EXO World Tour 2023: Here's What We Know About Group's Much-Awaited Comeback

Are EXO-Ls' wallets prepared for EXO's much-anticipated return this 2023? According to reports, the group will not only release an album but will also embark on a WORLD TOUR!

Keep reading to know more details.

EXO World Tour 2023 Date Revealed

EXO OT9

On January 9, Hi Investment & Securities unveiled SM Entertainment's Q12023 calendar containing the prospective comebacks and releases of SM artists.

In the said report, the January comeback of GOT the beat and NCT 127 were confirmed. It also mentioned the comeback of SuperM, aespa and EXO in the first half of 2023.

Along with them, NCT Tokyo, will also finally debut in 1H, followed by a non-NCT boy group and NCT Hollywood in the 2nd half of the year.

Among the fandoms who celebrated following this news were EXO-Ls, supporters of EXO, who have been waiting for the group's comeback for about 2 years since they dropped their last release, "DON'T FIGHT THE FEELING" in June 2021. At the time, they weren't able to make a release with the complete group due to members' military enlistment.

Delighting EXO-Ls and BBH-Ls, Baekhyun will end his military service in February, giving the members opportunity to have a full OT8 /OT9 (with Lay) before maknae-line Kai and Sehun are called for military enlistment.

EXO Don't Fight the Feeling

Based on the news, SuperM, where Baekhyun and Kai belong, will make a comeback first before EXO after SHINee Taemin gets discharged in April.

EXO's return is then hinted to be after spring, speculated to be particularly in June.

Surprisingly, it seems like this year is EXO and Eris' year because aside from a full comeback, another source teased that the group is also heralding an "EXO World Tour 2023."

The calendar states that it will happen in June, the same time the album is possibly scheduled to be released.

According to insiders, the nine-member group will have multiple tour arcs including an Asian tour, a European tour, a US tour and special tour leg in Japan.

SM Entertainment is yet to release official details about EXO's comeback and world tour.

Leader Suho Confirms EXO Comeback 2023

While SM Entertainment is yet to make an announcement about EXO's return to the music scene this year, Suho, the team's leader, was the first one to declare the comeback notice, raising expectations from the whole K-pop industry.

EXO OT9

With Baekhyun, currently serving the military, is set to be discharged on February 5. This means he can potentially join EXO's first release since their special album, "DON'T FIGHT THE FEELING" in 2021, as full group.

EXO, considered a representative group of the third generation, is already receiving an enthusiastic response after amassing huge fanbases both at home and abroad by their numerous hit songs "Growl," "Overdose," "Call Me Baby," "Love Shot," "Monster," "Kokobop," and more.

EXO OT9

Attention is focused on how their return will change the K-pop scene once again, as they not only swept various award awards and won Daesangs for four consecutive years, but also had a huge influence around the world, including their entry into Tokyo Dome in Japan, a considered "holy land" venue that only top artists can step on.

Wow this concert was absolutely amazing. EXO’s songs are filled with inspirational messages. The songs were composed with inspiration and creativity being the main elements of the song. The obvious messages that are presented in the songs make them some of the most inspiring and creative pieces that have ever been produced. In conclusion, EXO's concerts aren't only dancing and singing, they are filled with strong messages aside from the absolute fun one experiences there.

It was a great show, but I wish I had gotten a seat instead of pit tickets, because people don't know how to behave and not push and be orderly. And standing for 5-6 hours was bad on my every thing.so my first concert ever was EXO and I'm excited to have experienced it with them. But I wish it had been a more happy memorable experience.

please SM let EXO have their own world tour. Don’t let them tour always in Asia. they have also fans outside Asia. please, please, please. we will be happy if they were able to tour outside Asia. Don’t put EXO in dungeon. after all they bring profit to your company

I’m a recent fan and can’t wait to see EXO in concert for the first time. My favorites are D.O., Sehun, and Kai...in that order. I’d die for D.O. to sing to me, I’d faint if Sehun rapped to me and I would lose my mind if Kai danced for me.

Pre-debut [ ].

In early 2011, SM Entertainment 's founder Lee Soo-man announced the company's plan to debut a new boy group, of which would be divided into two units that would promote simultaneously in South Korea and China by performing in both Korean and Mandarin. At the time, the two units were simply known as "M1" and "M2". [1]

On December 22, 2011, the boy group's debuting name was revealed to be EXO, taken from the term "exoplanet".

EXO held their first-ever televised performance on December 29, 2011, at SBS' annual Gayo Daejeon . [2]

EXO's debut single, " Mama ", was released digitally on April 8, followed by the mini album of the same name the next day. The two subunits promoted the album separately: EXO-K (made up of Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O, Kai and Sehun) performed on SBS' Inkigayo in South Korea, whilst EXO-M (made up of Xiumin, Luhan, Kris, Lay, Chen and Tao) performed on Top Chinese Music Awards in Shenzhen, China.

The group's first full-length album, XOXO , was released on June 3, 2013, in both Korean and Chinese versions—of which were promoted by their respective sub-units. The album's title track, "Wolf" featured vocals from all 12 members, whilst the rest of the album's tracks were recorded separately.

A repackaged version of XOXO , featuring the title track "Growl", was released on August 5. All three versions of XOXO cumulatively sold over 1 million copies, making EXO the first artist to achieve this in over 12 years. [3]

2014: Overdose , first concert tour, Kris and Luhan lawsuits [ ]

On May 7, 2014, EXO released their second mini album, Overdose , with its title track of the same name. Originally slated to be released on April 21, the album was pushed back in light of the Sewol Ferry tragedy that occurred on April 16. [4] Once again, the album was promoted separately by EXO-K and EXO-M, although an alternative version of the title track features vocals from all 12 members. The Korean and Chinese versions later ranked first and second on the Gaon Yearly Chart for 2014, with 385,047 and 272,718 copies sold, respectively. [5]

On October 10, Luhan became the second member of EXO to file a lawsuit against SM Entertainment, citing health problems and the company's differential treatment between the group's Korean and Chinese members. [10] Thus, his participation in the group's concert tour was discontinued. [11]

EXO released their first live album, Exology Chapter 1: The Lost Planet , on December 22, 2014. By year's end, the group had become the best-selling Korean act in Japan for the year. [12]

A repackage album, titled The War: The Power of Music , was released on September 5. Combined sales for both versions of the album reached 1.6 million copies, becoming EXO's fourth album to surpass 1 million copies sold and earning them the title of "quadruple million sellers". [24]

EXO began their fourth tour, EXO Planet #4 – The EℓyXiOn , on November 24 at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. The tour eventually concluded on August 11, 2018, at Cotai Arena in Macau.

With a fervent fanbase, EXO is one of K-pop’s most popular boy bands thanks to their sleek dance pop songs and their multifaceted bandmembers, many of whom simultaneously pursue solo careers as singers, actors and variety show personalities. The group has moved an enormous amount of albums since their debut in 2012, and has seen more than 10 singles appear in the top five spots of the World Digital Songs Sales chart.

EXO first debuted on the Billboard 200 chart in 2014 with their Overdose EP (No. 129), while their 2015 EXODUS album broke the record for the biggest sales week ever for a K-pop act at the time, beating 2NE1’s 2014 record with Crush . BTS currently holds the title, after breaking EXO’s record last year with the release of their Wings album.

BTS Adds 2 New Shows to Sold-Out Wings Tour

EXO’rdium is EXO’s second world tour, as the follow-up to last year’s EXO’luxion tour. Since then, EXO released their EX’ACT studio album and their winter-oriented  For Life EP, as well as the single “Dancing King,” a collaboration with the popular Korean comedian Yoo Jae Suk. The band premiered EXO-CBX, a subunit featuring members Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin, in October with the release of their World Albums chart-topping Hey Mama! EP.
