Time now to sit back, listen to some quiet music and watch the scenery go by, or perhaps close your eyes for a quick nap, as we express back to Adelaide for approximately 5:30 PM and finish the perfect Barossa Adventure.
Taste the Barossa is a small family-owned company started by myself, Dallas Coull, and my wife, Nikki Coull. We met in 1997 while I was working in Greece and Nikki was on holiday from her home in Nottingham, England. We have three beautiful children, James (23), Georgia (21), and Tamsin (12). I have been involved in tourism in Australia for over 25 years, having previously founded Groovy Grape Getaways and am very proud to still see the Groovy buses travelling between Melbourne, Adelaide and Alice Springs today.
After spending six years in the UK with Nikki, we made the move to Australia in 2009 and started Taste the Barossa. I have a love for the Barossa Valley after spending a great deal of my youth there, with one of my first jobs being on a bottling line in a Barossa Valley Winery.
Over the last few years, we have assembled a fantastic little team that are as passionate about Adelaide and South Australia as I am. I know you will have one of the best Barossa Wine tours as you explore the stunning Adelaide wineries.

Tanunda, Barossa Valley
Located in the heart of the barossa valley, 70km from adelaide, the town of tanunda boasts a strong european heritage..
The pretty town is populated with jutting church spires, picturesque wineries, and a selection of cafes and restaurants perfect for people watching. As well as the beautiful backdrop, there is also plenty to see and do in Tanunda, who’s name derives from the Aboriginal word meaning “water hole”.
These days, the Tanunda town is home to around 4,000 people. It presents itself as a very religious city with no less than four Lutheran churches in its small quarters. It runs parallel to a scenic river and many of the ironstone cottages and barns that characterise the place are the originals.
The History of Tanunda
Tanunda used to be a collection of smaller settlements, the first of which was Bethanien, a town settled back in 1842. It was run by Prussian immigrants alongside Pastor Gotthard Fritzsche, and it was then joined by Langmeil, a settlement created in 1843 by more Prussian immigrants. Tanunda was the last of the settlements to emerge, but as it began to develop over the years, it became the most prominent, and soon the surrounding settlements were all known under the name Tanunda.
Things to do in Tanunda
There are plenty of things to do in Tanunda, along leafy lanes and in colonial town squares.

- This was our 2nd time booking with ExperiensceSA - Amazing!!! We did the Barossa on one day and then mclaren vale the next day!!! David was a lovely host and super knowledgeable about both regions. We had a wonderful weekend and will definitely be back!! Alyse H
- Andy took me and my husband on a day tour to 4 wineries throughout the Barossa and showed us some of the local hotspots including other places to visit during our week stay. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and would do it again! Jessica E
- Thank you for yesterday. Responding so quickly to our late notice request and then providing a perfect day. David was a wonderful guide and looked after us so well. Very attentive and discreet, all at the same time. We have reviewed you highly, as deserved. Rachel
- My family and I had so much fun on this tour that I have recommended this tour to a friend of mine who will be visiting Adelaide in April. Emma
- Dear Experience SA Thank you for a wonderful tour yesterday. Andy was a brilliant guide, and we very much enjoyed our day. Our first stop was Small Victories and all 5 of us on the tour loved the time and the effort Carly took to explain about the wines. It was a very relaxed but informative morning. That is to take nothing away from the beautiful Tanunda, lovely lunch at Z wines and brilliant ambiance at Langmeil! But I think Small Victories is new to you and we loved it. And the wine - quite a few bottles were bought. Thank you again for a wonderful experience Andrew and Tine Andrew and Tine
- Can’t believe a week has gone already. A big thankyou to you and David. You really made our experience and first time visit to Adelaide special. Amalia
