The Lolë White Tour

This post brought to you in partnership with Lolë, a brand I absolutely adore. All opinions are my own. Thank you so much for supporting the brands that help support GG! 

As you probably know, a couple weeks back I went on my FIRST ever trip to Canada (how is that possible?!) and spent the weekend in Montreal for what has been one of the coolest projects I’ve ever worked on to date– the Lole White Tour ! I got to attend along with some other awesome bloggers–Kate of The Chic Series , Amanda of The Miller Affect , Lauren of Lauren Kay Sims , and Juliet Angus .  I’m excited to share some photos as well as my experience in today’s post! (I’m trying really hard to get them to come to Chicago! What do you think?)

If you aren’t familiar with Lolë–they’re now officially one of my favorite activewear brands. (Yes, they are paying me for this collaboration, however, they did not ask me to say that. I am a serious convert to this brand after this trip! Let me explain.)

I wasn’t really that familiar with them before I met with the brand team at a conference back in the spring–they’re really popular in Canada, but still relatively new to most people in the U.S.!

First, let’s address the obvious: they make cute workout and athleisure clothes.

Now, let’s address the not-so-obvious: They’re also focused on making a positive impact–like, they have an entire line made of fabric that was created by recycled plastic bottles (and magically, the material is SO SOFT!) and their swim line is comprised of fabric made from recycled fishnets And oh, by the way, it also happens to have UPF 50 sun protection.

If you are, admittedly, like me and slightly suspicious of things like “recycled plastic clothing” that sound like they could fall under the “crunchy granola” category–don’t worry. The best part is, you would never actually know this stuff if you didn’t read the fine print! Their clothing is so comfortable, high quality and their designs are, of course, adorable.

The best part is that so many of their items are insanely versatile , great for everything from yoga to brunch to travel to date night.

When we visited the Lolë headquarters, we actually learned that every item they design must meet the following four requirements:

• Be versatile from one sport to another OR one occasion to another
• Contain functional technical features to last and keep up with your activities
• Have a feminine design
• Be comfortable

I absolutely love this, because I feel like most athletic wear only fits into one or two of these categories–you know, “ these pants are cute, but they’re see through .” Or “ those pants are great for the gym, but I don’t want to wear them to walk around in public .” Or, “ that bra is super cute for yoga, but lacks support–I can’t wear that to Orange Theory !” Yada yada yada. Sometimes it feels a little goldilocks-ish, you know?

We were outfitted in Lolë all weekend so we could really take advantage of every opportunity to test out their different items and products for several different occasions (not going to lie, at first, I was like “crap. I don’t want to wear athletic wear all weekend!” But after I saw how versatile their athleisure stuff was, I was like YASSS) and I can vouch that the amount of detail and thought that goes into their designs became clear very quickly, and my Lolë items have continued to be repeat outfit offenders since I got home!

Okay, so, let’s jump into the main event of why we were there–the white tour!

The brand started the White Tour in 2012, bringing together communities around the world for a massive yoga session to promote unity and peace. Yes, as you might guess, all attendees wear white! It’s truly one of the most unique experiences I’ve ever had, and something every yogi will love. To date, they’ve had more than 50,000 participants!

The Montreal event was the grand finale of the 2017 season, and took place on Jacques-Cartier Pier in the Old Port. It was a spectacular view of the city and the water, so being surrounded by thousands of yogis channeling all the good vibes only sweetened the deal! Bilingual instructors lead the crowd in both English and French, and ended with a guided meditation that was both calming and emotional at the same time. The sense of positivity and community was contagious–it was seriously so cool. I wish you could’ve been there!

My top Lolë wardrobe staples:

Sizing tip: I found that their sizing tends to run slightly large in pants (I wear XS), but true to size for tops!

Tough to play favorites, but these might be my favorite workout pants. They just don’t get much cuter than this! The material is also thick, so no show-through, and I love the details in the legs!

This is a dress that everyone will love, but is going to be the frequent traveler’s best friend! It’s a super soft, classic t-shirt dress. It’s not too short, not too long, and the perfect weight. You can wear it with heels, wear it with sneakers, out to a fancy dinner, or walking for miles.

I love this twist-front pullover! Comes in several colors and is an awesome basic layer that you can throw on to go just about anywhere.

The SOFTEST shirt ever. I love that you can wear it to work out over a sports bra or crop (it also has a little bit of a peek-a-boo back!) It looks really cute with jeans, too.

Think of what your favorite blanket scarf would be like if made into a vest. (This is it!) Comes in two colors and is so cute with an athleisure-type outfit, or with jeans and booties!

I got this mat back in April and it’s been my favorite ever since. It’s super lightweight (so it doesn’t kill my shoulder if I walk around with it after yoga!) but is still cushiony. It has a really nice grip so my feet don’t slide around, and it’s double-sided, too!

These leggings are a very close second to the top version–I love the light and dark grey color blocking! These come in more colors, too!

They make these absolutely fabulous packable down jackets that are going to be amazzzinnggg in the fall! They pack into a little teeny bag that you can actually use as a pillow on the plane, or easily clip to your backpack during travel.

Another super versatile layering piece–this is a dress/vest combination that you can wear so many different ways! I have it in the light pink color, but it comes in grey as well!

My OBSESSION. I love this bag so much, I feel like an embarrassing mother who never stops talking about her child. But really, it does SO much.

It has so many compartments, a shoe bag, padded pocket for your computer, is convertible into a backpack, has a keychain clip so you never lose your keys in your bag, and also has a sleeve to put your yoga mat through. Yeah, I mean, there are probably some features I’m forgetting because there are so many. (You get it, it’s great. Right?)

The SOFTEST tee I have ever put on my body. I love that I can layer it over a tank or sports bra as a pseudo sweater or wear it just as a shirt alone.

This button down is so pretty–my friend MacKenzie wore it out one night we were there and I was super jealous, I think this might be my next Lolë purchase! Such a classic staple!

After rolling out mats for nearly 800 yogis in MoMA’s Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden for last year’s installment, organizers of the Lolë White Tour are hoping up to 10,000 Namaste-ers will take part in its Sept. 2 event in Central Park.

An all-white dress code and online registration are the only requirements for the free class, which will be led by Elena Brower, Colleen Saidman Yee and Rodney Yee. Should they choose to, attendees can find plenty of white yoga pieces in the White by Lolë collection. There were 15 discounted options Friday afternoon on its e-commerce site, including the $60 Banita tank, the $72 Amoda Pants and the $120 Sohni Jacket.

Once they’re limbered up, yogis will catch a live performance by indie pop singer Ingrid Michaelson as well as special guest Donna De Lory (a former Madonna backup singer). Bernard Mariette, president and chief executive officer of the $100 million Montreal-based brand, will also be front-and-center. Yoga isn’t his only lung-expanding pursuit — he has also climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and spoke at the TED x Youth @ Montreal event.

In 2009, Mariette took on the ceo role and invested in Lolë’s parent company Coalision Inc. and with his team updated the product offerings, marketing and distribution channels. The brand’s goal is to be offered in 1,600 points of sale, including 210 concept shops, by the start of 2016, a spokeswoman said. Big on community building, Lolë posts an assortment of meet-ups on its Web site and aims to generate $125 million in annual volume by the end of this year, she said.

In addition to what will hopefully be a greater sense of balance (not to mention brand awareness), participants will go home with a few freebies — a Lolë yoga mat and a goodie bag. While the Lolë White Tour has touched down in Toronto, Paris and Montreal, the New York edition is the only one that is offered at no charge to the public. Lolë will also host one for 1,500 paid ticketholders Nov. 7 at the Santa Monica Pier, before stretching the White Tour to Cambodia next year.

As reported in PR Newswire, Central Parks Great Lawn was the site of an outdoor class uniting close to 10,000 yoga-lovers in the heart of New York City. 

Thousands of participants, dressed all in white as a symbol of peace, gathered to experience a unique evening of pure serenity.  The 2015 Lole White Tour™, New York session was a highlight of the brand's 2015 season.  The annual Lole White Tour was launched in 2012 with the goal of building a global wellness movement.

This event, as well as the others that have appeared around the world this year, were organized by women's activewear and lifestyle brand Lole and presented by FIJI Water.

The Lole White Tour Is The Hottest Yoga Event Of The Summer

International Yoga Day fell on Tuesday, June 21st, and with the Burrard Street Bridge being a no-go for your favourite flow, you'll have to find alternate public spaces to practice en masse.

Summer in the city is the perfect time to explore new places to do yoga outdoors. From the pristine lakeside beaches in provincial parks to the public beaches in the downtown core, Vancouver is a yoga lover’s paradise. It’s no surprise that activewear brand Lolë Women has decided to bring their world renowned Lolë White Tour to Vancouver.

If you’re unfamiliar with Lolë and the Tour, here’s a primer: Lolë’s mission is to bring people together through yoga and promote health and well-being. To spread this mission, they created a massive yoga tour, where yogis around the world join together in a flow session on matching Lolë yellow mats, dressed all in white to represent peace. The visual of hundreds of yogis dressed alike and moving in unison is truly something to behold - or to experience for yourself!

Although the tour lands in Vancouver a week and a bit shy of International Yoga Day, the spirit of union and yoga remains the same. The Lolë White event takes place this July 1st at McArthurGlen Designer Outlets , and is open to the public for only $15 per ticket. Tickets are available at Eventbrite , and include participation in the one-hour mass yoga session, a bright yellow Lolë yoga mat, a Lolë and McArthurGlen gift bag, and a $15 Lolë gift card.

The best part? Your participation helps a good cause – a portion of the proceeds go to the Red Cross for Canada in support of the Fort McMurray fire effort.

Check-in for the event is at 9am on July 1st, and the yoga session will run from 10am to 11am. A live 3-piece classical trio will be performing during the session to keep the vibes chill. If it turns out your yoga wardrobe is a bit lacking in white, Lolë has curated the best of their white activewear to make life easy.

You’ll also have a bunch of other activities to choose from at McArthurGlen – they’re offering amazing sales and deals throughout the Canada Day long weekend. Restaurant patios will be open, so enjoy a meal at Ryuu Japanese Kitchen in the sun, pick up an iced coffee while you shop, or visit one of the food trucks popping up for the long weekend. There will be family-friendly activities, jazz performances, and a full symphony orchestra playing live in the evening. Plenty to do.

The Lolë White Tour is an inspiring community-driven event devoted to the practice of yoga and meditation in a unique setting to promote peace. This Saturday August 17, the wellness experience will take place at sunset, along the St Laurence River at one of the most recognized festival sites in North America – just 15 minutes away from downtown Montreal.

Once again Lolë White Tour can count on its loyal Lolë ambassadors. Yogis taking part in its unique sunset session will be guided by the writer and lecturer Elena Brower , as well as Montreal’s own Julien Gagnon , who is famous for his rigorous, methodical approach. Yoga therapist Marie-Françoise Mariette will lead us into a collective meditation session. Also, international yoga and meditation teacher Adam Mahmoud will host the immersive meditation session offered to Yves Rocher Serenity pass holders.

Montreal artist Alexandra Streliski will offer a musical experience, rich in emotion as a compliment to the work of the yoga instructors. Raised between Paris and Montreal, Alexandra is one of the rare women in a neoclassical world. She was revealed to the public via Jean-Marc Vallée’s films Dallas Buyers Club and Demolition , and more recently, the trailer of the series Big little lies . Her 2018 album Inscape is supported by the tour which will visit up to 40 cities. A must-see as part of the Lolë White Tour.

The featured activities at the Lolë White Tour include: health, food options, entertainment, a relaxation space, warm-up sessions provide by Slow move Fitness, photo opportunities, wellness stations.

Yes, Canadian winters can be on the tough side: long and cold. Winter starts in November usually and lingers till April. Montreal is usually 0 to -30 degrees celsius during winter. Brrrrr! Bring your parka and long underwear! Come in February for one of the Winter Festivals.

We just got back from Vancouver/Whistler and are only about 40% joking when we say we want to move there now! Completely obsessed!

Many of you know that I was in Montreal last weekend, but a lot of you don’t really know why.

I went to Montreal for the Lolë White Tour, and had one of the best weekends of my life!!!

I am about ready to move to Canada! After a wedding in Alberta and then an amazing weekend in Quebec it has been super hard to deal with the heat here in Dallas. My husband doesn’t think I can take the winters in Canada though… and he knows me best.

Already planning a girls trip to Vancouver now. That is where everyone in Canada keeps telling me to go!

The Lolë White Tour was so incredible. Lolë hosts the White Tour in Canada every year in Toronto and in Montreal. You can check the schedules here .

So many people signed up in Montreal that they had to break it up into three sessions. Each session had around 5,000 people in attendance and everyone was in all white.

Doing yoga and meditation amidst so many others was such an incredible experience. It is so hard to put into words. You just feel so in the moment, so grounded, so at peace. You all move at the same time, breath at the same time, etc. Just such a special thing to be a part of.

The White Tour made Troy want to get back into yoga and it made me look up all of the different mass yoga events they have around the country. I will definitely be back for this next year. I know they also did a White Tour in Toronto so I may have to try that one!

Lily Tote Bag

I actually have this bag and I use it now whenever I travel. It is perfect if you take a bag to the gym or if you do yoga regularly. It has a spot in the front for you to slip your mat into.

Packable Jackets

Lolë gifted me four of these packable jackets and I am sooo excited! They are so warm and comfortable and will also go great under heavier jackets for super cold temps. You can easily pack them up into a little bag that you can use on the airplane as a pillow= yes please! Perfect for those of us who always have zero room in our suitcases. They don’t weigh anything and they don’t take up any space.

Oh and they are water resistant, wind resistant, and there are about 10 colors to choose from!

Lolë Water Bottle

These water bottles are so amazing. They will keep your drink hot for 12 hours and cold for 24! They also have leak-proof caps and a non slip grip base. I have one in white and one in black and have been carrying them with me to my workouts ever since I got back!

Lole Is Hosting A Massive "Yoga Festival" In Montreal's Old Port

Yoga and meditation are hugely i mportant to fit into your daily life. Not only does yoga increase your flexibility and core strength but it also relieves stress and improves your mood.

I've honestly never been very good at yoga, but that's the best thing about it, you can participate whether you're a beginner or an expert because it's more about improvement than skill level. 

This summer Montreal is hosting a huge yoga festival hosted by Lole Women which is the perfect time to hone your yoga skills! 

It's called the Lole White Tour and it's happening this Saturday, August 12th in the Old Port! This event is insanely popular every year and this year will be even bigger, lasting the entire day with tons of great events dedicated to yoga, meditation, music and wellness! 

This tour takes place all over the world where beginners and experts come together, all wearing white, to enjoy yoga in a serene outdoor experience! 

Tickets for this event will cost $44 per yoga class and will include a free Lole yoga mat, a Lole gift card, and a gift bag. There will be 2 huge session throughout the day, one in the morning from 10:15am-11:30am, and one in the evening from 4:45pm-6pm. 

Each session will begin with a 15 minute musical performance and will be followed by a 15 minute meditation session.

Put away the colorful leggings and bright tops, this is a day for wearing white (or at least a white top and light colored bottoms) to show solidarity as a symbol or peace. The actual yoga session will be about an hour and will be followed by cool down, meditation, discussion, and live music. The official LWT stops will be in Montreal and Toronto this year, but don’t fret, there will be many more intimate settings throughout the world with the Lolë White Tour On the Road.
