WINDTRE Travel Pass: new Roaming options for those traveling to some countries of the Middle East

The FIFA  World Cup Qatar 2022 ™ will be played from 20 November to 18 December. Italy failed to make it to the FIFA World Cup for the second time in a row after a shock loss to North Macedonia in the playoff semifinal. If you are Italian and going anyway to visit Qatar 2022, this is a reminder that WINDTRE has added new countries in which it is possible to activate the Roaming option called Travel Pass, dedicated to those traveling abroad and outside the European Union, in particular with new bundles of minutes, SMS and GB monthly or weekly for the Middle East. WINDTRE Travel Pass provides a series of weekly and monthly Roaming options dedicated to customers traveling abroad in the countries included in the offer.

WINDTRE Travel Pass is therefore suitable for customers traveling outside the countries of the European Union (and in the United Kingdom for now), where instead Roaming can be used at no additional cost under the same national conditions for minutes and SMS, while for data there is a monthly limit based on the cost of the mobile offer.

The option can be activated by both new customers and existing WINDTRE customers with an active offer. The activation cost, charged to the residual credit of your SIM, is equal to  1.99 euros.

In any case, the customer will still have to pay a  weekly or monthly price when he arrives in one of the included countries provided for by the option (at the first traffic event). Depending on the country you are in and the payment method chosen by the customer, Travel Pass offers different packages.

New Middle East Travel Pass Options WINDTRE Travel Pass

Therefore, starting this autumn , 23 September 2022, the operator has introduced new packages dedicated to some Middle Eastern countries, in particular Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar. WINDTRE Travel Pass

In all these new countries, it will be possible to obtain the following bundles thanks to WINDTRE Travel Pass:

• Middle East weekly including  30 minutes and 2 Giga  each week;
• Middle East monthly including 70 minutes, 20 SMS and 4 Giga per month.

Regardless of the country in which you are located, among those included in the Middle East, the WINDTRE customer always pays a cost of 14.99 euros every week or  29.99 euros every month depending on the activated version.

The other options for the countries of Asia

On the WINDTRE website, the new Middle East Travel Pass is part of the offers for Asia (as there are all Western Asian countries), which also includes other packages for other countries of the Asian continent.

Countries included with Travel Pass Asia are Turkey, Israel, China, India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Philippines and Japan. Depending on the country they visit, customers can get the following bundles:

• Turkey and Israel weekly  including  30 minutes and 2 Giga  each week;
• Turkey and Israel monthly  with included  100 minutes and 5 Giga  per month;
• China and India weekly  including  20 minutes and 2 Giga  each week;
• China and India monthly with monthly included 40 minutes and 4 Giga ;
• South Asia (Bangladesh, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sri Lanka) weekly  including  50 minutes and 2 Giga  each week;
• South Asia (Bangladesh, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sri Lanka) monthly with 100 minutes, 200 SMS and 4 Giga included each month ;
• East Asia (Philippines and Japan) weekly  including  50 minutes and 2 Giga  each week;
• East Asia (Philippines and Japan) monthly with included  100 minutes, 20 SMS and 4 Giga every month.

In all Asian countries listed, the WINDTRE Travel Pass option costs € 14.99 each week in the weekly version or  € 29.99 per month with the monthly version.

L’opzione aggiuntiva WindTre Travel Pass , per coloro che viaggiano all’estero e fuori dall’Unione Europea, è stata aggiornata con una novità per quanto riguarda il pacchetto Travel Pass Sud Est Asiatico , adesso disponibile in un nuovo Paese .

Come anticipato da MondoMobileWeb , infatti, adesso il pacchetto Travel Pass Sud Est Asiatico è disponibile anche in Vietnam , oltre che in Cambogia, Laos, Malesia e Myanmar .

Questa novità era prevista per il 23 Aprile 2024, ma è stata introdotta già oggi, 22 Aprile 2024 , un giorno prima rispetto alle anticipazioni.

Come funziona l’opzione WindTre Travel Pass

Con l’opzione Travel Pass , attivabile sia dai nuovi che dai già clienti WindTre con un’offerta attiva , vengono messi a disposizione una serie di pacchetti roaming extra UE settimanali e mensili, in base al Paese in cui ci si trova e alla modalità di pagamento scelta.

Questa opzione, infatti, è rivolta a chi viaggia al di fuori dei  Paesi dell’Unione Europea (e del Regno Unito per adesso), dove invece il Roaming si può utilizzare senza costi aggiuntivi alle stesse condizioni nazionali  per minuti ed SMS, mentre per i Giga è previsto un limite mensile in base al costo dell’offerta mobile.

Quando si attiva Travel Pass, è richiesto subito un costo di attivazione pari a  1,99 euro , con addebito sul credito residuo. In seguito, comunque, quando arriva in uno dei Paesi inclusi previsti dall’opzione (al primo evento di traffico), il cliente deve sostenere anche un prezzo mensile o settimanale .

L’opzione, nel complesso, prevede una  durata di 3 mesi dall’attivazione, e si paga soltanto in caso di utilizzo durante questo periodo di validità.

Come detto, i rispettivi pacchetti di WindTre Travel Pass si attivano soltanto dal primo evento di traffico generato all’estero , con addebito su credito residuo  anche se la propria offerta prevede il pagamento su Carta di Credito o Conto Corrente Bancario.

Allo scadere del periodo di utilizzo mensile o settimanale , l’optional dedicato al paese di destinazione si rinnoverà automaticamente al primo evento di traffico all’estero e scadrà dopo un mese o una settimana alla stessa ora del giorno in cui è avvenuto il rinnovo.

Il nuovo portafoglio Travel Pass in Asia

Nel continente asiatico, attualmente in totale sono previsti otto pacchetti differenti, ovvero Travel Pass Sud Asia, Travel Pass Sud Est Asiatico, Travel Pass Asia Occidentale, Travel Pass Cina e Giappone, Travel Pass Asia Orientale, Travel Pass Medio Oriente, Travel Pass Asia e Travel Pass Corea del Sud e Taiwan .

Come detto, adesso il Travel Pass Sud Est Asiatico è disponibile anche in Vietnam , oltre che in Cambogia, Laos, Malesia e Myanmar .

Non è stata invece introdotta alcuna modifica per costi e contenuti, neanche per il resto dei pacchetti sopra indicati .

Ecco tutto il portafoglio completo disponibile adesso per chi viaggia in Asia:

• Sud Asia (Bangladesh, Thailandia, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka) settimanale  con inclusi  50 minuti e 2 Giga  ogni settimana;
• Sud Asia (Bangladesh, Thailandia, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka) mensile  con inclusi ogni mese  100 minuti, 20 SMS e 5 Giga ;
• Sud Est Asiatico settimanale (Cambogia, Laos, Malesia, Myanmar, Vietnam) con inclusi  15 minuti e 1 Giga  ogni settimana;
• Sud Est Asiatico mensile (Cambogia, Laos, Malesia, Myanmar, Vietnam) con inclusi  40 minuti e 2 Giga al mese;
• Asia Occidentale settimanale (Israele, Giordania, Turchia) con inclusi 30 minuti e 2 Giga  ogni settimana;
• Asia Occidentale mensile (Israele, Giordania, Turchia) con inclusi 100 minuti e 5 Giga ogni mese;
• Cina e Giappone settimanale con inclusi 100 minuti e 2 Giga  ogni settimana;
• Cina e Giappone mensile con inclusi 200 minuti e 5 Giga  ogni settimana;
• Asia Orientale settimanale (Filippine, Indonesia, Singapore, India, Pakistan) con inclusi 50 minuti e 1 Giga  ogni settimana;
• Asia Orientale mensile (Filippine, Indonesia, Singapore, India, Pakistan) con inclusi 100 minuti e 2 Giga  ogni settimana;
• Medio Oriente settimanale (Qatar, Kuwait, Yemen) con inclusi  30 minuti e 2 Giga  ogni settimana;
• Medio Oriente mensile (Qatar, Kuwait, Yemen) con inclusi  70 minuti, 20 SMS e 4 Giga al mese;
• Asia settimanale (Armenia, Georgia, Kazakistan, Kirghizistan, Uzbekistan) con inclusi  20 minuti e 2 Giga  ogni settimana;
• Asia mensile (Armenia, Georgia, Kazakistan, Kirghizistan, Uzbekistan) con inclusi  50 minuti e 5 Giga al mese;
• Corea del Sud e Taiwan settimanale  con inclusi  50 minuti e 2 Giga ogni settimana;
• Corea del Sud e Taiwan mensile  con inclusi  100 minuti, 20 SMS e 5 Giga  al mese.

Per i pacchetti Sud Asia, Asia Occidentale, Asia Orientale, Medio Oriente e Corea del Sud e Taiwan , l’opzione WindTre Travel Pass costa  14,99 euro ogni settimana  nella versione settimanale oppure  29,99 euro al mese  con la versione mensile.

Invece, per i pacchetti Sud Est Asiatico, Cina e Giappone e Asia si pagano 19,99 euro ogni settimana  nella versione settimanale oppure  39,99 euro al mese  con la versione mensile.

I bundle disponibili in Europa nei Paesi extra UE

Oltre che in Asia, l’opzione WindTre Travel Pass rimane ancora disponibile anche nei Paesi dell’Europa che non fanno parte dell’Unione Europea , e che non sono quindi inclusi nel  Roaming Like At Home .

In questo caso, WindTre permette di usufruire dell’opzione in Svizzera , in alcuni paesi dei Balcani, ossia  Albania, Bosnia, Montenegro, Macedonia del Nord e Serbia , e anche in Russia, Bielorussia, Ucraina e Moldavia .

Nel dettaglio, i pacchetti disponibili sono i seguenti:

• Svizzera settimanale  con inclusi  100 minuti e 10 Giga  ogni settimana;
• Svizzera mensile  con inclusi mensilmente  200 minuti, 100 SMS e 25 Giga ;
• Balcani (Albania, Bosnia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Serbia) settimanale con inclusi  20 minuti e 1 Giga  ogni settimana;
• Balcani (Albania, Bosnia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Serbia) mensile con inclusi  50 minuti e 2 Giga  ogni mese.
• Russia e Bielorussia settimanale  con inclusi  30 minuti e 2 Giga  ogni settimana;
• Russia e Bielorussia mensile  con inclusi mensilmente  60 minuti, 20 SMS e 5 Giga ;
• Ucraina e Moldavia settimanale  con inclusi  30 minuti e 1 Giga  ogni settimana;
• Ucraina e Moldavia mensile  con inclusi  60 minuti, 20 SMS e 3 Giga  ogni mese.

Quando ci si trova in  Svizzera , il costo di Travel Pass è pari a  9,99 euro ogni settimana  o  19,99 euro ogni mese  in base alla versione scelta.

Nei Paesi dei Balcani , in  Ucraina e in Moldavia  si pagano  14,99 euro ogni settimana  per la versione settimanale oppure  29,99 euro ogni mese  per la versione mensile.

Per quanto riguarda invece  Russia e Bielorussia , in questo caso è previsto un prezzo pari a  19,99 euro ogni settimana  per la versione settimanale oppure  39,99 euro ogni mese  per la versione mensile.

Si ricorda che per chi viaggia o si trova spesso in Svizzera e ha bisogno di connettività in Roaming nella Confederazione Elvetica,  WindTre mette a disposizione l’opzione da aggiungere alla propria offerta base denominata  Travel Svizzera , con minuti e Giga a  4,99 euro in più al mese .

I pacchetti validi in America

Per chi viaggia in America , l’opzione Travel Pass è valida in USA, Canada, Brasile, Perù, Messico Ecuador, Argentina, Cile, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Repubblica Dominicana, Costarica, Guatemala, Panama e Porto Rico .

In base alla versione settimanale o mensile scelta, attualmente i pacchetti sono i seguenti:

• USA settimanale  con inclusi  200 minuti e 10 Giga  ogni settimana;
• USA mensile  con inclusi  500 minuti, 500 SMS e 30 Giga  ogni mese;
• Canada settimanale  con inclusi  50 minuti e 1 Giga  ogni settimana;
• Canada mensile  con inclusi  100 minuti, 20 SMS e 3 Giga  ogni mese;
• America Centro Sud (Brasile, Perù, Messico, Ecuador) settimanale  con inclusi  30 minuti e 1 Giga  ogni settimana;
• America Centro Sud (Brasile, Perù, Messico, Ecuador) mensile  con inclusi  100 minuti, 20 SMS e 2 Giga  ogni mese;
• Sud America (Argentina, Cile, Colombia, Paraguay e Uruguay) settimanale con inclusi   30 minuti e 1 Giga  ogni settimana;
• Sud America (Argentina, Cile, Colombia, Paraguay e Uruguay) mensile con inclusi 100 minuti, 20 SMS e 2 Giga  ogni mese;
• America Latina (El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Repubblica Dominicana) settimanale  con inclusi  40 minuti e 1 Giga  ogni settimana;
• America Latina (El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Repubblica Dominicana) mensile  con inclusi  100 minuti, 10 SMS e 2 Giga  ogni mese;

Per USA, Canada, America Centro Sud e Sud America, l’opzione Travel Pass costa 9,99 euro ogni settimana nella versione settimanale  o  19,99 euro al mese con la versione mensile .

Invece, per America Latina e Caraibi sono previsti 14,99 euro ogni settimana nella versione settimanale o  29,99 euro al mese con la versione mensile .

Pacchetti Travel Pass anche in Africa

Infine, l’opzione WindTre Travel Pass rimane è disponibile anche in Africa, in particolare in Ghana, Nigeria e Tanzania con il pacchetto Travel Pass Africa, in Egitto, Marocco e Tunisia con il Travel Pass Mediterraneo, e in Sudafrica con il pacchetto denominato appunto Travel Pass Sudafrica.

In questi casi, in base alla versione settimanale o mensile, i bundle sono i seguenti:

• Africa settimanale (Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania) con inclusi  100 minuti e 1 Giga  ogni settimana;
• Africa mensile (Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania)  con inclusi 200 minuti e 3 Giga  ogni mese;
• Mediterraneo settimanale (Egitto, Marocco e Tunisia) con inclusi 20 minuti e 1 Giga  ogni mese;
• Mediterraneo mensile (Egitto, Marocco e Tunisia) con inclusi 50 minuti e 3 Giga  ogni mese;
• Sudafrica settimanale  con inclusi  40 minuti e 1 Giga  ogni settimana;
• Sudafrica mensile  con inclusi 90 minuti, 30 SMS e 3 Giga ogni mese.

A prescindere dal paese in cui ci si trova, con queste opzioni Roaming è previsto un costo di 14,99 euro a settimana per la versione settimanale, oppure 29,99 euro al mese  per la versione mensile.

Maggiori dettagli su questa opzione WindTre

Si ricorda che, al termine del periodo complessivo di 3 mesi, l’opzione Travel Pass viene automaticamente disattivata . A tal proposito, si specifica che la disattivazione può essere effettuata anche manualmente inviando un  SMS al numero 4033 con testo  TRAVEL NO .

WindTre Travel Pass non è compatibile  con le opzioni Pieno Wind, con le opzioni Travel (ad eccezione della Travel Svizzera) e con tutte le offerte con prova gratuita.

Il bundle di minuti incluso in ogni pacchetto può essere utilizzato  per chiamate effettuate verso il Paese in cui ci si troverà e verso l’Italia . Nonostante ciò, l’opzione è comunque valida  per ricevere chiamate da tutte le destinazioni .

Nel caso in cui si dovesse  terminare il traffico roaming incluso prima della scadenza , sarà disponibile il  servizio Restart  per anticipare il rinnovo inviando un  SMS al 4011 con testo  RESTART SI .

Se il cliente non usufruisce del Restart, al superamento delle soglie di traffico incluso (e per gli eventuali SMS non previsti nel bundle), nei Paesi di validità  verranno applicati i costi consultabili alla pagina  “Tariffe base nel Mondo” del sito WindTre .

In tutti i casi, i minuti, SMS e Giga eventualmente non utilizzati nel corso del periodo di validità (settimanale o mensile) scadranno improrogabilmente.

How will i be charged for travelpass.

You're only charged on days you use your device in a TravelPass country :

• $5/day in Mexico and Canada. Remember, calling, texting and data use in Mexico and Canada are included at no extra cost in our Unlimited mobile plans.
• $10/day in other TravelPass countries.
• If you travel to 2 countries within a single 24-hour session or have a layover in a different country on your way to your final destination, you're still only charged for the first session.
• There's no charge when you're in the US.

Which countries can I call with TravelPass?

With TravelPass, you can call within the country you're visiting and you can call back to the US. If you want to call a different country, add an International Long Distance Plan to your line in My Verizon website or the My Verizon app. If you don't add an international long distance plan you'll be charged international long distance pay per minute rates for these calls.

How does TravelPass work?

After you add TravelPass to your line:

• A 24-hour TravelPass session starts automatically when you use your device in a TravelPass country (e.g., make or answer a phone call, send a text or use data).
• You must turn on cellular data or data roaming when you go to the TravelPass country to use Travel Pass.
• App content refreshing (e.g., Weather apps, Fitness Tracker, etc.)
• Syncing (e.g., with email)
• Device or app software updates
• 2 hours after the session starts we send you a text letting you know when your 24-hour TravelPass session ends. Using your device after that time will start a new session.

Can I use Wi-Fi calling with TravelPass?

Wi-Fi calling isn't included with TravelPass. Wi-Fi calling to a country other than the US is charged international long distance rates regardless of whether or not you have an international travel plan.
