What makes us extraordinary though, is our approach to making the free tour unbeatable for a generation of travellers who will never have to feel ripped off, let down, or disappointed by a walking tour experience in our cities again!

Generation Tours Free Walking Tours Are Different!

For too long, the free tour has been regarded as a second-rate or ‘lesser-tour’ for budget-travellers, run by students and underqualified amateur guides and, in many cases, designed to upsell you onto a paid tour or promote other products to you. Well, not on our watch!

Where can I join Generations Tours Free Tours?

Generation Tours operates a number of daily free walking tours, as well as our night-time activity, The  Generation Pub Crawl , in Dublin, Budapest, Prague, Berlin, and Barcelona. We operate a number of different free walking tours in each of these cities, offering general tours as well as theme-specific tours focusing in-depth on particular topics, and all under the free tour model which keeps you in control and free to pay what you like at the end of the tour.

How did it all begin?

Generation Tours was started in 2012 in Dublin. We knew that a wonderful city like this, so rich in culture, artistry, character and characters, history, stories, story-tellers, and incredible locals deserved better quality tours than were available – and so, what is today called Generation Tours, began. Visitors loved it, telling us they had never enjoyed or appreciated a free or paid city tour so much before. We soon expanded our mission of providing unrivalled city tours and experiences to thousands of curious and fun-lovin’ travellers to Budapest, Prague, Berlin and Barcelona in addition to Dublin.

Bringing smart-travellers and authentic local professional guides together, helping visitors see these places through the eyes of genuine locals, to feel the atmosphere and pulse of these cities, and leave them feeling happy, fulfilled, and enlightened is what we’re all about, and we still delight in championing top-quality free tours and fantastic night-time pub crawls today, providing truly valuable and fun experiences to a new generation of travellers.

It was lighthearted fun, but also informative about the city. The guides were really funny and enthusiastic. It’s a good way to see the Times Square area and other roads around without battling through sea’s of people. The actual street performers were not that impressive, but it was fun to see. I would however say it’s not worth $79 pp if you were paying without a pass. I would recommend for anyone coming to NYC. It’s very touristy and cheesy, but that’s what’s great about it. However, we were sat in the second row in the corner and still had amazing views and a great time. Dont be worried about seating as there is no bad seat. We were able to see the light show at Saks whilst on the ride which was amazing as the ceiling is a window! I cant remember our tour guides name but I have included a picture because you get this specific guide then you are in for a treat! Made our experience so special. Unfortunately, it does not live up to its own hype. It is basically a bus sight seeing tour of a very small area of midtown manhattan with a TINY element of “street performances” along the way. Although the cast and our two hosts, do, I am sure, put everything into it, the concept itself is not really lived up to. A much greater percentage of performance is required to enable this experience to call itself anything other than a sight seeing bus trip. Very poor and disappointing. We are a youth singing group open to high school freshman through college-aged young adults. We prepare during the school year and then go on tour each summer.

The New Generation singers, known as New G, are a highly-energetic and original voice for St. Joseph. And they’re hard to define, in all the best of ways.

Ahead of the release of her new “ Funk Generation ” album, slated for April 26, Anitta has announced she is going on tour .

Starting May 18 in Mexico City, Mexico, the “Baile Funk Experience Tour” will take the Brazillian singer to over 20 cities, including her first tour dates in North America. She’ll then hit South America and Europe in major cities like Paris, London, Bogota, Buenos Aires, Ibiza and more.

Anitta Plots First Official North American Tour in Support of ‘Funk Generation’

Brazilian superstar Anitta has announced a world tour in support of her upcoming album Funk Generation , which will include her first proper tour of North America. 

The North American leg of the Baile Funk Experience Tour will kick off May 18 at Salon LA in Mexico City and wrap June 2 at the Brooklyn Paramount in New York City. Anitta’s itinerary will also include stops in Miami, Orlando, Boston, Toronto, and Chicago. (While this marks Anitta’s first official North American tour, she has played plenty of one-off gigs and festivals here over the past several years, including Coachella in 2022.)

Tickets will go on sale for all shows April 12 at 10 a.m. local time (except the Mexico City gig, which will go on sale April 11 at 10 a.m. local time). There will be several different pre-sales as well, starting tomorrow, April 9. Full info is available on Anitta’s website .

Dr. moshe sokol appointed dean of touro university graduate school of jewish studies, world class scholar, thinker and administrator to prepare the next generation of jewish communal leaders.

Dr. Moshe Sokol was appointed as the new dean of the Touro University Graduate School of Jewish Studies (GSJS), Touro President Dr. Alan Kadish announced today. Dr. Sokol is the founding dean of Touro’s Lander College for Men (LCM), which he led for the last 25 years.

“Dr. Sokol is a world class scholar, thinker and teacher and a skilled administrator who built the Lander College for Men from the ground up, establishing its stellar reputation and turning out more than 1,000 successful alumni who are contributing to their professions, society and the community at large. I know GSJS students and faculty will benefit greatly from his many talents and skills and his leadership,” said Dr. Kadish.

In his new role as GSJS dean, Dr. Sokol will be responsible for management of all aspects of Touro’s Masters and Ph.D. programs in Jewish Studies, including student and faculty recruitment, academic standards and policies, thesis and dissertation guidance, teaching graduate seminars, planning academic conferences and developing new curricula.

“I am thrilled by the opportunity to devote more of my time to a field I love, Jewish Studies, to research and scholarship, and to helping prepare a new generation of young scholars who, with their deep knowledge of Jewish history and thought, will enrich Jewish life and education here and abroad,” said Dr. Sokol.

As dean of GSJS, Dr. Sokol hopes to build upon the extraordinary accomplishments of his predecessor, Dr. Michael Shmidman who is retiring as of June 2024. He will continue the school’s enduring focus on rigorous and high quality scholarship, while working to expand access to Touro’s offerings through distance learning, especially in the field of Jewish education.

Sokol also seeks to partner with other Touro schools, including the graduate schools of social work and business, to prepare graduates for administrative and leadership positions in Jewish communal service and educational administration.

"I cannot think of a more qualified successor to assume the role of Dean at the Touro Graduate School of Jewish Studies,” said Dr. Shmidman, who will continue to serve as Dean Emeritus, Victor J. Selmanowitz Professor of Jewish History and Editor of Touro University Press.

“Dr. Moshe Sokol is a distinguished scholar, with an illustrious administrative career. While at Lander, he taught for decades at GSJS and even played a key role in its founding. I have had the opportunity to see up close his superb teaching, sterling character, genuine integrity and personal warmth. It will be an honor to transfer leadership of GSJS to Dr. Sokol's talented hands."  

Dr. Sokol earned his Ph. D. in philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania and his rabbinic ordination from Yeshivat ITRI in Israel. He is the author or editor of six scholarly volumes and over two dozen articles in leading international journals of Jewish Studies.

A search for a new dean for Lander College for Men has been launched and Dr. Sokol will remain the Dean of LCM until his successor is appointed.

Touro University Graduate School for Jewish Studies

The Touro University Graduate School of Jewish Studies, established in 1981 and headed by Dr. Shmidman since its inception, offers courses leading to master’s and doctoral degrees in Jewish Studies. Under Dr. Shmidman’s leadership, GSJS has earned a reputation for close student-faculty interaction, superior instruction and a rigorous, well-structured curriculum. Major academic conferences have been sponsored by the school, and the Graduate School of Jewish Studies is the home of Touro University's scholarly press.
