Wildlife Photography Challenge is an exclusive side mission for Franklin in the enhanced version of Grand Theft Auto V  for players returning from the PS3 or Xbox 360 edition. Completing it rewards the player with the Kraken submersible.

Description [ ]

After completing the first Strangers and Freaks mission for Beverly , you will receive a text message saying he's signed you up for the Wildlife Photography Challenge. At the same time, an email from the LS Tourist Board will arrive, giving you details. The animals must be photographed up close using Snapmatic on the phone, and must be centered in the frame, with no obstructions. Once photographed correctly, a prompt will appear to email the photo to the LS Tourism Board, whose contact info appears in Franklin's phone. If the animal being photographed is fleeing, stunning it with the Stun Gun can prove useful, though smaller animals like hens may be killed instantly.

There are a total of 20 animals to photograph. Players can track their progress under the General section of the Stats menu, where it is listed under "Wildlife photographs".

You've been nominated to take part in Southern San Andreas' premier amateur photography competition in the wildlife sector. You'll join hundreds of other young, talented hopefuls in getting heat stroke, poison ivy poisoning and, most importantly, giving your work away for free. For the first young photographer to document the whole array of Southern San Andreas' fauna - a life of underwater adventure and photography awaits.

Submissions are subject to the following rules:

• Only photograph submissions of living animals will be accepted
• Animals must be centered in the photograph.
• Photographs captured using camera filters or borders will not be eligible for submission
• Selfies are NOT eligible for submission
• All image rights are transferred to Tourist Board

Make your own chum, fill your glands with mountain lion pheromones, rub yourself in honey, and jack off in a bear pit. Do whatever it takes to get the shot of your life. And try not to get eaten, unless you've uploaded first. We can't wait to see (and steal) all your submissions.

LS Tourist Info

Once all the animals have been photographed, Franklin will receive a text message from the Los Santos Tourism Board , saying that he has won the competition.

The Kraken Sub will now spawn at the Cape Catfish pier in the San Chianski Mountain Range , and can also be purchased and driven at a dock should the player own one. A cheat that is able to spawn it is also available.

Wildlife Photography is a set of Next-gen Collectibles in IGN's Grand Theft Auto 5 Walkthrough . This guide will the locations for all the Collectibles on the map. Check out more of IGN's GTA5 Walkthrough for info on Cheats , Easter Eggs , Strangers and Freaks and a lot more.

The Wildlife Photography Challenge is unlocked after completing the Paparazzo mission for Beverly. After the mission , Beverly sends Franklin a text message saying that he's entered him in an amateur wildlife photography contest.

The rules of the contest are as follows:

• Animals must be photographed alive
• Animal must be in the full frame
• Animal does NOT need to be looking at the camera
• Animal can be snapped from any angle
• Filters and borders are NOT allowed

Once the photo is snapped, use the SEND PHOTO(S) option and email the picture to the LS Tourist Board to complete the transaction.

Once all 20 animals have been snapped, the special Kraken Sub is unlocked for further underwater adventures.

The full list of animals include (in no particular order):

BORDER COLLIE

Chicken-hawk, mountain lion, west highland terrier.

There is a lone boar that spawns on the road just north of Trevor 's Airfield (and north of the train tracks). Stay on the train tracks to avoid scaring the boar and get within a good distance to line up the shot.

There is also a lone Boar at the end of the road near the SONAR DOCKS, eating the trash, be careful, do not get to close or he will run away.

The Border Collie can be found hanging around some of the houses in Paleto Bay . They can be found sitting on the front porch.

Cats tend to spawn in neighborhood/suburban areas. But there is one area in Vinewood where a single cat will always spawn everytime you go there. It is near a Monkey Mosaic (Mosaic #23 on the Monkey Mosaics IGN guide ).

The Chicken-Hawk can be found flying the skies over the Davis Quarry area of the Grand Senora Desert . Drive over to Omega 's house (the Spaceship Parts guy) and zoom the camera towards the birds in the sky.

Cows can be found at the cow farm just east of the O'Neill brothers farmhouse in Grapeseed .

Coyotes are scattered all over the Grand Senora Desert /Sandy Shores area. You can't miss these harmless pooches, so snap a pic of them!

Crows can be found flying all over Trevor 's airship at Sandy Shores.

These pelican-looking creatures can easily be found over by the Lago Zancudo marsh (directly south of Fort Zancudo ). You can zoom in and snap a photo of it from the top of the bridge without having to go drive down towards the marsh.

Deer and Elk can be found in any area that has lots foliage such as the mountainsides, hillsides and valleys. There are several hiking areas in the Vinewood Hills area where you'll find lots of deer and Elk, as well, though be aware that these animals have super-sensitive hearing and can spot you from a pretty far distance. Be ready to snap a picture as soon as you get near one!

Hens can be found in the Sandy Shores and Paleto Bay area. Some roam the streets and some in the backyards of certain houses. Look for a chicken coop at the backyards of the houses to find them.

The Husky dog can be found roaming behind the house just south of Peter Dreyfuss ' house in Vinewood Hills (the house is adjacent to a Stunt Jumps , also).

The mountain lion can appear randomly in places like Sandy Shores and Vinewood Hills but the best guaranteed place to find one of these kitty cats is over by the Mount Chiliad /Raton Canyon area (the same area where you do the Predator mission). Drive along the northern dirt road by Raton Canyon and the lion should spawn. Exit your vehicle (jump on the roof to avoid getting mauled) and then snap the photo.

The pig can be found over at the hog farm up by Great Chapparal (it's directly across from where the Rogue Altruists random event occurs).

The Poodle can be found roaming the rich areas of Burton/Rockwood Hills/West Vinewood.

The Pug can be found walking all over the Rockford Hills /Richman area. Navigate the streets around Michael 's house to eventually find one.

Rabbits can be found in the mountainside areas near Vinewood Hills. Any areas that have deer and Elk will also have rabbits hopping around.

The Retriever can usually found with their owners as they walk up the hiking paths in Vinewood Hills.

Aside from Chop , Rottweilers can be found within the Davis area within a 3-block radius from Franklin 's safehouse. They can usually be found hanging around with other Grove Street gang members.

Seagulls can be found flying around the piers and beaches. Scope out the piers in Del Perro and Paleto Bay to find them.

The Terrier is the toughest of all the dogs to find. Your best bet at finding one is to drive around the Rockford Hills area near Vangelico 's. If it doesn't appear, drive around the area in circles and check the Vangelico 's area until it finally does show up.

Congratulations, you've snapped all 20 animals! This unlocks a special Kraken submarine over at the San Chianski Mountains.

THE KRAKEN SUB

The Kraken submarine will be docked at the San Chianski Mountains (same place where the Monkey Business mission starts).

Approach the sub at the docks and get inside for some underwater exploration! This is probably the less costly way of getting a submarine without having to purchase the Sonar docks at Paleto Cove.

GTA Online animal locations for Wildlife Photography Challenge

A new daily challenge has come to Grand Theft Auto Online that requires players to snap pictures of animals throughout Los Santos and the surrounding wilderness.

By completing the daily “Shoot Animals Photography” challenge from the LS Tourist Board, GTA Online players can earn cash and other free rewards.

All GTA Online Animal Locations

While there are way more animals throughout Los Santos and Blaine County, there are 15 possible animals that you can get for your daily Wildlife Photography Challenge in GTA Online.

• Chicken Hawk
• Great Cormorant
• Mountain Lion

GTA Online Boar Locations

While boars aren’t the most common animals in GTA Online, they are some of the easiest to spot since they’re so big and they move so slowly. You’ll have to travel to the northern half of the map to find them. They spawn most commonly in Sandy Shores. You can find them elsewhere, but they’re easiest to find in Sandy Shores since there aren’t any places for them to hide.

GTA Online Cat Locations

Cats are some of the most common animals in GTA Online and you can find them anywhere in Los Santos. The best place to find a cat is in Strawberry, the neighborhood where Franklin lives. Stray cats are all over Strawberry and you can see them lounging on fences or sneaking around bushes throughout the neighborhood. All in all, you shouldn’t have any trouble finding one as long as you drive slowly through the city.

GTA Online Chicken Hawk Locations

Finding any of the required birds for the Shoot Animals Photography challenge is a pain, but Chicken Hawks are the easiest avians to locate. They live almost exclusively in the northern half of the map. To save yourself the headache, just climb Mount Chilliad and scout the skies for Chicken Hawks up there. You can also drive through Sandy Shores since that’s a popular spawn location for them.

GTA Online Cow Locations

Cows aren’t common in GTA Online, but they’re super easy to find since they only spawn on farms in a handful of spots. There’s a farm just north of Sandy Shores with a bunch of cows, and you can also find a smaller farm in Vinewood Hills just outside of Los Santos across the highway from Martin Madrazo’s compound.

GTA Online Coyote Locations

Coyotes can be found basically anywhere outside of Los Santos in GTA Online. You’ll likely find a few while driving along the highway that leads to Sandy Shores and Paleto Bay, but the absolute best place to find them is Sandy Shores itself. There’s always one or two stalking the small town’s streets, and their cries make them very easy to find from afar.

GTA Online Deer Locations

Deer are super easy to find in GTA Online. They tend to jump in front of your car when you’re driving and they’re also some of the first animals you’ll see when you go for a hike in the northern wilderness. Deer tend to spawn quite frequently on the hiking trails along the western highway leading to Paleto Bay, and you’re just about guaranteed to find a few if you follow the trail that begins at the LS Tourist Board.

GTA Online Great Cormorant Locations

These birds are the bane of my existence. Great Cormorants are very hard to find and only appear in a handful of very specific locations in GTA Online. A bunch of guides will tell you to search the Grand Senora Desert to find them, but that’s not the best spot. You’re basically guaranteed to find Great Cormorants flying in the air to the west of Martin Madrazo’s compound.

To the west of Madrazo’s compound, there are a few hills where Great Cormorants like to flock. I typically have the best luck finding them on the hills overlooking the prison. If that doesn’t work, then they also spawn on the hills just east of the LS Tourist Board, but not as frequently.

GTA Online Hen Locations

Hens don’t have too many spawn locations in GTA Online, but like most other livestock, they can be found at farms across the map. There are a handful of hens located in Paleto Bay at the northern edge of the map, and a small farm in Sandy Shores also has a few. There are even hens in Los Santos at a select few houses in Strawberry if you check their backyards.

GTA Online Mountain Lion Locations

Mountain lions are very easy to find in GTA Online since they tend to attack you before you can see them. They can be found anywhere on the map, but the best places to find them are the hiking trails near the LS Tourist Board, the highway leading east out of Los Santos, and the eastern highway near Sandy Shores.

Getting a picture of them can be tricky since they’re so aggressive, but remember that you can snap pictures from the safety of your car. Also, you can jump onto the roof of your car and they won’t be able to attack you if it’s large enough.

GTA Online Pig Locations

To find pigs in GTA Online, just visit the same places where you’d find cows and hens. There are two major pig farms in GTA Online. The first is located along the highway leading north out of Los Santos to the west of Madrazo’s compound. The second is across the bay from Sandy Shores.

GTA Online Poodle Locations

Poodles only have one spawn location in GTA Online, but they always spawn with a person walking them. They appear in Rockford Hills, the wealthy neighborhood on the northern side of Los Santos where Michael lives. To find a poodle, just slowly cruise through the neighborhood and keep an eye on the sidewalks.

GTA Online Pug Locations

Like poodles, pugs are also found in Rockford Hills in GTA Online. The same principle applies here. Pugs will always have someone walking them, so check every NPC on the sidewalks for a canine companion. They can be hard to spot since they’re so small, so drive slowly.

GTA Online Rabbit Locations

Rabbits are by far the most common animal in GTA Online. You shouldn’t have any trouble finding one. Rabbits spawn most commonly at transitional areas that lead into the wilderness, so they show up a lot at the beginning of trails right off the highway. Snapping a picture of them can be difficult, so walk slowly and take the photo before you spook them.

GTA Online Seagull Locations

Seagulls are the easiest birds to find in GTA Online since they’re guaranteed to show up in their respective spawn locations. As you’d expect, seagulls live along the coast. The absolute best place to find them is Vespucci Beach on the western coast of Los Santos, but you can also find them along the highway that wraps around the north of the map.

GTA Online Shoot Animals Photography Rewards

Each day, you can visit the LS Tourist Board to receive three new animal photography targets. Each successful photo that you snap will reward you with $20,000. After taking your first picture, the Park Ranger vehicle will be unlocked at Warstock Cache & Carry. Taking 10 photos will unlock the trade price for the Park Ranger. Once you take three pictures, you’ll unlock the special Zoophilist outfit for free.

Unfortunately, this activity is only available on the next-gen PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Grand Theft Auto Online since wildlife isn’t available on other platforms, not even PC. Even though some platforms missed out on animals, all platforms did receive the recent Chop Shop update, though. If you’re interested, you can purchase your own Salvage Yard and take on daring vehicle robberies with returning character Yusuf Amir.

All of the animal locations in GTA Online so you can complete Shoot Animals Photography challenges for the LS Tourist Board

The GTA Online animal locations have been generating a lot of interest, as they're now required for the Shoot Animals Photography challenge and associated daily collectibles that are requested by the LS Tourist Board. These are closely related to the GTA 5 Wildlife Photography Challenge from the single player story, with three different animals selected at random as your targets each day, which you then need to track down and take photos of to complete your checklist. Photograph at least one animal and the Declasse Park Ranger vehicle will be unlocked for purchase from Warstock Cache & Carry, and the first time you submit all three photo assignments in a daily set you'll also unlock the Ace Ventura-inspired The Zoophilist outfit to wear.

Animals arrived in Los Santos and Blaine County as part of the GTA Online Chop Shop update , though they are exclusive to PS5 and Xbox Series so only players on those formats can take on the associated challenges. If you want to find animals in GTA Online to complete Shoot Animals Photography challenges, then here's where you need to look.

GTA Online animal locations map

I have found success looking for animals in GTA Online at the marked locations above, though as the spawns are random these are not guaranteed and there are multiple other locations where they could appear:

• Chicken-Hawk
• Great Cormorant
• Mountain Lion

These correspond with the locations used in the Wildlife Photography Challenge during the single player story, though not all dog breeds are included online.

For some more general guidance, you're most likely to find domesticated animals around the city or suburbs, with dogs tending to be in back yards or walked down the streets. When tracking wild animals, try to keep your distance and use the zoom on your camera, otherwise you risk scaring them off or being attacked – if you're having trouble seeing them, a weapon with a thermal scope may help pick them out from the undergrowth. If necessary, leave an area completely then return to improve the chances of the right animal spawning.

How to complete Shoot Animals photography assignments for the LS Tourist Board

Each day, there are three GTA Online animals that the LS Tourist Board want you to photograph, and only those will count towards the Shoot Animals Photography Daily Collectibles that can now be found through the Interaction Menu. To find out which animals they require, you can travel all the way to the physical LS Tourist Board marked towards the northwest corner your map and interact with it, but it's much easier to hover over the icon on the map then follow the Contact prompt which appears, which will then generate an email containing a checklist of the three animals you need to photograph.

Once you've visited one of the GTA Online animal locations and spotted your target, quickly activate the Snapmatic app on your phone (press up on the d-pad twice in a row to go straight to it) then point it at the animal and take a photo. If you've successfully captured a wanted creature then the option to Send to LS Tourist Board will appear, and by following the prompt you'll submit your image and tick that animal off your daily list.

Shoot Animals photography rewards in GTA Online

For each successful photograph of GTA Online animals you submit to the LS Tourist Board you'll receive GTA$20,000 and 500 RP, with an additional GTA$40,000 bonus paid if you send all three photos in a daily set. After submitting one photo you'll unlock the Declasse Park Ranger for purchase from Warstock Cache & Carry, and once you've sent 10 photos you'll gain access to the discounted trade price for it. Finally, the first time you submit all three photos in a daily set you'll unlock The Zoophilist outfit pictured above, styled on Jim Carrey's appearance as Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, which you can access through your wardrobe by going through the Outfits > Outfits: Special options.

Are you wondering where the GTA Online Wildlife Photography locations are? How do you photograph these wild animals in Los Santos? This new daily challenge is now available in GTA Online. To complete it, you must track down animals and photograph them. While it sounds simple, it can prove to be rather difficult.

To complete this daily challenge, you will need to do a lot of searching. Luckily, we have already found these animal locations for you. Here are all the Wildlife Photography locations in GTA Online.

How to start the Wildlife Photography challenge in GTA Online

To start the Wildlife Photography challenge, you must visit the LS Tourist Board on the upper west side of the map. You can find this location by following the road that runs up the western side of the map.

The LS Tourist Board is marked by a camera symbol making it easy to spot. Once you reach this location, interact with the Tourist Board and you will be given three animals to track down. Today, we received the Deer, Mountain Lion, and Great Cormorant.

There are 20 different animals that you can find hidden around the GTA Online map. Let’s break down where each of these animals is located:

• Boar – Grand Senora Desert
• Border Collie – Vespucci Canals/Prosperity St.
• Cat – West Vinewood
• Chicken-Hawk – Grand Senora Desert
• Cormorant – Grand Senora Desert
• Cow – Grand Senora Desert

When it comes to tracking down these animals, keep in mind that domesticated animals like the Border Collie will be in the city while other animals like the Boar and Mountain Lion will be in the north around Blaine County and Mount Chilliad.

How to get the Park Ranger vehicle in GTA Online

The Park Ranger vehicle is obtained by completing one Wildlife Photo. This will unlock the ability to purchase the vehicle from the online retailer. If you want the trade price , you need to complete 10 Wildlife Photos. The trade price will knock about 30% off the price of the vehicle so it is worth it to track those animals down.

Get in close

The Wildlife Photography challenge can be a bit finnicky. When taking a picture of an animal, be sure to zoom in close enough to make it count. A good practice is to make the animal the main focus of the image.

Where to Find and How to Take Photos of All 20 Animals in Grand Theft Auto V

Those players who previously played GTA V on PS3 or Xbox 360, and now play on PS4, Xbox One or PC with their Social Club profile, can participate in the Wildlife Photography Challenge. After completing the mission of Beverly Felton “Paparazzo”, Franklin will receive a letter with the details.

Changes for Non-Returning Players

With the release of the Los Santos Tuners Update, this quest appears to be available to all players on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. There have been no official statements from the developers in this regard.

In total it’s required to take 20 photos. You need to take photos with your cellphone using the Snapmatic application. If the snapshot of the animal has turned out to be nice, an additional option will appear in the menu. You need to click “Square” on PS4, “X” on Xbox One or Space on PC, then select LS Tourist Board from the contact list and send them a photo. In response, a letter with a checklist will appear where the photographed animals are marked.

The appearance of animals is not always strictly predetermined, but certain regularities exist. Also, it should be borne in mind that when you driving fast, you can meet mainly wild animals, such as deer, rabbits, coyotes, etc. To meet, for example, dogs, it is necessary to walk leisurely on foot on territory where they appear.

Chicken-hawk, cormorant, crow  — can be found in a mountainous area. If you find one of the birds, most likely, you will find the other two in the same place. The requirements for a photo of a hawk are higher, it needs to be photographed larger than the other two birds.

Hen  — can be found in several places in the countryside and only during the daytime. In the screenshot — a farmhouse in the Grand Senora Desert. Next to it, you can usually also photograph a boar, as well as the birds mentioned above.

Seagull  — can be found near the ocean along the coastline.

Wild Animals

Boar  — can be found in wild places and in the countryside. Almost certainly will be at the farmhouse in Grand Senora Desert, where you can also take pictures of hen, cormorant, crow, and hawk.

Coyote  — in the desert area, you can often meet it at the side of the road. In this case, the coyote will always try to escape from Franklin, so you can shoot it from the stun gun and take a good photo while the animal recovers. Apparently, the coyote sustains an unlimited number of shots from the stun gun and doesn’t die. An alternative is to track down the coyote so that it doesn’t notice Franklin and take a picture from a long distance.

Deer  — found in a wooded area, quickly escapes upon detection Franklin. To take a good photo, you need to track down the deer, without frightening it, and shot it from afar.

Mountain lion  — can be found all over San Andreas in a wooded area. The lion must be tracked so that he does not notice Franklin and does not attack. An easier way is to take a photo from there, where the lion will not get Franklin. You can stay on the roof of the car or into the water to the waist.

Rabbit  — it is widely distributed in forests and any other area where there is wild grass. Rabbits aren’t too fast, so it’s easy to take a good photo.

Domestic Animals

Cat  — many of them at an abandoned hotel in Sandy Shores. However, cats can be found in many alleyways of Los Santos. For example, you can find two cats in Strawberry near the first Franklin’s house.

Cow and pig  — you can find them on farms during the daytime and photograph both animals at once.

Small dogs: Poodle, Pug, West Highland Terrier  — come to Rockford Hills to the Vangelico jewelry store. In this lane and nearby in the daytime there is always one of three necessary breeds, but only one at a time — even if there are a lot of dogs, they will all be of the same breed. There are no problems here, just go to another area and then go back. Most likely, there will be dogs of another breed.

Big dogs: Border Collie, Husky, Retriever, Rottweiler  — to take a photo of the Rottweiler, it’s easiest to take a picture of Chop, because Its location is always known and he is accessible even at night. All other large dogs can be found at daylight on the site in Vinewood Hills (see the screenshot). If there is no necessary breed, the scheme of action is the same as with miniature dogs. Also in the screenshots, you can find the places where the Border Collie and Husky appear.

After sending all 20 photos, Franklin will receive a letter from the LS Tourist Board with gratitude and the opportunity to use the Kraken bathyscaphe, which will be at the pier on the east coast of San Andreas. The bathyscaphe is indicated on the map by the icon of the submarine, and all three protagonists can use it.

aAnimals arrived in GTA Online 10 years after the game’s release. And now, the Los Santos Tourist Board has a daily mission to photograph three animals each (real world) day.

Our in-progress guide for where to find animals in GTA Online will give you maps for where to find 13 of the 15 animals that might show up in the Shoot Animals LS Tourist Board mission.

GTA Online animals list

Animals arrived in Los Santos with the Chop Shop update. Each real-world day, the LS Tourist Board selects three kinds of animal from a list of 15 for you to photograph. You’ll get an email to your phone with the list.

The available animals are:

• Chicken Hawk
• Great Commorant
• Mountain Lion

The animals do have to be alive when you take the photo, so you’ll usually have to sneak up on them to get a good picture.

GTA Online animal spawn locations

Animals in GTA Online spawn in general areas, so treat the maps below as places to start looking, not exact locations. Beyond that, when an animal spawns, it has a set route that it will follow. Sometimes, they’ll just hang out to get a drink, while other spawns will follow a set path to a different location.

Animals also have rules about when they spawn that have to do with time of day and the weather. Cats, for example, don’t spawn in the rain. We’ll try to note these rules below.

Where to find boars in GTA Online

Boars tend to show up in out-of-the-way and hilly areas during the day . A good place to look for a boar is behind the abandoned motel in Sandy Shores .

Boars will run away as you approach them, so make sure to crouch.

Where to find cats in GTA Online

Cats are pretty common in the more urban areas of Los Santos, especially in the alleys off of main roads. Look for them when it’s not raining and, usually (but not always), in the daytime . You’ll often see them along the roads in Vinewood Hills , and there’s almost always one on the low wall east of the store in Sandy Shores .

Where to find chicken hawks in GTA Online

Chicken hawks are nondescript birds that you’ll often find soaring around Los Santos. You can tell them apart from other birds — like great cormorants and seagulls — by their short necks and broad wings.

If you can make it to the peak of Mount Chiliad , you’ll always find several of them circling around. If you don’t feel like trekking all the way out there, there are usually several of them above the airport on the southeastern shore of Alamo Sea near Sandy Shores .

Where to find cows in GTA Online

Unsurprisingly, you’ll mostly find cows on farms, not in the city itself.

You can find some at the farm southeast of the Redwood Lights Track in the Grand Senora Desert. There are several larger farms in the Grapeseed neighborhood on the northeastern shore of the Alamo Sea.

Where to find coyotes in GTA Online

It’s hard to pin down the best place to look for coyotes in GTA Online because they’re just kind of everywhere. You’ll find them along basically every road that’s not in Los Santos proper, day or night .

The area all around the Alamo Sea is a good place to look — it’s flat and the vegetation is pretty sparse, so the coyotes are easier to spot. Try the beach on the south side near Sandy Shores or the northeast by Grapeseed .

Where to find crows in GTA Online

There are only three places that crows spawn in GTA Online — in the east near Sandy Shores , Lago Zancudo in the west, and the peak of Mount Chiliad . They seem to only appear during the day .

Where to find deer in GTA Online

Deer, like coyotes, can be found basically everywhere that’s not the city. You’ll find them during the day along basically every rural road — just not in the desert south of the Alamo Sea . They don’t seem to spawn during rain and will always run away when you get too close.

Where to find great cormorants in GTA Online

Great cormorants only spawn in a few places in GTA Online . The best place to find them is Lago Zancudo in the west. Cormorants have long necks, making them easy to distinguish from chicken, hawks, and crows. You’ll spot them both flying and standing along water.

Where to find hens in GTA Online

Hens are another barnyard creature, so you’ll have to head to the rural areas of GTA Online to find them. During the day , head to the area south of Sandy Shores or up around Paleto Bay , and look for houses with chicken coops (or just chickens) in the yard.

Where to find mountain lions in GTA Online

Mountain lions spawn in some of the more wild areas of GTA Online . They’re more common at night and also extremely aggressive, so you’ll have to be careful snapping their picture.

The hiking trails on and around Mount Chiliad and the dirt road leading down to Catfish View are good places to check.

Where to find pigs in GTA Online

Pigs aren’t the same as the wild boars you see around the island. These are the farm animals and, as such, you’ll again be heading to the more rural areas of Los Santos and Blaine County.

For a picture of a pig, you’ll have to head to farms around Sandy Shores and Grapeseed — the areas around the Great Senora Desert and Alamo Sea — during the day .

Where to find poodles in GTA Online

Poodles (and pugs) are pets that you’ll find walking the streets of Los Santos during the day . For poodles, check the West Vinewood neighborhood along the north edge of Los Santos proper or Del Perro Beach on the west shore.

Where to find pugs in GTA Online

Pugs, like poodles, are pets that you’ll find on sidewalks in Los Santos neighborhoods during the day . Pugs are more common in the northwest of Los Santos in Richman and Rockford Hills .

Where to find rabbits in GTA Online

Rabbits are another creature that’s pretty ubiquitous throughout the rural areas of GTA Online — basically, you’ll find them anywhere that isn’t Los Santos or the desert. They’re small and they can be hard to spot, so look for them during the day when it’s not raining. And make sure you sneak up on them because they’re very skittish (and have a tendency to run into traffic).

Where to find seagulls in GTA Online

Not surprisingly, you’ll find seagulls along the coast — both along the ocean and the Alamo Sea — during the day . Good places to look are Del Perro Beach , Paleto Bay , Procopio Beach , and Sandy Shores .

GTA Online gets new wildlife photography challenges & unlockable Park Ranger vehicle

Players will be able to photograph the animals of San Andreas and its surrounding wilderness in new Daily Challenges.

As we kick off a new year of Grand Theft Auto Online, it’s time to grab your camera and check the tourist boards if you want to get in on the game’s latest challenges and rewards. Wildlife photography has come to the Daily Challenges in GTA Online. What’s more, if you take part in taking pictures of San Andreas and Los Santos critters, you’ll unlock the new Park Ranger vehicle and can even unlock Trade Price for it through the new photography challenge.

Rockstar Games announced the new wildlife photography challenges and Park Ranger vehicle in the latest Rockstar Newswire post this week. Starting now, players can visit the Los Santos Tourist Board in Blaine County and find out which animals tourists are looking to see. Once you have the info, you can track down and photograph three animals a day to submit as part of a new Daily Collectible. Accomplishing just one of the wildlife photography challenges will open up the opportunity to purchase the new Park Ranger vehicle. Finishing up 10 challenges will unlock its Trade Price, which allows you to acquire the vehicle more easily and cheaply.

Wildlife photography is an interesting new bend on content for Grand Theft Auto Online to kick off 2024. Where last year had us waging war with gasoline moguls and drug cartels to dominate illegal business in the game, wildlife photography seems like a tame and relaxing aside to the chaos. What’s more, the Park Ranger looks like it will be a solid addition to offroad options in any player’s garage, being that it’s built to handle the rough and tumble terrain of woods and wasteland.

There’s plenty of further bonus events and activities to explore with the arrival of the wildlife photography challenges, including bonus GTA$ and RP on races, new payphone hits and salvage yard robberies, and more. Be sure to stay tuned to our GTA Online topic for further coverage on the game.

Wildlife Photography (New-Gen Returning Players)

• Animals must be alive
• Animals must be centered in the picture
• No filters or borders

Animals to photograph

• Most of the animals - especially dogs - can be found much easier during the day.
• Dogs are quite interchangeable. Check the same areas at different times or days and you'll find different breeds. There's a park straight north of Michael's house at the edge of the residential area where dogs can be found.
• For the cormorants, crows, and hawks you should be able to get all three flying over the Grand Senora Desert/Great Chaparral or hills between those and the Vinewood Hills.
• Use the camera's grid to make sure the animal is as centered as possible. It doesn't have to be perfect but most of the way in the middle of the picture.
• You do not need to be extremely close to the animal for the picture to count. For example you should be able to submit birds flying in the air - just make sure to zoom in all the way for a better chance of it counting.
• The animal needs to be in view. It cannot be behind bushes.
• Many of the wild animals shy away from you or vehicles. This can make them more difficult to get. You can use a vehicle to get up to speed chasing them and when you get right behind them quickly activate snapmatic+zoom in to get a shot. If you don't feel like chasing, get somewhat near the animal and enter stealth to slowly step closer to it. For the mountain lion/cougar you may not want to stray too far from a car or truck. Get its attention and then get on top of the vehicle so you don't get bit.
