapping, so this bit could’ve been made stronger.)

Con of the skyborne smart plus pack

While I personally don’t use this feature much as I just generally don’t charge my power bank often, this could be super useful if you’re always on the go! For instance, in airports, and during long-haul flights.

Is the Skyborne Smart Pack Plus Backpack Waterproof?

Yes, the Skyborne Smart Pack Plus Backpack is waterproof.

It uses Ballistic Nylon, Leather, Polyester, and Aluminium rubber as the main materials. This will help keep your tech and other belongings inside dry even when moving through rain and rough weather conditions.

Cons of the Skyborne Smart Pack Plus Backpack

skyborne smart plus pack testing the backpack outside

While the overall hardware on the Skyborne Smart Pack Plus is well-made and nice, some of them could have been stronger.

One example is the flap on the USB port.

Skyborne extra material

Moreover, it would have been nice for the shoe compartment to not take up too much space on the inside, though I imagine this would make the bag even bulkier.

On that note, while this backpack has a large capacity and packs well, the fact that the box shape is fixed and inflexible makes it less suitable for those with a smaller frame.

It might be a bit bulky for some people and you can easily look “swallowed” by the bag.

Another drawback is that this bag doesn’t feel maximized in terms of comfort and design for use in warmer weather.

This is mainly due to the leather and nylon material which can tend to stick on your skin at higher temperatures.

Skyborne Smart Pack Plus Backpack: Performance over time

skyborne smart plus pack outside on branch

How did I find the Smart Pack Plus Backpack upon first use and over time? I’ve listed my thoughts and impressions below…

  • The clips and style remind me of the old-school Herschel backpacks
  • Comfortable to wear with great anti-theft features
  • A premium feel and look, with exceptional zips

After 3 weeks:

  • Waterproof, great for rainy days and unexpected weather, but not so great on a hot day as the leather makes you sweaty. It’s NOT BAD compared to some other brands but just something to note
  • The sternum strap is not thought out enough in terms of fitting to and supporting different body types
  • Overall really comfortable
  • A lot of great features and details. I love the modular style and it’s great for maneuvering through the airport

Overall verdict: Are Skyborne Bags worth buying?

If you’re here, you’re probably wondering if I think the bag is worth it.

This review boils down to one question:

Should you buy the Skyborne Smart Pack Plus Backpack?

My answer is yes. I can definitely recommend this backpack.

The Smart Pack Plus itself is a fantastic city backpack with excellent anti-theft features, including a TSA lock.

It’s a great carry-on to bring on business trips and for everyday work commute.

If you can make use of these features and advantages, this Skyborne bag is great for you.

Otherwise, I have a few alternatives at the bottom of this post.

What else does Skyborne sell?

The Slinger fits inside the Smart-Pack which is great for a local carry once you land at your destination. It’s a simple yet functional sling bag with an anti-theft pocket, key clip, water-repellent material, and other great features.

skyborne Slinger

iTravel MINI

sky travel bag reviews

The iTravel MINI is a pocket-sized “bag” specifically designed for your passport and a pen. It’s got the perfect pull-and-go tab to reach your passport in seconds without having to dig into your bag when travelling.

It fits into the backside of the Slinger, so you can keep your valuables even safer from theft and closer to you!

Trek Pack Mini Travel Sling

The Trek Pack travel sling boasts 4L of capacity and plenty of organisation in a compact design. With USB-C compatibility, a YKK quick zipper pocket, and three carrying modes, it’s an adaptable sling bag perfect for travel and everyday errands!

Skyborne Smart Pack Plus Alternatives

Are you worried the Skyborne Smart Pack Plus might not be for you? Check out these other alternatives; maybe one of them will suit you better.

Matein Travel Laptop Backpack

This is an affordable and durable option if you also want that smart style and design. It comes with anti-theft features, a USB port, and excellent back support, but is slightly bulkier and not as stylish.

Here’s my full review !

Nomatic 15L Lite Pack

The Nomatic 15L Lite Pack is a higher-end product and doesn’t have smart features, but it is practical, well-structured, simple, and sleek. I’d recommend this one for business purposes and short travels.

Knack Bags Series 2

The Knack Bags Series 2 is the perfect backpack if you want something geared specifically for travel and adventure! It’s expandable up to 39L and has tons of organisation, while still being suitable for work life.

That’s all for my review of the Skyborne Smart Pack Plus.

Have you ever used this bag, or maybe their other products?

There are lots of different types of ski bags out there, but a word of caution: Choose yours wisely. Not all ski bags are created equal, something we’ve learned over the course of many seasons and ski trips.

Here, we list the bags that haven’t let us or our ski gear down. The bags that have wheels roll like they’re supposed to, and the bags that claim to hold two pairs of skis, can, in fact, fit two pairs of skis.

But rest assured that these bags are all made from materials durable enough to withstand even the roughest baggage handler, and each features padding galore to keep your babies snug and secure.

Evoc Snow Gear Roller

Evoc Snow Gear Roller

This is the motherlode of ski bags, designed for your most epic destination ski trips. Featuring skate wheels and a durable grab handle at the top of the bag, the Snow Gear Roller is a breeze to maneuver between airport concourses and around baggage drop-off queues even when it’s packed to the gills.

It comes in three different lengths to accommodate your length of skis (M fits skis up to 160cm; L fits skis up to 175cm; XL fits skis up to 195cm), but each is wide enough to fit two pairs of fat skis, all of your outerwear, and extra layers. Plus, a dedicated avalanche safety equipment pocket on the exterior keeps your avy shovel blade and probe safely tucked away from your ski edges and down layers. The whole bag is tarp-lined and features an extra layer of padding that folds down on top of your skis. Lastly, adjustable interior straps keep your skis safely tucked in throughout the journey. A great buy for those who travel the world checking off their bucket list ski destinations. [$260, evocusa.com ]

SporTube Traveler Single Ski Bag

SporTube Traveler Single Ski Bag

On the other end of the spectrum, the SporTube Single Ski Bag is a great choice for those who just need to get from A to B. It doesn’t have wheels, but because it’s more compact and only designed for one set of skis and poles, it’s not a huge load to shoulder. And though it dispenses with the bells and whistles, it doesn’t skimp on protection. The bag is made with heavy duty polyester and PVC laminate. The Traveler fits skis up to 190cm and holds around 88 liters, so there’s room for outerwear and layers on top of skis and poles. The best part about this bag: Last we checked, it meets the ever-more-restrictive checked baggage dimensions of most airlines. [$140, sportube.com ]

DB Snow Roller

"Douchebag Ski Bag with wheels"

If there’s one thing we’ve learned over the years traveling with ski bags in tow, it’s that you need one that will not only protect your precious skis from the baggage handlers, but also one that will make your life easier on the go. The DB Snow Roller delivers. This snow roller can comfortably fit two pairs of even the longest skis, and will protect your goods with a durable polyester outer shell, polyester lining, ABS protection ribs that reduce weight yet keep your skis from being crushed. Favorite features: length adjustability and hook-up system. If you have shorter skis, you can adjust the length of the bag by rolling and cinching the top down to snuggly fit against the tips of your skis—no more floppy top. And DB’s hook-up system allows you to attach other DB bags (like the Hugger 30L) for piggy-back rolling. [$349; us.dbjourney.com ]

Dakine Fall Line Ski Roller Hardside Bag

Dakine Hard Side Ski Roller

Skis? Check. Poles? Check. Ski Boots? Check. The hardsided Fall Line Ski Roller fits all your ski gear if you only need to schlep one pair of skis. Take the ski boots out and carry them separately in the removable boot bag, and you can comfortably fit two pairs of skis plus your outerwear and clothes for the weekend or week. Cram anything else that’s small and you need on-the-go access to in the convenient outer stash pocket.

With a bomber outer shell made from recycled and scratch-resistant ABS + PC, efficient wheels that make the Fall Line easy to tow around whether you’re navigating snowy streets or bustling airport terminals, and a TSA-approved combination lock for peace of mind, this bag is the Cadillac of ski travel vessels. It can also be fastened to your car’s rooftop crossbars via a tie-down system, eliminating the need for a rooftop carrier. Brilliant. [$380, dakine.com ]

Thule RoundTrip Ski Roller

Thule RoundTrip Ski Roller

This is the Rolls-Royce of ski bags, which is no surprise since it’s made by Thule. This brand just knows how to transport ski gear safely and designs racks and bags that feature everything a skier could want or need. The RoundTrip Ski Roller is a double ski bag that comes in a 175cm and 192cm length and features more padding than your car has airbags.

Two cinch-top ski sleeves and a removable padded divider keep skis from rubbing against each other; internal and external compression straps allow you to cinch your sticks down even more securely; a dedicated ski pole pocket keeps those poles in line; and the large volume and internal mesh pocket let you stuff all your extras in there, too, to add an additional layer of protection. And while bigger ski bags can get a little floppy and awkwardly shaped once filled with gear, structural reinforcements keep the RoundTrip Ski Roller more rigid and easier to handle. Arlo Skye Review [2024]: Practical Luggage or a Gimmick?

Are you looking for top-grade luggage to invest in? If you've decided to replace your old travel gear with chic, brand-new bags, you've come to the right place. In this quick guide, I've summarized everything you need to know about the luggage and travel bags brand Arlo Skye.

sky travel bag reviews

A dependable suitcase and a handy carry-on are a must for traveling. But with so many brands and styles on the market, narrowing down the best pick for you can be challenging!

Let me introduce you to Arlo Skye. If your work involves a lot of traveling and you want to impress, or you're gripped by wanderlust and want to travel in style, this post is for you.

In this review, I'm going to review Arlo Skye. I'll look at what the brand is becoming known for, its services, and what people say about it. Let's see if Arlo Skye is the luggage you'll use on your next adventure!

Arlo Skye Logo

What Is Arlo Skye?

Arlo Skye  is a travel gear brand that produces suitcases and other travel storage solutions like carry-on totes, backpacks, pet carriers, and toiletry bags. The brand prides itself on crafting dependable travel gear without compromising on style.

The brand's founders are alumni of the luxury brands Tumi and Louis Vuitton, so it's no surprise that Arlo Skye luggage does not disappoint regarding quality and design. In fact, the brand's entire persona revolves around style.

Arlo Skye could be for you if you are looking for sturdy luggage that showcases elegance and sophistication.

Currently, Arlo Skye sells its products online exclusively on the official website. You can also find Arlo Skye suitcases IRL at the  Edition Hotel, Miami , and the  Public Hotel, New York .

Arlo Skye is quickly making a name for itself for the outstanding design and remarkable quality of its products. Let's look at some of the most noteworthy features of the brand.

Vast Range of Luggage Options

Arlo Skye offers a vast range of  luggage options  for you to choose from. And with suitcases and bags in plenty of styles, colors, sizes, and materials, there's something to suit every traveler's needs.

Many Arlo Skye products come in sophisticated, monochromatic tones such as black, silver, white, and tan. But if you're looking for something more lively, the brand also has brightly colored editions in fun colors, including yellow, red, and light blue.

Impact-Proof Casing

The hard shell of Arlo Skye's suitcases is made of premium-grade materials, including polycarbonate and aluminum. In addition, the aluminum frame ensures that hard bags and cases remain intact regardless of what you stuff them with.

Arlo Skye suitcases are made to look aesthetically pleasing. But they're also tough and dependable for long-term rugged use.

Vegan Luggage Options

Finding great-quality vegan-friendly luggage can be challenging. But Arlo Skye has you covered. The brand offers a range of vegan-friendly luggage collections that are reliable and stylish.

However, it's important to note that all the brand suitcases include a full-grain animal leather tag. Still, the brand will remove it before shipping if requested by the customer.

Arlo Skye carry-on and soft bag options include pet carriers, a backpack, a cabin bag, and a toiletry bag.

The brand's  soft bags  are made with durable materials, including waterproof nylon, leather, and polyester. In addition, each bag is designed with handy pockets and compartments to keep your stuff safe and neatly stored.

Arlo Skye Pet Carrier

Essential Travel Accessories

Even the most unique luggage can be hard to spot at baggage claim, which is  why you need a luggage tag .

Arlo Skye is a one-stop shop for every travel enthusiast and nomad, offering a range of travel accessories. As well as suitcases and soft bags, Arlo Skye also sells luggage tags made with full-grain leather, a portable lap desk, and a premium-quality charger.

Arlo Skye Luggage Tag

What is the Company's Returns Policy?

Within the 48 contiguous states of the USA, mailing returns are free. Customers have up to 90 days from the date their order is fulfilled to decide whether to keep, exchange, or return their purchased item. You'll get a full refund if you choose to return the item.

Orders outside the US are considered final, as the brand does not currently accept exchanges or returns for shipments made outside the country.

What People Are Saying

Arlo Skye luggage is becoming a favorite among stylish travelers for several reasons.

Many people love that the suitcases are robust enough to withstand wear and tear over many journeys. The brand's styles and designs also come in for praise. Not at all surprising given the founders' experience and knowledge in the fashion industry!

Also, based on multiple Arlo Skye reviews online, the brand offers stellar customer service and speedy shipping.

But still, some people are put off by the prices of Arlo Skye products. The cost of Arlo Skye products can be a little eye-watering—from $95 for  The Toiletry Bag  up to $695 for  The Frame Carry-On Max Aluminum Edition .

Is Arlo Skye Worth it?

Given Arlo Skye's top-notch suitcases and travel bags, the brand is worth investing in if style is as important to you as durability. Arlo Skye suitcases and soft bags are made with premium-quality materials that are durable and stand the test of time. The founders' dedication to craftsmanship means Arlo Skye's luggage pieces get an A+ for style.

Although they're pretty pricy, Arlo Skye products are the real deal regarding build quality and design. This luggage will carry your stuff in style for many years to come. That said, if you're not looking to spend so much on your luggage, there are plenty of dependable and stylish options  at lower price points.

My Rating: 4.5/5

  • Stylish luggage
  • Various style options
  • Sturdy luggage construction
  • Vegan options
  • Expensive luggage brand
  • Limited returns policy
  • Vegan option includes leather tag

Luggage Review: Arlo Skye The Check-In

Kara Cutruzzula

Yawn or awe. Those are basically the only two reactions to a piece of luggage. Most basic bags in black or gray rarely make an impression and blur together on the carousel or walking to a gate. But then there are the rare pieces that make you stop and go "ooh." The question, however, is whether the bag's specs match its style.

Arlo Skye is a new direct-to-consumer luggage brand whose founders previously worked at Louis Vuitton and Tumi. They spent over a year refining and launching their first product, the aluminum Carry-On, that was a hit with the fashion and design world after its November 2016 launch. (It's one of those that makes you go "ooh.") Recently, they launched a big brother alternative, The Check-In , for longer stays or for people who need a bit more packing space.

Like the clothing and mattress industries, the luggage world was ripe for disruption and like its competitor Away , Arlo Skye cuts past typical wholesale channels to offer bags direct to consumers online. The result? A big, gleaming behemoth of a roller that wheels around so quietly it might sneak up on you — for under $500. We took it for a spin.

Arlo Skye bag

The Check-In is spacious yet manageable: 27" x 17.6" x 11.1" with a 66L capacity. The exterior is made of virgin makrolon (aka micro-textured) polycarbonate with two aluminum alloy corner caps and an aluminum alloy frame.

It weighs a light 10.5 pounds, roughly on par for a similar polycarbonate bag of this size. The bag retails for $395, has free shipping in the US and is sent out within 24 hours. (It's also sold in a set with The Carry-On for $895, a $50 savings on buying individually.) There are two TSA -approved locks and the wheels are 60mm and claim to be "15% quieter than their polyurethane counterparts."

There's not a zipper to be found the outside, but plenty in the interior, which has multiple pocket dividers and compression straps. It also comes with a leather name tag, two shoe bags, one laundry bag and a cotton "dust protection cover" in case you take a long break between trips.

Arlo Skye says their products are for "the design-obsessed," so it's no wonder the bag is quite good-looking. On picking me up from the airport, my friend immediately mentioned how sleek it looked. It's attractive enough to be wheeled into a five-star hotel, but you might feel a pang of guilt knowing that it'll be knocked around the luggage carousel. No outer pockets or zippers means nothing will snag or break — but also means you can't grab anything quickly after your flight.

Currently, The Check-In comes in three color options: Penguin Black, Sardine Silver and Champagne. The Check-In has the same grooved outer shell—which brings to mind Rimowa—as its kid sister, The Carry-On (the big different is the mini version is made of aluminum-magnesium alloy and has a built-in charger).

sky travel bag reviews

The Road Test

Arlo Skye recommends The Check-In for trips ranging 15 to 21 days; I took it on a New York-to-California trip that lasted 12 days, but was grateful for the extra room (it was about 65% full when I left) because I'd be hauling back Christmas presents.

The interior compartments and fabric divider with multiple pockets cut down my packing time significantly. Everything seemed to have a place and the combination locks shut with a satisfying click. The dual compartments on either side of the shell could be very convenient dividers for couples traveling together who only want to check one bag (no mingling of socks or underwear necessary).

One major realization: I never knew how obnoxiously noisy the wheels on my other bags were; you could hear me coming from two terminals away. But this was whisper-quiet and easy to navigate. The recessed handle wasn't wiggly or wobbly and I wasn't worried about the bag toppling over. The bag doesn't look or feel as big as other monster-sized check-ins — you know, the ones that look like they're hauling the entire cast's wardrobe for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

After checking the bag at JFK, we met again at Hollywood Burbank Airport (formerly known as the Bob Hope Airport, and by far the most chill place to fly in and out of LA). After one go-around on the carousel it had a few small black scuffs and some nicks on the corners. Of course, bags are going to get dings and scratches — a pristine bag reveals you rarely travel — but the light Champagne color made them a little more evident.

The second test came at California's Fresno Air Terminal, when I arrived five minutes too late to check my bag. (The 45-minute cut-off prior to departure is one important detail to remember if you're used to carry-ons.) But the kind American Airlines agent said he'd give me a "Hail Mary" pass; if I removed any oversized liquids, I could go through security and gate-check my bag instead of having to pay. This doesn't happen often/ever and I wondered if my good luck was due to my shiny new bag or because the airport was practically dead and there are still good people in the world. Either way, I was grateful.

Sure enough, by the end of my trip I had somehow acquired twice as much stuff — including a two-quart saucepan, two thick books, new shirts, sweaters and pants. Somehow, it all fit for my return trip. The hardshell case protected picture frames and other breakables and felt like a mini vault.

sky travel bag reviews

The Details

The Check-In is also available in a limited-edition sage version through a collaboration with Sight Unseen with a graphic pastel interior designed by illustrator Antti Kekki. If you care to know your bag's origins, it's assembled in China, with parts sourced from Europe, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and China. If the price isn't right, you might want to look elsewhere. Since it's a direct-to-consumer company, Arlo Skye doesn't have sales or promotions; this is more of a take-it-or-leave-it deal.

For those wondering, the company got its name from a vintage children's book titled Arlo and added "Skye" because the founders say they love getting lost in the clouds. Arlo Skye has a 21-day return policy: You can road test the bags and there's a free shipping return and a full refund.

The Takeaway

If you care about style, but don't want to spring for a more expensive Tumi or Rimowa, Arlo Skye is a durable and handsome alternative. If you're a minimalist packer, The Check-In may be too roomy, but if you're looking at a longer haul and could use organizational help, the numerous pouches and sections make it almost impossible to pack this bag poorly. Just remember to get to the airport with enough time to check your check-in.

I had booked air ticket via Skytravelhub.com on 6/2/2023 for the travel date of 12/21/2023. Close to the travel date the ticket was cancelled with no valid reason for the cancellation. Travel agency cited that they were not aware of the reason why the ticket was cancelled by the airline. Airlines directed my inquires to travel agency SkyTravelHub. SkyTravelHub had charged $906.38 as their service fee for booking. Skytravelhub is not responding to my refund request and it has been 6 months since the ticket was cancelled. My payment of $2799.98 is still not resolved and I had to raise this to Dept of Transportation for further assistance.

I booked a trip with them to Honolulu

I booked a trip with them to Honolulu, Hawaii for my family vacation back in December 2023. The tickets initially showed up on Delta and then I found 1 day before our trip our tickets had been canceled without notifying us. Delta charged my credit card over $3,400 and they charged us over $1,333 for their fee yet no one wanted to tell us that we didn't actually have airfare tickets?! I don't understand how this is allowed. I literally found this out 1 day before our trip! I called SKYTRAVELHUB and they told me that I had to call Delta. I call Delta and they tell me that I have to call SKYTRAVELHUB! Neither would help us in rebooking our tickets or refunding our money. Can you imagine how stressful that was I will never book through SKYTRAVELHUB again and I ended up booking tickets through Southwest Airlines I have to pay 2,500 more, this mess up. I will not recommend this agency SKYTRAVELHUB.

Amazing staff and responds very quick!

Alex Hales helped me find another flight when the flights I ordered where not available. He found a great deal for delta and help with everything including cancelling 1 of the tickets and picking out our seats. Patrick was the one who informed me about our initial flight tickets being unavailable and guided me towards the next course of action. Amazing experience I would recommend to anyone looking for good deals!

Milwaukee to Las Vegas Trip

I was having difficulty finding the proper fit for a short mid-week flight to Las Vegas and found Sky Travel Hub's website. I was able to book the trip during the time planned and at a reasonable airfare with Vince Carter's assistance. Vince took the time to find an alternative airline when the first one didn't work and followed through with reserving my seat assignments. Thank you Vince for all of your assistance.

Let the vacation begin!

I’ve just finished booking our family’s flights from the East coast to Hawaii. Alex Hale was the most patient and professional customer service agent. He not only found us seats that saved us a good amount of money, but arranged it so we’d all be sitting together. I was a little concerned because we’re traveling with three kids. No worries, we’re flying a well known carrier at a perfect time for us with no crazy layovers. Great vacation memories begin with pleasant travel plans. Thanks Alex!

I was skeptical at first.

I was skeptical at first, but after speaking with the supervisor, and working with ROY I was comfortable with the process. They made the confirmations, that I could see at delta airlines, then I gave them payment information and the tickets were purchased. This made our spring break possible for next March. Prices at delta were $1,300 each, but with sky travel hub, they were $755! That saved us more than $2,400 dollars! They communicated via email, text and voice calls when they said they would. I will be using them again.

I was a little skeptical booking with…

I was a little skeptical booking with Sky Travel Hub until my rep, Chris Jones helped me feel at ease and provided the best customer service! He helped me score a great deal for my family of 3, we're going to Aruba in August flying Delta and I couldnt be happier with the deal Chris got for us. I'll be booking with him in the future and I've already referred my parents to book with sky travel hub as well. Thanks for all your help Chris!

I'm so glad I used SkytrevelHub

I'm so glad I used SkytrevelHub! Best prices for airline tickets, but better was the customer service, Eddie went beyond to help me find the shortest and cheapest flight to the Caribbean! I'll be using this company from now on and I recommend you ask for Eddie! Thanks

Call just before flight with "problem" that requires a more expensive itinerary

Allow you to book on the website only to be called a couple days before the flight telling us that the itinerary/price is no longer available (why didn't they book at the time of order?). Of course the alternatives are only available at a significantly higher cost. Had to argue with several people requesting either they honor original price or cancel reservation. They said they couldn't honor original price (because they would lose money) nor could they cancel the itinerary (because they already paid for the ticket). Their excuses made no sense. When asked for information about their accreditation, they said they weren't able to give it out (most agencies have it listed on their website). Total scam. Stay far away from them!

Knowledgeable agent; great price

I appreciated the ability to talk to an agent to book my travel to Aruba. I gave Patrick my criteria, and he quickly found the best options with the shortest layover and lowest price. He called me back after he emailed the tickets to confirm that I received them. It was a pleasant experience, Patrick was very responsive and thorough and I saved a lot of money.

I am happy with the service received from sky travel hub. Thank to Nick for his help and support with my seven complicated ticket. He was very helpful in directing me through the process of buying in a professional, and friendly manner. Thank you skytravelhub, great company, amazing staff. I will definitely use you again for travel. I will also recommend you to families and friends.

Patrick was able to book 3 tickets to…

Patrick was able to book 3 tickets to St Thomas for my family on Delta airlines for less than half the cost of booking directly with the airline. I'll admit that I was very skeptical at first, especially after reading some negative reviews, but everything worked out very smoothly. Patrick did exactly what he promised to do. He sent me a confirmation email, detailing the flights and price quoted for them the same day that we spoke. I will definitely use Skytravelhub again! I will admit that I could not get the extremely low price that was shown online but the price that I did receive was far cheaper than airline pricing. I would suggest talking directly with Patrick to get the best fare possible.

Very terrible customer service

Very terrible customer service. Would not recommend counting on using these services for traveling. You make a reservation, and the payment wasn't going through due to a technical error. Called them back and got the same exact agent who said "I was going to send a cancelation notice earlier." And never did until I had called them why the payment hasn't gone through yet. so I said he should be responsible for the price increase by which he said "a lot more". How do I go from having a flight itinerary to a payment not going through due to technicalities and I'm responsible for the price increase?

Baggallini Everywhere Bagg

TripSavvy / Danielle Directo-Meston

Stylish silhouette

Roomy yet organized

Plenty of storage pockets

Comfortable shoulder strap

Water-resistant

Can only hold an average-sized disposable water bottle

No interior dividers

A little pricey

If you prefer to carry all your essentials but don’t want to be bogged down by a massive carryall, the Baggallini Everywhere Bagg easily doubles as an all-day purse and companion for your international travels.

  • Portability
  • Competition
  • Final Verdict

We purchased the Baggallini Everywhere Bagg so our reviewer could put it to the test. Keep reading for our full product review.

Baggallini was founded by two flight attendants who wanted practical, organized, and travel-friendly bag options that are as fashionable as they are functional—so it’s no wonder that the brand has become a go-to among travelers with an eye for style. We tested the company’s Everywhere Bagg in a variety of settings (from everyday errands to a day at the zoo and even at a dust-filled Renaissance fair) to see it lived up to its promise.

Design: Plenty of storage

The Everywhere Bagg is a medium-sized carryall that’s functional without feeling clunky, all thanks to its many interior and exterior pockets. Outside, there’s a large zipper pocket and two smaller pockets on the front—one zips closed and the other has a magnetic flap closure. We found these pockets handy for stashing snacks, receipts, and other smaller items that tend to get lost in the abyss of main compartments.

There’s plenty of organized storage, with eight credit card slots, a zipper pocket, a key leash, two pen loops, and a removable radio frequency identification-blocking (RFID) wristlet.

There is also a compartment on each of the two sides. One of these compartments is open, while the other is a zip-up compartment with an expandable inner pocket. We noted that this pocket can hold a standard-sized disposable plastic water bottle but couldn’t accommodate anything larger than that. There’s also a back pocket that unzips at the bottom and converts into a sleeve that can be slipped over a luggage handle—a feature that frequent globetrotters will find especially handy.

The main zipper closes securely across the entire bag, ensuring no stray hands can get inside. Inside the main compartment, there’s plenty of organized storage, with eight credit card slots, a zipper pocket, a key leash, two pen loops, and a removable radio frequency identification-blocking (RFID) wristlet. There’s also lots of space for sunglasses cases, an average-sized travel book, medication bottles, and other common items.

From the zipper pulls to the magnetic closures, we thought that all of the hardware felt substantial. The bag is also fairly sturdy and can stand up on its own, as long as the items inside are evenly-placed. The one design element we felt the bag was missing, despite its spaciousness, was an inner divider to keep belongings more organized, though this is more of a personal preference.

The material is also easy to spot-clean, as we discovered after splashing fruit juice on the outside.

The bag’s water-resistant nylon interior and exterior fabric mean there’s no need to worry about rain. The material is also easy to spot-clean, as we discovered after splashing fruit juice on the outside.

Style: Streamlined as can be

The bag has a sleek look, thanks to its somewhat structured silhouette plus the fact that its zippers and exterior fabric are all the same color. The inner lining, however, adds a fun pop of color—we tested the Portabello colorway, which had a vibrant purple fabric inside.

Because the bag weighs just 1 pound, it’s lightweight and versatile enough for everyday use.

While its design won’t rival a luxury designer handbag, that also means you’ll stay low-key in travel situations where you want to keep your belongings safe by blending in with the crowd.

Comfort: Wearable all day

The adjustable nylon strap feels similar to the material of a seatbelt. It’s durable, comfortable, and pretty strong. And, because the bag weighs just 1 pound, it’s lightweight and versatile enough for everyday use, no matter if you’re commuting to the office or flying across the world.

Portability: Surprisingly versatile

At 11 inches wide, 9 inches tall, and 5 inches wide, we found that this practical purse was the perfect size as an on-the-shoulder carryall or a cross-body bag. Surprisingly, it can also double as a stroller bag: With a strap that can adjust to as long as 52 inches, parents will be happy to know that it’s possible to hang it across a stroller handle safely and easily.

Price: A small investment for peace of mind

With an MSRP of $100, the Baggallini Everywhere Bagg was pricier than other similar bags we tested . However, we think that the price is reasonable for a high-quality, well-designed bag with storage and safety features.

Competition: The best value available

There are certainly more cost-effective options out on the market, such as the slightly smaller Satchelli Crossbody Bag (MSRP $40) that offers the same amount of exterior pockets but not as many interior features; it also doesn’t have the same polished look as the Baggallini. Even more affordable is the Suvelle Lightweight Hobo Bag , which retails for less than $30 but has no exterior storage pockets and fewer interior organizational compartments.

On the pricier side, high-end travel brand Tumi’s Voyageur collection of stylish nylon bags include the Troy Crossbody (MSRP $245), which offers luxe touches including leather corners, metal feet, and monogramming, among others.

Peace of mind is key when you’re traveling, and the Baggallini Everywhere Bagg offers just that. With more than 18 separate compartments, including a removable RFID-blocking pouch, this multi-functional purse transitions well from everyday use to zig-zagging across the globe (and everywhere in between).

What Is It: The SkyRoll garment bag , a carry-on garment bag/duffel bag. If you’ve ever flown to a wedding or business meeting, you know the pain of trying to juggle a garment bag and a rolling suitcase. (And then the garment bag usually gets crammed in the overhead bin anyway.) Enter the SkyRoll. This carry-on is a garment bag that wraps around a round suitcase. You can store suits, dresses, and jackets in the garment bag compartment. Then load up the hollow core of the bag with shoes, toiletries, underwear, etc., wrap the full garment bag around the core, and fly away!

Price and Where to Buy: $149.99 from  SkyRoll .

Pros: The design of this bag is genius. Wrapping a garment bag around a round core keeps things much more wrinkle-free than normal packing (yes, even using the rolling method). I like that there are separate compartments for shoes, toiletries (in case of leaks) and other things, and the core would even be great for holding documents. Plus, they throw in a toiletry kit perfectly designed to fit inside the bag. I usually bring rolling suitcases, but I liked the ease of just having this bag over my shoulder—much easier for going up and down stairs, over uneven pavement, and hefting the bag into the overhead compartment.

Cons: The bag is fairly heavy, weighing four pounds when empty, and much more than that when full. Although we like the material, the bag only comes in one style: black with a yellow stripe. Also, at $149.99, this bag is pricey, especially if you prefer to only use the SkyRoll when you need a garment bag, and use a traditional rolling suitcase when you don’t.

How it Rates:

  • Usefulness: 8/10. The SkyRoll is perfect if you need a garment bag, but not so much if you don’t.
  • Portability: 8/10. The dimensions (22 inches long by 8.5 inches wide) will fit in most airline overhead bins, but this bag is fairly heavy for a shoulder bag.
  • Value: 6/10. The price tag is high at $149.99—even if you think of it as two bags (a garment bag plus suitcase) for the price of one.
  • Durability: 10/10. The material is tough and the claps are all solid, plus the hard core helps to protect fragile items.
  • Cool Factor: 8/10. The design is cool, but we’re not a fan of the black and yellow combo.

Final Verdict: If you travel often with a garment bag, this product is a life saver. If you just cram jeans and T-shirts into your carry-on, this product might not be the best investment for you.

The best vacuum storage bags make the most of your space by removing the air inside and sealing it tight. Many use a vacuum or hand pump to suck out all the air, while some travel-friendly space bags can actually be hand-pressed shut. Because of this, they're great for packing out-of-season clothes, bedding and more into small spaces like under your bed or inside your suitcase .

After consulting our in-house experts and scouring online reviews, we've rounded up the best vacuum storage bags to shop on Amazon, starting at just $8 (with fast, free shipping to boot!).

Skip the checked luggage line at the airport with these travel-friendly storage bags. Forté named the Ziploc Space Bag a long-standing Lab favorite. There's no need for a pump or a vacuum to take the air out — simply fill each with up to five pounds of clothing or bedding, seal it with the Ziploc slider and fold to press out the air. It also costs under $10 for a pack of two.

Since they don't require any bulky equipment, these bags are a great option for users on the go. The brand claims the bags reduce the volume of clothing and bedding by up to 75%. They're also waterproof and airtight per the brand, meaning they should help protect your items from damage caused by travel and storage.

Stow bulky bedding, sweaters, pillows and more with these space-saving storage bags. You can either use the included hand pump or a standard vacuum cleaner to compress each bag and reduce volume by up to 80%, according to the brand. For under $20, this pack comes with four bag sizes to store different items: the smallest size fits six to eight sweaters while the largest fits a queen-sized bedding set.

The triple-sealed valve is designed to keep bags airtight so your items stay condensed, and the double-layered material is designed to be puncture- and scratch-resistant, making it more durable against damage. "They're strong and sturdy," one Amazon reviewer said . "They have great sizes and storage space, and they hold the seal (some for a year now)."

Boasting more than 38,000 five-star reviews and counting, Amazon's #1 best-selling space saver bags claim to shrink the size of your items by up to 80%. This variety pack includes 20 bags, making them great for anyone moving houses or with lots of vacuum storage needs. The pack includes standard vacuum-sealable bags as well as travel bags that can be rolled to press out air — no pump required.

Waterproof and reusable (purported by the brand), the bags' valves and seals are designed to prevent expansion and keep moisture and debris out. "The quality of these bags is outstanding," one online shopper wrote . "I feel confident storing my clothing, bedding and other textiles knowing they are safe and well-preserved."

Whether you need to increase your under-bed storage space or condense your clothes on the go, this pack offers the most variety with six different-sized bags for all your needs . The standard bags range from pouch-sized bags for lingerie and T-shirts to extra-large bags for bedding sets and pillows . Each waterproof bag has a handy line to show you where to stop filling them, making it more intuitive to pack than other options on our list.

While it can be sealed with the included hand pump or a vacuum, we love that the travel bags can be rolled to seal out excess air sans tool if needed. "These were a game changer during our move," an Amazon reviewer wrote . "The sizes vary drastically, accommodating many different types of items from quilts to pillows as well as clothes."

The original Spacesaver vacuum storage bags are our top pick for heavy-duty storage needs where damage protection is imperative, like cross-country moves and travel. You can use either the included hand pump or your vacuum to reduce volume by up to 80%, according to the brand. Choose from small to jumbo sizes and variety packs for all your storage needs.

Reviewers appreciate its ease of use and sturdy plastic . "I'm moving all the way across the country and was stressed out wondering how much of my clothing I could actually take with me. These Space Saver bags are a life saver!" wrote one five-star reviewer . "They are so easy to pack, zip and vacuum out the air. One of my best purchases ever here on Amazon (and I've made thousands)."

Hefty is known for its durable garbage bags and freezer bags, but the brand also has a line of high-rated vacuum storage bags. Including three large and three extra-large sizes, Hefty's Shrink-Pak bags claim to be waterproof and reusable season after season, so you don't have to worry about moisture, dust or bugs ruining your items. Plus, you can simply press the air out with your hands and seal.

We love how the extra large bags have a zipper on the long side rather than the shorter top, making it easier to pack bedding supplies like pillows and comforters. Shoppers agreed, with one writing : "We just went through a very long, drawn-out move and the shrink bags have been a true lifesaver! We were able to put lots of our clothes, towels and blankets in storage while we shopped for a new house. When we finally started unpacking, everything looked exactly the way it did when it was packed!"

More than 60,000 five-star reviewers endorse these space-saving bags from Amazon Basics. Even if you don't have a vacuum with compatible attachments to compress the bags, reviewers noted that the included hand pump works effectively — making it a great option for travel.

Available in sizes medium through jumbo and counts of four through 20, they store everything from T-shirts and sweaters to comforters and bed sheets. "This is ridiculously easy to use and fits so much!" one shopper said . "I have fit two king-sized comforters into one large bag with no issue."

Outfitted with a stylish plaid print, we wouldn't mind keeping these space bags out in plain sight. And it's not just for aesthetics. Their unique woven texture provides a bit of grip to their exterior, helping them to stay in place better while stacked. The bags come in four sizes and packs of six to 26, making them great for small organization projects and large undertakings.

Plus, they compress with a vacuum or its included pump. Reviewers appreciate the variety of sizes and ease of use, too. "I love these sealable storage bags!" one shopper wrote . "The quality is fantastic, very well-made and sturdy. I really like the assortment of colors and sizes, too, so much so that I ordered a second box!"

If you need to store cumbersome items like king-sized duvets, foam cushions or dog beds , Vacwel's XXL bags offer an impressive storage capacity of 47 by 35 inches . Featuring a nylon lining for extra durability, the brand claims these bags are waterproof and protect against dirt, bugs and dust. They even come with sticker labels to easily identify stored items.

"These bags are durable and got the job done," an Amazon shopper added . "I was able to vacuum seal large comforters and sheets! Very surprised at how many bedding items that I was able to put in the bags." Note that a pump is not included, so you'll need a vacuum handy to seal these bags.

Protect your out-of-season garments and make room for new pieces with these clever hanging storage bags on Amazon. You can stash up to five pieces of clothing inside each, including coats, jackets and suits . Just place one included hanger on each rotating ring, zip it up and vacuum all the air out. The vertical storage design keeps your clothes clean and organized until you're ready to wear them again.

"I get immense joy out of packing away my winter clothes in the Taili hanging bags," an Amazon reviewer said . "[It] shrink wraps everything into compact boards ... It was very easy and effective to use."

How we chose the best vacuum storage bags

listicle linebreak

With so many different options on the market, it can be difficult to determine which vacuum storage bags are worth buying. To help you find the right pick for your needs, we consulted our experts in the GH Institute Cleaning Lab and vetted customer reviews to bring you a range of vacuum storage bags that suit a variety of purposes.

How do you choose the best vacuum storage bags?

Choosing the best vacuum storage bags depends on your individual needs — do you just need to store a few seasonal sweaters, or pack up your whole house for a move? According to, the size and dimensions can help you figure out which options are right for you.

" They should be large enough to hold multiple items and be durable enough to use from year to year ," Forté says. Also consider whether your vacuum has the right attachment to pair with the bag — otherwise, opt for a bag that can be rolled to compress or can be hand pumped.

What do you put in a space bag?

listicle linebreak

While you might want to use your vacuum storage bag to compress bulky items like winter coats and duvets, Forté warns against vacuum-sealing down-filled items . Instead, she recommends only compressing them halfway.

"Otherwise, you risk crushing and breaking the down feathers and they may then not be as lofty or insulate as well," Forté says. Additionally, be sure not to store wet items, or you risk creating mold and causing long-term damage.

How long can you store items in a vacuum storage bag?

listicle linebreak

Forté recommends using storage bags for short-term and seasonal storage . "Keep items in them too long, and you risk permanently setting creases or crushing and flattening items that are supposed to be lofty and puffy," Forte says. For best results, be sure to check the recommended storage time on your bag's instructions.

Catching fresh tracks is every skier's dream, and the first step is to get all of the necessary gear and accessories to the ski resort with you. While going through a mental packing list can work for some skiers, the best way to keep your boots, outer layers, gloves, helmet, and goggles organized is by using a ski boot bag.

We tested 18 ski boots bags in a range of sizes and styles to determine the best options for every type of downhiller.  Travel + Leisure  editors and writers participated in the test, which involved packing the bags for several ski trips over the course of four weeks. Our top pick is the Backcountry Ski Boot Bag, thanks to its generous capacity, ample padding for comfort, and durable build. However, if this bag doesn’t entice you, we have other recommendations based on organization, size, and style preferences.

Best Overall

Backcountry ski & snowboard boot bag.

Backcountry

  • Capacity 5 /5
  • Design 5 /5
  • Portability 5 /5
  • Durability 5 /5

The capacity is large enough to fit gear and clothing for a three-day ski trip.

After three months of use, it loosens up and no longer stands upright on its own.

Right off the bat, we noticed the premium-feeling materials and spacious interior of the Backcountry Ski Boot Bag, but it really won us over after we used it for a three-day  ski trip to Utah . The U-shaped front opening made it easy to load ski boots, two of every outer layer and accessory, and three non-skiing outfits. While the bag could be a carry-on for some airlines, we had no problems checking the backpack in with all of the gear perfectly protected for the duration of the flight.

The top pocket is massive and can easily fit goggles, gloves, and other accessories. There are two slip pockets on either side of the bag for water bottles, and we especially liked the large hidden back pocket for packing extra clothing items. We found it easy to use the rear-access zipper to get the ski boots out of the bag, and the back flap can be used as a mat for putting gear on in a parking lot. After a day of skiing, the four vents at the bottom of the bag helped air out damp boots. The lining was easy to wipe clean when dirt got transferred from the bottom of the footwear. Although the bag has a large capacity, the padded back and straps make it comfortable to wear, and the sternum strap helps adjust height.

Best Structure

Dakine boot pack dlx 75l.

Dakine

The rectangular and structured shape makes it easy to pack this very spacious ski boot backpack.

There aren’t any vents or drainage.

We were impressed with the enormous capacity and structured rectangle shape of the Dakine Bootpack DLX 75L. It feels extremely sturdy, and we love that it sits upright, making it easier to look inside the bag for loading ski boots and gear. We packed the ski boot bag full of gear to fly with, and although we ended up having to gate-check the backpack, it was easy and comfortable to carry through the airport because the straps are so well padded, and the bag's base keeps the weight distributed evenly. Because of the thick padding surrounding the bag, we weren’t worried about packed gear going under the plane, as we were confident it was well-protected with the water-resistant and ripstop polyester material. Best of all, the backpack folds down flat so it can easily be stored in the off-season or when it’s not in use. The only downside is that there aren’t any vents to help dry wet gear, but we don’t consider that a deal-breaker since the bag impressed us plenty with its capacity and durability.

Best Organization

Athalon everything boot bag ski snowboard.

There are a lot of pockets and other storage spaces for everything you need to get out on the slopes.

It feels a little bulky to carry around when it’s packed.

You won’t have to worry about leaving your gloves or goggles behind, thanks to the designated accessory pockets and clips in the Athalon Everything Boot Bag. We love that there are plenty of thoughtful storage solutions for ski boots, a helmet, neck gaiters, pockets, and more throughout the inside and outside of the backpack for staying naturally organized. We appreciated the side pockets for ski boots as it separates the clothing and accessories from potentially damp boots after a day of skiing, plus it leaves room to pack the main compartment with clothing items. While the backpack was a little heavy to carry when it was packed, the adjustable straps and back are padded, which helps with comfort and weight distribution. The materials feel durable and water-resistant, so we feel confident that this boot bag will provide excellent organization and portability for plenty of  ski seasons  to come.

The Details: 58.5 liters | Polyester | 3.8 pounds

Best Duffel

Thule roundtrip ski & snowboard duffel bag.

The capacity of the bag is enormous without feeling cumbersome to carry.

It can be carried with the top handle or the removable padded shoulder strap.

Whether you’re  skiing with the family  or looking for extra off-season storage, Thule’s RoundTrip Ski and Snowboard Duffel Bag will serve you well with its large capacity and high-quality materials. It's easy to pack and unpack the three sections, the middle and two side pockets, and fairly easy to carry with a padded shoulder strap, even when it's cumbersome and heavy. The two side pockets with grommets are great for separating your boots from the rest of your gear. The bag has a heavy-duty feel due to the 600D polyester and padded material. The best part of this duffel bag is the 90-liter capacity that is spacious enough to fit three pairs of ski boots, a backup ski jacket, two pairs of snow pants, goggles, and other accessories. Plus, the bag can be carried by the top and side handles, a detachable padded shoulder strap, or it can be strapped to a ski bag. After three months of regular use, it has held up well and shows no signs of wear.

Best Heated

Kulkea thermal trekker.

  • Durability 4.8 /5
  • Value 4.5 /5

The ski boot pockets have built-in heaters that easily warm them up.

There aren’t any vents or drainage holes.

Skiers will love the Kulkea Thermal Trekker Heated Ski Boot Backpack on extra chilly days  on the mountain , thanks to its heated side pockets that will warm up your boots before you hit the slopes. After regularly using the bag for three months, we love that unique feature for bitterly cold days. The heated pockets have three settings (low, medium, and high) that can be adjusted with a little remote that fits in the bottom front pocket for easy access. Besides the two side pockets for boots, the backpack has a large main compartment, a top pocket, a front pocket, and a front helmet sling. We had no issues fitting all of their ski gear in the backpack and we like that it's compact enough to wear on your back and comfortable even when wearing several layers. We would have liked to see drainage or vents in the boot pockets, but we understand that because of the insulation and heated element, any type of drainage would be counterproductive.

The Details: 62 liters | Nylon | 6.98 pounds

Best Budget

Athletico ski boot bag.

  • Capacity 4.8 /5
  • Portability 4.8 /5

The backpack has two side pockets for storing each boot separately, which frees up space in the main compartment.

After using the bag for three months, we wish the straps were a bit more padded for long-term comfort.

Athletico’s Ski Boot Bag is our favorite budget option for skiers looking to save a buck without sacrificing quality. We like that the backpack-style boot bag has one main compartment for storing your helmet, gloves, or any other gear, and then you can easily place your ski boots into the large pockets on either side of the bag. While we wish there were a few more pockets for extra storage, we were able to fit all the gear they needed to head to the mountain hands-free and organized. The bag is made with water-resistant polyester with drainage and ventilation holes at the bottom, and we think there is sufficient padding for comfort. Adjustable straps allowed us to customize the fit of the bag accordingly. Plus, the backpack straps can be tucked into the back of the bag for checking it in when flying.

The Details: Polyester | 2.4 pounds

Best Backpack

Thule roundtrip snowboard and ski boot backpack.

The compact design is easy to carry and easily fits in lockers.

It's a bit heavier than previous Thule RoundTrip models.

From top to bottom, the latest Thule Roundtrip 60L feels well-made and is outfitted with plenty of padding, pockets, and straps for transporting your items safely and comfortably. The compact design features a main compartment where you can slide your boots inside so they sit against your back. The body of the pack also includes a padded helmet compartment, keeping the overall design shorter and easier to wear, pack, and lift into overhead bins and locker spaces. For easy access to small accessories, the large side pockets include organizational features like mesh sleeves and zippered pockets. Throughout our tests, we especially love the thick and durable polyester materials. We checked the bag on a long-distance trip to Japan and all of our gear arrived safely and intact — ready for the slopes.

The Details: 60 liters | Polyester | 2.76 pounds

Best Compact

Kulkea boot trekker.

The bag is plenty spacious without feeling cumbersome to wear or store in the off-season.

It's a bit hard to fit the boots in the side pockets and takes some maneuvering.

The Kulkea Boot Trekker Backpack will fit everything from ski boots to goggles without feeling bulky or heavy when carrying it to and from  the lodge . The thoughtful design allows skiers to pack larger and smaller gear in the spacious main compartment and a variety of smaller pockets on the front, back, and sides of the bag. We love that it has other smart features for ski gear, like ventilation for drying out boots, a helmet sling in the front, and an abundance of padding and adjustable chest, shoulder, and belt straps for carrying the backpack. We love that it has comfortable, wide, padded straps that free up hands to carry other gear. Since this bag is on the smaller side, we noticed that larger ski boots (size 32, to be exact) were difficult to fit in the bag, but there were no issues fitting smaller pairs.

The Details: 69 liters | Polyester | 3.9 pounds

Other Ski Boot Bags We Liked

There was some stiff competition between the ski boot bags we tested, and while there were plenty that earned high scores, the several highlighted below were well-liked but barely missed the benchmark for our top list.

Unigear 50L Ski Boot Bag :  The bag is compact and fits everything you need for a day on the hill, but we wish there were vents or drainage to help gear dry after skiing. However, the price is exceptionally good for a quality bag with plenty of storage and pockets.

OutdoorMaster Boot Bag :  We think this feels well-made and has a variety of useful pockets for skiers, however, the design of the bag is a bit bulky because of the two side pockets for boots. Ultimately, the boot bag is a fair price, but the other budget bags impressed us a little more.

Dakine Boot Locker 69L :  The simple boot bag feels heavy-duty and is made with quality materials, but it lacks space and ventilation for ski boots.

Dakine Boot Pack 50L :  We love how comfortable this boot bag is to wear, and the cost is fair for the durable and functional design of the bag. However, it doesn’t have ventilation or drainage, and other bags in the same price and style category did.

Travel + Leisure / Michael Vlaho

We got our hands on 18 ski boot bags from notable outdoor gear brands and rated each on capacity, portability, durability, and design. Our downhill rippers used the ski boot bags to protect and store their gear on trips to the mountains via car and airplane.

The ski boot bags with the most positive feedback had a generous capacity that wasn’t too big or too small, making them easy to carry for short and far distances. We were most impressed by the bags with a variety of storage solutions and special features like spacious pockets, drainage, adjustable straps, separators, and multiple openings to pack gear intuitively and efficiently. Our top performers also had ample padding and additional weight-distributing straps for extra comfort while carrying the packed bags to and from ski resorts.

After packing, unpacking, and using the ski boots bags for multiple ski trips, we checked the prices to determine the fairness of the cost in light of performance during testing. The best ski boot bags had an excellent value for their prices, with most of us noting that we’d pay even more for the most high-quality and functional ski boot bags. Our tests continued over a period of three months.

Tips for Buying a Ski Boot Bag

Keep in mind organizational needs.

Ski boot bags are designed to organize your ski gear, but you’ll want to pay attention to the specific construction of the bag. Some bags will have designated pockets for items like helmets, gloves, and goggles, whereas others may have fewer storage solutions. If organization or special features on the bag are important to you, be sure to read product listings carefully to ensure your needs are met.

Consider the volume

The volume or capacity of the bag will determine what size ski boots will fit in the interior compartment. In our tests, we found that some bags didn’t fit larger boots, so to ensure you get the right size, check the capacity in liters and dimensions before purchasing. If you fly with your ski gear often, you might want to invest in a bigger boot bag that can fit most of your clothing and gear so you can  travel with less luggage .

Travel + Leisure / Lydia Price

Drainage is key

More often than not, your ski boots will likely go into the boot bag slightly wet after a day of skiing. Investing in a boot bag with ventilation and drainage is ideal for allowing your boots to dry on the way home from the mountain.

When it comes to picking out a ski boot bag, be sure to coordinate the bag size with the size of your ski boots and other gear you’d like to pack in it. For skiers with larger boots or lots of gear, opt for a bag with larger dimensions and a higher capacity. We found 50 liters or more tends to be a generous size. For frequent fliers , be sure to cross-check an airline’s dimension limits for carry-on bags if you like to bring your ski boot bag aboard a plane.

Ski boot bags can be an excellent piece of carry-on luggage , but only if they fit the airline’s dimension requirements. Depending on the size of the bag, it might be easier to check it in rather than schlep it through an airport, but if it fits the size limits, it could be worth it to bring it on the airplane. Some airlines will even allow you to check in your ski bag and add on your boot bag for no extra charge, so make sure you’ve looked up the specifics for your journey.

If the cleaning instructions aren’t included on the tag of the ski boot bag, you should be able to find them on the website. In general, you should always take your gear out to dry after a day of skiing. Even if it wasn’t a wet day, your boots, gear, and bag are likely still damp, and you’ll want to dry everything out to prolong the life of each item.

Anatomy of a Classic: Il Bisonte's Consuelo Bag

Let quality craftsmanship speak for itself.

This edition of Anatomy of a Classic is presented by Il Bisonte.

His name may not be familiar, but you’d know a Jacques Adnet piece if you saw one. The champion of French modernism was famous for crafting furniture that was supremely luxurious in its ingenious simplicity. It’s not a surprise, then, that the designer has been a staple of mood boards for decades. Most recently he was the inspiration for Il Bisonte’s latest venture: a capsule suite of leather canteen trays made in collaboration with interior designer Shawn Henderson to accompany the brand’s line of cardholders, bookmarks, and other home accessories.

il bisonte town and country anatomy of a classic

Subtlety has long been Il Bisonte’s MO, ever since the brand was founded by Wanny Di Filippo in 1970. His secret weapon was a Florentine artisan named Consuelo, who worked with Di Filippo for nearly 30 years, studying, shaping, and enhancing the beauty of cowhide to transform it into briefcases and totes, belts and backpacks.

il bisonte town and country anatomy of a classic

In 2019 Consuelo was honored with a namesake handbag, a supple construction of vegetable-tanned vacchetta leather that is refreshingly simple and free of fluff—and, as is Il Bisonte’s signature, lets the quality do all the talking. Consider it a valuable lesson: Shouting for attention can be effective, but sometimes a whisper is the true power move.
