At one point during the first show of her long-awaited, highly anticipated Eras tour on Friday night (Mar. 17), Taylor Swift described herself as “really overwhelmed, and trying to keep it together all night.” It’s easy to understand: this enormous stadium trek, one of pop’s hottest tickets in years, also happens to be Swift’s first proper tour in five years, thanks primarily to the pandemic. The pop superstar has released a whopping four original albums (plus two re-recorded ones) since last hitting the road, and on Friday night at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., she told the crowd that she had been dreaming about this day — the day that she could finally perform this wealth of new material — for a long time.

“Overwhelming” would also be an apt way to describe the sheer tonnage of the Eras tour: with segments dedicated to all 10 of Swift’s studio albums, the show entertained a sold-out, frequently screaming stadium audience for 3 hours and 15 minutes, as Swift tirelessly showcased her skill set and various artistic personas across a whopping 44 songs. The most dominant artist in popular music has used this live run to reflect on the various iterations of her career to date, and the achievement is often staggering, with costume changes, set-piece upheaval, vulnerable moments in a crowd of thousands and sing-alongs that will rival the scope of any tour this year.

The Eras tour is going to satisfy a lot of Swift diehards in the coming months, who will surely find their own favorite pockets of the set list. And while Swift fans should embrace the entire experience, the opening night provided some clear-cut highlights. Here are the 13 best moments from the Eras tour kickoff in Glendale on Friday night:

The Cathartic Opening of “Cruel Summer”

Although Swift technically opened the show with part of a different Lover track, “Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince,” the brilliant synth-pop single “Cruel Summer” was the first to get the full, stadium-show treatment, complete with a raised platform, backup dancers and Swift unveiling a diamond-encrusted one-piece with matching tall boots. For both the fans in attendance and Swift herself, the song seemed to represent an exhalation — this tour was finally happening, and this immaculate song, three-and-a-half years old at this point, was finally being performed.

The First Era-Hop, Into ‘Fearless’

“Tonight, we’re going to be going on an adventure, one era at a time!” Swift declared a few songs into the show — a concept that truly sunk in a few minutes later, when the first era of the evening, Lover , gave way to Fearless both in the set list and stylistically. Gone was the glitter getup and deep pop rhythms, replaced with a fringe dress and sunny country licks from Swift’s acoustic guitar, as she jumped into the Fearless title track, “You Belong With Me” and “Love Story.” The “Fearless” change-up marked the moment that the idea of the Eras tour fully snapped into place, and the crowd was enthralled with the approach.

Taylor’s ‘Evermore’ Theory Defense

In the middle of the Evermore mini-set, Swift sat down at a moss-covered piano and talked to the audience about how gratifying it was that she was finally getting to perform her “four new members of the family” — Lover, Folklore, Evermore and Midnights , the four albums she’s released since her last tour. She added that Evermore “is an album I absolutely love — despite what some of you say on TikTok!” She paused for comic effect, then deadpanned, “I’ve seen it. I’ve seen all of it!” Even if some TikTok users claim that Swift hasn’t personally warmed as much to Folklore ’s counterpart as her other projects, Swift refuted those theories and gave Evermore prime placement in her set list, with a total of five songs performed from the album, including “’Tis The Damn Season,” “Willow” and “Tolerate It.”

The Unexpected “Don’t Blame Me” Showcase

When the Evermore part of the set ended and snake scales appeared on screen, everyone in attendance knew that Reputation was next up — and while singles like “…Ready For It?,” “Delicate” and “Look What You Made Me Do” were all delivered with high energy, “Don’t Blame Me” was bestowed with a fiery passion that, even compared to how its swooping harmonies were presented on the Reputation tour, elevated the album cut. Quite literally: Swift sprung skyward on a platform while attacking a big, showy note during the song’s climax, making for one of the more memorable technical performances of the evening.

“Enchanted” as the Dramatic 'Speak Now' Representative

It’s hard to quibble with set list exclusions when the set list in question contains 44 songs… but still, Speak Now fans are not going to be thrilled that the Eras tour contains only one song from that particular era. At least that song stood out as a highlight: “Enchanted” found Swift in a flowing ball gown maximizing the emotional stakes, with acoustic strums laying the groundwork for a full-band crescendo. If “Mine,” “Back to December,” “Mean” and “Dear John” aren’t getting any burn on this tour, “Enchanted” will have to be a powerhouse for the third-album diehards… and on opening night, it was just that.

The Extended Version of “All Too Well”…

After rolling through Red highlights like “22,” “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and “I Knew You Were Trouble,” Swift spoke to the audience about how meaningful the success of both the original Red in 2012 and the re-recorded version in 2021 had been for her. Then, Swift asked if the crowd had an extra 10 minutes to spare. The chart-topping 10-minute version of “All Too Well” followed the roars in response, and naturally functioned as a centerpiece for the entire set, arriving roughly at the halfway point and becoming an emotional anchor for the evening. By the time that paper snowflakes fell across the stadium during the final minute, the magic of the moment was widely accepted.

…And the Three-Word Shout-Along Within “All Too Well”

When you attend a Taylor Swift show in 2023 (and beyond), you simply will not experience a bigger sing-along moment than the phrase “F–k the patriarchy!” In the 10-minute “All Too Well.” Not only does everyone in attendance sing along, they scream along, and wind up to it in the preceding lyrics! Talk about magic! Count on Swifties loudly flipping off men in power, in unison, for years to come.

'Folklore' Deep Cut-Turned-Viral Smash “August”

Taylor Swift pays attention to her fans — when she says she’s seen the Evermore hate on TikTok, she’s kidding around, but rest assured she’s actually seen it. So when deciding which tracks from the sprawling Folklore to play, there’s no doubt that Swift noticed the fan adoption to “August,” which wasn’t a focus track upon the album’s release but has since become a fan favorite that’s often bubbling up on social media (especially during the titular month each year). The mass sing-along of “August” may have caught some offline attendees as a surprise, but Swift’s fans fiercely love the wistful folk-pop track, and demonstrated their appreciation at the opener.

The Neon Golf Clubs of “Blank Space”

Swift’s backup dancers rode out on neon-lit bicycles during her performance of the 1989 smash, but that was only prelude to one of the night’s better visuals: Swift and her cohorts brandishing blue-lit golf clubs during the bridge, and then smashing an animated car (a la Swift’s crazed attack in the “Blank Space” video) on a mid-stage screen, each new dent in time with the song’s beat. It was difficult to look away from the spectacle, and became the sort of sight gag that sticks with you long after the show has wrapped.

The Surprise Acoustic Track

Deep into the evening, Swift grabbed her guitar and announced that she planned to perform an acoustic song that wasn’t included in the Eras set list during the tour, with the hope of never duplicating the song she selected for each performance. It’s a strong move in theory — even after the Eras set list gets mulled over endlessly, there will still be a new surprise each night — and was even better in practice, as the achingly beautiful “Mirrorball” was selected for the first performance. The acoustic tracks probably won’t be as strong as the Folklore standout on a nightly basis, but for the Glendale audience, the choice made opening night even more special.

The “Anti-Hero” Metaphor Comes to Life

Earlier in the evening, Taylor Swift gave a begrudging shout-out to everyone in the audience who was dressed like a “sexy baby” in tribute to the “Anti-Hero” lyric; later, when her latest No. 1 smash was performed, Swift embodied the “monster on the hill” line that follows it. On the video screen behind her performance, Swift turned herself into a Godzilla-esque creature terrorizing a city before glumly sitting on (and destroying) an office building. On a night with a lot of impressive choreography and stage setups, that straightforward visual — Swift as the problem, it’s her — became one of the more interesting spectacles of the show, and added to the performance of the hit single.

The “Vigilante Shit” Dance Routine

Speaking of spectacle: Swift goes full-on burlesque alongside her dancers for the Midnights standout, dancing on and around a chair and having an absolute blast while doing it. The song comes about three hours into the performance, but Swift conjures every ounce of energy to turn one of the more sparsely produced songs in her catalog into an enthralling jam.

Ending With a Fan Favorite

The final era presented during the Eras tour is Midnights , and Swift could have capped it with a hit — “Anti-Hero,” of course, or maybe fast-rising follow-up “Lavender Haze.” Instead, she concludes the evening with a trio of non-hits that fans truly adore: “Bejeweled,” “Mastermind” and “Karma.” The logic behind that decision is simple: the Eras tour is less about hits than it is about fan service, and ending on a song like “Karma” nods to those who inhale every song on a Swift track list instead of just paying attention to the singles. This run of shows is for the fully committed Swift listeners, and an album cut like “Karma” is the perfect way to bid them adieu for now.

Taylor Swift shares big video hint that the 'Eras Tour' may be changing

Taylor Swift is taking fans behind the scenes of her “Eras Tour” with a series of clips, and Swifties now suspect there’s a hint as to changes coming to the world-renowned show.

Days after releasing her newest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” Swift posted another YouTube Short video with her hit single “Fortnight,” featuring Post Malone,” playing over videos of her and her dancers rehearsing for the tour. But there’s one moment in the montage that has fans doing what they do best: speculating.

Fans will recognize many of the scenes being practiced, such as Swift's iconic entrance from the ground, her performance of "Lavender Haze" in a coat surrounded by clouds, playing "Champagne Problems" seated at a moss-covered piano and more. But one clip, in which Swift stands in the middle of a stage with her dancers lined up behind her wearing top hats and holding canes, did not appear in the original "Eras Tour."

Taylor Swift YouTube Short

“Since when do background dancers have a top hat and canes?!” one fan with the username armaisacat.1989 captioned a TikTok of the scene, adding “Taylor Swift you have some explaining to do!!”

The “Eras Tour” is a three-hour, 15-minute concert in which Swift performs songs from all of her albums since her 2006 self-titled debut record. Many — including the TODAY.com staff — have speculated whether or not the pop star would integrate “Tortured Poets Department” as another era in the show.

All will be (hopefully) be revealed when the tour begins again in Paris on May 9.

This is the second YouTube Short Swift has posted since the latest album release. On April 19, she shared glimpses of her personal life , again set to the tune of “Fortnight.”

In that compilation, her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, makes appearances with the star. The videos are in collaboration with YouTube, encouraging users to post their own “14 snippets” of their lives set to the same song.

Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour Is a 3-Hour Career-Spanning Victory Lap

By Waiss Aramesh

Waiss Aramesh

How do we measure the impact of a musician in 2023? Streams can be bought. Awards can be finessed. Is it when demand for show tickets leads to a congressional hearing about Ticketmaster’s policies? Or when flight attendants shout out a fanbase making a pilgrimage to see a tour opener? Or when TikToks of merch inspirations and setlist predictions rack up millions of views? Nearly a decade ago, a headline ran declaring ‘ Taylor Swift Is The Music Industry’ and those with even the slightest pulse on pop culture can tell she’s only grown more omnipresent since. It all led to a warm evening in Glendale, Arizona where months after delivering her most commercially-successful album to date, Midnights , Swift debuted a discography-spanning setlist that lasted over three hours and kicked off an aptly-named stadium run. The Eras Tour has arrived.

After night had fallen and GAYLE and Paramore revved the crowd up with a mix of recent chart-toppers (GAYLE’s “abcdefu”) and cultural anthems (Paramore’s “Misery Business”), it was time for the main event. At 7:57pm, a timer appeared on a massive screen prompting screams from all corners of State Farm Stadium. Lesley Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me” played as fans braced themselves for the arrival of Swift. When the timer hit 0:00, the house we’d seen in the “Lover” music video assembled on the screen, indicating that this evening was first and foremost about reviving the feelings each era evoked.

Editor’s picks

The 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history, every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term.

It’s easy to compare one of Swift’s stadium shows to something you’d see on Broadway — never has that been more true than for The Eras Tour . The setlist is cut up into acts, grouped together by eras for each of Swift’s ten studio albums. For each era/act, Swift went full-send into that album’s look, feel, costume, color blocking, and more.

Many eras got a few songs. At one moment, it seemed like Swift’s soft spot for Folklore would mean we’d hear the entire album. On the opposite end, Speak Now ’s part of the show was short but impactful. Swift played only one song from her third studio album, “Enchanted,” while wearing a stunning floor-length ballroom gown designed by Nicole + Derr. Hopping from act to act, Swift made it extremely clear when she’s taking the audience out of one era and into another. This isn’t a hastily put together setlist with a vague thread of connective tissue — Swift is taking her audience on a nostalgic extravaganza.

Taylor Swift Dominates Entire Top 10 on Hot 100. Again

Taylor swift makes chart history with ‘the tortured poets department', how st. vincent unlocked her realest album yet.

For “The Man,” Swift completed her Versace look with a blazer and made sure everyone could see the red bottoms when she kicked her feet up on a conference room table as she delivered the masterfully written and scathing assessment of gender inequality in pop culture. Swift closed out the Lover era act with “You Need to Calm Down” and “The Archer,” the latter getting a beautifully stripped down rendition so Swift’s vocals echoed across the stadium: “Because all of my enemies started out friends / Help me hold onto you.”

At one point, as Swift ran through hits from her Fearless era, she flashed a smile and announced to the crowd that she was taking us back to high school with her. The nostalgia seeped into the show, resulting in some of the loudest crowd participation yet, especially from those old enough to have grown up with Swift and were in high school at the same time she was. The singer ran through “Fearless,” “You Belong With Me,” and “Love Story,” reminding us of a time when we discovered the pop phenomenon unbeknownst to the level of celebrity she’d achieve.

Something about Swift — she’s online. If the fact that she decided to end last night with the TikTok-friendly “Karma” doesn’t make that obvious enough, her joke about disliking Evermore hammers home the point.

Later on in the act reserved for her ninth studio album, in line with how theatrical the event was, Swift set up a beautiful dinner setting only to deliver a heart-wrenching rendition of “Tolerate It.” She also performed “Tis the Damn Season,” “Willow,” “Marjorie,” and “Champagne Problems,” giving fans a sizable taste of the Evermore live experience they weren’t able to receive when the project came out in 2020.

For the acts dedicated to Reputation and Red , fans were treated to a masterclass in visuals and hitmaking, two key elements that has assured Swift prolonged success for as long as she’s had it. The powerful, striking, snake motifs were an awesome callback for fans who attended the Reputation tour.

For Red , Swift went through “22,” “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” and “I Knew You Were Trouble. She closed out the act with a beautiful performance of the 10-minute “Taylor’s Version” of “All Too Well.” In the evening’s most ethereal moment, small white confetti made to look like snow blanketed the State Farm Stadium as she neared the end of her magnum opus, singing “Because in this city’s barren cold/I still remember the first fall of snow/And how it glistened how it fell/I remember it all too well.” Not only is Swift a savant for world-building, but she’s perfected the ability to translate those worlds into the live experience.

Swift wasn’t shy about making sure people got the full Folklore live experience. A makeshift cabin, not unlike the one made during Swift’s 2021 Grammys performance, sat on the stage with Swift perched on it during “Invisible String.” The star also discussed how she finally got comfortable crafting narratives for purely fictional characters, rather than ripping them from the headlines about her life.

1989’s era act turned the party up and restored the energy, with Swift donning a Roberto Cavalli top and skirt and going through “Style,” “Blank Space,” “Shake It Off,” “Wildest Dreams,” and “Bad Blood.”

To cap off the evening, Swift returned to Midnights , performing album highlights “Lavender Haze,” “Mastermind,” and more. It was hard to ignore the immense gratitude the singer continued to exude throughout the evening, with the “thank yous” coming more and more often the closer she got to the end.

Eventually, the singer asked the crowd if they had time for one more and launched into her finale, “Karma,” a track with a passionate chorus that’s begging to be scream-sung in a room of over 70,000 who’ve been waiting for this exact moment for years. Maybe it’s fitting that an artist who’s had more than her fair share of ups and downs, and at times has been the most polarizing musician alive, ends her stadium tour opener with a song about how she can finally protect her peace. Karma’s a relaxing thought, indeed.

Taylor Swift  rounded out her Los Angeles residency on Wednesday -- and she did not disappoint! On Aug. 3, the 33-year-old "Shake It Off" singer began her 6-night Eras Tour run at SoFi Stadium, and she's received lots of love from her famous friends and fans  every single night.

Swift drew a massive number of Swifties to the grand arena, which houses over 100,000 concertgoers, belting out some of her massive hit singles.

The sold-out concerts predictably drew a huge crowd of Hollywood's heavy hitters -- including Jamie King, Selena Gomez, Mindy Kaling, Charlize Theron, Taylor Lautner, Emma Stone, Channing Tatum, Kevin Costner and many, many more. Here's a look at who turned up to Swift's celebrated shows.

Actress Jamie King -- who named Swift as the godmother of her son, Leo Thames, in 2016 -- attended the final show of Taylor's L.A. Eras Tour run on Wednesday. King took to her Instagram Story to share a photo of friendship bracelets, including one that read "godmother" as an ode to Swift!

Karlie Kloss  was also spotted at the show amid longstanding rumors that the former best friends previously had a falling out. Multiple fans posted videos to TikTok and Instagram of the 31-year-old model with her husband, Joshua Kushner, in the stands.

"[Karlie] initially was seated in the 200s sections, but at one point in the night, security took her to the VIP section," an eyewitness tells ET. "Fans were very surprised to see Karlie there. Karlie was recording some of Taylor’s performances on her phone and singing along to some songs. She looked like she was having a really good time."

Other notable stars in the building on night six included Kerry Washington, Adam Sandler, Amanda Kloots, Kyle Richards, Hillary Duff, Bru on the Radio, Caelynn Miller-Keyes, and Miles Teller's wife, Keleigh Sperry.

Swift's bestie Selena Gomez stepped out again to see the show with her little sister, Gracie. Additional celebs in the audience included Meghan Markle, Taylor Lautner, Emma Stone, Austin Butler, Adam Scott, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, Mariska Hargitay, Courteney Cox, Savannah Guthrie and Kaia Gerber, to name just a few.

For his part, Lautner was spotted handing out friendship bracelets that read "Uncle Tay" at the Aug. 8 show.

Mindy Kaling took her daughter, Kit, out for her very first concert, gushing that it was "the best first concert EVER." Also in a celebratory mood, Charlize Theron was joined by her daughters as the actress partied the night away on her 48th birthday.

Among the other stars in attendance that night were: Cameron Diaz, Tiffany Haddish, Flavor Flav, Kevin Costner, Colton Underwood, Sophia Bush, Victoria Justice, Ashley Greene, Zoe Saldana, Sofia Richie, Kaitlyn Dever, Dane Cook, Haley Lu Richardson, Camilla Luddington, Noah Beck, Chrishell Stause, Emma Hernan, Sarah Jeffery, Dita Von Teese, Renee Rapp, Michelle Monaghan, and Shannon Beador.

  Night 1:

On opening night of Swift's L.A. residency, Aly Raisman, Allison Holker, Heidi and Spencer Pratt, Dylan Mulvaney, Dixie D’Amelio, Danny Pudi, Hayley Kiyoko, Sarah Drew, Lizzy McAlpine, Babyface, Loren Gray, Kathryn Gallagher, Stephanie Styles, Molly Shannon, and Katie Couric were among those in attendance.

Vanessa Bryant took to Instagram to share a photo of the specially decorated ensemble she created to pay tribute to both Swift and her late husband, Kobe Bryant. Her jean jacket featured a photo of the Los Angeles Lakers legend surprising Swift on stage during her concert at the Staples Center in 2015.

Swift also surprised Vanessa and Kobe's 6-year-old daughter, Bianka Bryant, with her "22" hat and a sweet hug from the stage during the show.

Meanwhile, Modern Family alum Jesse Tyler Ferguson and husband Justin Mikita got in on the Swiftie craze by making friendship bracelets to trade with other friends at the concert.

"Justin told me I have to make these for the @taylorswift #erastour tonight," Ferguson captioned a photo of himself wearing several handmade bracelets. "I am 47 years old but I don't want to be underprepared."

The friendship bracelets are a popular trend among Swift's famous fans just as they are among her legion of diehard followers.Apart from Ferguson, many other stars showed off their bracelets on social media, including Sofia Carson, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, Brie Larson, Madelyn Cline, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Taylor Lautner's wife, Taylor Dome.

The official account for the Eras Tour also shared the news that friendship bracelets had been placed on every single seat in SoFi Stadium for the concerts, so everyone could get in on the fun.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department weighed in on the massive popularity of the shows and the security presence, stating that the "massive influx" of concertgoers required them to increase police presence at metro stations and on public transit.

"The (sheriff's) department, in coordination with LA Metro and the Los Angeles Police Department, will be providing additional law enforcement staffing throughout the Metro system to support the Taylor Swift concert series at SoFi Stadium," the LASD stated . "The department is providing a similar level of visibility as the 2022 Super Bowl in order to ensure the safety of the public throughout the Metro system."

Swift's run in Los Angeles wrapped up her first U.S. leg of her Eras Tour , and it comes to a close just as she recently handed out bonuses to a lot of the people who helped make it all possible.

ET learned earlier this week that Taylor gave $100,000 bonuses to around 50 of her production truck drivers and also gave bonuses to her band members, dancers, lighting and sound technicians, caterers and others -- all to the tune of over $5 million.

TMZ   was the first to report on the generous payouts and notes they are "end-of-the-tour" bonuses. Swift kicked off the United States leg of her concerts back in March in Glendale, Arizona, and finishes this weekend in Inglewood, California, before heading to Mexico.

Swift is already one of the  highest-paid  entertainers in the world, but now it looks like her  Eras Tour  could be the highest-grossing tour of all time, earning a record-setting  $1 billion in sales .

Celebrate the start of The Tortured Poets Department era by reliving Swift's record-breaking concert at home.

taylor swift eras tour concert youtube

Drop everything now. Taylor Swift's newest album, The Tortured Poets Department and its surprise companion album The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, are officially here. And if you want to celebrate and relive all the eras that came before, you can now watch Taylor Swift's Eras Tour concert film exclusively on Disney Plus. The Disney Plus version of the film includes new performances, including  Cardigan , and says goodbye to a few fan favorites.

The first version of the Eras Tour movie hit theaters late last year, and became the  highest-grossing concert film  ever, as reported by Variety. Then it was available to rent on demand. Now the Disney Plus version of the film promises new performances and says goodbye to some fan favorites.

Are you ready for it ? If not, we've got you covered. Here's everything we know about the new concert film, how to watch Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version), and why a VPN might be a useful tool for streaming.

What's new in the Disney Plus version of the film?

Disney Plus' version of the flick will feature Swift's performance of Cardigan, which was previously cut from the theatrical release of the movie, and four additional acoustic songs. You can check out a preview of the Cardigan performance here , in an exclusive early clip on Apple's App Store. Swift had also released the names of the four new acoustic performances leading up to Thursday's release on ABC's  Good Morning America (also owned by Disney). Now that the film has officially dropped, we know that the four acoustic songs featured in the Disney Plus version of the film are I Can See You, Death By A Thousand Cuts, You Are in Love and Maroon (which is accompanied by another performance of You're On Your Own Kid). It's important to note that these songs are included at the end of the film, after the credits.

Swift  recorded  six acoustic songs during filming in August, and the performances of Our Song and You're on Your Own, Kid made both the theatrical and on-demand rental versions of the film. Now, all six performances have found their way into the concert flick, which is an extra treat for super fans like ourselves.

Songs excluded from the Disney Plus cut of the movie include Long Live, The Archer, Wildest Dreams and No Body, No Crime.

New Footage From Taylor Swift's 'Eras Tour' Rehearsals Hint at 'TTPD' Set

Taylor Swift might be gearing up to hold a Tortured Poets Department board meeting in the middle of her European Eras Tour concerts.

Swift, 34, uploaded a video of her tour prep to YouTube Shorts on Thursday, April 25, with the caption, "A fortnight till Paris." In the clip, Swift practiced her setlist alongside her backup dancers.

While eagle-eyed fans noticed that Swift had run through performances of the likes of "Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince" and "Karma," they also noticed snippets from a few numbers that had seemingly never been seen on stage.

In one instance, Swift played a white guitar and fans clocked that ivory hue matches the iconography of her new album , The Tortured Poets Department . There also appears to be a desk positioned on stage at one point in the video that could be another reference to the department. In another clip, Swift - wearing her now-viral PopFlex Active skort - leaned against a railing with white letters in the center. Fans have speculated the letters spell out "TTPD."

Breaking Down Taylor Swift's Remaining ‘Eras Tour' Schedule

"That's the TTPD logo on the railing," one user pointed out via X. "Omg TTPD is getting her own set at The Eras Tour !"

Swift also wore black lace-up heels as she posed on the railing, which other social media users compared to the similar Victorian-inspired pumps she sported in her "Fortnight" music video with Post Malone . ("Fortnight" is also the lead single off of TTPD.)

Another moment in the YouTube clip shows Swift surrounded by her backup dancers, the latter of whom are wearing circus-inspired top hats. Fans believe it is teeing up a TTPD performance of "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?" because of the big top lyrical reference, "I was tame, I was gentle 'til the circus life made me mean / ‘Don't you worry, folks, we took out all her teeth."

Another social media fan speculated: "Why do I feel like these are definitely rehearsal pics for TTPD songs ‘cause when have we ever had the dancers with hats and sticks."

A selection of Swifties even think that they figured out the entire TTPD set that will be added based on an Instagram post by Pandora. The streaming station posted a "What song are you listening to next from The Tortured Poets Department?" graphic, specifically naming "Fortnight," "The Alchemy," "But Daddy I Love Him" "Down Bad" and "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart." Swift's official fan account, Taylor Nation, reshared the upload onto its Instagram Story page on Thursday.

One of Apple Music's Swift-themed playlists, aptly titled "Taylor Swift Essentials," has since been updated to include "Fortnight" and "Down Bad," which other fans think further tease setlist plans. Apple's official Eras "Setlist" playlist, however, has not been updated to include any TTPD hits.

Swift kicked off her Eras Tour in March 2023, traversing the United States and Central America to perform her sold-out show before beginning the international leg. Following overseas shows in Japan, Australia and Singapore earlier this year, Swift has currently been on a month long hiatus.

The Grammy winner's next show is in Paris on Thursday, May 9, but she has not publicly revealed if or how the set list is changing to accommodate TTPD . It is also possible that the newly released tracks could pop up during her acoustic "surprise song" section .

Screen Rant

Will taylor swift add the tortured poets department to the eras tour.

Taylor Swift is gearing up for her big return to the Eras Tour following her months-long break and the release of The Tortured Poets Department.

  • Taylor Swift seems to be considering adding songs from "The Tortured Poets Department" to her Eras Tour.
  • Fans speculate that one of Swift's YouTube Shorts displays new choreography and "The Tortured Poets Department" logo.
  • Potential new songs like "Fortnight" or "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart" could fit into the extended Eras Tour lineup.

Taylor Swift 's global acclaim somehow keeps growing with each release, and with her latest record-breaking album, The Tortured Poets Department , many wonder if the singer will capitalize on its success and add any of its songs to the Eras Tour . The Eras Tour, Swift's sixth concert tour, features the artist performing 44 songs from nine of her albums in the span of three and a half hours. Swift embarked on the Eras Tour in March 2023 and will play her final show in December 2024 (unless she decides to add more dates).

Taylor Swift's last concert was on March 9, 2024, in Singapore, and she will resume the Eras Tour with her May 9th show in Paris.

After the Eras Tour became the highest-grossing tour ever, Swift released a concert film documenting the record-breaking experience in theaters and on Disney+. Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour became the highest-grossing concert film of all time, which didn't come as a shock to many, given Swift's recent string of achievements. Now that her eleventh studio album is also making waves following its debut on April 19, 2024, perhaps Swift will combine the two powers and add songs from The Tortured Poets Department to her setlist.

Taylor Swift Has Subtly Teased Adding The Tortured Poets Department To The Eras Tour Setlist

Swift's youtube short seemingly has hidden clues.

Taylor Swift is notorious for using Easter eggs and other clues to hint towards her future endeavors, and one of the singer's YouTube Shorts that she released following the debut of The Tortured Poets Department seemingly teases the album's addition to the Eras Tour setlist. The 15-second video includes footage from Eras Tour rehearsals, and some of Swift's choreography in the YouTube Short seemingly doesn't match up with any of the moves audiences had previously seen during the concert. The new choreography certainly implies Swift is adding new songs to the Eras Tour.

Additionally, eagle-eyed fans pointed out that one of the clips in the video shows Swift in front of a railing that appears to have The Tortured Poets Department 's "TTPD" logo on it. Of course, Swift's body covers most of it, so, one cannot confirm that it says "TTPD" until the next Eras Tour show. Even though the video is in grayscale, some also believe Swift is wielding a white microphone (she has yet to use) during some of the clips. Each Taylor Swift album has a color associated with it, and The Tortured Poets Department 's is white.

Taylor Swift's New Album Surprises Mean A Sequel To Her 4-Year-Old Disney Movie Has To Be Coming

Why adding the tortured poets department to the eras tour would make sense, the tortured poets department is a new era.

Typically, when an artist releases a new album, they go on a tour to promote said album, but Taylor Swift isn't a typical artist and the Eras Tour is not a run-of-the-mill tour. Each show features nine of Swift's different "eras," aka her albums. It starts with Lover and ends with Midnights , and it only makes sense if The Tortured Poets Department , Swift's new "era," has a place on the setlist following its release on April 19. So, fans shouldn't be shocked if and when a handful of songs from The Tortured Poets Department are added to the Eras Tour .

Which The Tortured Poets Department Songs Are Most Likely To Be Added To The Eras Tour?

Swift's new album has many songs that would fit into the eras tour.

The Tortured Poets Department (including tracks from Taylor Swift's The Anthology surprise addition to the album) features 31 songs, with "Fortnight," featuring Post Malone, serving as the record's first single. Consequently, if Swift is including songs from The Tortured Poets Department in her upcoming Eras Tour shows, "Fortnight" is all but a guarantee on the setlist (even if Post Malone will not be performing at every concert). "Down Bad," "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart," "The Tortured Poets Department," and "So, Long London" also have a good chance of making the cut.

If Swift cut some of the already-established songs from the Eras Tour, The Tortured Poets Department could find a place in the concert.

The aforementioned tracks are performing the best on the charts (even though all The Tortured Poets Department 's songs are doing exceptionally well), so, it would make sense to add them. Several of Swift's Track 5's are already on the setlist — "The Archer" from Lover , "Tolerate It" from Evermore , "Delicate" from Reputation , "All Too Well" from Red , and "My Tears Ricochet" from Folklore — so, "So Long, London" would be another obvious addition. Meanwhile, "Down Bad" and "The Tortured Poets Department" would sound good in a stadium setting, and "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart" references Swift's experience with the Eras Tour.

There Is Only 1 Thing Missing From Taylor Swift's Career After The Eras Tour Movie's Success

The problem with taylor swift adding the tortured poets department songs to the eras tour, the eras tour is already so long.

While adding songs from The Tortured Poets Department to the Eras Tour would be amazing, it would also be difficult to pull off. Taylor Swift already performs 44 songs in one show, bumping the concert's time to almost three and a half hours, and it would be unfeasible for her to stretch it out to four hours. Swift may seem like Superwoman onstage, but singing and dancing for four hours (a few nights in a row) would tire just about everyone. The artist even cut her debut album from the Era Tour's setlist because its inclusion would make the concert too long.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour will return to the United States in late 2024 as the singer-songwriter added shows in Miami, New Orleans, and Indianapolis (places she didn't go to during her first U.S. run).

However, if Swift cut some of the already-established songs from the Eras Tour, The Tortured Poets Department could find a place in the concert. The Folklore and Midnights sets have seven songs each, some of which could be taken off the setlist (even though they would be greatly missed). Meanwhile, Lover , Evermore , and 1989 's sets could also be condensed to accommodate the artist's eleventh studio album. Perhaps Taylor Swift will wait to show off her songs from The Tortured Poets Department on a different tour, but it would make the most sense if she performed some during the Eras Tour.

Fans theorize that Taylor Swift is changing her Eras Tour setlist to include songs from her new album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”

Swift shared a black-and-white video collage of her practicing for the upcoming leg of her tour and added her new single, “Fortnight,” in the background to YouTube Shorts on Thursday.

The Grammy winner, 34, included several snippets of her wearing different athleisure outfits while holding a microphone, singing and dancing on different parts of the stage.

The “Cruel Summer” songstress even featured a snap of her playing her acoustic guitar and sitting at her signature mossy piano.

However, some eagle-eyed fans noticed a few differences in some of the clips from what she’s done in her past shows –– such as her background dancers wearing black top hats and canes.

Swift also appeared to be leaning on a silver pole that seemed to have a white “TTPD” sign hanging on the side of it. Fans additionally pointed out her white guitar and matching microphone.

Swift has not released the setlist for her upcoming shows and she did not share the setlist before she kicked off the tour in Arizona in March 2023.

The “Shake it Off” songstress previously sang 44 songs on every show and swapped out two songs each concert that were acoustic “surprise songs” not included in the same setlist.

After Paris, Swift will hit several European countries, including Sweden, Spain and Portugal, before wrapping up in London in August.

Taylor Swift Is Not Attending the 2024 Met Gala to Focus on European Tour Dates

Swift kicks off her Europe tour in Paris on May 9

Melody Chiu is an Executive Editor at PEOPLE overseeing music, events and emerging content. She has been with the brand since 2009, editing, writing and reporting across all entertainment verticals. She has written cover stories on Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Melissa McCarthy, Blake Shelton, Jordan Turpin and Sandra Oh. The Los Angeles native graduated from the University of Southern California and has appeared on Extra! , The Talk, Access Hollywood and Good Morning America .

Taylor Swift is skipping the 2024 Met Gala , PEOPLE can confirm.

Despite reports that she would be attending , the singer, who just dropped her Tortured Poets Department album on April 19, is sitting out fashion's biggest night. Instead, she'll be focusing on rehearsals and tour prep ahead of her Eras Tour dates picking back up on May 9 in Paris before traveling all over Europe during the spring and summer.

The Met Gala, which always takes place on the first Monday in May, will be held on May 6, which would have been a tight squeeze ahead of the tour for Swift, 34.

Emma McIntyre/TAS23/Getty

TMZ previously reported that Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, would not be attending the Met Gala this year.

Swift has already attended the prestigious night six times (her most recent appearance was in 2016) while Kelce has yet to make his debut at the prestigious event.

The Grammy winner has had a huge couple of weeks, following the release of The Tortured Poets Department as she prepares to head back out on tour. She has taken over the Billboard chart (again!), has seen her album rack up 1 billion Spotify streams in a week and emotionally shared glowing reviews for her work .

No big deal, right?

John Shearer/Getty

While there’s going to be a blank space with Swift absent, the Met Gala is sure to bring out all the heavy hitters in fashion.

This year’s theme is centered on the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit, which will feature approximately 250 items — including 15 significant pieces such as an 1877 Charles Frederick Worth silk satin ball gown — that span over 400 years of history. “It is very much an ode to nature and the emotional poetics of fashion,” said Andrew Bolton, Wendy Yu Curator in Charge of the Costume Institute.

Expectedly, the dress code is themed “The Garden of Time” and is inspired by J.G. Ballard’s 1962 short story of the same name. The story follows a count and countess living “in their utopia of leisure, art, and beauty,” as noted by Vogue , who predicts that stars will show up in ensembles paying homage to florals, music and time.

John Lamparski/Getty

Zendaya , Jennifer Lopez , Chris Hemsworth and Bad Bunny will lead the pack as the four co-chairs of the night. Despite the Met Gala being a few weeks away, some of them have yet to finalize their looks (who can blame them, it’s a lot of pressure).

The Challengers actress, an already five-time attendee (her insane Cinderella transformations on the famous steps is simply unforgettable) told Vanity Fair recently that she still doesn’t “really know” what she’s wearing, but she has “ideas.”

Meanwhile, the This is Me…Now singer is still ruminating over a few potentials. “I have a few different sketches. I’m still deciding,” Lopez told Vogue this week. “I’m also one of those people who chooses at the last minute. Like, I like choices, and then I go, ‘Okay, this is how I feel today,’ and then we try to kinda create some type of amazing look — ‘cause that is the night for looks!”

Cheapest destinations to see Taylor Swift concerts from 'Eras Tour' abroad

Are you a Florida Swiftie with “Eras Tour” FOMO?

It’s definitely too late to find a ticket to Taylor Swift’s October concerts in Miami for less than $2,000.

But you can see an “Eras Tour” show in Warsaw, Poland, on Aug. 1, 2024, for about $500 cheaper than the cheapest concert ticket for a Miami show in October (including a roundtrip plane ticket to Poland, from Miami ).

Travel website Islands.com just released a study on the cheapest overseas destinations for seeing Miss Americana on the European leg of her tour.

To calculate the cheapest overseas shows on Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” this summer, Islands.com aggregated data on each city to find the average most affordable concert tickets, the average cost for two days of spending on hotel rooms, meals, drinks and transportation in each city and each city's safety score.

Here’s the Islands.com list of the cheapest shows on the next leg of Taylor Swift’s tour and how much the cheapest plane tickets from Florida to the cheapest European concert are.

Does “The Eras Tour” come to Europe?

Yes! After a wildly successful first run of “The Eras Tour” in the U.S. in 2023, Taylor Swift extended her tour to an international one and will start performing in Europe this summer before returning for more U.S. shows in the fall.

Here’s Islands.com’s list of the Top 10 cheapest places to see Taylor Swift in Europe this summer, including two days’ worth of hotel, food, drink and transportation costs for each city:

  • Warsaw, Poland: $443 cheapest concert ticket price, $712 total lowest average cost

Does Taylor Swift perform in Poland?

Yes! Taylor Swift will be performing for three nights in Warsaw, from Thursday, Aug. 1, through Saturday, Aug. 3.

The cheapest ticket to see Taylor Swift perform in Warsaw, Poland in August is about $1,500 cheaper than the cheapest ticket to catch one of her Miami shows in October.

As of April, via Google Flights, you can buy a roundtrip plane ticket from Miami to Warsaw (with two layovers) for around $800 .

Add that $800 plane ticket to the around $500 it will cost for a concert ticket and the extra $200 to $300 you’ll spend in two days of visiting Warsaw, and the grand total comes out to a maximum of around $1,600, which is still $400 cheaper than the cheapest ticket to a Miami show.

Travis Kelce auctioned 4 tickets for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour — and made $80,000

  • Travis Kelce auctioned off four Taylor Swift Eras Tour tickets for $80,000 at a charity event.
  • The auction took place at Patrick Mahomes' 15 and Mahomies Foundation Golf Classic gala.
  • In 2023, Swift's Eras Tour contributed significantly to her estimated earnings of $1.1 billion.

Insider Today

Travis Kelce sold four tickets to Taylor Swift's Eras Tour for $80,000 at a charity auction hosted by Patrick Mahomes.

Kelce and Swift attended the auction at The 15 and Mahomies Foundation Golf Classic gala in Las Vegas on Saturday, which raised money for health, wellness, and community resources that impact the lives of children.

Swift seemingly decided to auction off the tickets spontaneously, as they weren't included in the docket.

"I think, um, I was just talking to my significant other, and uh, we might have one other auction item that wasn't on the docket," Kelce said in a video posted to TikTok , cited by People .

"Has anybody heard of the Eras tour?" he said. The crowd cheered in response.

Kelce went on to say they had four tickets for the Eras Tour's US dates in New Orleans, Miami, Oregon, and Minneapolis later this year.

Harry Santa-Olalla, the auctioneer, confirmed in an Instagram post that the tickets sold for $80,000.

Santa-Olalla also documented the moment Kelce "convinced" Swift to auction the four tickets in an Instagram Story, according to People.

Several videos circulating on social media showed Swift and Kelce entering the event , and later, Swift was filmed waving a red napkin as the tickets were auctioned.

Bloomberg estimated that Swift earned $1.1 billion in 2023, largely due to the success of the Eras Tour.

An analysis by research company QuestionPro, cited by a Business Insider report , found that the average Swiftie spent $1,300 to head to the Eras Tour in 2023.

Some fans who spoke to BI's Juliana Kaplan admitted to spending up to $20,000 on expenses relating to Swift's tour, including flights, accommodation, costumes, and tickets.

Last year, data from the research company QuestionPro provided exclusively to CNN estimated Swift's tour will gross $2.2 billion in North American ticket sales, and that is before the resale market.
