NJ ferry to host special New Year’s Eve fireworks cruise

It's hard to believe, but 2023 has almost come to a close. And for those of us in New Jersey, what a year it's been, to say the least.

We all deserve to take a break if we can to just unwind and enjoy ourselves between Christmas and New Year's. After all, we deserve it.

And speaking of which, why not spend New Year's Eve doing something a little different? Perhaps it is something that you've never had the opportunity to do before.

Not necessarily being in Times Square to ring in the new year, but something that might offer more excitement than that. Fortunately for us, New Jersey knows how to celebrate.

Why not spend the end of 2023 on a cruise getting ready to ring in the new year? New Jersey has just the place for that.

Seastreak Ferry is preparing to ring in 2024 by offering a New Year’s Eve Fireworks Sightseeing Cruise. It is a unique way to ring in the new year.

Not only is it something different, but you'll get to view some of the best fireworks in the area over New York Harbor. How amazing is that?

According to seastreak.com, the special New Year's Eve cruise offers "delicious passed and stationed hors d’oeuvres, a complimentary champagne toast, open bar, and an awesome DJ playing all your favorite tunes!"

Not to mention, seeing the fireworks go off with the Statue Of Liberty in the backdrop over New York Harbor.

Lovely furniture with round tables, funny celebration stuff on them (like hats, crowns, bracelets…) for the guests, very friendly and obliging staff, good music and dance possibilities on a separate deck, and a stunning view over the skyline, Statue of Liberty, and the fireworks right next to it. All drinks and food were included. The food was very delicious and the drinks were good mixed. They even had Malibu!!! 🙂 We would definitely recommend these guys!! It was an excellent experience and definitely the better option than spending New Year’s Eve at the cold and overcrowded Times Square ;)”   — Elena S

Yacht Company holds a zero tolerance policy related to illegal substances aboard all vessels. Anyone caught participating or processing any such items will not be allowed to board and substances will be confiscated.

If you are thought to be under the influence of, or caught participating in, illegal substances on board, you'll be quarantined until boat can safely return to dock and the cruise is subject to end for all guests immediately upon doing so; no refunds will be issued under any circumstances.

NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES. ALL SALES FINAL: There are NO REFUNDS, NO CANCELLATIONS, no credits, no exchanges, and no transfers after the order has been made.

Credit Card & ID:

You must present the original credit card used to purchase the ticket and a valid Government Issued Photo Identification (along with your e-tickets that have been emailed to you via Eventbrite when your order was placed): the name on both the credit card and ID match the name on your purchased tickets, in order to gain entry to the event. If cancellation or transfer request is approved, promoter reserves the right to charge a $10 administrative fee for its time, in addition to charging a $10 restocking fee per ticket if tickets are placed back on sale. Release of Liability:

By purchasing the tickets through Eventbrite, you hereby release and forever discharge Promoter from any liability or claims for damages that may arise as a result of your attendance at, and voluntary participation in, the event(s), including claims for personal injury, or damage to personal property, or any other claims for negligence on the part of the event’s Promoter. By purchasing the tickets through Eventbrite for this event, you hereby release and forever discharge event Promoter, and their officers and agents, from any liability or claims for damages that may arise as a result of your attendance and participation at the event(s). It is hereby understood that the purchase of tickets by you and your participation in the events shall not be construed as an assumption on the part of Promoter of responsibility, liability, or control of the events.

Promoter's collection’s agencies reserve the right to negatively affect your personal credit score until your debt is paid. It went beyond my expectations. The boat is wonderful, the dining area is very elegant and the service was great. Good music and good company. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening!

I have cruised with Cornucopia many times. The food is usually buffet style and very good, sitting tables of six to eight. Great sit down dinner with live music for dancing. A very enjoyable day or evening.

The staff are pleasant and attentive. We were served appetizers, pasta, salad, main entrée, and dessert. There was a live DJ and music. The scenery was pleasant. We had a fabulous time, will do again!

This cruise was so fun! The food was delicious. We had a choice of Salmon, Short Ribs, Roasted Chicken or Eggplant. Live music and plenty of time for dancing. The cruise coasted along smoothly offering beautiful views.

3 hospitalized after knife attack on party boat in New York City along Brooklyn waterfront

NEW YORK (AP) — A knife attack on a crowded party boat at a New York City pier Saturday resulted in the hospitalization of three people, police said.

A 911 call came in around 5 p.m. reporting the assault along the Brooklyn waterfront near 58th Street and the Brooklyn Army Terminal warehouse, NYPD Detective Sophia Mason said.

The victims were said to be a 32-year-old man with a stab wound to the torso, a 40-year-old man with stab wounds to the chest and abdomen and a 28-year-old man who was hit in the head with a bottle. They were taken to the NYU Langone Hospital and were in stable condition, Mason said.

Two more people were treated for injuries at the scene, but they declined further medical treatment, according to the fire department.

There were no arrests as of Saturday evening and the investigation was ongoing.

Around 3,000 people were aboard the vessel, the Cornucopia Majesty, at the time, police said. An event called BYFAROnABoat, which had advertised daytime and nighttime parties on the boat boarding at the Brooklyn Army Terminal on Saturday, said in a statement posted on social media that a “crime scene developed by the pier.” As a result, the night event was postponed.

“BYFAR Entertainment has always been a beacon of safe events in New York City and this rare occurrence has never been the norm with us,” the statement said.

The pier at the army terminal, a former military supply base that houses industrial businesses, is used by the city’s ferry service and private vessels.

Party cruises are a fixture in the waters off New York City in the warmer months, typically carrying DJs playing to large crowds as they take in views of the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan skyline. The city in the past has moved to restrict where and how late they can dock on the southern Brooklyn waterfront, following complaints from some area residents.
