Having only been to this venue downstairs before I was disheartened by the noise coming upstairs from downstairs. This definitely impacted on the support The Borgias who were having to compete with the noise which made it difficult to know how good they sounded. Thankfully My Baby create enough sound that this did not affect their set. Right from the outset they brought the room to life displaying an energy that the audience revelled in, so much so that the approximately hour and a half set seemed to pass in the blink of an eye. I have had the good fortune to see My Baby 3 times now and somehow they manage to raise the bar everytime so here's looking forward to the next time they visit the Birmingham area

Coming alongside a really strong new album (Prehistoric Rhythm), I expected a lot of this show. I was not disappointed: the band is justifiably confident and musically brilliant, and the sensual, mystical sound of the music is even better live than on the CD. There wasn't much banter but there was a shedload of rocking out. A super enthusiastic audience got really stuck in, and by the end of the set I didn't even care what the band was playing just as long as they kept going. Sweaty? Yes. Loud? Very. And completely addictive too.
Probably the best gig you'll see all year! Yesterday's gig in Wiesbaden rocked the house. The music set had the crowd dancing from the start. Excellent mix of funk psychedelic. If like me you enjoy listening to MY BABY at home, just go to a gig - you'll be impressed!!
Phenomenal. 90 minutes of non stop, driving psychedelic dance music. What talent! What excellent musicians. I am still smiling! Thank you for making this old geezer so happy. I thoroughly urge you to go and see My Baby at every chance you get.
A fantastic evening of voodoolicious delta groove. I would highly recommend this band to anyone unlucky enough to not have seen them yet. Catch them live in a small venue and get right down the front.

What's the Real Story Behind the 'Dingo Ate My Baby' Quote?
The famous line has a very tragic backstory., nur ibrahim, published aug. 28, 2021.
In August 1980, an Australian family suffered a tragedy while camping in Uluru (also known as Ayer’s Rock) in Northern Territory, Australia. Lindy and Michael Chamberlain’s baby, Azaria, was taken from their tent by a dingo, a breed of wild dog. Lindy reportedly screamed “A dingo ate my baby!” which became a punchline across the country, and even the world.
After a wide search, Azaria’s body was never found. Even though an inquest initially accepted Lindy's word that Azaria had been taken by a dingo, she was later accused of murdering her own child. She was tried for murder and sentenced to life in prison. Her husband, Michael, was later convicted of being an accessory after the fact. But the discovery of new evidence vindicated the couple years later, and Lindy was freed.
The whole saga exposed numerous issues in Australian society: attitudes towards women, the role of the media, the entertainment industry, the judiciary, and the process of investigations. There was even a film about the tragedy released in 1988 called “A Cry in the Dark,” with actors Meryl Streep and Sam Neill portraying the real-life couple.
The actual quote, “A dingo ate my baby,” often varies in popular culture. The night Azaria was taken, some news outlets quoted Lindy as saying “A dingo’s got my baby,” while others stated that she said, “A dingo stole my baby.” Regardless, variations of this quote became ubiquitous and often a running joke.
In 1981, due to evidence found in a second inquest after the disappearance, charges were pressed against Lindy for murder. The evidence was based on traces of fetal hemoglobin, only found in babies who are six months old or younger, found on Azaria’s clothes with a human-sized handprint, and in the Chamberlains’ car.
Much of the case was sensationalized by the media, particularly the family’s religion, which was misunderstood. They were Seventh-day Adventists, a Christian denomination that is not widely known, and is regarded with skepticism by other Christian groups, partly due to their practice of marking Sabbath on Saturdays rather than Sundays. The media speculated that Azaria was killed in a grisly cult-like ritual.
In an interview with "60 Minutes Australia" in 1986, Lindy can be seen weeping, denying she killed her child, and adding, “I loved that little girl.”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRyeAkP17aM In 1982, Lindy started her life sentence in a Darwin prison , while maintaining that she was innocent. Michael was convicted of being an accessory to murder and received a bond.
Then in 1986, a chance accident led to the discovery of Azaria’s jacket.
An English backpacker named David Brett, had slipped and plunged to his death while climbing Uluru. While police searched for him, they found a child’s small white jacket, half buried and close to dingo lairs. This discovery vindicated the couple, and days after Lindy identified the jacket, she was released from jail. In 2012, more than 30 years later, the coroner closed the case, ruling that the baby had indeed been taken by a dingo.
The couple divorced a few years after they were exonerated. Michael died in 2017 after complications from leukemia. But he spent years trying to clear his family name. Lindy also campaigned to have dingos acknowledged as a danger to humans.
In a 2020 miniseries titled “Lindy Chamberlain: The True Story,” she opened up about the kind of hate mail she received during that time, revealing that she held onto those letters, despite the cruel accusations she heard. “Lindy, you should be hung up to the nearest tree," one letter stated. "99.5% of the people know you are guilty."
"Murderer, murderer," stated another letter. "You murdered the baby because it wasn't normal."

Ciara Shares Post-Baby Weight Loss Journey for Upcoming Tour: 'Trying to Lose 70lbs'
The singer has shared the progress she's made after welcoming a baby No. 4 in December.
Ciara is tracking her weight loss journey as she looks to drop 70 pounds after welcoming her fourth child last December.
Earlier this week, the singer hopped on Instagram to reveal her weight, while adding that she plans to lose 70 pounds of post-baby weight.
"Trying to lose 70lbs post baby, prepare for a show and tour while breastfeeding, and running my businesses," she wrote alongside a photo of herself. "Shout out to all my mammas out there gettin in, I see you! ToughSh$t."
View this photo on Instagram
Ciara subsequently added a series of photos in which she revealed her current weight alongside a slideshow of images of what's happening in her life these days.
Back in December, Ciara and Russell Wilson welcomed their third child together, a baby girl. Amora Princess Wilson, born at nine pounds, one ounce, shares a middle name with her older sister, six-year-old Sienna Princess. Ciara and Wilson also have a three-year-old son Win Harrison, and the singer is mother to nine-year-old son Future Zahir with her ex, Future .

Ciara Is Opening Up About Her Post Baby Weight Loss Journey
Goodbye goodies: ciara shares her journey to losing 70 post-baby pounds in preparation for tour.

The “Goodies” singer shared that she is trying to lose 70 pounds after giving birth to her fourth child and third with husband Russell Wilson .
“Trying to lose 70lbs post baby, prepare for a show and tour while breastfeeding, and running my businesses,” she caption a post on Instagram. “Shout out to all my mammas out there gettin in, I see you! ToughSh$t.”
Though many moms express wanting to shape up their postpartum bodies, Ciara is also in the midst of preparing for a tour alongside Missy Elliott and Busta Rhymes .
The tour kicks off on July 4 in Vancouver, Canada, giving Cici a few more months to get into show shape.
Though we don’t know her starting weight, it’s clear that she’s been getting her “1,2 Step” on as she posted a picture of a scale reading 181 pounds. Something tells us she’ll hit her goal weight in no time.
Ciara and Wilson ‘s youngest daughter, Amora, was born in December 2023. The couple’s son, Win Harrison, came into the world three years prior. And their daughter Sienna Princess recently celebrated her sixth birthday. The singer’s son, Future Zahir, whom she shares with professional baby maker rapper Future , is nine.
There’s no word on whether or not the Wilsons are done growing their beautiful family but, for now, Ciara is focused on making us Get Up this summer. Her postpartum body has been making heads turn nonetheless but if she plans on getting even finer, we won’t complain.
Despite her musical success, Ciara has headlined very few tours. Following the release of her critically acclaimed debut album Goodies , Ciara joined Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Lovers Tour in 2005. She later joined Chris Brown and Bow Wow for their Holiday Jam Tour . The massive success of her sophomore album Ciara: The Evolution resulted in a 17-city tour in 2006. She’d later join Rihanna on the UK leg of her Good Girl Gone Bad tour.
Ciara was a special guest on Britney Spears’ Circus tour in June 2009 for eight nights in the UK before taking over a decade away from live shows. She’ll definitely be ready to take audiences on a “Ride” this summer.

Scottie Scheffler talks fatherhood after winning fourth tournament in 5 starts
Scottie Scheffler on Monday won his second tournament in as many weeks and fourth in five starts.
As on April 14 when he won the Masters , Scheffler told reporters Monday after claiming the RBC Heritage crown that his celebration plans center on flying home to his pregnant wife, Meredith.
“I’m going to have a breakfast burrito and some coffee, and I’m going to go home,” he said.
Scheffler said that he and Meredith are still trying to wrap their heads around the idea of becoming parents and that they’re leaning on his parents for “a good amount of advice.”
“Hopefully I’ll be a good dad. I’m going to do my best,” he said.
Scottie Scheffler stats
Scheffler will embark on his fatherhood journey from the top of the game of golf.
The No. 1 ranked male golfer has made history with his recent play and invited comparisons to golf legend Tiger Woods.
Here are some key stats from the PGA Tour :
- Scheffler needed just 51 starts to secure 10 PGA Tour wins. The only player to need fewer was David Duval, who won 10 times in 33 starts.
- Scheffler has finished at par or better in 40 consecutive rounds at PGA Tour events. The current record is 52 consecutive rounds of par or better, which was set by Woods in 2000 and 2001.
- The last player to win a tournament the week after winning a major was Woods in 2006.
When will Scottie Scheffler play next?
Scheffler is not in the field for this week’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans , and he is not expected to play again until mid-May, according to The Washington Post.
“Scheffler likely will not play again until next month’s PGA Championship at Valhalla in Louisville, where he will attempt to become only the eighth golfer to win the first two major championships of the year (the last was Jordan Spieth in 2015),” The Washington Post reported.
Sometime before then, Meredith and Scottie Scheffler are expected to welcome their first child.
“It’s an exciting time for Meredith and me and the rest of our family, and we’re looking forward to this next journey in our life,” Scheffler said Monday.
Scheffler also told reporters that he’s “keeping (his) head down” and trying not to listen to all the buzz surrounding his current level of play.
“I’m the same guy I was two months ago. I’ll be the same person two months from now no matter what happens,” he said.
