40th Annual Tour de Paris

The Tour de Paris began in 1984 with just a few enthusiastic cyclists. Since then, it has evolved into a community favorite that now boasts over 1,700 cyclists and volunteers.
Official Start will take place at 8 am
Packet Pick-up and after ride activities will be held at:

REGISTRATION is now OPEN!
- Bikes must be in good working order.
- Helmets are required anytime you are on the bicycle.
- Riders are encouraged to carry their own water bottle, pumps, tubes and tools. Water is available at start / finish and all Rest Stops.
- Riders are responsible for their own repairs.
Route Information
The Tour de Paris features multiple routes that are tailored to riders of all skill levels. These include the 14 & 24 mile off-road on the Northeast Texas Trail and the 22, 35, 62, 68, and 80-mile county routes. Maps for each route can be viewed below.

Shirts are not included but may be purchased for $10 as an add-on item during registration. Shirts must be ordered by June 2.

Tour de Paris rides on for its 36th year
The Tour de Paris has been rolling through downtown Paris for 35 years, and its 36th rallies up for Sept. 26 at 8:30 a.m. Several cyclists have registered from Florida, Georgia, Missouri and more.
With more than 450 cyclists signed up for this weekend’s tour, more are expected to register before the Sept. 23 pre-registration deadline. This year’s race will not have a day-of registration; all registrations are required before the Sept. 23, midnight deadline.
This year’s tour is expected to be different from previous years due to COVID-19, as there will be no gathering at the Love Civic Center.
“Police officers and safety volunteers will be at the intersection at the start, and folks can start their ride at any time,” Lamar County Chamber Visitors Director Becky Semple said. “(Riders are) encouraged to be out on their chosen route by 8:30 a.m. Rest stops open at 7:30 a.m.”
This year’s tour is following safety guidelines and rest stops throughout the routes will serve individually packaged items and bottled drinks.
“Refreshments will be different, but appreciated,” Semple said. “We want everyone involved to be safe, so we will be social distancing and wearing masks.”
The tour will offer support from various community organizations such as SAG Support, EMS Reserves and the local Christian Motorcycle Association to ensure cyclists are cared for.
“Our support out on the routes is amazing,” Semple. “Our city and county first responders are in place to provide safety in town as well as out in the county.”
The after-race meal this year will be in a sack lunch, and there will be no meal prepared in the civic center as years past.
Pre-packet pick-up will be in Love Civic Center’s parking lot on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 6 to 7:30 a.m.

Area cyclist gear up for 38th annual Tour de Paris
The Tour de Paris is held each year on the 3rd Saturday in July, starting at 8 a.m. from the Love Civic Center in Paris, TX.

Pre-registration will end Friday , July 16, at noon.
Early packet pick-up , on-site registration , and spaghetti dinner will start on July 15 beginning at 4 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. at the Love Civic Center Pavilion . A spaghetti dinner will be served for $5 per person .
The day of Tour de Paris, Saturday , July 16 , packet pick-up, on-site registration, and the pancake breakfast will begin at 6 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. The pancake breakfast will be an additional $5 .

Requirements for bikers and bikes entering the Tour de Paris – bikes must be in good working order, helmets are required while on bicycles, riders are encouraged to carry their own water bottle, pumps, tubes and tools.
Water will be available at start and finish as well as all rest stops . Riders will be responsible for their own repairs .

Tour De Paris
The Annual Tour de Paris Bike Rally is happening this Saturday at 8:00 am. On Friday at 5:00 pm, there’s a $5 Spaghetti Dinner and registration at Love Civic Center.
