Has anyone traveled to Somalia and how was that experience?
Berbera airport has to be the most chaotic I've ever seen. The landscape is mostly dry, barren and empty. I'd say the experience was just OK. There's really not so much to see or do other than Las Geel really. Somaliland is the kind of place that if you're in the area you might consider visiting, but not really a place to go just to visit there.

Although far from a stable prosperous country, Somalia has a somewhat stable system of government now especially in the capital city. I've been to pretty much all of them. Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia, DR Congo, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, etc. Most of my visits tend do be short, 2-8 days in these places. Most of my trips are solo travel or with a travel buddy. Afghanistan and Pakistan were on the same trip.

If you are foolish enough to go out to the outer parts of Mogadishu or other parts of rural Somalia, you will either be shot by milita operating in rural Somalia or be devoured by lions, cheetahs, spotted hyenas or leopards.
