“classical cities of andalucia october 2023”.

This good-value trip was thoroughly enjoyed by two elderly but healthy and mobile widows. The trips to the cities of Cordoba, Seville and Granada were well-organised and exactly the right length. There was a fair amount of walking, but the less mobile had the opportunity to shorten the walks. The add-on trip, a gentle trek in the mountains of the Torcal National Park, was a joy. The Mistral representative was charming, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The Hotel Antequera Hills is a comfortable modern hotel. Wifi was reliable. It was such a pleasure to be able to swim in the rather lovely outdoor pool. The food was plentiful, more or less international in character, not all that special. The hotel specialises in these large groups, mainly from the UK, and haute cuisine would be an unrealistic expectation. To get a taste of Spain, there was the opportunity to find lunch in the city being visited, or in Antequera itself. All in all, a no-frills holiday producing exactly what Mistral advertised. I would go with Mistral again, for sure.

“Greta little company who offer many locations with...”

We have had two holidays with Mistral now and found the company friendly and professional. Everything is easy to book and seamless from booking to returning home. Straight forward booking procedures and really lovely tour guide in resort who is there for you for your whole stay. We enjoy the Mistral holidays as they enable us to have a holiday but also get out and about to see the important sights drama free.

“Undiscovered Italy, Puglia”

Just returned from this 8 day tour guided holiday staying in the excellent 4* Riva Marina Resort. Our group of 46 bonded well, a d our excellent tour manager / guide Armando took the best care of us. The holiday was paced just right. We had trips to several beautiful places including Lecce and Matero, with two rest days inbetween, where we could relax in resort or take the 15 min walk to the beach. The hotel rooms were lovely, all low level and individual with their own terrace or small garden. The pool, although not heated was lovely. Food, good and plentiful with plenty of choice. Free drinks welcome. Only complaint-being served in plastic glasses. Apparantly there had been an incident in the past where a fight had broken out and glasses were broken! All in all it was a fabulous week. We shall be looking to book another Mistral holiday very soon!

“Antequera Hills Classical Spain”

This holiday was booked because my wife wanted to see the Alhambra. There was a lot of walking involved as coaches cannot park in the cities we visited Cordoba, Seville, and Ronda. The visit to the Alhambra included 45 minutes in Granada as the coach picked everyone up at 10.30. The guide at the Alhambra stopped a couple of times to show us photos she had taken that morning on her phone. It was rushed and we were left at the end as she charged ahead with the rest of the group. As she rushed ahead, the ear pieces started to crackle so I think we missed about 50% of the descriptions. Very, very disappointing. We would have liked to have started earlier and spent time in Granada. The holiday did not start well as it took us 45 minutes to find the 'representative' who only had our surname on a small piece of paper not MISTRAL. The representative at the hotel - did not stay in the hotel. It took a lot of time to get to the cities and she just chatted with the driver so I would say this was not a guided tour by any stretch of the imagination. There was no entertainment in the evening at the hotel. Dinner was late for us at 8 o'clock. The food was average. This was not a 4 star hotel. We will not be booking with Mistral again.

“Italian riviera trip . Do not book with mistral ”

We made the mistake of holidaying with Mistral holidays of mold and are still regretting it . We booked the Italian riviera trip after reading the advertised holiday , however, on arrival we were told that we would not be staying at the advertised hotel or resort , no explanation given . The hotel we stayed at was if a very poor standard and in need of a total refurbishment . The food was awful and the room looked like something fro the 1960’s. The trips were good but the accommodation was shocking .

“Italian Riviera Holiday spoilt by guest ”

When paying our final bill we found out that our fellow diners in the last week had used our room number to purchase drinks gin and toxic spritzer and large beers to name a few,as we don't drink alchohol we queried the bill and saw their signature. Most people just pay what is asked and the chits aren't offered to view when paying.The manager agreed it wasn't our signature and deducted their drinks from our bill.But the couple again on the last night ordered three more drinks on our room number after we had left after evening meal.In the morning We were asked to pay as it was our room number again,by then they had left for earlier flight, we refused to pay and with the help of atour guide the manager angrily tore up the chit.They had appeared friendly and had befriended staff and guests and appeared to be the life and sole of the groups,I wonder if anyone else was paying for their drinks in their two week stay?

“Christmas cruise ”

A couple years ago I booked a Christmas voyage with Mistral on the Pont Avon. Three weeks before the sailing date they cancelled the cruise. Note they were the sole agents for the cruise. They offered a lame excuse it was Brittany Ferries excuse due to possible strike action. The real reason is they did not have enough passengers. I see Brittany Ferries are offering Christmas Cruises direct without having to go through the tosspot organisation of Mistral Holidays. Mistral is useless and how they are still around is a mystery!They offered no decent damages for a ruined Christmas. Don’t book with them if you want to be sure your holiday will go ahead. 

“Do Not Book With This Company”

I would not recommend this company to anyone. Your holiday's full details do not arrive until one week before you go. If you have any problems or requests they really are not interested and I would say very rude. They have your money so they don't care and wouldn't know customer care if it was spelt out to them. I was told by this company 'Airline to blame' when asked, as a goodwill gesture, for the same baggage allowance of every other customer being flown from other airports. This would have cost them all of an extra £50.00!! This Company does not have an in resort representative - If it wasn't for one of the hotel receptionists who carried out her own information pack and talk Customers of Mistral Holidays would know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING of what is available in and around Lake Como. Also be aware that the hotel used by this company is also used by all the coach tours and school trips. The hotel 'Britannia' was lovely but extremely noisy and busy.

Mistral Tour torna in Cina e mette la qualità al centro del viaggio

Nel 1978 Mistral Tour Internazionale, brand di Quality Group, ha accompagnato il primo gruppo di viaggiatori in Cina. Da quel primo viaggio ne sono seguiti innumerevoli altri, facendo della Cina la destinazione core del tour operator che oggi, dopo la chiusura forzata della pandemia – si appresa a ripartire puntando su una rinnovata consapevolezza e con nuovi obiettivi.

Gli obiettivi di crescita sulla destinazione sono ambiziosi; Mistral punta, infatti, a raggiungere 1500 passeggeri nel 2024, primo anno di ripartenza del turismo verso la Cina.

Un obiettivo favorito sì dalla semplificazione delle procedure di ingresso nel paese ma anche da molti altri elementi chiave che rendono la Cina candidata a scalare velocemente la classifica dei travel trend degli anni a venire.

Michele Serra, amministratore delegato Mistral Tour Internazionale e Presidente Quality Group, li riassume in quattro punti: “La chiusura totale della Cina durante la pandemia ha alimentato una vivida curiosità su questa meta, diventata pressoché sconosciuta ai più e permettendole di posizionarsi tra le vere novità del turismo outgoing. In secondo luogo, questo paese che ha rifiutato di uniformarsi alla globalizzazione del mondo occidentale, si presenta con una veste e un’anima autentica, totalmente diversa dal resto del mondo. Un’unicità valorizzata ancora di più dalla capacità di puntare, da un lato, verso il futuro che ha portato alla nascita di architetture e infrastrutture tra le più moderne ed efficienti al mondo, dall’altro recuperando l’orgoglio per la sua immensa cultura e le sue radici di storia millenaria. Non da ultimo la Cina che si presenta oggi come un paese estremante all’avanguardia e con aree di incredibile bellezza, sconosciute al turismo, risponde appieno alle richieste dei nuovi viaggiatori sempre più esigenti e preparati.”.

Per rispondere a questa domanda emergente Mistral Tour Internazionale ha investito sulla formazione e sulla qualità.

Innanzitutto, ha rinnovato e ampliato il suo team dedicato alla Cina nella sede torinese e allo stesso tempo ha potenziato la squadra basata negli uffici di Pechino che è nuovamente pronta a ricevere e gestire le necessità dei viaggiatori Mistral Tour, permettendo un controllo qualitativo elevatissimo.

Ha inoltre puntato sulla formazione dedicata, sia al proprio interno che agli agenti di viaggio.

Mistral ha rinnovato, ampliato e arricchito i suoi itinerari classici, aggiungendo nuove estensioni e toccando terre inedite. “La popolazione cinese è molto aperta a nuove culture e nuove persone. “Per Mistral è giunto il momento di investire per riportare i turisti in Cina perché crediamo nelle incredibili potenzialità di questo paese. Nell’ultimo anno siamo tornati in Cina più volte ed abbiamo testato il livello di servizio offerto e abbiamo viaggiato in lungo e in largo per ampliare la nostra programmazione. Alcune novità sono già in catalogo, molte altre ne arriveranno. La ventata di ottimismo, di meraviglia e il piacere della scoperta provato ritornando in questa terra non è cambiato, da quel lontano 1978.” conclude Serra.

The family owned 3 star Hotel La Pace in Forte dei Marmi is typical of the 3 star hotels we use on this holiday. The hotel is set in its own grounds and is close to the seafront. You will be warmly welcomed in this family-owned hotel and enjoy comfortable, well appointed accommodation with all bedrooms having an en-suite bathroom, TV and telephone. The hotel has a cosy bar and the continental buffet breakfasts and three course evening dinners are taken in the hotel's restaurant, which serves both Italian and international cuisine.

For a small supplement of £175 per person you can upgrade to a 4 star hotel such as the Hotel Zen in Marina di Pietrasanta, which have additional facilities for your comfort and enjoyment.

Please note that on certain peak dates or with high demand, we may use alternative hotels of the same 3 and 4 star category in our featured resorts of Lido di Camaiore, Marina de Pietrasanta or Forte dei Marmi on this delightful coast.

Excursions & Itinerary

On arrival at Pisa airport you will be met and transferred to our hotel on the Mediterranean Riviera, where we stay for seven nights with dinner and breakfast included every day.

During our stay we have arranged a programme of four fabulous full day excursions, all taken at a leisurely pace. There are also two days at leisure when you can relax in the comfortable surroundings of our hotel or explore our resort and nearby attractions.

The cradle of the Italian Renaissance, Florence is recognised as the art capital of the world. Built along the banks of the River Arno and surrounded by the Tuscan hills, it is here where you will find some of the finest sculptures, works of art and architecture including the magnificent Cathedral and Baptistry with its ‘Gates of Paradise’, Giotto’s Bell Tower and the Ponte Vecchio. We have arranged a sightseeing tour of the city as soon as we arrive, conducted by a local guide, to enable you to get the most from your visit. The afternoon is then at leisure. Florence has an excellent shopping centre with a large range of Italian fashion, leather goods and shoes in the shops and boutiques.

Pisa is world famous for its instantly recognisable landmark, the Leaning Tower, which stands at a seemingly impossible angle in the Square of Miracles. No matter how many pictures you have seen of the tower, the reality will take you by suprise and will leave you wondering why it hasn’t toppled over! Next to the leaning tower is the Cathedral and the Baptistry, which are built out of the white Carrara marble. Lucca, birthplace of Puccini, is a perfectly preserved medieval town, hidden behind its splendid Renaissance ramparts. It is a small, graceful town which makes it ideal for exploring on foot and a walk along the ramparts will reward you with lovely views of the narrow streets, elegant Palaces and Romanesque churches. The town is also noted for its medieval squares, particularly the unusual oval shaped main Piazza, which was originally a Roman amphitheatre.

A highlight of any holiday to Italy's Mediterranean Riviera is a visit to the Cinque Terre - one of the best-kept secrets of the Riviera and one of the most unspoiled areas of the Mediterranean. The Cinque Terre is about as beautiful a coastline as you’re likely to find anywhere in Europe. In medieval times the name “terra” (land) meant village and today Cinque Terre refers to the five colourful fishing villages which are perched precariously above the sea along this stunning stretch of coast, with their hidden coves nestling at the foot of dramatic cliffs. Inaccessible by road, the villages are linked together both by rail and via a hillside footpath which winds through Mediterranean lemon groves, olive trees, orchards and terraced vineyards, with spectacular vistas every step of the way. If you prefer a more relaxing visit, we have included a ticket for the local train, which stops at each village. Whichever way you choose to visit the Cinque Terre, you will see some of Italy’s most inspiring scenery.

Portofino, once a tiny fishing village, now the Italian Riviera’s most exclusive resort, needs little introduction. Portofino’s harbour is filled with the yachts of the rich and famous and its pedestrianised streets are lined with stylish restaurants and chic designer boutiques. Not to be missed is a walk up to St. George’s church and on to the lighthouse, from which there are some fabulous views. Neighbouring Santa Margherita dates back to Roman times and is another old fishing village turned seaside resort. In the latter half of the 19th century Santa Margherita drew visitors from all over Europe, who stayed in the elegant hotels and villas which line the promenade.

Its "arrivederci" to Italy today, returning to Pisa airport to catch your flight back home after a fabulous week on Italy's Mediterranean Riviera.
