The Last Dinner Party announce first ever North American tour

Tickets will go on sale starting September 22

The Last Dinner Party have announced their first-ever North American tour. Check out full dates and ticket details below.

Kicking off on October 31, the five-piece will make their way to the East Coast for their first show at The Atlantis in Washington D.C.. From there, they will make stops in New York City and Philadelphia before heading over to the West Coast to play a show at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

Their final show of the tour will take place on November 9 at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago. Fans can register for pre-sale access by signing up for the band’s official mailing list here .

Ticket pre-sale will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, September 19 at 10am local time. The general sale will take place on Friday, September 22. Visit here for tickets.

In a five-star review of their live show in London , NME shared: “The Last Dinner Party’s ability to go straight from something as potent and wrenching as slow-burning ballad ‘Mirror’ to hamming up the theatrics of ‘Lady Of Mercy’ is a hugely impressive skill: even this early on in their career, on stage, they prove to be masters of contrast. It’s impossibly beautiful, ecstatic and ridiculous all at once.”

Speaking about the significance of performing live , front woman Abigail Morris told NME : “The live show is such an important part of us as a band, and we wanted to start to build a kind of community and an idea around the live shows before putting out music. We wanted to kind of start it in an organic, old fashioned way. It’s more fun to have it being this  human  thing you have to go and see and share.”

Buzzing UK act  The Last Dinner Party have announced an extensive tour across North America ahead of their debut album, Prelude to Ecstasy .

Bandmates Abigail Morris, Aurora Nishevci, Emily Roberts, Georgia Davies, and Lizzie Mayland will begin the 20-date jaunt at Lunario in Mexico City on March 19th. They’ll be making stops in Boston, New York, Toronto, Portland, San Francisco, and more, before wrapping things up at The Complex in Salt Lake City on August 7th. Miss Grit is slated to open on select dates. Check out the full list of shows below.

A Live Nation ticket pre-sale is set for Wednesday, January 24th (use access code SPOTLIGHT ), with a public on-sale following on Friday, January 26th via Ticketmaster.

The Last Dinner Party have announced a tour across North America for 2024.

The UK baroque-pop band will be heading across the pond in March, April, July and August in support of their debut album ‘ Prelude To Ecstasy ‘, which is out February 2.

The group will begin the 20-date stint at Lunario in Mexico City on March 19, making stops in Boston, New York, Toronto, Portland, San Francisco and more, before they wrap up at The Complex in Salt Lake City on August 7. Miss Grit will also perform as support across select dates.

Pre-sale starts Tuesday (January 23) at 10am ET, ahead of general sale Friday (January 26) at 10am ET from here .

The tour announcement follows the band’s first-ever North American tour last year , which saw them perform five dates in October and November.

Speaking to NME ahead of the release of their debut album , vocalist Abigail Morris said that their ‘whole mission statement is very theatrical”, adding: “We love being intentional and indulgent. I mean, we have a composer! We want to flex that!”

The band recently made their debut appearance on US TV , followed by a performance on The Graham Norton Show .

The Last Dinner Party has announced its first-ever North American tour. The quintet will begin the run on October 31 at The Atlantis in Washington D.C. before heading to New York City and Philadelphia. The band will then head west and play a show at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The band will conclude the run on November 9 at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago.

The band shared the news on Instagram, writing, “Dearest friends across the Pond, we are finally coming for you this Autumn! We are beyond excited for our first shows ever in the great cities of Washington, D.C., New York City, Philadelphia, Los Angeles & Chicago. Back in June, the band shared its second single, “Sinner.” Produced by frequent Arctic Monkeys collaborator James Ford, “Sinner” builds on the atmosphere the group introduced listeners to with their debut single, “Nothing Matters.” With punctuated vocals and dramatic hooks, the band has already established a clear identity.

Guitarist Lizzie Mayland reflected on “Sinner,” explaining: “‘Sinner’ is a story of self-acceptance, and the longing for the past and present self to become one. Born from a breakbeat drum sample, ‘Sinner’ is punctuated by ripping guitar lines and harmony-filled vocal breakdowns.” The single arrived accompanied by a live video, which shows the group performing the song in a spotlit empty banquet hall, dressed to the nines with a historic flair.

Since their first single release, the band has spent much of its time on the road, where it’ll continue to be for the rest of the year. Beyond a massive Glastonbur sety, the group has performed opening slots for Florence and the Machine ,  and wrapped its festival run with sets at Green Man, End of the Road, Latitude, and Reading & Leeds.

‘It’s Very Emotional’: Fresh From the UK, the Last Dinner Party Embarks on Their First American Tour

It’s a cold autumn afternoon when I meet up with the Last Dinner Party . I join the quintet in a round booth at Gemma, on the ground floor of the Bowery Hotel, where there’s a sense of instant kinship—like grabbing lunch with friends visiting from the UK. In between bites of pizza, we discuss their musical origin story, their forthcoming debut album, and how they’ve gone from playing in local London pubs to opening for the likes of Lana Del Rey, the Rolling Stones, and soon Hozier. 

Abigail Morris (vocals), Lizzie Mayland (rhythm guitar), Emily Roberts (lead guitar), Georgia Davies (bass), and Aurora Nishevci (keyboard) can’t wait to head off on their first (mini) US tour, through New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago—they’re even excited to see yellow taxis and fire escapes, enthusing, “It’s so American!”

“[Being in New York] is most surreal to me, having never been to America and only seen portrayals in films or pictures,” Nishevci tells  Vogue . “To be here now touring with our band is very emotional.”

Made up of all female and non-binary-identifying musicians, the Last Dinner Party serves up an intoxicating blend of coquettish, high-femme aesthetics and heavy rock instrumentals. Lead singer Morris is a powerhouse, wielding a voice that evokes both Freddie Mercury and Florence Welch. 

“When we first started talking about wanting to start a band, it was only because we wanted to play these small venues in London,” Davies says. “Our first gig was at the George Cabin in East London. We were extremely nervous—there were probably only about 15 people there, and all of them were close friends of the other bands playing that night.” 

It's a point of pride for Davies and her fellow bandmates that their friends in attendance at the Last Dinner Party's inaugural gig expressed a sense of pleasant surprise by the band's musical prowess. “From the beginning, there was no question that we wanted to form a band and prioritize live performance,” says Morris. “We had been watching other bands before lockdown where the only time [you could] see them was live and in person—and that creates such a sense of community and being present that you can’t get online. I think it’s kind of an old-fashioned way to do it.”

With their formidable talent and polished technique, the group has sparked baseless online rumors that they’re an industry plant, masquerading as indie newcomers. The truth is that the five friends met at university, where they used their various academic backgrounds (both Davies and Morris studied English literature, while Mayland studied art history) to create mood boards for their fledging outfit, and had long conversations in the smoking section of East London pubs. 

“The visual world we create is so important to our music because the music will evolve constantly over time,” Morris says. “The visual world was one of the first things we dreamed up, even before rehearsal. We all sat down to decide what we wanted to be called, what imagery it evokes, and what world we want to build aesthetically.” While they’ve taken sonic inspiration from the likes of David Bowie, Grace Jones, Weyes Blood, and Paramore’s Hayley Williams, they’ve looked to Chloë Sevigny, Vivienne Westwood, Catholic iconography, and their favorite films (we all share a fondness for Anna Biller’s The Love Witch ) for style cues. 

“The important thing between the five of us is that we want to create music that continually challenges and interests us. We don’t want to get pigeonholed into one genre or one look,” Morris continues. “With [our upcoming record], we want to establish from the beginning to expect a lot of variation and change rather than, you know, being in corsets forever.”

In the four short years since they formed, the Last Dinner Party has booked some impressive supporting slots, including opening for the Rolling Stones in London’s Hyde Park last year. “Before that, we did a gig in Brighton to like 150,” Roberts says with a laugh. On the afternoon their manager FaceTimed with the news about the Stones gig, the group bursted into a fit of joyful screams from the control room of a studio in North London. 

Though their debut album, Prelude to Ecstasy , isn’t out until February, fans who see the Last Dinner Party on tour won’t have to wait quite that long to hear the new material. “We approached making the album by playing live as much as possible before we committed to anything in the recording studio,” says Davies. “The new songs we’ve added to our set recently will still evolve. We’re using our gigs as a way of shopping and refining the parts of our songs.”  

It’s a helpful, functional process that also sends their audiences a message. “We will play stuff that’s not perfectly finished or polished, and it’ll change,” says Mayland. “We’ll do different set lists and arrangements of the songs to set the standard of constant evolution.”

The evening after our Lower East Side lunch date, the band plays their first sold-out New York City show at the Bowery Ballroom, where their orchestral entrance music is met with the screams of ecstatic fans. Their wardrobe is made up of sheer, silver body-con silhouettes, Marc Jacobs Kiki ankle boots, and puff-sleeved linen dresses that could have come straight from Marie Antoinette’s closet. Davies has a long white ribbon hanging from her bass guitar’s tuning pegs, while Morris has a matching bow tied around her mic stand as she purrs to a cheering crowd, “This next song is about feminine rage.” (Speaking of: Don’t mistake their female gaze aesthetics for immaturity. “We still get referred to as girls. It’s quite infantilizing and patronizing in some ways,” Roberts tell me. “We’re not girls anymore, we’re in our 20s.”) In between ethereal melodies and hard-rock interludes, Morris invites fans to sing along to one of the band’s unreleased songs, “Portrait of a Dead Girl,” and to pick up their own pair of white knee-high ruffle socks, embroidered with the band’s cherub logo. (I can’t resist this call myself, making a beeline to the merch stand.) During their final and perhaps best-known song, “ Nothing Matters ,” Morris sings while effortlessly jumping off the stage and into the crowd below.

After all, it wasn’t so long ago that Morris, Mayland, Roberts, Davies, and Nishevci were all in a pit themselves, cheering on their own favorite acts. “The first show that we played on our UK tour was in Glasgow, and there were people lining up in the cold from like midday,” Davies says. “When we got out on stage, seeing the adoration in their eyes, and the way that they were looking at us—it’s like how I looked at like people that I admired when I used to go to their shows.”

The Last Dinner Party Proves It’s for Real at Dazzling London Show: Concert Review

Contrary to popular online opinion, if the Last Dinner Party didn’t exist, it seems highly unlikely that the music industry would have the nerve to dream it up.

The noise in the U.K. around the band has been getting louder in the run-up to its debut album, “Prelude to Ecstasy,” released just a few hours after this London show. But this gig – billed in advance as a “historical variety show” – began amidst reverential silence as, dramatically silhouetted by on-stage chandeliers, TLDP began with an a cappella, choral take on “Beautiful Boy,” later supplemented with a flute solo.

That may be why the band endured an online backlash last year when it’d only released a single song – a frontlash, if you will – but no one at this show seemed concerned with the tired “industry plant” discourse (except perhaps the massed ranks of music journalists on the balcony). Instead, much of the crowd was already committed enough to embrace the TLDP aesthetic, with “Midsommar”-style flower crowns and fancy ball gowns studded throughout the audience.

And, while there was some industry insider speculation about just how much the upstairs photobooth might have cost their major label to set up, there was no shortage of lookalike fans keen to recreate the “Prelude to Ecstasy” album sleeve for posterity.

And, in truth, even if the Roundhouse had been crammed with more sceptical observers, they would surely have had to admit there’s plenty of undeniable evidence as to why TLDP is already inspiring such devotion.

After all, its sound is an intoxicating hodgepodge of theatrical 1970s glam pop and sullen 1990s indie rock, while frontwoman Abigail Morris comes on like a Jane Austen cosplay combination of Kate Bush and Freddie Mercury, packing more star quality into her flowing gown than the entire indie scene has produced in years.

These are surely the reasons behind the Last Dinner Party’s dizzying ascent, rather than any nefarious hype. And if, just occasionally, all that theatricality made proceedings resemble a school rock opera production – the messy conclusion to “Godzilla” had a distinctly “jazz hands” vibe – well, at least it was clearly a very good school.

The math department at said educational establishment might need to raise its game, however. When Morris asked the crowd to substitute for the “very expensive choir” TLDP used on the album version of “Portrait of a Dead Girl” but couldn’t afford to take on tour – hey, even major label largesse has limits – she asked them to sing, “Three words: ‘Give me the strength’.”

“They pay me to sing, not to fucking count,” she giggled, as she realized her basic arithmetic error. “I hope that came off as charming and quirky.”

And, for all the cynicism aimed in their direction, “charming and quirky” is just what TLDP brings to the alt-rock, um, party. The cut-glass accents and decadent fashion statements might have suggested some sort of rock ’n’ roll “Saltburn,” but there’s real substance here as well as upscale style.

So “Sinner” started off like ABBA but ended like Nirvana, while the sumptuous, blood-soaked ballad “On Your Side” added layers of deep emotion beyond the surface artifice. Indeed, the only real drag was that it was over too soon: A lack of material – somewhat inevitable for a band with only a dozen recorded songs to its name – meant that, even after an extended absence while the increasingly feral crowd bayed for an encore, the show barely ticked up to the hour mark.

But even that fits with the old “always leave them wanting more” stage maxim and it certainly won’t stop the Last Dinner Party juggernaut, with the Brits’ Rising Star Award already on their mantelpiece and even bigger venues booked for later in the year. Consequently, ambitions are already being scaled up: the judicious use of a mini-orchestra – expertly conducted by versatile keyboard player Aurora Nishevci, who had also paid vocal homage to her Albanian roots on “Gjuha” and wielded a mean keytar – suggested there is much more to come from this band.

“We’re proud that we filled this room with people like you,” declared Morris as the brilliant song that started all the fuss, “Nothing Matters,” ended the night’s proceedings and silenced any remaining doubts with a full-blooded, cathartic singalong.

As Morris pirouetted through the power chords, the band was showered with confetti from the ceiling and red roses from the enraptured crowd. Proof that – whatever they say online – in the real world, the Last Dinner Party is one so-called “industry plant” that (sorry) deserves to be given its flowers.

The Last Dinner Party unveil debut Australian rendezvous

Press your fanciest frills because The Last Dinner Party is coming to Australia for a feast of a tour this year.

The baroque-indie five piece from London has inked in a string of shows down the east coast in late July - a welcome rendezvous in the midst of winter's darkened depths.

The Last Dinner Party's gothic debauchery is the latest in a string of Splendour In The Grass acts who are still coming down to visit. And this particular pilgrimage serves as the band's debut Australian shows. How could we not RSVP with haste to this stunning down under debut?

Joining them on this tour de force will be Tia Gostelow in Naarm/Melbourne and Eora/Sydney. Meanwhile Meanjin/Brisbane fans will be spoiled rotten with a co-headline show with TV Girl .

Dinner parties like this are even better if costumes are involved—think disco costumes and a menu with a 1970s vibe. A few dinner menu theme ideas include:

• Medieval with meat pies, hearty stews, and desserts with fruit and honey

Celebrate Minor Holidays

Obviously, there are the big holidays like Thanksgiving, New Year's, and the 4th of July. If your dinner party falls around the holidays, it might be fun to go with a holiday theme. But honestly, any day can be a celebration. Get inspiration from those fun food holidays like Ice Cream Day on July 16th, or National Hamburger Day on May 28th. Celebrate minor holidays (like creating a red, white, and blue something for Flag Day on June 14th). You can even make up your own holiday and make a menu perfect for it.

Be mindful of the presentation. The presentation of your dishes (and decor) can really enhance the guest experience—and it's half the fun for a holiday-themed dinner party.

Get Pop Culture Inspired

If you're plotting dinner party associated with a binge watch or movie marathon, take inspiration from what you're showing. Your book club may also love having a book-inspired menu. (I recently hosted my book club's discussion of Lessons in Chemistry, and I opted for a chicken pot pie and brownies , as they were featured in key plot points in the book.)

Or maybe you'll want to find a theme with a twist, like only serving TikTok famous recipes. (A dinner party is the perfect opportunity to revisit the viral baked feta pasta, cowboy caviar, upside-down puff pastry, or whatever TikTokers dream up next.)

Stick to the Season

Consider having a seasonal theme for your next dinner party (or do a dinner party every season!). A season theme offers you the opportunity to celebrate the flavors of the season with the freshest ingredients.

For instance, a summer dinner party might be a picnic theme with refreshing cocktails, barbecue, and vibrant salads with ripe tomatoes or even strawberries. Incorporating seasonal elements into the decor, like fresh flowers (perhaps with edible flowers as well!) for the spring or warm vanilla candles in the winter, adds to the memorable experience for guests.

The seasons don't have to do with the weather either; you can also consider sports seasons. For example, if it's football season and you're gathering for or before a game, a tailgating theme may also make sense for you.

Opt for creative menus, decorations, and mood music to match. Perhaps even what you wear can be part of the whole experience.

Pick a Color

A color dinner party theme might sound silly, but it can be lot of fun to get creative with different foods of the same color. For example, you might have a pink-themed dinner party to celebrate the birthday of your friend who loves the color pink.

For a pink-themed dinner party, you might have smoked salmon canapés or pink radish soup. A purple theme might incorporate veggies like graffiti cauliflower, beets, purple potatoes, or fruits like grapes, plums, blackberries, and elderberries.

For a color-themed party, experiment with food coloring. Make the cake for dessert blue. Top the brownies with green icing. Use red sprinkles on the ice cream. Whatever color you choose, there are tons of ways to get creative with adding it to your dishes.

Entertaining Preparation Tips

There are plenty of ways to make any dinner—regardless of the theme you choose—more fun. Here are some tips to keep in mind when thinking about your dinner party menu.

• Offer a range of options to suit all dietary restrictions. For example, you might include vegetarian or gluten-free options depending on your guests. Ask your guests if they have any allergies and label any dishes that contain allergens like eggs, nuts, shell fish, and other common kinds.
• Aim for a balanced meal. Your dinner party menu should include a variety of flavors and textures to create an exciting and satisfying experience for your guests. This might also mean including drinks that pair well with each dish.
• Choose dishes that you can prepare in advance. If that's not possible, at the very least, choose dishes that require minimal last-minute preparation. This way, you can spend more time enjoying the meal with your guests (and entertaining them) than cooking during the event.

Three Vegetarian Dinner Party Ideas for Every Effort Level

Keep it easy with an asparagus tart and blueberry crisp, or go all-out with tapas and tangerine flan.

Growing up, my parents’ annual New Year’s Eve dinner party drew in all corners of our neighborhood. The first floor of our house would transform into a hot-ticket restaurant for roughly 40 guests. Out unfurled the leaves of the dining room table, on which my parents built an elaborate spread: lasagna and scalloped potatoes, Caesar salad with croutons from scratch, leg of lamb, mussels in red sauce but also clams — not everyone liked mussels, my mom recounts.

No detail went unaddressed. They topped the buffet in shimmering linens, labeled each dish with a place card and outfitted every table and surface of the kitchen and living room with place settings and chairs. The party would then stretch to the “disco” my dad had built downstairs, where a small dance floor, disco ball, laser lights, bar and audio-mixing setup awaited guests.

My parents were — and still very much are — consummate entertainers, and I aspire to be like them. So this week, I made my case for capital “E” entertaining, while my boss (and recovering intense host), Krysten Chambrot , shared her argument for a laid-back, breezier approach, by way of two dueling dinner party menus .

Each menu is flexible, with vegetarian guests (or hosts!) in mind. In my elaborate spread, Gabrielle Hamilton’s roasted mushrooms with braised black lentils and parsley croutons (above) works as either a side or a luxurious centerpiece for those foregoing the chicken, and it’s flanked by two vibrant salads. Krysten provides a couple of centerpiece swaps in her effortless menu: Melissa Clark’s artichoke and pea stew or Alexa Weibel’s white bean and celery ragout would pair nicely with the salad and rice sides she suggests.

Don’t fuss with cocktails, and have your guests bring their favorite bubbly beverages, boozy or otherwise. For dessert, Genevieve Ko’s blueberry crisp .

Start with Ali Slagle’s blistered shishito peppers , followed by Melissa Clark’s cauliflower shawarma , and have guests assemble their own pitas. Serve those with Yewande Komolafe’s spicy cucumbers with yogurt, lemon and herbs and sip on Rosie Schapp’s vermouth spritzes . Tejal Rao’s quick mango kulfi for dessert is a must.

Tapas Night

Effort level: High

Start with Julia Moskin’s best gazpacho , followed by Mark Bittman’s Spanish tortilla , with Melissa’s avocado salad with herbs and capers and Alicia Kennedy’s chickpeas escabeche with plantain strips alongside. To drink, tinto de verano à la Rebekah Peppler, and for dessert, David Tanis’s tangerine flan , naturally.

A reunion of all five members of the '90s pop group took place April 20, marking the first time in more than a decade that the singers were seen on camera together in more than a decade. Mel B , 48,  Geri Halliwell Horner , 51,  Emma Bunton , 48, and Mel C , 50, attended Victoria Beckham 's 50th birthday party at a club in London and recreated an iconic moment in their band's history—and Posh Spice's husband was there to provide the receipts.

In a video  recorded and shared by  David Beckham , the Spice Girls are seen singing along and performing the dance choreography to their hit 1997 song "Stop."

"Best night ever!" Victoria captioned the video . "Happy Birthday to me! I love you all so much! #SpiceUpYourLife."

David, who could not look more excited about the performance, wrote alongside his own Instagram  post , "I mean come on x @victoriabeckham @melaniecmusic @officialmelb @emmaleebunton @gerihalliwellhorner."

Mel B shared Victoria's post on her Instagram Stories, writing, "About last night #tourdatescommingsoon."

Scary Spice had hinted that a Spice Girls reunion was in the works back in January.

After the Spice Girls split in 2000, all five members reunited formally to tour together in late 2007 and early 2008. In 2012, they performed at the Olympics closing ceremony in London.

The Spice Girls singers also toured as a quartet — without Victoria —in 2019 and have also had many informal mini-reunions over the years. In 2022, Victoria, Mel C and Emma attended Geri's 50th birthday party, where they danced, sang along and recreated their dance choreography to the band's 1996 hit "Say You'll Be There." At the time, David also shared video of the reunion, writing, "@officialmelb you were missed."

The Spice Girls became a global success upon the release of "Wannabe" in 1996. Considered the best-selling female group of all time, the British songstresses have sold over 85 million records worldwide. 

The girl group rocked the stage at the 1997 MTV Video Music Awards in New York City with a performance of "Say You'll Be There." They took home Best Dance Video for "Wannabe" that year.

Released in December 1997,  Spice World: The Movie became an instant blockbuster hit. Two decades later, it remains a cult phenomenon and recently even returned to theaters in the U.K. to celebrate the milestone anniversary! 

'90s Nights

Posh, Scary, Sporty, Baby and Ginger Spice come together for a 1998 photo opp. Two years later, they'd announce their decision to put Spice Girls on the back burner for a renewed focus on their respective solo careers. 

The Spice Girls made a comeback in 2007 with a global tour that sold out in a whopping 38 seconds. That same year, the ladies hit the stage at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in Hollywood. 

After four years apart, the girl group reunited once again to celebrate the premiere of  Viva Forever! , a musical inspired by their time in the spotlight. 

At the closing ceremony for the 2012 London Olympics, the fivesome performed a medley of greatest hits like "Wannabe" and "Spice Up Your Life."

In 2016,  Melanie Brown, Geri Halliwell  and  Emma Bunton  announced a spinoff trio called GEM. A single titled "Song for Her" leaked online, but the project was evidently put on hold around the time Halliwell announced her pregnancy with baby No. 2. 

Cue the pandemonium! All five Spice Girls sent social media into a frenzy with this photo posted in February 2018. 

They responded to the excitement in a joint statement, saying, "We have enjoyed a wonderful afternoon catching-up and reminiscing about the amazing times we have spent together. We are always overwhelmed at how much interest there is across the whole world for The Spice Girls. The time now feels right to explore some incredible new opportunities together. We all agree that there are many exciting possibilities that will once again embrace the original essence of The Spice Girls, while reinforcing our message of female empowerment for future generations."

After announcing in late 2018 that four of the five Spice Girls would be reuniting once more for a tour—Victoria sat this one out to focus on the commitment to her fashion empire—Geri, Emma and the Mels began a 13-date European tour at Croake Park in Dublin, Ireland on May 24, 2019. We begin our Moscow tour beneath the city, exploring the underground palace of the Moscow Metro. From the Square of Revolution station, famous for its huge statues of soviet people (an armed soldier, a farmer with a rooster, a warrior, and more), we’ll move onto some of the most significant stations, where impressive mosaics, columns, and chandeliers will boggle your eyes! Moreover, these stations reveal a big part of soviet reality — the walls depict plenty of Propaganda , with party leaders looking down from images on the walls. Your local guide will share personal stories of his/her family from USSR times, giving you insight into Russia’s complicated past and present. Then we’re coming back up to street level, where we’ll take a break and refuel with some Russian fast food: traditional pancakes, called bliny. And then, stomachs satiated, we are ready to move forward! We’ll take the eco-friendly electric trolleybus, with a route along the Moscow Garden Ring. Used mainly by Russian babushkas(grannies) during the day, the trolleybus hits peak hours in the mornings and evenings, when many locals use it going to and from their days.
