Trek Factory Racing is delighted to announce the Italian coffee brand Segafredo has committed to a three-year co-title sponsorship effective January 1, 2016, making Trek-Segafredo the newest name on the UCI WorldTour.

The partnership was officially presented in Treviso, Italy in the presence of Massimo Zanetti, President of the MZB group, Joe Vadeboncoeur, Vice President of Trek Bicycle and Luca Guercilena, General Manager of the team.

Classics specialist Fabian Cancellara, the team's Tour de France leader Bauke Mollema, and Italian sprinter Giacomo Nizzolo showcased the new Trek-Segafredo jersey, which remains true to the team’s identity since the inception of the team in 2014.

Massimo Zanetti: "When I was a child, my father took me to a Giro d’Italia stage. I saw Coppi and Bartali; Coppi with the pink jersey, Bartali with the tricolor jersey of the Italian champion. I was so impressed and fascinated that, from that time on, I always said to myself that sooner or later I would sponsor cycling. Today is that day, thanks to Trek, a great team composed of riders from Italy and from all over the world…It is a bit like we are at Segafredo! I really hope we are going to achieve important successes once again as often happened in the past in other sports such as Formula 1, where Segafredo became three times world champion with Rosberg, Lauda and Prost, not to mention the great friend Ayrton Senna who drove his F1 car for a long time with Segafredo on board."

In a strong collaboration of global brands, Segafredo Zanetti (Thailand) has joined hands with Trek Bicycle (Thailand) to create a designated corner to welcome consumers with Italian premium coffee Segafredo Zanetti at Probike bicycle shop, enabling cycling fans to taste the original Espresso from Italy while checking out all the bicycles and accessories.

Ms. Usapun Inteevoravong, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Boncafe (Thailand), paid a visit to Probike Sarasin branch to see the designated coffee corner by Segafredo Zanetti and enjoy tasting the Italian roasted coffee. She was warmly welcomeed by Mr. Nares Wisetwongsa, Chief Executive Officer of Probike Co., Ltd.

The move to SRAM puts Trek-Segafredo in conformity with Trek’s mountain bike teams, which have been using SRAM since the start of 2018. Both men's and women's road race teams will use SRAM's RED eTap drivetrains and HRD hydraulic disc brakes. 

"We are thrilled to have SRAM on board as the official drivetrain partner of both the Trek Segafredo men’s and women’s teams as of 2019,” said Matt Shriver, Trek-Segafredo's technical director.

“SRAM has a pedigree of racing that fits naturally with Trek-Segafredo’s 'best in class' product motto. Their SRAM RED eTAP wireless group and hydraulic disc brakes are a step forward for our teams. Their passion for racing shows through their commitment to deliver great service to our athletes."

As well as announcing their partnership with SRAM, the team has published photos of the bikes for their new women’s team. The team will be riding on almost entirely white bikes, with blue stripe accents to match the jerseys that they revealed at the beginning of November. The men's team will ride in red and black colours.

The women's blue stripe accent will sit inside the Trek decals on the down tube, inside the fork legs and on the entirety of the seatpost. Trek Factory Racing is also written across the side of the top tube. As with the men’s, the bikes will use Bontrager wheels, saddles and finishing kit, plus the SRAM groupset.

Each of the riders were given the opportunity to select their preferred model between the Emonda and Madone with the whole team picking the Madone aero frameset as their bike of choice.
