We’re looking for an amazing Business Development Manager, National and Strategic Accounts, which will be remote based. The candidate must reside in the Southeast part of the US ideally in Florida. You’ll be responsible for managing the business development (sales) of a defined list of travel agency accounts and consortia’s throughout North America. The objective is to achieve sales goals for Cunard Line in alignment with the company's business objectives and Cultural Essentials.  As the Sales Cunard National Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with key national accounts within the travel industry. Your primary goal will be to drive sales and revenue for Cunard Line, through effective account management strategies and in depth understanding of the Cunard products. This role requires a strong understanding of the travel industry, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders.   • Account Management:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key national accounts within the travel industry.
  • Act as the main point of contact for designated accounts, addressing inquiries, providing support, and resolving issues promptly.
  • Implement strategies to maximize sales and revenue opportunities with each account.
  • Sales Development:
  • Create and execute sales plans tailored to each national account based on their business model to achieve revenue targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and pursue strategies to expand Cunard's market share.
  • Collaborate with marketing and promotional teams to develop initiatives to drive sales and increase brand awareness.
  • Market Analysis and Reporting:
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify opportunities.
  • Analyze reports regularly outlining sales performance, market insights, and account activities for review with accounts and management.
  • Training and Support:
  • Provide training and support to national accounts on Cunard's products, services, and sales tools.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to address account-specific needs and requirements.
  • Event Participation:
  • Represent Cunard Line at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote brand visibility and networking opportunities.
  • Participation in ship inspections and familiarization sailings– usually includes weekends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications
  • 3 years of business to business (B2B) sales experience. 
  • Preferred 5 years of business to business (B2B) sales experience in the travel industry
  • Strong in-person and virtual presentation skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills- Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong consultative selling skills
  • Solid computer literacy
  • Salesforce or other similar CRM knowledge
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and prioritize workload
  • Adaptable to change
  • Perseverance in working with agency decision-makers
  • Works well in a team 
  • Willingness to take on ad-hoc projects 
  • Self-directed and ability to work independently
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ability to travel up to 25-50% of time
  • *Preferred locations for hire:  Florida or Southeast US.

  • Base Salary Range: $ 83,200.00 to $ 112,300.00. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.

  With more than 12 years of experience in operating businesses, Stasinopoulos brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role. He has worked with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), non-profit organizations and multinational corporations.

Prof. Dr. Alexis Papathanassis studied at the University of Bath and the London School of Economics (UK). He completed his PhD in Economic Sciences at the Leibniz University (Hanover) in Germany.  Prior to joining fulltime academia, Alexis pursued a career at TUI. Upon his departure from the group as a business development manager with TUI Infotec, Alexis had already participated and successfully led various systems integration projects in six TUI subsidiaries around Europe. Since 2005, Alexis Papathanassis is a Professor for Cruise Management and e-Tourism at the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences. He currently acts as: Dean of the Faculty of Business Management & Services, Co-Director of the Institute for Maritime Tourism and Chairman of the Cruise Research Society.  He is also visiting Professor at the Bremen University of Applied Sciences and the Russian Academy of Foreign Trade, and a member of the German Tourism Research Society.  He also works regularly as a consultant for a number of tour operators and cruise companies.  Alexis’ publication activity mainly focuses on the cruise sector and comprises over 60 contributions in textbooks, peer-reviewed scientific journals and conferences
