The georgian is one of new activations for attendees at tournament in atlanta.

2023 TOUR Championship East Lake Atlanta NetJets First 1st Tee Bleachers

The Georgian will be a new upscale shared hospitality option to round out the full hospitality program for the PGA Tour’s 2024 Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta from August 28 through September 1.

Alongside East Lake Golf Club’s full-scale course renovation, the tournament will have a reimagined hospitality program with the return of the Starter Lounge presented by NetJets and the Ultra Athletic Club.

“The addition of The Georgian alongside the return of the Starter Lounge presented by NetJets and the Ultra Athletic Club provides companies and their invited guests plenty of options for best-in-class hospitality at the Tour Championship,” said Alex Urban , executive director of the Tour Championship. “The growth of this event, in addition to the incredible course renovation of East Lake Golf Club, has afforded us the opportunity to reimagine the 2024 event and fan experience.”

The Georgian hospitality area will offer all-inclusive food and beverage; a climate-controlled structure with expansive patio seating set holes No. 8 and 9; and includes views to No. 1 tee and the East Lake clubhouse. The Starter Lounge presented by NetJets returns to the No. 1 tee with food and beverage included and views of every group teeing off at ground level venue. Situated in the epicenter of the course, the Ultra Athletic Club is an open-air, shaded venue with views of the driving range and No. 16 tee with tickets inclusive of beer and seltzer with food and other beverages available for purchase. The Tour Championship is the culmination of the PGA Tour season and FedExCup Playoffs. Between the course renovation and market demand for more VIP offerings, the tournament has 25% more private hospitality opportunities for sale in 2024 compared to a year ago. Elevate supports the PGA Tour’s efforts in premium hospitality strategy, sales, and service.

TOUR Championship set to unveil new 1 st Tee experience at the 2023 tournament

Starter Lounge presented by NetJets to provide unique ground-level view of the TOUR’s top 30 players

ATLANTA – Tournament officials for the TOUR Championship today announced plans for a reimagined 1 st Tee experience at East Lake Golf Club beginning with the 2023 event, creating an environment to match the intense drama of the PGA TOUR’s season finale. From guests of the brand-new Starter Lounge presented by NetJets to the Daily Grounds ticketholder to the TOUR’s top 30 players themselves, the 1 st Tee will offer an elevated experience as the battle for the FedExCup reaches its climax. The TOUR Championship returns to Atlanta and historic East Lake Golf Club from August 23-27 as the PGA TOUR’s top 30 players compete in the FedExCup Playoffs finale for their chance to win the FedExCup and the season title. The primary enhancement of the 1 st Tee experience is the Starter Lounge presented by NetJets , an upscale, shared hospitality experience that will create a heightened level of anticipation for each tee time by giving guests a one-of-a-kind vantage point as players pass through the venue during their pressure-packed walk to the tee to begin their round at East Lake Golf Club. With food and beverage included, the Starter Lounge presented by NetJets offers the optimal experience to watch every group tee off from this ground-level venue. “Players recognize what is on the line each year at East Lake Golf Club, and we wanted the beginning of the round to feel more momentous not only for the TOUR’s 30 best players but also for our partners and fans,” said TOUR Championship Executive Director Alex Urban. “While the walk to the 1 st Tee will feel more significant to the players, the new buildout allows us to address the growing demand for new hospitality offerings by having guests positioned within a few feet from where the players take their final steps to reach the tee.” Daily Grounds ticketholders can also take in the action and enjoy shaded seating in the open-to-the-public areas at the 1 st Tee, also presented by NetJets. Fans will have access to a new beverage concession area at the top of the grandstand, along with seating options, providing a unique vantage point to the start of the round. As an enhancement for both the Starter Lounge and the Shaded Public Bleachers presented by NetJets, the 1 st Tee experience will also feature a video board to highlight the best players in the world and inject even more excitement to the area. From the Hope Tee Shot Ceremony to start the round on Thursday through the last tee time on Sunday, the 1 st tee will be the place to be at the TOUR Championship. Inquiries for the Starter Lounge presented by NetJets can be made by visiting TOURChampionship.com/hospitality . For more information about the TOUR Championship, please visit TOURChampionship.com . Fans are encouraged to follow the TOUR Championship on Facebook , Twitter and Instagram for tournament updates.

Ronnie O'Sullivan gets his way despite losing to Mark Williams in Tour Championship final

S peaking after his defeat to Mark Williams in the Tour Championship final on Sunday, Ronnie O'Sullivan admitted he was keen for the competition to return to Manchester.

And the Rocket has now got his way, with tournament organisers revealing the competition would take place in the city next year.

O'Sullivan was 5-3 up going into the evening session on Sunday, having flourished during the afternoon.

However, the 48-year-old was beaten 10-5 with Williams winning seven frames in a row to secure the £150,000 prize money.

After the match, O'Sullivan admitted he was keen for the competition to take place in Manchester again.

"They've been terrible this week, haven't they!" he joked when asked about the crowd.

"No, I tell you what, London's very vocal but this is close. They really get behind the players. They really support this tournament unbelievably well.

"Hopefully it's here to stay.

"It's a great venue, great place, I love coming here, so hopefully it stays here and we'll come back here for many more years to come."

Tom Rowell, the WST's chief marketing and communications officer, has now confirmed the Rocket will get his way.

Manchester is set to host the Tour Championship once again next year - with tickets available to buy from Monday.

Rowell said, per the Daily Express: "We were expecting a great week at Manchester Central and it has exceeded all expectations.

"The feedback from players and fans about the quality of the venue and the location has been outstanding.

"This is part of our strategy to bring the World Snooker Tour to high quality venues across the UK, particularly for our biggest events like the Tour Championship.

"The atmosphere inside the arena has been superb and spectators have also enjoyed the new activations in the fanzone.

"Be ready to book fast on Monday because we expect most sessions to sell out quickly."

O'Sullivan, meanwhile, wasn't too downbeat after his defeat to Williams.

The snooker legend praised his opponent and admitted the 49-year-old was the worthy winner.

“I think he's been the best player and the most consistent player for the last five years," he said.

"I think he’s better now than he’s ever been. He just seems so strong.

“I tried, I gave it everything to stay in the game but if you don’t keep playing top level snooker he eats you alive.

"I thought I did well to get five frames today to be honest with you!”

Williams reacted to his triumph by saying: "It's not bad for a part-timer. What can I say? I never thought I'd be winning tournaments at 49, so who knows?

"The World Championships are around the corner. He's the man to beat, but you never know. I'll try my best.

"This is up there in my career. As Ronnie said, I think I am a better all-round player now."

Theatres in Moscow

Cultural life of Moscow city is various and rich! Operas, ballets, symphonic concerts... Russian composers have created some of the most beautiful classical music. Russian classical music is very popular in Moscow. It is performed in many beautiful historical venues. Do not forget to include a visit to a concert hall in your itinerary when you are planning your stay in Moscow! And do it in advance.

There are almost no restrictions on dress code in Russian theatres. Visitors may wear jeans and sports shoes, they may have a backpack with them. Only shorts are not allowed.

A typical feature of Russian theatre – visitors are bringing a lot of flowers which they present to their favorite performers after the show.

Here are some practical advices where to go and how to buy tickets.

The Bolshoi Theatre

The Bolshoi Theatre is the oldest, the most famous and popular opera and ballet theatre in Russia. The word “Bolshoi” means “big” in Russian. You can buy a ticket online in advance, 2-3 months before the date of performance on the official website . Prices for famous ballets are high: 6-8 thousand rubles for a seat in stalls. Tickets to operas are cheaper: you can get a good seat for 4-5 thousand rubles. Tickets are cheaper for daytime performances and performances on the New Stage. The New Stage is situated in the light-green building to the left of the Bolshoi's main building. The quality of operas and ballets shown on the New Stage is excellent too. However, you should pay attention that many seats of the Bolshoi’s Old and New Stages have limited visibility . If you want to see the Bolshoi’s Old Stage but all tickets are sold out, you can order a tour of the theatre. You can book such a tour on the official website.

If you want, following Russian tradition, to give flowers to the performers at the end of the show, in the Bolshoi flowers should be presented via special staff who collects these flowers in advance.

In August the Bolshoi is closed.

The Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre

This theatre is noteworthy. On one hand, it offers brilliant classical opera and ballet performances. On the other hand, it is an experimental venue for modern artists. You can check the program and buy tickets online here http://stanmus.com/ . If you are opera lover, get a ticket to see superstar Hibla Gerzmava . The theatre has a very beautiful historic building and a stage with a good view from every seat. Tickets are twice cheaper than in the Bolshoi.

The Novaya Opera

“Novaya” means “New” in Russian. This opera house was founded in 1991 by a famous conductor Eugene Kolobov. Its repertoire has several directions: Russian and Western classics, original shows and divertissements, and operas of the 20th and 21st centuries. It is very popular with Muscovites for excellent quality of performances, a comfortable hall, a beautiful Art Nouveau building and a historic park Hermitage, which is situated right next to it. You can buy tickets online here http://www.novayaopera.ru/en .

Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Center

The Opera Center has become one of the best theatrical venues in Moscow. It was founded in 2002 by great diva Galina Vishnevskaya. Nowadays its artistic director is Olga Rostropovich, daughter of Galina Vishnevskaya and her husband Mstislav Rostropovich, great cellist and conductor. Not only best young opera singers perform here, but also world music stars do; chamber and symphonic concerts, theatrical productions and musical festivals take place here. You can see what is on the program here http://opera-centre.ru/theatre . Unfortunately “booking tickets online” is available in Russian only. If you need help, you can contact us at and we can book a ticket for you.

Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and The Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory

These are two major concert halls for symphonic music in Moscow. Both feature excellent acoustics, impressive interior, various repertoire and best performers. You can check the program here http://meloman.ru/calendar/ . You need just to switch to English. Booking tickets online is available only for owners of Russian, Ukrainian and Belorussian phone numbers. If you need help, you can contact us and we can book a ticket for you.

Moscow International Performing Arts Center (MIPAC)

This modern and elegant concert hall houses performances of national and foreign symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, solo instrumentalists, opera singers, ballet dancers, theatre companies, jazz bands, variety and traditional ensembles. Actually, it has three concert halls placed on three different levels and having separate entrances. The President of MIPAC is People’s Artist of the USSR Vladimir Spivakov, conductor of “Virtuosy Moskvy” orchestra. You can see pictures of the concert halls here http://www.mmdm.ru/en/content/halls . The program is impressive in its variety but is not translated into English. You can contact us at and we can find a performance for you.

New Zealand Cricket chief executive Scott Weenink said there were already indications that the three matches against Brendon McCullum's team would attract the same sort of bumper attendances witnessed for the two home tests against Australia in February and March.

The stars will be out on Friday night in the women's Final Four.

Iowa's Caitlin Clark , South Carolina's Kamilla Cardoso, UConn's Paige Bueckers and NC State's Aziaha James will all take the court in Cleveland with a trip to the national championship game on the line, and each has their own calling card as they enter the championship rounds.

Clark's story is well-documented at this point , but endlessly impressive nonetheless: She put together a Her-culean effort in Iowa's win over LSU in the Elite Eight, with a 41-point game (and a bit of revenge). Cardoso has been a force in the paint for the Gamecocks, and she'll look to take her game to the next level at the conclusion of the women's tournament.

J ames has exploded in the tournament , capping off brilliant performance after brilliant performance with a 7-for-9 night from 3-point land in the Wolfpack's win over Texas in the Elite Eight. Last, and certainly not least, Bueckers wants to cap off this UConn run with that elusive championship – but she plans to run it back with the Huskies next season should things go south between now and then.

The Comprehensive Guide to Moscow Nightlife

tour championship venue

Moscow’s nightlife scene is thriving, and arguably one of the best the world has to offer – top-notch Russian women, coupled with a never-ending list of venues, Moscow has a little bit of something for everyone’s taste. Moscow nightlife is not for the faint of heart – and if you’re coming, you better be ready to go Friday and Saturday night into the early morning.

This comprehensive guide to Moscow nightlife will run you through the nuts and bolts of all you need to know about Moscow’s nightclubs and give you a solid blueprint to operate with during your time in Moscow.

What you need to know before hitting Moscow nightclubs

Prices in moscow nightlife.

Before you head out and start gaming all the sexy Moscow girls , we have to talk money first. Bring plenty because in Moscow you can never bring a big enough bankroll. Remember, you’re the man so making a fuzz of not paying a drink here or there will not go down well.

Luckily most Moscow clubs don’t do cover fees. Some electro clubs will charge 15-20$, depending on their lineup. There’s the odd club with a minimum spend of 20-30$, which you’ll drop on drinks easily. By and large, you can scope out the venues for free, which is a big plus.

Bottle service is a great deal in Moscow. At top-tier clubs, it starts at 1,000$. That’ll go a long way with premium vodka at 250$, especially if you have three or four guys chipping in. Not to mention that it’s a massive status boost for getting girls, especially at high-end clubs.

Without bottle service, you should estimate a budget of 100-150$ per night. That is if you drink a lot and hit the top clubs with the hottest girls. Scale down for less alcohol and more basic places.

Dress code & Face control

Door policy in Moscow is called “face control” and it’s always the guy behind the two gorillas that gives the green light if you’re in or out.

In Moscow nightlife there’s only one rule when it comes to dress codes:

You can never be underdressed.

People dress A LOT sharper than, say, in the US and that goes for both sexes. For high-end clubs, you definitely want to roll with a sharp blazer and a pocket square, not to mention dress shoes in tip-top condition. Those are the minimum requirements to level the playing field vis a vis with other sharply dressed guys that have a lot more money than you do. Unless you plan to hit explicit electro or underground clubs, which have their own dress code, you are always on the money with that style.

Getting in a Moscow club isn’t as hard as it seems: dress sharp, speak English at the door and look like you’re in the mood to spend all that money that you supposedly have (even if you don’t). That will open almost any door in Moscow’s nightlife for you.

Types of Moscow Nightclubs

In Moscow there are four types of clubs with the accompanying female clientele:

High-end clubs:

These are often crossovers between restaurants and clubs with lots of tables and very little space to dance. Heavy accent on bottle service most of the time but you can work the room from the bar as well. The hottest and most expensive girls in Moscow go there. Bring deep pockets and lots of self-confidence and you have a shot at swooping them.

Regular Mid-level clubs:

They probably resemble more what you’re used to in a nightclub: big dancefloors, stages and more space to roam around. Bottle service will make you stand out more but you can also do well without. You can find all types of girls but most will be in the 6-8 range. Your targets should always be the girls drinking and ideally in pairs. It’s impossible not to swoop if your game is at least half-decent.

Basic clubs/dive bars:

Usually spots with very cheap booze and lax face control. If you’re dressed too sharp and speak no Russian, you might attract the wrong type of attention so be vigilant. If you know the local scene you can swoop 6s and 7s almost at will. Usually students and girls from the suburbs.

Electro/underground clubs:

Home of the hipsters and creatives. Parties there don’t mean meeting girls and getting drunk but doing pills and spacing out to the music. Lots of attractive hipster girls if that is your niche. That is its own scene with a different dress code as well.

What time to go out in Moscow

Moscow nightlife starts late. Don’t show up at bars and preparty spots before 11pm because you’ll feel fairly alone. Peak time is between 1am and 3am. That is also the time of Moscow nightlife’s biggest nuisance: concerts by artists you won’t know and who only distract your girls from drinking and being gamed. From 4am to 6am the regular clubs are emptying out but plenty of people, women included, still hit up one of the many afterparty clubs. Those last till well past 10am.

As far as days go: Fridays and Saturdays are peak days. Thursday is an OK day, all other days are fairly weak and you have to know the right venues.

The Ultimate Moscow Nightclub List

Short disclaimer: I didn’t add basic and electro clubs since you’re coming for the girls, not for the music. This list will give you more options than you’ll be able to handle on a weekend.

Preparty – start here at 11PM

Classic restaurant club with lots of tables and a smallish bar and dancefloor. Come here between 11pm and 12am when the concert is over and they start with the actual party. Even early in the night tons of sexy women here, who lean slightly older (25 and up).

The second floor of the Ugolek restaurant is an extra bar with dim lights and house music tunes. Very small and cozy with a slight hipster vibe but generally draws plenty of attractive women too. A bit slower vibe than Valenok.

Very cool, spread-out venue that has a modern library theme. Not always full with people but when it is, it’s brimming with top-tier women. Slow vibe here and better for grabbing contacts and moving on.

tour championship venue

High-end: err on the side of being too early rather than too late because of face control.

Secret Room

Probably the top venue at the moment in Moscow . Very small but wildly popular club, which is crammed with tables but always packed. They do parties on Thursdays and Sundays as well. This club has a hip-hop/high-end theme, meaning most girls are gold diggers, IG models, and tattooed hip hop chicks. Very unfavorable logistics because there is almost no room no move inside the club but the party vibe makes it worth it. Strict face control.

Close to Secret Room and with a much more favorable and spacious three-part layout. This place attracts very hot women but also lots of ball busters and fakes that will leave you blue-balled. Come early because after 4am it starts getting empty fast. Electronic music.

A slightly kitsch restaurant club that plays Russian pop and is full of gold diggers, semi-pros, and men from the Caucasus republics. Thursday is the strongest night but that dynamic might be changing since Secret Room opened its doors. You can swoop here but it will be a struggle.

tour championship venue

Mid-level: your sweet spot in terms of ease and attractiveness of girls for an average budget.

Started going downwards in 2018 due to lax face control and this might get even worse with the World Cup. In terms of layout one of the best Moscow nightclubs because it’s very big and bottle service gives you a good edge here. Still attracts lots of cute girls with loose morals but plenty of provincial girls (and guys) as well. Swooping is fairly easy here.

I haven’t been at this place in over a year, ever since it started becoming ground zero for drunken teenagers. Similar clientele to Icon but less chic, younger and drunker. Decent mainstream music that attracts plenty of tourists. Girls are easy here as well.

Sort of a Coyote Ugly (the real one in Moscow sucks) with party music and lots of drunken people licking each others’ faces. Very entertaining with the right amount of alcohol and very easy to pull in there. Don’t think about staying sober in here, you’ll hate it.

Artel Bessonitsa/Shakti Terrace

Electronic music club that is sort of a high-end place with an underground clientele and located between the teenager clubs Icon and Gipsy. Very good music but a bit all over the place with their vibe and their branding. You can swoop almost any type of girl here from high-heeled beauty to coked-up hipsters, provided they’re not too sober.

tour championship venue

Afterparty: if by 5AM  you haven’t pulled, it’s time to move here.

Best afterparty spot in terms of trying to get girls. Pretty much no one is sober in there and savage gorilla game goes a long way. Lots of very hot and slutty-looking girls but it can be hard to tell apart who is looking for dick and who is just on drugs but not interested. If by 9-10am you haven’t pulled, it is probably better to surrender.

The hipster alternative for afterparties, where even more drugs are in play. Plenty of attractive girls there but you have to know how to work this type of club. A nicer atmosphere and better music but if you’re desperate to pull, you’ll probably go to Miks.

Weekday jokers: if you’re on the hunt for some sexy Russian girls during the week, here are two tips to make your life easier.

Chesterfield

Ladies night on Wednesdays means this place gets pretty packed with smashed teenagers and 6s and 7s. Don’t pull out the three-piece suit in here because it’s a “simpler” crowd. Definitely your best shot on Wednesdays.

If you haven’t pulled at Chesterfield, you can throw a Hail Mary and hit up Garage’s Black Music Wednesdays. Fills up really late but there are some cute Black Music groupies in here. Very small club. Thursday through Saturday they do afterparties and you have an excellent shot and swooping girls that are probably high.

Shishas Sferum

This is pretty much your only shot on Mondays and Tuesdays because they offer free or almost free drinks for women. A fairly low-class club where you should watch your drinks. As always the case in Moscow, there will be cute girls here on any day of the week but it’s nowhere near as good as on the weekend.

tour championship venue

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Club Car and the Korn Ferry Tour announced Thursday a four-year extension for Club Car to remain the title sponsor of the Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club, with the extension beginning in 2026 and running through 2029. Additionally, a four-year extension was announced with The Landings Golf & Athletic Club to continue as presenting sponsor, ensuring its Deer Creek Course will continue to host the annual Korn Ferry Tour event.

“The Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club has solidified itself as a favorite stop each year for players, caddies, fans and staff,” said Korn Ferry Tour President Alex Baldwin. “We are grateful for the strong relationship we have with Club Car, as well as the incredible support and hospitality we receive from local community at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club. Everyone involved in hosting this event has displayed a commitment to maximizing charitable impact while offering a premier fan experience, and we are thrilled to extend these partnerships and continue to grow the Korn Ferry Tour in Savannah.”

Club Car began its sponsorship of the Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club in 2021. As a leading manufacturer of gas and electric golf, utility and personal transportation vehicles, Club Car is dedicated to advancing the game of golf and giving back through charity and sustainability initiatives. That same dedication and a shared vision with the Club Car Championship has produced a thriving partnership leading to increased success for the tournament, including bolstering impact to charity in Savannah, Georgia, and beyond.

“When we began as title sponsor four years ago, we didn’t realize just how special this tournament would be to us, to our partners and to the Landings community,” said Club Car President Mark Wagner. “Building relationships, highlighting the next generation of PGA TOUR stars, and raising money for charitable causes in Savannah and beyond are just a few of the reasons Club Car is excited to continue our partnership with the Korn Ferry Tour, The Landings Golf & Athletic Club and HNS Sports Group as title sponsor for the Club Car Championship through 2029. We love being here and appreciate the opportunity to continue to grow the tournament over the years ahead.”

Since its inception in 2018, the Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club has raised nearly $1.2 million in support of charitable organizations. The tournament set single-season charitable giving records in 2022 and '23, totaling more than $740,000 during that time, thanks in part to the introduction of the tournament’s Sweepstakes Fore Charity program in partnership with Club Car.

Together with the tournament’s focus on charitable giving, the other constant for the event will be the host venue, The Landings Golf & Athletic Club’s Deer Creek Course. The Deer Creek Course has served as the home of the Club Car Championship from its inception and remains one of the truest tests of golf on the Korn Ferry Tour.

“The Landings Golf & Athletic Club is honored to extend our partnership with Club Car, The Korn Ferry Tour, HNS Sports Group and the tournament’s expanding base of supporters and partners,” said The Landings Golf & Athletic Executive Director Steven Freund. “The Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club is incredibly important to the growth of our Club and has quickly become one of the top professional sporting events in the low country and a must attend social gathering.”

The tournament also announced Thursday the dates for the 2025 Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club, which will take place the week of March 31–April 6.

The Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club is managed by HNS Sports Group, a full-service event management company headquartered in Dublin, Ohio.

Tiger Woods hopeful for 1 more Masters win ‘if everything comes together’

AUGUSTA, Ga. — Tiger Woods is back at Augusta National. Fused ankle and all, he’s ready to compete for his sixth green jacket and 16th major championship.

“If everything comes together, I think I can get one more,” Woods said Tuesday during a pre-tournament news conference.

Woods will tee off alongside Jason Day and Max Homa at 1:24 p.m. ET on Thursday. He hasn’t teed it up since February’s Genesis Invitational, where he returned to official tournament competition for the first time since last year’s Masters. Woods withdrew from the Genesis after 26 holes with a stomach illness — meaning he enters this week having not played 72 holes in official tournament competition since February 2023.

He made the cut at Augusta National last year — his record-tying 23rd consecutive cut at the storied venue — but withdrew before the conclusion of Round 3 due to a flare-up of plantar fasciitis in his right leg. Following the tournament, Woods underwent ankle fusion surgery to address the lingering issues from his near-fatal 2021 single-car crash. Now, the 48-year-old said he has no ankle pain, but the impact of the injury has extended to other parts of his body.

“The ankle doesn’t hurt anymore. It’s fused. It’s not going anywhere,” Woods said. “So that’s fine. It’s other parts of my body that now have to take the brunt of it. Once (Woods’ surgeon) put the rods in there, it’s good to go. But, the back, the knee — other parts of the body have to take the load of it, and just the endurance capability of walking a long time and being on my feet for a long time.”

In December at the Hero World Challenge, Woods’ 20-man invitational event in the Bahamas, he shared that considering the status of his body, he intended to play competitively “once a month.”

The idea made sense with the PGA Tour cadence. First would be the Genesis at Riviera Country Club in February and then The Players Championship in March. Next up, major season: He’d tee it up in the Masters in April, the PGA Championship in May, the U.S. Open in June, followed by the Open Championship in July.

At the Hero, Woods walked 72 holes and finished third-to-last. So far in 2024, he has played one complete competitive round.

What happened?

“Well, I wasn’t ready to play,” Woods said. “My body wasn’t ready. My game wasn’t ready. And I thought that when I was at Hero, once a month would be a really nice rhythm. Hasn’t worked out that way. But now we have major championships every month from here through July. So now the once-a-month hopefully kicks in.”

The key word is “hopefully.” Woods’ week at Augusta National will be a telling experiment of how his body can hold up on a hilly, undulating course. Woods candidly admitted Tuesday any lie that’s “not on a tee box” will be a significant challenge.

Off the golf course, Woods will soon have other matters to handle. The 82-time PGA Tour winner was also asked Tuesday about the U.S. Ryder Cup team captaincy for 2025 at Bethpage Black.

Woods revealed he’s “still talking about it” with PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh.

“It’s something that Seth and I are going to sit back and talk about it after this event,” Woods said. “I said I’m going to be busy for a couple of weeks, so let me focus on getting through this week and hopefully getting another jacket, and then we can sit back and talk about it next week.”
