• Do I have to pay extra when compared to buying the tickets in the traditional way? KSRTC does not charge anything extra when compared to the traditional way. The tickets are absolutely at the same cost.
• I've lost my ticket what do I do now? A copy of the ticket would have been sent to you by e-mail when you booked the ticket. Please take a printout of that mail and produce it at the time of boarding. If you have not received your ticket to the mail ID you provided, we have flexibility that you will receive a message directly to your mobile from KSRTC immediately after booking ticket, you can give the PNR Number in website and you can take a printout.
• Can I cancel the ticket? Yes. The tickets booked through KSRTC online can be cancelled*. Money is transferred back to the passenger's Credit/Debit card account. Please note that the cancellation fee is as per the E-Ticket Terms & Conditions . Please contact our live help (080-26252625) for service specific details.
• I don't have a credit can I still buy tickets at KSRTC? Yes. You don't necessarily need to have a Credit card to buy tickets on KSRTC. You can buy tickets through Debit Card also.
• I missed the bus. Do I get refund? KSRTC provides 100% refund if the bus is cancelled due to KSRTC. However, if the bus is missed due to any other reasons not directly related to KSRTC it does not provide any refund.

• Is there any other option to book tickets from KSRTC? Yes. You can book tickets by going to the nearest ATB Agent counter. Also you can book tickets at all KSRTC Bus Station counters.
• How safe are online transactions? Transactions on KSRTC are very safe. KSRTC employees the best-in-class security and the transactions done through KSRTC are secure. KSRTC uses Secure Socket Layers (VeriSign/Godaddy etc., SSL) data encryption. Using SSL ensures that the information exchanged with KSRTC is never transmitted unencrypted thus protecting the information from being viewed by unauthorized individuals. This encryption is done using 128-bit RC4 encryption. In addition the Credit card information is processed over secure gateways which are certified by Visas.

City Circular Service is an innovative transportation network, introduced by KSRTC for first time in the state of Kerala. The city to have the first launch will be Thiruvananthapuram. After this it will be introduced in other major cities like Kozhikode, Kochi etc. This is the first public transportation system in Kerala with Hope on Hope Off model.

The City Circular (CC) Service of KSRTC is making a paradigm shift in the operation of buses in the city. This novel facility would provide a delightful experience to the general public who rely on KSRTC’s city bus services for daily commuting. The service provides a convenient and robust solution to the general public, who visit the various offices, shop, markets, etc inside the city on a hop-on hop-off fashion. Hop On Hop Off (HOHO) is very popular among the tourists around the world. But in this case, this is mainly meant for the routine commuters. The tariff is also affordable. Further, this connects almost all the places within the limits of the Thiruvanathapuram city. These buses will connect government offices, hospitals, tourist spots and other major areas. In the First Phase of KSRTC City Circular service, there are 13 routes. These are operated in circular routes at fixed intervals. Bus services would be available, in both clockwise and anti-clockwise directions. So, a passenger can board the bus from a stop (HOP ON), and then can alight at another stop (HOP OFF). This would get repeated until the passenger reaches the desired destination. The highlight is that the passenger will not be forced to wait at a stop for more than 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the time of travel. In the next phase, eight more circles will be introduced widening the horizon of CC services. The unique feature of this transport is that all the city circular services will have a unique colour. A passenger can identify the destination of the bus by the colour of the circle.

Good Day Ticket

• Provides 24 hours of unlimited travel in any city circular buses.
• Costs Rs 150 per ticket but inaugural offer is Rs 50.
• Tickets can be bought through conductor in bus.
• This ticket is ‘Non-Transferable’.

Travel Card

• Based on RFID technology.
• Introductory offer is Rs 50 per card free for the first charging.
• Card value is Rs 100 per card.
• Maximum recharge limit is Rs 2000.
• Travel card can be recharged by conductor,depots and recharge points across the city.
• Everyone must treat the card like cash .
• Card lost will not be replaced.

how to cancel KSRTC ticket and what are the charges for cancellation?

Here is how to cancel your booked KSRTC ticket . You can cancel your ticket simply by using the PNR number on your ticket and the ticket number. Upon cancellation, the booked amount will be credited to the booked bank account. After 72 hours, cancellation charges will apply.

Steps to cancel KSRTC ticket.

• Visit the website https://www.onlineksrtcswift.com/
• Click on the Cancellation button in the main menu.
• In the Enter PNR field, type the PNR number of your ticket followed by a hyphen ( – ) followed by your ticket number.
• Then click on CANCEL TICKET button.
• Now in the Cancel Ticket for section, you can see the details that were given when we booked, and you have to select the ticket to be cancelled.
• Now you can see that Your ticket has been canceled successfully .

If there is a cancellation charge, the remaining amount minus the cancellation charge will be credited to the bank where you booked within 7 banking days.

How to charge cancellation charges

• If canceled 72 hours before the departure of the vehicle, the base fare will be fully refunded and no cancellation charge will be charged.
• Cancellation between 72 hours and 48 hours will incur a cancellation charge of 10 percent of the base rate.
• Cancellation between 48 hours and 24 hours will incur a cancellation charge of 25% of the base rate.
• Cancellation between 24 hours and 12 hours will incur a cancellation charge of 40% of the base rate.
• In case of cancellation between 12 hours and 2 hours, 50% of the basic fare will be charged as cancellation charge.
• Cancellations after two hours are non-refundable.

KSRTC decides to cancel trips with income below Rs 25 per km

Kottayam: The state government-owned Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has decided to cancel all trips which fail to generate a daily collection of Rs 25 per kilometre. As part of this move, KSRTC will examine the daily income of each trip apart from the schedule.

KSRTC buses plying in remote areas are having good rush during school and office hours. But other trips during early morning and night are not generating sufficient revenue. Hence, KSRTC services operating during these hours in the identified routes will be cancelled.

With the cancellation of double duty, buses that start service in the morning will be forced to conclude service by evening.

The KSRTC has informed that if the revenue falls and passengers face any woes, only the employees will be responsible. But KSRTC is not sure whether the employees will be ready to take up the responsibility.

A meeting chaired by KSRTC MD proposed major recommendations amid the relaxations in COVID restrictions. It is proposed that the passengers should be allowed to stand and travel especially on routes where less number of services are operated.

Other recommendations are as follows:

• Unit level meetings should be conducted daily and loss and revenue of the previous day should be examined. Drawbacks should be resolved.
• Shortage of staff and bus should not disrupt or delay any service.
• Profitable routes should be identified. Unit chiefs are empowered to reschedule the ordinary bus services.
• The unit chief must confirm that each trip generates Rs 25 per kilometre and each schedule earns Rs 35 per kilometre.
• Though the services generate less than Rs 25 per kilometre, services should be carried out regularly in areas like Adivasi regions where KSRTC services are the only relief for the people.

KSRTC's new budget tourism packages from Kannur for Onam announced

Buoyed by the exciting response to its budget tourism packages, the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is all set to operate a new set of packages from Kannur, this Onam.

Vagamon-Munnar:  The package will be operated on August 25 and 30. The bus will depart from Kannur at 7 pm to reach Vagamon the next day. An off-road jeep safari and a local sightseeing trip will follow this. The passengers will be taken to the hotel by 6 pm and a campfire will be held late in the evening. On the second day morning, the bus will leave for Munnar and after brief visits to Chaturangappara viewpoint, Anayirangal Dam, Malai Kallan cave, Orange Garden, Gap Road, View Point, etc, the trip will conclude at Kannur by 6 am the next day.

Munnar:  The trip is scheduled to be operated on August 25 and 30. After starting from Kannur at 6 pm, the guests will be taken to major tourist attractions in the hill station such as the Eravikulam National Park, Echo Point, Botanical Garden, Flower Garden, Shooting Point, and Mattupetty Dam on the first day. After an overnight stay at a hotel, the guests will be taken to various destinations, including Chaturangappara viewpoint, Anayirangal Dam, Malai Kallan cave, Orange Garden, Gap Road, View Point, etc, before reaching back to Kannur by 6 am the next day.

Gavi : The trip will begin from Kannur at 5 pm on August 30 and reach Kumily the next morning. The guests will be taken to Cumbum across the state border to offer a view of the sprawling grape vineyards, vegetable farms, pen-stock pipelines, and other viewpoints. Later in the day, the bus will proceed to Ramakkalmedu and return to Kumily for an overnight stay. The group will proceed to Gavi the second day morning, and the package also includes boating and meals at the destination. The trip will conclude at Kannur at 6 am the next day.

Ranipuram-Bakel Fort-Beach : The trip will begin from Kannur at 6 am and return by 9 pm after visiting the Ranipuram hill station, Bakel Fort, and Bakel Beach.

Paithalmala- Palakkayam Thattu -Ezharakkund waterfalls : The trip, which combines three major destinations in the district, will begin at 6.30 am and return by 9 pm.

Wayanad : The trip as part of the package, which includes a visit to Tusharagiri waterfalls, Pookkode Lake, Lakkidi view point, Honey Museum, and Chain Tree among others, will begin at 6.30 in the morning and conclude by 10 in the night. For more details, contact 8089463675, 9496131288.

• 3.Tickets are not transferable.
• 4.Management is not responsible for luggage/baggage and Personal belongings of the tourists.
• 5.Tourists are requested to take personal care about their Luggage/Belongings.
• 6.The management reserves the right to cancel the trip in case the numbers of seats booked are less than 12 and for any such other reasons.
• 7.The ticket is valid for the particular journey to which it is issued.
• 8.Children above the age of 5 years will be charged full fare. No seats will be given to children below 5 years. (Age proof Required)
• 9.Passengers are requested to report 15 minutes in advance. The bus will not wait for passenger who arrives late.
• 10.Smoking and consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited in the coach.
• 11.Purchasing articles from other than Govt. shops is at their own risk.
• 12.The Corporation shall neither be responsible nor refund the amount in case the tourists miss the bus on account of late reporting to the pickup point.
• 13.Tipping the staff including the Guide is strictly prohibited. They are paid by KSTDC except for BHS trip.
• 14.Pets and Animals not allowed inside the bus while on Journey.
• 15.The management has all the right to make the passengers to get down from the bus, who are travelling on invalid tickets, disturbing the co-passengers & drunken passengers, without any refund.
• 16.No postponement of journey will be made within 24 hours. There is no refund on cancellation of one time Preponed/Postponed ticket.
• 17.Tariff is subject to change without notice.
• 18.Accommodation is subject to availability of the rooms and they are subject to change without prior notice.
• 19.Senior Citizens are provided with 20% discount on transportation by default while booking ticket. Hence they must produce valid proof.
• 20.The management shall not be liable for third party suppliers including arrangements with accommodation providers, activity providers and local guides and other independent parties (Third party suppliers) to provide you with some or all the components of your bookings.
• 21.The management shall not be liable and will not assume responsibility for any claims, losses, damages, costs or expenses arising out of inconvenience, loss of enjoyment, upset, disappointed, distress or frustration, whether physical or mental, resulting from the act or omission of any party other than Tour Operator and its employees.
• 22.The management resources all the right to update or alter their terms and condition at any time, and will post the amended terms and condition in the tour package.
• 24.The package tour tariff includes only accommodation and transportation costs, the other charges like food, entrance tickets, etc.. should be borne by tourists themselves.

How the Predators’ canceled trip to a U2 concert sparked their run to the NHL playoffs

When you’re the team operations director of a hockey team, you’re used to putting out fires.

Flight delays, middle-of-the-night phone calls from players and staff, practice-time changes. If there’s a problem, you find a way to fix it … and there’s always an unforeseen problem.

On Feb. 16, hours after the Nashville Predators were clobbered 9-2 at home by the Dallas Stars in a third straight “horrible” performance coming out of their bye/All-Star break, director of team operations Brandon Walker got word from general manager Barry Trotz that he should cancel those 40 tickets he had purchased for $13,000 in December so players and staff could attend the U2 concert at the Sphere in Las Vegas on Feb. 18.

Well, that was not only easier said than done, but it was also impossible.

“I didn’t really care,” Trotz said.

The decision made by Trotz, the Preds’ “rookie” GM, and Andrew Brunette, the Preds’ first-year coach after guiding the Florida Panthers in 2022 to a Presidents’ Trophy and their first playoff series win in 26 years, created a wild domino effect for Walker. It meant the Predators’ fun three-day jaunt to Sin City between road games against the St. Louis Blues and Vegas Golden Knights would have to be reworked immediately. The Predators were leaving that day for St. Louis, but they would now return from St. Louis to Nashville for one day of practice before continuing their five-game trip.

The Preds had two planes in St. Louis because one was to bring corporate sponsors. The Preds ditched their normal first-class-outfitted plane and jumped on board the regularly configured commercial-style plane with sponsors back to Nashville. Walker booked a new Nashville-to-Las Vegas chartered flight for Feb. 19, then shortened the dates for 60 hotel rooms and rearranged buses and a bunch of meals.

And what about that block of U2 tickets he’d bought Dec. 7, three days after U2 extended its Sphere residency?

Walker couldn’t even flood secondary markets with the tickets because they were printed tickets that would be under his name at will call, and he wouldn’t be in town to pick them up. So Walker came up with a genius idea. He called his hotel’s VIP host, traded him the tickets and then transferred them to his name so the host could give them to some of his high-roller clients.

Walker isn’t sure yet what the team will receive in trade, and you guessed it: “I don’t care,” Trotz said.

Seeing U2 at the Sphere was on Trotz’s bucket list, too. Brunette is also a huge U2 fan. And the decision to cancel the Vegas vacation didn’t just affect the players; it stung the entire staff, which had been looking forward to the season respite for months.

“We were taking everybody,” Trotz said. “But there’s a certain standard and a certain way that you have to prepare, and our players’ focus after they got back from the All-Star break was awful.”

That decision turned out to be the defining, galvanizing moment of the Predators’ season.

The Predators went from 4 points out of a playoff spot to soaring on a 16-0-2, 18-game point streak, including five consecutive victories on that rearranged trip to St. Louis, Vegas, L.A., San Jose and Anaheim. They finished the season 20-5-3 from Feb. 17 on and have returned to the playoffs after missing the dance last season following an eight-year run, which included a trip to the 2017 Stanley Cup Final.

Sunday night, they’ll be in Vancouver to open a best-of-seven series against the Canucks .

“I’ve been on many teams, and trust me, this could have gone one way or the other after you make a harsh decision like this, but it speaks to the leadership group that we have,” said Brunette, who played more than 1,100 NHL games and scored the first goal in Predators history in 1998.

Brunette’s not just talking about captain Roman Josi and Stanley Cup winners like Ryan O’Reilly and Ryan McDonagh . He’s talking about guys like Filip Forsberg , first-year Pred but longtime NHLer Gustav Nyquist and Preds lifer Colton Sissons , who has played 618 games over 10 seasons for Nashville.

And Trotz, the original Predators coach who spent 15 years there, won a Stanley Cup with the Washington Capitals and is third in NHL history with 914 coaching victories, was more than willing to take the risk, too, because of the trust he has in his players.

“But we knew this could have backfired quickly, but we were willing to take the risk,” Brunette said. “I love to have fun as much as anybody, but hockey has to come first, and that’s been always my mantra. As a player or as a coach or anywhere else in the game, hockey has to come first. You have to work first, and you have fun after.

“And hockey didn’t feel like it was first during that week, and I think we just had to make a point.”

The Preds came back from a 10-day break, and like most teams in the league, they were sloppy in their first game back yet got away with a win over the Arizona Coyotes.

Then, the players had their Super Bowl party and followed that up by getting plowed twice at home.

“These were crucial points to grab, and we stunk the joint up in front of our fans,” Brunette said. “Just wasn’t acceptable. I wasn’t very happy with them on the Monday after the Super Bowl. I got caught getting pissed off at them on the ice, and they had a little bit of a bag skate. But the message, and the urgency, wasn’t received, I guess you could say.”

Trotz couldn’t believe what he was watching during that seven-goal loss to Dallas, and like Brunette, he couldn’t stop thinking about the fact he was about to bring this team to Vegas for three days.

“Our mindset wasn’t right, and I didn’t feel that you should reward that, and I couldn’t accept the way we were playing,” Trotz said. “So, … ‘We’re not going.’”

Trotz went down to the coach’s room after the Stars loss and had a two-minute conversation with Brunette.

“It was on my mind anyways,” Brunette said.

Then Trotz met with Josi, O’Reilly, McDonagh and a couple of the other leaders to inform them Vegas was off.

“I probably wasn’t the most popular guy, but when you talk to them now, they get it,” Trotz said. “They weren’t probably the happiest, but you know what? I wasn’t happy, either. This is a good life lesson for everyone. I know everybody looked at it as though I just punished them. I didn’t punish them. I just said, ‘This is the standard we have, this is not acceptable, and you have to start acting like professionals. Because the way you’re playing is not fair to each other, isn’t fair to the organization and, most of all, isn’t fair to your fans.’ I said, ‘You earn respect and you earn privilege, and right now you haven’t earned the right to have fun in Vegas, so we’re coming home from St. Louis.’

“It’s like being at home and telling your kids, ‘Clean up your room, clean up your room, clean up your room.’ If they don’t do it, what are you going to do, take them to a movie?

“But what I love is our men responded.”

They sure did. Not coincidentally, many of the Predators’ leaders took off right from that first victory in St. Louis.

During their 16-0-2 run, Forsberg, who had a career year with 48 goals and 94 points, scored 15 goals and 28 points; Josi had 24 points and was plus-22; and players such as Nyquist, who had a 75-point season, O’Reilly and McDonagh erupted.

Juuse Saros went 12-0-2 in that stretch with a 1.92 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage. During that 18-game point streak, the Predators scored the third-most goals in the NHL (74) and gave up the fewest (33).

“They went from easing back in the season and watching it slip away to being all business and playing with the standard we expect as an organization,” Trotz said. “Our leaders, our team, they understood. They go, ‘You know what? Hey, you’re right. We’re better than this.’ And then they started to show it. It wasn’t calculated or anything. It was just a reaction to what I call a standard and foundation of this hockey team.

“Like Bruno, I know this could have gone the other way, but I didn’t care. If you do what’s right, you’re never wrong. And that was right. That was the right decision for us. No matter how that would’ve played out, it was the right decision because what you’re doing is setting the standard. And if that was acceptable, then the next group behind them goes, ‘Oh, that’s acceptable. I don’t have to be a pro.’ It’s like in practice, if you want them to go from goal line to goal line and touch the line and you got guys that turn five feet from the line, well, what do you do?”

You set the standard by blowing your whistle.

The Predators are a physical, fast, relentless team that should be able to compete with the Canucks, who have had a marvelous year. But if Forsberg can keep up his star-studded play, if Saros can continue to be lights out, if Josi can continue to play the best hockey Brunette has ever witnessed from a defenseman these past few months, the Predators’ brass believes they have a real chance to not only win the series but also make a run.

The one area they probably aren’t as strong is overall depth.

“They’re four lines deep,” Brunette said. “But we’re going to need the Tommy Novaks, the Jason Zuckers, the Luke Evangelistas to score. We need the secondary scoring. We talk about that stretch of 18 games and how good our top players were, but without that secondary scoring, the fourth line scoring, we probably wouldn’t be where we are today.”

The Predators have had quite the season considering how honest Trotz was with the fan base that the expectation this season was a bit of a retool. Now the team is soaring into the playoffs as confident as any of the 15 others, and Trotz credits his leaders and Brunette, who he thinks “should be Coach of the Year.”

“You look at preseason rosters, you look at us, there’s not a person in hell that’s picking us to make the playoffs,” Trotz said. But we don’t play the game on paper. That’s the great thing about this game is that there’s a human factor and there’s a commitment factor and just the randomness of things that happen during the year that can define a team or take a team down.”

And what defined the Preds was standing up Bono and taking it personally rather than letting things go sideways.

Tesla shares under pressure after carmaker announces price cuts

Shares in Tesla came under pressure on Monday after the electric carmaker announced a round of price cuts ahead of a difficult set of results for the company’s chief executive, Elon Musk.

Tesla stock fell as much as 5% in early trading before recovering slightly to a deficit of 3.4% in the wake of the price reductions around the globe, including slashing the cost of three of its leading electric vehicles (EVs) and its self-driving software.

Musk revealed at the weekend that he had postponed a trip to India , including a planned meeting with the prime minister, Narendra Modi, because of “very heavy obligations” at the company.

The CEO faces a key conference call with the investment community on Tuesday, when Tesla’s latest quarterly figures are expected to reveal its worst performance in seven years.

Tesla’s results come amid slowing global demand for EVs and pressure on prices from Chinese rivals. The company has already indicated a poor first quarter in terms of sales, after it revealed this month that deliveries missed market expectations by about 13% .

Tesla attempted to boost demand for its EVs late on Friday by cutting the prices of three of its five models in the US, then went on to cut prices around the world over the weekend, including in China, the Middle East, Africa and Europe.

It cut the US prices of the Model Y, Tesla’s most popular model and the top-selling EV, and also of the older and more expensive Models X and S. Those cuts reduced the starting price for a Model Y to $42,990 (£34,874), and to $72,990 for a Model S and $77,990 for a Model X. It also slashed the US price of its Full Self-Driving driver assistance software from $12,000 to $8,000.

It also emerged on Friday that Tesla was recalling all 3,878 Cybertrucks it has shipped since the vehicle was released in late 2023 because of a faulty accelerator pedal. A filing from the US safety regulator said owners had reported that the pedal pad could come loose and get lodged in the interior trim, causing the vehicle to accelerate unintentionally, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dan Ives, the managing director of the US financial services firm Wedbush Securities, said investors’ reaction to the price cuts on Monday showed they were worried “Tesla is panicking”, as well as reflecting concerns that the reductions would hit margins – a measure of profitability.

Tesla has already reacted to the slowdown by cutting more than 10% of its global workforce , equivalent to at least 14,000 roles.

Musk faces questions on Tuesday about growth in China, plans for a cheaper electric car known as the Model 2 and whether a reported switch in focus to self-driving robotaxis will affect the project. Shares in Tesla have declined more than 40% so far this year. Analysts at Wedbush wrote last week that Tuesday’s conference call represented a “moment of truth” for Musk and Tesla.

“While we have seen much more tenuous times in the Tesla story going back to 2015, 2018, 2020 … this time is clearly a bit different as for the first time many longtime Tesla believers are giving up on the story and throwing in the white towel,” Wedbush wrote in a note to investors.

Reuters reported this month that Tesla had halted development of the Model 2, prompting Musk to post on X that “Reuters is lying”, without citing any inaccuracies.

Musk said this weekend he would reschedule the India trip to a later date this year. He had been due to visit on 21 April and 22 April, where he had been expected to announce an investment of $2bn-3bn in India, according to Reuters, with the spending plans focused on building a new plant.

Musk’s now-postponed visit to Delhi had also been expected to include meetings with executives at space industry startups. The billionaire is awaiting Indian government regulatory approvals to begin offering his Starlink satellite broadband service in the country.
