The Interrupters Announce North American Co-Headline Tour with Frank Turner for 2023
Tickets On-Sale Friday, Dec. 16 at 10 AM Local
“an interrupters show is both a raucous affair and a communal one—a mosh pit with fists in the air one minute, hundreds of voices joyfully singing and smiling in unison the next.” – entertainment weekly, “[the interrupters] energetic, sauna-hot live shows have felt more like family gatherings than gigs” — kerrang, “who better than frank turner to underscore the imminent joy of reconnecting with others generally, this sort of earnestness can be wearying, but turner succeeds because he sounds like he’s just stomped out of a stuffy meeting to go yell on a street corner, frantic with euphoria.” — the new york times.
On the verge of wrapping their massively successful summer/fall tour dates, The Interrupters have announced a tour, produced by Live Nation, that will kick off on April 20, 2023 in Portland, OR running through June 3 in Anaheim, CA. Frank Turner will co-headline on select dates throughout the tour with additional special guests joining in every city.
Tickets will be available here on Friday, Dec. 16 at 10 AM local time
“With the recent release of our fourth album In The Wild , we are so excited to get back out on the road and celebrate live music across the U.S. and Canada with the incredibly talented Frank Turner and so many of our amazing friends,” The Interrupters share. “We are honored to have Hepcat, Laura Jane Grace, Chuck Regan, Bedouin Soundclash, The Skints, The Bandulus, and Left Alone on select dates with us. We can’t wait to see you all! This is gonna be a party!!”
“After doing 50 states in 50 days last summer, I was wondering how you follow that, in terms of touring the USA…” Frank Turner shares. “And now I know – team up with one of the best punk bands out there. I’m really excited to share a stage with The Interrupters , it feels like a meeting of minds and music. I can’t wait to hit the road.”
The Interrupters released their fourth studio album In The Wild this past summer, which has been regarded as “the best songs the Interrupters have ever written…beyond even the incredible candor is an ambitious musicality” ( Alternative Press ). Along with their 2023 tour announcement, the band has also dropped a stripped-back, acoustic rendition of their song “ Raised By Wolves ,” which they performed live at the KROQ DTS Sound Space earlier this year. This past weekend saw the band performing at KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas alongside The Black Keys, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Imagine Dragons at Los Angeles’ The Kia Forum.

About The Interrupters:
Formed in 2011, The Interrupters came together when the Bivona brothers—guitarist Kevin Bivona, bassist Justin Bivona, and drummer Jesse Bivona—found themselves on various bills with Aimee (Interrupter) as a solo artist. Upon bonding over musical tastes, the four formed The Interrupters and delivered their self-titled debut in 2014 . The Interrupters have shared stages with bands such as Rancid, blink-182, Green Day, Bad Religion, and many other stalwarts of the punk scene solidifying the band’s status as a dynamic force. The band released their fourth studio album In The Wild in August 2022.
About Frank Turner:
Frank Turner is one of the UK’s most successful artists. He’s released 9 studio albums in his 17-year solo career, the most recent of which, FTHC (Feb. 2022) became his first #1 hit on the UK Official Album Chart. His previous four albums have all peaked at #2 or #3 in the chart. Having sold over a million albums worldwide, he has scored three gold-certified albums and one silver status. He has just completed the ambitious 50 States in 50 Days tour – the first non-US citizen to do so and his award-winning 4 day festival, Lost Evenings, just concluded in Berlin.

Excellent performance from start to finish from these guys, would 100% recommend and would definitely see again! Support acts a little hit and miss for my taste (and the wrong way round- buster Shuffle were far better than the skints).
Merch a bit over priced but that seems to be a theme these days, good selection though.

The Interrupters were absolutely amazing and I’m so happy that I was able to go. The set was amazing, their performance was amazing, and the interaction that they had with the audience was so good. The crowd got a little crazy but that’s obviously expected. Also the opening bands were also very good and I really enjoyed both of them. Overall it was a great experience and it was a night filled with unforgettable moments.
From the first act, Sharp Shock, through Skinny Lister & on to the Interrupters themselves, this was a high energy fun-filled evening! I confess to being unaware of the two support bands, but I have been checking them out since the show... The Interrupters though... they are one hell of a band, great music & a fantastic presence on stage, really feeding off of the crowd. Respect to the security team too, they did an excellent job keeping everyone safe without stamping on the fun. A great night out...

The Interrupters Return With ‘In the Mirror,’ Announce ‘In the Wild’ Album
After a 2021 that saw them providing support on the "Hella Mega" tour, The Interrupters are ramping up to a new album in 2022. The band has just dropped the ska-tinged new single "In the Mirror" and also announced that the track will be featured on their forthcoming fourth studio album, In the Wild .
"We are SO EXCITED to announce our 4th full length album In the Wild will be out Aug. 5 on Hellcat Records," stated the group. "Our first single 'In The Mirror' is available on all streaming platforms and the music video, directed by the legendary Kevin Kerslake, is up now on our YouTube channel!"
"We put SO MUCH LOVE into this album. Produced by our very own Kevin Bivona, this album takes you on a journey throughout Aimee’s life and every song is deeply personal," continue the group. "We recorded almost the entire record in our home studio during the lockdown. Humbled and honored to have features from Tim Timebomb, Rhoda Dakar, Alex & Greg from Hepcat and The Skints on this album. We are so grateful to be able to share it with you all. We can’t wait!" The band also revealed that they will release a new song every month until the Aug. 5 release.
The track will definitely give you some extra pep as Aimee Interrupter sings about coming to terms with herself after years of finding reasons to stress. Get a closer look at the lyrics below and check out the song and Kevin Kerslake-directed video in the player below.
Pre-orders for In the Wild can now be taken at this location . Earlier this year, the band announced plans for a summer co-headlining tour with Flogging Molly . The trek gets underway in June and you can find more info here .
The Interrupters, "In the Mirror" Lyrics
No matter how far I run, I always end up back here No matter how far I go, I always end up back here Took me two years to write this song I wanted it perfect, no wrinkles in it Took me a long time to come clean To be honest, the truth’s so ugly Took me a long time to come home, I didn’t think you’d get me I had too much explaining. No matter how far I run, I always end up back here No matter how far I go, I always end up back here In the mirror, in the mirror, in the mirror, only in the mirror I always felt so out of place In a crowded room, I speak too soon Yeah I put a big smile on my face I can’t let them know it’s all for show, No Took me a long time to come home, I didn’t think you’d get me I had too much explaining No matter how far I run, I always end up back here No matter how far I go, I always end up back here In the mirror, in the mirror, in the mirror, only in the mirror I’m tired of running

The Interrupters: “I started singing as an act of rebellion – it made me feel like I could take my power back”
When lockdown hit and bands were forced to face a new reality, Aimee Interrupter was confronted with an old one. Reckoning with the trauma of her past, The Interrupters’ vocalist faced her demons head-on after years of turning away, coming out the other side to create the most introspectively powerful album of their career. Trigger warning: Physical and emotional abuse.

Sometimes when you hear a new album you get so caught up with a couple of catchy tunes that you don’t realise the album is mostly filler. There’s plenty of them out there and while they might be fun for a while they never stand the test of time. In The Wild is not that kind of album. In fact, I think this is one that is going to continue growing on fans for a long time to come. It’s infectious, it’s clever, it’s insightful, and it reinforces something we’ve all known about The Interrupters for a long time – they can write the absolute fuck out of a chorus. If you’re unfamiliar with The Interrupters then imagine that you had Rancid , Dirty Heads , The Aggrolites , and Sublime all thrown in a centrifuge to remove their flaws and then distilled to perfection in fine oak to find the best possible sound. Okay, maybe that metaphor doesn’t exactly track but the point is that they’re really, really great and should get familiar fast.
The fourth album from the LA four-piece seems to be their most personal effort yet – the album seemingly drawing on Aimee Allen’ s (aka Aimee Interrupter) rough upbringing to find a somber but righteous tone. The album sets the tone immediately with the powerful opening track ‘Anything Was Better’ – a testament to the strength that can be found in taking charge of your life and following your passion. It’s also the first indicator that the band are all growing as songwriters – lyrically the song is gripping but more than that the band knows when to back off and where to attack. Guitarist Kevin Bivona really utilises the full spectrum with his sound – knowing when to back off and let the songs breathe but also when to come in hard. It accents the important parts of the songs without feeling over produced.
On previous albums, the band has utilised the insanely talented Tim Armstrong ( Rancid , Operation Ivy, and so on… you know who is) as producer, but this time the band moved to a home studio setup and had Kevin handling producer duties. The result speaks for itself – this might be their strongest album yet. The guitar tone is dialled perfectly, the drums and bass fill the room, and the songwriting is as good as you’ll get. I’m not sure who is responsible for the vocal hooks but they are absolutely perfect – the way that Aimee’s flow locks into a hook is just magical. This one will really get inside your head.
‘Raised by Wolves’ is the most affecting track on the album and it really reached me personally. Aimee had her father leave when she was very young and was forced into foster care through her childhood. It feels like the absence of her father forced Aimee to learn life’s lessons the hard way and find guidance in unconventional figures. I’ve recently become a father myself and this song in particular makes me think about the legacy I will leave for my child. Will I make the same mistakes my parents made? Will I fail her? Will she have to go it on her own because I’m not cut out for it? I guess I’m saying stuff like this hits different now. And holy shit does it hit hard. I love music that provokes introspection and the entire album really reaches me.
All that aside I do wonder if ‘ Wolves ’ is a vague reference to Rancid. Their …And Out Come the Wolves album is one of the biggest punk albums of all time and given the relationship between The Interrupters and Rancid’ s Tim Armstrong (who appears on this album) it feels like a subtle nod at the very least.
In The Wild is great in that it never feels complacent. The Interrupters are at a point in the career where they could probably just retread old ground and put out a passable album but while In The Wild is distinctively an Interrupters album it also flirts with every part of their influence – genre-hopping from the dancehall-inspired ‘As We Live’ to doo-wop before mellowing out with the final haunting track, ‘Alien’ . Overall, this eclectic mix of genres ties into the overall energy of the album.
It’s early days but I think this might be my favourite Interrupters album. I thought 2019’s Fight The Good Fight would be pretty tough to top – it’s an incredibly solid album – but In The Wild is just that great. Get out there and give it a spin, this one is worth your time.
