New, Unique, Nordhavn 96 World Cruiser

' src=

Wow! Take a look at the latest Nordhavn 96, a massive, powerful, blue-water cruiser that fulfills the company’s promise to take its owners to the corners of the world, or anywhere else they might want to go. The exterior lines, while impressive, are still recognizable as a Nordhavn. But take a look at everything else, inside and out, to see what can be done.

The new Nordhavn, named New Journey , is hull #18 of the 96 series. It was delivered to its new owners last month. They didn’t waste any time, heading south to the Sea of Cortez and then north, going uphill against the prevailing winds and current, about 1,500 nm to Victoria, British Columbia, where they are now. The owners plan to spend the summer in Alaska, and them embark on a five-year world cruise next spring.

World cruises are nothing new for Nordhavns. A Nordhavn 40 cruised around the world in 2001 and 2002, and Nordhavns have completed nine other circumnavigations since then.

The new owners are a recently retired couple who wanted to a built a luxurious haven for relaxing and entertaining friends and family. They worked with Jeff Leishman, Nordhavn’s design chief, starting with their own cabin amidships, the most stable part of the yacht. It is large enough to hold an on-board office, with a table and two settees built on top of a raised platform as a workstation. Large windows fitted with Smartglass offer views outside; they can be switched to an opaque setting for privacy.

New Journey has three guest staterooms, all with their own heads, on the accommodations deck. It also has two separate crew quarters.

Up top, the enclosed Skylounge is built for the owners’ “free time” activities, and it includes fitness equipment recessed into the deck sole for headroom clearance and a dedicated music area so the owner, an avid musician, can  play the drums with his friends.

The Skylounge also has a curved bar and lounge, looking like a nightclub, with an open space for dancing. The underside of the hardtop has a recessed, color-changing LED light strip. There’s also a barbecue up there, plus a hot tub. A dining area is next to the bar, where an L-shaped settee surrounds two high-low tables that can be converted to a dining table for eight.

Another bar is on the aft deck for more casual dining and entertaining, with a boat-shaped dining table for ten, all protected by removable Eisenglass.

The owners worked with Scott Cole of Ardeo Design in Bainbridge Island, Washington, to create interior and exterior areas emphasizing warmth. The backdrops feature subtle textures, woven leathers and natural colors. The interior includes raised paneling on doors and inset panels on drawers, fabric-wrapped wall panels, mosaic-glass tiles, stone countertops, and leather-wrapped handrails.

For exploring, New Journey has two sets of davits. One holds a custom 18-foot GXE tender with a diesel outboard so it can be refueled from the yacht’s main tanks. A second davit is on the upper deck for launching toys and an electric jet ski.

NORDHAVN 96

Nordhavn 96.

new journey yacht owner

She is based on the hull of the very successful Nordhavn 86, and incorporates a 10-foot cockpit extension that allows for space bumps in several areas of the boat including below decks in the crew area and lazarette; at main deck level in the cockpit and saloon; on the pilothouse deck with a larger sky lounge or upper master stateroom (depending on layout); and an even more capacious fly bridge. Fuel capacity remains the same, although slight gains in fuel burn are likely due to the N96’s longer water line. Displacement also stays virtually the same. “It is a fairly easy procedure to extend the molds,” says Jeff Leishman, PAE’s Chief of Design. And it is an efficient way to give a customer the additional space they are seeking without the drastic cost of building an entirely new hull. Nordhavn has employed this method of thinking with several of its other models including the N52 (based on the N47 hull), the N60 and 63 (based on the N55 hull), the N68 (based on the N64 hull) and the N76 (based on the N72 hull), and the approach has been a hugely successful one. The stretched out models proved themselves to be so advantageous that, as a result, they have become more popular than their predecessors. And contrary to published reports, there is zero downside to adding hull extensions. Says Leishman: “These types of modifications have actually demonstrated to enhance performance.”

Imagine having access to the luxuries of a 100-foot boat at a smaller boat investment. With the Nordhavn 96 it’s possible: using the already enormous N86 hull as a jumping off point, the amplified superstructure of the 96 ups the ante in interior volume with accommodations that are nothing short of remarkable. The saloon and galley measures 43 feet in length and the combination of wheelhouse, captain’s cabin and sky lounge measure almost 34 feet in length. She includes a vast, full-width owner’s suite in addition to the captain’s cabin, three guest staterooms with ensuite heads, plus the spacious crew wing which comprises a roomy cabin and head aft with exterior entrance. A laundry and utility room are also provided. The luxurious and functional interior is finished with fine hardwoods, beautiful moldings and raised panels combined with stone floors, granite countertops, the finest hardware, lighting and fixtures. Like the N86, the interior of the Nordhavn 96 is customizeable to the owner’s personal vision.

Driving the hull are twin MTU Series 60 engines rated at 600 hp each spinning 48-inch propellers through 4.59 to 1 reduction gears allow a transatlantic cruising speed of 10 knots. With over 7,000 gallons of fuel aboard and throttled back to the 9 knot range, this new design can run roughly 4,000 miles before refueling. The twin configuration includes integral skegs and two large attached rudders for maximum directional control and propellers that are protected within their own apertures. The advanced high-pressure, common rail, electronically injected engines are fitted with wet exhaust, commercial rated transmissions with large reduction gears and offer efficiency and reliability never before possible.

An extensive list of standard machinery details includes central hydraulics with 20-square-foot stabilizers, 50 hp bow and stern thrusters, hydraulic bilge pumping and anchor wash downs, dual Onan generators, a universal AC electrical system for worldwide use, 3,500 lb. Marquipt davit, chilled water air-conditioning system, 2000 gallons-per-day water maker, automatic engine room and lazarette fire system with ventilation dampeners, an on-deck Jacuzzi and much more.

The Nordhavn 96 truly is the ideal boat for the yachtsman looking to step up his game. For one busy N86 owner looking to move up, it was the layout and roomy, separated crew quarters of the N96 – ideal for his full-time four-person crew – that cinched the deal over other similar-sized boats. The Nordhavn 96 gave him the bigger boat he needed and the brand he trusted.

Besides its almost unique Rascal Blue finished paint on the exterior hull it is onboard that really shines for the new owners. Alot of work went into finishing out the boat to exacting specifications and the finished product is one to admire. Below we glimpse the finishes that adorn the main salon. Visual and tactile textures are on display in this room whether it is from the visual of the grain direction of the wood work or the depth to the touch of textile used on the area carpets and upholstery. Not to mention the visual contrast between the woods and said textiles while the upholstery offers muted and light appeal the woods are darker but not overly so.

Moving forward, there is a bar that steadfastly separates the galley from the main salon area. It certainly is large enough to seat eight and perhaps can be utilized for informal dining. In the galley, while there is counter space on the sides of the space, perhaps most of the food and cooking preparation will be carried out on the purpose-built island. The space looks worthy to be in a 'high-brow' land-based mansion.

new journey yacht owner

Moving back through the space and heading outside to the aft main deck one will find the cockpit which is fitted with the usual built-in bench seating and accompanying table. Here we see extra seating added to make the cockpit an actual full dining venue. The space is buttoned-up with an isinglass-like product for climate control. While there are work areas off to the sides for line-handling the area in general still feels justified as an informal dining region.

Heading up to the flybridge, the area is much more than a secondary place to helm the yacht from but more of a relaxing spot for owner and guests. There is a jacuzzi situated aft, a bar to starboard under the hardtop and to port there is built-in seating complemented by two tables that can remain small as surfaces for cocktails or be expanded for al-fresco indulgences. Take a look at the blue mosaic on the bar! Notice the blue cove lighting on the hardtop, blue lighting seems to be a bit of a theme onboard along with the Rascal Blue hull colour.

The deck below sits the bridge where the majority of the navigation will be conducted, especially on long passages. There are multiple large-format flat screens here that are multi-function (with the ability to show multiple displays and information simultaneously). All information pertaining to navigation, systems monitoring, security, hotel loading, comfort and safety can all be done from the wheelhouse. The glass for the forward bridge windows are in the typical Nordhavn style (slightly negative sloping). Notice, there is a huge single-piece of glazing installed not interrupted by window mullions.

Head to the opposite end of the boat, down on the lower deck is where you will find guest accommodations. Below is an example of the how the cabins look with spacious accommodation on offer. This is a centerline king with proper side nightstands and a platform diner-alcove style relaxing area by one of the hull windows. Storage is incorporated into any available surroundings. The most spacious layouts tend to have the the accommodation in the hull. The master suite forward, two or three guest cabins mixed between doubles and twins.

The N96 carries on with similar characteristics from the N86 just with the extra length added to the aft cockpit. That extra length not only makes the cockpit more spacious and in the case of New Journey , it also translates into extra space in a number of other areas on the boat. It allows for space bumps below decks in the crew area and lazarette; at main deck level in the cockpit and salon; on the pilothouse deck with a larger sky lounge or upper master stateroom (depending on layout); and an even more capacious fly bridge. Nordhavn Delivers Latest Motor Yacht NEW JOURNEY

By Frances Flannagan

Show-stopping NEW JOURNEY has been delivered and has already begun her global excursions. She is a beautiful example of a successful collaboration between Owner and Designer, with their visions being brought to life throughout the entirety of the yacht.

NEW JOURNEY is the 18th Hull of Nordvhan 's N96 series and has successfully been delivered to her owners. She immediately embarked on a six-week maiden voyage, setting the precedent for the spectacular journeys she will make over the next several years. Her owners requested a floating resort which will serve as a base to their global excursions; a luxurious haven which has been achieved beautifully.

Jeff Leishman, Nordhavn’s Chief of Design, worked closely with the owners to develop a yacht that provided comfort and enjoyment. NEW JOURNEY was developed to perfectly reflect the owner’s requests, showcasing their personalities in her design, with a skylounge tailored to suit their hobbies including recessing fitness equipment into the deck and a dedicated music practice-room space.

A full-time crew of four along with a rotating guest list are among those who will join the owner’s on their cruises. Sociability is at the heart of the design, with three ensuite guest staterooms and a convertible guest cabin alongside the owner's suite and two separate crew quarters.

NEW JOURNEY can be described as a personal cruise ship; she is equipped with two bars, a boat-shaped dining table that seats ten people and a second dining area that includes two hi-low cocktail tables that convert into a second large dining table that seats eight. From casual and relaxed dining and entertainment to formal dinners, NEW JOURNEY contains spaces which can suit every occasion.

Community, warmth, and group synergy were important elements for the owners. They worked with Scott Cole of Ardeo Design to reflect these concepts in the interior as well as the outdoor areas. The idea of warmth can be seen in the crafting of the communal and individual spaces, which are set within a backdrop that features a natural colour palette, with subtle textures and woven leathers; a transitional style interior which is as subtle as it is remarkable.

The brief for the flybridge showcases the boat’s theme of group synergy; the ultimate social spot being created with a show-stopping, nightclub-inspired curved bar and lounge area with an open space for dancing, a colour-changing LED light strip and a hot tub.

The notion of ‘work hard, play hard’ comes to life in NEW JOURNEY, with an area in the owner’s cabin providing the ideal workstation. It has large windows with Smartglass offering the choice of a spectacular view or an opaque setting for privacy and focus.

NEW JOURNEY has been built with remote cruising in mind, with two davits; one specifically for their 18’ custom GXE tender and one reserved for launching toys.

Superyachts.com would like to congratulate Nordhavn on this show-stopping delivery and wish NEW JOURNEY the best of luck for the spectacular journeys she will embark on.

Boat of the Week: Meet ‘Boardwalk,’ Houston Rockets Owner Tilman Fertitta’s Showstopping 252-Foot Superyacht

At the end of February, Houston billionaire Tilman Fertitta and his family held an annual Mardi Gras celebration, which they call the San Luis Salute. The event, which included local officials and celebrities, was headlined by the band Maroon 5. But the most visible VIP guest at the gala was Fertitta’s majestic new superyacht, Boardwalk.

The 252-foot Feadship is indeed a showstopper. It was the largest vessel at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, and hundreds of people walking the docks took selfies against Boardwalk ’s towering stern, with a H130 helicopter perched on the top deck. Fertitta and his family enjoyed the show from the comfort of the yacht—from the main-deck’s rear cockpit lounge to be precise.

It’s Fertitta’s favorite spot on his new yacht, a sanctuary protected from the wind and sun, but still exposed to the ocean. It’s also a microcosm of Boardwalk ’s very intricate design. The stern has the requisite lounges, bar and large flat-screen television, but that’s where it differs from other yachts. The ceiling has delicate curves, there are many lights embedded into the area above the bar, and the trim on the columns supporting the stern’s overhang is highly stylized.

“I don’t think any other owner pays as much attention to the details,” Fertitta told Robb Report during a visit to the yacht. “If you look at the bigger yachts, they really don’t vary much with standard features like ceilings and lighting.”

“Tilman came in with all the important details—all the details that really make the difference in this boat,” adds Amy Halffman, who worked closely with Fertitta on the design. “He’s an extreme detail man, down to the quarter of an inch.”

The Houston entrepreneur has made a highly successful career out of paying attention to the details. Named by Forbes as the “World’s Wealthiest Restaurateur,” the chairman of Fertitta Entertainment and chairman of Landry’s has an empire that also includes the Houston Rockets NBA team, multiple restaurants, Bentley and Rolls-Royce dealerships, and five-star hotels.

Fertitta’s Post Oak Hotel in Houston, in fact, provided inspiration for Boardwalk . “We spent a lot of time meeting at the hotel,” says Halffman. “He had a lot of input into that design, which is classy and elegant, so we decided to reflect that style on the yacht.”

This Feadship is actually Halffman’s fifth yacht project with Fertitta, the other four Boardwalks being a succession of ever-larger Westports, the most recent being 165 feet in length. After owning it for 12 years, “it felt like time for a larger project,” says Fertitta. “One that was more complex and elaborate.”

While upsizing by almost 100 feet sounds like a simple hull stretch, the Feadship has 1,848 gross tonnes of interior volume, compared to 492 on the last Westport—in other words, the latest Boardwalk has nearly four times as much interior as the last one. That makes not only for a very complicated build—something which bespoke builder Feadship is used to—but also a new mindset for the interior design, which the design team needed to wrap their heads around.

Halffman and design partner Frank Woll came up with the concept about four years ago, and then worked closely with the owner on the yacht’s many features. There are hundreds of features, seen and unseen, that distinguish the interior.

The most noticeable—arresting, in fact—is a whimsical, fantasy-like sculpture of a bronze female form with a dress of flowing crystals, diamonds and pearls. The work by Estella Fransbergen is strategically placed in the main entry. “She’s like a guardian angel,” says the sculptor, noting it took nearly two years to complete. “She was originally going to be placed by the staircase, but we moved her so she greets everyone.”

“I’d seen Estella’s work years ago and admired it,” says Halffman. “The torso of the woman’s body appealed to everyone and proved to be a launchpad for me. It played off all the other features.” They include an enormous crystal in the main foyer, pendant chandeliers in the formal dining area beside a case with crystal wear, and bespoke crystal light fixtures on the nearby stairway—which also has a beautiful stainless railing that resembles a feature from the last Boardwalk , but on a much grander scale.

The designers looked for striking but elegant stones—a white opal for the salon and an onice grigio for the sky lounge—mixed with Sapele, mahogany and other dark-stained woods that show contrast with the light-colored fabrics and tiling. The wine cellar even has a custom stainless-steel design that gives it a distinctive look. In all, 55 stones, marbles and tiles were used across the yacht.

Of course, all these stunning details were made possible by the ubiquitous placement of lighting, both direct and indirect, something that Fertitta understands with almost a scientific precision. His previous Westport had four times more lights than the yard had ever put on the 164-foot series. This Feadship paid even more attention to the lighting. Even the beach club, with its lounge and dedicated dive and watersports locker, has a stylish, deliberate look. The bar has a light fixture comprised of Swarovski crystals.

The yacht, though immense, is easy to navigate. Fertitta and longtime captain Tristan Judson paid attention to the functional aspects, creating an open foredeck where the two Hogdon-built tenders are stored, adding the ability to use the massive area for social occasions. The sundeck has a mosaic-tiled swimming pool, and above that is an observation deck with a mast. On that level, one gets a sense of how large Boardwalk really is, surrounded by smaller superyachts at the Fort Lauderdale show.

The intricate details on the day head—typically a forgotten space—give a sense of the how the design team approached the interior.  Courtesy Fertitta Entertainment

Still, the owner and his designers managed to keep a sense of intimacy throughout, installing what they call a “country kitchen” as the owner’s galley, to allow more informal meals and socializing than the main dining room, while retaining the yacht’s professional galley for the staff on another deck. Fertitta, who often works on board, has an office dressed with light-colored fabrics, lounges and glass doors to access the exterior decks.

The Feadship may not be Fertitta’s last yacht. Rumor has it that he’s talking to European yards about an even larger Boardwalk . When asked about it, he says simply: “I love to build things.”

Some other angles.

Have you ever bought something big, something really big, (like a yacht) and then wondered what exactly you had gotten yourself into? Well, becoming a yacht owner is a lot like having a baby. It’s wonderful; but, at the same time, you may be left wondering “are there some important things I should know about here?”

If this is your case, go ahead and sail through our list of 8 important pointers before voyaging out to sea.

#1: Steer Slowly

Do you want to look like a pro even on your first run out to sea? Well then, slow and steady wins the race. Pilot your craft with grace: steer with slow, sure movements and you will be off to a great start in the world of classy yachting.

Motor Yacht

#2: Create a Yacht Launch Checklist

Create a yacht launch checklist with everything you will need on your yacht for smooth sailing ! You might want to remind yourself about simple things, like keeping a VHF handheld on board (these are radios you can use to contact surrounding crafts or someone onshore for help in case of a storm: channel 16 is the international distress channel).

Be sure to check through your list as part of your final checks before launching. This can be very helpful in case anything slips your mind and has “missed the boat.” Nobody wants to be without on the waves!

#3: Prep Your Yacht for Launch Away from the Launch Ramp

Nobody wants to be that guy at the launch ramp who looks like he doesn’t know exactly what he’s doing.

Take our advice, and before backing your yacht into the launch area, make sure you have done all of the pre-launch prep that you can beforehand (such as attaching your dock line ), so you don’t hold up any boaters who might be behind you.

Showing consideration for others is a wonderful part of the yachting world, and boaters and yachters alike will appreciate your understanding of this!

Motor Yacht

#4: Dress in Layers!

Pile on the layers when you go out to sea. It may be tempting to just jump out of bed in shorts and sandals and head on down to the water, and we don’t blame! Many experienced yachters know, however, that it’s a good idea to layer up when heading out to sea. The weather on the water can be vastly different from the shore.

With just a pair of shorts on, you may find yourself wishing for that snazzy-looking windbreaker you left behind! If it happens to be warm out on the ocean, it’s definitely easy to de-layer. But preparation can make you a comfortable boatman on this point.

#5: Pay Attention to the Weather

Be attentive to weather forecasts , and make sure you are flexible with your plans if the weather takes a turn for the worse. Rough seas can be hard to handle for even the most seasoned sailor, and you don’t want to be lost somewhere calling mayday on the deep blue sea! Check your local channel forecasts before setting sail!

Also, while you’re out, if the weather starts to get a little ominous, it might be a good idea to head back to the slip. Choppy waters are hard to navigate and may turn your adventure into a headache! Weather the storm in the marina for a much better and more relaxing experience.

Weather at Sea Royalty Free

#7: Check Your Anchor

Before sailing, check on your anchor and chain. Untangle if necessary and do a quick check of the links. You don’t want a tangled chain if you need to do a quick anchor drop sometime during your voyage!

Sometimes emergencies may require that you anchor quickly, but a tangled anchor chain can kind of slow that whole process down. Be smart, be prepared, and check on that anchor.

#8: Be a Good Navigator

While you are out at sea, you may get distracted by the guests on your yacht, the beautiful scenery, the lovely weather, and all kinds of other things.  But make sure you have a destination plan and know your landmarks.

Also, keep in mind that modern technical equipment can be very useful for finding your way around, so having a working knowledge of equipment on your craft is definitely advised. Use landmarks and navigational tools to keep on track so you don’t lose your way!

Malta Yacht Royalty Free

#8: Follow Capacity Guidelines for Your Craft

It really is pretty helpful to follow the full capacity suggestions for your craft before putting your yacht to sea. “The more the merrier” is a true enough, but you might find a greater truth to be “the more the soggier…” in the case of an overloaded sea craft!

Fantastic blog! Thanks for letting me know about these things. Keep sharing such informative blogs.

Thanks James! So glad you enjoyed the post :)

Thanks for sharing, it’s useful!

Most welcome – hopefully we can inspire you to jump from the road to the water! … Re the name driving directions :)

First of all, I didn’t know anything much about a Yacht, apart from the fact that it’s too cool and looks gorgeous. Lol, so your post educated me about Yacht and I’m glad to know that there are so many things to keep in mind. Thanks for sharing Megan :)

So glad we could help you out with learning something new! But you’re definitely right that they’re cool and gorgeous too :D

Owning my own yacht is like a dream. If that dream ever comes true, then your pointers are going to come to my rescue as I gloat over my new acquisition. On a serious note, the post is really very informative and interesting as well.

So glad you enjoyed the information Sandy & Vyjay! Will keep our fingers crossed for you that a yacht is in your not too distant future :)

Wait, you guys bought a yacht? Or is this just an exceptionally well-researched article from a non-yacht-owner? Years ago I went sailing a bunch of times (with someone else in charge of the vital task of navigation), but I can’t imagine dealing with the responsibilities and hassles of actually owning a vessel. And I would always get nervous when the weather started to look ominous, like would we make it to port in time? Your photo of the lightning is beautiful, though, but that’s definitely something best appreciated when you’re not actually out on the water. One time, the thunderstorm came just after we had tied up in the marina, and we were still on the boat, and a bolt of lightning hit either our mast or one of a boat nearby, and it felt like our boat JUMPED.

We have friends who recently purchased one – very jealous! You’re right though there are a huge amount of responsibilities which come with owning one – obviously totally worthwhile though if you enjoy the lifestyle and the mode of travel which comes with it :)

Happy you liked the photos! I actually really love watching storms, and they make for amazingly dramatic photos, but yes, I don’t think it’s ever something you get used to when you’re actually right there in the thick of it with nothing around you but sea!

Happy travels Harvey!

A lot of good tips and insights for driving a yacht! For me, I am mostly the passenger of a yacht so, it’s great to know that actually there are a lot of things to pay attention to! @ knycx.journeying

Glad you enjoyed the post Kenny! Yes, being a passenger is just as much fun too!

' src=

What a dream it would be to be a yacht owner! But, we know nothing about driving a boat. Seems hard, so for now we’d stick to being the passenger. What a nice and fun thing to own though!

Being a passenger is a great compromise :)

Awesome post! Definitely some very helpful info and advice. Dressing in layers is certainly important to keep in mind. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Selene – glad you enjoyed the post!

These are amazing tips. I like that you remind new owners on thinking about the weather changes because many would not think that. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks McKenzie, glad the post was helpful for you :) Yes, being prepared for weather changes is one which most tend to learn the hard way!

5 things to know about North Palm Beach mega-yacht owner, billionaire Michael Bozzuto

new journey yacht owner

Billionaire Michael Bozzuto is fighting for the right to moor his 164-foot mega-yacht behind a waterfront house he owns at 932 Shore Dr. in North Palm Beach.

But the Village of North Palm Beach has told Bozzuto he doesn't have this right.

It's the latest example of how big money landing in Florida is running up against Old Florida residents who want their communities to stay low-key.

After years of disputes over the yacht, Bozzuto recently filed a lawsuit against the municipality, asking a judge to agree that he has the right to the use of his house and his dock.

Who is Michael Bozzuto, and why is he suing the Village of North Palm Beach?

Here are five things to know:

1. Billionaire Michael Bozzuto is a longtime North Palm Beach resident

Bozzuto is the billionaire owner of a privately held, family-owned supermarket wholesaler in Connecticut called Bozzuto's Inc. The company is a distributor of food and household products to retailers in New England, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Bozzuto's was founded by Michael's late father, Adam.

Even though Bozzuto's Inc. is based in Connecticut, Bozzuto has lived in the Village of North Palm Beach, population 13,000, for 20 years.

2. Besides owning a yacht, what are Michael Bozzuto's hobbies?

In addition to being a businessman, Bozzuto is an investor and philanthropist. He is a longtime supporter of the Special Olympics.

He is also an under-the-radar resident who likes to collect houses and yachts, said his lawyer, former Florida Bar president Gregory Coleman.

Bozzuto bought the motor yacht, Honey, about 10 years ago for an undisclosed sum. The Westport mega-yacht was built in 2007 and is the largest of several yachts Bozzuto owns.

More: Cannonsport Marina sells for $58.5 million in big deal for tiny Palm Beach Shores

Bozzuto also owns four houses in the Village of North Palm Beach. This includes the house at 932 Shore Dr., where he wants to dock Honey. In 2014, Bozzuto paid $840,247 for the house, which was built in 1961, according to Palm Beach County property records.

The property is on a rare corner bordered on the north and east by navigable waters that provide access to the Atlantic Ocean via the Lake Worth Inlet. The east-facing dock is large enough to accommodate Honey.

Bozzuto's residence is in another part of North Palm Beach, on Harbour Isles Court.

More: Illegal boat slips are popping near Palm Beach Gardens. Residents want regulators to act

3. Michael Bozzuto's net worth isn't known but billionaire owns property outside of North Palm Beach, too

Bozzuto made waves recently when in January he paid $31.1 million for a waterfront house in nearby Palm Beach Shores.

The Singer Island house with two docks stretches into the Intracoastal Waterway just north of the Palm Beach/Lake Worth Inlet. The three-lot parcel on 1.5 acres has about 200 feet of waterfront.

The property was bought from an owner whose family had owned it for decades. It's unclear if Bozzuto will make any changes to the property.

In a brief interview in February, Bozzuto said: “It’s a house, and it will probably be a house."

Twin City Mall: North Palm clears way for redevelopment, taller buildings at landmark site

4. Why can't Bozzuto park his yacht behind his North Palm Beach house?

The Village of North Palm Beach rules say that a private dock or pier can only be used by the occupant of the house. But the village doesn't define the word "occupant."

Bozzuto's lawsuit said while the village has discussed whether to define an occupant as a resident, it never has done so.

Hundreds of other property owners dock a boat behind their North Palm Beach house but do not live there year-round.

Therefore Bozzuto said he's being singled out because neighbors just don't like his boat's big size. This selective enforcement is wrong, his lawsuit said.

Show me the money? Here it is: West Palm and Palm Beach rank in top 5 as cities with fastest growth in millionaires

5. What does North Palm Beach think about the lawsuit?

Unfortunately, this is a mystery until the village responds to Bozzuto's lawsuit in public court records.

The village's longtime lawyer, Lenard Rubin, who knows the municipality's history with boats and houses, did not respond to requests for comment. Neither did the village's manager, Chuck Huff.

Zodiac Yachtline 500 Club 1996

This is a one owner 1996 Zodiac Yacht-line 500 Club. The boat is in good shape, and it has been the most dependable running outboard money can buy. The tube-set is only about 5 years old. Engine is original, but runs like a top. It is oil injected. Cushions are worn out, but not torn or ripped...the foam is just falling apart inside. Boat has a blue-tooth stereo with (2) Fusion SIgnature Series Speakers all in good working condition.Trailer is the original Shorelander steel single axle trailer, and is perfectly functional and ready to go down the road. Lights all work, and were replaced a couple years ago.Boat is being sold as-is. This is a great boat, and has never let me down. It just rarely gets used anymore, and it's time for a new home. It was on a shore-station this summer and was run frequently. I can say with confidence - the boat runs great and is dependable.Things it will need: a new "stow away" nav light for the red and green navigation lights, new cushions, a good detail. Otherwise, everything works.Comes with one (6) gallon removable fuel tank, but has room for two.

I highly recommend this dessert that I din't know its name but you can show its pic to the waiter.

Lovely food let down by service and sarcastic waiter although this could be a cultural difference! We were charged for condiments ie Olive oil etc but minor cost so that’s fine although still a bit strange! Well priced restaurant

Hi! Thanks a lot for your feedback. We are really sorry for your negative experience at Zodiac. We will be glad to see you again and to apologise for the service. Thanks.

The restaurant is very nice Pan-Asian. But somehow my experience was not so nice:) first, the interior was cold. As I saw, many people were under blanket. Second, my soup was also colder than a normal soup is... I had Tom-Yum soup, it was very nicely prepared but found it really cold. My second course was Spicy chicken: nice but not special. The decor is beautiful and staff is kind.

zodiac yachtline 500 club

Pleasant atmosphere overall in the restaurant. There were many unique and interesting dishes. In particular, the desserts were special and creative. We have a gluten allergy and typically it’s difficult for us to enjoy nice special desserts. Here instead we had plenty of options and we all enjoyed a different one! Our waiter Alex was very helpful, cheerful, and nice. He explained how each dish was made and helped with the allergy problem. You have to try wabayashi dessert by Japanese star chef Yamamoto - exquisite and unique!

  • The Best Golf Clubs in…

In Russia, the western concept of building architecturally beautiful golf courses filled with modern and luxurious amenities has found fertile ground. What was considered a frivolous pastime during the time of the Soviets has become the latest trend for the stylish set. These days, there are countless options around Moscow to practice golf, polo, ski, yachting, and other sports alongside 5-star hotels, luxurious country houses, and magnificent villas.

The game of golf is a sport that requires passion and expertise. It is also part of a culture that considers this pastime a synonym of social prestige and exclusivity. In recent years, the new Russian elite has turned to golf as a vehicle of integration in the era of globalization. Golf courses are also meeting and socializing spaces where Muscovite tycoons can relax and also seal business deals.

Golf Courses in Russia

The Moscow Country Club, Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club, Tseleevo Golf & Polo Club, and Zavidovo Golf Club, PGA National Russia are some of the most exclusive and elegant golf courses in Russia. Some of them have made it to the list of Top 15 golf clubs in the world, a source of great prestige for the country.

The first 18-hole golf course built in Russia, Moscow Country Club, hosts the exclusive PGA European Tour. Located just eight miles from the city center, this luxurious facility was created by architect Robert Trent Jones Jr . The design takes advantage of a typical Russian birch and spruce forest to provide a natural environment of extraordinary beauty.

The Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club is 18 miles from the heart of Moscow, close to historical monuments from the 17th and 18th centuries. Designed by famed architects Paul and Dave Thomas , this 18-hole course is part of a complex that includes a yacht club, an equestrian center, and a health and wellness facility. Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club is Russia’s version of a classic country club with multiple attractions.

This park is among the best in Eastern Europe and was awarded the 2014 World Golf Award as the best golf course in Russia. Located 25 miles from Moscow, it is part of a vast complex featuring an 18-hole golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus , a polo club and a mountain ski club with four tracks. The design combines classic Scottish, Alpine, and English features in a dreamy landscape.

Less than 60 miles from Moscow, this golf course with a definite Scottish design is the only one in Russia recognized as a PGA (Professional Golfers’ Association) from Britain and Ireland. Located in an ecologically pristine area on the banks of the Volga River, the Zavidovo Golf Club embodies the spirit and appearance of the legendary Scottish golf courses. Its many springs and streams, hills, forests, swamps and lakes justify its reputation as a very demanding circuit. Last year, it entered the exclusive club of the 15 best golf courses in the world.   ■

The Comprehensive Guide to Moscow Nightlife

  • Posted on April 14, 2018 July 26, 2018

  • 8 minute read

zodiac yachtline 500 club

Moscow’s nightlife scene is thriving, and arguably one of the best the world has to offer – top-notch Russian women, coupled with a never-ending list of venues, Moscow has a little bit of something for everyone’s taste. Moscow nightlife is not for the faint of heart – and if you’re coming, you better be ready to go Friday and Saturday night into the early morning.

This comprehensive guide to Moscow nightlife will run you through the nuts and bolts of all you need to know about Moscow’s nightclubs and give you a solid blueprint to operate with during your time in Moscow.

What you need to know before hitting Moscow nightclubs

Prices in moscow nightlife.

Before you head out and start gaming all the sexy Moscow girls , we have to talk money first. Bring plenty because in Moscow you can never bring a big enough bankroll. Remember, you’re the man so making a fuzz of not paying a drink here or there will not go down well.

Luckily most Moscow clubs don’t do cover fees. Some electro clubs will charge 15-20$, depending on their lineup. There’s the odd club with a minimum spend of 20-30$, which you’ll drop on drinks easily. By and large, you can scope out the venues for free, which is a big plus.

Bottle service is a great deal in Moscow. At top-tier clubs, it starts at 1,000$. That’ll go a long way with premium vodka at 250$, especially if you have three or four guys chipping in. Not to mention that it’s a massive status boost for getting girls, especially at high-end clubs.

Without bottle service, you should estimate a budget of 100-150$ per night. That is if you drink a lot and hit the top clubs with the hottest girls. Scale down for less alcohol and more basic places.

Dress code & Face control

Door policy in Moscow is called “face control” and it’s always the guy behind the two gorillas that gives the green light if you’re in or out.

In Moscow nightlife there’s only one rule when it comes to dress codes:

You can never be underdressed.

People dress A LOT sharper than, say, in the US and that goes for both sexes. For high-end clubs, you definitely want to roll with a sharp blazer and a pocket square, not to mention dress shoes in tip-top condition. Those are the minimum requirements to level the playing field vis a vis with other sharply dressed guys that have a lot more money than you do. Unless you plan to hit explicit electro or underground clubs, which have their own dress code, you are always on the money with that style.

Getting in a Moscow club isn’t as hard as it seems: dress sharp, speak English at the door and look like you’re in the mood to spend all that money that you supposedly have (even if you don’t). That will open almost any door in Moscow’s nightlife for you.

Types of Moscow Nightclubs

In Moscow there are four types of clubs with the accompanying female clientele:

High-end clubs:

These are often crossovers between restaurants and clubs with lots of tables and very little space to dance. Heavy accent on bottle service most of the time but you can work the room from the bar as well. The hottest and most expensive girls in Moscow go there. Bring deep pockets and lots of self-confidence and you have a shot at swooping them.

Regular Mid-level clubs:

They probably resemble more what you’re used to in a nightclub: big dancefloors, stages and more space to roam around. Bottle service will make you stand out more but you can also do well without. You can find all types of girls but most will be in the 6-8 range. Your targets should always be the girls drinking and ideally in pairs. It’s impossible not to swoop if your game is at least half-decent.

Basic clubs/dive bars:

Usually spots with very cheap booze and lax face control. If you’re dressed too sharp and speak no Russian, you might attract the wrong type of attention so be vigilant. If you know the local scene you can swoop 6s and 7s almost at will. Usually students and girls from the suburbs.

Electro/underground clubs:

Home of the hipsters and creatives. Parties there don’t mean meeting girls and getting drunk but doing pills and spacing out to the music. Lots of attractive hipster girls if that is your niche. That is its own scene with a different dress code as well.

zodiac yachtline 500 club

What time to go out in Moscow

Moscow nightlife starts late. Don’t show up at bars and preparty spots before 11pm because you’ll feel fairly alone. Peak time is between 1am and 3am. That is also the time of Moscow nightlife’s biggest nuisance: concerts by artists you won’t know and who only distract your girls from drinking and being gamed. From 4am to 6am the regular clubs are emptying out but plenty of people, women included, still hit up one of the many afterparty clubs. Those last till well past 10am.

As far as days go: Fridays and Saturdays are peak days. Thursday is an OK day, all other days are fairly weak and you have to know the right venues.

The Ultimate Moscow Nightclub List

Short disclaimer: I didn’t add basic and electro clubs since you’re coming for the girls, not for the music. This list will give you more options than you’ll be able to handle on a weekend.

Preparty – start here at 11PM

Classic restaurant club with lots of tables and a smallish bar and dancefloor. Come here between 11pm and 12am when the concert is over and they start with the actual party. Even early in the night tons of sexy women here, who lean slightly older (25 and up).

The second floor of the Ugolek restaurant is an extra bar with dim lights and house music tunes. Very small and cozy with a slight hipster vibe but generally draws plenty of attractive women too. A bit slower vibe than Valenok.

Very cool, spread-out venue that has a modern library theme. Not always full with people but when it is, it’s brimming with top-tier women. Slow vibe here and better for grabbing contacts and moving on.

zodiac yachtline 500 club

High-end: err on the side of being too early rather than too late because of face control.

Secret Room

Probably the top venue at the moment in Moscow . Very small but wildly popular club, which is crammed with tables but always packed. They do parties on Thursdays and Sundays as well. This club has a hip-hop/high-end theme, meaning most girls are gold diggers, IG models, and tattooed hip hop chicks. Very unfavorable logistics because there is almost no room no move inside the club but the party vibe makes it worth it. Strict face control.

Close to Secret Room and with a much more favorable and spacious three-part layout. This place attracts very hot women but also lots of ball busters and fakes that will leave you blue-balled. Come early because after 4am it starts getting empty fast. Electronic music.

A slightly kitsch restaurant club that plays Russian pop and is full of gold diggers, semi-pros, and men from the Caucasus republics. Thursday is the strongest night but that dynamic might be changing since Secret Room opened its doors. You can swoop here but it will be a struggle.

zodiac yachtline 500 club

Mid-level: your sweet spot in terms of ease and attractiveness of girls for an average budget.

Started going downwards in 2018 due to lax face control and this might get even worse with the World Cup. In terms of layout one of the best Moscow nightclubs because it’s very big and bottle service gives you a good edge here. Still attracts lots of cute girls with loose morals but plenty of provincial girls (and guys) as well. Swooping is fairly easy here.

I haven’t been at this place in over a year, ever since it started becoming ground zero for drunken teenagers. Similar clientele to Icon but less chic, younger and drunker. Decent mainstream music that attracts plenty of tourists. Girls are easy here as well.

Sort of a Coyote Ugly (the real one in Moscow sucks) with party music and lots of drunken people licking each others’ faces. Very entertaining with the right amount of alcohol and very easy to pull in there. Don’t think about staying sober in here, you’ll hate it.

Artel Bessonitsa/Shakti Terrace

Electronic music club that is sort of a high-end place with an underground clientele and located between the teenager clubs Icon and Gipsy. Very good music but a bit all over the place with their vibe and their branding. You can swoop almost any type of girl here from high-heeled beauty to coked-up hipsters, provided they’re not too sober.

zodiac yachtline 500 club

Afterparty: if by 5AM  you haven’t pulled, it’s time to move here.

Best afterparty spot in terms of trying to get girls. Pretty much no one is sober in there and savage gorilla game goes a long way. Lots of very hot and slutty-looking girls but it can be hard to tell apart who is looking for dick and who is just on drugs but not interested. If by 9-10am you haven’t pulled, it is probably better to surrender.

The hipster alternative for afterparties, where even more drugs are in play. Plenty of attractive girls there but you have to know how to work this type of club. A nicer atmosphere and better music but if you’re desperate to pull, you’ll probably go to Miks.

Weekday jokers: if you’re on the hunt for some sexy Russian girls during the week, here are two tips to make your life easier.

Chesterfield

Ladies night on Wednesdays means this place gets pretty packed with smashed teenagers and 6s and 7s. Don’t pull out the three-piece suit in here because it’s a “simpler” crowd. Definitely your best shot on Wednesdays.

If you haven’t pulled at Chesterfield, you can throw a Hail Mary and hit up Garage’s Black Music Wednesdays. Fills up really late but there are some cute Black Music groupies in here. Very small club. Thursday through Saturday they do afterparties and you have an excellent shot and swooping girls that are probably high.

Shishas Sferum

This is pretty much your only shot on Mondays and Tuesdays because they offer free or almost free drinks for women. A fairly low-class club where you should watch your drinks. As always the case in Moscow, there will be cute girls here on any day of the week but it’s nowhere near as good as on the weekend.

Key security considerations for the marina industry and yacht owners.

Stefan Leipold CEO of STARKinc.biz / ProsSysCo.biz / Oceans Yachting.

I'd like to share some essential knowledge for existing or new owners of yachts and service providers in the industry to keep customers and vessels safe and secure in the marina industry, which differs a little bit from a corporate environment.

The first and most essential step is vetting your crew members for criminal records, their online footprint and their work history. When you offer services in this industry, you have to understand that a multimillion-dollar yacht is not just only a moving villa on the sea; it also has a very sophisticated expensive IT infrastructure, and its owners are oftentimes public figures who value their privacy and security, both physically and in the digital world.

Over the years, I have worked with my team from Oceans Yachting on numerous projects, and I'd like to share our expertise with other leaders in the industry.

Security Basics

Contractors who work with yacht owners have the absolute obligation to protect the asset's hardware, software, information and identity with the best technology and knowledge possible. After a successful implementation project (whether a build, refit or upgrade), the entire vessel needs to be monitored and maintained due to daily exposure to ever-changing cybersecurity threats, and its access, identity and location should be kept protected at all times.

JPMorgan Joins Goldman Sachs In Serious Bitcoin Halving Price Warning

Google makes a major new sale offer to pixel 8 buyers, drugs like ozempic and mounjaro could treat other conditions here s what scientists are looking at.

If you have a staff of 20 or more permanently on board year-round, they need to be educated and trained on industry do's and don'ts. For example, all private work should only be performed on their own dedicated network in their off time. That way, they can't do damage to the client's network even if they are able to download a virus.

Network Considerations

In a regular cyberattack at a corporation, there might be financial or reputational damages; however, in the marina industry, the consequences can be way more severe, including jeopardizing human life in the event of a crash. For this reason, I highly recommend that commercially used vessels and private vessels have multiple networks set up—not just in the interest of complying with cyber risk guidelines from organizations like the International Maritime Organization, but also for the fundamental security of everybody on board. Every vessel should have the following networks:

1. A network that is only for communication and navigation. (Navigation systems should under no circumstances be connected to the internet; updates should be performed offline and on board.)

2. A crew network that is very limited in bandwidth and have many functions restricted, such as watching illegally obtained movies online, using Instagram, and so on. Activities like these can compromise the location and security of the owners and crew to pirates at sea or digital attackers.

3. A network just for the owners that is designed to meet the needs of the owner.

4. A dedicated network to monitor and access the entire engine system and communications.

5. Three internet lines: a shoreline for when the vessel is at the marina, a satellite line for use on the ocean and a 5G line for when the vessel is close to the coast or shore.

Work-based email and cellular lines should be controlled internally; no crew members should use personal emails or alternative sources to communicate without explicit permission.

Remaining Vigilant And Prepared

The captain and security officer of a vessel always need to be in close contact with the IT and security team, while the main staff should have limited knowledge and access to anything security-related. I can't stress the importance of security and the elevated risk a yacht's owners often face enough. This industry is a small but wealthy one, so they may be attractive to pirates at sea, kidnappers or cyberattacks for ransom.

It's important to look at all elements all the time and minimize clients' exposure (including to personal security risks). Having a small closed circle of people on board is better. There should be an area of operations established for every situation. Make sure to evaluate the risk and the level of security needed for the asset.

Get the right people for each job, because every job is different.

In most situations, for all corporations or industries, crisis response time is more valuable than money to business owners or CEOS, as a quick response can minimize damage to data, reputation and clients.

When it comes to the hardware service providers use, everything should be redundant, including battery backups, firewalls, switches, access points, servers and so on. This is because on a vessel, you cannot just go and order or buy a switch the same day if you are on the open ocean. Similarly, all equipment should be kept licensed and monitored remotely to ensure immediate responses are possible.

I hope that this article provides a view into the differences between a corporate human and IT environment and the yachting and marina industry.

Epic Journey Across Time: Cyprus, Rhodes & the Turquoise Coast on Emerald Azzurra

April 9-18, 2025

Rhodes

Group Size: 100 travelers across all sponsors Price: Starting from $8,999 per person double occupancy, $13,499 single occupancy Co-sponsored with: National Trust for Historic Preservation, Museum Travel Alliance, Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures, The Alumni Associations of Colombia, Tufts, and Vanderbilt Universities

Trip Overview

Sail through millennia of history on a beautiful, seven-night Eastern Mediterranean cruise aboard the acclaimed new Emerald Azzurra . Journey from Cyprus, one of the world’s best-kept secrets, to the legendary Greek island of Rhodes and Türkiye’s pristine Turquoise Coast, where you will board private glass-bottom boats for a fascinating perspective on the submerged ruins of an ancient city. With experts guiding you through the extraordinary history of this less-traveled region, you’ll be enriched by this in-depth look at the rise and fall of ancient empires—from the Mycenaeans, Phoenicians, Greeks, and Lycians to the Romans, Byzantines, and Ottomans—and the historical interplay of Christianity and Islam. An optional prelude is available in Istanbul, one of the world’s most splendid cities with its ancient mosques and palaces, and the otherworldly landscapes of Türkiye’s Cappadocia region.

Schedule by Day

Depart for Larnaca, Cyprus, on an overnight flight.

Arrive this morning and transfer to the Indigo Hotel Larnaca for check-in. Guests who opt for the suggested flights will meet tour representatives at the airport and join the group transfer to the hotel.

This evening, attend a welcome reception with dinner at your leisure.

Overnight:  Indigo Hotel Larnaca

This morning, you may choose between tours of Nicosia or Kition, fascinating sites featuring millennia of cultural treasures.

Explore Cyprus’s millennia-old capital, Nicosia, once ruled by Byzantines, Venetians, and the British. Nicosia is “the world’s last divided capital,” with a UN-monitored buffer zone between the Greek Cypriot-controlled south and the self-proclaimed Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the north. Visit the Cyprus Museum and its extensive array of archaeological artifacts and ancient Cypriot art. After lunch, see the elaborately beautiful Selimiye Mosque, which was originally constructed in the 13th and 14th centuries as the Catholic Cathedral of Saint Sophia and later converted into an Ottoman mosque.

Alternatively, explore Larnaca starting with the ancient city of Kition, where Mycenaean Achaeans arrived in the 13th century B.C., followed by Phoenicians in the ninth century B.C. Join your expert guide to explore Kition’s remains, including the Temple of Aphrodite-Astarte, built by the Phoenicians, and a 60-foot-long Roman mosaic. After lunch, transfer to the Troodos Mountains to view the world’s largest group of painted Byzantine churches and monasteries. This UNESCO-recognized collection of monuments, richly decorated with frescoes and murals, highlights the evolution of Byzantine and post-Byzantine painting in Cyprus over 500 years. These monuments range from small churches to monasteries such as the ornate Monastery of St. John Lampadistis, with its blend of Italian Renaissance and Byzantine art.

All participants continue to Limassol and embark Emerald Azzurra . Enjoy a private performance of Cypriot dance on board and raise a Champagne flute on deck as we cruise out of the harbor in the late afternoon.

Overnight:   Emerald Azzurra

Meals: B, L, D

Step ashore in Paphos, the birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite, according to legend. Established by Greek settlers during the Mycenaean era, the city was eventually captured by Ptolemy I of Egypt and later the Romans, who claimed it as the island’s capital. On a guided walking tour of the Archaeological Park of Nea Paphos, a UNESCO World Heritage site, visit the exquisite Houses of Dionysos, Theseus, and Aion, ancient Roman villas built from the second through the fifth centuries A.D. Marvel at their beautifully well-preserved mosaic floors depicting mythological and hunting scenes. View the medieval ruins of the Castle of Forty Columns, a seventh-century fortress named for its many granite columns.

Transfer to the Church of Chrysopolitissa, originally founded by the apostles Paul and Barnabas in 46 A.D. See the ruins of its fourth-century basilica and medieval Ottoman baths. View the modest yet famous St. Paul’s Pillar, said to mark the spot where the apostle Paul was whipped during his first missionary journey to Cyprus. After lunch on board, visit the Tombs of the Kings, followed by a visit to the Monastery of St. Neophytos. Carved out of the mountains, it houses a noteworthy ecclesiastical museum containing icons dating from the 16th century.

Return to the ship and set sail forTürkiye. .

Overnight:  Emerald Azzurra

Attend a morning lecture as the ship sails to Antalya, Türkiye’s largest Mediterranean city, renowned for its Greek, Roman, and Byzantine landmarks against a backdrop of the Taurus Mountains.

First, head south along the coast to the ancient trade center of Perge, once claimed by Lycians, Greeks, and Romans. Perge’s archaeological site features well-preserved bath complexes, an agora, basilicas, a theater, a stadium, and impressive fortifications. Nearby is the Antalya Archaeological Museum, notable for its collection of sculptures unearthed from the ancient site. In Aspendos, stop at the renowned Roman amphitheater built during Marcus Aurelius’s reign, known for its acoustics.

Return to Antalya and Emerald Azzurra , gathering for the captain’s welcome reception and dinner this evening.

Meals: B, L, R, D

Anchor off Türkiye’s fabled Turquoise Coast, named for the beautiful blue color of the waters, and board a tender into Kas, an ancient Lycian trading port.

Explore the remarkably restored, 4,000-seat limestone Hellenistic Theater, a rare relic of the ancient Lycian city, constructed in the first century B.C. Also, behold a well-preserved Lycian tomb located in Kas’s historical center. After a transfer to Kekova Bay, board glass-bottom boats and cruise for a mesmerizing perspective on the ancient submerged city of Simena. Below your feet, watch as ruins and rock-cut tombs appear in the clear turquoise waters.

Return to the ship and set sail for the island of Rhodes.

The ancient Lycians, initially nomads, settled in mountainous southwestern Türkiye in the eighth century B.C. and became known for their cliffside rock-cut tombs. Arrive in the beautiful port of Fethiye and transfer to the UNESCO-listed ancient Lycian capital of Xanthos, set on a cliff overlooking the Xanthos River, and delve into its rich history dating back to the eighth century B.C. Join an expert guide to explore its acropolis, Byzantine basilica, theater, and rock-cut tombs, remnants of its cosmopolitan past as a cultural, commercial, and political hub. Uncover connections between the Lycians, Greeks, and Persians, and remnants of the city’s later conquest by the Romans.

While here, discover the Nereid Monument, an intricately crafted tomb built in the fourth century B.C., showcasing a fusion of Lycian, Greek Ionic, and Persian architectural styles. An early example of Greek-style temple-tombs and a precursor to the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the monument was named after sea nymphs from Greek mythology.

Continue to nearby Letoon, the ancient Lycian sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Leto and her twin children, Artemis and Apollo. See Letoon’s temples and colonnaded galleries that shed light on the religious practices and mythological beliefs of the Lycians.

Return to the ship for lunch and depart for Rhodes.

The island of Rhodes was known in antiquity for its schools of philosophy, rhetoric, and sculpture, including its mythical Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. From 1309 to 1523, the the Knights of St. John occupied the city, surrounding it with fortifications they expertly maintained. Upon morning arrival, explore the UNESCO-listed fortified town, one of Europe’s best preserved medieval cities. Walk along the Street of the Knights, overflowing with mosaics, finely carved portals, balconies, and coats of arms. Then visit the Archaeological Museum of Rhodes, housed in the medieval Hospital of the Knights, and see its collection of vases, figurines, Hellenistic mosaic floors, and more.

After morning arrival into Bodrum, delve into the history of Halicarnassus, visiting the Mausoleum, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the Museum of Underwater Archaeology, which showcases ancient artifacts from shipwrecks in the Aegean Sea.

Have lunch on board as the ship sails to Izmir.

After an afternoon at sea, celebrate your journey at the captain’s farewell reception and dinner.

Disembark this morning in Izmir and transfer to the airport for your flights home.

With 5 decks, M/Y CRN 132 73 m can host up to 12 guests in its six cabins, including the Owner Suite and Vip cabins, together with a crew of 22 members.

The construction of this new jewel of the sea, which includes the best design solutions realized by CRN, has required around 430,000 hours of work from the shipyard workers and subcontractors and the daily contribution of over 150 direct and indirect workers.

The Acquisition

Off the Hook Yachts is proud to announce the acquisition of Georgetown Yacht Basin (GYB) now rebranding under Georgetown Yacht Haven – a 300-boat slip full-service marina located on the Sassafras River in Georgetown, MD.  Off the Hook plans to restore the yacht basin to its former glory and reconnect with the local community in order to establish it as a household name in the area.

As our founder is originally from Maryland, this will complement our current presence in the area, along with our MD sales team, which currently operates out of Bay Bridge Marina. The acquisition of the marina will allow us to expand on sales, service, and custom-built Nor-Tech Performance Boat sales in the region. Georgetown Yacht Haven has 300 slips, two paint sheds that can hold up to a 110-foot yacht, a 110-ton travel lift, a fuel dock, a swimming pool, bathhouses, and a complete ship store, along with many other amenities. GYH controls the largest travel lift in Northern Chesapeake Bay.

73m superyacht Yalla launched by CRN

Italian yacht builder CRN has launched its 73m superyacht Yalla .

CRN welcomed more than 1,000 guests to the launching ceremony of CRN 132 Yalla , held late this morning at its shipyard in Ancona, Italy. The launch ceremony included speeches from Alberto Galassi, new CEO of the Ferretti Group , Lamberto Tacoli, Chairman and CEO of CRN, Xinyu Xu, Vice-chairman of Weichai Group, and the Mayor of Ancona Valeria Mancinelli.

Part of the Ferretti Group,  CRN  specialises in custom yachts up to 90 metres in steel and aluminium. Yalla is the first yacht built by CRN on its new 12.5m beam platform. More than 430,000 hours from CRN and its subcontractors were spent on Yalla 's build, with contributions from 150 employees.

Exterior styling comes from Omega Architects in The Netherlands, in close collaboration with the CRN Engineering Department. The five-deck motor yacht features sleek, sporty lines and a streamlined profile. Superyacht Yalla 's interiors are by Droulers Architecture, working with CRN's Interiors and Design Office. She hosts up to 12 guests in its six cabins, including an owner's suite and VIP cabins, along with 22 crew members.

'Following the launch of CRN 133 61m superyacht a few months ago, we are proud to celebrate the launch of the new Yalla of 73m, which represents a challenge and an objective for the whole CRN shipyard,' says Lamberto Tacoli, Chairman and CEO of CRN. ' Yalla will mark another important result for the development of CRN in the world. A sincere thanks for the trust of the owner and for the work of all employees and subcontractors who have worked on the project, to the architects Franck Laupman of Omega Architects and to Droulers Architecture. I also thank our shareholder Weichai Group and the new CEO of the Group Alberto Galassi for their participation in this important event for CRN and for the whole Ferretti Group.'

The Ferretti Group currently has five superyachts underway at the Ancona shipyard, including the 74m CRN 131, 55m CRN 134, a Ferretti Custom Line CL 124, the 61m CRN 133 and the Riva 122 Mythos , which are at the delivery stage.

Strange Glow Over Moscow Skies Triggers Panic as Explosions Reported

B right flashes lit up the night sky in southern Moscow in the early hours of Thursday morning, new footage appears to show, following reports of an explosion at an electrical substation on the outskirts of the city.

Video snippets circulating on Russian-language Telegram channels show a series of flashes on the horizon of a cloudy night sky, momentarily turning the sky a number of different colors. In a clip shared by Russian outlet MSK1.ru, smoke can be seen rising from a building during the flashes lighting up the scene.

Newsweek was unable to independently verify the details of the video clips, including when and where it was filmed. The Russian Ministry of Emergency situations has been contacted via email.

Several Russian Telegram accounts said early on Thursday that residents of southern Moscow reported an explosion and a fire breaking out at an electrical substation in the Leninsky district, southeast of central Moscow.

Local authorities in the Leninsky district told Russian outlet RBC that the explosion had happened in the village of Molokovo. "All vital facilities are operating as normal," Leninsky district officials told the outlet.

The incident at the substation in Molokovo took place just before 2 a.m. local time, MSK1.ru reported.

Messages published by the ASTRA Telegram account, run by independent Russian journalists, appear to show residents close to the substation panicking as they question the bright flashes in the sky. One local resident describes seeing the bright light before losing access to electricity, with another calling the incident a "nightmare."

More than 10 villages and towns in the southeast of Moscow lost access to electricity, the ASTRA Telegram account also reported. The town of Lytkarino to the southeast of Moscow, lost electricity, wrote the eastern European-based independent outlet, Meduza.

Outages were reported in the southern Domodedovo area of the city, according to another Russian outlet, as well as power failures in western Moscow. Electricity was then restored to the areas, the Strana.ua outlet reported.

The cause of the reported explosion is not known. A Telegram account aggregating news for the Lytkarino area described the incident as "an ordinary accident at a substation."

The MSK1.ru outlet quoted a local resident who speculated that a drone may have been responsible for the explosion, but no other Russian source reported this as a possible cause.

Ukraine has repeatedly targeted Moscow with long-range aerial drones in recent months, including a dramatic wave of strikes in late May.

On Sunday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said the region's air defense systems had intercepted an aerial drone over the city of Elektrostal, to the east of Moscow. No damage or casualties were reported, he said.

The previous day, Russian air defenses detected and shot down another drone flying over the Bogorodsky district, northeast of central Moscow, Sobyanin said.

There is currently no evidence that an aerial drone was responsible for the reported overnight explosion at the electrical substation in southern Moscow.
